Louis Pasteur was a French chemist and biologist born in 1822. He made groundbreaking discoveries in chemistry and microbiology, including developing the process of pasteurization to prevent spoilage in food and drink. As a professor of chemistry, Pasteur researched the molecular basis of chirality and the role of microorganisms in fermentation and disease. He invented vaccines for rabies and anthrax and made breakthroughs in immunology that reduced mortality from various infectious diseases.

2. Early Life!
Louis Pasteur was born on the 27th December 1822, in Dole
the Jura region of France, into the family of a poor tanner (a
person who tans animal hides.) Pasteur was a fine student in
his early years, but when it came to drawing and painting,
Louis excelled by miles (His pastel and portraits of his parents
and friends were later kept in the museum of Pasteur Institute
in Paris.)
Louis Pasteur earned his bachelor of arts degree in 1840. 2
years later he earned his bachelor of science degree. In 1848 he
served briefly as a professor of physics at Dijon Lycee. He
became a professor of chemistry at University of Strasbourg in
1849.
3. Start of Fame!
Louis Pasteur met a nice lady named Marie Laurent in
1849. They got married on May 29, 1849. Together
Louis and Marie had 5 children, but sadly only 2
children managed to make it into adulthood; the other
3 died of Typhoid. These deaths inspired Pasteur to try
finds cures for these diseases such as Typhoid.
When Pasteur was an early chemist he found out some
amazing things about the composition of tartaric acid.
It went on to help him win a place as professor of
chemistry in Strasbourg.
4. Working Career!
In 1854, Pasteur was named Dean of the new
‘Faculty of Sciences in Lille.’
Louis Pasteur helped produce the first vaccine
against rabies. He saved the life of a young boy in
1885 with that vaccine. Pasteur studied the
immune system and made vaccinations for
chicken cholera and other diseases.
5. Pasteurization!
Louis Pasteur revolutionized the dairy industry
by invented the process of pasteurizing milk.
Which involves killing certain pathogens in order
to preserve the milk. The process of
pasteurization kills some but not all micro
organisms, only the ones that could be harmful
upon consumption.
6. Summary
Louis Pasteur was a very forward thinking
scientist who gave the modern world a glimpse at
the world of micro organisms and how they could
impact positively on our modern lives. I think
louis Pasteur started opened the door the
possibilities that bacteria have.
7. Quotes
Some quotes from the famous Louis Pasteur:
‘ Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to
humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world.’
‘I am on the edge of a mystery and the veil is getting thinner and
thinner.’
‘ I am utterly convinced that science and peace will triumph over
ignorance and war, that nations will eventually unite not to
destroy but to edify, and that the future will belong to those who
have done the most for the sake of suffering humanity.
‘One does not ask of one who’s suffering: What is your country and
what is your religion? One merely says: You suffer, that is enough
for me.’
8. Conclusion
Louis Pasteur died on the 28 September 1895.
Even though he’s dead, none of his discoveries
will ever die, they will always stay alive within
the hearts of the French and many scientists
around the world.
