This paper investigates decentralized load frequency control (LFC) in multi-area power systems utilizing a fuzzy logic controller, specifically comparing its performance to conventional PI controllers. The study reveals that the fuzzy logic controller effectively enhances damping performance in non-linear conditions for a three-area power system interconnected by both HVDC and AC tie-lines. Simulation results demonstrate that fuzzy logic-based LFC outperforms traditional methods under various disturbances.
