Macbeth Themes Essay
Crafting an essay on the themes of Macbeth can be both intellectually stimulating and
challenging. The intricate layers of ambition, power, guilt, and fate within Shakespeare's tragedy
demand a thorough exploration and analysis. Delving into the psyche of characters and
dissecting the subtle nuances of the play requires a keen understanding of literary devices,
historical context, and the intricacies of human nature.
One of the difficulties lies in avoiding superficial observations, as the themes in Macbeth are
deeply interconnected, often requiring a nuanced approach to draw meaningful conclusions. The
challenge is not merely summarizing the plot or regurgitating well-known themes but rather
providing insightful interpretations and demonstrating a comprehensive grasp of the material.
Additionally, navigating the labyrinth of critical interpretations and scholarly debates
surrounding Macbeth can be overwhelming. Striking a balance between incorporating existing
analyses and presenting original insights can be a delicate task. The essay must reflect an
independent and thoughtful engagement with the text while acknowledging the broader
academic discourse.
Furthermore, the language and style of the essay should mirror the complexity of the play itself.
Achieving eloquence and coherence while tackling profound themes demands a mastery of
language and rhetorical devices. Crafting a compelling argument that seamlessly weaves together
evidence, quotes, and analysis is a skill that requires honing.
In essence, writing a Macbeth themes essay necessitates a fusion of literary acumen, critical
thinking, and effective communication. It is an endeavor that challenges one to delve deep into
the recesses of Shakespeare's work, grapple with complex ideas, and present a cohesive and
compelling narrative. While the journey may be arduous, the reward lies in the opportunity to
unravel the timeless themes embedded in Macbeth, offering a richer understanding of both the
play and the human experience.
For those seeking assistance in navigating this intricate task, it's worth considering that similar

Espn Case Study Analysis
To what extent are ESPN subscribers committed to the ESPN network and brand
compared to on the air talent on the network?
It s no secret that ESPN has lost a multitude of popular sports broadcasters over the
last few years. Many have joined FOX Sports, after being unable to come to terms
with ESPN s contract deals. These personalities include big names such as, Colin
Cowherd, Jason Whitlock, Skip Bayless, Shannon Spake and Chris Broussard.
Although moving forward without these reporters will save the company money, one
must consider how these transitions are impacting ESPN s viewership. Colin
Cowherd was with ESPN radio since 2003 until Fox Sports outbid ESPN in a $6
million deal. Skip Bayless also decided to jump ship this past April. According to
Forbes, Bayless signed a $26 million deal which included $5 million annually and a
$4 million bonus. Bayless teamed up with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the third quarter and the ratings are in the millions while Fox Sports 1 ratings are
in the high hundreds of thousands. He went on to mention Fox Sports Jamie

Summary Of Titus Livius The History Of Rome
In Titus Livius The History of Rome, Book 1, he tells the story of the rape of the
Sabine women. Though he is a historian, I do not feel that he well represents the
true emotion and feeling of the women, as is common for the time period.
Throughout the telling, Livy fails to discuss the emotions of the women and does
not give an accurate representation of what happened to the captured Sabine women
once they were taken by the Roman men. His word choice is purposefully vague
and nondescript to make the tale more appealing to men of the time. In chapter nine
of The History of Rome, Book 1, Livywrites the beginning of the tale: how Romulus
needed women to keep his new city alive and was rejected by all of the families he
approached. This leads Romulus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the first chapter he writes his own version of the tale, showing the true emotions of
the captured women:
As doves flee the eagle in a frightened crowd, as the new born lamb runs from the
hostile wolf: so they fled in panic from the lawless men, and not one showed the
color she had before. (Ovid 1.117 20)
In this passage, Ovid displays the panic and fear that comes with being taken away
from your family which is missing in Livy s version of the story. Rather than using
Livy s style of minimal description, Ovid uses similes to show the emotion felt by
the Sabines in their situation. From there, he continues to show the violence that is
enacted upon the Sabines with the line The captive girls were led away as plunder
for the marriage bed (Ovid 1.125). From that line, the reader instantly knows that
each woman is being raped rather than slept with, as Livy s version seems to say.
Although Rome in seventh century BC was a much different time than the present, I
feel that Livy, as a historian, should have written the tale from a more realistic and
accurate perspective. Because his telling was not detailed, the story is easy to
The Psychoanalytic Theories Of Freud s Theory
Personality is what makes people who they are. Some people have different
personalities others have very similar personalities; but nobody s personality is
exactly the same. In the past many people have tried to understand personality and
explain it through theories. This paper, will discuss the differences between the
psychoanalytic theories of Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, and Alfred Adler. It will then
show the characteristics of which I agree with as well as the characteristics that I
disagree with. Furthermore, it will describe the stages of Freud s theory and explain
the characteristics of personality using these components; And finally, I will describe
uses of three Freudian defense mechanisms by using real life examples.
In regard to the psychoanalytical theories of Freud, Jung and Adler, there are
several similarities; however, there are also several differences. Freud s theory
focuses on the sexual perspective of the mind. In his theory, the three basic
components are id, ego, and superego. Jung s theory is to Adler, the neuroses consists
in the effort for the individual to overcome the feeling of inferiority, and the outward
signs and symptoms are the manifestations of those dexterities developed to this end.
The Adlerian concept serves to bridge the gap between the organists and the
functionalists (White, 1917). Jung and Adler were associated with Freud and took
excessive interest in his theory of psychoanalysis. Psychoanalysis has demonstrated,
the importance of
The Power Of Nature In Frankenstein By Mary Shelley s...
Throughout the novel, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, scientist Victor Frankenstein
repeatedly meddles with the power of nature while building his creation, without
applying the knowledge and consideration of the power of nature and its
repercussions. Thus, man should respect the power of nature and its consequences.
Natureis omnipotent, therefore, man should obey nature in order to avoid it from
its aftermath, portraying Shelley s point that if man obeys nature, nature will not
destroy something. There will be consequences if man does try to discipline nature
which displays Shelley s similar idea that if man tries to counter nature, man will
eventually fall. Nature can improve or restore one s mind who is in misery or
someone who is suffering proving all in all, if man accepts and does not ignore the
capability of nature, then they will thrive and be joyous and pleasant. Overall, if
one does not tamper with nature, nature shall not tamper with one. One of Shelley
s main points is that man is not equipped to tamper with the powers of the natural
world. After Victor s fall and almost death, he meets Robert Walton, an explorer
who is trying to find the North Pole and to exceed the average knowledge. Victor
urges him to not make the same mistake he had. Victor realizes that nature is all
powerful in his adventure and tells Walton how dangerous the acquirement of
knowledge [is] and that man will fail if he aspires to become greater than his nature
will allow (Shelley 39).
Electricity Generation
Electricity generation is the process of creating electricity from other forms of energy.
The fundamental principles of electricity generation were discovered during the
1820s and early 1830s by the British scientist Michael Faraday. His basic method is
still used today: electricity is generated by the movement of a loop of wire, or disc of
copper between the poles of a magnet.[1]
For electric utilities, it is the first process in the delivery of electricity to consumers.
The other processes, electricity transmission, distribution, and electrical power
storage and recovery using pumped storage methods are normally carried out by the
electrical power industry.
Electricity is most often generated at a power station by electromechanical ... Show

The combustion of fossil fuels supplies most of the heat to these engines, with a
significant fraction from nuclear fission and some from renewable sources. The
modern steam turbine invented by Sir Charles Parsons in 1884 today generates
about 80 percent of the electric power in the world using a variety of heat sources.

The Collapse Of The Minoan
One may ask, who are the Minoans? Well they are considered by many Historians
and Archeologists to be the first great European Civilization. Some people
believed that this was the mythical land of Atlantis. They were located near the
Aegean Sea and lands such as Greece, Troy and Asia Minor. One interesting fact is
that these people never called themselves the Minoans. There wasn t any name
listed in the history books for these people but the Ancient Crete Civilization. They
were known as the Crete Civilization because they lived on the island of Crete
which is now part of Greece. It wasn t until a 19th century British Archeologist, Sir
Author Evans gave them the name, The Minoans. He gave them this name
because he believed he had found the legendary palace of King Minos. There has
been many civilization collapses over the World s history, but most can be
explained in great detail. There are some that are very mysterious and not
definitively explained. The collapse of the Minoan people happens to be one of
those mysterious collapses which ranks 3rd in the top ten most mysterious collapses
of the world and is still to this day debated on what actually caused their demise.
There are many factors that go into the collapse of a civilization, but this kind of
catastrophe doesn t just happen in a blink of an eye this is something that happens
over a long period of time. This paper will touch on the climate and environment, the
time period and culture, how they became

cooking and eating is an activity that brings families close together. Lastly, Italy s
geography has led it to become a popular destination. Italy s geography helped it
develop into a powerful country. Italy s historical development came from being
power country. To this day tourists come to Italy to see ruins from the Roman Empire,
or to ride in a Gondola in Venice, or the ruins left behind after the volcanic eruption
in Pompeii. The city state Vatican City is a popular destination. Vatican City is where
the pope lives, and home of the Roman Catholic Church. Vatican City s religious
connection and world famous artwork makes it a popular attraction. The agricultural

Wholesale Funding, Bank Runs and Liquidity Freezes In the 2007/8 Financial Crisis
Introduction
Banks make loans which are not quickly sold at high price. The demand deposits by
Banks issue allow their depositors to make withdraws at their convenience. Therefore
a liquidity mismatch exists between a bank s liabilities which are more liquid
compared to the bank s assets. It leads to a problem in case a large number of
depositors decide to withdraw at the same time. Such a situation is called a bank run.
To prevent bank runs there are policies by the banks to stop runs, while the
government provides deposit insurance for prevention of bank runs. The canonical
model of depositor runs by Diamond and Dybvig (1983) provides an explanation as
to why banks issue deposits which have greater liquidity than the bank s assets and
also explain why banks are prone to depositor runs (Diamond, Dybvig, 1983). This
model focuses on bank runs along other financial crises and the mechanisms to
prevent such financial crises. This paper discusses how traditional bank runs is
different from runs in the 2008 financial crisis and the innovation of wholesale
funding.
Bank runs
Diamond and Dybvig (1983) provide that the main function of banks is the creation
of liquidity. It means offering deposits which have a higher liquidity compared to the
assets they
The Military Decision-Making Process

achieve the set outcome(s).
This process is a combination of theoretical and highly detailed characteristics of
planning and incorporates actions taken by the commander, and the staff. The military
decision making process allows leaders to apply carefulness, clear and precise sound
judgment, common sense, and concrete knowledge. These characteristics are needed
to understand static and ever changing situations and to develop solutions to whatever
the problem may be. This process improves understanding of all parties involved in
the operation and guides the element throughout the preparation
Time Warner vs Orc
Time Warner vs ORC
Optical Recording Corporation (ORC) was established in 1984 with the main
purpose of capitalizing on the technological innovation of James T. Russell. Russell s
new technology was based on his recent invention that revolutionized recorded music
storage devices. Although Russell was not the first to come up with the concept of
the Compact Disk (CD), he was among the first people to patent this technology. By
1985, Russell held over 25 patents in 7 countries across the world to various
technologies related to optical recording and playback. Russell s intellectual property
was purchased by ORC in Toronto in 1985, the firm then proceeded to notify a
number of CD manufacturers that their CD technology was infringing on ... Show

It was key for ORC to sign Sony to a licensing agreement. Agreeing to Sony s terms
was a strategic move which not only solidified a revenue stream but also paved the
way for other firms to follow suit.
Upon signing Sony to a licensing agreement, Phillips Dupont seemed to follow suit
primarily to avoid costly litigation. Specifically, ORC managed to sign a licensing
agreement with Phillips on moderate terms that did not fully utilize the legal
leverage of ORC. In other words, ORC was not able to negotiate the license on their
terms but more out of desperation of signing a licensing agreement. Despite having
the upper hand, ORC was unable to capitalize on their strong position.
During the Sony deliberations, ORC was experiencing financial troubles in Canada.
The Canadian government wished to immediately resend their tax credits which
awarded ORC, as a research firm, $6.5 million Canadian dollars. Adamson refused to
pay the $6.5 million which was primarily based on the fact that ORC could not afford
to pay them. Nevertheless, the aforementioned decision of the Canadian government
was a potential threat to ORC, and could have resulted in a different business
development strategy employed by the company.
To capitalize on the recently successful licensing program, ORC turned their attention
towards the next largest manufacturer of CD media in the U.S. WEA Manufacturing

What is your opinion on the lack of funding for hospice education?
пЃ±What do you think the economic impacts of a bill such as HB 1339 would be on
the state; considering that Medicare and Medicaid currently fund hospice care?
пЃ±According to Ferris, Gomez, Furst, and Connor (2007), nurses can participate
in the role of an advocate and help educate legislators on the need for further
support and education. What other suggestions would you have for nurses who
would like to become more involved with health care bills? After the anticipation
of a face to face interview, the hope is that the telephone interview will go just as
well. In preparation for the interview, there will be a list of questions to ask so that
the interview will go smoothly. If there were a second meeting with Dr. Zerwas, the
hope would be that it will be to again ask for support with a health care bill, or even
provide support to his health care bills.
TSA
TSA Paper
TSA, or Transportation Security Administration, needs to be improved. It is time
consuming, invasive and often ineffective because of pat downs and body scans.
TSA is a major part of American airport security. In a world where such precautions
are necessary, the system should be vastly upgraded to actually provide the security it
claims to give.
Some children dream of acquiring X Ray vision as a superpower, but did it ever
occur to them that it strips a person of their rights and degrades them? Body
scanners used in airports put people in a vulnerable state as a naked image of them
is captured. Another way TSA attacks an individual s rights is when they are patted
down in front of their family or friends and countless strangers. This is the perfect
opportunity for the worker to get handsy and grope an innocent person waiting to
get on a plane. On top of how invasive TSA is, it is also ineffective and therefore
abusing people s rights for an unbacked reason. According to a leaked internal
report, TSA Red Team members, whose job is to test performance, were able to get

bladder cancer survivor being covered in urine after a TSA pat down, and a young
boy having his shirt removed during a secondary screening, (Carriero). A man by the

passengers who go through the (airport security) scanners sixteen people may contract

I m standing in line at the OMSI empirical theatre with my sister and friend, I
looked down at the ticket in my hands, and I got a surge of excitement throughout
my body. I knew I was going to see one of the best movies in my entire life. I knew
that everyone in that line was going to as well; reason being it was a Hayao Miyazaki
movie, the founder of Studio Ghibli one of Japan s biggest franchise. I could say I
have never been acquainted with a soul who thought negatively towards these
movies created by Hayao Miyazaki. He is a very thought provoking being,
someone who can make you inspired and passionate towards living and breathing.
Not to mention each one of his key characters is a woman filled with independence
and integrity, which so often is not, emphasized enough. Correspondingly, I looked
down at my ticket a hundred times or more, the movie I was seeing was Porco
Rosso . The title may seem very strange in a sense, but this movie was a piece of art,
so much so, when it ended I had tears streaming down my cheeks and I walked crying
out the theatre. That is how much it moved me, but this isn t the only exclusive anime
saga that has made me cried before, my sister being included in this culture as much

What Effect Will the Concentration of Hydrochloric Acid...
Introduction In this chemical reaction, the magnesium will dissolve in the
hydrochloric acid to produce hydrogen gas. This is because magnesium is higher
than hydrogen in the reactivity series. Therefore, when the two reactants are
combined, a displacement reaction occus and the magnesium displaces the
hydrogen, forming magnesium chloride and hydrogen gas. Mg (s) + 2HCl (aq)
MgCl 2 (aq) + H 2 (g) Magnesium + Hydrochloric acid Magnesium Chloride +
Hydrogen Aim The aim of this investigation is to observe the effect that the
concentration of hydrochloric acid (independent variable) has on the rate of reaction
(dependent variable) between the magnesium ribbon and the hydrochloric acid....
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If there is more surface area exposed to the hydrochloric acid, the particles of acid
will have a greater area of magnesium to react with and form successful collisions,
thus increasing the rate of reaction. Volume of Hydrochloric Acid Used: An overall
volume of 50ml of hydrochloric acid and water should be used for every trial. If a
lesser volume is used, this will decrease the rate of reaction as there will be less
particles in the HCl to collide with the Mg particles, which will lessen the chance for
creating a successful collision, and thus lower the rate of the chemical reactions.
Timing of the experiment: Bung with delivery tube should be placed on the conical
flask as soon as possible after the magnesium ribbon is dropped. This will ensure that
as much of the hydrogen gas gets measured in the measuring cylinder above the
trough, in order to obtain accurate measurements when calculating the rate of
reactions. Stopwatch will begin as soon as the magnesium is dropped into the
hydrochloric acid, so that the timing of the reaction is measured accurately. Cleaning
of the magnesium: The ribbon of magnesium will be cleaned with sandpaper to
remove the coating on the magnesium metal caused by reactions with atmospheric
gases. This needs to be done so that the measuring cylinder measures the gas produced
from the reaction
Research Paper On Roberto Firmino
Big Game Player
Roberto Firmino also has the innate ability to turn up in the big games. We have
seen relatively little of him in the Premier League so far but his record in crunch
games is good. Against the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea
and Arsenal he has scored 5 and assisted 3 in 8 appearances across all competitions.
If you also simply look at the games where Liverpool made tough work of the
opposition, you will notice how crucial Roberto has been in the scoring. For
instance he struck twice in the 3 3 draw at Anfield to Arsenal, he scored twice and
assisted once in the thrilling last gasp 5 4 victory to Norwich at Carrow Road, he
scored one and assisted the other in a draw vs. Sunderland at Anfield and assisted
the only goal of the game at Anfield against league leaders Leicester. This of course

have fielded weakened teams . Hence, this statistic is a little difficult to trust.
However, two very obvious occasions when a strong side bereft of Roberto Firmino
has been fielded to detrimental effect are, Liverpool s away fixture at Old Traffold

I have learned from the computer analysis project that my intake in calcium is low,
and my intake in sodium is high. My DRI reports showed me that I am receiving
only 31% of the recommended daily value for calcium intake. An appropriate
amount of calcium is 1300 mg, but I consumed only 409 mg. My DRI reports also
showed me that I consumed above the recommended range for sodium. A deficiency
of calcium has serious effects just as a toxicity of sodium does. After reviewing my
reports, I learned that I need to change my diet and be more cautious about the
amounts of calcium and sodium that I consume.
In nutrition class, I learned that calcium is a mineral that an individual needs in
order to maintain healthy bones. If an individual does not consume enough
calcium than he or she is will be at risk of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a lack of
calcium in bones which is a loss of total bone mass, not just minerals. Bones
become weak and very brittle. This leads to fractures of the weight bearing bones,
such as those in the hips and spines. To prevent osteoporosis, I need to consume the
daily recommended value of calcium. Calcium is primarily found in dairy products
such as cheese and milk. Throughout September 30th to October 2nd, I did not
consume enough dairy products. Out of the 1300mg recommended value for calcium,
I only consumed 409 mg. I ate American processed cheese, scrambled eggs and
mashed potato which were prepared with milk, but that was not enough to meet the
The Normal Operation Of A Botnet
A.Botnet Life cycle
Processes involved in the normal operation of a botnet has no comprehensive
approach to either the stages encompassing the life cycle, or the lack of
compartmentalization between them (see Figure 1, Botnet Life cycle Taxonomy).
Apart from normal operations, so far there s no qualitative analysis on how these
stages should be characterized, defined, or distinguished. A proposed botnetlife cycle
stage starts with conception and ends with reaching the desired malicious intent, i.e. a
successful attack and can include DDoS, spam, phishing, or click fraud.
Corresponding mechanisms to these stages of the botnet life cycle are typically
focused on attempting to hide the botnet (communication processes, location of the
bots, and botmaster), some of these methods include IP spoofing, multi hopping,
polymorphism, and fast flux networks. (GarcД±a Teodoro, Macia Fernandez,
RodrД±guez Gomez, 2012). Any defensive approach to overcoming a botnet is
dedicated to preventing execution of a particular process in one of the botnet life
cycle stages or combine processes in one or more stages. Deterring execution of a
single stage in the botnet life cycle can thwart a malicious and devastating outcome.
In principle, prevention of hidden mechanisms doesn t suggest deterrence of the
botnet goal, but increases the probability that a botnet will be identified by a defense
method.

Analysis Of Plato s Apology
Wonder is the beginning of wisdom. (Socrates cite website). Socrates was the wisest
person in Athens according to the Oracle of Delphi. In Plato s Apology we read
about Socrates journey to find a man wiser than him, his trail, and finally his death.
First we will discuss what the Oracle of Delphi is. The Oracle of Delphi is a shrine
for the Greek gods that the pageants worshiped. In the Apology the Oracle of Delphi
tells Socrates that he is the wisest man in Athens. Socrates was shocked about this
statement so he went on a journey to find a man wiser than him. During his journey
Plato goes around Athens and ask the wisest people he knew questions about logic
but realized that they are not very wise themselves. This is how it is explained ...

The first charge against him was that he was corrupting the youth of Athens.
Socrates responds to this charge by saying it takes more than one person to corrupt
the youth , and that the youth are eager to learn. The second charge was not
believing in the Gods. But this is just the ingenious riddle of which I was speaking:
the demigods or spirits are gods, and you say first that I don t believe in gods, and
then again that I do believe in gods; that is, if I believe in demigods. For if the
demigods are the illegitimate sons of gods, whether by the Nymphs or by any other
mothers, as is thought, that, as all men will allow, necessarily implies the existence
of their parents . (The Apology). The people of Athens only put him on trial to get

Research Paper On Mad Cow Disease
Mad cow disease is a deadly disease caused by prions in the brains of cattle. The
real name of this disease is bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). Abnormal
prions are usually found in the brain tissue of many diseased cattle and they
transmit the infection. Many changes are seen in the brain of infected cattle.
Infection can lead to small holes in parts of the brain, giving the tissue a sponge
like appearance when viewed with a microscope. These small holes cause slow
decline in a cow s brain and eventually other symptoms develop affecting the whole
body. The cows then die.
If humans eat diseased cows, they can develop the human form of mad cow disease
known as Creutzfeldt Jakob disease (VCJD). Creutzfeldt Jakob disease can occur in

The doctor may ask about the person s eating patterns if BSE transmission is

the reality is that all prion diseases cause death. There are no effective treatments

extremely safe. Additionally, the number of cases in the U.K. has decreased
dramatically over the past decades. Still, the only absolute way to avoid infection is
to entirely eliminate the consumption of beef and other animals that may be prion
infected. The U.S. government has implemented a number of measures to prevent
BSE from entering the U.S. and to prevent the spread of the disease, as outlined by
the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). Some of these measures include the
Genre Analysis Of Mabel
One genre of podcast that I find intriguing for various nostalgic and inexplicably
self punitive reasons, is that which explores the eeriness of the world, reminiscent
in ways of old time horror radio shows. Mabel is a fictional narrative podcast
written and produced by Becca De La Rosa that follows the mysterious experiences
of Anna Limon, the in home caregiver of Sally Martin, an elderly woman living in
the remote countryside. In the first episode of Mabel, The Letters, Anna tries to get
in contact with Sally s estranged granddaughter, Mabel, after finding a box of
unopened letters in the attic that sends the elderly woman into a fit of terror. Sword

with unsettling music, which is a common motif that continues throughout the
episode. On the other hand, however, when he is recounting the night of the murders
from the perspective of a neighbour, Boudet includes a cheesy gunshot sound effect
that takes away from the gravity of the moment. There are also a number of
moments where unsettling music is played for a significant period of time, around
15 20 seconds, after Boudet reveals a key part of the story that in my opinion, felt
awkwardly lengthy. While I found the music itself to be effective in evoking feelings
of unease, the timing of certain musical elements and sound effects was not quite
right and thus distracting at

Impact Of Trade On Intra Trade Industry
In the globalization era nowadays, trading has become an important activity across
all regions. Trading is known as an exchange of good and services from country to
another country. Commonly, trading is necessary due to the limited resources are
scattered unfairly between other regions and some countries are better producing
products than other (Lipsey R., 1960). However, trading not solely occur to the
scarce resources but also happens to other country that can specialize in similar
goods and services. For instance, Malaysia and Thailand are better in producing rice
but yet they do trading of rice with one another. This trade action is known as intra
industry trade. (Krugman P.,1991) stated that intra industry trade is a two way trade
in similar goods or in other words known as an exchange of similar goods between
countries in same industry. It is important for intra industry trade to grow in the
current emerging market since there trading has become beneficial activity. Intra
trade industry consists of homogeneous products and heterogeneous products. It is
vital to acknowledge why economists have turned their attention to intra industry
trade. Standard trade theory was introduced and founded by David Ricardo in the
period of 1817 when he formulated what we now call the theory of comparative
advantage. Comparative advantage deals with all sorts of goods and services that are
caused by the differences among countries. Ricardo highlighted the key ingredient of

Reward Systems
REWARD SYSTEM One of important attributes of work organization is the ability
to give reward to their members. Pay, promotions, fringe benefits, and status
symbols are perhaps the most important rewards. Because these rewards are
important, the ways they are distributed have a profound effect on the quality of
work life as well as on the effectiveness of organization. Organization typically rely
on reward system to do four things : 1. Motivate employees to perform effectively. 2.
Motivate employee to join the organization. 3. Motivate employee to come to work,

The Secret Service Agent ( Drug Enforcement

Do you have what it takes to become a secret service agents? What are the
requirements to become a secret service agent? What are different types of
agencies that an agent could work for? Well a secret service is an agent that protects
and carry executive orders from their commanders to carry on their missions. The
U.S Secret Service has two major areas they are required to do. They are to prevent
financial crimes and protection who harms or threat our homeland which is the
United Statesof America. They have missions that take place all over the world.
Agents have different agencies they could work for like the DEA (Drug
Enforcement Administration). The DEA which is the (Drug Enforcement

When the DEA was first created it had about 1,740 secret agents and a budget less
than $75 million. Now in present time the agency now has about 5,000 agents and a
budget that had increase to $2 million.

As her mom twirls around in front of a mirror again, the girl steps onto the pile of
clothes on the floor and whispers, Mom, can we go now? The next scene takes
place in front of a public restroom, where the girl holds her mom s hands and
smiles. Not far away from the girl, a little boy holding a Pull up diaper hurriedly runs
into the men s bathroom by himself. This seemingly harmless commercial can
actually be very misleading to young children. The mom is not only playing the
traditional role of a housewife, but also suggesting to her daughter that appearance
is very important to women because they have to attract men with their charming
looks. Just as O Connor states, Little girls must be prepared for a life of buying
clothes and cosmetics and all those other wonderful things that will make them
irresistibly alluring objects. In addition to the emphasis on materialism and a need
for the perfect body image, it also seems that girls are always associated with tender
loving dolls such as the teddy bear, and toy cars and video games are certainly out of
the picture. The little boy running to the bathroom is another subtle example of

Care and Treatment for the Mentally Ill
Care and treatment for the mentally ill is administered differently by modern
standards compared to those of the nineteenth century. Reasonably, the medications
and understanding of the mind were not as advanced resulting, therefore, in a
simple diagnoses for a much more complicated ailment. Despite some of the major
differences between today and then, there is a consistent appreciation for
examining the connection between patients and art. The value of this examination
is even more beneficial when the patient is a trained artist like Richard Dadd.
Richard Dadd (1817 1886) is known and recognized not only for his artistic
contributions, but also because of the circumstances under which many of his
works were created. As a trained artist, he was admitted to the Royal Academy at
the age of twenty. His recognized talent led him to his association with Sir Thomas
Phillips, whom he accompanied in 1842 on a trip traveling through Europe and the
Middle East. It was during the end of this trip, and upon his return home, that Dadd
began experiencing his mental disturbances that led to the murder of his father.
Without a trial, Dadd was classified as insane and placed in the care of Bethlem
Hospital. Dadd spent the reminder of his life in hospital care until his death in 1886.
During his hospitalized years Dadd, with the encouragement and allowance of his
doctors, continued to create works of art from his sketches and memory. The mental
illnessthat inflicted Richard Dadd did not

Luck Egalitarianism Summary
In reaction to gross and compounding economic disparities in the international sphere,
cosmopolitan philosophers like Moellendorf have addressed the international state,
claiming that the degree of inequality is unjustifiable. Moellendorf operates with a
Rawlsian understanding of ethical relations, but expands this notion from the
domestic sense into the international sense, claiming that the degree of globalization
is sufficient such that it creates an association in which the interdependence is
sufficiently strong, largely non voluntary and constitutive of a significant part of the
background rules that govern members lives, forming the basis of duties for
distributive justice. From this understanding for the need for global distributive
justice, Moellendorf claims that the main strategy to address this inequality is
through a global progressive tax. Moellendorf s conception, however, overstates the
degree to which globalization has created international cohesiveness. Though a
progressive tax would certainly address global inequality, a... Show more content on

Luck egalitarianism refers to the arbitrary methods by which various states came
to be in possession of their resources and the need for a system of redistribution
similar to Moellendorf s global tax in order to address the systems of inequality
arising from arbitrarily having more or less valuable resources. Wenar, however,
disagrees with the notion of a global tax, citing concerns over sentiments of distrust
in states recently liberated from former colonial states. In response to this distrust,
Wenar proposes a system of popular resource sovereignty, in which the value derived
from a nation s resources are not subject to global taxation, but rather are directed
toward the benefit of the nation s people rather than a nation s
Alkite Synthesis
On 1/7, the Alky started to only process FCCU BB and no longer process Coker BB.
Alkylation chemistry neither likes contaminants nor diluents. Contaminants are direct
acid consumers. The more contaminants in the feed, the more often the unit will be at
an acid constraint. Diluents do not reaction in alkylationchemistry but they take up
space and decrease the effective area for isobutane and olefin to contact. With less
contact, side reactions like polymerization are more likely to occur; polymerization
reactions are a direct acid consumer.
Comparing the FCCU and Coker BB, Coker BB contains far more contaminants and
diluents than FCCU BB (see Table 2, pg.4).
By lowering the amount of contaminants and diluents, acid consumption was reduced

The best way to decrease acid residence time is by lowering the level in the settlers.
PAR has abnormally high settler levels (45 60% vs. typical 15 20%). The acid
consumption impact of running at the appropriate levels in the settler is 0.15 lb
/gal or 1.3 MM$/yr in savings (1.1 MM$/yr at cooling constraint and 1.3 MM$/yr
at acid constraint). Process Support recommends maintaining a level of 15 20% in
C and A settler and a level of 40% in B settler. B settler should be run higher than C
or A because of risk of sending lighter hydrocarbons to the spent acid tank.
3.Emulsion recycle
Emulsion recycle minimizes undesirable side reactions, such as polymerization, in
the acid settler by keeping the olefins and alkyl sulfates (esters) in contact with
isobutane. This results in improved Alkylate quality with reduced acid consumption.
Process Support recommends opening all emulsion recycle valves 100%.
In general, maximum acid recycle rates and minimum acid residence time promote
better Alkylate product quality, and decrease the potential for polymerization. Net
effect of implementing these steps is $5.3 MM$/yr due to reduced acid consumption
and lower endpoint.
Operations began lowering settler levels and opening acid recycle valves in
February. Progress on this effort will be reported in the next bi monthly

It has long been said that children are the future, and what way better to corrupt that
future than by educational indoctrination? Many students who have gone to public
school and switched to private school realize that most of what they were being
taught was nothing more than radical leftism and revisionist history. Children are
taught to monitor their parents recycling habits and report them to the teachers to
help keep the planet green (Snyder). As one parent reported to Snyder, They re on
my case about getting a hybrid car. They want me to replace all the light bulbs in
the house with energy saving bulbs. This radical left wing indoctrination has seeped
into the very fabric of children s minds has started to corrupt the future of these
young individuals. A similarity can be drawn between these instances and the
children in Orwell s 1984. Those children are also indoctrinated from a young age
and taught to report their parents suspicious behavior to Party members. Winston s
neighbors are actually reported to The Party by their own children (Orwell ). Though
this seems trivial at best, this is an example of leftist indoctrination being
implemented in the public school system. The foremost example of indoctrination is
the banning of Christian text and prayer on school grounds. This is seen by many as
an attempt to disrupt the moral fabric of society and promote an

Fortune 500 Research Paper Project
This research paper project will be about Amazon.com, Inc. Amazon.com is a
shopping site online and it can be access anywhere as long as you have internet. It
is a well known internet based retailer and it s available worldwide. Amazon Inc is
known for its fastness and convenience, which is a better way to shop for things
nowadays, because not everyone wants to go through a hassle of looking for things
in store, and having to carry shopping bags from place to place. Amazon.com sells
everything, from electronic devices, DVDs, digital movies/music, to household
furniture, books, school supplies and beauty products. In my opinion, Amazon.com
attracts buyers because they sell products with good deals and sometimes come
with free shipping which is always a plus. Specially, Amazon.com sells some
products that you rarely or never see in retailer stores. The primarily products that
they are known for are their signature Kindle, which is similar to a tablet but its
common use is for reading e books. Amazon.com gets their products from retailers
like Nordstrom, Target, Michaels, ... and individual sellers that want to sell their stuff,
either used or brand new. Some big companies take advantage and sell their goods
through Amazon.com so they can sell more products.
Based on the statistics of Fortune 500, Amazon.com ranked number 29, right before
Wells Fargo and after Citigroup, 2 common banks in the United States.
Death On The Nile By Agatha Christie
Along with Agatha Christie s other famous works, Christie wrote the book Death
on the Nile. This book once again includes Mrs. Christie s most famous character,
Hercule Poirot. At the beginning of the book, Poirot is out to eat in London.
Hercule notices a couple much in love, Jacqueline de Bellefort and Simon Doyle.
Jacqueline does not come from a very wealthy family. The day after the couple was
seen out on a date, Jacqueline takes Simon to meet her friend Linnet Ridgeway,
hoping that she will give Simon a job. Once after they had met, Simon left Jacquelin
to marry Linnet.
Poirot next sees Simon and his new wife while he himself is on holiday. The couple
were on their honeymoon in Egypt. While at a hotel in Cairo, Hercule sees the
Doyles and Jacqueline meeting at the hotel. After the couple s conversation with
Jacqueline, Linnet comes to Poirot and and tells him that Jacqueline has been
stalking them ever since the wedding. Poirot tells Linnet that there is nothing he can
legally do to stop her. He, however, does try to talk with Jacqueline in private and
ask her to stop her evil ways. Jacqueline tells Poirot that she wants to kill Linnet. She
then pulls out a small pistol and show it to him.
The Doyle s try to elude Jacqueline s stalking by staying a longer time on their
honeymoon. They decide to go on a cruise on the Nile River along with Poirot. To the
newlyweds dismay, Jacqueline turns up on the same boat as the couple. Poirot also
sees someone on the boat, an
Summary Of On Not Shoplifting Louise Bogan s The Blue...
In Julia Alvarez s poem On Not Shoplifting Louise Bogan s The Blue Estuaries ,
the poet uses poetic devices to convey the speaker s discovery of a poem that
catches her attention so much that she feels a rush of excitement that wants to hold
on to as long as she can. She discovers about herself how captivated she can be from
a poem and how she would even shoplift to keep the rush. The exciting tone is
revealed through the entrancement of the girl. The smooth, calming imagery shows
how impacted she was by the poem and how uncertain she was about her situation.
The selection of detail shows how the book was unique and how she eventually saw
who she was becoming.
The tone of the passage begins as a calm environment. The girl was surprised by a
particular book on the bookshelf. The novel appeared to have a serene look to it. The
swans gliding on the blueblack lake... the swans posed on the placid lake (2,11) .
The words gliding and placid evoke a calm and soothing emotion to the readers.
The tone shifts as more cation occurs as the reader beings to read the poems. The
girl is intrigued by the poems. She says, I leaned closer to the print until I could
almost feel the blue waters drawn into the tip of my pen (27 33). The girl leaning
closer shows how interested she is by the poem and how she is in need of more.
The reader can see how much she likes the poem by how close she gets to the print.
Until I could almost feel the blue waters... (28 29) shows that she could not get

Macbeth Themes Essay.pdf

  • 1. Macbeth Themes Essay Crafting an essay on the themes of Macbeth can be both intellectually stimulating and challenging. The intricate layers of ambition, power, guilt, and fate within Shakespeare's tragedy demand a thorough exploration and analysis. Delving into the psyche of characters and dissecting the subtle nuances of the play requires a keen understanding of literary devices, historical context, and the intricacies of human nature. One of the difficulties lies in avoiding superficial observations, as the themes in Macbeth are deeply interconnected, often requiring a nuanced approach to draw meaningful conclusions. The challenge is not merely summarizing the plot or regurgitating well-known themes but rather providing insightful interpretations and demonstrating a comprehensive grasp of the material. Additionally, navigating the labyrinth of critical interpretations and scholarly debates surrounding Macbeth can be overwhelming. Striking a balance between incorporating existing analyses and presenting original insights can be a delicate task. The essay must reflect an independent and thoughtful engagement with the text while acknowledging the broader academic discourse. Furthermore, the language and style of the essay should mirror the complexity of the play itself. Achieving eloquence and coherence while tackling profound themes demands a mastery of language and rhetorical devices. Crafting a compelling argument that seamlessly weaves together evidence, quotes, and analysis is a skill that requires honing. In essence, writing a Macbeth themes essay necessitates a fusion of literary acumen, critical thinking, and effective communication. It is an endeavor that challenges one to delve deep into the recesses of Shakespeare's work, grapple with complex ideas, and present a cohesive and compelling narrative. While the journey may be arduous, the reward lies in the opportunity to unravel the timeless themes embedded in Macbeth, offering a richer understanding of both the play and the human experience. • 2. Espn Case Study Analysis To what extent are ESPN subscribers committed to the ESPN network and brand compared to on the air talent on the network? It s no secret that ESPN has lost a multitude of popular sports broadcasters over the last few years. Many have joined FOX Sports, after being unable to come to terms with ESPN s contract deals. These personalities include big names such as, Colin Cowherd, Jason Whitlock, Skip Bayless, Shannon Spake and Chris Broussard. Although moving forward without these reporters will save the company money, one must consider how these transitions are impacting ESPN s viewership. Colin Cowherd was with ESPN radio since 2003 until Fox Sports outbid ESPN in a $6 million deal. Skip Bayless also decided to jump ship this past April. According to Forbes, Bayless signed a $26 million deal which included $5 million annually and a $4 million bonus. Bayless teamed up with ... He went on to say yes ESPN has cut some employees, employees have left, and the ratings have gone down but so has their competitors . He elaborated, ESPN has made $5.9 billion in the third quarter and the ratings are in the millions while Fox Sports 1 ratings are in the high hundreds of thousands. He went on to mention Fox Sports Jamie Horowitz, who bashes his former employer, ESPN, every chance he gets. Pelt says Horowitz shouldn t be saying ESPN numbers are low when Cowherd and Jason Whitlock show Speak for Yourself, on FS1 received 50,000 viewers (Washingtonpost). I had spoken to sociologist Pierre Saint Pierre, who mentioned that people can t afford cable anymore. This is the main reason why subscriptions for ESPN has decreased. Due to their current cable systems contracts, ESPN can t do what WWE did, which was: create their own video streaming service network. Some people may be willing to purchase an ESPN only service, but at what
  • 3. Summary Of Titus Livius The History Of Rome In Titus Livius The History of Rome, Book 1, he tells the story of the rape of the Sabine women. Though he is a historian, I do not feel that he well represents the true emotion and feeling of the women, as is common for the time period. Throughout the telling, Livy fails to discuss the emotions of the women and does not give an accurate representation of what happened to the captured Sabine women once they were taken by the Roman men. His word choice is purposefully vague and nondescript to make the tale more appealing to men of the time. In chapter nine of The History of Rome, Book 1, Livywrites the beginning of the tale: how Romulus needed women to keep his new city alive and was rejected by all of the families he approached. This leads Romulus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first chapter he writes his own version of the tale, showing the true emotions of the captured women: As doves flee the eagle in a frightened crowd, as the new born lamb runs from the hostile wolf: so they fled in panic from the lawless men, and not one showed the color she had before. (Ovid 1.117 20) In this passage, Ovid displays the panic and fear that comes with being taken away from your family which is missing in Livy s version of the story. Rather than using Livy s style of minimal description, Ovid uses similes to show the emotion felt by the Sabines in their situation. From there, he continues to show the violence that is enacted upon the Sabines with the line The captive girls were led away as plunder for the marriage bed (Ovid 1.125). From that line, the reader instantly knows that each woman is being raped rather than slept with, as Livy s version seems to say. Although Rome in seventh century BC was a much different time than the present, I feel that Livy, as a historian, should have written the tale from a more realistic and accurate perspective. Because his telling was not detailed, the story is easy to
  • 4. The Psychoanalytic Theories Of Freud s Theory Personality is what makes people who they are. Some people have different personalities others have very similar personalities; but nobody s personality is exactly the same. In the past many people have tried to understand personality and explain it through theories. This paper, will discuss the differences between the psychoanalytic theories of Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, and Alfred Adler. It will then show the characteristics of which I agree with as well as the characteristics that I disagree with. Furthermore, it will describe the stages of Freud s theory and explain the characteristics of personality using these components; And finally, I will describe uses of three Freudian defense mechanisms by using real life examples. In regard to the psychoanalytical theories of Freud, Jung and Adler, there are several similarities; however, there are also several differences. Freud s theory focuses on the sexual perspective of the mind. In his theory, the three basic components are id, ego, and superego. Jung s theory is to Adler, the neuroses consists in the effort for the individual to overcome the feeling of inferiority, and the outward signs and symptoms are the manifestations of those dexterities developed to this end. The Adlerian concept serves to bridge the gap between the organists and the functionalists (White, 1917). Jung and Adler were associated with Freud and took excessive interest in his theory of psychoanalysis. Psychoanalysis has demonstrated, the importance of
  • 5. The Power Of Nature In Frankenstein By Mary Shelley s... Throughout the novel, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, scientist Victor Frankenstein repeatedly meddles with the power of nature while building his creation, without applying the knowledge and consideration of the power of nature and its repercussions. Thus, man should respect the power of nature and its consequences. Natureis omnipotent, therefore, man should obey nature in order to avoid it from its aftermath, portraying Shelley s point that if man obeys nature, nature will not destroy something. There will be consequences if man does try to discipline nature which displays Shelley s similar idea that if man tries to counter nature, man will eventually fall. Nature can improve or restore one s mind who is in misery or someone who is suffering proving all in all, if man accepts and does not ignore the capability of nature, then they will thrive and be joyous and pleasant. Overall, if one does not tamper with nature, nature shall not tamper with one. One of Shelley s main points is that man is not equipped to tamper with the powers of the natural world. After Victor s fall and almost death, he meets Robert Walton, an explorer who is trying to find the North Pole and to exceed the average knowledge. Victor urges him to not make the same mistake he had. Victor realizes that nature is all powerful in his adventure and tells Walton how dangerous the acquirement of knowledge [is] and that man will fail if he aspires to become greater than his nature will allow (Shelley 39).

The fundamental principles of electricity generation were discovered during the 1820s and early 1830s by the British scientist Michael Faraday. His basic method is still used today: electricity is generated by the movement of a loop of wire, or disc of copper between the poles of a magnet.[1] For electric utilities, it is the first process in the delivery of electricity to consumers. The other processes, electricity transmission, distribution, and electrical power storage and recovery using pumped storage methods are normally carried out by the electrical power industry. • 7. The Collapse Of The Minoan One may ask, who are the Minoans? Well they are considered by many Historians and Archeologists to be the first great European Civilization. Some people believed that this was the mythical land of Atlantis. They were located near the Aegean Sea and lands such as Greece, Troy and Asia Minor. One interesting fact is that these people never called themselves the Minoans. There wasn t any name listed in the history books for these people but the Ancient Crete Civilization. They were known as the Crete Civilization because they lived on the island of Crete which is now part of Greece. It wasn t until a 19th century British Archeologist, Sir Author Evans gave them the name, The Minoans. He gave them this name because he believed he had found the legendary palace of King Minos. Wholesale Funding, Bank Runs And Liquidity Freezes Wholesale Funding, Bank Runs and Liquidity Freezes In the 2007/8 Financial Crisis Name Course Tutor University City/State Date Wholesale Funding, Bank Runs and Liquidity Freezes In the 2007/8 Financial Crisis Introduction Banks make loans which are not quickly sold at high price. The demand deposits by Banks issue allow their depositors to make withdraws at their convenience. Therefore a liquidity mismatch exists between a bank s liabilities which are more liquid compared to the bank s assets. It leads to a problem in case a large number of depositors decide to withdraw at the same time. Such a situation is called a bank run. To prevent bank runs there are policies by the banks to stop runs, while the government provides deposit insurance for prevention of bank runs. The canonical model of depositor runs by Diamond and Dybvig (1983) provides an explanation as to why banks issue deposits which have greater liquidity than the bank s assets and also explain why banks are prone to depositor runs (Diamond, Dybvig, 1983). This model focuses on bank runs along other financial crises and the mechanisms to prevent such financial crises. This paper discusses how traditional bank runs is different from runs in the 2008 financial crisis and the innovation of wholesale funding. Agreeing to Sony s terms was a strategic move which not only solidified a revenue stream but also paved the way for other firms to follow suit. Upon signing Sony to a licensing agreement, Phillips Dupont seemed to follow suit primarily to avoid costly litigation. Specifically, ORC managed to sign a licensing agreement with Phillips on moderate terms that did not fully utilize the legal leverage of ORC. In other words, ORC was not able to negotiate the license on their terms but more out of desperation of signing a licensing agreement. Despite having the upper hand, ORC was unable to capitalize on their strong position. During the Sony deliberations, ORC was experiencing financial troubles in Canada. The Canadian government wished to immediately resend their tax credits which awarded ORC, as a research firm, $6.5 million Canadian dollars. Adamson refused to pay the $6.5 million which was primarily based on the fact that ORC could not afford to pay them. Nevertheless, the aforementioned decision of the Canadian government was a potential threat to ORC, and could have resulted in a different business development strategy employed by the company. To capitalize on the recently successful licensing program, ORC turned their attention towards the next largest manufacturer of CD media in the U.S. WEA Manufacturing (Subsidiary of Time Warner). This is because magnesium is higher than hydrogen in the reactivity series. Therefore, when the two reactants are combined, a displacement reaction occus and the magnesium displaces the hydrogen, forming magnesium chloride and hydrogen gas. Mg (s) + 2HCl (aq) MgCl 2 (aq) + H 2 (g) Magnesium + Hydrochloric acid Magnesium Chloride + Hydrogen Aim The aim of this investigation is to observe the effect that the concentration of hydrochloric acid (independent variable) has on the rate of reaction (dependent variable) between the magnesium ribbon and the hydrochloric acid.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If there is more surface area exposed to the hydrochloric acid, the particles of acid will have a greater area of magnesium to react with and form successful collisions, thus increasing the rate of reaction. Volume of Hydrochloric Acid Used: An overall volume of 50ml of hydrochloric acid and water should be used for every trial. If a lesser volume is used, this will decrease the rate of reaction as there will be less particles in the HCl to collide with the Mg particles, which will lessen the chance for creating a successful collision, and thus lower the rate of the chemical reactions. Timing of the experiment: Bung with delivery tube should be placed on the conical flask as soon as possible after the magnesium ribbon is dropped. This will ensure that as much of the hydrogen gas gets measured in the measuring cylinder above the trough, in order to obtain accurate measurements when calculating the rate of reactions. Stopwatch will begin as soon as the magnesium is dropped into the hydrochloric acid, so that the timing of the reaction is measured accurately. Cleaning of the magnesium: The ribbon of magnesium will be cleaned with sandpaper to remove the coating on the magnesium metal caused by reactions with atmospheric gases. This needs to be done so that the measuring cylinder measures the gas produced from the reaction

The Normal Operation Of A Botnet A.Botnet Life cycle Processes involved in the normal operation of a botnet has no comprehensive approach to either the stages encompassing the life cycle, or the lack of compartmentalization between them (see Figure 1, Botnet Life cycle Taxonomy). Apart from normal operations, so far there s no qualitative analysis on how these stages should be characterized, defined, or distinguished. A proposed botnetlife cycle stage starts with conception and ends with reaching the desired malicious intent, i.e. a successful attack and can include DDoS, spam, phishing, or click fraud. Corresponding mechanisms to these stages of the botnet life cycle are typically focused on attempting to hide the botnet (communication processes, location of the bots, and botmaster), some of these methods include IP spoofing, multi hopping, polymorphism, and fast flux networks. Any defensive approach to overcoming a botnet is dedicated to preventing execution of a particular process in one of the botnet life cycle stages or combine processes in one or more stages. Deterring execution of a single stage in the botnet life cycle can thwart a malicious and devastating outcome. In principle, prevention of hidden mechanisms doesn t suggest deterrence of the botnet goal, but increases the probability that a botnet will be identified by a defense method. For kids today in the United States, these are only a few of the problems linked to the child targeted mass media, especially the multi million dollar business television commercials in children s programming. With the disappearance of a TV free environment, a typical American kid sees about 40,000 television advertisementseach year, most of which are for soda, candy, video games, fast foodand their free toys. On the other hand, boys are active and assertive, care most about sports and war games. In the Pull up diapers commercial that I taped, a little girl intently plays with her teddy bear as she waits in a fitting room for her mom to finish changing. As her mom twirls around in front of a mirror again, the girl steps onto the pile of clothes on the floor and whispers, Mom, can we go now? The next scene takes place in front of a public restroom, where the girl holds her mom s hands and smiles. Not far away from the girl, a little boy holding a Pull up diaper hurriedly runs into the men s bathroom by himself. This seemingly harmless commercial can actually be very misleading to young children. The mom is not only playing the traditional role of a housewife, but also suggesting to her daughter that appearance is very important to women because they have to attract men with their charming looks. Just as O Connor states, Little girls must be prepared for a life of buying clothes and cosmetics and all those other wonderful things that will make them irresistibly alluring objects. In addition to the emphasis on materialism and a need for the perfect body image, it also seems that girls are always associated with tender loving dolls such as the teddy bear, and toy cars and video games are certainly out of the picture. The little boy running to the bathroom is another subtle example of rampant

Reasonably, the medications and understanding of the mind were not as advanced resulting, therefore, in a simple diagnoses for a much more complicated ailment. Despite some of the major differences between today and then, there is a consistent appreciation for examining the connection between patients and art. The value of this examination is even more beneficial when the patient is a trained artist like Richard Dadd. Richard Dadd (1817 1886) is known and recognized not only for his artistic contributions, but also because of the circumstances under which many of his works were created. As a trained artist, he was admitted to the Royal Academy at the age of twenty. His recognized talent led him to his association with Sir Thomas Phillips, whom he accompanied in 1842 on a trip traveling through Europe and the Middle East. It was during the end of this trip, and upon his return home, that Dadd began experiencing his mental disturbances that led to the murder of his father. Without a trial, Dadd was classified as insane and placed in the care of Bethlem Hospital. Dadd spent the reminder of his life in hospital care until his death in 1886. During his hospitalized years Dadd, with the encouragement and allowance of his doctors, continued to create works of art from his sketches and memory. • 35. Luck Egalitarianism Summary In reaction to gross and compounding economic disparities in the international sphere, cosmopolitan philosophers like Moellendorf have addressed the international state, claiming that the degree of inequality is unjustifiable. Moellendorf operates with a Rawlsian understanding of ethical relations, but expands this notion from the domestic sense into the international sense, claiming that the degree of globalization is sufficient such that it creates an association in which the interdependence is sufficiently strong, largely non voluntary and constitutive of a significant part of the background rules that govern members lives, forming the basis of duties for distributive justice. From this understanding for the need for global distributive justice, Moellendorf claims that the main strategy to address this inequality is through a global progressive tax. Moellendorf s conception, however, overstates the degree to which globalization has created international cohesiveness. Though a progressive tax would certainly address global inequality, a... Luck egalitarianism refers to the arbitrary methods by which various states came to be in possession of their resources and the need for a system of redistribution similar to Moellendorf s global tax in order to address the systems of inequality arising from arbitrarily having more or less valuable resources. Wenar, however, disagrees with the notion of a global tax, citing concerns over sentiments of distrust in states recently liberated from former colonial states. In response to this distrust, Wenar proposes a system of popular resource sovereignty, in which the value derived from a nation s resources are not subject to global taxation, but rather are directed toward the benefit of the nation s people rather than a nation s
  • 36. Alkite Synthesis On 1/7, the Alky started to only process FCCU BB and no longer process Coker BB. Alkylation chemistry neither likes contaminants nor diluents. Contaminants are direct acid consumers. The more contaminants in the feed, the more often the unit will be at an acid constraint. Diluents do not reaction in alkylationchemistry but they take up space and decrease the effective area for isobutane and olefin to contact. With less contact, side reactions like polymerization are more likely to occur; polymerization reactions are a direct acid consumer. Comparing the FCCU and Coker BB, Coker BB contains far more contaminants and diluents than FCCU BB (see Table 2, pg.4). By lowering the amount of contaminants and diluents, acid consumption was reduced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The best way to decrease acid residence time is by lowering the level in the settlers. PAR has abnormally high settler levels (45 60% vs. typical 15 20%). The acid consumption impact of running at the appropriate levels in the settler is 0.15 lb /gal or 1.3 MM$/yr in savings (1.1 MM$/yr at cooling constraint and 1.3 MM$/yr at acid constraint). Process Support recommends maintaining a level of 15 20% in C and A settler and a level of 40% in B settler. B settler should be run higher than C or A because of risk of sending lighter hydrocarbons to the spent acid tank. 3.Emulsion recycle Emulsion recycle minimizes undesirable side reactions, such as polymerization, in the acid settler by keeping the olefins and alkyl sulfates (esters) in contact with isobutane. This results in improved Alkylate quality with reduced acid consumption. Process Support recommends opening all emulsion recycle valves 100%. In general, maximum acid recycle rates and minimum acid residence time promote better Alkylate product quality, and decrease the potential for polymerization. Net effect of implementing these steps is $5.3 MM$/yr due to reduced acid consumption and lower endpoint. Operations began lowering settler levels and opening acid recycle valves in February. Progress on this effort will be reported in the next bi monthly

It has long been said that children are the future, and what way better to corrupt that future than by educational indoctrination? Many students who have gone to public school and switched to private school realize that most of what they were being taught was nothing more than radical leftism and revisionist history. Children are taught to monitor their parents recycling habits and report them to the teachers to help keep the planet green (Snyder). As one parent reported to Snyder, They re on my case about getting a hybrid car. They want me to replace all the light bulbs in the house with energy saving bulbs. This radical left wing indoctrination has seeped into the very fabric of children s minds has started to corrupt the future of these young individuals. A similarity can be drawn between these instances and the children in Orwell s 1984. Those children are also indoctrinated from a young age and taught to report their parents suspicious behavior to Party members. Winston s neighbors are actually reported to The Party by their own children (Orwell ). Though this seems trivial at best, this is an example of leftist indoctrination being implemented in the public school system. The foremost example of indoctrination is the banning of Christian text and prayer on school grounds. This is seen by many as an attempt to disrupt the moral fabric of society and promote an
