How did you attract/address
     your audience?
Design
• My design of my magazine involves bright colours. As my genre was pop, I had to make it clear. These
colours are vibrant and fun yet serious and passionate. The layout of my pages are not complicated, as to
make it easier for my reader to navigate through them. They will appreciate the simplicity.
• My photography is brightly lit, my model is not obscured or blurred in any way. This is to bring across a
clear, refreshing image that a pop magazine should have. The readers will appeal more to this. The
pictures of the model are not over dominated by text, they can clearly be seen and have a good effect on
    the page.
• As my target audience are music lovers who love to listen and/or create music, my contents of ‘100 must
have songs’ and ‘Track/album reviews’ will attract them. They like celebrities so mentioning famous,
current celebrities would interest them to buy my magazine.
• The content of my magazine has been written in a way that will attract my audience. On the contest page,
I wrote the title of the page and in smaller text, a little sentence giving a hint as to what the page or pages
are about. These hints will grab the readers interest and curiosity.
Language and font
• When writing my magazine, I had to remember that it would be teenage girls reading it. I had to write in a way
that they would find easy to read.
• My language, especially in the interview on my double page spread, is very colloquial. The tone I used was not
serious but more light hearted and bubbly. This will appeal to my audience as, the pop genre is all about energy
and having fun. My readers can relate to this as it may be a way of speaking that they use everyday.
• My font choices are a mixture of sans serif and serif font. I created this mixture for a reason; I wanted to give the
magazine a modern look that young readers would appeal to by using the sans serif. At the same time, I
incorporated some girly and unique serif fonts to really trademark the pop genre of my magazine.
• The language of my content and cover lines is also colloquial as to come across as friendly and relaxed. By giving
off this impression, the reader will be more likely to read the content as the language will be the same.

    Serif font
                                                             Sans serif
My Model
• My models appearance is key in attracting the readers attention. Her clothing, a
feminine suit would appeal to lots of students that wear suits for sixth form. The red
stilettos would appeal to their love of fashion as the shoes are very stylish. The outfit
itself is a classic suit with a girly and unique twist that teenage girls will like. Her hair
is curled and loose, also reflecting the relaxing and refreshing image of the magazine.
• Her make up is not heavy but effective. The red lipstick highlight her lips, girls may
find this pretty and be inspired to do make up like this. The eyeliner and mascara
make my models eye stand out and bring out the colour. This may also inspire the
readers to do their make up like this.
• My model is within the same age group of my target audience. My model is 16 years
old; readers would be able to relate as she is the same age as them. They will be
inspired in the sense that, if she can look this good at the same age as me, so can I.
They will encouraged to possibly try new things e.g. make up.
