Introduction
Logic gates are the fundamental building blocks
of digital electronics. They are electronic
circuits that perform logical operations on one
or more input signals and produce a single
output signal. There are several types of logic
gates, each with its unique function and
behavior.

Types of Logic
Gates!
Major logic gates: NOT, AND, OR,
and XOR
There are also other ones, such as
NAND, NOR, and XNOR .
This is called Boolean logic

NOT GATE
NOT is the most simple logic gate.
All it does is take in an input that is
either ON or OFF and spits out the
opposite.
So for a 1 it will give a 0, and for a 0 it
will give a 1.
Another name for a NOT gate is
inverter, because it inverts (makes
opposite) the input.

AND GATE
Unlike NOT, AND needs two
inputs
It only turns on when both inputs
are ON
If only one input is on, it spits out
OFF
If both inputs are off, it spits out
OFF

OR GATE
OR also needs two inputs
OR needs one input to be
ON for it to spit out ON
It is also ON when both
inputs are ON
It is OFF when both inputs
are OFF

XOR GATE
XOR is the short way to say
“Exclusive OR”
Like OR, XOR also only needs one
input to be ON for it to spit out ON
But unlike OR, when both inputs are
ON, XOR spits out OFF
It is also OFF when both inputs are
OFF

NAND GATE
NAND gates are often used as a
universal gate because they can be
used to construct any other type of
logic gate, including AND, OR, and
NOT gates.
NAND gates can have two or more
inputs, but they always have one
output.
In a NAND gate circuit, the output is
high (1) only when all inputs are low
(0). If any input is high (1),
the output is low.

NOR GATE
A NOR gate is a digital logic gate that
implements a logical NOR operation,
which produces an output of "true" (1 or
HIGH) only if both inputs are "false" (0
or LOW).
It is a combination of an OR gate and a
NOT gate, and is represented by the
symbol "⊕".
A NOR gate can have two or more
inputs, but only one output.
It is a universal gate and can be used to
create any other logic gate by using
NOT, AND, and OR gates.

The primary objective of logic gates is to provide a means of controlling the
flow of electric current in electronic circuits. Logic gates are used to perform
logical operations such as AND, OR, NOT, NAND, NOR, and XOR on input
signals, which are then used to control the flow of electric current in the circuit.
The output of a logic gate can be used to drive other logic gates or electronic
devices, such as LEDs, displays, or other components. Overall, the objective of
logic gates is to provide a simple and reliable way to control the flow of electric
current in electronic circuits, which can be used to build a wide range of digital
electronic systems.

Logic Trainer
 A logic gate trainer is a device used to
demonstrate and teach the basic principles of
digital logic.
 It allows users to experiment with different logic
gate configurations and observe the outputs.
 It typically includes various types of logic gates
such as AND, OR, NOT, and XOR gates as well
as input and output terminals.
 It may include additional features such as a
clock and a built-in oscilloscope for measuring
and observing signals.

Connecting wires
Wires, also known as electrical conductors,
are used to connect various components in
an electronic circuit.
They provide a pathway for electrical
current to flow from one point to another.
Wires are typically made of metal, such as
copper or aluminum, which have a low
resistance to the flow of electrical current.

Bread Board
A breadboard is a type of prototyping tool
that is commonly used in electronics to
build and test circuit designs.
It is called a "breadboard" because it
originally was a flat piece of wood with
holes drilled into it for attaching electronic
components. While modern breadboards
are now made of plastic.

IC(Integrated circuit)
 Integrated circuits (ICs) are small semiconductor
devices that contain transistors, diodes, and other
components that perform a specific function.
 ICs are widely used in electronic devices such as
computers, smartphones, televisions, and
automobiles.
 They are smaller, more reliable, and consume less
power than discrete circuits made up of individual
components.
 ICs are classified based on their complexity and
function, with examples such as microprocessors,
memory chips, and power management ICs.

Conclusion:
 Logic gates are the building blocks of digital electronics.
 They are used to perform logical operations on one or more input signals, and produce an output sign
 The basic logic gates are AND, OR, and NOT.
• AND Gate: The output of an AND gate is 1 only if all of its inputs are 1.
• OR Gate: The output of an OR gate is 1 if any of its inputs is 1.
• NOT Gate: The output of a NOT gate is the inverse of its input.
 There are also other types of logic gates such as NAND, NOR, XOR, and XNOR,
which can be constructed using combinations of the basic gates.
Logic gates are fundamental building blocks of electronic devices,
they receive inputs and depending on the operation of the logic gate it will give an output,
allowing to create more complex circuits and operations.
