1. One Art Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "One Art" is a challenge that demands a delicate balance
between analysis and interpretation. The difficulty lies not only in comprehending Elizabeth
Bishop's intricate poem but also in navigating the nuances of language, emotion, and loss that it
explores.
"One Art" delves into the theme of loss, urging readers to contemplate the inevitability of losing
things, people, and experiences. The poem's unique structure, with its repeated lines and the
progression of losses from trivial to profound, adds an additional layer of complexity. Analyzing
the subtle shifts in tone, rhythm, and imagery requires a keen literary sensibility.
Moreover, the subjective nature of the theme requires a thoughtful and personal response.
Writers must grapple with their own experiences of loss and translate those emotions into a
coherent and insightful essay. This process involves not only understanding the technical aspects
of poetry but also delving into the emotional core of the work.
Researching scholarly perspectives on "One Art" can further complicate the task. Incorporating
critical analyses while maintaining an original voice and interpretation challenges writers to
synthesize various viewpoints. This adds a layer of depth to the essay, but it also requires a
meticulous understanding of literary criticism.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "One Art" is a complex undertaking that demands a deep
engagement with the poem's intricate layers of meaning, poetic devices, and emotional
resonances. It requires a delicate balance between personal reflection and academic analysis.
Successfully navigating this complexity results in a nuanced and compelling essay that captures
the essence of Elizabeth Bishop's profound exploration of loss.

2. Compare And Contrast Macbeth And Lady Macbeth
Macbeth is definitely one of my favorite plays of Shakespeare. Almost every
character in this play is unique and living. Not to mention Macbeth and Lady
Macbeth, as the main characters of this play, the complexity of their personalities is
what I like the most about Macbeth. I want to argue in this paper that, unlike what we
might seen Macbethand Lady Macbeth as ruthless and heartless from the first look,
actually both of them are killed by their own conscience. I will analyze these two
characters separately first and then compare them with each other.
First, we can see that Macbeth is tough and have rather stronger mentality and
stress tolerance compare to Lady Macbeth. According to his way of handling his
enemies (Banquo, Macduff, etc.) after he becomes the king, he is cruel and
rigorous most of the time. This can prove that unlike Lady Macbeth, the crime he
did to get the crown never directly crashes Macbeth he almost fights till his last
moment, I will not yield, to kiss the ground before young Malcolm s feet, and to be
baited with the rabble s curse (Shakespeare 5.8.32 34). Apparently, what really destroy
Macbeth are the ghosts and the predictions from the witches.
In my opinion, most of the supernatural that Macbeth experiences are just illusions
that come from his inside. Therefore all the ghosts and predictions are just part ...

From what I understand, the illusions are the key point, because they explain
everything. Macbeth s illusion is ghosts, while Lady Macbeth s illusion is blood.
We all know that ghost comes from dead people, so Macbeth is guilt of killing
those specific people. While blood is a sign of killing ad murder, which implicated
that Lady Macbeth s guilt is coming from the fact that she kills someone (indirectly),
it doesn t matter who she kills, what s matters is only the fact that she is no longer
the person who never kills anyone she is not clean

4. First Jewish Revolt Summary
First Jewish Revolt (CE60 70) Phillip Cullen Yr. 9
The First Jewish Revolt (CE 66 70) was the first revolt in a series of rebellions
against Roman authority by the Jewish people. Although this revolt met some
principles of the Just War Theory, there were several criteria that were not met by the
Jews launching the war. This conclusion can be reached from the writings of
Historian Flavius Josephus, a primary source on the topic, and from many other
sources also.
It can be argued that the First Jewish Revolt met the Jus ad bellum criteria Just cause
/Right intention , which is that the war must not be fought to pursue national interests
but to re establish a just peace. (Dorbolo 2001) ... Show more content on

This is one principle that was most certainly not met by the Zealots an extremist,
militaristic sect of Jews who were determined to directly meet opposition who
drove the revolt. The Zealots used terror to force all the Jews into the revolt, even
though their numbers consisted of Jewish families, not professional soldiers, and
were insignificant before Rome s army. Old men, mixed with infants, all dead, and
scattered about together; women also lay amongst them (Jospehus). Most of the
Jews didn t want to be fighting, and didn t believe in what the Zealots were forcing
them to do, so both skill and morale was lower than that of the professional Roman
army. At the time of the Judean revolt, the Roman Army consisted of 28 legions of
5500 men, and auxiliary units ... all professional soldiers (Goldberg 2012). Such a
minority group like the Jews had almost no chance against the extensive Roman
Empire. Despite many Jews seeing the impossibility the success of the campaign, the
Zealots determinedly forced the battle into action. This goes against the principle of

5. Persuasive Essay On Homeless People
Homelessness is a large problem for Americans today. Each day, we see it, but
what about the causes? The definition of a homeless person is someone whom is
lives in a public place with no shelter. Homeless people must do things out in public
that other people have the resources to do in the privacy of their homes. Many
things come in to play when it comes to understanding being homeless. One problem
that homeless people face is medication and sleep problems. Another situation is
finding a job or income to support a shelter. Lastly, people who are homeless have
types of diseases that they must face along with the troubles of no place to call home.
St. Mungo s, a homeless shelter and outreach society, researched homelessness. They
said that people who have a hard time falling asleep, which also includes sleeping
on the side of the road or even having to sleep in a hotel room, have a rate of health
problems that go over two to three times a person who has a place to call home.
Even the rate of Tuberculosis is over two hundred times more than of the normal
population. Some people have even said to had problems with diabetes and high
blood pressure. Most need medication throughout the rest of their adult lives, even
when there is no money for if they get sick. The team at St. Mungo supports over
2500 people a night who have no shelter.
Our economy right now is at the lowest we have seen in a very long time. People

7. Improtance of Accountability Essay
THE IMPORTANCE OF ACCOUNTABILITY IN THE ARMY AND THE
POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE IMPACT IT CAN HAVE. By: SGT Looper, Harley
Whether you are dealing with property or personnel, proper accountability is of the
greatest importance in the Army. Having proper accountability can make or break
your mission. As an NCO one of my main responsibilities is the accomplishment of
my mission. Knowing where my soldiers and my equipment are will help me to
succeed in accomplishing that mission. There are many things that can pop up on
a day to day basis that can require my immediate knowledge of where my soldiers
are. For example, if we have an IDF (indirect fire) attack and one of my soldiers got
injured my knowledge of where they are could make the difference... Show more

Then he gets back in the truck to continue his convoy. While riding down the road
the weapon falls off and no one has a clue. Later that day the weapon is picked up
by MR. Taliban. Now MR. Taliban has a very effective and battle proven weapon.
He could use that weapon to potentially hurt another soldier, and it would all be due
to PVT Snuffy s lack of accountability. Luckily for PVT Snuffy, he has SGT Hero
accounting for his sensitive items. SGT Hero notices that Snuffy does not have his
weapon, and inquires about its absence. SGT Hero then makes Snuffy retrieve his
weapon before they continue the convoy, and later provides PVT Snuffy with the
appropriate corrective training to make sure it does not happen again. By
maintaining proper accountability of his and his soldiers sensitive items, SGT
Hero met his responsibilities and helped to accomplish the Organizations mission.
Whether you are dealing with personnel or equipment, accountability is of supreme
importance. It ultimately always leads back to the effectiveness to complete the
mission. If the Organizations mission is impeded in any way, it can inadvertently
affect the moral, welfare, and even the faith a soldier has in their leadership. As an
NCO I will not fail my soldiers, I will accomplish my mission, I will properly
account for all personnel and equipment, and I will provide all the tools necessary for
my Organizations mission to be a paramount
8. Cardinal Richelieu Response To Poor Dbq Essay
Life in Europe during the 1500 s and 1600 s was full of reformation, wars of
religion, and exploration of new places and ideas. The poor were greatly affected
during this time. They were part of the church reformation when Martin Luther
separated from Catholic Christendom and created his own church. In religious wars,
like the Thirty Years War, the poor were usually the people fighting which had a
tremendous impact on their lives and families. With the growth of exploration, the
poor moved around which affected their community. The attitudes and responses
towards the poor in Europe between 1450 and 1700 included that they were
undeserving and lazy; they needed help, should be put to work, and should be given
help.
Many people had an attitude ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Cardinal Richelieu was serving as a royal councilor he said that the poor who
able to work should be employed on public works (Doc. 2). Essentially, he is
saying that the poor that are able bodied should work in the community. The poor
shouldn t just be left sitting on the streets begging, they should be working to earn
their nourishment, if they are permitted to do so. A town council in Rouen, France
has very similar ideas to that of Richelieu. They say that beggars unwilling to work
should be kicked out, but those who can t find a job should be put to work in the
city (Doc. 4). Furthermore, they are conveying the fact that the poor should be
working in order to create a better thriving community. There are plenty of
opportunities for work in the city, so those unwilling to work should be exiled. In a
painting by Rembrandt van Rijn, it shows a family with all their belongings
collecting money from a man in his house (Doc. 5). His painting is showing how
poor should be given alms. He creates sympathy for the poor by having children and
the family carrying all their belongings in the picture. The response shown by this
painting is that you need to give help to the poor. These examples show that the
responses towards the poor were to make them work or to assist
9. Pope Urban 2 Persuasive Essay
There are many reasons Pope Urban II has decided to partake in this necessary
crusade against the Muslims. Some of his reasoning stems from Christianity s
current teachings. For example, the New Testament reveals Jesus had said to bring
not peace, but the sword (Matt 10:34). Apart from God s input, the Pope must
follow the Just War Theory for a crusade to become valid. In order to consider a
crusade as righteous, it must have a high probability of success, the right intention, a
just cause, exhausted all peaceful alternatives, an assessment of proportionality and
an official declaration of war from Pope Urban II. In general, this crusade has a high
probability of success because God is on Christianitys side and there is a large

For instance, the Muslims are occupying Christian territory and threatening New
Christian settlements in the Baltic region including the Byzantine empire (Riley Smith

defensive war. If he does not, Muslims could continue to claim Christain regions
resulting in the extinction of Christianity. In general, these heretics do not have a
deep rooted religious or historical connection with the Jerusalem. For example, most
of the stories in the Christian Bible take place in Jerusalem. Even Christianity s lord
and savior is said to have lived and died in Jerusalem. Therefore, Muslims are not
entitled to that piece of land. At the same time, heretics in Languedoc are rebelling
against the church and are consistently denying their responsibilities to teach others
about Christ (Riley Smith 2005). If people are not taught about Jesus, they will not
have a place in heaven. The crusade s purpose is not only to unite Christians with
Jerusalem but to influence non believers to become

Its fossil specimens had long, slender bills ,and shortened upper wings bones
topped by a knob. Surprisingly, fossils were found in the southern part of Germany
which was far away from the modern hummingbird territory. Hummingbird s
aggression were shaped by sipping nectar as often as every minutes. They compete
by challenging and bullying each other in mid air; post up and pirouette, dive to the
grass, and paddle backward in dances of dominance that end suddenly as they begin.
They will compete each other up in tall mountains near the equator that offer rich

Therapeutics
The Role of Bacterial Efflux Pumps in Multi Drug Resistance and Therapeutics
Antibiotic resistance is an ongoing critical threat to the health of patients worldwide.
With the advent of mass produced antibiotics, the prevalence of resistance to them
seems to have positively correlated with the increasing amount of different antibiotic
classes available on the market. This means that another method of erradicating these
resistant bacteria must be sought, so not to worsen the situation the world is already
in. This must be implemented sooner rather than later, as already in Europe several
countries have reported MRSA with a level of 50% resistance present (HM
Government, 2014, p.5).

They may do this by different methods including the use of variation of machinery in
the cell.
This report shall mainly be focusing on antibiotic resistance bought about by efflux
pumps and then will go on to how this may be combated.
Efflux mediated Resistance
There are many mechanisms of MDR in Bacteria, but of particular interest is the
role of efflux mediated resistance. Efflux of antibiotics can occur naturally by
bacteria, for example those that produce their own antibacterial mechanism to fend
off competition in the wild. It would also be necessary for a bacteria to be able to
expel their own antibacterial products so not to kill themselves and in turn have
antibacterial effects on competing bacteria.
They would also require the pumps therefore to expel antibacterial chemicals
absorbed which other bacteria in competition with them would produce.
Studies have shown from a random soil collection living strains of streptomyces
presented 60 100% resistance to multiple antibiotics, which suggested antibiotic
resistance genes are present in this habitat in abundance.(D Costa, V.M.,McGrann,
K.M., Hughes, D.W Wright, G.D, 2006). This study backs up the theory therefore
that a lot of antibiotic immunity is integral to the evolution of bacteria.
The effects of this in healthcare can be seen in the infamous MRSA Methicillin
resistant staphylococcus aureus which is not just
15. Reflection Of The Library Reflection
Throughout the Freshman Inquiry Writing Seminar (FIQWS) in Narrative Medicine,
I learned about the various ways in which we can become better healers to society,
doctors who establish a personal connection with their patient. In addition, I obtained
ways to improve my overall writing so that it sounds more mature, but at the same
time interesting. Throughout this course, there were various course learning
outcomes such as developing strategies for reading, drafting, collaborating, revising
and editing, locating research sources in the library s databases or archives and on the
Internet and evaluate them for credibility, accuracy, timeliness, and bias, and
composing texts that integrate your stance with appropriate sources using strategies
such as summary, critical analysis, interpretation, synthesis, and argumentation.
Throughout the written assignments in this course, I believe I was able to improve
my writing process as a whole; however, I believe that I could have done a better job
utilizing the library sources present at CCNY, which would have ultimately
strengthened my paper, especially the research paper I wrote. I believe that
throughout all my essays, I have developed strategies for drafting, collaborating,
revising and editing. In my first essay, which focused on the literary analysis of The
Aquarium by Aleksander Hemon, I created an outline that contained quotations that
supported my central question: why does Hemon actually decide to name the title of
his piece

In this era of science and technology, inventions are being made to improve the
economic marketing especially. One of the new inventions is from agriculture sector,
which is plant tissue culture. Nowadays, banana tissue culture is one of the famous
inventions created by agriculturist. Robinson and SaГєco (2010) mentioned that,
banana is ranked second among the other fruit in most important fruit crop since it is
high fruit production and high demands in the market. As elaborated by Singh, Uma,
Selvarajan and Karihaloo (2011), there are five steps in banana shoot tip culture
namely selecting of sucker, sterilizing of instruments, medium and environment,
introducing the explant to Murashigee Skoog (MS) medium, sub culturing the
callus, and lastly is weaning and hardening of plantlets. (refer to Figure 1 in
Appendix 1) The first step in banana shoot tip tissue culture technique is selection of
healthy sucker. During this stage, a healthy sucker is chosen when it is about four
months of age. The healthy and young sucker is selected because they have higher
rate differentiation, which helps them to grow rapidly. Then, the outer tissue and the
root of the sucker is pared away until the size of meristem tissue is suitable to the
size of petri dish, which is about 1.0 to 2.0 cm diameter (Singh et al., 2011). Next, the
tissue is sterilized with bleach and it is rinsed with distilled water for three times. The
second step is sterilizing of the instruments, medium and environments.

The film To Kill a Mockingbird is an extraordinary illustration of the Southern
United States stereotypical racial injustice that were exist in the American history.
The main highlights of the film is the innocent black man was falsely accused of
raping a white girl. There were many social psychological theories and
phenomenon were found such as mass delusion, confirmation bias, self serving
bias, conformity, group influence, traditional gender roles throughout the movie.
By providing strong evidences from the film there paper will discuss these social
psychological concepts in detail. An important psychological concept named mass
delusion is observed in the film. A mass delusion is when a large group of people
all hold the same false belief. In the film, all the whites hold false belief about the
blacks. The white folks typically sees the blacks as criminals, rapist etc. That is
why when the black guy Tom Robinson is accused of raping a white girl, none of
the white folks tried to find out the actual truth. They totally believed that the black
guy was the rapist. However, the defendant lawyer Atticus believed that Tom did not
commit the crime. In spite of being a white man, he decides to take Tom s case and
get justice for him. Confirmation bias is noticed in the movie among the white folks.
Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for information that confirms one s
preconceptions. The whites had the wrong perceptions of blacks for many years.

Conversation Analysis
Conversation analysis refers to a model of analyzing spoken communication or
interactions for the determination of how language develops within social contexts. It
is useful in understanding interactions with classroom settings, courtrooms and in
interviews (Sidnell, 2011). Conversation analysis provides a framework for assessing
specific aspects of an oral interaction, such as opening and closing, topic management,
adjacency pairs, feedback, preference organization, turn taking and repair. Opening
and closing is a crucial element of a conversation as it influences the starting and
finishing of oral interactions. Notably, different cultures have divergent approaches to
opening and closing conversations. Antaki (2011) illustrates that the place of the
conversation also influences the nature of opening and closing statements. For
instance, communication across online platforms, including social media networks

possibilities of having overly dominant speakers within conversations (Wong Waring,
2010). Feedback mechanisms are also analyzed to determine whether conversations
provide participants with opportunities of providing responses. It is however notable
that feedback differs across cultures. Social media platform are designed to provide
users with opportunities of providing feedback or expressing their reactions to
specific content. However, the language used to provide feedback in social media
conversations may not be culturally relevant owing to the divergent cultural values of
members of online communities (Thurlow Mroczek,
21. A Comparison Of Malcolm X Vs. Martin Luther King Jr.
The Civil Rights movement in the 1960 s birthed the most prominent figures in the
battle against racism in the United States. Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. are
immortalized as the men who stood up and spoke out during the most crucial time in
US History for African American activism. Though often brought up in the same
vein, the two had complete opposite ideology about how to reach equality. Their
influence created many prominent groups in the 60s against mistreatment of African
Americans, including the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee(SNCC).
According to the name of this group, they were a nonviolent team of young black
activists that stemmed from MLK s Southern Christian Leadership Conference
(SCLC). Apparent in their name, they shared the same peaceful approach as MLK,
but over time and as the hardships of the movement began to callous the young group
they shifted towards the by any means necessary approach of Malcolm X. Through
the excerpts in Takin it to the Streets, one can see the stark difference between
Malcolm X s more aggressive approach, MLK s loving approach, and the SNCC
shifting its views over time but always maintaining a steadfast commitment to the
cause and a youthful bravado. Martin Luther King Jr. is a household name. He
became a martyr, known for exclusively preaching about love and dreams of
equality. MLK was impassioned and eloquent and palatable enough for white people.
He never wavered from the idea that the resolution to
22. King Lear and A Thousand Acres Comparative Literary
Analysis
King Lear, a tragedy by William Shakespeare, is about the delegation of power from
the old generation to the young, new generation. Furthermore, the play demonstrates
problems that can arise from a transfer made too early, from one generation to the
next. A Thousand Acres is a modern retelling of King Lear, that is similar to King
Lear, but it is not an exact word for word copy. The overall plot has been retained
from King Lear, but some of the minor details have been changed to provide an
intriguing new take on the same story. One such change is the fact the story goes
from a third person view in King Lear, mostly following King Lear, to a first person
narrative from the perspective of Ginny in A Thousand Acres. Ginny is the modern
day version for Goneril s character. King Lear and A Thousand Acres may take place
in two different time periods; they both offer comments on the status of women,
familyrelationships, and the natural order of things. The two time periods may be
different, one modern day and the other set in the past, however the ideas presented
are not that different on a whole. Both works presented share the same common
thematic and universal elements throughout. King Lear and A Thousand Acres
discuss the role and status of women similarly. In King Lear women were
considered lower status than their male counterparts. This is true even of women
who would today be considered equal to men, such as a man and a women who went
to college and acquired the same
23. Analysis Of The Film The Social Network
Essay 4: The Social Network Critique
The film that we watched in class is called The Social Network. Directed by David
Fincher and released in 2010, it is an informative film which attempts to shed light
on the real story behind the creation and rise of Facebook, starting from the
beginning and revealing all the possibly hidden or not as well known facts behind it.
Though some of the movie may be Hollywoodized and exaggerated for a dramatic
depiction, with exceptional acting and a compelling story, it does a fantastic job of
informing viewers all about Facebook while still engrossing them in the story and
captivating their interest.
The movie opens up on a scene when Mark Zuckerberg, played by Jesse Eisenberg, is
dumped by his girlfriend Erica Albright after an argument. From this moment, a
long chain of events is set into motion that ultimately lead to the success of one of
the most prominent and influential social media sites in internet and
communication history. After Mark is dumped, he is humiliated and set on
obtaining revenge. From his anger, he, along with his only real friend Eduardo
Saverin, who is played by Andrew Garfield, work to create a website that will
serve as payback for his girlfriend breaking up with him. Created on October 28,
2003, the site that they create is called Facemash, which is the very first version of
Facebook. Originally made to be a site for comparing photos, the site used pictures
stolen from the school database that were plugged into

A General Comparison between the Senate of Ancient Rome and the Senate of the

Outline
I. Introduction
Thesis statement: It is known to most that Western countries are on the rule of
parliamentary democracy. We also know that Western countries inherited their
political system from the ancient Greeks and Romans, especially the Roman political
system. It has shaped western parliamentary system more than any others. However,
different parliamentary systems have their specific characteristics. Has shaped from
what it was in Ancient Rome to that we see today. This paper will compare and

The social connection provided the required political foundation for the Senate.
The Ancient Roman civilization started the Roman Kingdom, not the Roman
Republic. This Kingdom was totally different from the later Monarchy in the
history of the Middle Ages, because the system did not have an inherited King. The
increasing powerful aristocracy, wealthy landowners and trade merchants who
dominated Rome s social and political scene had organized themselves into a
council of elders known as the Roman Senate. The senate had privilege to select
who the next King would be (Pearson 19). The King and the Senate had a
cooperating relationship until 509 BC. In that year, the last King, Lucius
Tarquinius Superbus, also known as Tarquin the Proud, was a tyrant who was
overthrown by the city state s nobles. He succeeded to the throne because he
assassinated the former King. So he was the King without the Senate s approval.
During the same year, the city of Rome became a republic. At the beginning of the
Republic, the might of the Senate was very weak and powerless, because of the
might of the two magistrates. A magistrate was a kind of officer who served as the
leader of Ancient Rome and Greeks, and who was elected by citizens who lived in the
cities. Not only did the two magistrates share the leading position in the city state, but
they also had powerful might over the Senators. Since the transition from monarchy
to constitutional
25. Guy Vanderhaeghe s The Last Crossing
Guy Vanderhaeghe s The Last Crossing is a Western of subtly crossed borders.
Vanderhaeghe elicits a sense of blurred lines between opposites, giving the illusion
that boundaries are not so statically fixed. The historical figure Jerry Potts illustrates
that the division between Indigenous and white is not so easily distinguished by
ways of appearances, languages, and relations. The lines of health and illness
intertwine as the reader follows Addington s syphilis, Custis mystery ailment, and the
Indigenous peoplesstruggle with smallpox. Justice, punishment, and the law become
subjective in the novel with regards to Madge s death, Addington s military massacre,
and Indigenous resistance against unfair treatment. Distinctions between... Show

His abilities with languages lead to his [making] a living as an interpreter and guide
(105). In The Last Crossing Potts is used as a guide primarily, but his gift with
languages bridges the gap between whites and Indigenous, as he is able to speak
English to the Gaunt brothers. Without the understanding of language, the
relationship between the Metis man and the English brothers would never have been
established. PROOF COMMENT
Names create an identity, and Vanderhaeghe uses this convention to further confuse
the division between Indigenous and white. Jerry Potts is also referred to as Ky yo
kosi and Bear Child throughout the novel, mirroring his own inner conflict of being
unsure of what he really is. He wants to be a Blackfoot, a Real Person
(Vanderhaeghe 106) but he is most commonly called by his white name, reminding
the reader of his positions on both sides. Another instance for confusion is when a
Metis brother is referred to with his white and Indigenous name together in a
sentence. Unborn Calf...McKay s pony (330).
Health and illness do not have concrete characteristics in The Last Crossing.
Addington s battle against syphilis, Custis near fatal ailment, and the Indigenouss
constant fight with smallpox show that appearances are deceiving. Addington is
battling with syphilis throughout the book and his health fluctuates between well and
unwell. Addington s health picks up from being liverish and out of sorts, complexion
poor, teeth

Esophageal Cancer
Esophagus is a muscular tube of about 10 inches in length connecting the mouth and
stomach. The Major function of Esophagus is to help the movement of food from
mouth to stomach. Esophagus is lined by a layer of protective lining that shields it
from getting injured by the food movement. The cells of this lining actively
regenerate and help in healing in case of an injury.
Esophageal Cancer Its Causes
Esophageal cancer is a malignant tumor that develops in the esophagus. Although it
is not clear as of what causes esophageal cancer. The major cause is DNAmutation of
the cells in the esophagus that makes them grow rapidly and divide without
inhibition. If not detected in the early stages these cells spread to the adjacent tissues

The weather of the 3 cities over the past four days shows that Vancouver has the
highest temps which are: 9В°C, 7В°C, 4В°C, and 8В°C, there were 4 days with no
precipitation. Vancouver has such warm temperatures because it has the Pacific
Ocean nearby that pushes cold air and water heats slow, and the lack of precipitation
is caused by the fact that the its too coldfor water vapor to appear but no too cold for
snow. Toronto has the second warmest temperatures which are: 8.6В°C, 16В°C,
10В°C, and 10В°C, in Toronto there were 3 days without precipitation but one day

enough heat for the water cycle, it s also due to the low latitudes and Lake Ontario
keeps a slight amount of heat. Saskatoon was the coldest of the three with temps of:

Life zones on a mountain reflect the changes, plants at the base are the same as
those in surrounding countryside, but no trees at all can grow above the timber
line. Snow crowns the highest elevations. Another factor is landforms, air masses
meet at a mountain and it is forced upwards and this has an effect, the air cools. Air
can only keep some moisture, once it reaches its limit the moisture is offloaded in
the form of rain. The colder the air, the less water vapor it can contain so as the air
rises and cools it leads to precipitation. Vancouver has mountains and is heated by
the water. Toronto has many pavement roads the ground cools quickly, but it has a
slight high elevation which cause it to experience cold weather. Saskatoon has no
vegetation and has a lower elevation which cause it to be really cold because air is

28. The Impact Of Social Media And Its Impact On Society
It is proven that social media has had a huge impact on the way we live our daily
lives. Not only has it changed the way we go about our days, it has changed the
way we communicate and interact with the ones we care the most about. Social
media has positively and negatively impacted our relationships with others. The
original intent of social network was to allow people to more readily stay
connected with friends and family (Qualman, 286). Yet, how regularly do we
judge how much social media has affected the way we interface with those that we
are closest to? Social media has allowed us to connect with more people in various
parts of the world that we wouldn t necessarily meet on a week to week basis. With
the expansion in the number of contacts, we can observe that we have access to
numerous more thoughts and assets. It is a lot easier to meet people that have the
same traits as you, and it is shown when out of five couples meet online (Qualman,
274). Websites like E Harmony, Tinder, and Match.com make it easier for single
people to find other s online and communicate before even meeting them. Social
media has made it simpler to broaden your effective reach and grow it to incorporate
individuals you d get the chance to meet, or might want to know better. Many
relationships have flourished and grown into marriages because of these websites and
apps and there is a potential these certain people wouldn t have met without them. In
the previous couple of years, online

These recommendations are based on: (1) our newly completed two year study of
previous mass media campaigns and innovative practices in advertising, marketing,
and public relations; and (2) our experience in implementing the Harvard Alcohol
Project, a research based media campaign conducted in collaboration with the nation s
broadcast, advertising, and entertainment industries. What Can Mass Media
Campaigns Accomplish In Health Promotion? When the broadcast media emerged as
a major force, many public health advocates assumed that the presentation of factual
information through public communication campaigns would automatically change
attitudes and lead to more healthful behavior. Subsequently, when several such
campaigns produced disappointing results, this boundless optimism was replaced by
the highly pessimistic view that mass media campaigns to change behavior are
doomed to failure. Investigators recognized that a campaign could reinforce existing
behavior, but this was viewed as the most that could be achieved. Pessimists noted
that the apparent success of commercial advertising had raised unrealistic
expectations about the potential of mass media to change behavior. In fact, there are
basic differences in the goals of commercial advertising and public health campaigns.
Commercial advertising seldom is designed to bring about new attitudes or patterns
of behavior; rather, it intends to

THE PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE
Introduction
Computer technology has been a great help to the improvement of one s life. Most
establishments, corporations and institutions had developed their own use of such
technology to help themselves work more efficiently with less time and effort,
resulting in better production, profit, and a more satisfied clientele.
One example of computer technology is the creation of a computer system. A

Those Damned Stockings!
You didn t love her. You just didn t want to be alone. Or maybe, maybe she was good

Grey s Anatomy
In Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman, Miller uses many objects and events to
represent bigger ideas and themes to help ground the story and make it less
confusing. Many of these objects could represent multiple ideas within the story, and
it is up to the reader to interpret what they believe the objects represent. One such
object is stockings. Miller uses Linda s stockings to represent her love for Willy and
how it is ripped and torn but mended just like fragile silk stockings. There is the odd
resistance Willy shows to her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
WILLY: I have no stockings here!
THE WOMAN: You had two boxes of size nine sheers for me, and I want them!
WILLY: Here, for God s sake, will you get outa here!
THE WOMAN (enters holding a box of stockings) (Miller (FIND PAGE NUMBER)
The Woman wants Willy to show that he is willing to ignore Linda s care in order to
be with her. Miller represents this through the stockings. He gives the Woman
countless of Linda s stockings, and in that abandons Linda for another woman. He
later regrets this and wants to deny it happened and pretend he did nothing wrong.
However he cannot change the fact that their relationship was damaged because of
his actions and he cannot take back what he did to Linda.
Linda is often seen repairing her expensive, silk stockings whenever there is
something damaging to their relationship hinted at or when she has a fight with
Willy. One such example is after the long scene with Willy s mistress:
And thanks for the stockings. I love a lot of stockings...
(The Woman bursts out laughing, and Linda s laughter blends in. The Woman
disappears into the dark. Now the area at the kitchen table brightens. Linda is sitting
where she was at the kitchen table, but now is mending a pair of her silk stockings.)
LINDA: You are, Willy. The handsomest man. You ve got no reason to feel that...

32. I Woke At The Sound Of Roosters Greeting
I awoke to the sound of roosters greeting the morning outside my window.
Breathing in the already hot tropical air, I detected notes of coffee wafting from
the adjacent common living space, which doubled as a kitchen. After spending
only three days in Piedras Gordas, Panama, my host family had embraced my
broken Spanish and love for fresh juice, but SeГ±or Dominguez had yet to approve
of me helping with the sugar cane harvest. The differences between our cultures
were apparent, yet I was ready to embrace them and expand my horizons. Panama
is an interesting contradiction, with bustling cities only miles from quiet mountain
villages. With over 80% of Panama s rural population living in poverty, few
families own cars in the village that became my home for a week. The village is a
sprawling collection of houses, a school, a small co op, one church, and a rather
abandoned looking medical clinic. The only characteristic of the stark concrete
structure revealing it as such is a sign reading ClГnica, barely visible through
overgrown grass. One day, as we were walking to a neighbor s, I pointed to the
structure, asking my host mother what it was. She explained it was a medical clinic,
but only staffed with nurses a couple times a month. Any other medical needs or
emergencies must be taken care of in the nearby town, approximately 30 minutes by
bus. Though I found this disconcerting, she simply continued our conversation this
level of care is her norm. This poignant moment added

The Queen Bee and Her Court
Classification is the action or process of classifying something according to shared
qualities or characteristics. In The Queen Bee and Her Court Rosalind Wiseman
talked about classifying high school cliques. These classifications are: The Queen
Bee, Sidekick, Banker, Floater, Torn Bystander, Pleaser/Wannabe/Messenger, and
Target. The Queen Beeis the ringleader of this clique. She is the one who tells
everyone what to do and she is not intimidated by anyone. The Sidekick is a
pushover. The Banker is extremely secretive. The Floater spends time with any and
everyone in the school. The Torn Bystander is not good at saying no to her friends.
The Pleaser/Wannabe/Messenger is the person who has all of the gossip.
My classifications on people are both negative and positive. My negative
classifications are: all caucasians are snobby, rich, and selfish, all blonde women are
dumb, and only anorexic women can become models. My positive classifications
are: people who challenge themselves are more likely to succeed in careers, African
Americans can dance, and African Americans are good at sports. Some people have

such as Legally Blonde, Mean Girls, and White Chicks. In all of these movies,
there was some form of a blonde being labeled as unintelligent, slutty girls with the
intention of hurting their feelings. All caucasian are labeled as either rich, snobby,
or both. I can prove this classification wrong because one of my closest friends is
caucasian and he would give his last to me if I needed it. Anorexic women are not
the only women who can become models. There are many plus sized women who
are models and they are
34. Analysis Of The Film Oren Peli
It is rare that a film comes out of nowhere and shocks audiences, especially with the
film industry s emphasis on advertisements. However, Paranormal Activity did just
that. Oren Peli, along with Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat, started a franchise
out of a week long project with no script. By capitalizing on realism to provoke fear
within viewers, Paranormal Activity grossed over 10,000 times its budget, in part by
utilizing fans to promote the film. Considering the success of the film, Paranormal
Activity only cost $11,000 to make. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Peli
breaks down exactly where every part of the budget went, citing the software and
computer he used to edit the film as the largest expense at $4,000. Peli paid for all of
these expenses, putting all of the risk involved with the project on him. Although the
film would be distributed by Paramount Picturestwo years after completion, the
success of the film relied on Peli s execution. Peli uses this risk to his advantage,
making sure every detail in the film is relevant and captures his vision. Yet, the final
scene of the film strays from this technique, and for good reason. Steven Spielberg,
whose company DreamWorkswas acquired by Paramount during this time, viewed
the film prior to its distribution and worked tirelessly to get it released. In the same
interview with Entertainment Weekly, Spielberg is quoted as saying: I sent more
emails and made more phone calls, trying to get everybody to

His friendship with Sugreeva is an example for us. Hanuman proved his true

37. Gustave Le Bon
In the light of the reading materials for this unit, I will try discuss the crowd of
Gustave Le Bon which is a study of popular mind. In his book one, Le Bon has
shown us several characteristics of the crowd psychology such as impulsiveness,
irritability, and incapacity to reason, the absence of judgments of the critical spirit,
the exaggeration of sentiments, and so forth (Wikipedia.org). Le Bon defined
Crowd in its ordinary sense as means a gathering of individuals of whatever
nationality, professor, or sex, and whatever the chances that have brought them
together (web.archive.org). Le Bon claimed that an individual in a crowd is a grain
of sand amid other grain of sand, which the mindstirs up at will (Wikipedia.org).
From the psychological point of view the expression crowd assumes quite a different
signification. Under certain given circumstances, and only under those circumstances,
an agglomeration of men presents new characteristics very different from those of the
individuals composing it (web.archive.org).For Le Bon, the sentiments and ideas of

In his book, Le Bon has also detailed three key processes that create the
psychological crowd: noted as anonymity, contagion, and suggestively

unreasoning, and emotional. This lack of self restraint allows individuals to yield to
instincts and to accept the instinctual drives of their racial

Hashimoto s disease also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis is an autoimmune
disease that causes hypothyroidism. An autoimmune disease is a disease that stems
from an irregular response from the immune system to attack the patient s own cells
specifically those in the thyroid gland. In Hashimoto s disease the antibodies actually
attack and destroy cells of the thyroidgland. This destruction leads to a drop in the
production of the triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). When the body detects
the decreased production of T3 and T4 it begins to try to correct the imbalance and
creates an increased production of thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH) from the
hypothalamus which then stimulates the anterior pituitary gland to release the thyroid

disease have a significant risk of developing this disease. Untreated hashimoto s
disease has some secondary conditions that can develop such as goiters, heart
conditions, mental health problems, myxedema and birth defects. This disease is
most often diagnosed by the patient s primary care provider through a blood test
checking the hormone and antibody levels. Increased levels of TRH, TSH and
antibody levels in combination with low levels of T3 and T4 will confirm the
diagnosis. Once diagnosed the patient is started on synthetic hormones, most
commonly levothyroxine or synthroid. Regular monitoring every six months to a

The 1984 Election
As the sun rose on the beautiful American Heartland the soft tone of a narrator

The ad Morning in America echoes the overall message Ronald Reagan s campaign

42. Preserving Historic District Conservation Project
A historic district or heritage district is a section of a city which contains older
buildings considered valuable for historical or architectural reasons. This definition
first appeared in Athens Charter, 1933. In China, any region that is classified as a
historical district should contain a group of buildings that have cultural heritage
significance with relatively integrated exterior and structures. All of these historic
districts are cultural artifacts, and their stories are entwined with relevant human
civilization. Thus, for cultural heritage conservation, 99 National Historic and
Culturally Famous Towns have been promulgated by Chinese State Council in three
groups since 1982. At the same time, different provinces and autonomous regions
have also issued their own list of Historical and Culturally Famous communities.
However, I considered that during the implementation of promoting historic district
conservation project, many people misunderstand the initial purpose and the process
of restoration. Therefore, huge numbers of cultural heritages were transformed to
fake antique , and the cultural heritage value of relevant places has been seriously
diminished.
Currently, historic districts are seriously affected by urban modernization and
commercialization. During different parties are willing to take part in relevant
conservation project, how to maintain a balance between development and cultural
heritage conservation has become one of most popular issue in
43. Rhetoric Summary
Many look at the subject of history as sifting through facts and personal accounts to
uncover the events of the past. However, history is more than dry facts. History often
intertwines with culture to give a more well rounded view of particular places and
people. In the nineteenth century, nationalism began to take hold in Europe. While it
might be common to think of nationalism in terms of revolt, nationalism also served
as a unifying force through cultural elements, such as folklore. Individuals from
around the world began collecting folk tales, songs, and dances that contributed to the
centralization of nationalistic movements that created independent nations. One such
collector was Francis James Child, an American Professor of Rhetoric... Show more

Folklore was directly connected with Romantic nationalism, because it embodies
the traditional elements of the way of life of a group of people and the creative
expressions developing naturally as a part of this way of life. 14 Tangible cultural
artifacts such as stories, dances, ballads, and hand crafts reveal general beliefs of
particular groups.15Child embodied the Romantic nationalism movement. When
Child recorded the English and Scottish Popular Ballads, he specifically wrote in the
vernacular and dialect of the groups where he collected the stories and songs. Also,
his bibliography lists over fifty manuscripts in addition to several hundred printed
collections. For each ballad, he included every version he knew of. He preceded
each ballad with a note explaining its origin and its parallels in world literature,
referencing texts in over forty languages. 16 Child researched manuscripts from
England and Scotland, particularly old manuscripts that had transcribed the words of
actual singers before cheap printing had allowed corruptions to creep into the texts.
To retain the authenticity of the ballads, he planned to use only works orally
transmitted by uneducated people. 17 Additionally, Child sought both advice and aid
from scholarly communities located in Britain and North America, especially Child s
fellow Harvard scholars during
44. Summary Of Surprise By Jane Kenyon
Psychoanalysis can be inscribed in many poems subliminally. Authors tend to use
psychoanalysis to solve the concern of a psychological issue or dysfunction problem
that they have encountered. It is the conscious awareness of not knowing what the
problem is that gives it so much control of our destructive behavior. As human beings,
we often repress our deepest fears, emotions and experiences that tend to unfurl in the
future beyond our control. Until we can acknowledge and openly admit to ourselves
the cause of this, we will continue to disguise the problems unconsciously. It benefits
our mental state for a certain length of time, but we ultimately suffer from it in the
end. In her poem, Surprise, Jane Kenyon utilizes fear of betrayal, the doubleand being
forced into a regressive state that creates her fear to be intimate. In the poem,
Surprise, Kenyon displays psychoanalysisby revealing the fear of betrayal through
the main characters feelings. The female speaker in the poem unfolds her
repressed feelings about her past experiences that now currently torments her
mental state. She explains the kind suggestions of a man, such as dining together
for pancakes and taking a stroll through a field of mayflowers. To her knowledge
he offers her a morning of happiness, and an opportunity to spend quality time with
this man who could possibly become a significant lover. At this point in the poem,
she does not conclude more than a casual date with this man seeing that he only
offers that much to her. She is unaware of his intent to surprise her and this is what
causes her fear of being betrayed. Though this is normally an act of kindness, she
receives it as a symbol of deception. He leads her to believe that he wants to spend
time with her, when in reality he is hiding his actual intent. This subtle dishonesty
reveals the repressed feelings she unconsciously has due to past experiences and
therefore twists this kind gesture into a feelingof betrayal. This feeling then provokes
her fear to be intimate with him, or in general. Kenyon establishes the state of the
double through the role of the male character. The male in this poem is presumed as
a kind, pleasant fellow who wants to please this woman and make her
