Technology use refers broadly to using technology in daily life and activities, while technology integration specifically involves using technology in educational contexts to enhance student learning. Technology integration encourages students to engage with technology in ways that promote conceptual understanding, application of knowledge to real-world problems, and development of critical thinking skills. Educators facilitate student communication, collaboration, and assessment using technology. While technology use on its own is not the same as integration, ensuring technology is incorporated into lesson plans across subjects can benefit students.

2. Technology Use: Using technology in the real world by engaging in different activities consisting of different types of technology. Technology is “ the combination of human imagination, inventiveness and electronic tools that transform ideas into reality to meet a need or solve a problem ”

3. Technology Integration Definition Educators use technology to create rich environments where student work shows evidence of conceptual understanding beyond recall. Educators use technology to encourage students to engage in activities that develop understanding and create personal meaning through reflection. Educators use technology to provide opportunities for students to apply knowledge in real world contexts. Educators use technology to enhance and differentiate instruction in order to present students with a challenging curriculum designed to help each individual student develop a depth of understanding and critical thinking skills.

6. NO! I do not think that they are the same, in fact they are very different from eachother.

7. Why do they differ? Technology Use: I feel that technology use is more of a broad term. Technology use can refer to basically anything. Working with any form of technology is considered to be technology use, and though technology is used in the classroom, this does not necessarily include integration in the classroom.

8. Why do they differ? Technology Integration: Technology should be integrated into the classrooms. It is extremely important for students to have the opportunity to engage in and experiment with different technology resources. It is the teachers responsibility to help the students to have this opportunity. This can enhance their learning through interactive activities that involve both communication with peers and technology. “ Technology should enhance learning. There is no value in just having access to it but more important how it is used.”

9. They are not the same. Though, it is still important to make sure that technology is constantly integrated into school lesson plans whether its with reading, writing, spelling, science, math, or social studies.
