A Brief Summary Of Starsha North
Located in the court room, so quiet one could hear a pin drop, stands Starsha North convicted of
cold blooded murder. Starsha North a quiet, calculated, woman labeled as a psychopathic
schizophrenic. Ever since a young age, Starsha had loved dogs. They were her only companion in
this world and she would do anything to protect her beloved friends. Even go as far as murderto
save them.
And defending Starsha is Cassandra Kuyper a 29 year old blonde, professionally dressed woman
who became a lawyer through hard work and dedication. She has never lost a court case and
doesn t plan to lose one. On the opposite of the side is Trent Topper. A man of mid forties, dressed
in a wrinkly suit with his hair disheveled. Trent Topper is a man of money and bought... Show more

Cassandra Kuyer: That will be all Miss North walks back to her seat Judge Grand: Mr topper you

Trent Topper: walks up to Starsha North Miss North you say there was a struggle, but at the crime
scene there was no sign of a struggle.

Trent Topper: Now Miss North why did you bring a gun to the money exchange when you thought
you would get your dogs back.
Starsha North: I brought it for self defense
Trent Topper: My final question for you Miss North is why did you not contact police when your
dogs went missing and when or if you were called about the ransom?

The Understanding Of Reading Comprehension
Abstract Reading is the process of constructing meaning through the self motivated interaction
among the reader s knowledge and the material proposed by the written language and the context
of the reading situation. The understanding of reading comprehension is to teach reading to
students acquire reading skills to become independent learners. The strategies of teaching will be
used to help students achieve their reading goals. In areas such as mathematics, developing teacher
content knowledge has been a major concern because it is generally accepted that teachers who
know these subjects are better able to teach them. As teachers, we need to research strategies that
can be used to teach students how to read in every content area. Our focus in this literature review
will be on mathematics and how teachers can find different strategies and activities to use to help
students learn to read and also to use prior knowledge as they implement these strategies.
Keywords: Knowledge Content, comprehension, mathematics Introduction Reading is a natural life
skill, and students must be able to read in order to function in society. Even in our everyday
responsibilities such as working, grocery shopping, driving, banking, and reading the newspaper,
we are required to do some sort of reading. One of the ways in which teachers can help students
improve their reading skills is through strategy instruction (Duke Pearson, 2002). Strategy
instruction involves teaching

The Critique Of Hester Prynne In On The Scarlet Letter
Throughout D.H. Lawrence s critique, On the Scarlet Letter, Lawrence emphasizes the idea that
Hester Prynne is condemned by today s society, as well as the late Puritan society. He further
criticizes her actions, willing to depict her to be a demon more than a simple sinner. D.H. Lawrence
evaluates Hester Prynnes flaws by using succinct diction, sarcasm, and biblical allusions. By
utilizing succinct diction, D.H. Lawrence ridicules Hester in order to expose the severity her sin.
Lawrence simultaneously attacks Hester Prynne s character in a figurative manner as he refers to
her as [an] Adulteress. Alpha. Abel, Adam. A (Lawrence). In a figurative sense, Lawrence
condenses his words in order to shoot Hester down with characteristics that best describe her. He
exposes her flaws through a series of attacks regarding her most prominent qualities: that she is an
adulteress; that she is a sinner who precedes the future generations; and that her sin is equal to that
of Adam s original sin. It is through the words that dignify the absolute worst of sinning in which
Lawrence s negative outlook on Hester is revealed. Succinct diction that symbolize and refer to sin
uncover Hester s withdrawal from attaining the moral perfection that Puritans desire. Lawrence
considers Hester s mortal sin as a reason that her life becomes a failure, that [her life] becomes a
farce (Lawrence). Lawrence is insightful in exposing Hester s flaws as, through his diction, he
argues that her

How Community Nursing Can Potentially Address Them
According to one recent study, more than 1.5 million people experience homelessness in the
United States every year (Doran, 2013, p. 355). Individuals of all ages and from all walks of life
face homelessness today. While already facing this one adversity, they also face inadequate health
care in a variety of ways. They face specific healthproblems in higher concentrations than other
populations, including mental health disorders and substance abuse (Harkness, 2012). Many also
face chronic health conditions such as diabetes or hypertension that go untreated (Harkness,
2012). In addition, access to health care is a barrier with which this population struggles. Healthy
People 2020 includes goals to improve access to comprehensive, quality health care services and
improve health related quality of life and well being for all individuals (2020 Topics and
Objectives, 2010). This paper reviews these goals in light of the homeless population and explores
how community nursing can potentially address them.
The goal to improve access to health care services is important in the homeless population. The
homeless often lack the ability to pay for health services. Many homeless remain uninsured or
underinsured (Parker, 2013). Without insurance, the homeless of the United States have little to no
access to preventative services (Parker, 2013). Instead, they rely on emergency departments for
treatment (Doran, 2013). This occurs for many reasons. First, it is one of the only places

Regional Trade Arrangements Of Africa And Their Motives Essay
2.Regional Trade Arrangements in Africa and Their Motives Regionalism has become one of the
buzz words in international trade diplomacy nowadays. There is almost no country in the world
which does not have membership in one or two regional economic integrations, and the coverage
and scope of these arrangements have grown more than ever before. Different authors have used
different approaches to define the concept of regional integration. Therefore, it is important to
discuss the definitions of economic integration according to the most prominent authors in the field
of regional integration before taking on the theoretical and empirical literatures of the concept. One
of the widely accepted definitions of economic integration is that of Balassa (1961), which is
defined as the abolition of discrimination within an area . Another very important definition of
economic integration relevant to developing countries is that of Kahnert, P. Richards, Stoutjesdijk,
and Thomopoulos (1969). According to these authors, economic integration is the process of
progressive removal of trade discriminations which occur at national borders . Furthermore,
Machlup (1977) defines economic integration as a process of merging separate economies into a
larger economic region with the objective of realizing the efficient utilization of all potential
opportunities of the division of labor. From the above definitions, it can be inferred that all the
definitions spin around one central point; and

Narrative Essay On Waiting On God
Dreaming with God is a beautiful gift from Him, and although questions filled my limited mind,
my capacity to comprehend, I owe everything to the Lord whose grace and love abundantly flows.
A series of parabolic dreams and clear visions flooded my sleep nights, and what the Lord
apparently conveyed has created a mixed feeling of excitement and confusion.
Inquisitiveness to understand the mysteries of the night parables led me to dig deeper into His
word. But I couldn t seem to weave the thread together the way it should a sizeable amount of
thread was missing. Prayers for help and wisdom became my expressions and it was in this season
of waiting that I have learned a valuable lesson:
Waiting on God is not a passive move we have to deliberately seek His Word with an attitude of
meekness and rely on the Spirit of God to illuminate hidden things.
One specific dream has baffled me for a long time.
Looking at these two kinds of trees in the garden that were parallel to each other has created
curiosity within. The tree on the left was radiantly shining, abundantly flourishing with green
foliage and strong branches, which reflect goodness and vitality. The other tree on the right was
the exact opposite, dead and wilted, and not one leaf on the branches remains. While gazing on
these two trees, trying to analyze what I was seeing, I heard a voice that said the word nation .
The sound of this voice woke me up mystified. I prayed and sought the meaning of this dream,

The Importance Of Florida Lawn Pests
For many homeowners, South Florida is a paradise where mere lawns and yards can become
luscious landscapes. But families aren t the only ones to enjoy the tropical outdoors. Florida
outdoor pests can endanger the grounds around your home. Controlling Florida lawn pests are an
important part of South Florida life.
Among the common kinds of Florida outdoor pests are chinch bugs, which can cause major plant
damage. Whiteflies often attack and even kill ficus trees and hedges by feeding on the undersides
of leaves. They ve become a major part of Florida yard pests and can cause plant leaves to yellow
or drop off entirely, often covering the plant with flocculent, a white sticky material.
Pink hibiscus flowers may be lovely in your yard, but the

Samuel Slater s Views Of The Industrial Revolution
The North and the South stood as two distinct regions during the antebellum period in America. The
North and the South were rapidly diverging in all aspects: cultural, economic, and technological.
The Northern industrial sector was modernizing the North, and the economy was starting to become
more dependent upon manufacturing. Culturally, the Women s Rights movement was advancing as
more and more women fought against the Cult of Domesticity. Women entered the man s sphere
and began to work in factories. In the South cotton became the cash crop and slavery was an
integral part of their economy and culture. The views propounded by Southern elites of their home
region and its way of life did not resemble those held by Northern observers of the... Show more

The South considered agriculture, especially the production of cotton, to be the crux of their
economy. The South was producing half of the world s cotton. Sprawling estates and plantations
with hundreds of slaves running them dotted the southern region. Eli Whitney s cotton gin made
cotton production easier, faster, and it revived the industry once again. Soon, tons of cotton was
being traded in foreign countries and in the North. Cotton was a fast cash business, but it ruined
the soil, leaving the plantation owners to constantly be looking for new land. In little to no time,
the South had become a one crop economy with everything becoming dependent on cotton sales,
which were dependent on other factors such as demand for cotton goods. One of the most
lucrative, horrifying, and large businesses was the slave trade. Many Southern whites considered
slavery a necessity for their economy. The South was able to produce these enormous amounts of
cotton because of the manual labor provided by slaves. In the beginning, during the era of George
Washington and Thomas Jefferson, slavery was considered a necessary evil. However, views of
slavery were rapidly changing and by the Jacksonian era, many Southerners saw no other option
than slavery. William Harper, a jurist in South Carolina, ventured to say, The cultivation... of great
staple crops cannot be

The s Perspective On Alcohol Abuse
Bruffee s Perspective on Alcohol Abuse Bruffee was unsuccessful in grabbing my attention
because his persuasive ways were weak and ineffective. I find his persuasiveness to be imprecise
with no correlation between binge drinking and loneliness. For instance, his claims are supported
based on personal experiences and personal observations such as students having difficulty
making a new group of friends, being desperate to belong and creating an academic background.
Unlike Weschler, Bruffee does not use scientific studies, real examples and realistic solutions to
adequately connect binge drinkers and introverts; therefore, Bruffee is less successful because he
failed to support many of his claims, and his conclusion is incomplete. First of all, there is some
credibility in his article trying to capture the reader interest in why binge drinkingis an issue on
college campuses, in which he provides statistic reports with cause and effect. However, credibility
gets lost when he uses himself as an example of why students join fraternities. Bruffee says that
one of the reasons he joined was because he felt desperate to belong. In addition, Bruffee also
implies that Fitting in motivates freshmen students to join fraternities and sororities which leads
them to binge drinking. In my own perspective, his claims are lacking support and based on
assumptions of his own experience that comes off as vague and inaccurate; most of the students
would not join a fraternity just because

Development in System Networks
Development in System Networks
What is a Network?
Communication and information are the two most important concerns for an organization.
TodayВЎВ¦s organizations use a number of computers and communication tools (telephone, faxes,
internet) to help them function in their daily operations. Communication is crucial among
departments, and information and data throughout the organization needs to be easily accessed in
order to allow for a steady workflow. To overcome these obstacles, computer networksare
necessary. Computer networks allow the user to access programs and databases, and it provides
communication possibilities faster than other methods.

The drawback to a LAN is that there is a limit to the distances that computers can be shared and to
the amount of computers that can be connected to it. LANs can vary in size. A small LAN might
connect a few computers, while a large LAN could connect computers throughout a few buildings.
Common speeds are 10Mbps or 16 Mbps.
In a WAN, computers are connected together through further distances by telephone lines or radio
waves. A WAN consists of at least two LANs. The largest WAN is the Internet. A disadvantage to
a WAN is that message transmission may be delayed, lost, or damaged. Messages are passed from
one computer to another until it arrives at the destination. Effective routing techniques are
important to network performance. A single message may travel by different routes and arrive at
the destination out of order. Typical transmission speeds range from 56 Kbps to 1.54 Mbps.
A MAN is designed for a town or city. MANs are larger than local area networks, but smaller than
wide area networks. MANs are usually characterized by very high speed connections using fiber
optic cables or other digital media (pcwebopedia).

The church has influenced various issues in our society. The issues which have been influenced are
abortion, divorce, homosexuality, and poverty. But before we look at how these issues were
influenced lets first look at some of the aspects of the church.
The churches mass is made up of two parts the liturgy of the word and the liturgy of the Eucharist
for the duration of which the Holy Communion is rejoiced. Mass is the center of worship that
Catholics participate in. Catholics are supposed to attend Mass every Sunday and on a small

Minors who have been sexually abused by constituents of the clergy has become an important
focus in the U.S. as well as some European nations. In the year 2002, the U.S. Conference of
Catholic Bishops endorsed a Charter for the Protection of Young People and Children. However, the
Vatican did not support the Charter by claiming impending clashes among the plan s procedures and
the laws of the Church. The bishops altered their policies later. In the year 2004, the first major
study of child sexual maltreatment in the U.S. church has discovered that from 1950 2002, about
four percent, or 4,392 priests, were engaged in committing sexual abuses to more than 10,000
children. Researches also came across that the church has spent $572 million in imbursements to
victims, treatment for priests, and legal charges.
Abortion is another controversial subject that has been continually argues over for the past few
years and probably many years to come. The main controversy is should abortion be legalized?
There are two sides to this abortion topic the Pro Life which are those who are against abortion
and the Pro Choice or those who believe it is the woman s right to choose if she wants to have an
abortion.
Despite the Bible failing to condemn the practice of abortion, it does place great emphasis on the

The Impact Of Material Failure In The Titanic Disaster
The failure of engineering materials is almost always an undesirable event for many reasons include
putting human lives in hazard and causing economic losses. However, even if the causes and the
behavior of materials may be known, it is difficult and not guaranteed to prevent the failures. It is
the responsibility of the engineer to realize beforehand and plan for possible failure and, in the
event that failure does occur, to fix its cause and then take appropriate preventive measures against
future incidents. This essay is going to analyze material failure during Titanic incident, different
measures to take to prevent the same failure, understand the impact of mechanical engineering
solutions. Before writing further about material failure, let s start with short history about Titanic
incident.
Titanic was the largest ship in the time of her construction, 1909. Her dimensions were nearly 900
feet long, and 46000 tons of weight. Unfortunately, the Titanic experienced the worst possible
accident in the sea when she smashed a massive iceberg and sank in less than three hours. The
accident damaged almost 300 feet of the ship s hull, over one thousand people died, and the crash
allowed water to get in the ship.
When the Titanic crashed with the iceberg, the hull steel (watertight body of a ship or boat) failed
because of the brittle fracture. This fracture is a type of catastrophic failure in structural materials
because it occurs without any indication of plastic deformation

Z6 House Case Study
All rooms in Z6 house receive plenty of light since the building envelope is 73% (area) glazing. A
big window can let in plenty of outdoor air and sunshine to stop the growth of bacteria. In Z6 house,
skylights will bring light into the two bathrooms in the upstairs. The southwest, southeast, and
northeast exterior have operable windows and doors, while the northwest facade has a translucent
insulated panel for daylight transmission in a direction without desirable views. Scientists
discovered daylight through glass could stop the growth of bacteria. There is a research highlighted
that how day lighting can significantly increase human healthand performance.
We spend almost 90 per cent of times in our homes, which mean we inhale huge amount of
indoor air, so it is very easy to see how indoor air quality impact our health. According to the
research carried out by Steven E. Ternoey which titled Day light Every Building , there are many
benefits that human can gain from day light especially in the indoor. From the research, we
know that there were noticeably less disciplinary problems and absenteeism in day lit
classrooms. Students show positive attitude and easier to focus in the class. In day lit areas,
retail sales increases of 8 to 12% were recorded. Human health appears to be measurably
benefited by relatively small indoor doses of diffuse daylight. Our body need vitamin D and

Advertising Is An Visible Constant Presence Essay
Even when we re blissfully unaware, we are being persuaded. In today s media driven world,
advertising is an almost constant presence. It is on television, in the films we watch, all over our
social media accounts, and even plastered on the walls of locations that we visit every day.
Advertising is meant to market a product or service to a consumer, utilizing mostly tactics of
persuasionto do so. Because advertisingis so continually present, companies must be more
innovative than ever with their persuasive methods. Depending on the product or service, these
methods vary but some of the popular ones include appealing to the internal attitudes of the
consumer by using strategic and repetitive methods for the delivery of the message to appeal to the
target audience. Virtually all industries do this, though a unique example of persuasion in
advertising is found in the medical and health industries; the United States is one of the few
countries that allows direct to consumer advertising for pharmaceuticals. The healthcare industry
has always had the ability to advertise but with the new medical advertising, its budget for
marketing has exploded as well.
The Food and Drug Administration, also commonly referred to as the FDA, previously banned
direct to consumer advertising for drug companies, but the restriction was lifted in 1997 and a new
age of medical advertising was born. Previously, various medications and health services were
found directly through a visit to a doctor s

Advantages Of Traditional Market Research Methods
Lisel Douglas Argumentative Essay 2014 11 04 (Title) There is no doubt that traditional market
research methods have proven themselves to be valuable in helping businesses to determine the
next steps in, and governmental organizations study the population over which it governs.
Traditional market research methods such as surveys in person, mail, telephone, and now,
online, have proven to be reliable means of gathering information about a market. Qualitative
methods, like focus groups, and in depth interviews have also been accepted as reliable means
for collecting a certain kind of information about a market. However, according to the AAPOR,
we are entering a new era, where traditional survey research may play a less dominant role.
Businesses and organizations may look more to Big Data and social media research for answers
to their questions. This paper is not a discussion of the merits of traditional methods vs. newer
methods, from an either/or perspective. The intention is to explain why social media as a
potentially reliable market research method, should not be dismissed due perceived pitfalls. There
are many areas of concern, but this paper will address only three: measurement challenges, wrong
answers, and quality. The AAPOR states that, the reasons to consider social media in public opinion
and survey research are no different than those of any alternative method as essentially the ultimate
concern of market research is answering research questions, and

The Resistance Of Bacteria And Antibiotics
The resistance of bacteria to antibiotics is becoming a grave and global medical problem. This is
because whenever antibiotics are taken the development of resistance is a given consequence;
bacteria adapt to changing environmental conditions through the continuous process of evolution.
The main issue with antibiotics is not whether but when antibiotic resistancewill occur.
This resistance is caused by the lack of new antibiotics available and continuing over prescription of
antibiotics. Any bacteria that acquire resistance alleles, by either random mutation or genetic
exchange with other bacteria, have the capability to resist multiple antibiotics. Therefore, the
process of bacteria gaining multiple resistance attributes over time gives bacteria the ability to
become resistant to many different families of antibiotics.
Nosocomial infections are, in particular, an progressively prevalent problem. This is because
weakened immune systems of hospital patients make them particularly vulnerable to infection. E.
coli is frequent cause of infection, especially in the urinary tract. This means patients catheters
could easily be at risk to a resistant strand of E.coli. In the US alone, the overall cost for medical
intervention of nosocomial urinary tract infections is staggering, with approximately $424 million
to $451 million spent annually in the United States to manage these infections (source).

The sand asaulted my cheeks with their roughness, but soon the wind died down and the sand was

Turning my focus back to the church building, I noticed several Bolivians standing inside the
iron gate. These people were all dark skinned with crinkles around their eyes, showing their love
to laugh. They were dressed plainly, one boy wearing a shirt that proudly advertised Coca Cola.
The girls were dressed in shorts and tank tops, and most of the boys just wore a pair of ragged
shorts. I half anticipated them to smell like dirty laundry and unkept hair, but as I received the
welcoming hugs, I knew I was grossly wrong. Accompanying these people was the cleanest
smell I think I have ever smelled. It clung to them, in their hair, on their clothes and on their skin.
The smell of Tommy Girl even came to me after hugging one teenager. The little boys, though
dirty with sand streaked faces and hands, were just as eager to give and receive hugs as the rest of
the group. Even they smelled of freshly aired laundry and clean hair. Behind them, stood the church
as well as a few other buildings.

My Fear Of Drowning
Everyone has a greatest fear whether it be from fear of dolls to fear of death. Fear is
characterized by a feeling of terror or dread caused by an object that you believe to be harmful.
All fears are caused by an event that has happened to someone that traumatizes them for life. A fear
is sometimes unovercomable and this may be because to overcome it one must be a certain
characteristic. For example, to overcome the fearof ugliness one must lose weight and sometimes
acquire surgery. My greatest fear is the idea of drowningand this is a fear of many. I do not have a
certain characteristic to acquire before overcoming my fear of drowning except for knowledge of
pooletiquette and rules. To understand one s fear the information about the traumatizing event must
be presented. Also when they found out the fear existed and how one overcame, if did, the fear.
Fear of drowning is my greatest fear because when I was eight I drowned in a clear, blue,
treacherous pool by the hotel with the dark burgundy colored brick and cream colored doors. I
remember my cousins laugh whenever someone went the wrong way as they were playing
marco polo. I was sitting on the scorching cement by the pool when I decided I wanted to cool
down and play with everyone else. I did not have the understanding of what the big, black numbers
by the pool meant, all I saw was six and dived in. As soon as I dove in, I felt the lack of air,

Ocean Running Like A River Round A Perfectly Circular Earth
I cannot help laughing at the absurdity of all the map makers...who show Ocean running like a
river round a perfectly circular earth, with Asia and Europe of the same size...the proper notion of
the size and shape of these two continents. Persian territory extends southward to the Red Sea, as it
is called; north of them are the Medes, then the Saspires, then the Cholchians, who go as far as the
northern sea, where the mouth of the Phasis is. These four nations fill the area between the Black sea
and the Persian Gulf. Thence run westward two great continental promontories, one of which
stretches from the Phasis on the north along the Black Sea and the Hellespont to the Mediterranean
at the Sigeum in the Troad, and again, in the south, along the Mediterranean coast from the
Myriandic gulf, near Phoenicia, to Cape Triopium...Such is Asiafrom Persia westward; eastward,
beyond Media and the territories of the Saspires and Colchians...Asia is inhabited as far as
India...Such, then, are the shape and size of Asia Libya is part of the second branch I mentioned,
for it adjoins Egypt...but is soon broadens out, and what is known as Libya covers a very large
area. In view of what I have said, I cannot but be surprised at the method of mapping Libya, Asia,
and Europe. The three continents do, in fact differ very greatly in size Europe is as long as the
other two put together, and for breadth is not, in my opinion, even to be compared with them. As

Throughout Gender and Race in the Physical Sciences, I have been struck by how rarely in
STEM we shed a light on the women of color that already exist and thrive in the sciences. Often,
when we discuss diversity in the sciences, we only discuss it in the frame of a problem. More
specifically, we tend to focus on the problem of there not being enough of these women in the
field. As a result of the lack of attention paid to pioneering women in STEM, many young people
of all backgrounds are inclined to believe that there are no women of color doing great things in
the field that there are no role models. With this paper, and an on campus event to be held in the
spring, I hope to challenge people s assumptions about what a scientist looks like, and inspire
people through a discussion of innovative women of color.

Conversion As A Biblical Conversion
In the Book of Acts, Saul, before becoming Paul, was a man on a mission. Saul, being a devout
Judaizer, would stop at nothing to prevent the growth of the New Testament Church. Persecuting
and killing Christians were Saul s tactics in stopping the church, but while on the road to Damascus
(Acts 9), Saul unexpectedly encounters the Risen Lord. Following Saul s encounter with Jesus, the
Bible proceeds to record one of the most dramatic stories of conversion throughout church
history, and while Paul s conversion story is indeed dramatic, in the lives of many Christians,
conversion is a more gradual process (Carlin, 2016). Regardless of whether or not conversion is
sudden or gradual, conversion is created totally by the action of God and is enacted upon by
human beings (Carlin, 2016, p. 293). Furthermore, conversion is personal and communal,
private and public, and both passive and active (Carlin, 2016, p. 293). Likewise, conversion can
be characterized as a retreat from the world and is a source of empowerment to go into the world
and confront (Carlin, 2016, p. 293). Finally, conversion is much of an event as it is a gradual
process, but in the end, conversion leaves a person transformed (Carlin, 2016, p. 293). Hence, the
signs that an individual has converted biblically is more than just reading the Bible, praying, and
going to church. Thus, a person who has converted seeks the Kingdom of God first (Matthew 6:33)
and is born again spiritually (John 3:6) through the

Loss In Frankenstein Research Paper
The concept of loss is a natural part of human existence. It plagues humanity with its non
prejudiced hand. Cruel, it can be defined, but necessary nonetheless. How can one deal with such
damaging circumstances? Many seek respite from this inevitable evil through the raw expression
of the human soul onto paper, a novel. These thought invoking expressions have long
demonstrated human kind s ability, or lack there of, to deal with loss. From Edgar Allen Poe s
The Raven, to Henry Wadsworth Longfellow s The Cross of Snow, loss is a topic humans can
relate to on the deepest level, as it is something that we all must face. Frankenstein and The Rime of
the Ancient Mariner, two widely celebrated novels, are both are influenced by the theme of loss...

To be an individual, there must be a unique sense of one s self to feel complete. Without this
sense of one s self, the mind takes a dangerous path and finds negative things to evoke the desired
feeling of completeness. When this sense of one s self is altered, it brings disdain and guilt to
the individual. This disdain and guilt are evinced in the Rime of the Ancient Mariner, as well as
Frankenstein. Frankenstein s monster (The Creature) was an intelligent being that could think on
his own, and developed feelings and thought processes. He happened upon a family in a cottage,
and their kindness and love toward one another created the yearning of this for himself. Because
of the abnormality of his appearance, he is rejected harshly by the cottagers, losing his sense of
self from a person that deserves love, to that to a wretch, doomed forever to suffer at the rejection
of man kind. In the Rime of the Ancient Mariner the loss of self identity is presented as the
hanging of the albatross corpse around the Ancient Mariner s neck, giving allusion to a cross to
be carried, that represents the guilt of his actions: Instead of the cross, the albatross/ About my
neck was hung . (Coleridge) Instead of his identity being an honorable mariner, sailing the world
on his journey s, he is haunted by his one cruel act and forced to carry it with

Social Security
On a daily basis senior citizens face a choice between buying food, paying the rent, or buying
medicine. Senior citizens slice pills into halves because they can t afford their full prescriptions.
(Federal News Service Sept. 2002)
Social Security is what keeps many elderly and disabled Americans from being stricken by poverty.
Without Social Security in our society 15.3 million elderly would have incomes below the poverty
line, however after Social Security was added to the equation only 3.8 million elderly have
incomes below poverty. Three fourths of those elderly people who would have been poor without

This is a topic that will effect everyone, those 65 and above, and those 65 and below. Both sides of
the argument are very persuasive and their perspectives can be found below.
В· Brief History of Social Security
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, a Democratic President, invented Social Security as part of The
New Deal in the year 1935. Its invention was to combat the The Great Depression . It was invented
along with welfare to help America s elderly, disabled, and unemployed.
How Social Security functioned was a part of the workers check would be deducted and given to
the elderly as Social Security at that present time. Then in turn when that person came of age to
retire (generally 65) America s working force at the time would support them with a monthly check.
Sometimes that check would coincide with how much they made when they were working but not
always.
Since its creation in 1935 the Republican Party has been trying to change it. In 1935 the
Republican party opposed its creation, in 1964 the Republican party tried to make it voluntary ,
and now there is a new debate on Social Security and privatizing it or parts of it.
В· Current Policy by the Bush Administration (2000 2004)
When George W. Bushfirst took office he claimed that there would be no changes on Social
Security as part of his policies. Soon after he took office though things changed as he began to

How Rainwater Collection Can Help Minimize The Demand For...
Rainwater collection can help minimize the demand for water that gardening makes during the
hottest, driest periods. Rain barrels are a great way to capitalize on this free source of water.
Reasonably priced and easy to install, gardeners are advised to take a look at utilizing rain
barrels. Rainwater collection for use during dry spells is not new technology; rainwater has
been being collected for over 2,000 years. This ancient technology has found new life among
today s green gardeners. Costs of municipal water are rising and drought restrictions now face
many areas of the United States. While the average American may not be inclined to install a
large cistern in their yard, rain barrels provide a reasonably priced and easily installed option that
produces a nice supplement to traditional water sources. Water is a much valued and often taken
for granted natural resource. Water is essential to life, human, critter, plant and other. Many
Americans turn on the tap, leave it running for whatever their intended purpose, such as brushing
one s teeth, and never give a thought to the big picture of water shortages around the world. Often
gardeners turn on their sprinklers with not much thought beyond their knowledge that their plants
need a thorough soaking. It may seem to some that water is in abundance. Lakes and rivers may
dot the topo map of your region. However, consider these facts. Though 70% of the Earth surface

Benazir Bhutto
It was night of December 27, 2007, before my ninth grade final exam, I was in a tutoring center
when we heard many gunshots outside; it wasn t just one person who was shooting in the air but
several. We were frightened for our lives, as they started approaching the stores and small shops to
shut them down forcefully. The cell phone signals were jammed, and we were unable to contact our
parents. After about half an hour, we heard on in the news that the ex Prime minister and
chairperson of one of the political party (Pakistan People s Party) of Pakistan was assassinated.
Benazir Bhutto was a daughter of ex prime minister and a woman with many qualities; she was a
Harvard and Oxford graduate, a well known political figure and the first female Prime Minister of
Pakistan.
Benazir Bhutto was the eldest daughter of former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. Benazir
Bhutto was born on June 21, 1953. She became the 11th Prime Minster of Pakistan in 1988 1990
after Pakistan People s Party won the elections. Benazir Bhutto s father was a man who was highly
educated and very modern. His daughter followed his footsteps to promote the education level for
men and women in Pakistan. Bhutto was physically brave beyond comprehension. She had a

The Presentation of Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman by...
The Presentation of Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller
Willy Loman is presented as both a tragic hero and an unconscious victim in Death of a Salesman .
Death of a Salesman is very much based upon the American Dream, and whether we are slaves or
conquerors of this dream. This is an idea that the playwright Arthur Miller has very passionately
pursued both through Willy s own eyes, and through his interaction with the different characters in
the play.
Firstly, the definitions of a hero and a victim very much influence the way that Willy is viewed by
the audience. Miller has not used the play to suggest that Willy Loman is an ordinary hero, but
more a tragic hero. A tragic hero,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the contrary, we are not immediately introduced to this delusional, flaky character. At the
beginning of scene one, we see the more assertive side of Willy as he discusses business
possibilities with his wife Willy. Miller balances out the audience s perception of Willy towards
the end of the act where the more vulnerable side of Willy is illustrated, with the use of his
behaviour and the response of others to his attitude. An example of this would be Linda diligently
agreeing with Willy s strange statements.
One of Willy s traits which qualify him as a hero is his eternal sacrifice, and the way that he
throws everything into the balance in order to secure his rightful place in society, and to live the
American Dream. These sacrifices are perfectly illustrated by the long distance that Willy travels
in order to sell his stock. At the start of the play, Linda comments on his driving up to New
England to which Willy responds: I m the New England man. I m vital in New England. Miller
makes clever use of the language here, in order to present quite a heroic view of

Garner Gun Control
When creating new policy on gun control, it is important to think about what rights individuals
are entitled to. Garner suggests (2016) Some political theorists would also want to say that our
freedom can be limited by a lack of rationality or morality. Only rational or moral behavior, then,
can be truly free (p. 95, ch.4 Freedom and Justice). For example, a person whom is mentally
disable and/or seen a dangerous to other would not promote moral or rational behavior: therefore,
their freedoms could be limited. This limitation could be seen by seizing their firearms to ensure
they do not cause harm to other individuals or the community. The seizure of weapons would be
their freedoms being taken away because they were not promoting morality

In some manner, it would be strenuous to realize all of the goals, such as removing distortions to
international trade and promoting technological innovation and the transfer and dissemination of

in article 7 of the TRIPS Agreement. Article 7 stipulates: protection and enforcement of intellectual

Except for the machinery industry, there was little difference regarding willingness to transfer
technology in other industries. Policy transparency, quality of human capital, and market size are
very important factors of FDI, while the degree of IPR protection is only one of them. Failure to
work a patent failure to work a patent might be discussed under the context of article 7 of the TRIPS
Agreement, as Professor Gervais indicates. A number of supporters of the local working
requirement argue if the patentee would be entitled to a territorial legal monopoly, she should to
contribute to the development of the industry in that territory as an act of reciprocity. Nonetheless,
K. McCabe explains the reason why defining the working requirement would be a burden for
transnational companies. If comprehensively every country requires local working as one of the
requirements for granting a patent, then exportation to a new foreign market means to establish a
manufacturing facility in the country. Defining local working as a requirement therefore constitutes
an unnecessary burden for a foreign patentee to build manufacturing facilities in all the signatories
of TRIPS who have legislation as such. For this reason, the grounds for granting compulsory
licenses should be limited to countries with a lower standard of technology

Measles disease: Epidemiology
Measles is a very infectious viral disease caused by the measles virus, and it is most common in
children. Its main features include maculopapular rash, fever (more than 400 C), cough, coryza,

Essay on Modern and Post-Modernism Architecture
There is often some confusion when people start talking about the post modernism and modernism
in architecture in terms of their philosophical terminology differences. Modern architecture is
known for its minimalism (Linder, 2004); buildings were functional and economical rather than
comfortable and beautifully decorated. The post modernismarchitecture, however, is called a neo
eclectic, significantly assuming the role of a regeneration of period styles for designing houses,
and a never ending variety of forms and characteristics, asymmetrical designs for commercial
buildings (Fullerton Heritage, 2008). An example of these two polar opposites, Less is more made

Although, most post modernist architects had been associated with modern architects in terms of
training during the twentieth century, they refused most their teachers ideas. In addition, today s
architects cannot deny the modern architecture ways of designing any building. Their design, for
instance, has many philosophical meaning such as constructional, environmental, sociological,
commercial and metaphorical meaning. The main difference between these two schools is that the
architects point of view to any design as a means of communication (Chan, 1997). Modern
architecture, for example, focus on the aesthetics of architectural language, while post modernity
adjust in constant effort to achieve what is more than unity and focus on the traditional concepts,
therefore both schools are in competition with each other. Second basic principle of modern school
is the production beauty by basic technology (Chan, 1997), and this led to a contradiction on the
post modernism architects being attempted to use primitive technology. Their particular case is to
access and change the impact of the traditional architecture through all people. Therefore, to achieve
this goal they have addressed the issues of beauty and technology within the general concept of the
design. Despite different thoughts on the features of post modernism definition, it is clearly seen
that people ,who are interested in beauties, are

The health care system must change to improve our nation s health and takes strong steps to
address the unsustainable growth of health care costs in America. We still have a long way to go
before our health system become effective. We still have population that do not have insurance,
have difficulties accessing their health care, or their needs are not met within the healthcare system.
It is an investment in prevention and wellness and increasing access to primary care physician.
Here are four key reasons why we need health care reform (Whelan Russell, 2010): We need to
address adverse health industry practices. Stopping discriminatory health insurance industry
practices. It will also stop insurance companies from charging people more because of these
conditions and prevent them from dropping your coverage when you get sick. Requiring more
transparency and accountability. Make the insurance companies more accountable by requiring
federal oversight of premium increases and public disclosure of the amounts they spend on
administrative expenses. Eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse. Rein in waste, fraud, and abuse by
imposing tough new requirements to identify high risk providers who have defrauded the American
taxpayers and identify where there are conflicts of interest. Provide better health insurance coverage

Essay on Truett Cathy
Executive Summary As we enter the 21st century, the world is full of opportunities for
entrepreneurs. The opportunity is what many entrepreneurs chase after. Just the idea of starting a
business excited them. Entrepreneurs are people who have characteristics of a high need for
achievement, a willingness to take moderate risk, strong self confidence, and a passion for the
business. We all question what is the best age for getting started. There is really no simple answer
to that question. Most businesses require some background knowledge. A certain amount of time is
usually required to gain the education, experience, and financial resources of starting a business.
According to the textbook Small Business Management by Longenecker,... Show more content on

He was named Samuel after a friend of his parents, and also named Truett after, George W.
Truett, a pastor of First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. His father, Joseph Benjamin, was an
insurance salesman for Life and Casualty Company. Joseph collected on life and accidental
death policies that yielded sometimes only nickels and dimes. Even though Cathy s father was a
hard worker, he could not make an adequate living for his large family. Often, he would bring
home chicken, hams, and other goods from policyholders who were too poor to pay their
premiums in cash. Joseph verbally abused his wife. He relied heavily on the older children to
take care of him. Truett s mother, Lilla Kimbell Cathy, ran a boarding house to help support the
family. She worked like a slave, keeping house and cooking for her seven children and a
houseful of boarders (Cathy, p.36 37). nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Truett Cathy had four
sisters and two brothers named Esther, Agnes, Myrtle, Horace, Glayds, and Ben. He was the
sixth child in the family. Selling Coke as a Child nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;Cathy developed
his flair for business early in life. As a boy he exhibited no unusual talents except a sharp business
sense. Growing up in a boarding house introduced Truett Cathy to hard work and taught him the
value of diligent labor. He learned to shuck corns, shell peas, wash dirty dishes, set the tables, shop
for his mother at the grocery store, and flip eggs

American Schools
American Schools in Crisis American schools have a big problem on their hands and that would
be keeping kids in the classroom. Year after year students are failing to graduate and deciding to
drop out of school. The reasons for this are far and in between, but actions need to be taken so that
this no longer happens. Staying in schoolis the only way to success unless you are extremely lucky.
Higher levels of educationcan only help you in your future. As little fun as school is students need
to fight their way through because there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That shining light is a
bright future with success in anything you want. The dropout rates over the years have seen little
or no movement in numbers. Students are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though these are harder situations there can still be action taken. Such action could be
implementing learning programs in these schools. For example, in these schools they can have
special programs for underachieving students. They can have classes dedicated to just students
that have difficulty learning. In these classes they would have teachers that work at a slower
pace so that they all can understand. They can also have AP classes to help students earn some
credits for college. Also another big problem in these types of schools is attendance. Many kids
would much rather stay home or on the streets getting into trouble. But if they reward these
students for attending class much more of them would decide to come to, school. Even if they are
only getting a few points here and there, they would show up. The goal of teachers should be to
help students pass and want to come to school not just barely squeeze. Making changes in these
lower level high schools will help the improvement of these very poor graduation rates. Another
thing to help students graduate is to balance out the schools systems. These days there are high
schools that only accept well educated students. There is no problem in this; however they should
not accept students so easily. If all the smart students attend these private schools then all of the less
smart kids will be forced to attend worse institutions. Granted, not all smart students can afford to
attend these private

  • 4. The Understanding Of Reading Comprehension Abstract Reading is the process of constructing meaning through the self motivated interaction among the reader s knowledge and the material proposed by the written language and the context of the reading situation. The understanding of reading comprehension is to teach reading to students acquire reading skills to become independent learners. The strategies of teaching will be used to help students achieve their reading goals. In areas such as mathematics, developing teacher content knowledge has been a major concern because it is generally accepted that teachers who know these subjects are better able to teach them. As teachers, we need to research strategies that can be used to teach students how to read in every content area. Our focus in this literature review will be on mathematics and how teachers can find different strategies and activities to use to help students learn to read and also to use prior knowledge as they implement these strategies. Keywords: Knowledge Content, comprehension, mathematics Introduction Reading is a natural life skill, and students must be able to read in order to function in society. Even in our everyday responsibilities such as working, grocery shopping, driving, banking, and reading the newspaper, we are required to do some sort of reading. One of the ways in which teachers can help students improve their reading skills is through strategy instruction (Duke Pearson, 2002). Strategy instruction involves teaching ... • 5. The Critique Of Hester Prynne In On The Scarlet Letter Throughout D.H. Lawrence s critique, On the Scarlet Letter, Lawrence emphasizes the idea that Hester Prynne is condemned by today s society, as well as the late Puritan society. He further criticizes her actions, willing to depict her to be a demon more than a simple sinner. D.H. Lawrence evaluates Hester Prynnes flaws by using succinct diction, sarcasm, and biblical allusions. By utilizing succinct diction, D.H. Lawrence ridicules Hester in order to expose the severity her sin. Lawrence simultaneously attacks Hester Prynne s character in a figurative manner as he refers to her as [an] Adulteress. Alpha. Abel, Adam. A (Lawrence). In a figurative sense, Lawrence condenses his words in order to shoot Hester down with characteristics that best describe her. He exposes her flaws through a series of attacks regarding her most prominent qualities: that she is an adulteress; that she is a sinner who precedes the future generations; and that her sin is equal to that of Adam s original sin. It is through the words that dignify the absolute worst of sinning in which Lawrence s negative outlook on Hester is revealed. Succinct diction that symbolize and refer to sin uncover Hester s withdrawal from attaining the moral perfection that Puritans desire. Lawrence considers Hester s mortal sin as a reason that her life becomes a failure, that [her life] becomes a farce (Lawrence). • 6. How Community Nursing Can Potentially Address Them According to one recent study, more than 1.5 million people experience homelessness in the United States every year (Doran, 2013, p. 355). Individuals of all ages and from all walks of life face homelessness today. While already facing this one adversity, they also face inadequate health care in a variety of ways. They face specific healthproblems in higher concentrations than other populations, including mental health disorders and substance abuse (Harkness, 2012). Many also face chronic health conditions such as diabetes or hypertension that go untreated (Harkness, 2012). In addition, access to health care is a barrier with which this population struggles. Healthy People 2020 includes goals to improve access to comprehensive, quality health care services and improve health related quality of life and well being for all individuals (2020 Topics and Objectives, 2010). This paper reviews these goals in light of the homeless population and explores how community nursing can potentially address them. The goal to improve access to health care services is important in the homeless population. The homeless often lack the ability to pay for health services. Many homeless remain uninsured or underinsured (Parker, 2013). Without insurance, the homeless of the United States have little to no access to preventative services (Parker, 2013). Instead, they rely on emergency departments for treatment (Doran, 2013). This occurs for many reasons. First, it is one of the only places ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Regional Trade Arrangements Of Africa And Their Motives Essay 2.Regional Trade Arrangements in Africa and Their Motives Regionalism has become one of the buzz words in international trade diplomacy nowadays. There is almost no country in the world which does not have membership in one or two regional economic integrations, and the coverage and scope of these arrangements have grown more than ever before. Different authors have used different approaches to define the concept of regional integration. Therefore, it is important to discuss the definitions of economic integration according to the most prominent authors in the field of regional integration before taking on the theoretical and empirical literatures of the concept. One of the widely accepted definitions of economic integration is that of Balassa (1961), which is defined as the abolition of discrimination within an area . Another very important definition of economic integration relevant to developing countries is that of Kahnert, P. Richards, Stoutjesdijk, and Thomopoulos (1969). According to these authors, economic integration is the process of progressive removal of trade discriminations which occur at national borders . Furthermore, Machlup (1977) defines economic integration as a process of merging separate economies into a larger economic region with the objective of realizing the efficient utilization of all potential opportunities of the division of labor. • 8. Narrative Essay On Waiting On God Dreaming with God is a beautiful gift from Him, and although questions filled my limited mind, my capacity to comprehend, I owe everything to the Lord whose grace and love abundantly flows. A series of parabolic dreams and clear visions flooded my sleep nights, and what the Lord apparently conveyed has created a mixed feeling of excitement and confusion. Inquisitiveness to understand the mysteries of the night parables led me to dig deeper into His word. But I couldn t seem to weave the thread together the way it should a sizeable amount of thread was missing. Prayers for help and wisdom became my expressions and it was in this season of waiting that I have learned a valuable lesson: Waiting on God is not a passive move we have to deliberately seek His Word with an attitude of meekness and rely on the Spirit of God to illuminate hidden things. One specific dream has baffled me for a long time. Looking at these two kinds of trees in the garden that were parallel to each other has created curiosity within. The tree on the left was radiantly shining, abundantly flourishing with green foliage and strong branches, which reflect goodness and vitality. The other tree on the right was the exact opposite, dead and wilted, and not one leaf on the branches remains. While gazing on these two trees, trying to analyze what I was seeing, I heard a voice that said the word nation . The sound of this voice woke me up mystified. Culturally, the Women s Rights movement was advancing as more and more women fought against the Cult of Domesticity. Women entered the man s sphere and began to work in factories. The South considered agriculture, especially the production of cotton, to be the crux of their economy. The South was producing half of the world s cotton. Sprawling estates and plantations with hundreds of slaves running them dotted the southern region. Eli Whitney s cotton gin made cotton production easier, faster, and it revived the industry once again. Soon, tons of cotton was being traded in foreign countries and in the North. Cotton was a fast cash business, but it ruined the soil, leaving the plantation owners to constantly be looking for new land. In little to no time, the South had become a one crop economy with everything becoming dependent on cotton sales, which were dependent on other factors such as demand for cotton goods. One of the most lucrative, horrifying, and large businesses was the slave trade. Many Southern whites considered slavery a necessity for their economy. The South was able to produce these enormous amounts of cotton because of the manual labor provided by slaves. In the beginning, during the era of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, slavery was considered a necessary evil. • 12. The s Perspective On Alcohol Abuse Bruffee s Perspective on Alcohol Abuse Bruffee was unsuccessful in grabbing my attention because his persuasive ways were weak and ineffective. I find his persuasiveness to be imprecise with no correlation between binge drinking and loneliness. For instance, his claims are supported based on personal experiences and personal observations such as students having difficulty making a new group of friends, being desperate to belong and creating an academic background. Unlike Weschler, Bruffee does not use scientific studies, real examples and realistic solutions to adequately connect binge drinkers and introverts; therefore, Bruffee is less successful because he failed to support many of his claims, and his conclusion is incomplete. First of all, there is some credibility in his article trying to capture the reader interest in why binge drinkingis an issue on college campuses, in which he provides statistic reports with cause and effect. However, credibility gets lost when he uses himself as an example of why students join fraternities. Bruffee says that one of the reasons he joined was because he felt desperate to belong. In addition, Bruffee also implies that Fitting in motivates freshmen students to join fraternities and sororities which leads them to binge drinking. In my own perspective, his claims are lacking support and based on assumptions of his own experience that comes off as vague and inaccurate; most of the students would not join a fraternity just because ... It is on television, in the films we watch, all over our social media accounts, and even plastered on the walls of locations that we visit every day. Advertising is meant to market a product or service to a consumer, utilizing mostly tactics of persuasionto do so. Because advertisingis so continually present, companies must be more innovative than ever with their persuasive methods. Depending on the product or service, these methods vary but some of the popular ones include appealing to the internal attitudes of the consumer by using strategic and repetitive methods for the delivery of the message to appeal to the target audience. Virtually all industries do this, though a unique example of persuasion in advertising is found in the medical and health industries; the United States is one of the few countries that allows direct to consumer advertising for pharmaceuticals. The healthcare industry has always had the ability to advertise but with the new medical advertising, its budget for marketing has exploded as well. The Food and Drug Administration, also commonly referred to as the FDA, previously banned direct to consumer advertising for drug companies, but the restriction was lifted in 1997 and a new age of medical advertising was born. Advantages Of Traditional Market Research Methods Lisel Douglas Argumentative Essay 2014 11 04 (Title) There is no doubt that traditional market research methods have proven themselves to be valuable in helping businesses to determine the next steps in, and governmental organizations study the population over which it governs. Traditional market research methods such as surveys in person, mail, telephone, and now, online, have proven to be reliable means of gathering information about a market. Qualitative methods, like focus groups, and in depth interviews have also been accepted as reliable means for collecting a certain kind of information about a market. However, according to the AAPOR, we are entering a new era, where traditional survey research may play a less dominant role. Businesses and organizations may look more to Big Data and social media research for answers to their questions. This paper is not a discussion of the merits of traditional methods vs. newer methods, from an either/or perspective. The intention is to explain why social media as a potentially reliable market research method, should not be dismissed due perceived pitfalls. There are many areas of concern, but this paper will address only three: measurement challenges, wrong answers, and quality. The AAPOR states that, the reasons to consider social media in public opinion and survey research are no different than those of any alternative method as essentially the ultimate concern of market research is answering research questions, and ... • 19. The Resistance Of Bacteria And Antibiotics The resistance of bacteria to antibiotics is becoming a grave and global medical problem. This is because whenever antibiotics are taken the development of resistance is a given consequence; bacteria adapt to changing environmental conditions through the continuous process of evolution. The main issue with antibiotics is not whether but when antibiotic resistancewill occur. This resistance is caused by the lack of new antibiotics available and continuing over prescription of antibiotics. Any bacteria that acquire resistance alleles, by either random mutation or genetic exchange with other bacteria, have the capability to resist multiple antibiotics. Therefore, the process of bacteria gaining multiple resistance attributes over time gives bacteria the ability to become resistant to many different families of antibiotics. Nosocomial infections are, in particular, an progressively prevalent problem. This is because weakened immune systems of hospital patients make them particularly vulnerable to infection. E. coli is frequent cause of infection, especially in the urinary tract. This means patients catheters could easily be at risk to a resistant strand of E.coli. In the US alone, the overall cost for medical intervention of nosocomial urinary tract infections is staggering, with approximately $424 million to $451 million spent annually in the United States to manage these infections (source). Saul, being a devout Judaizer, would stop at nothing to prevent the growth of the New Testament Church. Persecuting and killing Christians were Saul s tactics in stopping the church, but while on the road to Damascus (Acts 9), Saul unexpectedly encounters the Risen Lord. Following Saul s encounter with Jesus, the Bible proceeds to record one of the most dramatic stories of conversion throughout church history, and while Paul s conversion story is indeed dramatic, in the lives of many Christians, conversion is a more gradual process (Carlin, 2016). Regardless of whether or not conversion is sudden or gradual, conversion is created totally by the action of God and is enacted upon by human beings (Carlin, 2016, p. 293). Furthermore, conversion is personal and communal, private and public, and both passive and active (Carlin, 2016, p. 293). Likewise, conversion can be characterized as a retreat from the world and is a source of empowerment to go into the world and confront (Carlin, 2016, p. 293). Finally, conversion is much of an event as it is a gradual process, but in the end, conversion leaves a person transformed (Carlin, 2016, p. 293). Hence, the signs that an individual has converted biblically is more than just reading the Bible, praying, and going to church. Its invention was to combat the The Great Depression . It was invented along with welfare to help America s elderly, disabled, and unemployed. How Social Security functioned was a part of the workers check would be deducted and given to the elderly as Social Security at that present time. Rain barrels are a great way to capitalize on this free source of water. Reasonably priced and easy to install, gardeners are advised to take a look at utilizing rain barrels. Rainwater collection for use during dry spells is not new technology; rainwater has been being collected for over 2,000 years. This ancient technology has found new life among today s green gardeners. Costs of municipal water are rising and drought restrictions now face many areas of the United States. While the average American may not be inclined to install a large cistern in their yard, rain barrels provide a reasonably priced and easily installed option that produces a nice supplement to traditional water sources. Water is a much valued and often taken for granted natural resource. Water is essential to life, human, critter, plant and other. Many Americans turn on the tap, leave it running for whatever their intended purpose, such as brushing one s teeth, and never give a thought to the big picture of water shortages around the world. Often gardeners turn on their sprinklers with not much thought beyond their knowledge that their plants need a thorough soaking. It may seem to some that water is in abundance. The Presentation of Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller Willy Loman is presented as both a tragic hero and an unconscious victim in Death of a Salesman . Death of a Salesman is very much based upon the American Dream, and whether we are slaves or conquerors of this dream. This is an idea that the playwright Arthur Miller has very passionately pursued both through Willy s own eyes, and through his interaction with the different characters in the play. Firstly, the definitions of a hero and a victim very much influence the way that Willy is viewed by the audience. Miller has not used the play to suggest that Willy Loman is an ordinary hero, but more a tragic hero. A tragic hero,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the contrary, we are not immediately introduced to this delusional, flaky character. Miller balances out the audience s perception of Willy towards the end of the act where the more vulnerable side of Willy is illustrated, with the use of his behaviour and the response of others to his attitude. An example of this would be Linda diligently agreeing with Willy s strange statements. One of Willy s traits which qualify him as a hero is his eternal sacrifice, and the way that he throws everything into the balance in order to secure his rightful place in society, and to live the American Dream. These sacrifices are perfectly illustrated by the long distance that Willy travels in order to sell his stock. Nonetheless, K. McCabe explains the reason why defining the working requirement would be a burden for transnational companies. If comprehensively every country requires local working as one of the requirements for granting a patent, then exportation to a new foreign market means to establish a manufacturing facility in the country. Defining local working as a requirement therefore constitutes an unnecessary burden for a foreign patentee to build manufacturing facilities in all the signatories of TRIPS who have legislation as such.
