The Exploration History Of The Mcara Property Provided...
The exploration history of the McAra property provided here was compiled from Randall (2007),
Robinson (2006), Anonymous (2003), Anderson (2005), and Pringle (2016). 1910 1982: Early
Exploration Exploration in the region started in 1910s and was focused on Ag Co veins, with no
significant silver deposits haven been discovered in the McAra area. Copper zinc (VMS type?)
mineralized zones were discovered in Archean volcanic rocks in the southern part of North Williams
Township by Metron Explorations Limited in 1970. The mineralized zone and surrounding area were
evaluated with a HLEM survey and drilled with 2 DDHs (totaling 61.3 m) that did not intercept
significantly mineralized rocks (Willars, 1971). In 1982, perceived Witwatersrand type gold deposit
potential caused a major staking rush in the area, with exploration focused on conglomeratic units in
the Paleoproterozoic Lorrain Formation of the Cobalt Group that forms the upper part of the Huronian
Supergroup. Exploration was unsuccessful and the claims were quickly abandoned. Mid 1980s:
Falconbridge Nickel Falconbridge Nickel explored for base metal VMS deposits in the mid 1980s in
the nearby Sheard, Browning and Amyot townships. The highest amplitude conductors interpreted
from airborne data were evaluated with ground geophysical surveys and drill tested with poor results.
1996 1997: Roy Annett Roy Annett discovered the rusty zones 400 m (Annett #2) and 500 m (Annett
#1) to the northeast of McAra Lake in 1996. The Annett

Three Types of Dieters Essay
Beefy, big, blimp, butterball, and chunky all these names are what people are called in today s society,
I believe this is what prompts people to go on a diet. Every day, thousands of people try to lose
weight, but not for all the right reasons, the majority of people want to lose weight with little or no
effort involved; some watch infomercials , see magazine advertisements, music videos featuring fit
and trim women and men. There are several types of dieters; I am discussing three types of dieters.
The dieters who jump on every new diet fad they are called the bandwagon dieter , the promise dieter
is the person who promises him or herself they will really stick to their diet this time. The compulsive

It is unfortunate, that the bandwagon dieter will seek different medical procedures that are performed
by unskilled and unqualified doctors in and out of the United States to have their dream body. By
utilizing these types of procedures the dieter will go to the extreme to get their dream body, but being
blinded by the result, this dieter doesn t follow all research in thoroughly investigating all medical
procedures and/or doctors. The bandwagon dieter doesn t always do the proper research; this dieter
will endanger their health. The bandwagon dieter is always listening out for the next miracle drug for
weight loss. However, attending a class reunion or purchasing new clothes can be a dieter s incentive
to lose weight, making a decision to lose weight because of an event are very hard to keep, and the
promise dieter attempts to lose weight will result in failure. The promise dieter always starts their diet
on a Monday, that is always the promise and then the promise dieter mistakenly eats something not
healthy or not on their diet list and then all bets are off. The promise dieter is always willing to start
their diet over again. But, before the promise dieter is ready to start their new diet they eat anything
and everything before they start, on their new diet. The promise dieter has several attempts of trying to
lose weight, unfortunately they are unsuccessful. No one is fooled by the

Finding Truth In The Allegory Of The Cave By Plato
The Allegory of the cave is a story written by Plato an ancient philosopher who presented this work in
The Republic to describe the truth about reality. Plato believed that reality and the truth are both hard
to find. One must find knowledge of himself, discovering truth that is a process and to make known
self understanding. Plato wrote this story as a discussion between two greek philosophers, Socrates
and Glaucon. Socrates asks Glaucon what would it be like if people lived in the dark where all they
could only see shadows from the fire behind them. One of Plato s first points found in The Allegory of
the Cave is that the pursuit of truth grants man knowledge of himself. Man can never force someone
into recognizing light and or truth . Socrates says to Glaucon, And supposed once more, that he is
reluctantly dragged up a steep and rugged ascent, and held fast until he s forced into the presence of
the sun himself, is he not likely to be pained and irritated? (Plato 3). Once someone is introduced the
light for the first time it will be difficult to understand truth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It takes both time and effort. Finding truth can be hard and could be hidden in the deepest darkest of
places. In this quote , Socrates says to Glaucon, He will require to grow accustomed to the sight of the
upper world. And first he will see shadows best, next the reflections of me and other objects in the
water, and then the objects themselves; then he will gaze upon the light of the moon and the stars and
the spangled heaven. And he will see the sky and stars by night better than the sun or the light of the
sun by day (Plato 3). It takes time to see truth, but once one does they will be shocked at what comes
with it. Obviously, maturing takes time and more important experience. Plato already shared with
readers that the truth journey must be a personal one. Therefore there is no set way to gain knowledge,
thus, man cannot

Fun Home Research Paper
To be honest, I was shocked when I first received Fun Home: A Family Tragic in the mail. Not only
was I relatively unfamiliar with the subject matter when I skimmed throughout as my parents peered
over my shoulder, but all of us were shocked that my first college reading assignment would be a
graphic novel. My mother loves reading, but she is older and a bit traditional in some ways; initially
she was quite disappointed. I remember her whispering to my dad, Why would they send a comic
book? , but as an open minded person she ended up reading the book before I managed to and warned
me that although the novel was interesting it was quite a handful. I silently scoffed, but then
remembered my troubles with the graphic novel Maus. Neither of us ... Show more content on

from birth and a bisexual girl in the past that I briefly had a fling with. I love the lesbian couple, but
their homosexuality is in no way part of my relationship with them. This may sound a bit odd or
confusing, but I will explain. My best friend growing up was black and race was a significant part of
our friendship. We didn t pretend to be color blind, instead celebrating (or unfortunately in our
younger ages deriding) each others backgrounds. After reading Fun Home I think that acknowledging
or maybe even delving into our differences in sexuality may be a fruitful endeavor. It now seems so
weird to me that someone I was with actually mentioned they were bi and we never engaged in one

discussing sexuality, hopefully by attending Vassar my hesitance will be diminished. Fun Home is like

Second Language Acquisition on Children
Second Language Acquisition and Age Impact on its Acquisition
Ika Ulil M
20111111042
Abstract
Children acquire language since they were born. They communicate with their parents. Furthermore,
children and parents interact with each other using a language that we often call the first language or
mother tongue. At an early age, children are only learning one language that is the mother tongue. By
age and speech development, children improve to acquire a second language from the school or the
environment around them. In terms of speed of langgauge acquisition, children are factorized by both
the child and the child s learning environment. Therefore, it is important to understand how children
acquire second language. This paper is provided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When discussing about In other words , Bialystok and Hakuta state that there is some thought that
children who may appear to be learning a second languge very quickly at a vey young age (before the
age of 5). They further state that accompanied by the loss of their first language, have really replaced
the first language with the second language. 3. Models for Second Language Acquisition
Some linguistic models try to explain the development of second language acquisition. The three most
common models are (1) the Universal Grammar Model, (2) the Competition Model, and (3) the
Monitor Model. The Universal Grammar Model refers to the system of principles, conditions, and
rules that are properties or elements of all human languages. At the same time, each language has
grammatical rules that vary from one language to another. Thus, Chomky states that different
languages have a limited possibility of different grammatical structures (1975). Therefore, second
language learners base their second language acquisition on universal principles common to all
languages, and on the force of the particular rules of each language. All of those can be concluded that
as a human, especially as children, we have vary form of rules in language, in this case is second
language. The Competition Model is based in the assumption that forms of natural language are
created to communicate. Thus, second language learners are faced with the conflict between

The Chemistry And Development Of A Current Technology Essay
Demonstrate understanding of the chemistry used in the development of a current technology
In this assessment I have chosen to research pharmaceuticals as a material that has been developed in
the last twenty years. This is a report that will demonstrate my understanding of the chemistry of the
material. In this report I shall include the historical development, the properties of the material that
makes it useful to society, whether there was experimentation or discoveries that led to its
development, any other notes and a personal opinion, and references to my findings.
The birth of the modern pharmaceutical industry trace back to two sources being apothecaries that
moved into production of drugs like morphine in the 19th century and dye and chemical companies
that established medical applications for the starting products in the 1880s and the research labs that
made it possible.
What is morphine? Morphine is pain medication; called a narcotic sometimes. This particular
medication is used to treat minor pain to extreme pain. Morphine isn t used for short term pain after
surgery; the only exception is if before surgery you were taking morphine.
Morphine is used alot in clinical pain management, especially for post surgery pain and terminal
cancer pain. Morphine has many side effects in the body including reduction of pain, loss of hunger.
History:
In 1804, morphine was discovered when a German scientist named Friedrich Sertürner; dissolved

Case Study The Atlantic Division
A Divisional Previews The Atlantic Division 1. Boston Celtics With the big offseason acquisition of
Al Horford, the Celtics are hoping to change their recent playoff history; the last two seasons have
been two one and done, getting swept by the Cavaliers and losing to the Hawks in six respectively. A
big hole that the previous two Celtics team had was at the center position. Night in and night out, the
center position was among the worst in terms of production. With Al Horford now on the roster that
hole is presumably filled. No longer will Celtics fans have to rely on the often out of shape Jared
Sullinger to bang down low against the much bigger, more athletic big men that opposing team s
possess. The presence of Horford also clarifies Kelly Olynyk s role with the team Prior to Horford s
arrival, Olynyk was in and out of the starting lineup, often splitting time with Sulliger. Being in a clear

My Vacation Experience
The most incredible summer that I would never forget began on June 22, 2016. It was about 4:30 in
the morning when my aunt and parents woke me up so we can catch our first flight at the Richmond
International Airport. This was my first time in nine years that I could go back to China to visit my
relatives and grandparents. On this trip, I was going with my Aunt Ying and my grandmother because
my parents were too busy with work to take me. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the Richmond
International Airport, it was too late to board our flight, so we had to be rerouted to our destination.
From there, we encountered more problems. For instance, the flight to Dallas Fort Worth was too full
so they had to reroute us to the Chicago O Hare Airport. When we arrived in Chicago, we luckily had
just enough time to catch our flight to Beijing, which was fifteen hours! After an extensive flight, we
arrived at the Beijing Capital Airport and we realized that the aircraft we came on arrived a lot later
than it was scheduled so we had no time to get to our connecting flight. However, American Airlines
offered us FREE hotels to spend the night and told us that our new rerouted flight will be on Air
China, which would be departing the next morning. We came into the airport early the next morning
realizing that the whole place was crowded with people checking in bags and people standing in line
for security checks. After an hour or two of trying to get through security and check in, we

Really Good At Heart Quotes
In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart. This is a quote that finished
the play of Anne Frank. I believe that Anne Frank had a good heart despite people s decisions because
of what she stated in not only this quote but also throughout the play. This quote reveals that Anne
Frank was a gentle person and thought that people should be forgiven for their actions. During this
time in history many bad things were going on. Not only was it countries fighting against and with
each other, but it was also the Holocaust. Even though these people who were participating were doing
bad things, they could still be good at heart. Anne Frank tells us her opinion of thinking that by saying

John Proctor Is a Flawed Man. How, in Spite of This, Does...
John Proctor is a flawed man. How, in spite of this, does Arthur Miller develop his character so that
we admire him more and more as the play progresses?
John Proctor, throughout the play, undergoes a personal dilemma. He earns our respect during the play
by making some moral choices. Towards the end of the play he follows the courage of his convictions
but ironically has to play the ultimate price.
Miller introduces a complex character. John Proctor, in the directors notes, comes across as a well

When Mary Warren reveals that she knows about Proctors and Abigail s affair, before Elizabeth is

Mary knows his secret his attitude changes towards her. At this point in the play Proctor acknowledges
that all might have to come public. This is a significant moment as he s willing to blacken his good
name in order to save his wife. Proctor comes to term that Mary may be the answer to their problem.
The marshal arrives and takes Elizabeth away for witchcraft. Proctor demands that Mary Warren goes

Theme Of Bartleby The Scrivener
When looking back at older works of literature, a person can always draw parallels between the
lessons found written during that time period and the current time period. This is due to the fact that
these themes are easily applicable on an individual level no matter what the current society is like.
Herman Melville s Bartleby the Scrivener is no exception with its lessons primarily focusing on
isolation, the desire to avoid confrontation, and compassion. Through closer examination of these
three themes, it becomes obvious to the reader just how necessary these ideals are in today s society.
The narrator describes Bartleby throughout the book as being behind a screen (Melville 19) and also
behind many windows (Melville 19). This is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He s a moderately successful lawyer, and seems to have gained his professional standing just by being
dependable, rather than outstanding or ambitious. As far as the reader knows, the narrator lives alone,
but is not extraordinarily lonely, and has lived a markedly normal life. The narrator does not have any
major conflicts in life besides his strong desire to avoid confrontation. The narrator backs down from
all confrontation, and rationalizes it rather ridiculously; this shows us that he is unaware of his own
weakness in this area. This inability to confront problems directly creates the initial problem with
Bartleby. The narrator will go as far as convincing himself that Bartleby is ill to avoid confronting
him. Although Bartleby s passiveness irritated the narrator, he continues to attempt to find reason for
Bartleby s bizarre actions (Melville 30). (Melville 30) He even fails to force Bartleby out of the office
when Bartleby ceases completing his work, and instead moves his practice to another building in order
to escape conflict. This shows the reader how necessary confrontation is, especially when in a
leadership position. An effective team requires work and effort from all members. There is an
understood covenant between an employee and an employer and when one side breaks this agreement,
conflict arises. Confrontation is essentially correction; which is necessary in achieving any goal

Prioritizing roofing system candidates
If you have the responsibility to plan and select an inventory of roofing areas to receive roof coatings,
the timing and priority of the installation is an important step. First you need information, to make
better informed decisions to identify the best roof section candidates and avoid an installation window
that could lower the coating service life or substantially increase the roof system preparation. All
buildings age and deteriorate. Its also common to have deferred maintenance, a flaw in roof design
and or original construction that has impacted the roofing system performance. No surprise that
known problems will also add risk factors to a roof coating installation. A best practice is to start with
a method to maintain good records for the as built roof system data, defect histories, leak calls and

A Framework for a GSMSmart Energy Management Meter System for Effective Measurement,
Management and Communication of Power and its Data in a Developing Grid
Abstract
Energy measurement and management are amongst the major grid challenges and research efforts
have been geared towards addressing them. The emergence of smart meters in consonance with the
smart grid concept is as a result of these efforts. This paper explores the integration of Energy
Management and Control System (EMCS) technologies into smart meters to mitigate energy wastages
and ensure energy accountability. The integrated system presented in this paper leverages on the GSM
technology to provides a tripod communication between the meter, utility and the consumers. Results
from the system prototype show that the system offers the consumer the opportunity to make personal
energy budgets in line with the energy conservation, provides more consumption details than the
traditional meters and provides for the utility a better management platform of the consumer
component of the grid.
Keywords: energy, consumption, measurement, management, metering

Abraham Lincoln On Leadership By Donald T.
Abraham Lincoln
America has had amazing leaders that have impacted our history in an effective way. Being in charge
of the nation may seem as if it is not difficult job because people may think the president can do as
they please and take advantage of their power. Our 16th president Abraham Lincoln showed us that
not all presidents are corrupt. Our president Lincoln demonstrated to us that there are leaders that are
there to lead for the people and not for themselves. Abraham Lincoln was amazing leader with
characteristics such as executions of result oriented and courageous actions. While his caring and
integral personality allowed him to accomplish a successful presidency that is still talked about today.
First of all, Lincoln was a great president that had a lot on his plate when he was in office. He was in
command when the bloodiest American war was happening and he managed to take us out of our state
of trouble with quick problem solving skills. In the book The Classic Bestseller Lincoln on Leadership
by Donald T. Phillips it states, Lincoln demonstrated extraordinary perseverance in the face of
seemingly insurmountable obstacles and interpersonal clashes which can explain how Lincoln stood
up for his country and made decisions under pressure which had the potential to disappoint many
considering the divided state of the union (Phillips). The rejection he faced from his own people and
his determination to know what was going on at all times resolved many

Propagand Like A Good Neighbor
Like A Good Neighbor Our society has used different forms of advertisements, commercials, and
propaganda since even before the 20th century. Propaganda is described to be information that is
usually misleading or uninformed, that tends to be used to promote political views or to persuade a
consumer into buying a sellers product. According to Ann McClintock, propaganda is the systematic
effort to influence peoples opinions, to win them over to a certain view or side. Overtime with the
advancements of technology, forms of propaganda and advertisements have changed, but the end
result has always been the same, as well as the goal to get the consumer to buy the goods. There are
many propaganda techniques that advertisers use. Name Calling, Glittering Generalities, Transfer,
Testimonial, Plain Folks, Card Stacking, and Bandwagon are the seven propaganda techniques.
Companies use these techniques to persuade people to buy their products and to trust the company.
For example, in the commercial from the insurance company State Farm, the commercial starts off
with the husband on the phone with Jake, who is a representative from State Farm, and the husbands
wife walking in at three in the morning astounded and concerned as to why he would ever be talking
to anyone on the phone that late at night. The clock on the wall is very visible behind the wife, making
sure the audience knows that it is three in the morning. The viewer can then see as the wife takes the
phone from her

What Plato Meant by the Form of the Good Essay
What Plato Meant by the Form of the Good The basis of Plato s philosophy is his theory of Ideas, or
doctrine of Forms while the notion of Forms is essential to Plato s philosophy, over years of
philosophical study, it has been difficult to understand what these Forms are supposed to be, and the
purpose of their existence. When examining Plato s forms and evaluating the theory, some conclusions
have proved to be unclear and unanswered. However, the doctrine of Forms is essential to Plato s
philosophy. Plato came to his view of the Forms based on two premises: first that knowledge cannot
come through the senses; and second, we do nevertheless manage to know things in mathematics, for
instance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The slaves know nothing of reality except the one of which they are presented as the Sun, which
represents the Form of the Good is outside the cave but the slaves have no idea of its existence. One
day a prisoner is released from his shackles and goes up to the upper part of the cave and sees the fire
and the objects, which are casting the shadows, and he also sees the sun and is blinded by this higher
form of reality. Plato believed that the way to find or realise true reality is not through gathering
empirical evidence or through deep scientific tests such as studying the shadows to determine what
they are. But rather that in order to break the chains we can only do so through inner contemplation or
philosophical investigation in order to ascend out of the cave and see the sun which gives light to all
the forms. For every sense object in the empirical world, there is a corresponding perfect Form. These
Forms are non physical, permanent, eternal, and invisible. How then, you may ask, can one ever know
of the Forms if they cannot be known by sense perception? Plato answers this question by stating that
the Forms are known in thought. They are the objects of thought, therefore, whenever you are
thinking, you are thinking of Forms. An important point to note about the Forms is the idea of
permanence as the Forms are forever unchanging. An

The Hardware Setup Of Dfig System Essay
Experimental Setup Introduction
This chapter explores the hardware setup of DFIG system. It also shows experimental results and the
performance of this system under different types of controllers. The experimental work is divided into
three parts. The first part is emulating the wind turbine characteristic using PMSM. The second part is
implementing the GSC connected to the grid and maintaining its DC link voltage constant under
different disturbances. The final part is controlling the DFIG to extract power from the wind emulator
and transfer it to the utility grid. General Hardware Overview
The simulation results illustrated in the previous chapter is experimentally verified in this chapter. To
achieve this objective, a hardware wind turbine emulator is built in the laboratory and the DFIG
system control is implemented to extract power from the wind emulator. Figure 5.1 and Figure 5. 2
show an overview of the DFIG WECS setup. The system comprises the following: A wound rotor
doubly fed induction machine. The stator of this machine is connected to the electrical grid directly.
Rotor side converter which is PWM three phase converter connected to the machine rotor terminals.
This control of this converter has two tasks as follows: Control the rotor current which means control
the stator currents as illustrated in chapter 3. Extract maximum power from wind turbine emulation
system. Grid side converter which is PWM three phase converter connected to the grid through an

The Creature s Narrative In Frankenstein, By Mary Shelly
The Creature s narrative in Frankenstein , by Mary Shelly, reveals an array of information about the
Creature as a character, and his true intentions. This narrative gives us an in depth view of the
Creature s life and experiences up and until this point in the novel. The Creature s desire for a
companion reveals and conveys a variety of romantic characteristics. His request for a companion is
not only justified, but is also Victor s responsibility to him. Victor s abandonment of the Creature
forced him to live a confused and lonely life as an outcast, and because of this it is Victor s duty to
right his wrongs. The Creature s narrative begins at the moment he awoke, and continues up until the
moment he frames Justine for the murder of William. The creature describes how he learned all that he
knew from his travels and experiences. He explains how he learned that fire provides warmth, but is
painful to touch, that food is better when cooked, and that men not only fear him, but are violent
towards him. During his early days he is almost like a child learning things for the first time, except he

life he deserves to be shown some pity and compassion. By creating a mate for the Creature he is not

The Assessment Of A Community s Decision For Real Initiative
According to Monmonier (1996), those who do have Internet and GIS accessibility face the potential
to be placed in a vulnerable position. He believes that the public who is armed with a GIS but lacking
the savvy to use the system appropriately becomes vulnerable to sarcastic attacks from site advocates .
Meaning, that a community s opinion may not be taken seriously or may be misrepresented in the eyes
of policymakers because the people in that community may not be using the GIS software correctly,
therefore they do not comprehend the data that is being presented to them in a GIS platform. This
connects to another complication, that the general public may not have the basic training requirements
needed to properly understand GIS software. Referring back to Carver, et al (2001), one of the issues
they encountered during the observation of the Neighbourhood Initiatives Foundation s Planning for
Real initiative was a general lack of familiarity with GIS software, especially from older age groups of
manual trade.
The solution to these issues cannot be resolved in a short period of time as these are mainly socio
economic complications, however, attainable solutions are present. As far as GIS comprehensive, this
will become less of an issue as more people become familiar with using computers and maps through
work and education (Carver et al, 2001). As mentioned earlier in Baker s (2005) article, strides are
being made to teach K 12 students Web GIS, for digital learning

HPV vaccine will only reduce additional cancer cases and other HPV related sequelae such as
carcinoma intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) 2 and CIN 3. These are the precancerous lesions. The

Brazil And Its Impact On America
Brazil is located in Eastern South America and borders the Atlantic Ocean. Brazil is very comparable
to the USA, being only slightly smaller in size. The economy is well developed in agriculture, mining,
manufacturing, and service sectors, and it has an expanding middle class. Brazil was under Portuguese
rule until it gained independence in 1822 and maintained a monarchical system of government until
the abolition of slavery in 1888.
The African Diaspora is based upon a globalized notion of blackness and is a community and identity
for those who identify as black and see relation between themselves and others in the Black Diaspora.
Brazil ties into the African Diaspora because millions of enslaved Africans were dispersed in Brazil.
Brazil was the center of the European slave trade before it gained independence in 1822. Rio de
Janeiro and Bahia had more slaving voyages than any other port in all of Europe. Brazil was
consistently the largest home for slaves between North America and South America. Instead of
encouraging natural reproduction to increase the slave population in Brazil, masters choose to work
their slaves to death and buy a new replacement because they were cheap. Four and a half million
enslaved Africans were taken to Brazil and even today, just 125 years after slavery was abolished,
Brazil is still struggling with a form of control sex trafficking.
The African Diaspora has created a large culture of African Brazilians in Brazil. Many Africans did

Mutual funds have opened new vistas to investors and imparted much needed liquidity to the system.
III. MUTUAL FUNDS: STRUCTURE IN INDIA
Mutual Funds in India follow a 3 tier structure. There is a Sponsor (the First tier), who thinks of
starting a mutual fund. The Sponsor approaches the Securities amp;Exchange Board of India (SEBI),
which are the market regulator and also the regulator for mutual funds.
Not everyone can start a mutual fund. SEBI checks whether the person is ofintegrity, whether he has
enough experience in the financial sector, his net worth etc. Once SEBI is convinced, the sponsor
creates a Public Trust (the Second tier) as per the Indian Trusts Act, 1882. Trusts have no legal identity
in India and cannot enter into contracts, hence the Trustees are the people authorized to act on behalf
of the Trust. Contracts are entered into in the name of the Trustees. Once the Trust is created, it is
registered with SEBI after which this trust is known as the mutual fund. IV. GROWTH IN MUTUAL

Weaknesses Of Democracy In Spain
Analyze the reasons for the weaknesses and collapse of democracy between 1918 and 1939 in Spain
Democracy was a relatively unknown political system for the Spanish. Instead, Spain was typically
ruled by a monarchy or dictatorship, having only experienced democracy for a year in the 1870s. It
was only in 1931, when Spain attempted to reintroduce democracy. Although, the Second Spanish
Republic did not last very long, due to it s poor environment. The lack of experience of working
within a democratic system, the polarization of the Spanish populace, a high degree of fragmentation
within the pole, and the substantial level of inequality in Spain during this time period were all key
weaknesses that led to the collapse of democracy in Spain. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As a result of the recession, there was a large gap between the rich and the poor within Spain. Due to
this situation, the sustainability of democracy in Spain became questionable as the poor didn t trust the
wealthy and wanted to change things, creating a divide within Spain. The large structural barrier
between the two classes didn t allow the poor classes to move out of their wretched situation. Social
and economic structural problems were undoubtedly severe, the worst being the plight of the newly
two million landless farmworkers and their families, a plight made much more conflictive by the fact
that Spain was now a rapidly country with democratic mass mobilization. The low wages, limited
productivity and poor living conditions of four million more urban workers in the industry. This drove

A. One historical change that impacted men and women negative was when paid work shifted from
home and farm to mills and factories, shops and offices (Kimmel 156). Both women and men were
impacted with such a change because fathers spent more time away from their kids and left a lot of
child rearing was seen as women.
B. A second change that impacted the family in society was the divorce rate climbed since soldiers
returned from the Civil War (Kimmel 156 157). The divorce rate impacted the family because it
separated the custody of children; it impacted the way the children were being raised.

Arguments for gay and lesbian families is a concern for the sanctity of marriage is often accompanied
by a discomfort with the idea of gay and lesbian families, based on misinformation about the quality
of those relationships and their impact on children (Kimmel 184). Arguments that support gay and
lesbian families are mainly focused on having the same equal rights as heterosexuals. Many gay and
lesbian couples want to get married because of the benefits they acquire such as the right to inherit
from a spouse who dies without a will, the right to consult with doctors and make crucial decisions
(Kimmel 184). A meta analysis of social studies of gay and lesbian parenting suggests that children are
more accepting of homosexuality and maybe more likely to indicate a willingness to consider

Jamaic Out Of Many, One People
Jamaica: Out of Many, One People History of the Culture One would think that an island would have
a culture of its own with very little outside influence, however that is not the case with this island.
Located in the Caribbean Sea, Jamaica is rich in culture from its European and African history.
Jamaica was first populated by the Taino people, who were also called Arawaks, in AD 600. It was
then found by Christopher Columbus in 1492, and shortly thereafter became a Spanish Territory. A
decade later, the population was equally split between Spanish and slaves with a small percentage of
free blacks and the native Taino people. In 1655, the English army captured Jamaica and fifteen years
later, Jamaica formerly concedes to England. A decade later, the slaves, making up eighty four percent
of the population, decided to rebel. However, full emancipation from slavery happened in 1838,
almost a century later despite the gross population unbalance. Beginning in 1841, the island started
having more outside influence when the first indentured workers arrived from Africa, India, China,
Syria, Lebanon and the Mediterranean. In 1962, Jamaica gained full independence from Britain after
almost two decades of self government formation. The history and vast cultural influences of Jamaica
makes the country s motto of Out of many, One People ring true. (Mordecai Mordecai, 2001) Slavery

Death of General Wolfe Essay
Analysis of The Death of General Wolfe by Benjamin West
In 1770, artist Benjamin Wolfe completed what would become his most controversial and talked about
piece of artwork, an oil on canvas painting titled The Death of General Wolfe, the purpose of which
was to teach a moral lesson. The Death of General Wolfe portrays the Battle of Quebec, but more
specifically it details the moment when Major General James Wolfe was on his deathbed shortly after
the British had driven the French away in victory. Although this piece is considered to be historical

The fact that the clouds are passing by and opening can represent two things. The first is that it can be
a symbol of General Wolfe, and as the clouds pass over head, his soul will similarly pass over and die.
Second is that the passing clouds can be viewed as a sign of hope that the battle is now over and
people can live peacefully. One other piece of symbolism is the flag behind General Wolfe, which
serves as a directional force. Since it is pointed at both General Wolfe and the sky, it signifies the fact
that Wolfe s soul will go up onto Heaven. The colors in this piece are instrumental in moving the eye
across the piece and drawing attention to specific parts of the piece. For instance, for the most part, the
colors that are used are dark. However, to emphasize General Wolfe, the focal point in the middle, his
outfit is painted in a brighter red and yellow and the ground beneath him is light as well. Also, in order
to allow the eye to glide across the painting almost all of the soldier s uniforms are red, creating
rhythm. One solider, who is apparently rushing into see Wolfe, is painted in green, which is the
complimentary color to red. The use of complimentary colors brings the eyes attention to the panicked
solider, emphasizing the overall sense of urgency in the piece. The piece is also well balanced and
uses appropriate scales and proportions. Overall I think West was successful in his piece. I admire the

Minnesota s Glaciers
The Wisconsin Glaciation of Minnesota
A glacier is a large body of ice that moves slowly across land and are formed by there being a higher
snow gain rather than a snow melt. Glaciers move by a small amount of ice melting and the glacier
sliding. Glaciers can help and destroy the landscape in front of them but they can also shape the land
into something amazing. Glaciers were once present in Minnesota thousands of years ago and played a
massive role on the landscape we live on today, and as they melted they left behind large amounts of
water and formations. The glaciation is very confusing to those who don t know about glaciers so here
is some background information. The last glacial advance started about 75,000 years ago and the last

Outwash and till are similar but different at the same time and this is why they are both deposited by
glaciers, but the way they are deposited is what makes them different. Till is simply the sediment left
by the ice, outwash is deposited by the running water coming off of the melting glacier. Because water
can sort sediment, and ice cannot, that is why the till is unsorted. Sorting just means when the rocks
are sorted by size, bigger pieces together on the bottom, smaller pieces together on top. Glaciers are
constructive and deconstructive they are deconstructive because they tear up land and the glacier does
not stop for anything but it is easy to avoid. Glaciers erode the land and create landforms such as
kames, eskers, and drumlins those terms will be explained a little bit later. Glaciers create valleys by
shearing away the mountainside and moving it away. Some of the landforms that glaciers produce are
drumlins, terminal moraine, outwash plain, and an erratic. Drumlins are elongated, teardrop shaped
hills of rock, sand, and gravel that formed under moving glacier ice. A terminal moraine is where the
glacier reaches its max and starts receding making a deposit of till. An outwash plain is a flat area
made by meltwater carrying outwash from the leading edge of the glacier. An erratic is a rock or
boulder carried from a place where the Rock is common to an area where the rock is not

A Strategic Planning And Management System Essay
Introduction
Organizations and industries today have undergone rapid and accelerating change, creating uncertainty
and complexity in the business environment. Markets are increasingly competitive and pressured to do
things faster, better and cheaper. They are challenged to develop new organizational characteristics
such as expertise and innovation in order to quickly respond to changes in technology and customer
preferences. Organizations can no longer rely on traditional analytical approach to understand their
industry. Nowadays, intangible assets are just as important as physical assets and the Balanced
Scorecard (BSC) is an innovative approach that considers the financial and non financial perspectives
in determining the performance level of an organization.
Question 1
The BSC is a strategic planning and management system designed to translate an organization s
mission and vision into a comprehensive set of objectives, performance measures and
implementations in order to achieve business goals. The BSC retains financial metrics as a measure
for company success, but supplements these metrics from three additional perspectives customer,
internal process, and learning and growth (Kaplan and Norton 1992, 1993). Financial data are
analyzed to understand financial performance of the organization. Customer feedback is used to gather
customer satisfaction on the products or services. Internal business processes are evaluated by
assessing quality, productivity and innovation.

The Trojan War Facts
Trojan War Myth/Fact Tell me, O Muse, of that ingenious hero who traveled far and wide after he had
sacked the famous town of Troy. (Butler 1835 1902) The epic poem The Iliad and The Odyssey, is the
story of the Greek struggle to rescue Queen Helen from the Trojan captors. Which led to an all out war
between the Achaean Greeks and the Trojans, the name of this war is called the Trojan War. The
Trojan War was a legendary conflict between the early Greeks and the people of Troy in western
Anatolia. In the original story, Paris, son of the Trojan king, ran off with Helen, wife of Menelaus.
Menelaus demanded to have her back, but the Trojans refused, so his brother Agamemnon built a
wooden horse that he took into battle with him and led a Greek ... Show more content on

The war apparently lasted ten years, when the Greeks finally withdrew, leaving behind a large wooden
horse with a raiding party concealed inside. A man named Sinon was left behind and he convinced the
Trojans to bring the horse inside the city. When the Trojans bought the horse into the city the party of
Greeks opened up the horse and raided the city. Men were massacred, and women carried off. It also
states that the Gods found the war to be so interesting that they participated themselves, and helped
the Greeks take the city of Troy. No one really knows if this war was a myth or a fact due to the fact
that it is presented only briefly in an epic poem. In order to find evidence of the war, historians have
gone to the site of where the war would ve taken place and excavated artifacts to prove wither the
Trojan was a myth or a fact. But their research started off from the very beginning, which was the
source of the Trojan War

Innovative Inventions During The 19th-20th Century
The creation of innovative inventions was rampant during the 19th 20th century, throughout and after
the Industrial Revolution. These new creations completely altered daily life at the time and made a
huge impact on our work and home life, how we entertain ourselves, and what form of transportation
we use to move around. Some technological inventions that impacted our forms of transportation were
the helicopter, jet, and 3 pointed seatbelts. Helicopters and jets impacted the way people (usually rich)
traveled. These forms of transportation were faster than airplanes and more efficient. They were also
smaller and were important during combat, especially when sky raids were conducted and speed, as
well as, reliability was of top priority in order to get the job done. As for 3 pointed seatbelts, this
invention was a very important feature ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They all helped people get work done quicker and more conveniently than by traditional methods.
Microwaves allowed women to take less time in the kitchen by heating up food in a flash unlike
cooking or grilling, and producing similar effects. Printers and computers were great for work life
since they allowed people to organize important documents, send and fax letters, make and print
posters, and do so much more with the click of a mouse or the press of a button. Typing and printing
was much swifter and easier than writing things down by hand. Video tape recorders also proved to be
beneficial, especially in journalism fields. Used as a form of work and entertainment, people could
capture important events and memories, exactly as they happened through the footage. This invention
was also used as surveillance and made catching criminals and perpetrators easier and more
legitimate, similar to how people use videos today as proof of crimes

European Colonisation In Australia Research Paper
Was European colonisation a positive thing overall?
Asking the question was European colonisation positive or negative? Isn t straight forward. One thing
that must be decided is who s perspective should be used? The only fair way to judge this without bias
is to use all perspectives equally and set the base line of judgment with factual evidence and basic
Principles of equality. The two primary perspectives are categories of the European settlers and the
indigenous Australians. The reason these two should be emphasised as categories and not one
perspective is they are comprised of thousands of people and each person will have a slightly varied
view. Although the focus will be be on the separate nations and categories viewpoints with variation
will be explored especially those that are drastically varied compared to the rest of the category.
The first of the two primary perspectives, the European settlers, is commonly seen as the unfair and
cruel side, and not without reason. When the European settlers first encountered the ... Show more

Europe learnt a vast amount about seasons, weather, and crop farming in different places around the
world when the settled in Australia. They learnt that plants need very specific conditions to grow that
could not be met in Australia, and they were forced to adopt new plants from the area. Although well
known European crops did not cope well with the excessive heat and lack of rain, there were
alternative crops in Australia that they would have to take advantage

The exploration history of the McAra property provided here was compiled from Randall (2007), Robinson (2006), Anonymous (2003), Anderson (2005), and Pringle (2016). 1910 1982: Early Exploration Exploration in the region started in 1910s and was focused on Ag Co veins, with no significant silver deposits haven been discovered in the McAra area. Copper zinc (VMS type?) mineralized zones were discovered in Archean volcanic rocks in the southern part of North Williams Township by Metron Explorations Limited in 1970. The mineralized zone and surrounding area were evaluated with a HLEM survey and drilled with 2 DDHs (totaling 61.3 m) that did not intercept significantly mineralized rocks (Willars, 1971). In 1982, perceived Witwatersrand type gold deposit potential caused a major staking rush in the area, with exploration focused on conglomeratic units in the Paleoproterozoic Lorrain Formation of the Cobalt Group that forms the upper part of the Huronian Supergroup. Exploration was unsuccessful and the claims were quickly abandoned. Mid 1980s: Falconbridge Nickel Falconbridge Nickel explored for base metal VMS deposits in the mid 1980s in the nearby Sheard, Browning and Amyot townships. The highest amplitude conductors interpreted from airborne data were evaluated with ground geophysical surveys and drill tested with poor results. 1996 1997: Roy Annett Roy Annett discovered the rusty zones 400 m (Annett #2) and 500 m (Annett #1) to the northeast of McAra Lake in 1996. There are several types of dieters; I am discussing three types of dieters. • 4. Finding Truth In The Allegory Of The Cave By Plato The Allegory of the cave is a story written by Plato an ancient philosopher who presented this work in The Republic to describe the truth about reality. Plato believed that reality and the truth are both hard to find. One must find knowledge of himself, discovering truth that is a process and to make known self understanding. Plato wrote this story as a discussion between two greek philosophers, Socrates and Glaucon. Socrates asks Glaucon what would it be like if people lived in the dark where all they could only see shadows from the fire behind them. One of Plato s first points found in The Allegory of the Cave is that the pursuit of truth grants man knowledge of himself. Man can never force someone into recognizing light and or truth . Socrates says to Glaucon, And supposed once more, that he is reluctantly dragged up a steep and rugged ascent, and held fast until he s forced into the presence of the sun himself, is he not likely to be pained and irritated? (Plato 3). Once someone is introduced the light for the first time it will be difficult to understand truth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It takes both time and effort. Finding truth can be hard and could be hidden in the deepest darkest of places. In this quote , Socrates says to Glaucon, He will require to grow accustomed to the sight of the upper world. And first he will see shadows best, next the reflections of me and other objects in the water, and then the objects themselves; then he will gaze upon the light of the moon and the stars and the spangled heaven. And he will see the sky and stars by night better than the sun or the light of the sun by day (Plato 3). It takes time to see truth, but once one does they will be shocked at what comes with it. Obviously, maturing takes time and more important experience. Plato already shared with readers that the truth journey must be a personal one. Therefore there is no set way to gain knowledge, thus, man cannot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not only was I relatively unfamiliar with the subject matter when I skimmed throughout as my parents peered over my shoulder, but all of us were shocked that my first college reading assignment would be a graphic novel. My mother loves reading, but she is older and a bit traditional in some ways; initially she was quite disappointed. I remember her whispering to my dad, Why would they send a comic book? , but as an open minded person she ended up reading the book before I managed to and warned me that although the novel was interesting it was quite a handful. They communicate with their parents. Furthermore, children and parents interact with each other using a language that we often call the first language or mother tongue. At an early age, children are only learning one language that is the mother tongue. By age and speech development, children improve to acquire a second language from the school or the environment around them. In terms of speed of langgauge acquisition, children are factorized by both the child and the child s learning environment. Therefore, it is important to understand how children acquire second language. This paper is provided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They further state that accompanied by the loss of their first language, have really replaced the first language with the second language. 3. Models for Second Language Acquisition Some linguistic models try to explain the development of second language acquisition. The three most common models are (1) the Universal Grammar Model, (2) the Competition Model, and (3) the Monitor Model. The Universal Grammar Model refers to the system of principles, conditions, and rules that are properties or elements of all human languages. At the same time, each language has grammatical rules that vary from one language to another. Thus, Chomky states that different languages have a limited possibility of different grammatical structures (1975). Therefore, second language learners base their second language acquisition on universal principles common to all languages, and on the force of the particular rules of each language. All of those can be concluded that as a human, especially as children, we have vary form of rules in language, in this case is second language. The Competition Model is based in the assumption that forms of natural language are created to communicate. Thus, second language learners are faced with the conflict between ... The Chemistry And Development Of A Current Technology Essay Demonstrate understanding of the chemistry used in the development of a current technology In this assessment I have chosen to research pharmaceuticals as a material that has been developed in the last twenty years. This is a report that will demonstrate my understanding of the chemistry of the material. In this report I shall include the historical development, the properties of the material that makes it useful to society, whether there was experimentation or discoveries that led to its development, any other notes and a personal opinion, and references to my findings. It was about 4:30 in the morning when my aunt and parents woke me up so we can catch our first flight at the Richmond International Airport. This was my first time in nine years that I could go back to China to visit my relatives and grandparents. On this trip, I was going with my Aunt Ying and my grandmother because my parents were too busy with work to take me. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the Richmond International Airport, it was too late to board our flight, so we had to be rerouted to our destination. From there, we encountered more problems. For instance, the flight to Dallas Fort Worth was too full so they had to reroute us to the Chicago O Hare Airport. When we arrived in Chicago, we luckily had just enough time to catch our flight to Beijing, which was fifteen hours! After an extensive flight, we arrived at the Beijing Capital Airport and we realized that the aircraft we came on arrived a lot later than it was scheduled so we had no time to get to our connecting flight. However, American Airlines offered us FREE hotels to spend the night and told us that our new rerouted flight will be on Air China, which would be departing the next morning. Theme Of Bartleby The Scrivener When looking back at older works of literature, a person can always draw parallels between the lessons found written during that time period and the current time period. This is due to the fact that these themes are easily applicable on an individual level no matter what the current society is like. Herman Melville s Bartleby the Scrivener is no exception with its lessons primarily focusing on isolation, the desire to avoid confrontation, and compassion. As far as the reader knows, the narrator lives alone, but is not extraordinarily lonely, and has lived a markedly normal life. The narrator does not have any major conflicts in life besides his strong desire to avoid confrontation. The narrator backs down from all confrontation, and rationalizes it rather ridiculously; this shows us that he is unaware of his own weakness in this area. This inability to confront problems directly creates the initial problem with Bartleby. The narrator will go as far as convincing himself that Bartleby is ill to avoid confronting him. Although Bartleby s passiveness irritated the narrator, he continues to attempt to find reason for Bartleby s bizarre actions (Melville 30). (Melville 30) He even fails to force Bartleby out of the office when Bartleby ceases completing his work, and instead moves his practice to another building in order to escape conflict. This shows the reader how necessary confrontation is, especially when in a leadership position. An effective team requires work and effort from all members. Propaganda is described to be information that is usually misleading or uninformed, that tends to be used to promote political views or to persuade a consumer into buying a sellers product. According to Ann McClintock, propaganda is the systematic effort to influence peoples opinions, to win them over to a certain view or side. Overtime with the advancements of technology, forms of propaganda and advertisements have changed, but the end result has always been the same, as well as the goal to get the consumer to buy the goods. There are many propaganda techniques that advertisers use. Name Calling, Glittering Generalities, Transfer, Testimonial, Plain Folks, Card Stacking, and Bandwagon are the seven propaganda techniques. Companies use these techniques to persuade people to buy their products and to trust the company. For example, in the commercial from the insurance company State Farm, the commercial starts off with the husband on the phone with Jake, who is a representative from State Farm, and the husbands wife walking in at three in the morning astounded and concerned as to why he would ever be talking to anyone on the phone that late at night. When examining Plato s forms and evaluating the theory, some conclusions have proved to be unclear and unanswered. However, the doctrine of Forms is essential to Plato s philosophy. One day a prisoner is released from his shackles and goes up to the upper part of the cave and sees the fire and the objects, which are casting the shadows, and he also sees the sun and is blinded by this higher form of reality. Plato believed that the way to find or realise true reality is not through gathering empirical evidence or through deep scientific tests such as studying the shadows to determine what they are. But rather that in order to break the chains we can only do so through inner contemplation or philosophical investigation in order to ascend out of the cave and see the sun which gives light to all the forms. For every sense object in the empirical world, there is a corresponding perfect Form. These Forms are non physical, permanent, eternal, and invisible. How then, you may ask, can one ever know of the Forms if they cannot be known by sense perception? Plato answers this question by stating that the Forms are known in thought. They are the objects of thought, therefore, whenever you are thinking, you are thinking of Forms. • 27. The Assessment Of A Community s Decision For Real Initiative According to Monmonier (1996), those who do have Internet and GIS accessibility face the potential to be placed in a vulnerable position. He believes that the public who is armed with a GIS but lacking the savvy to use the system appropriately becomes vulnerable to sarcastic attacks from site advocates . Meaning, that a community s opinion may not be taken seriously or may be misrepresented in the eyes of policymakers because the people in that community may not be using the GIS software correctly, therefore they do not comprehend the data that is being presented to them in a GIS platform. This connects to another complication, that the general public may not have the basic training requirements needed to properly understand GIS software. Referring back to Carver, et al (2001), one of the issues they encountered during the observation of the Neighbourhood Initiatives Foundation s Planning for Real initiative was a general lack of familiarity with GIS software, especially from older age groups of manual trade. The solution to these issues cannot be resolved in a short period of time as these are mainly socio economic complications, however, attainable solutions are present. As far as GIS comprehensive, this will become less of an issue as more people become familiar with using computers and maps through work and education (Carver et al, 2001). • 30. Brazil And Its Impact On America Brazil is located in Eastern South America and borders the Atlantic Ocean. Brazil is very comparable to the USA, being only slightly smaller in size. The economy is well developed in agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and service sectors, and it has an expanding middle class. Brazil was under Portuguese rule until it gained independence in 1822 and maintained a monarchical system of government until the abolition of slavery in 1888. The African Diaspora is based upon a globalized notion of blackness and is a community and identity for those who identify as black and see relation between themselves and others in the Black Diaspora. Brazil ties into the African Diaspora because millions of enslaved Africans were dispersed in Brazil. Brazil was the center of the European slave trade before it gained independence in 1822. Rio de Janeiro and Bahia had more slaving voyages than any other port in all of Europe. Brazil was consistently the largest home for slaves between North America and South America. Instead of encouraging natural reproduction to increase the slave population in Brazil, masters choose to work their slaves to death and buy a new replacement because they were cheap. Jamaic Out Of Many, One People Jamaica: Out of Many, One People History of the Culture One would think that an island would have a culture of its own with very little outside influence, however that is not the case with this island. Located in the Caribbean Sea, Jamaica is rich in culture from its European and African history. Jamaica was first populated by the Taino people, who were also called Arawaks, in AD 600. It was then found by Christopher Columbus in 1492, and shortly thereafter became a Spanish Territory. A decade later, the population was equally split between Spanish and slaves with a small percentage of free blacks and the native Taino people. In 1655, the English army captured Jamaica and fifteen years later, Jamaica formerly concedes to England. A decade later, the slaves, making up eighty four percent of the population, decided to rebel. However, full emancipation from slavery happened in 1838, almost a century later despite the gross population unbalance. Beginning in 1841, the island started having more outside influence when the first indentured workers arrived from Africa, India, China, Syria, Lebanon and the Mediterranean. In 1962, Jamaica gained full independence from Britain after almost two decades of self government formation. One other piece of symbolism is the flag behind General Wolfe, which serves as a directional force. Since it is pointed at both General Wolfe and the sky, it signifies the fact that Wolfe s soul will go up onto Heaven. The colors in this piece are instrumental in moving the eye across the piece and drawing attention to specific parts of the piece. For instance, for the most part, the colors that are used are dark. However, to emphasize General Wolfe, the focal point in the middle, his outfit is painted in a brighter red and yellow and the ground beneath him is light as well. Because water can sort sediment, and ice cannot, that is why the till is unsorted. Sorting just means when the rocks are sorted by size, bigger pieces together on the bottom, smaller pieces together on top.
