The student learned how to use Adobe Photoshop and InDesign software to create a magazine, finding Photoshop easier to use than InDesign, which they had less experience with. Throughout the project, the student used Blogger to document their progress and incorporated websites like Scribd and Slideshare to make the blog more interactive. While pleased with using Scribd and Slideshare, the student found Scribd sometimes had issues working properly on the blog.

Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

2. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? During the process of constructing my media product I have used the same software that professionals use when producing magazines. I used Adobe Photoshop for creating my front cover and Adobe InDesign for my contents and double page spread. I found Photoshop easy to use as I have used it in the preliminary task and in the past for GCSE media. However I found InDesign to be more difficult as I have had no practise using this software prior to the preliminary task. Now my product is complete I feel that in the future I would be more confident in using Adobe InDesign as during the task I slowly came to grips with the software. Throughout the process of this task I have been using Blogger to document my progress. In the brief we were told to make our blog as interactive as possible so I incorporated websites such as Scribd and Slideshare to achieve a blog that is interactive and intuitive. I also embedded youtube videos into my blog to make my blog more appealing and user-friendly. I used youtube videos for my audience feedback focus group and to show several videos from bands/artists from the indie genre. I have enjoyed using Blogger and found that it is a good way to show how far I have come during this course. I am pleased with the outcome of using Scribd and Slideshare however Scribd has proved to be troublesome as at times it would not work properly on my blog.
