experiences, modeling digital-age work,
promoting digital citizenship, and
engaging in professional development
and leadership in schools” (Maloy et al,
2017).

technological factors” (Technology Determinism. n.d)

Editor's Notes

  1. Today, teachers have online access to detailed and proven teaching and learning materials whose resources provide ongoing lesson development ideas for every teaching situation”. (Maloy et al, 2017). Technology opens doors for educators to develop creative and engaging lessons that heighten attention and focus in content areas.
  2. Facilitating whole group activities helps promote collaboration and participation and gives students a chance to share ideas and how they research relevant topics.
  3. When conducting research and teaching students the importance of being on a platform comes the tools for making sure students don’t compromise any forms of privacy. As with any social medium, teachers must measure the risks and complexities of online communications. All tweets need to be professional in nature and without personal information”. (Maloy et al, 2017).
  4. Handheld devices provide flexibility and are great for simulation and interactive games. Handheld devices can be used for research and pulling information for class discussions. “Examples include accessing the web for class discussion, using technology for presentations or simulations, having students use handheld and wireless devices as part of group projects, and integrating handheld and wireless devices into academic activities”, (Maloy et al, 2017).
  5. Feature a technology you feel confident using with students as the centerpiece of the lesson plan—for instance, PowerPoint or Prezi presentation software, educational videos, interactive websites, research using online learning resources, a student response system, or another interactive technology”. (Maloy et al, 2017).Having technology expectations creates organization for class learning goals with technology incorporation.
  6. For instance, in a classroom with only an interactive whiteboard and one computer, learning will still remain teacher centered and integration will revolve around teacher needs, which are not necessarily student needs”. (Edutopia, 2007). Teaching with one computer can still serve as a valuable resource but will be better to be used for prompts and presentations that are at the center of student learning.
  7. Multi Computer classes help build fast and easy access to search and increase better opportunities for accessing information on topics and increase student performance due to managing time with schedules.
  8. The following handouts will discuss both the agenda and the second handout will help educators identify different types of technology resources so the can incorporate them in their classrooms and learn about sources that can be used for individualization, small, and whole groups.
