A Speech For Running For A Texas House Of Representative
SHAKYA 4
1 Nisha Shakya Professor, S. Sharifian GOVT. 1 2306 71003 11/08/2017
As I am running for a Texas House of Representative, the agendas that I have set was to consider
social issues such as terrorism, health or mental sufferings and environmental degradation. My
reach of contribution to the society and campaign endorsement through a celebrity figure adds up to
a positive result. If my campaign becomes successful and I get elected, then the three committees
that I would serve would be Criminal Jurisprudence, Human Services, and Environmental
Regulation.
To begin with, the Criminal Jurisprudence functions as a committee that shall have nine members.
It is applicable in legal decisions like penalties, criminal law, probation, revision ... Show more

Since, there are limited amounts of officials in a particular committee, likely thoughts during a
meeting would draw more attention in a certain interest group.
The voter groups are the one who has the highest expectation towards their elected member. It is
first important to analyze the problems in a community to provide service for the voters. Anyone
could be a victim of the agenda that I got elected for, i.e. crimes, health and environmental
suffrage. The constituent services that I would do for the voters is by adhering to make the
surrounding a safer area or strict security, confirming insured people, and creating a green act
movement to save our atmosphere from any kind of degradation. In addition, I would also
specifically focus on high profile cases like crimes so that the voters would be benefited with all
the basic needs to sustain as a secure human being.
About creating a homestyle , I would prefer something that would influence my voters for
reelection and, also build a trust in them by implementing the ideas presented before the election. It
often happens when the elected leader fails to accomplish their goals which makes their voters to
distrust the political leaders. So, I would focus my district s agenda very strictly by setting up a
town meeting, planning in every perspective and mainly implementing the discussed issues. It is
very important to be physically available in the area of need, providing

How Free Government Grants Loans Are Available For People...
Free government grants loans are available for people who are in real need of money to fulfill
their needs. The recent economic recession has left most of the people in financial crisis and
whether it is business or house repair work, they need financial help to get these needs
accomplished. Many people either somehow manage with the deficits or look for some
financial help. Nearly everyone out of these is not in a position to repay the loans and so they
hesitate to go for those options. There are various government grants available for different
needs and those who are aware of this opportunity, they apply and try to get it. It is not easy to
get the government grant money and you need lot of preparation and make sure your timing is
accurate. The main reason behind this is that most of the grants are on first come first serve
basis so as soon as you find that the grants suitable for your needs are available, you should apply
for them. Apart from this there are funds available through some private and non profit
organizations also which people can make use of. Free government grants loans are of great help
in this financially crucial situation. People are applying for it and the panel that is appointed to
look after the sanctioning of the grant application, makes sure that the money is provided to real
needy people. Whether you need money for the fulfillment of your business need or personal use,
you need to find out the right grants and then after qualifying for them,

Nietzsche s Morals
In 1887, philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche had written a collection of essays entitled The
Genealogy of Morals. Nietzsche ideas was an inscribed assessment based upon ethical principles.
Nietzsche analyzes the connections and significance of the contrasting moral concepts in a
distinctive section where he elaborates on the good and the bad as well as the good and evil, by
expressing his thoughts on slave moralitythat was created by the Jews.
In the beginning, Nietzsche states that the priest is worthless and that they learn to hate. The priest
hatred is powerful that it causes them to be destructive and it is known throughout history.
Nietzsche compares the Jews to the priest caste who were the most hated in human history. The
Jews somehow managed to reverse the moral assessments associating themselves as good but, the
powerful nobles will be known as evil and damned for eternity. However, Nietzsche said, It was the
Jews who started the slave revolt in morals (445)
In the following section, Nietzsche explains that the reassessment of values effected by the Jews
was occurring and that they were not noticeable. One of their achievements was the development of
the religious teachings Christianity. He states that the Christian love violated the Jewish hatred and
that the representation of Jesus and his crucifixion was the persuasion of the moral code. The
embodiment and crucifixion of Jesus showed that annulment of the moral code, was once good
became evil and what

Roma Culture Research Paper
Abstract
This paper explore the Roma culture with focus on women s health practices. Roma also referred
to as Rom, Rroma, Romani and gypsies are people traveled across the Middle East and Europe,
with some later settling in the United States. Known for their nomadic lifestyle, they are often
marginalized and discriminated against. Roma have strong cultural beliefs with many focusing on
the importance of family and purity. Many aspects of pregnancy are considered impure and
shameful. Many women do not have appropriate prenatal care. The lack of appropriate care
coupled with unhealthy lifestyle choices associated with the Roma can lead to a myriad of
pregnancy complications. The Roma culture is very specific and it is important to provide culturally
competent care. This paper helps focus on aspects to provide better care for this unique culture.

Birth, Nursing, Culture Roma Cultural Perspective of Women s Health
Introduction and Overview
The Roma people are originally from India migrated across the Middle East and Europe in the 15th
and 16th century(Edden, Hughes, McCormack Prendergast, 2011). Roma are also known as
Romani, Rom, Gypsies and Rroma. Roma people came to the United States around the end of the

Pregnancy is considered an unclean time during a woman s life because of the belief that the
lower half of the body is shameful and source of pollution. Prenatal care is neglected, and women
learn from other women in their camp about pregnancy and childbirth. Mothers are generally young
and look up to the older women for support and education. Pregnant women must not prepare food

Good And Evil In The Works Of Hawthorne And Poe
The works of Hawthorne and Poe have a lot of similarities such as being part of the dark
romanticism genre. Howthorne s tales that includes the Twice Told Tales and the Mosses from an
Old Manse are cautionary which describes the dark side of human qualities that includes guilt, sin
and evil while Poe s tale have themes associated with death and its other effects such as signs,
decomposition, premature burial reanimation and mourning which are found the Tell Tale Heart, the
Bell and the Black Cat.
Reading their unfamiliar works gave me the conclusion that they are somehow expressing their
experience and their observation on the set up of humanity and how do people deal with evil and
sin? Of the two writers, I would say that the writings of

The Unethical Behavior of Biegler and McCarthy in Anatomy...
After reviewing the two scenes from an Anatomy of a Murder and the Maryland Rules of
Professional Conduct, it s clear that Biegler and McCarthy behaved unethically; because he
disclosed client information without consent and he indirectly imposed what defense Lieutenant
Manion should plea. In the first scene, Biegler and McCarthy are discussing Biegler s first visit
with Mr. Manion and whether or not he was going to take the case; McCarthy also proposes
Biegler guide Mr.Manion into a defense. In the second scene, Biegler meets with Mr.Manion for
the second time and he indirectly guides him into a plea of insanity. In each of these scenes, several
Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct were violated such as: Maryland Rule 16 812 (1.6) (a),
Maryland Rule 16 812 (1.6) (5) (b), Maryland Rule 16 812 (8.4) (a), and Maryland Rule 16 812
(8.4) (c).
Based on Biegler s background as a lawyer, he should have known the rules about disclosing and
discussing information about a client s case. In the first scene between Biegler and McCarthy,
information about the representation of Lieutenant Manion was discussed and McCarthy
suggested that Biegler give Mr. Manion options for a defense. Biegler told McCarthy that he did
not coach Mr. Manion into a fake story and he gave his opinion of Mr.Manions character as being
insolent and hostile; hence the reason why he felt he was not fit to take the case. This discussion
between Biegler and McCarthy violated the Maryland Rules of Professional

Role of Chinese History on People’s Imagination
As great philosopher George Santayana once said, Those who cannot remember the past are
condemned to repeat it. History plays a critical role in understanding why the present is the way
it is, and it allows us to make conscious decisions about the future. By examining and analyzing
historical events, we are able to dive into the past in order to gain insight on direction to the
future. One must be able to learn about the past, learn about mistakes and problems, in order to
move forward. In class, we had dove into the distinction between analyzing historical context.
We discussed how gigantic history takes a precedent model and is easily understood as a
trajectory of historical events. One can compare and contrast how courses were taken by the
active role of nations, their governments and revolutions, and how society has been molded to fit
specific ideologies. On the contrary, we also discussed the opposite of gigantic history, which
would be referred to as minuscule history. It posits that history is more of a collection of ideas
taken from personal experiences of people that are brought together to explain significant historical
events. Building a foundational historical pivot point from which to move is crucial to how China
perceived itself in becoming one of the world s global leading countries today. Role of Chinese
history on people s imagination of their country and themselves: China has had a profound
influence by western powers during the imperialist conquests

Compare And Contrast Apple Is A Successful And A Less...
This report aimed to make comparison between a successful and a less successful brand
portfolio. I have chosen Apple as a successful brand and Nokia as a less successful brand. Apple
is a renowned brand name all over the world, and the products of Apple are so popular among the
electronics lovers. Consumers recognize the Apple brandas a symbol of trust as well as reliability.
Apple is a U.S based company, and now by revenue it is the largest information technology
company in the world which is approximately 233 billion. In 1976, the company was established
by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. On the other hand, the brand name of Nokia has
lost its credibility recently. Nokia is a Finnish multinational information technology company.

The Odyssey Conniving Calypso
Conniving Calypso
I had lived on my luxurious island for many years. My island is filled with life and colorful
blossoms. With all the plants and beauty, the only people on my island are young women.
Everyday, my beautiful, young maids and I awaited the arrival of a man or woman lost at sea. For
years we waited, no person ever washing upon our shore. All we longed was a new friend, or man
to get lost at sea and wash up on our island for us to care for and love.
When a stranger showed up on my island after swimming in the ocean, I kindly took him in. No
one ever visits my wondrous island, and no one ever leaves my island. He told me of how his men
killed Helios forbidden cattle and Zeus destroyed his ship as a punishment for this forbidden act.
He told me that he had been swimming for days, his ship destroyed and all his loyal men killed. I
began to care for him as a mother cares for their child, bathing them in a warm tub of water,
feeding them warm soup made in the kitchen and putting them to sleep in a warm, comforting bed,
as soft as a pillow that swallows them when they sleep. I gave him everything he ... Show more

raft and I watch in horror as he is whisked into the sea. I stare in awe as a sea nymph saves the
great Odysseus with a powerful veil and he washes ashore only to be saved by another women.
A beautiful, women from the palace. I see this other women, and in fury I leave because I know
he no longer will remember our great times on my island, but he will now create new memories as

Battle Comparison Beowulf is a story about the quests and battles that the main character, Beowulf,
endures. Though he faces many challenges, he is able to overcome them because of his
superhuman strength and braveness. During the story, Beowulf fights three beasts: Grendel,
Grendel s Mother, and a Dragon. With the strength of 30 men in each hand grip, magical weapons,
and the support of Wiglaf, his right hand man, Beowulf is able to defeat all three beasts, but
suffers a fatal blow in his last battle against the Dragon. In the first of Beowulf s three battles, he

She retaliates by attacking the city, just as Grendel did before he was defeated. Beowulf,
realizing this was going to be a similar beast to Grendel, was going to have to fight her alone.
This time, Beowulf is going to go on the offensive and attack Grendel s mother in her lair
underneath the lake. Grasping a breath of air, Beowulf dives into the lake and spends a day
swimming to the lair. Upon his arrival, Beowulf is immediately attacked by Grendel s mother
but his armor protects him. He is pulled further into the lair and realizes that she is much
tougher than Grendel was and that he won t be able to defeat her with his bare hands. He spots a
sword in the lair and grabs it. In one big swing, Beowulf severs her head, and she falls to the
ground. Another victory for Beowulf and the people of Heorot. Beowulf then spots Grendel s
body on the ground and in a rage, severs his head too. Beowulf then returns to Heorot and is
crowned the ruler of the city and the Danes. Shortly after the defeat of Grendel s mother, a 50
foot dragon began attacking the city of Heorot. The dragon flew all over the land, burning and
destroying everything, because someone stole his golden cup. The city of Heorot was almost
completely destroyed and Beowulf yet again, realizes that he is going to have to step up and take
down this beast. Beowulf does exactly that and says he will be taking down this dragon, but he is

In the book Buffalo Jones Forty Years of Adventure written by Charles Jones, Jones describes the
Plain Indians as, The most tenacious of life than any race I have ever encountered. The Plain
Natives consisting primarily of Blackfoot, Arapaho, Cheyenne, Crow, Kiowa, Lakota, saw the
bison a sacred animal because it provided almost everything they needed to survive. A good
bison kill would weigh about 2,000 pounds, 800 pounds of which was good to eat. The natives
could use the bladder and stomach to store water and keep meet fresh, the hides were used as
cover for teepees and the various bones as weapons. The Plain Natives believed that the bison
were created by the Great Spirit for the soul purpose of keeping their tribes alive, making them
cherish the bison as a literal life line. In Jones s book, Jones depicts his encounter with Chief Big
Indian of the Cheyenne tribe. In this way when Jones shows Chief Big Indian where a herd of
bison was, Chief Big Indian was ecstatic with excitement, and signaled the rest of his hunters that
he had found a herd. Within half an hour, 100 Indians came from miles away to the signaled spot.
Every able bodied man from the tribe was out hunting for bison. This shows how important the
bison were for the natives. When a single herd of bison was sighted it was so important that every
man in the tribe would leave their wives and children at risk to hunt down the herd. During the mid

Developing an Analytical Approach to Industrial Relations...
Using theoretical frameworks outlined in the lecture given in week 3, explain to Ms CCCCC the
different ways in which the employment relationship can be conceptualised Dear Ms CCCCC,
firstly we want to define what industrial relations is. An industrial relations is a policy that
approaches the employees, and acts as a reference for the management, where the actions that
underlies the industrial relations is set by a formal authority in the organisation (Brewster, Gill,
Richbell, 1981). The legislation of industrial relations, Fair Work Act 2009 is important, as it has a
goal to create fairness with obligations and rights between an employer and employee. Any changes
or development in the legislation will have obvious impact on the... Show more content on

Each has their own objectives and leaders, with their own legal loyalties. There are two important
and major groups within pluralism, trade union and the management. The trade union are handling
in the best interest of the employees, and is therefore fundamental. Thereby, we have Radical or
Marxist, where the industrial relations are looked at as a society of capitalism. The management
has their own interest compared to the employees, and therefore conflict between an employer and
employee is inevitable. They are also against HRM, as they look at it as manipulative of the
workers. Trade unions is a reaction and exploitation to the management, and working towards a
radical change in the society. Therefore Ms CCCC it is important to accept and respect that the
employment relationship is interdependent, a psychological contract Rousseau (1990), which
means that the contract is mutual, and there has to be cooperation on both of the sides. I would say,
to acctually conceptualise the employment relationship, I would recommend to take actions and
decisions that can create trust between your relationship. There will be positive impact when there
are higher level of trust in an organisation, and increases loyalty. I would also say that employer
branding and segmentation is important, where it can make the work for the employer more
personalised, and the effort to understand, negotiate and acctually do the work more efficiently
increases.

Hiding One s Identity Is Nothing New
Hiding one s identity Is nothing new. Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay authored
The Federalist Papers in 1787 under pseudonym Publius. The ability to communicate anonymously
is viewed as part of our basic right to free speech . With the advent of computers and ease of access
to the internet, becoming anonymous as never been easier, and is far more reaching than the
colonial newspapers of 1787. For some this ease at which we can communicate anonymous is cause
for concern. Although we are no longer hiding our identities to promote the ratification of the
Constitution, being anonymous still plays a large role in our society. Online anonymity grants
anyone with an internet connection an unbiased voice, regardless of gender, race, or wealth.
Without this freedom to online anonymity many people would not feel free to express themselves
or release sensitive information about themselves or about corruption, in the case of
whistleblowing. Anonymity can also be used as a security measure and prevent unauthorized
mining of personal information. Although multiple ethical framework will be used and compared,
using a consequence based framework will be the main examining point throughout. The use of the
term anonymous can be confusing from an online perspective. When speaking of anonymity in
such a sense it is not related to the degree of traceability, but to the lack of aspects such as image,
voice, and situation in the online social environment . Those against online

The Success Of The Pizza Industry

and catapulted Dominos to the leading organization in the business. However, after many years
of success, the pizza industry started to evolve and Dominos found itself facing declining sales
numbers, high employee turnover, and poor consumer ratings in taste tests. If the company were
going to survive it had to re evaluate its long standing value proposition, revamp its food, and
also restructure its HR strategies. All of which were done successfully, but this paper will focus

problem Dominos faced, like many fast food chains, was rampant employee turnover. Dominos
turnover rate was 158 percent annually. In other words, for every employee hired during a year

teenage are becoming crazy for the buzz media even so middle aged alongside near and above
sixty aged people are also athirst for this in our country. This scenario is taken a gander not only
in Bangladesh but also in all over the world. According to the worldwide ranking of popularity,
social networking sites are Facebook, twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube, My Space,
Whatsapp and so forth respectively. Needless to say that Facebook is the most ever trendy
social network in Bangladesh. Online revealed statistics of Internet Live Stats , cited by World
Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and World Wide Web Foundation as of July 1, 2016, there are
21,439,070 Internet users in Bangladesh which is 13.2 % (penetration) share of Bangladeshi
population and 0.6 % share of World Internet Users. Whereas indicated by Bangladesh
Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) an overwhelming 80 percent internet
users of Bangladesh are on social networking website i.e. Facebook. Accordingly a report published
by the national Bengali daily citing Socialbakers, a social media analytic, the ratio of age group of
Facebook users in Bangladesh are 73% of 13 25 age, 20% of 26 34 age, 5% of 35 45 age 2% above

DISCUSSION In the present study a total of 270 personnel screened for microorganisms and
MRSA carriage. From these personnel 91(33.7%) Dentists, 89(32.9%) Nursing staff and
90(33.3%) were patients. Among 270 DHCPs screened, thirty were positive for MRSA either in
nose or hands giving a carriage rate of 11.1%. The proportion of personnel with nasal carriage of
MRSA was higher (14.7%) than hand carriage (9.3%) this result agreed with that of Kalyani et al.
(2012) where personnel carriage of nasal isolates were higher than hands carriage rate. In the
present study, we found a higher proportion of MRSA hand carriage among the dental nurses

Furthermore, the premium rate you are quoted at 35 will be the premium you will pay when you
are 65! Unless of course, you have purchased a policy that is designed to be paid up over a period
of years. This is a great benefit. You can pay up your coverage over a period of years, usually ten
or twenty, and then have the satisfaction of knowing that your life is covered forever!
On the other hand, some term policies do not guarantee that rates will remain level through the
whole term. To guarantee that rate, you could have to buy an extra rider, and all of a sudden,
that policy is not as cheap as it looked like before. If you do not make sure the premium will
remain level, and you do not buy the rider, you could find your rates increased after five years.
With a term policy, you will either have to accept the higher premium or lose the policy, with
nothing to show for the years you did pay on it.
Another advantage of permanent coverage is that it can actually be used as an asset. When you
build up cash value, you can borrow against that value. You can even choose to cash your policy
in for the value. Of course, then you could be left without life insurance, but at least you will
have some cash back for the premiums you put in. If you have a permanent policy, you can even
choose to sell the face value of the life insurance policy in many states. The purchaser will
continue making payments on the policy if it needs to be kept in force, but will pay a cash

A New Breed Of Genetic Engineering
Genetic modification has long been a part of the way humans adapt to their environment. From
selectively breeding sheep to get the perfect wool to eliminating unsavory seeds to get the tastiest,
reddest apples, people have been indirectly engineering the genes of other organisms for centuries.
However, scientific advancement has produced a new breed of genetic engineering. Scientists are
now able to actually insert genes from one organism into the DNA of another (Goldbas 20). While
this has led to numerous beneficial medicines and foods, the modern GMOs are enveloped in
controversy.
The food industry is under great pressure as the world population sky rockets. To many, the GMOs,

According to a Pew study, 88 percent of these [American Association for the Advancement of
Science] scientists believe that genetically engineered food products are safe to eat (Koberstein
49). However, of those very same scientists only 68 percent think the same of foods grown with
pesticides (Koberstein 49). This is incredibly ironic because all GMO foods are grown with the
use of pesticides. If the scientists properly understood GMOs, then the number for GMOs would
be no greater than the number for pesticides. They contradict themselves by having a lower
opinion of pesticide use than GMOs. Distinguished environmental journalist Paul Koberstein
reports the GMOs are grown using some [pesticides] which have been shown to be highly toxic to
the environment and humans, like atrazine, chlorpyrifos, as well as potentially hazardous
insecticidal proteins that are genetically embedded into the plant (49). There is no logical world in
which pesticide use is capable of being worse that GMO foods. This situation is just the beginning
of the GMO enigma, which remarkably involves simultaneously using and ignoring science. More
than just pesticides are causing harm when it comes to GMOs. The FDA, or Food and Drug
Administration, allows companies that manufacture GMOs to determine the safety of their own
products (Hemphill 8). While in theory the companies are supposed to only release products that

How Change is Important to Grow Essay
The area of study: change, has helped me deepened my understanding on the different forms of
change and how change can affect people in different way. During my study of Tim Winton s

important in order for a person to grow and can take many forms in any aspect of our lives. Tim
Winton s Big World has helped me understand a new face of change. The change in the story is

Tim Winton portrayal of changing relationship in Big World has helped me understand how the
dejection we get from a commensalistic relationship can conclude with a positive perspective on
how relationships are a learning curve for change and experience.
Change plays an important role in constructing emphasis of one s changing perspective and it has

He doesn t understand that they won t listen because his problem is irrelevant to theirs. Delaney
becomes angry, like a little child that throws a fit because nobody is paying attention to him. If
Delaney was more a part of the community, and had more friends who maybe felt the same way
about the things he did, he might have had more of a status in the meeting, but Delaney is like
wallpaper. He doesn t want to be invisible; he just wants to blend in with the rest of the world.
Delaney s racism has only escalated from the beginning of the novel to the end of part one, so
one could surmise his problem will only become worse. He puts up a front of this perfect person
who has no flaws, and is just a simple man a Moss backer . He will most likely have another
encounter with a Mexican, and that would bring out his anger towards them even more. Delaney
could start to realize from the meeting that if he became involved with the community, he could
have more of a place in Arroyo Blanco Estates. If he does that, he might see that he doesn t have to
just blend in; he can have an influence in the things that go in in the community. Works Cited

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT), or also known as hormone therapy (HT) is a government
approved treatment that has seen a resurgence in popularity due to it benefits for men and women.
From menopause to osteoporosis, HRT can help treat and prevent medical ailments that affect
thousands of people in a variety of age groups.
Managing Menopause
HRT is one of the most effective practices used to help women manage the discomfort they may
experience during menopause. Reduced levels of estrogen and progesterone can cause hot flashes,
mood swings, night sweats, vaginal dryness and sleep disturbances. An estrogen only therapy (ET)

cancer.
Women receiving HRT containing estrogen will not only see a reduction of their menopausal
symptoms but there is also the benefit of improved brain function, thicker hair and bone density, as
well as better sleep and muscle function.
Osteoporosis
When estrogen levels decrease, a woman s chances for developing osteoporosis increases following
menopause. Studies have shown that women who receive HRT during menopause have had a
greater bone density in the early and late postmenopausal stage.
Men receiving a testosterone replacement therapy will also see the benefit of increased bone
density and will be at a much lower risk of developing osteoporosis as well.

that the once dependable fuel tax is no longer producing revenues at the rate required to maintain

Furthermore, how much people pay for the roads won t necessarily correspond to how much they

expand capacity, but this is no longer feasible for a variety of reasons. The time to move through
the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process is often extensive, land acquisition may no

infrastructure. As a result, transportation agencies and policymakers must explore new

From 1400 NOW: Sikh is the Caum (kind of race) which barely most Non Sikh people can figure it
out. Let me start this way: Most of every Sikh was very very great warrior, they are still now and
they will be. If Sikh can t able to get justice, they will get it in various ways, and they did get it
many times in the past hundred years. Sikh holiest Shrines called quot; Darbar Sahib quot; quot;

the common problem is Political; people face this problem only in India. By saying Political
problems I mean Corruption in Government offices, lack of good education, poor economy in
which rich people are getting rich and poor people are getting poor. Every politician in India is
crooked, I mean everybody from police officer to Governor. Second most problems that today s
Sikh faces are the social religious issues. For example: Many people think that eating meat is
allowed in Sikhism, which 100% wrong, another example is that many people cut their hair
thinking that keeping hair long is not so important, which is also 100% wrong. There are lot of

Essay on Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man and The Wall
The Artist in Joyce s A Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man and Pink Floyd s The Wall
Foragers, the people who live in hunter gatherer societies, have no artists. It is only when society
becomes complex enough to support a division of labor do artists emerge first as shamans, then as
the painters, singers, writers, etc., that we usually think of today. Society, then, creates the artist, but
it can also destroy him. In A Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man, James Joyce describes the
particular development of Stephan Dedalus that led to his becoming an artist. Pink s development in
Pink Floyd s The Wall, mirrors that of Stephen yet concludes in the destruction of the artist.

Pink Floyd makes this separation into the metaphor of the brick wall that plays a role though out
the rock opera. Pink Floyd focuses entirely on its destructive side while James Joyce only touches
on its negative aspects as he portrays the artist s development and concludes with the constructive
side of the separation.
The separation begins in both artists while they are very young and becomes most evident in their
interactions with their peers and members of the opposite sex. A contributing factor to the
development of their separation is the manner in which they were educated. School, a place that is
supposed to nurture the minds of children, has devastating effects on the young artists. The
teachers, who are supposed to guide their students in unlocking their potential, are harsh and
authoritative. Stephen is punished unfairly for having broken his glasses, and Pink s poetry is
mocked before the class. Pink expresses his opinion of the education he received in the album s
most well know song:
We don t need no education
We don t need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave the kids alone...
All in all you re just another brick in the wall.

Summary Of 13 Most Wanted Men By Alhol Warhol
Instead of taking the rejection with a grain of salt and moving on, Warhol interpreted it as a
challenge to convince others to view him as a serious artist. He realized no one would take him
seriously if he continued to pursue his interests such as displayed in Boys Kissing Boys. Instead
of moving away from his homosexual subject matter altogether, Warhol found other less direct
ways of including it in his work. 13 Most Wanted Men was commissioned to be displayed at the
1964 1965 New York World s fair, but it was painted over within days of its debut in what some
have described as quite literally white washing the work. Warhol printed large images of
criminals side by side who were suspected of being part of the Mafia; the images he gathered
were from a booklet that was released by the NYPD s Commissioner a few months prior to the fair
s opening day. The piece was 20 x20 and done entirely in black and white. Gerard Malanga, Warhol
s studio assistant, said [Andy] thought it would be funny and shocking within the context of a
family outing, in regards to Warhol s choice of subject matter. The subject in this context is the
wanted men. On the surface of the work, it features mugshots of thirteen criminals, however, there
is a double meaning placed within the title of the work. Warhol is toying with the notion that law
enforcement officials were not the only ones who want men. The entire piece is built around a pun
with homosexual undertones. The portraits are

analytics is to answer the question what is happening and why did it happen? . The process of
descriptive analytics is looking at past performance and understanding this performance. Data
mining, data aggregation, segmentation, profiling are some tools that can be used to perform the
descriptive analytics. The output of this analytics, for example, is the age range of bank customers,
the income distribution of the customers, number of children in the household, and customers
preferences. b.Predictive Analytics. This type of business analytics is to answer the question What
is likely to happen? . The process of predictive analytics is identifying past patterns and using
statistical models and forecast techniques to understand the future. The output of the predictive
analytics, for example is, which age range of customers that will apply for credit cards in the next
12 months, which income range of the customers that will use the electronics banking facilities for
next 2 years. c.Prescriptive Analytics. This type of analytics will help answer the question What
action should be taken? . This analytics uses optimization and simulation algorithms to advise on
possible outcomes (maximize good outcomes and minimize potentially bad outcomes). Prescriptive
analytics is a decision making tool equipped with the risk mitigation. The output of prescriptive
analytics, for example

The Devistation Of Abraham Lincoln s Assassination
So you want to know about Lincoln s assassination. Lincoln was assassinated by a man named
John Wilkes Booth. He was killed at a play he was attending with his wife. The theater was Ford s
theater. The assassination was justified because Lincoln was unpopular among people, he wasn t
liked because he did not act like previous presidents did and also because he abolished slavery. The
assassinationwas not justified because a lot of people liked Lincoln so they wouldn t have reason to
want him dead. Abraham Lincolnwas unpopular between people. He was unpopular between
people because they didn t like the way he ran things in office. They didn t like that he abolished
slavery. Also how he didn t run like previous presidents. They wanted him to run the nation like
previous presidents because they liked the way the other presidents ran in office. They didn t
like that Abraham Lincoln abolished slavery, because they didn t want slaves to be free. They
wanted slaves to serve under them and make profit off of them. They also didn t black people so
that s another reason they didn t want slavery to be abolished. One of the reasons they didn t
want slavery abolished was because they made profit off of slaves. Without slaves they didn t
make as much money. Abraham Lincoln did not run the office like other presidents did when they
were in office. The way the other presidents ran in office Lincoln did it different. Like how Lincoln
abolished slavery none of the other presidents before

Collonization Of Australia And Indigenous Australian People
Identify the primary factors which led to the colonisation of Australia and Indigenous Australian
peoples and explain the theories of race which supported this process.
This essay identifies the primary factors which led to the colonisation of Australia and Indigenous
Australian peoples while explaining how race theories were used to justify colonising Australia.
Many factors led to the colonisation of Australia including British Imperialism, but the penal
colony was very important so the British pushed on, whether they had the right to or not. Race
was a theory and using sources, this essay explores different opinions and perspectives of the race
theories. The Indigenous Australian people were on the lower end of the Great Chain of Being and
therefore, were treated as inferior to the Europeans.
British colonialism emerged from rapid political, social and economic change and this affected the
development of technology and a strong sense of national pride and identity which led the way for
the British Empire to be a global power. Due to the Industrial Revolution, the majority of the
population lived in the city which created poor living conditions and overcrowding. With low
economic rates, many people were pushed into theft to feed their families and in turn, the crime
rates rose significantly. Many convicts were sentenced to transportation and were sent, and
sometimes sold, to work as labourers in South American colonies. Due to the American War of
Independence,

Summary Of Helena Maria ViramontesUnder The Feet Of Jesus
In the passage from Under the Feet of Jesus , Helena Maria Viramontes utilizes elements such as
figurative language and selection of detail to document and analyze the development of Estrella s
character throughout the text. The perplexity and distress she feels in school is evident until she
matures by the end of the excerpt demonstrating her newly acquired potential and confidence.
These elements demonstrate how an impoverished immigrant like Estrella learns and realizes to
understand critical, essential aspects and use this to rise above her struggles and be up to par to
the teacher s expectations who deemed her unworthy. Her relationship with Perfecto Flores and
his toolbox helps to guide her to acknowledge the everlasting and infinite value of education and
its significance. Viramontes uses figurative language to compare Estrella s confused and
frustrated expression when she sees things that she doesn t understand or know what they are.
She compares the tools and obscure shaped objects from a toolbox to a foreign language that one
does not understand to emphasize the difficulty that Estrella faces when she comes into contact
with these tools with a regular person who comes into a language that is not native to their own.
As the text progresses, she meets Perfecto Flores who enlightens and educates her on the names
and purposes of these tools which proves to be a pivotal point for Estrella who feels as if she just
developed her own language or alphabet . Viramontes

Primary And Secondary Sources On The Battle Of Shiloh
Accounts from Shiloh
One of the major events of the American Civil War is the Battle of Shiloh, which took place on
August 6 and 7th in 1862. The Battle of Shiloh was the bloodiest battle at that point in time in the
Civil War. There were more than 23,000 combined causalities. The Battle of Shiloh not only was an
important victory for the Union, but a point that changed the dynamics behind soldiers fighting.
There are multitudes of primary sources along with many secondary sources on the Battle of
Shiloh. Both types of sources have their advantages and disadvantages. Primary and secondary
sources each offer their own distinctive perspectives on the Battle of Shiloh.
A brief summary can lead to a better understanding of how the battle was ... Show more content on

The information that Bragg recorded is much different from many of the other primary sources.
He received information that was more accurate and realized that the Confederates did not have
a victory at Shiloh. Bragg wrote that Beauregard fell back to Corinth. He goes on to state,
Reinforcements had been rec d by the enemy and that he [Beauregard] had not been able to
secure all the artillery ammunition which they lost in the battle. This shows how the
Confederacy has failed to complete their objective of driving back the Union army before it was
reinforced. It also mentions how they could not secure the Union s artillery and ammunition
because they were driven back to Corinth on the second day. The information that Thomas Bragg
received is accurate from a factual standpoint. One of the possible reasons the information he
received was good was because of his position in the Confederate government. Information was
most likely received directly from officers and not clouded by rumors or speculations and views
of soldiers. Braggs perspective and understanding of the Battle of Shiloh is much more broad as
well.
The Battle of Shiloh not only was a decisive battle in the early civil war, but it also changed how
soldiers regarded bravery and honor on the battlefield. Cyrus F. Boyd describes his late arrival to
reinforce Grant at the battle of

Worker B5-8-9-2 Reporting
A siren resonated around the blinding white walls of the moulded plastic room. The deafening
noise, like a brash crashing of cymbals, was followed by an impassive metallic voice. It roared
through the sonic speakers. Worker B3 8 2 4, you have received a promotion. She straightened
in her chair and looked fearfully across the desk at her co worker. He was frozen, hands poised
over the keyboard, transfixed by her shrieks as she was dragged away from the cubicle by
enforcers. The door shut with a thud. The only sound now was a hum of electricity that
emanated from the two monitors on the bare plastic desk. It filled the vacuum that had been left
behind by yet another of the disappeared. The worker let the air trapped in his lungs escape in a
sigh. He arched his lower back; crossed and uncrossed his legs, and reached for the pair of worn
weathered headphones on top of the monitor. The response was instant. An impassive metallic
voice directed the worker through his next task. Worker B5 8 9 2, proceed to Section 231 of the
Worker s Manual. The automated system droned. Delete but and replace with and . Thank you for
your cooperation. At that moment the new replacement shuffled into the featureless cubicle and
slumped down opposite him. He fitted his own headphones and began keying meaningless changes
into the system. The new, clean shaven recruit, garbed in the dark grey overalls of the company,
appeared oblivious to the world around him. He lay hunched over the

The Aggression Scale Movie
Aggression scale is a film about trauma. Specifically, coping with trauma by using anger. An
unjust event shattered Owen and Lauren s lives. Mobsters are coming to reclaim money stolen by
their father and kill the family for the father s sins. When the mobsters arrive Lauren in the shower
and Owen is already scheming a plan of attack. What the mobsters do not know is that Owen has a
diagnosed behavioral problem. Aggression.
The trauma we act out is guided our place in ideological systems. Gender interprets our trauma in
terms of weakness and power. Masculinity teaches trains boys that manliness is defined by
toleration of pain. A boy proves manhood by taking more pain then the next guy. But if a boy
flinch s or is swayed by tragedy his very genitalia is called into question. A girl, on the other hand,
is expected to show weakness and avoid showing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What does set him apart from traditional slashers is his enjoyment of violence. While the film
justifies Owen s violence as vengeance against home invaders and attacks by bullies this does not
tell the whole story.
Lauren, Owen s stepsister, on the other hand, reacts to trauma differently. The only clue we are
given about her history is the scars on her wrists. Some unknown event has rattled its way into her
brain. In all likelihood, she was the victim of someone s whims or dealt a bad hand of genetics.
Whatever is the cause of Laurens tragedy, she directs her aggression inwards. Internalizing the
aggressor and re victimizing herself.
The scene about midway through the film where Lauren respectively stabs one of the mobsters is
telling. Unlike Owen who is calm and numbly collected when he traps and hunts the mobsters,
Lauren screams while she repetitively stabs the mobster. From her depths, something larger than the
violence is bellowing. The opposite of relief. Lauren is crossing a line from victim to something

Information About Oil And Natural Gas Extraction Industry
To:Dr. Maria D. Davidson
From:Nicolas HardawayNH
Date:September 18, 2014
Subject:Information about Oil and Natural Gas Extraction Industry
This Report requested by the principal financial investor, Dr. Maria D. Davidson, includes
information required to make an informed decision on whether or not to diversify into the Oil and
Natural Gas Extraction industry. The Oil and Natural Gas Extraction industry is involved in the
processes required to find and extract crude oil and natural gas. The Oil and Natural Gas industry
has performed well in recent years despite economic challenges due to the help of new techniques
and technologies that have allowed the industry to quickly recover after economic setbacks.
What are the Major Components of the Oil and Gas Extraction Industry?
Major Operations that this industry is involved in include the exploration and drilling of crude oil,
and the extraction of natural gasses. Once the oil and gas is extracted, these companies now are
responsible for processing the material to then be sold to industries that then either refine crude oil
or distribute natural gas.
Extraction
Traditionally, large drills are used to extract crude oil from the ground or in offshore deposits. With
these techniques, large amounts of crude oil has been left untouched because it was uneconomical
to attempt to retrieve the oil. But, with new techniques such as hydraulic fracturing and horizontal
drilling, it can now become more efficient for companies to go

John Agard and Unrelated Incidents by Tom Leonard.
You can clearly see before you begin to read these poems that they are set out differently to your
average poem. For example in Unrelated
Incidents that there are no more than four words per poem. The punctuation in Unrelated Incidents
is based on the phanetic way of spelling, this means that you spell the way speak and pronounce
words.
The poems is also meant to be spoken in a Glaswegian accent. In Half
Caste it s spelt and meant to be spoken in a Caribbean Patois.
In both poems they re defending the way that they are (The colour of his skin in Half Caste ... Show

He says he is interested in the political nature of voice in British culture .
The poem is carefully written in a phonetic version of the Glasgow accent. If you pronounce it
exactly as it s written, it should sound more or less like a Glaswegian voice. Tom Leonard has
played with language in a number of ways, apart from the phonetic spelling: there is almost no
punctuation, there are lots of slang and colloquial words like scruff and belt up , the newsreader
talks directly to the reader .
Tom Leonard is arguing that this is the way the media thinks about him. He believes that the
media see the viewers in Glasgow, or indeed the viewers in most other parts of Britain, as scruffs .
Which isn t fair and is a form of racism. The humour has a satirical edge, he uses humour to make
serious criticisms.
In the persona of the announcer he states that you wouldn t want him to give the news in any
other accent or dialect, because you wouldn t accept that it was true, a voice speaking in a
working class accent and using slang is given less credit and has less authority than a BBC voice.
Halfe Cast
I think that the gentleman writing this poem (in a rather strange vernacular I own) is somewhat
confused.
To my mind half caste refers to one born of two parents, one of a race where the predominant skin
colour is black and the other typically white European, or white

Benjamin Franklin And John Winthrop
Benjamin Franklin and John Winthrop, men with different ideals, present the same notion that
America should be presented as a city upon a hill. Franklin believed that the American dream
should be presented as an ideal where men and women are equal and can both move up in social
class on their own, practicing any religionthey desired. On the other hand, Winthrop believed that
the new world was a religious safe haven only for the Puritans. American Exceptionalism was
overall the main focus, guiding America to define itself as a special nation founded upon
democratic values and liberty.
Benjamin Franklin believed in developing an America that respected all religions and thought the
best of each and every other one. He believed that a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Franklin had a lot of respect for women, especially in a social setting. He did not a typical man s
perspective about women, he had a different understanding of women and their role in marriage.
In his autobiography, Franklin spoke of his wife with compassion and appreciation quoting an
English proverb He that would thrive must ask his wife (Franklin 62). Franklin respected his
wife for her work ethic and considered himself lucky to such an amazing woman in his life.
Through his respect for his wife, Franklin demonstrated a respect for all women and not just their
ability to do basic household chores but their ability to perform difficult tasks in the workplace as
well. He believed that there was room for women in the American Dream. During this time,
women did not have very large roles in society besides being in charge or maintaining the
household, but Franklin foreshadowed an America that would have women as a strong part of the
workforce and leadership. He had high hopes that women would climb the ranks of society just as
men did.
Franklin, himself climbed the ranks society having emerged from the poverty and obscurity in
which [he] was born and bred to a state of affluence and some degree of reputation in the world
(Franklin 27). He had been raised by a humble middle class family, not being promised much wealth
or land, forcing him to make a name for himself. Franklin, a man of the enlightenment,

The Shia s View On Abu Bakr
The Shia had an entirely different view on Abu Bakr, and on whom the next successor should be.
The Shia s emerged as a political division over who should lead the community. They believed
that Ali, the Prophet s son in law and cousin, should be the First Caliph. The word Shia quite
literally means party of Ali. They wanted to keep the succession well in the family line, and had a
tarnished view of Abu Bakr. The believed that Ali was a part of the Ahlul Bayth people of the
family or home. The Ahlul Byath is mentioned very ambiguously in the Quran, and is unclear
wether it means family ro larger community. The Shias believe that the Ahlul Byath was of key
importance and meant small, immediate family, which is why Ali in their minds was... Show more

A sad thought because during the Prophet s entire life he promoted the idea of unity within an

2.) Jihad is the struggle and strive toward an endeavor. The greater Jihad is an internal struggle
first seen during the Meccan period (610 622) the struggle when being pressured and persecuted.
The lesser Jihad (622 632) is more physical and outward Jihad, more relating to violence. Jihad al
Nafs is the struggle with oneself, or soul. The Jihadd al Saif is the struggle of the soul. The
Khawarij s even adopted the concept of jihad as one of their pillars of Islam (Rahman 37). The
Quran describes it as a system similar to checks and balances in which one group has the
responsibility to check other groups if they violate there rights and it is their duty to bring them
back into correct order. The concept of Jihad has greatly evolved over time, with present day
scholars and apologists furiously trying to explain that the term does not mean what many think it
does. Presently it has taken a negative connotation and misconception due to the terror committed
under this word. Jihad in the Quran in ints 199 references, is most usually referring to holy war .
However it does not necessarily promote war for no reason, and killings. Jihad became a mean for
the umma to defend and expand their society in

Similarities Between Everyman And The Pilgrim s Progress
Religion has played a significant role in the shaping and molding of human civilization. In the
Middle Ages, religion was a core pinnacle that served as a source of guidance and meaning for
individuals and the state. The medieval play, Everyman, explores the journey of Everyman to
Heaven and the phases he must go through in order to stand before God to give an account of his
life. Everyman was written during a time when the Catholic Church s practice of penance was
paramount as a means for attaining salvation. The personification of the everyday person and
spiritual qualities in this play gives an impressive insight into the trials and victories that are part of
the Christian walk on the journey to eternal life. This work embodies the... Show more content on

44) However, he realizes that the people who walk on the narrow path in life are few. Every
Christian on a journey to eternal life longs for fellowship in order to have a sense of community
and joy. The outcome of life one strives for is to live a rewarding life. God will judge each
individual s good and bad deeds when all mankind stands before Him to give an account of their
life. The allegorical aspect of the play serves an important role in this scene because it appeals to
the common individual through its emphasis on relationship. Everyman s longing for a friend is
an inherent desire of every Christian because it gives them a sense of community while seeking
purpose and meaning in life. In his article, The Doctrine of Friendship in Everyman, John
Conley says, In his hour of adversity Everyman turns first to Fellowship, who like a true friend
readily promises to help before he knows what will be asked of him...But as soon as Fellowship
learns what Everyman wants of him, he reneges on his promise (376). Here, Friendship appears
to be a nice and loyal friend on the surface; however, as the layers are removed, his true character is
revealed. As

My reach of contribution to the society and campaign endorsement through a celebrity figure adds up to a positive result. If my campaign becomes successful and I get elected, then the three committees that I would serve would be Criminal Jurisprudence, Human Services, and Environmental Regulation. Anyone could be a victim of the agenda that I got elected for, i.e. crimes, health and environmental suffrage. The constituent services that I would do for the voters is by adhering to make the surrounding a safer area or strict security, confirming insured people, and creating a green act movement to save our atmosphere from any kind of degradation. In addition, I would also specifically focus on high profile cases like crimes so that the voters would be benefited with all the basic needs to sustain as a secure human being. About creating a homestyle , I would prefer something that would influence my voters for reelection and, also build a trust in them by implementing the ideas presented before the election. It often happens when the elected leader fails to accomplish their goals which makes their voters to distrust the political leaders. Nietzsche ideas was an inscribed assessment based upon ethical principles. Nietzsche analyzes the connections and significance of the contrasting moral concepts in a distinctive section where he elaborates on the good and the bad as well as the good and evil, by expressing his thoughts on slave moralitythat was created by the Jews. Nietzsche compares the Jews to the priest caste who were the most hated in human history. The Jews somehow managed to reverse the moral assessments associating themselves as good but, the powerful nobles will be known as evil and damned for eternity. However, Nietzsche said, It was the Jews who started the slave revolt in morals (445) In the following section, Nietzsche explains that the reassessment of values effected by the Jews was occurring and that they were not noticeable. One of their achievements was the development of the religious teachings Christianity. After reviewing the two scenes from an Anatomy of a Murder and the Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct, it s clear that Biegler and McCarthy behaved unethically; because he disclosed client information without consent and he indirectly imposed what defense Lieutenant Manion should plea. In the first scene, Biegler and McCarthy are discussing Biegler s first visit with Mr. Manion and whether or not he was going to take the case; McCarthy also proposes Biegler guide Mr.Manion into a defense. In the second scene, Biegler meets with Mr.Manion for the second time and he indirectly guides him into a plea of insanity. Biegler told McCarthy that he did not coach Mr. Manion into a fake story and he gave his opinion of Mr.Manions character as being insolent and hostile; hence the reason why he felt he was not fit to take the case. • 8. Role of Chinese History on People’s Imagination As great philosopher George Santayana once said, Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. History plays a critical role in understanding why the present is the way it is, and it allows us to make conscious decisions about the future. By examining and analyzing historical events, we are able to dive into the past in order to gain insight on direction to the future. One must be able to learn about the past, learn about mistakes and problems, in order to move forward. In class, we had dove into the distinction between analyzing historical context. We discussed how gigantic history takes a precedent model and is easily understood as a trajectory of historical events. One can compare and contrast how courses were taken by the active role of nations, their governments and revolutions, and how society has been molded to fit specific ideologies. On the contrary, we also discussed the opposite of gigantic history, which would be referred to as minuscule history. It posits that history is more of a collection of ideas taken from personal experiences of people that are brought together to explain significant historical events. Building a foundational historical pivot point from which to move is crucial to how China perceived itself in becoming one of the world s global leading countries today. Role of Chinese history on people s imagination of their country and themselves: China has had a profound influence by western powers during the imperialist conquests ... For years we waited, no person ever washing upon our shore. All we longed was a new friend, or man to get lost at sea and wash up on our island for us to care for and love. An industrial relations is a policy that approaches the employees, and acts as a reference for the management, where the actions that underlies the industrial relations is set by a formal authority in the organisation (Brewster, Gill, Richbell, 1981). The management has their own interest compared to the employees, and therefore conflict between an employer and employee is inevitable. They are also against HRM, as they look at it as manipulative of the workers. Trade unions is a reaction and exploitation to the management, and working towards a radical change in the society. Therefore Ms CCCC it is important to accept and respect that the employment relationship is interdependent, a psychological contract Rousseau (1990), which means that the contract is mutual, and there has to be cooperation on both of the sides. I would say, to acctually conceptualise the employment relationship, I would recommend to take actions and decisions that can create trust between your relationship. The ability to communicate anonymously is viewed as part of our basic right to free speech . With the advent of computers and ease of access to the internet, becoming anonymous as never been easier, and is far more reaching than the colonial newspapers of 1787. For some this ease at which we can communicate anonymous is cause for concern. Although we are no longer hiding our identities to promote the ratification of the Constitution, being anonymous still plays a large role in our society. Online anonymity grants anyone with an internet connection an unbiased voice, regardless of gender, race, or wealth. Without this freedom to online anonymity many people would not feel free to express themselves or release sensitive information about themselves or about corruption, in the case of whistleblowing. Anonymity can also be used as a security measure and prevent unauthorized mining of personal information. Although multiple ethical framework will be used and compared, using a consequence based framework will be the main examining point throughout. The use of the term anonymous can be confusing from an online perspective. For many years this strategy worked and catapulted Dominos to the leading organization in the business. However, after many years of success, the pizza industry started to evolve and Dominos found itself facing declining sales numbers, high employee turnover, and poor consumer ratings in taste tests. If the company were going to survive it had to re evaluate its long standing value proposition, revamp its food, and also restructure its HR strategies. All of which were done successfully, but this paper will focus on the latter of the group Dominos HR strategies. In other words, for every employee hired during a year another 1.5 employees quit (Snell, et al. pg. 78, 2015). In 2009, with rising customer dissatisfaction, sharper declines in sales, and obvious employee dissatisfaction Dominos decided to launch a franchise wide turnaround. From selectively breeding sheep to get the perfect wool to eliminating unsavory seeds to get the tastiest, reddest apples, people have been indirectly engineering the genes of other organisms for centuries. However, scientific advancement has produced a new breed of genetic engineering. Scientists are now able to actually insert genes from one organism into the DNA of another (Goldbas 20). However, of those very same scientists only 68 percent think the same of foods grown with pesticides (Koberstein 49). This is incredibly ironic because all GMO foods are grown with the use of pesticides. If the scientists properly understood GMOs, then the number for GMOs would be no greater than the number for pesticides. They contradict themselves by having a lower opinion of pesticide use than GMOs. Distinguished environmental journalist Paul Koberstein reports the GMOs are grown using some [pesticides] which have been shown to be highly toxic to the environment and humans, like atrazine, chlorpyrifos, as well as potentially hazardous insecticidal proteins that are genetically embedded into the plant (49). By saying Political problems I mean Corruption in Government offices, lack of good education, poor economy in which rich people are getting rich and poor people are getting poor. Every politician in India is crooked, I mean everybody from police officer to Governor. Second most problems that today s Sikh faces are the social religious issues. The lost decade was a period when the economy imploded, the asset bubble collapsed, banks teetered on the edge of insolvency, unemployment skyrocketed, suicides increased and the leaders of Japan, Inc. were tarnished by exposes of pervasive corruption . Essay on Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man and The Wall The Artist in Joyce s A Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man and Pink Floyd s The Wall Foragers, the people who live in hunter gatherer societies, have no artists. It is only when society becomes complex enough to support a division of labor do artists emerge first as shamans, then as the painters, singers, writers, etc., that we usually think of today. Society, then, creates the artist, but it can also destroy him. In A Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man, James Joyce describes the particular development of Stephan Dedalus that led to his becoming an artist. Pink Floyd focuses entirely on its destructive side while James Joyce only touches on its negative aspects as he portrays the artist s development and concludes with the constructive side of the separation. The separation begins in both artists while they are very young and becomes most evident in their interactions with their peers and members of the opposite sex. A contributing factor to the development of their separation is the manner in which they were educated. School, a place that is supposed to nurture the minds of children, has devastating effects on the young artists. The teachers, who are supposed to guide their students in unlocking their potential, are harsh and authoritative. Stephen is punished unfairly for having broken his glasses, and Pink s poetry is mocked before the class. Pink expresses his opinion of the education he received in the album s most well know song: We don t need no education We don t need no thought control No dark sarcasm in the classroom Teachers leave the kids alone... Summary Of 13 Most Wanted Men By Alhol Warhol Instead of taking the rejection with a grain of salt and moving on, Warhol interpreted it as a challenge to convince others to view him as a serious artist. He realized no one would take him seriously if he continued to pursue his interests such as displayed in Boys Kissing Boys. Instead of moving away from his homosexual subject matter altogether, Warhol found other less direct ways of including it in his work. 13 Most Wanted Men was commissioned to be displayed at the 1964 1965 New York World s fair, but it was painted over within days of its debut in what some have described as quite literally white washing the work. Warhol printed large images of criminals side by side who were suspected of being part of the Mafia; the images he gathered were from a booklet that was released by the NYPD s Commissioner a few months prior to the fair s opening day. The piece was 20 x20 and done entirely in black and white. Gerard Malanga, Warhol s studio assistant, said [Andy] thought it would be funny and shocking within the context of a family outing, in regards to Warhol s choice of subject matter. The subject in this context is the wanted men. On the surface of the work, it features mugshots of thirteen criminals, however, there is a double meaning placed within the title of the work. Warhol is toying with the notion that law enforcement officials were not the only ones who want men. The entire piece is built around a pun with homosexual undertones. The portraits are ... This essay identifies the primary factors which led to the colonisation of Australia and Indigenous Australian peoples while explaining how race theories were used to justify colonising Australia. Many factors led to the colonisation of Australia including British Imperialism, but the penal colony was very important so the British pushed on, whether they had the right to or not. Race was a theory and using sources, this essay explores different opinions and perspectives of the race theories. The Indigenous Australian people were on the lower end of the Great Chain of Being and therefore, were treated as inferior to the Europeans. These elements demonstrate how an impoverished immigrant like Estrella learns and realizes to understand critical, essential aspects and use this to rise above her struggles and be up to par to the teacher s expectations who deemed her unworthy. Her relationship with Perfecto Flores and his toolbox helps to guide her to acknowledge the everlasting and infinite value of education and its significance.
