MY MAGAZINE

GENRE AND IDEAS
 I have chosen to focus on the pop music genre as it is the most popular and most listened to music genre
currently.
 I have thought about talking about a new pop girl group and explain their journey to success.
 I will also be talking about some of their new music and what differentiates them from other girl groups.
 I would like my group to consist of 3 to 4 four girls of different backgrounds, religions and ethnicities. This
way I can show how different people are able to come together to do what they love to do.
 I will lay my magazine in out in the form of an interview. I believe that this will produce the best information
and give readers a better in sight into the group.
TARGET AUDIENCE
 My main target audience is teenagers from around 11 to adult aged up to 21. I believe that this is a good
age range as it includes the majority of our generation and the future generation. By having a big age range, it
allows my magazine to be more diverse and appeal to many other people.
 Also, I feel as though it will make my magazine have a mature and respectable label as it will appeal to
people who may be of a higher class. This will also promote my magazine as it will not be seen as tacky and
untruthful.
REPRESENTATION
 I would like my magazine to include different events where pop artists appear e.g. Award shows
 I would also like my magazine to include celeb gossip which may result in artists creating songs together. I
believe that this will make my magazine more appealing to younger females as they like to read about celebrity
gossip.
 My magazine will also feature a new girl group called Rogue
 They would wear different outfits to show their diversity and this way they will be able to appeal to a much
larger target audience
 Also, each member would have a different personality. This will show how they are still individuals and like
different things
 In the group, there will be one rapper. I believe that this will allow the group to be different to other girl
groups as typical girl groups consist of all singers. Having a rapper will allow the group to be unique and stand out
from average girl groups.
DESIGN IDEAS
I think that this would look better for my masthead instead of having it with a
black background as it reduces the element of rock. This also looks more
appealing to the eye as it stands out on its own and the black outlining gives it a
bolder effect.
I think that this would look better for my contents page as the colours are more
calming as it uses beach type colours. This makes it appealing as it is not a
typical colour that you would find on a contents page.
I think that this would look better for feature page instead as the bright pink
shadow, makes the text appear more girly and also relates more to pop music. By
using blue, it allows the title to become more unisex and appeal to boys as well
as girls. Also, the fact that not all girls like the colour pink, the blue allows the
text to appeal mainly to girls who like less vibrant colours.
INSTITUTION – WHERE WILL THIS
MAGAZINE BE DISTRIBUTED
 This magazine will be distributed as hard copy in retail shops and also online.
 I would like to post it online as I believe that people who are unable to go out and buy the
magazine should still be able to read it and find out what is going on in the world of pop.
 The magazine will be free to view however to obtain the full publication, you will have to
subscribe to us. The subscription will cost £50 a year and there will be weekly updates. I believe
that this will enhance the magazines profit and also allow people to save energy from having to
go to a retail shop every week to go buy one.
 The hard copy of the magazine will cost £3.99. I believe that this is a reasonable price to sell
the magazine as it is not too cheap that it wont make money, but at the same time it is not too
expensive that people would not want to buy it.

GENRE AND IDEAS  I have chosen to focus on the pop music genre as it is the most popular and most listened to music genre currently.  I have thought about talking about a new pop girl group and explain their journey to success.  I will also be talking about some of their new music and what differentiates them from other girl groups.  I would like my group to consist of 3 to 4 four girls of different backgrounds, religions and ethnicities. This way I can show how different people are able to come together to do what they love to do.  I will lay my magazine in out in the form of an interview. I believe that this will produce the best information and give readers a better in sight into the group.
  • 3. TARGET AUDIENCE  My main target audience is teenagers from around 11 to adult aged up to 21. I believe that this is a good age range as it includes the majority of our generation and the future generation. By having a big age range, it allows my magazine to be more diverse and appeal to many other people.  Also, I feel as though it will make my magazine have a mature and respectable label as it will appeal to people who may be of a higher class. This will also promote my magazine as it will not be seen as tacky and untruthful.
  • 4. REPRESENTATION  I would like my magazine to include different events where pop artists appear e.g. Award shows  I would also like my magazine to include celeb gossip which may result in artists creating songs together. I believe that this will make my magazine more appealing to younger females as they like to read about celebrity gossip.  My magazine will also feature a new girl group called Rogue  They would wear different outfits to show their diversity and this way they will be able to appeal to a much larger target audience  Also, each member would have a different personality. This will show how they are still individuals and like different things  In the group, there will be one rapper. I believe that this will allow the group to be different to other girl groups as typical girl groups consist of all singers. Having a rapper will allow the group to be unique and stand out from average girl groups.
  • 5. DESIGN IDEAS I think that this would look better for my masthead instead of having it with a black background as it reduces the element of rock. This also looks more appealing to the eye as it stands out on its own and the black outlining gives it a bolder effect. I think that this would look better for my contents page as the colours are more calming as it uses beach type colours. This makes it appealing as it is not a typical colour that you would find on a contents page. I think that this would look better for feature page instead as the bright pink shadow, makes the text appear more girly and also relates more to pop music. By using blue, it allows the title to become more unisex and appeal to boys as well as girls. Also, the fact that not all girls like the colour pink, the blue allows the text to appeal mainly to girls who like less vibrant colours.
  • 6. INSTITUTION – WHERE WILL THIS MAGAZINE BE DISTRIBUTED  This magazine will be distributed as hard copy in retail shops and also online.  I would like to post it online as I believe that people who are unable to go out and buy the magazine should still be able to read it and find out what is going on in the world of pop.  The magazine will be free to view however to obtain the full publication, you will have to subscribe to us. The subscription will cost £50 a year and there will be weekly updates. I believe that this will enhance the magazines profit and also allow people to save energy from having to go to a retail shop every week to go buy one.  The hard copy of the magazine will cost £3.99. I believe that this is a reasonable price to sell the magazine as it is not too cheap that it wont make money, but at the same time it is not too expensive that people would not want to buy it.
