Existing ProductThe masthead is big and bold making it
stand out a lot by it having a bold bright
background. Also it having colour in the
letters ‘a’ and ‘d’ making it pop even more
with it being unique. The text on the
magazine is very easy to read, making it
easy for people to read. Also they have
made the important things or the more
interesting parts bold to bring attention to
them, which will make people want to find
out more about it when they look inside.
This makes the audience spot the magazine
easier as well as it’s so vibrant and has a
well know singer on the cover.
The main image is of a celebrity who is
well known called Katy Perry. She is
wearing a dress that’s stands out by what
is on it which is flower, which shows a
feminine side to it that will attract women
who are a similar age or younger to buy it
this is because of the colours used on the
magazine along with it having Katy Perry
on it. Katy Perry is the main focus to the
magazine as she is in the middle making
her stand out the most to attract the
audience when they first look at the
magazine. Bu her being in the centre of
the cover it will catch the audiences eyes
as she’s the main focus.
The layout to the magazine is
very colourful with all the pinks
and yellows making it pop
which adds more to it than it
just being a pink background.
Also it looks like the
background gets lighter near
the name of the magazine and
at Katy parry's face which make
Katy stand out that catches us
the audience to look at her.
The sub headings on the
magazine tells us
information that is in the
magazine, letting the
audience know what they
are getting in it. This helps
people who don’t have time
to look through it, they can
just read the cover it makes
the process quicker. It also
has buzz words that bring
the audiences attention to
them areas.
The angle Katy Perry is standing on
the right third of the magazine and
has her head looking straight at the
audience bringing all the attention to
her to then make our way round to
everything else on the magazine.
Existing ProductWith this cd cover it has a celebrity
called Kehlani in the centre which
brings attention to her first then
letting people know that its her
album, along with the name of the
album which is called ‘sweet sexy
savage’ on it as well if they
recognize the song.
The angle of the celebrity is in the
middle third of the page facing us
to catch our attention. Especially
her fans see her straight away it
will help the audience buy her
products as she is on them.
The background is very bright
that brings attention to it
which is good when the
audience come to look for that
specific product, or if they
have never heard of it will still
catch their attention as its
bright. The main colour that is
used in this image is pink
which could give of the
meaning; sweet, nice, playful,
cute, romantic and charming
which goes with the title to
the cover as it has the word
sweet in it. The background
has also got the colour orange
in it which is just round
Kehlani making her pop out
even more as the background
is mainly pink, by having the
orange around her draws our
eyes straight to her. It also
looks like with the colours
mixing together looks like
there’s clouds with the white
detail with it making it have a
calm look to it.
Its very minimalist looking as it doesn’t
have a lot of text on the cover apart
from the name of the album, allowing
the audience know it’s her album as
they might recognize the song more
than the actual singer.
The text on the album is called
‘sweet sexy savage’ in a fancy,
swirly font making it look different
compared to others who come out
with a album. I think that it looks
good with the text as it is
different, However people might
find it hard to read as it is very
swirly which could be bad if they
don’t know her as an artist or
know the songs she’s produced.
This will help the audience looking
for either her album or find
something tat catches their eyes
first.
Existing Product
With the tour poster it has one big picture of
someone facing sideways at the top, which
makes it stand out. It will also makes people
want to look at it more as it has a unique
design to it unlike other posters. It has the
name of the poster at the top in clear text
making it easy to read, along with not having
anything else over it or anything in the
background, its nice and clear making it stand
out as there isn't any of that stuff around it,
and will also make it easy for people to
remember it when coming to research her, or
wanting to remember the name of the poster
when wanting to find out the dates to the tour.
I find that because its very different to other
tour poster it will attract the audience as it’s
got a different look to it.
The writing at the bottom shows all the
dates clearly so the audience reading it
will know when and what time to go see
them, which is handy when it comes to
people wanting to see you when you’re
on tour. Also it has no fancy writing, its
quite normal along with it being in
capitals making it easy to read as well. It
also has a look of minimalist to it, how it
doesn’t really have a lot of text but still
has the information on it telling you what
you need. Also with the the picture it
looks simple but complicated as well
making it look different in a good way.
The colours that have been used are
mainly pinks and blacks. The look of
the poster looks like its got a
vintage look to it, as the colours
aren't very vibrant and clean giving
of the look of vintage. The picture
of the girl in the middle is like she is
in front of a sunset and her hair is
blowing in the wind, along with it
looking like there's clouds like she's
outside, which links to the name at
the top ‘The wooden sky’. The
background is quite bland, with the
neutral colour which is good in
some cases as you can then read
the text, to find out when the tour
dates are. With the colour the pink
gives off a girly vibe that might
attract certain people, along with
the black colour it’s a bold colour as
it created the shadows in the
picture on the poster creating more
of an interesting look to it, rather
than it just having a pink
background then a girl wearing
black they made it look like its
faded in with each other making it
look vintage and unique.
Existing ProductOn the tour poster it has the
dates to the event letting
people know when and where
it is making it easy for the
audience who are interested to
attend. The price for tickets is
also on the cover allowing
people to know how much
everything is before going. This
is very clear to read as it has the
important information that you
may need to know. It is in large
text size compared to the
smaller text that might not be
as important or it would be the
same text size, as the important
information that stand out to
the audience eyes.
The layout of the poster is very
minimalist as its only got 2 colours
which are; pink and black with the
pink being in the background
making that pop the most, but
then having the black text in the
picture as well, it makes them two
colours go well together as they
both pop the most as there is only
two colours as well, instead of
having more it might take away
from what is important like the
information that tells you where,
when and the prices to it all.
This makes the audience want to buy it because of the way the poster is set
up how the writing is close together you don’t have to look around to find
out the information to the tour dates, its in bold and in the middle which
might help people buy it as its helpful. It also had a cool look to it which
might make people want to buy it as it has an old looking look to it, like a
vintage look which people might like if they're into that type of thing.
Another thing with the picture
of the women the lighting is
making her face light up the
most, which makes our eyes
focus on that first to then
move to the background,
which is dark making her
stand out even more. The
women is on the right third of
the page letting the rest of the
space be filled up with the
information on where and
when to attend.
• In these existing products they have made the females on
theses products look elegant meaning they might of put a
filter over them or made their skin look smoother, glowy or
edited the parts of their body to look flattering. This might
make the audience think why they don’t look like the image
that’s on the magazines which can cause people to get
insecure about themselves. When women read the
magazines they identify certain ‘imaginary communities’ by
modeling the behaviour and styles of the communities they
might feel hat they're sustaining their relationship with
them. Also women might identify with an idealized
community construction beauty and seek to costume
products.
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
– The products I have picked all have similar colours on them for example
the pinks which is what I would like to go with as it’s a girly colour and
what I want to go for
I feel like it’s the best colour to go with as well as other neutral colours that
will also attract males as pink is quite girly.
– Another thing that the products have in common is the texts font is very
similar as its very simple hasn’t got a fancy font that might be hard to read.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
– I will include the simple fonts and the colour pattern with different shades
of pinks as well as the neutral colours to attract more of the audience
rather than just having pink which might not appeal to males.
Questionnaire Analysis
Audience research
• Observation: There's more males that have done my survey, meaning males might be
interested however it might be because I sent to more males.
• What this says about my audience: My audience is 30% females and 70% males. This
shows that there's a variety of males and females, making it useful for me as they
might like what my product is going to be.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: My product is for both genders,
however females might prefer it a little bit more as the singer is a female which might
attract more girls around her age or younger as it might relate to them rather than
boys. Although males might still enjoy the music.
Audience research
• Observation: The ages that is popular in this survey is mainly teenagers aged
16-19.
• What this says about my audience: My audience is 90% for age 16-19 which
shows that more teenagers are interested rather than 20+ where that is
10%.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to
teenagers a little more as they're are more teenagers that voted which is
also good for me as my singer is around that age.
Audience research
• Observation: People like ready magazines as they’re interesting and like the colours
that are used like bright vibrant colours that stands out to them. Also with the images
that are in there as well to make it more interesting to look at.
• What this says about my audience: 80% of people like magazines as they’re are
interesting and like to read things that they like. 20% of people don’t like them as
they’re are boring and there's too much writing on them.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: This is helpful as it helps with me
wanting to carry on with my idea of doing a magazine as more people like magazines
also to not add too much text as some people may not like that but still add some
under an image or anything else that people might be interested in.
Audience research
• Observation: People prefer pop music along with old ones which is good as I am
wanting to do pop music as its what I like as well.
• What this says about my audience: This says about my audience is that they prefer
newer music over rock, dance etc. they might like newer music like pop because its
different to other music and may help them in their lives as music now is about
people problems.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to my
audience by it being pop music which will attract more younger people as that’s what
people are interested in at the moment.
Audience research
• Observation: My audience are preferring the name ‘Shuffle’ by it being at 60% which is
higher than the other names that I picked which is ’Sing’ which got 10% and ’Loud’ that
got 30%.
• What this says about my audience: This means that my audience prefer the name
Shuffle because the way I thought of it is like you shuffle through your songs which
makes sense when it come to music so I thought I would link it to my product.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: This will appeal to my audience
because I'm choosing the name they're wanting for my magazine which is good as I'm
getting my audience involved in my products.
Audience research
• Observation: With this one there's two colours that are the same percentage and
they're pastels and primary colours both being at 40% where neutral colours is at 20%
meaning that isn't the most wanted colour.
• What this says about my audience: This says about my audience that they like
primary colours and pastels the most meaning they like the look of colour that pop,
where with the neutrals they aren't very exciting and doesn't really attract people as
much.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: This will appeal to my audience as I
am using the colours they’re wanting the most along with what I am wanting to do as
well which will help attract more people.
Audience research
• Observation: All of the responses are yes music does change their moods, which is
good as music is used a lot wherever you go.
• What this says about my audience: This says about my audience is that they listen to
music a lot by how it helps with their moods and they just like music in general.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to this
audience because they like to listen to music when they want to change their mood
or when they want to listen to it in the background when they’re doing something.
Audience research
• Observation: There is three the same percentage which are pop, indie and rap at 30%
where with rock it’s at 10% and dance has no percentage meaning no one listens to
that type of music.
• What this says about my audience: What this says about my audience is that they are
into different type music not just one which shows they’re creative with music not just
pop which most people listen to now.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to this
audience by having the music mainly pop which is what I would like my singer to be
classed by but still have a indie/rap bit in it maybe as they are the other popular type
of music that was chosen as well which will then attract the audience that are
interested in that music.
Audience research
• Observation: Most popular thing that was mentioned was images/ colours and what its
about was the main things my audience wanted the most.
• What this says about my audience: What this says about my audience is that they want
bright colours to catch their attention which will go with the images, As well as the
colour would be from the images that I will be choosing. Another thing is they like it to
be interesting about what its about, so music they want information about the singer
and the instruments etc.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: I will make my product appeal to this
audience by doing all them things I have said by adding images with bright colours along
with that. Also with information about the singer to make it more interesting to the
audience reading it.

are interested in and will include it which is getting them
involved and they will then be attracted to my products

Audience Profile
Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience
Age Range 16-19
• My products will appeal to this age because what I’m
doing is about music and I am wanting to do a singer so I
will be needing a model to be the singer. I’m also wanting
my model to be a similar age to my audience which might
attract more people that age as well because she is a
similar age.
Gender Female/Male
• For my products, I'm wanting it to target both genders as
I want everyone to see my products. However on my
questionnaire there's more males who did it but I feel
that I sent it to more boys but because there are more
males that have done it, it shows that they might be
interested in my products.
Psychographic Type A
• My products wont effect any society. My products will be
original and thought-out so it wont offend anyone .
Social Status B,C1,C2,D,E
• My products will be easy to find and get. In the magazine
the cd will be in the magazine as well so you will be
getting two products in one.
Research Evaluation
Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and
weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
This helped me with my final product because it made me think of different ideas, for example when
it came to thinking of colours for the magazine, cd cover and the poster i could look back at my work
to either remind myself or do add more work which will improve my work. Also to keep my theme
that I’m wanting to do all the same. With the poster I can look back to the style I liked to get
inspiration from it to help me think of more ideas, to help me make my work look creative also to
make it look more realistic. With the cd cover again, can look at other products to help me think of
ideas that will improve my work, also with what I’m wanting to do is to have the cd and the magazine
be one thing together, so I need to look back at the research I have done to keep the colour scheme
the same which will also help people out when it comes to the singers products being the same to
find easily.
– Questionnaires
With the questionnaire it helps a lot as you get to see what people are interested in it about your
products, or just what they’re generally interested in. This will then help me add to my products the
things that they like which will more people buy my products because I have included their ideas to
it to then make them buy them as it has something they enjoy. Rather than just having the things I
want in it which might not appeal to everyone so getting other peoples ideas help.
Interviews
With the interviews they were helpful as well as the questionnaire as you get to get other peoples
ideas which help even more as I can ask more questions or make some of the questions I asked in
more depth. By asking other audiences it helps me in my work as you can see their perspective of it.
Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
The response I got was good as they liked the ideas that I came up with, for example
they like listening to music along with magazines they like to read things that they’re
interested in, which helps when I’m wanting to do a music magazine so it will appeal
to people. Also most of the responses I got were from teenagers aged 16-19 which my
singer for the products is aged as it might attract more people as they're similar ages.
Another thing that my audiences responded on was that they preferred pop music
which I am wanting to do.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
The advantages: I distributed my survey by sending it to people on blackboard by a link
or by email. Which is helpful as its easy to send by email and it’s quick, doesn’t stop
you from doing anything as it doesn’t take long to do.
The disadvantages: If you don’t have a lot of people on your email it can slow you
down or you send the survey over and they don’t do it. It can slow you down as you
will have to remind them to do it, or you will need to find someone else which might
be hard if you dont have a large selection of people to send it to.

2. Research

  • 2. Existing ProductThe masthead is big and bold making it stand out a lot by it having a bold bright background. Also it having colour in the letters ‘a’ and ‘d’ making it pop even more with it being unique. The text on the magazine is very easy to read, making it easy for people to read. Also they have made the important things or the more interesting parts bold to bring attention to them, which will make people want to find out more about it when they look inside. This makes the audience spot the magazine easier as well as it’s so vibrant and has a well know singer on the cover. The main image is of a celebrity who is well known called Katy Perry. She is wearing a dress that’s stands out by what is on it which is flower, which shows a feminine side to it that will attract women who are a similar age or younger to buy it this is because of the colours used on the magazine along with it having Katy Perry on it. Katy Perry is the main focus to the magazine as she is in the middle making her stand out the most to attract the audience when they first look at the magazine. Bu her being in the centre of the cover it will catch the audiences eyes as she’s the main focus. The layout to the magazine is very colourful with all the pinks and yellows making it pop which adds more to it than it just being a pink background. Also it looks like the background gets lighter near the name of the magazine and at Katy parry's face which make Katy stand out that catches us the audience to look at her. The sub headings on the magazine tells us information that is in the magazine, letting the audience know what they are getting in it. This helps people who don’t have time to look through it, they can just read the cover it makes the process quicker. It also has buzz words that bring the audiences attention to them areas. The angle Katy Perry is standing on the right third of the magazine and has her head looking straight at the audience bringing all the attention to her to then make our way round to everything else on the magazine.
  • 3. Existing ProductWith this cd cover it has a celebrity called Kehlani in the centre which brings attention to her first then letting people know that its her album, along with the name of the album which is called ‘sweet sexy savage’ on it as well if they recognize the song. The angle of the celebrity is in the middle third of the page facing us to catch our attention. Especially her fans see her straight away it will help the audience buy her products as she is on them. The background is very bright that brings attention to it which is good when the audience come to look for that specific product, or if they have never heard of it will still catch their attention as its bright. The main colour that is used in this image is pink which could give of the meaning; sweet, nice, playful, cute, romantic and charming which goes with the title to the cover as it has the word sweet in it. The background has also got the colour orange in it which is just round Kehlani making her pop out even more as the background is mainly pink, by having the orange around her draws our eyes straight to her. It also looks like with the colours mixing together looks like there’s clouds with the white detail with it making it have a calm look to it. Its very minimalist looking as it doesn’t have a lot of text on the cover apart from the name of the album, allowing the audience know it’s her album as they might recognize the song more than the actual singer. The text on the album is called ‘sweet sexy savage’ in a fancy, swirly font making it look different compared to others who come out with a album. I think that it looks good with the text as it is different, However people might find it hard to read as it is very swirly which could be bad if they don’t know her as an artist or know the songs she’s produced. This will help the audience looking for either her album or find something tat catches their eyes first.
  • 4. Existing Product With the tour poster it has one big picture of someone facing sideways at the top, which makes it stand out. It will also makes people want to look at it more as it has a unique design to it unlike other posters. It has the name of the poster at the top in clear text making it easy to read, along with not having anything else over it or anything in the background, its nice and clear making it stand out as there isn't any of that stuff around it, and will also make it easy for people to remember it when coming to research her, or wanting to remember the name of the poster when wanting to find out the dates to the tour. I find that because its very different to other tour poster it will attract the audience as it’s got a different look to it. The writing at the bottom shows all the dates clearly so the audience reading it will know when and what time to go see them, which is handy when it comes to people wanting to see you when you’re on tour. Also it has no fancy writing, its quite normal along with it being in capitals making it easy to read as well. It also has a look of minimalist to it, how it doesn’t really have a lot of text but still has the information on it telling you what you need. Also with the the picture it looks simple but complicated as well making it look different in a good way. The colours that have been used are mainly pinks and blacks. The look of the poster looks like its got a vintage look to it, as the colours aren't very vibrant and clean giving of the look of vintage. The picture of the girl in the middle is like she is in front of a sunset and her hair is blowing in the wind, along with it looking like there's clouds like she's outside, which links to the name at the top ‘The wooden sky’. The background is quite bland, with the neutral colour which is good in some cases as you can then read the text, to find out when the tour dates are. With the colour the pink gives off a girly vibe that might attract certain people, along with the black colour it’s a bold colour as it created the shadows in the picture on the poster creating more of an interesting look to it, rather than it just having a pink background then a girl wearing black they made it look like its faded in with each other making it look vintage and unique.
  • 5. Existing ProductOn the tour poster it has the dates to the event letting people know when and where it is making it easy for the audience who are interested to attend. The price for tickets is also on the cover allowing people to know how much everything is before going. This is very clear to read as it has the important information that you may need to know. It is in large text size compared to the smaller text that might not be as important or it would be the same text size, as the important information that stand out to the audience eyes. The layout of the poster is very minimalist as its only got 2 colours which are; pink and black with the pink being in the background making that pop the most, but then having the black text in the picture as well, it makes them two colours go well together as they both pop the most as there is only two colours as well, instead of having more it might take away from what is important like the information that tells you where, when and the prices to it all. This makes the audience want to buy it because of the way the poster is set up how the writing is close together you don’t have to look around to find out the information to the tour dates, its in bold and in the middle which might help people buy it as its helpful. It also had a cool look to it which might make people want to buy it as it has an old looking look to it, like a vintage look which people might like if they're into that type of thing. Another thing with the picture of the women the lighting is making her face light up the most, which makes our eyes focus on that first to then move to the background, which is dark making her stand out even more. The women is on the right third of the page letting the rest of the space be filled up with the information on where and when to attend.
  • 6. • In these existing products they have made the females on theses products look elegant meaning they might of put a filter over them or made their skin look smoother, glowy or edited the parts of their body to look flattering. This might make the audience think why they don’t look like the image that’s on the magazines which can cause people to get insecure about themselves. When women read the magazines they identify certain ‘imaginary communities’ by modeling the behaviour and styles of the communities they might feel hat they're sustaining their relationship with them. Also women might identify with an idealized community construction beauty and seek to costume products.
  • 7. Research Analysis • What common features do the researched products have? – The products I have picked all have similar colours on them for example the pinks which is what I would like to go with as it’s a girly colour and what I want to go for I feel like it’s the best colour to go with as well as other neutral colours that will also attract males as pink is quite girly. – Another thing that the products have in common is the texts font is very similar as its very simple hasn’t got a fancy font that might be hard to read. • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? – I will include the simple fonts and the colour pattern with different shades of pinks as well as the neutral colours to attract more of the audience rather than just having pink which might not appeal to males.
  • 9. Audience research • Observation: There's more males that have done my survey, meaning males might be interested however it might be because I sent to more males. • What this says about my audience: My audience is 30% females and 70% males. This shows that there's a variety of males and females, making it useful for me as they might like what my product is going to be. • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product is for both genders, however females might prefer it a little bit more as the singer is a female which might attract more girls around her age or younger as it might relate to them rather than boys. Although males might still enjoy the music.
  • 10. Audience research • Observation: The ages that is popular in this survey is mainly teenagers aged 16-19. • What this says about my audience: My audience is 90% for age 16-19 which shows that more teenagers are interested rather than 20+ where that is 10%. • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to teenagers a little more as they're are more teenagers that voted which is also good for me as my singer is around that age.
  • 11. Audience research • Observation: People like ready magazines as they’re interesting and like the colours that are used like bright vibrant colours that stands out to them. Also with the images that are in there as well to make it more interesting to look at. • What this says about my audience: 80% of people like magazines as they’re are interesting and like to read things that they like. 20% of people don’t like them as they’re are boring and there's too much writing on them. • How will your product appeal to this audience: This is helpful as it helps with me wanting to carry on with my idea of doing a magazine as more people like magazines also to not add too much text as some people may not like that but still add some under an image or anything else that people might be interested in.
  • 12. Audience research • Observation: People prefer pop music along with old ones which is good as I am wanting to do pop music as its what I like as well. • What this says about my audience: This says about my audience is that they prefer newer music over rock, dance etc. they might like newer music like pop because its different to other music and may help them in their lives as music now is about people problems. • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to my audience by it being pop music which will attract more younger people as that’s what people are interested in at the moment.
  • 13. Audience research • Observation: My audience are preferring the name ‘Shuffle’ by it being at 60% which is higher than the other names that I picked which is ’Sing’ which got 10% and ’Loud’ that got 30%. • What this says about my audience: This means that my audience prefer the name Shuffle because the way I thought of it is like you shuffle through your songs which makes sense when it come to music so I thought I would link it to my product. • How will your product appeal to this audience: This will appeal to my audience because I'm choosing the name they're wanting for my magazine which is good as I'm getting my audience involved in my products.
  • 14. Audience research • Observation: With this one there's two colours that are the same percentage and they're pastels and primary colours both being at 40% where neutral colours is at 20% meaning that isn't the most wanted colour. • What this says about my audience: This says about my audience that they like primary colours and pastels the most meaning they like the look of colour that pop, where with the neutrals they aren't very exciting and doesn't really attract people as much. • How will your product appeal to this audience: This will appeal to my audience as I am using the colours they’re wanting the most along with what I am wanting to do as well which will help attract more people.
  • 15. Audience research • Observation: All of the responses are yes music does change their moods, which is good as music is used a lot wherever you go. • What this says about my audience: This says about my audience is that they listen to music a lot by how it helps with their moods and they just like music in general. • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to this audience because they like to listen to music when they want to change their mood or when they want to listen to it in the background when they’re doing something.
  • 16. Audience research • Observation: There is three the same percentage which are pop, indie and rap at 30% where with rock it’s at 10% and dance has no percentage meaning no one listens to that type of music. • What this says about my audience: What this says about my audience is that they are into different type music not just one which shows they’re creative with music not just pop which most people listen to now. • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to this audience by having the music mainly pop which is what I would like my singer to be classed by but still have a indie/rap bit in it maybe as they are the other popular type of music that was chosen as well which will then attract the audience that are interested in that music.
  • 17. Audience research • Observation: Most popular thing that was mentioned was images/ colours and what its about was the main things my audience wanted the most. • What this says about my audience: What this says about my audience is that they want bright colours to catch their attention which will go with the images, As well as the colour would be from the images that I will be choosing. Another thing is they like it to be interesting about what its about, so music they want information about the singer and the instruments etc. • How will your product appeal to this audience: I will make my product appeal to this audience by doing all them things I have said by adding images with bright colours along with that. Also with information about the singer to make it more interesting to the audience reading it.

What sort of music do you like to listen to the most? – I usually listen to old top hits because I think the new ones make me feel boring easily.
  • 20. Interview 1 • Observation: I want this magazine to have the reader involved. • What this says about my audience: What this says about my audience is that the audience need some input to my magazine to show what they have told me what they like is involved in my products. • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to this audience because I am involving them in my work by what they are telling me what they would like to see like colours and text.
  • 21. Interview 2 1. Do you think that people who might not enjoy music might possibly changed their minds from doing the questionnaire? – Potentially, because most things can be persuasive. But on the other hand people have a tendency to stick with what they know, so its 50/50 2. What would encourage you to read a magazines? – Good content about current topics, and good images with context to the articles raised. 3. Would you be interested in a cd cover and why? – Yes but i would only be interested if it was nice and simple or if it was full of life and standing out to people who might not have heard the artist, showing a bold attitude to new listeners. 4. What would you like to see on my products (magazine, poster and cd) and why? – Bold colours dependant on what your creating, or good designs that are well thought out and have meaning behind them. 5. What sort of music do you like to listen to the most? – I personally listen bits of everything as long as it stands for something positive.
  • 22. Interview 2 • Observation: Would like what my reader says has an involvement in my products as it helps me improve my work. • What this says about my audience: This says about my audience is that they want to help me out to improve my work to make it the best it can be and they're doing that by telling me what they want to see. • How will your product appeal to this audience: My product will appeal to this audience as I have read what they are interested in and will include it which is getting them involved and they will then be attracted to my products because i added what they wanted.
  • 23. Audience Profile Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience Age Range 16-19 • My products will appeal to this age because what I’m doing is about music and I am wanting to do a singer so I will be needing a model to be the singer. I’m also wanting my model to be a similar age to my audience which might attract more people that age as well because she is a similar age. Gender Female/Male • For my products, I'm wanting it to target both genders as I want everyone to see my products. However on my questionnaire there's more males who did it but I feel that I sent it to more boys but because there are more males that have done it, it shows that they might be interested in my products. Psychographic Type A • My products wont effect any society. My products will be original and thought-out so it wont offend anyone . Social Status B,C1,C2,D,E • My products will be easy to find and get. In the magazine the cd will be in the magazine as well so you will be getting two products in one.
  • 25. Research Evaluation • Give an overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method – Product Research This helped me with my final product because it made me think of different ideas, for example when it came to thinking of colours for the magazine, cd cover and the poster i could look back at my work to either remind myself or do add more work which will improve my work. Also to keep my theme that I’m wanting to do all the same. With the poster I can look back to the style I liked to get inspiration from it to help me think of more ideas, to help me make my work look creative also to make it look more realistic. With the cd cover again, can look at other products to help me think of ideas that will improve my work, also with what I’m wanting to do is to have the cd and the magazine be one thing together, so I need to look back at the research I have done to keep the colour scheme the same which will also help people out when it comes to the singers products being the same to find easily. – Questionnaires With the questionnaire it helps a lot as you get to see what people are interested in it about your products, or just what they’re generally interested in. This will then help me add to my products the things that they like which will more people buy my products because I have included their ideas to it to then make them buy them as it has something they enjoy. Rather than just having the things I want in it which might not appeal to everyone so getting other peoples ideas help. Interviews With the interviews they were helpful as well as the questionnaire as you get to get other peoples ideas which help even more as I can ask more questions or make some of the questions I asked in more depth. By asking other audiences it helps me in my work as you can see their perspective of it.
  • 26. Research Evaluation – What sort of a response did you get? The response I got was good as they liked the ideas that I came up with, for example they like listening to music along with magazines they like to read things that they’re interested in, which helps when I’m wanting to do a music magazine so it will appeal to people. Also most of the responses I got were from teenagers aged 16-19 which my singer for the products is aged as it might attract more people as they're similar ages. Another thing that my audiences responded on was that they preferred pop music which I am wanting to do. – How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage The advantages: I distributed my survey by sending it to people on blackboard by a link or by email. Which is helpful as its easy to send by email and it’s quick, doesn’t stop you from doing anything as it doesn’t take long to do. The disadvantages: If you don’t have a lot of people on your email it can slow you down or you send the survey over and they don’t do it. It can slow you down as you will have to remind them to do it, or you will need to find someone else which might be hard if you dont have a large selection of people to send it to.
