Persuasive Essay On Drugs
Crafting a persuasive essay on the subject of drugs can be a challenging endeavor. The intricacies
lie not only in presenting a coherent and well-structured argument but also in navigating the
sensitive nature of the topic. Addressing the multifaceted aspects of drug use, abuse, and their
societal implications requires a comprehensive understanding of various perspectives, scientific
data, and ethical considerations.
One of the difficulties stems from the polarized opinions surrounding drug policies and their
impact on individuals and communities. Balancing the need for empathy and understanding with
the necessity for stringent measures can be a delicate task. Additionally, delving into the
psychological, physiological, and social repercussions of drug use demands thorough research
and critical analysis.
Moreover, the language and tone employed in such an essay play a crucial role in maintaining a
respectful and informed dialogue. Striking the right balance between persuasion and information
dissemination is challenging, as the essay must not only convey a compelling argument but also
foster a nuanced understanding of the issue at hand.
Furthermore, the continuous evolution of drug-related trends and policies adds an extra layer of
complexity. Staying abreast of the latest research findings, legislative changes, and societal
attitudes is imperative for crafting an essay that remains relevant and impactful.
In conclusion, writing a persuasive essay on the topic of drugs is a demanding task that requires a
thoughtful approach, meticulous research, and an adept handling of sensitive subject matter.
Despite its challenges, the process offers an opportunity for individuals to contribute
meaningfully to the ongoing discourse surrounding drug policies and their consequences.

Ordovician Life
For a long period, up till now, I loved the early life of earth. Kimberella,
Dickinsonia, and, later in time, Hylonomus were some of the creatures I studied.
To find out, I went online to look around. The first question I looked at, to me at
least, was the diversity of life in the early periods of life, specifically the
Ordovician. To find out the answer, we must go back in time, at the beginning of the
Ordovician in fact, to find out the answer. I started my research on this topic by
surfing the internet and looking at various websites until I found the perfect one. I
finally found an entire article on how the Ordovician period s life branched out. Next,
I wanted to find out information on the missing link between fish and early
amphibians.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this period there were volcanoes dotting the landscape of early Earth. Seems
inhospitable right? You are correct in a way, but there is life here, microscopic life,
but life nonetheless. Deep in the ocean, in the crushing depths, there are black
smokers, early versions of them, wafting out large amounts of heat and food. This is
where early life began, absorbing nutrients from the water. ( Proterozoic: Eukaryotes

What Was Galileo s Accomplishments
Success, is it determined on how you look, your health or your wealth? Galileo
was one of the most respected scientist in modern day science because of one
simple fact. The way you represent your work and represent yourself is what makes
up your success, but it starts with you. I once heard somewhere laziness is not
attractive and that you ve got to work towards your goals and this is a story about
someone on pushed these things to the extreme. Making revolutionary discoveries
that some only dreamed of Galileo did extraordinary things and pushed the limit of
science.

Galileo discovered the largest moon of Jupiter.

Not only that, but he was the one who made the scientific discovery that earth wasn t
the center of the rotating planets we and that and the other planets actually orbit
around the sun.
When Galileo came out with this discovery King George III wasn t happy and I don
t even know why.
What I do know is he blackmailed Galileo in saying If you don t retract your
statement you will be burned at the stake in a long painful death and some other scary
stuff.
And lastly he discovered how to convert math into a language. I don t really know
how they figured things out before, but this surely made it x10 easier. Honestly I don

Professional Behavior, Communication, Boundaries, And...
My field experience has been wonderful so far for the first semester. I have gained
valuable information for the last couple on months interning at my agency. For this
self evaluation I will be describing the1 3 and 6 9 competencies I set up at the
beginning of the semester and see if I have achieved these skills. I will also address
the growth and challenges I have come upon throughout this semester. For
competency one on processional and ethical practice I wanted to demonstrate having
a professional behavior, communication, boundaries, and writing skills throughout the
semester. I also wanted to provide integrity, competence, core values, services,
dignity, and worth in the agency and my clients. In addition being aware of the
mandating reporting, parental consent, and legal consent in the school setting. I feel
the growth in this competency I have gained a lot by the agency in proving lots of
training, group supervision, and individual supervision has not only broaden my
skills but have gained valuable knowledge of what to do in certain situations. For
some of the challenges I encounter at the beginning was learningabout mandating
reporting and how much work it goes into calling, summiting the paperwork all this
is a curial aspect when doing a CWS report. For example, when doing my first
mandated report my supervisor stayed and walk me through each step to make sure I
did it correctly which was wonderful and learned the right way to do a mandated
report.

Alan Turing Psychology
Psychology Throughout The Imitation Game Ostracism is very dangerous to a
person s health and can cause detrimental damage to themselves. Throughout the
movie The Imitation Game Alan Turing has been ostracized all of his life from in
school to even as an adult. Since he was much brighter than his peers in school and
enjoyed subjects like cryptography they considered him to be different from them
and did not acknowledge him except for Christopher Morcom who became his only
friend and first love. As an adult at work Turing was still ostracized because since he
was so used to being alone he didn t know how to properly socialize with people or
how to work in a group like he was supposed to working for Bletchley trying to solve

Being excluded or ignored by a group of people can be harmful to a person. It can
make someone feel that they are alone; that they do not have anyone to care for
them or to lean on it times of need. Being ostracized can make someone believe that
they do not belong or that no one cares about them, which can lead to low self
esteem and depression causing one to often question taking their own life.
Ostracism can cause one to go to extreme measures to gain attention such as;
bullying, becoming violent, self harm, homicidal, or suicidal. Everyone strives for
attention and is a basic need for living. People need to feel that they are loved and
that they belong. People are often ostracized for being different and not fitting in
with the crowd; however, instead of praised for being unique and different they are
excluded to feel worthless. This forces people to believe that they ought to conform
to society s standard in order to fit in and gain worth. People can be ostracized for
their religion, sexual orientation, sexuality, personality, brains, social class, and even
how they look. Like Alan Turing, many people are faced with ostracism because they
are different forcing them to feel like they have no option but to commit
Traffic Control And Congestion Control Essay
1. Increasing the router memory to infinite cannot control the congestion. Agree or
disagree? Elaborate briefly (60 100 words) Why is it true that route with infinite
memory does try to minimize congestion, this can simply get out of control and get
worse if the rate of incoming packets is far more than the outgoing packet and
especially if more incoming packet from multiple input line arriving at any given
router need the same output channel. This build up a queue and before other packet
reach the beginning of the queue they have already timeout prompting re
submission of duplicates building up the queue again leading to more congestion.
A lot of other factors are in play here, among these include router CPU and
bandwidth. 2. Compare the following: Flow Control vs Congestion Control
Congestion control basically states that a network device can transmit only a certain
number of packets and can not add more packets to a network until an
acknowledgement is received. Congestion control prevents too much data from
being injected into the network, causing links and switches to be overloaded Flow
control works by refusing new connections until congestion is resolved. In serial
transmissions, Xon/Xoff is used for flow control. It is a handshaking mechanism
that will keep a sender from sending data faster than a receiver can receive it. flow
control prevents senders from overrunning the capacity of the receivers Open loop
congestion control methods vs Closed Loop congestion

ABSTRACT: One atom thick sheet of carbon discovered this century is flaunted not
just for its electrical properties but also for its physical strength and flexibility. The
bonds between carbon atoms are well known as the strongest in nature, so a perfect
sheet of graphene should withstand just about anything, but to use it in real time
applications, we have to understand the useful strength of graphene. So for,
researchers have looked extensively at graphene s electronic properties and tensile
strength, nobody, had taken comprehensive measurements of its ability to withstand a
compressive load. We find that, counter to standard reasoning, graphene sheets with
Stone Thrower Wales (STW) defects are able to bear high compressive stressas
compared to pristine graphene. We show that this trend can be understood by
considering the critical bonds in the seven and five membered carbon rings which
bears the maximum compressive stress. Graphene with STW defects is stronger in
compressive strength point of view because they are able to better accommodate these
strained rings. Our results provide guidelines for designing graphene with STW
defects to obtain maximum compressive strength, so that we can get the benefit of this

Reflection On Aa Meeting
After my experience of attending an open AA meeting, I decided to continue
learning about alcohol addiction and how it affects family and/or friends by going
to an Al Anon meeting. In class we have touched upon how addiction affects not
just the individual, but all those involved in their lives. After the experience of the
AA meeting I was eager to see what would happen and be discussed in an Al Anon
meeting. Trying to find an open meeting was more difficult than when I was
looking for an AA meeting. In order to find one I went to the Al Anon website and
was then directed to the New Jersey website. I was very surprised to find that there
were only about ten total meetings around my immediate area. Toms River is a rather
large city and I would... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mostly all of the members of the meeting read a paragraph and then reflected on
what step meant for them now, why the felt it was important, and/or anything else
they wanted to say about it. I chose not to read aloud from the book when it was
my turn because I felt a little uncomfortable. Not everyone chose to read aloud, so
that helped me to feel more comfortable and not as out of place. There were a lot of
repeated reflections about how the members felt like they had to be the one to
take care of everything and everyone. They felt responsible for everyone s actions
and took responsibility if/when something went wrong. Also, there was discussion
on how step ten has helped group members to realize that in order for them to be
able to take care of anyone else, they had to be able to take care of themselves first.
This statement was one that is really important. It made me think about how that
concept is something that is always talked about in regards to being a social worker
and how it can be applied to everyone. Another topic brought up during the reading of
step ten was the pain and hurt of addiction. A couple of the women talked about how
addiction is very hard, not just for the person who has the addiction, but for family
and friends as well. They went on to say that for those who have not experienced it
really have no idea how it could affect you, even when you are not the addict. Some
of the women talked about how alcohol is all encompassing. When this was brought
up, I noticed other people in the room nodding their heads in agreement. Additionally,
a couple of the members discussed how much they have changed since coming to the
meetings, specifically how step ten has helped them in their

characteristics that make them agree with the essay by Alan Cheuse and the history

In The Alan Cheuse essay he begins by giving us the origin of the modern day short
story. Although the exact day is not known, we can trace the origins of the modern
day short story to the 19th century. Edgard Allan Poe began by creating fictional
stories that coincided with the growing popularity of entertainment, unlike the
traditional short stories that were folk tales who ended bringing light to a moral
dilemma or history of the world and gods (Cheuse 25). According to Alan Cheuse,

Abstract
New Community Jewish High School honors biology students conducted research on
damselflies using representative data provided by a previous class. Using the lincoln

The damselflies were caught at Lake Balboa in Encino. The materials the group
used include: Boots, a micropen, string, a compass, wooden stakes, paint, and
chalk. The group set up 26 quadrats and attempted to discover damselfly movement
patterns. Each quadrat was set up using either a flag or a stone marker. The
quadrat each damselfly was located in, was recorded and compared to the data of
the quadrats of the recaptures from sunday. Each quadrat is 2 meters on each side.
Each flag that marked a corner of a quadrat was marked by a letter or number, based
on where it was located. The class had a chart of the formation of the quadrats on
which they marked large objects such as bushes, and rocks. The class attempted to
catch damselflies, mark them, and after release them. Once caught, the damselfly
would be taken gently by the wing a marked with the micropen. The following data
was recorded: sex, quadrat caught, total body length, behavior. After completion, the
group returned on Sunday in order to attempt to recapture the

Dance In Contemporary Dance
Contemporary dance techniques
There is a lot of confusion when you are asking about the contemporary dance as a
lot of people even the dancers don t know what the actual dance form is. Actually,
the dance form changes from time to time so it is not easy to adapt as you have to
change with time. Every now and then there are new experiments and discoveries in
the field of contemporary dance. A lot of people and schools are there who claim to
have expertise on the contemporary dance but they usually teach other forms of
dance like ballroom, salsa or some jazz styles. So it is not about the dancing style but
shape you re in while your movement in dancing which indicates a proper technique
of contemporary dance.
So in the training, the focus must be on the positions and shape rather than the
styles while attending the classes to learn the contemporary style of dancing. Every
lesson will surprise you as it will be very different from the previously taken lesson.
These dancing classes are very good for the preparation of a huge range of
movements possible in a student like dynamics, various forms, and the qualities. That
is the only reason contemporary dancers are seen ... Show more content on

The major difference which draws a line between contemporary dance and other
dance techniques is the relaxed movement which you can see only in
contemporary dance. It has different names in different places, some call it Release
Technique . The dancing is very different from a gym workout as it can be done in
a very relaxed way and keeps you away from unnecessary tension. The execution of
movement is very essential while performing a contemporary dance as it enhances
the self awareness of the dancer. The dancing form allows the freedom of the well
being of a dancer rather than just some physical training exercises which help to
improve a dancer in both mind and body. Professional dancers love this technique a
lot as it is very pleasant to work
Support Refugee Services Of Texas And The Services
There is a critical need to support Refugee Services of Texas and the services it
provides to the local refugee community. Without these services many of this
community would not be able to navigate the state s social services as effectively nor
would they be able to support themselves financially upon their arrival in the country.
The absences of such services lead to a greater risk of these individuals falling victim
to poverty, unemployment, homelessness and social isolation.
In 2015, RST provided resettlement services to 1,524 asylees, parolees, refugees, and
survivors of trafficking with social integration needs. The ethnic breakdown of the
client population is: 66% Refugee, 23% Parolee, 7% Asylees, and 4% Survivors of

Gifted Hands is an inspirational novel based around the life of Ben Carson, from
his rugged upbringing in inner city Detroit to his position as director of pediatric

Carson displayed great determination and dedication from a young age. He thrived
to be ahead of his studies and went the extra mile for the well being of his

Throughout the auto biography Carson demonstrates an extraordinary amount of
trust and faith in the Lord. A pristine example of Carson s faith is portrayed before
a major chemistry final. Although Carson was unprepared, he laid the situation
before God and was able to miraculously score well in the exam. Carson lived a
Christ oriented life and the blessings were endless. His faithfulness demonstrated the
power in living in such a way.
Carson was no ordinary man. His intricate way of thinking was like no other. One of
the most obvious and well known achievement is his concept of incorporating lasers
in neurosurgery to nullify complexities faced whilst operating. He knew there was an
easier way and took the initiative to act upon his ideas. Comparing Carson s
accomplishments and initial circumstances serves as living proof that anyone can be
an influential figure in our society.
Carson s radiant demeanor shone throughout the course of his life. His pleasant
behavior and respect for others produced a very likable individual. Although there
were countless incidents where Carson could bad mouth white folk, he never resorted
to racial prejudice and whole heartedly believed in equality amongst everyone.
The problem with many of the intellectually talented is the mentality they withhold
which automatically grants them bragging rights. Carson on the other hand was a
silent achiever, very humble about his success
Essay on Alan Bennett Talking Heads
Alan Bennett Talking Heads
In Bennett s monologues the main character faces an important decision which will
affect the course of their lives. I will go on and explain in this essay, the play writer
s use of literary techniques including setting, theme and characterisation which may
make the decision seem correct or not. Talking Heads was originally produced for
BBC television but has recently been used as a collection of short stories. Each of
the characters portrayed, is played by an actress that has been previously associated
with Alan Bennett e.g.:Thora Hird who plays Doris worked on a BBC Radio 4
programme Deadringers .It is safe to say that Alan Bennett tailored some of the
material, to suit the actors, own ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bennett reflects this very well by transferring this British habit to his characters. All
of them are dead against a change in their lifestyle.
This is excellently demonstrated in A Cream Cracker Doris wants to stay in her
house, but the council recommends she moves to a nursing home , but she refuses
on the grounds of hygiene clearly this shows that she is against a change of setting
and a change of life and this is cleverly portrayed throughout the plays.
Is their setting a safe haven or a prison? Looked at from different angles, we all
would have different views. With Graham, his home and mainly his bedroom is a
sanctuary for him, some where he can escape prejudice and critics, but on
reflection what they really are is a hiding place , a place for Graham to hide away
and wallow in self pity. But for Irene she feels her home is a prison. She has no
freedom or liberty, no way to express herself. The only way she achieves this is by
writing letters which may anger or offend other members in the community. But as
she enters an actual prison she feels more freedom than when she was actually a
free woman, that may seem strange to you and I, but for some people, this can be
reality and a break from a life they do not enjoy. When dealing with Doris, it is or can
be a confusing situation, from different viewpoints it

The Unsung Heroes of Beowulf In Ovid s epic Beowulf there is no contesting that
Beowulf, son of Ecgtheow, is a force to be reckoned with. A hero with many
mythical deeds and feats under his belt, but he is not the sole hero of this tale.
Rather, he is a morally ambiguous protagonist with the mystical powers to back him
up. The true heroes of Beowulf are the unsung background fodder that often meet
gruesome ends. A mixed tale for these heroes begin as soon as Beowulfmakes his
debut at Heorot Hall and eventually culminates into the greatest unsung hero of the
epic, Wiglaf. In essence, Whilst Beowulf is the main character everything that he

Grendel stalks his immense form through the hall just looking for the first of many
victims. One such victim being the nail in the coffin as far as the illegitimacy of
this portion of the story goes. he grabbed and mauled a man on his bench bit into his
bone lappings, bolted down his blood and gorged on him in lumps, leaving the body
utterly lifeless, eaten up hand and foot. (Beowulf 906 907)
A mauling such as this cannot be done silently. The devoured warrior would no
doubt have been woken from his slumber immediately. As the monster would feed
on the man s flesh it would undoubtedly wake the others. If this is indeed the case
then it can only mean one thing. Those men sleeping alongside Beowulf are
among the bravest and most disciplined thanes that were likely to exist. They
would have shown great restraint in not making their consciousness known.
Meaning they had to lie there in silence as one of their very own was ripped apart
in what had to be a very gruesome affair. A fact only strengthened by their response
when Grendel s mother assaults the hall. All while Beowulf did the same, but that
is to be expected of a man of his caliber. Since no man moved during this time it
allowed Grendel to fall into a sense of false security. Allowing the beast to fatally fall
into the trap that Beowulf had laid out.

Analysis of the battle of Beersheba Essay
History learning task
The Battle of Beersheba was fought on 31 October 1917, when two infantry and two
mounted divisions of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF), attacked units of the
Yildirim Army Group garrisoning Beersheba. This EEF victory began the offensive,
which six weeks later resulted in the capture of Jerusalem, during the Sinai and
Palestine campaign of World War I. I think that the Australian soldiers were very
effective in winning Beersheba although the charge was born of the desperation of
having no water and needing to capture the wells in Beersheba.

turned sour for the Light horse.

(Lancers, 2013)
In source 2, which is believed to be the only photo to have been taken of the battle of
Beersheba, you can see the light horse charging and that they are using swords.
This was because in those days guns were unwieldy and hard to load so it was
easier to just use swords this created an insane battle but the key to it was speed
because as soon as the horsemen got passed the trenches the Turkish would be cast
into disarray. Even as the horsemen vaulted the trenches a huge cheer went up from
not only the English infantry but also some of the Turks, such was the magnificence
of the feat. After
The World War I And The Death Of The Adolf Hitler
Born in Austria in 1889, he rose to power in German politics as leader of the
National Socialist German Workers Party, also known as the Nazi Party. He was
chancellor of Germany from 1933 to 1945, and served as dictator from 1934 to 1945.
His policies triggered World War II and oversaw fascist policies that resulted in
millions of deaths. Today we will discuss the early years, artistic dream, the role in
World War I, rise to power, the leadership of Der FГ
јhrer, and the death of the
infamous Adolf Hitler.
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in the Austrian border town of Braunau am
Inn. His birth place is located roughly 65 miles east of Munich, Germany and 30
miles north of Salzburg, Austria. He was the fourth of six children born ... Show more

At the age of fifteen, Hitler dropped out of primary school to follow his dreams of
becoming an artist, and, at the age of 18, he moved to Vienna with money inherited
after his father s death in 1903, in order to pursue a career in art, as this was his best
subject at school. Werckmeister states that he went there intending to see operas and
study the famous picture gallery in the Court Museum. Instead, he found himself
fascinated by the city s beautiful architecture. Hitler put all his hope in the dream of
achieving greatness as an artist. He wished to attend the Vienna Academy of Fine
Arts. In October 1907, he took the two day entrance exam for the academy s school
of painting, but his test drawings were judged unsatisfactory. He was not admitted.
He was encouraged to consider the field of architecture. But without the required high
school diploma, he would not be accepted into architecture school either. Thus, Hitler
s dreams of becoming a professional artist came to a bitter end (Werckmeister.)
According to Klaus, Hitler moved to Munich, Germany in May 1913 in order to
avoid arrest for evasion of his military service obligation to Habsburg Austria. It was
financed by the last installment of his inheritance from his father. In Munich, he
continued to drift, supporting himself on his watercolors and sketches until World
War I gave his life new meaning. Klaus stated that Hitler was a brave soldier. He was
promoted to the rank of Corporal, was
Department Of Youth Rehabilitation Services
The Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services is what we decided to do our
project on. It appeals to us because we can easily see ourselves working with this
organization at various points in our careers. To begin with we wanted to give a
description of the history of the organization as well as its purpose as an overview to
understand its uses.
The Department of YouthRehabilitation Services has a relatively short history but it
is a very impactful one. The department is headed by Clinton Lacey. The
Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services was founded in 2004 in the District of

recidivism rate for youth under the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services care
decreased by 47 percent.
Today DYRS has a fully comprehensive and functional website. It has easy access to
links that include Community based treatment, DC YouthLink Services, New

Hesiod s Plight Of Women In Greek Myth
The Greek poet Hesiod once said that A man wins nothing better than a good wife,
and then again nothing deadlier than a bad one. This proved to be especially true
for Israel, for they suffered many things because of their intermarriage with foreign
women. In doing so, they not only afflicted Ezra, but the Lord of heaven and earth.
They, therefore, stood condemned. However, the Lord, being full of mercy, did not
punish the Israelite nation as severely as He could have. Ezra acknowledges this in
his prayer, as well as the guilt of his people, and then concludes chapter nine by
proclaiming the righteousness of God. As Ezra continued his prayer with mourning
and weeping, the people gathered around him and began to weep bitterly as well. It

How Did Martin Scorsese Influence American Films
With hits such as Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, and The Departed, Martin Scorsese has
become one of the most influential American film directors and screenwriters of
our generation. Born in New York City in 1942, Scorsese has always wanted to
work in film. His love of films helped him to create brilliant works of art all
throughout his career. His films have won many academy awards and BAFTA
awards Through filming and editing techniques to the neorealism aspect of the
films and Scorsese s personal influence into his storytelling are what makes him
incredibly unique compared to the rest of the world s directors. He got an early

would take him to the theaters often. That is when he began to fall in love with the
cinema. He Graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
He started out with short films, then worked his way up to his first feature film,
Who s That Knocking at My Door (1967). It was called a marvelous evocation of
American city life, announcing the arrival of an important new director by film

Pros And Cons Of United States Postal Service
Summary
According to a Case Study United States Postal Service (Jan 06, 2010), retrieved
from: http://www.slideshare.net/bakeursilly/usps; since 1175 when Benjamin
Franklin was appointed as the first postmaster general of the United States, the

To address the problem, we need to compare and contrast the modern form of the
postal service: electronic mail (e mail). Although email is favorable because it
makes communication remarkably fast and you can send things for free , in many
ways the good old letter is better. We want to identify when and how the letter is
better. Even though it is free to send an email, you still need access to internet and a
computer, both in which cost hundreds of dollars, opposed to a letter where you can
have everything you need to send a letter under a dollar. A letter is also hard
evidence, it s harder to forge than an email, since handwriting is unique, and typing is
not. Computers can have many internal errors; the computer can crash, information
can be lost or leaked to someone.
The First Monthly Coaching Program
Chris, Once again, I would like to welcome you back. This is the first monthly
coaching you ve had since you went on workers compensation. You cannot have
come back on a more exciting and challenging year. As you have already noticed,
there are a few things that have changed since you left. Our new rework goal is
7.5%. Of course, because of the time you have been since you came back and
started pulling routes, you haven t had enough time to accumulate enough work to
have a rework percentage. Other areas that are also considered for quality are your
whole house compliance and whole house in range. For this month, you scored
100% in whole house compliance and whole house in range. The new goal in this
area compared to last year of 94%. Is 95.8%. So this has increased based to last
year s percentage. Currently your yearly average are 94.9 and 95.2% respectively.
So based on your current yearly percentage on rework and whole house compliance

Thoron Concentration Essay
The results of experimentally determined values of indoor radon, thoron and their
progeny concentrations observed in selected 127 dwellings of 47 villages sampled
by single entry pin holes based dosimeters and progeny sensors for one year are
summarized in Table 1. The radon concentration varies from 16В±0.9 Bqm 3 to
50В±23 Bqm 3 with an arithmetic meanof 30В±7 Bqm 3 and geometric mean (and
geometric standard deviation) of 30 (1.25) Bqm 3, which is less than the lower limit
of the action level (200 300 Bqm 3) recommended by International Commission on
Radiological Protection [28]. Also, the mean radon concentration is well below the
world average value of 40 Bqm 3 [1]. The present results of radon concentration are
lower than the action... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence the p values in both cases are greater than the 0.05, so the test accepts the
hypothesis of normality. The SW test is consistent with the standardized skewness
and the standardized kurtosis values (Fig. 4). They accept the normality for annual
radon and thoron concentrations. In order to determine normality graphically, the
output of the normal Q Q plot was also used (Fig. 5). From Fig. 5, it is clear that the
data points are along the diagonal line. Hence, the data are normally distributed.
The equilibrium equivalent radon concentration (EERC) has been found to vary
from 7В±2 Bqm 3 to 26В±1 Bqm 3 with an arithmetic mean of 17В±5 Bqm 3 and
geometric mean (and geometric standard deviation) of 17 (1.11) Bqm 3. Similarly,
the equilibrium equivalent thoron concentration (EETC) has been found to vary
from 0.4В±0.1 Bqm 3 to 2.6В±1 Bqm 3 with an arithmetic mean of 1.3В±0.5 Bqm 3
and geometric mean (and geometric standard deviation) of 1.2 (1.46) Bqm 3,
respectively. The ICRP [32] has recommended the range of 2 to 50 Bqm 3 for EERC
and 0.04 to 2 Bqm 3 for EETC.
The ICRP [32] estimated an expected concentration in buildings, which in terms of
EERC is 2 to 50 Bqm 3 and EETC is 0.04 to 2 Bqm 3. All measured values of EERC
are found well within the range limit prescribed by ICRP [32]. However, about 6
villages (13%) have a higher value of EETC than the maximum limit given by ICRP

COMMERCE Tracking technology Name: Class: Date Institution: INTRODUCTION
E commerce is the conduction of business and commercial affairs through electronic
means. Electronic means ensure that companies are competitive and efficient in
terms of production. The high level of e commercein the current business
environment has not come instantaneously, but, there has been continual evolution.
The centre of this evolution is technological advancement and globalization, two
factors that have reduced the world to be in the form of a business village due to the
ease in which operations are done. A sense of enhanced competition exists between
various companies as they struggle to cope up with the high demands of the
technology era[ ]. This essay outlines the development and the perspectives of e
commerce.
Being a large topic, the evolution of e commerce is discussed as a component of the
disadvantages of e commerce. The use of the e commerce and e commerce selling
invention hit the internet marketing with a thud on its invention in the late 1990s with
its revolution of transforming the computer and internet industries. The use of the e
commerce came with several advantages that saw connections both in the internet and
intranet easier and transfer of files become much easier between and among foreign
businesses too but also came with disadvantage as it placed most businesses under

District 5 0 is requesting permission to appoint a candidate for the position of
Traffic Control Specialist above the minimum salary requirements in the
appropriate pay scale group. The Traffic Control Specialist position became vacant
in District 5 0 in August 2014. The vacancy was posted from October 6, 2014 to
October 20, 2014. The District surveyed a Civil Service list which produced no
responses. Five bids were received from the posting and three interviews were
conducted since one bid was withdrawn and the other was not eligible. Of the three

declined the offer. The Civil Service test for this job title was not open or
scheduled to be opened in the near future. The District engaged in discussions
regarding how to proceed with filing this vacancy and decided that the best course
of action would be to work with Central Office to assist with getting Civil Service
to open this job title for localized testing. This action proved successful and in June

Is Hamlet A Coward Analysis
What is a coward? A coward is a person who lacks the courage to do or endure
dangerous or unpleasant things. In William Shakespeare s play Hamlet a grief
stricken prince of Denmark comes home to his father s funeral and he seeks revenge
against the murderer. Hamlet is a story of love, loss, and overall revenge.
Hamlet is also a coward because of his inability to act against those who betrayed
him, but had other people carry out their demise. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern
used to be friends of Hamlet until they betrayed him for the King and Queen and
for money. They spied on Hamlet for the King and Queen and for money. Later we
discover that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were carrying letters and Hamlet states
in the final words of the letters That, on the supervise, no leisure bated,/No, not to
stay the grinding of the axe,/My head should be strook off. (V. ii. 22 24). With this
statement Hamlet explains that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were escorting him to
his death at the hands of the English. Instead of dealing with the traitors himself he
rewrites the letters to the English state Without debatement further, more or less,
/ He should those bearers put to sudden death,/Not shriving time allow d. (V. ii. 45
48). He had the English kill him so he did not have to endure a painful experience.
That is nearly the exact definition of a coward. He did not have the courage to do
what needed to be done. We eventually find out that the British were capable of
getting rid of
Racecar Drivers Vs Car Driving
Driving in circles is often one of the first things that comes to mind when someone
hears the word racecar driver. However, driving in circles is nowhere near a complete
explanation of what a racecar driver can do. Most people know racecar drivers drive
with the purpose of going fast. Their goal when drivinga racecar is to get from point
A to point B as fast as possible. They drive endless loops of a racing circuit to
improve previous lap times by milliseconds, just to say they were the fastest. This
is something that few understand, and racecar drivers have difficulty explaining
why this is their passion to others. It s almost as if they are looking into a different
boxcar than others. Sometimes when people think of a racecar driver, they think,
Can t anyone drive a car? or Oh driving in circles like NASCAR? That must be easy.
These answers couldn t be farther from the reality, and it s astonishing how unknown
the world of auto racingis to many people. Racing is not just driving per se. Racing
is the art of driving fast with a bunch of other like minded idiots, who all risk their
lives with the, widely misunderstood, willingness to endanger their life just to say
they beat the other guy. Racing and racecar drivers are entirely different from driving
on the street in a countless number of ways.
Throughout this paper a street driver will refer to someone who is not a racecar
driver, and a racecar driver will refer to someone who races cars.

Hepburn And Streep Research Paper
There have been a wide variety of memorable actors and actresses that have taken
Hollywood by storm. Ranging from opera singers to theater performers, all of
these stars may share many similarities and differences, ranging from personality to
number of awards. Of the many famous female stars of Hollywood, Katharine
Hepburn and Meryl Streep are by far some of the most accomplished and well
known. Both Hepburn and Streep acquired an interest for theater, acting, and
performance at a young age. Katharine Hepburn s interest in theater and acting was
sparked as child when she and her siblings created a group, the Hepburn Players,
with her neighbors to perform plays. Meryl Streep s desire to perform started when
she was in high school. She... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both women challenged stereotypes for female actresses regarding the characters
they portrayed. Hepburn played a wide variety of characters, ranging from queens
to librarians ( Katharine Hepburn ). Hepburn did not only accept roles for elegant
women with class and sophistication. She took on a variety of roles and became the
outstanding performer known today. Hepburn was also an astoundingly strong
woman. At a young age, she lost her brother, with whom she was very close with,
to suicide. Hepburn remained strong through the tragedy, and along with her four
siblings, she created a self directed performing group with other neighborhood kids
(Socha 867). Meryl Streep also played characters who were not necessarily seen as
feminine and graceful. Streep s physical appearance, beautiful while still flexible,
allowed her to easily become characters who were not ladylike and tender, which
was perfect for her to play a variety of characters ( Meryl Streep ). Hepburn and
Streep both strayed away from what women ordinarily played, changing the roles
actresses in Hollywood accepted and also changing the way society saw women.
After seeing such great stars become females who were not considered normal, it
was much more acceptable for real women to not be what society considered
Gender Wage Gaps
Many believe that those who don t have education can t have wages that are higher
than a minimum wage job. In some cases this is true but Hispanics and blacks who
have received the same amount of education in a certain field to those of the Asian
and White races still make less. However, looking just at those with a bachelor s
degree or more education, wage gaps by gender, raceand ethnicity persist. College
educated black and Hispanic men earn roughly 80% the hourly wages of white
college educated men ($25 and $26 vs. $32, respectively). White and Asian college
educated women also earn roughly 80% the hourly wages of white college educated
men ($25 and $27, respectively). However, black and Hispanic women with a college
degree earn only about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But since 2000, progress has all but flatlined. A big underlying factor is the
slowdown in women s wage growth. That s what helped propel the closure of the
gap in earlier decades, but women have seen a standstill in wage growth since
about 2001, as has most of the country.Women make less than men, on average, for
a number of reasons. About 10 percent of it is thanks to different work experience,
often because women are much more likely to take breaks from work to care for
family members. The drop of women in the labor force over the last decade can be
tied to the country s lack of paid family leave, child care assistance, and support for
flexible schedules. Some of it is also due to the fact that women end up working in
areas that tend to pay less. But that doesn t mean they can escape the gap by
choosing different paths. They make less in virtually every industry and every job.
And while getting more education boosts earnings, women make less than men
with the same educational credentials at every level and even make less than their
former male classmates when they graduate from top tier universities. Some of that
difference may be due to different majors or grades, but when salaries in the first
year after graduation are compared while taking the college, major, grades, and
other factors into account, women still experience a significant wage
gap.Discrimination therefore plays a role. Economists consistently find a portion of
the gap that can t be explained by a variety of other factors. Studies have found that
people of both genders are inclined to give men more money, especially if the woman
is a mother. Meanwhile, women s job performance is continuously underrated
compared to men s. Therefore in the workforce are discriminated

One of the important initiatives taken by the top management was to translate the

vehicle (SUVs) sales in the United States. The United States Department of
Transportation website was the source of the data used for the paper. It contained

case, SUV sales is the dependent variable and refers to the number of SUVs sold

Description of Dataset
As mentioned earlier, the data used for this paper was sourced from The United
States Department of Transportation website. In order to locate the dataset a
Google search was conducted with search terms that include SUV sales data annual
sales. Google returned a number of website sources, which were examined and
sorted. From the list of searches, the best and most credible source was The United
States Department of Transportation website. Using the search feature available on
the website an additional search was carried out using similar search terms. The data
titled Table 1 21: Period Sales, Market Shares, and Sales Weighted Fuel Economies of
New Domestic and Imported Light Trucks (Thousands of vehicles) was downloaded
and it contained sales, market share and fuel consumption information for a number
of light trucks (Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 2016).
Using Excel, the original dataset was filtered in order to remove the small, medium,
and large size pickup data and only leave data on SUVs. The main reason for this is
that the study was interested in studying price, market share and consumption as
factors that affect sales of SUVs in America. The dataset contains annual data from
1990 to 2012. It also contains data from 1980 and 1985 (Bureau of Transportation
Statistics, 2016). This in total consisted of 25 observations for each dataset.
Flying Spaghetti Monster Research Paper
The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (often shortened to FSM), also known as
the Pastafarian Church, and Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, was created in 2005 after a
letter protesting the teaching of intelligent design in schools, written by Prophet
Bobby Henderson, was posted online. Since that time, The FSM has gained much
internet fame and what Henderson estimates to be millions, if not thousands . The
Church is founded on the belief that the world was created by the benevolent and
undetectable mythical being known as the Flying Spaghetti Monster. It is commonly
believed by members that, after drinking heavily, he created the world in four days,
starting with a mountain, a tree, and a midget, later creating a wench for the midget,
whom all humans are descended from. The church states that their envisionment of

1), which represents their value of pirates, and a simplified image of the FSM
Himself (see fig. 2), which is used to identify other members of the church, and also
to parody the Christian fish symbol. These images are often used in Pastafarian
propaganda, which is also the church s main source of income. The language of the
Church is rather unique. Pastafarians almost entirely agree that the more someone
talks using pirate lingo, the more devout a believer they are. Because of this, one of
the Church s few holidays is International Talk Like A Pirate Day, which is celebrated
on September 19th. They also end all prayers, official or invented, with the phrase R
Amen (sometimes written rAmen), as something of a spoof of the phrase Amen .
While an argument could be made that the Church is a counter culture for their desire
to keep intelligent design and other religious teaching out of schools, the Church is
definitively a subculture. They are simply a group of like minded people who have
banded together in their attempts to improve the
Pros And Cons Of Involuntary Manslaughter
Introduction
After careful consideration and much thought, we have decided it is in our best
interests to hire John Snow, although he is an ex convict; he has already served his
time. His credentials are notable, having recommendations from his previous
employments as well as his university, while also having a Bachelor s Degree in
Hospitality. We have the right to believe that he is honest, and is willing to turn over
to a new leaf, as he stated in his resume that he was convicted of involuntary
manslaughter, the lowest count of murder by state law and has served the maximum
jail time for such a crime (http://criminal.findlaw.com/). For further clarification and
reference, we have complied 2 other similar cases of hiring an ex convict for ... Show

Other states divide the entire offense of manslaughter into degrees, with murder
carrying a heavier sentence than involuntary manslaughter (http://legal
dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/). For example, in the state of California, according
to the California s Involuntary Manslaughter Law Penal Code 192(b) PC, explicitly
states that;
Involuntary manslaughter in California occurs when one person kills another
unintentionally, either:
a)While committing a crime that is not an inherently a dangerous California felony *,
OR
b)While committing a lawful act which might produce death, without due caution.
*e.g. First degree burglary, murder rape
Under California Penal Code 192(b), the key feature of California involuntary
manslaughter is that it does not require intent to kill another person unlike Penal
Code 187 murder, which requires malice aforethought.
And California s involuntary manslaughter law does not include actions that fit the
definition above but involve a car. Those will be charged under California s vehicular
manslaughter laws.
Involuntary manslaughter is always considered a felony in California, with
punishments including:

Water Pollution in India
In a house that was near the Ganges River, there lived a wealthy family that was
doing their chores. This family included a mother, father, and a boy. The boy in
this family was named Chaitanya meaning consciousness in English. While
Chaitanya was doing his daily chores that day, his mother came over and asked
him if he was willing to do an extra chore for her. This chore was washing clothes in
the Ganges River. Chaitanya told her that he was happy to do that for her. His
mother gave him the clothes that she wanted him to wash and then went straight
down to the Ganges River. He looked at the filthy water with a disgusted look on his
face and then told himself that he was not going to wash his family s clothes in this
water.

In the end, this radio program could be helpful since a lot of people in India are poor,
but they still have access to radios. The Indian Government will then try to increase
the awareness and understanding of the connection between human and the
environment (Government of India, http://india.gov.in).
Another thing that the Indian Government is introducing is environmental education
for school children. They have done this by introducing a program for schools that is
all about sanitation and hygiene. This includes hand washing, infrastructure to clean
water, and washing storage (Government of India, http://www.ceeindia.org).
To teach these children, they have made a cartoon book and an activity manual for
teachers. The cartoon book and teacher s manual is mainly for primary school
students and teaches sanitation and personal hygiene. Since they are doing this, the
possibility of the water pollution levels of their country would possibly be lower
(Government of India, http://www.ceeindia.org).
Lack of education in India is not the only reason why water pollution rates are very
high there. In addition to that, the way the government spends money is another
reason why water pollution levels are so high. This is because they are not spending
enough of their money on things that are necessary to improve their citizen s lives.
The Indian Government currently only spends about 3.4% of their money

Understanding Do the Right Thing
While the 1970 s and 80 s marked a decline in movies featuring black actors and a
lack of black directors, the mid 1980 s through the 1990 s invited a new generation
of filmmakers and rappers, engaging with the New Jack image, transforming the
Ghettos of yesteryears into the hood of today. A major director that emerged during
this time was Spike Lee. According to Paula Massood s book titled, Black City
Cinema, African AmericanUrban Experiences in Film, ...Lee not only transformed
African American city spaces and black filmmaking practices, he also changed
American filmmaking as a whole. Lee is perhaps one of the most influential film
makers of the time, likely of all time. He thrusted black Brooklyn into light, shifting
away from the popularity of Harlem. By putting complex characters into an urban
space that is not only defined by poverty, drugs, and crime, it suggests the
community is more than the black city it once was, it is instead a complex cityscape.
Despite them being addressed to an African American audience, Lee s film attract a
mixed audience. Spike lee s Do the Right Thing painted a different image of the

The Three-Ring Prison Essay
When adults take their children to the circus, they expect their child to be
mesmerized. What is there for a child not to be captivated by? Between the dazzling
display of lights, the vast amount of animals, and the entertaining clowns all over the
place, the circus is a great experience for any child. While the tigers are jumping
through hoops of fire, the elephants are being prepared to go out into the center ring.
The audience is going wild and the children are screaming in excitement. Before the
elephants begin their march into the ring, the trainers, behind the scenes, take one last
hit at them with their bull hooks. One elephanttrumpets in pain as the hook gashes

mistreatment of the animals out of public view. This is because no agencies have
any guidelines that are set to monitor training sessions, which is where most of the
abuse is being given (Ringling vs. Reality). This company is supposed to be
looked up to by many young children but in reality, they force great pain on the
objects that make them the most money the animals. Life on the road can be very
harsh for these animals, most of which are supposed to be living in the vast plains
and forests of the world. These animals are being transported in boxcars all across
America for up to 50 weeks a year (3 Reasons). Knowing the size of boxcars, I am
left wondering how they shove elephants into those for long hours. Not only is the
life on the road tough for these animals but also life at the circus is extreme. Elephants
are being chained by their ankles and are only given a few feet to move around
(Animal Circuses). In the wild, elephants are known to be extremely social and live
in large groups that travel miles every day (Newkirk). For these elephants, being
chained by the ankles in circuses is equivalent for humans serving a life long prison
Egypt s Influence On The World
For the past few centuries, Egypt was ruled by foreigners that distributed wealth
among their peers and made the indigenous people their subjects. During the
Nineteenth century, Egypt was ruled by Mehmet Ali and his descendants. Mehmet
Ali was a general sent by the Ottoman empire to expel Napoleon Bonaparte from
Egypt. Due to the increase pressure on the Ottoman Empire by Russia from the North,
Mehmet Ali parted ways and planned to build his own empire with military strength.
Since then, the leaders of Egypt have sustain power on owning majority of vast land.
The land is used for agriculture that produces revenue to support the army of Mehmet
Ali. This land was distributed among the friends and families of the kings who ruled
Egypt who strengthen throughout the century. During the late nineteenth century to
mid 20 century, the British extend their rule in Egypt. This was strategic for the
British because they built the Suez canal which gave them a shorter route to India.
Controlling the Suez Canal enabled them to control world trade which made their
empire even stronger. However, the British not only controlled the Canal but
exploited land. Cotton became the second most extracted product from Egypt that
went to the mills in the United Kingdom. It wasn t until the Free officers revolted
against the British to leave and the indigenous Egyptians for the first time controlled
their own country after centuries.

The U.S. Arms Policy and Taiwan From the 1970 s to the...
Before Nixon decided to pursue normalization with China in 1971, the U.S. arms
sales policy towards Taiwan was stable because of the Vietnam War effort and
global containment strategy. U.S. pulled Taiwan into its global policy without
much debate, given that choice for Taiwan was indeed limited and its economic
strength as well as defense capability were relatively weak. With US recognition of
the PRC a fait accompli, how to make the new relationships with China and Taiwan
had engaged lawyers and diplomats beginning in 1972 and especially during 1978.

passage of the TRA, PRC leaders objected strenuously to the act s provision for
continued U.S. arms sales to Taiwan, regarding it as a violation of U.S. commitments
to end its military alliance with Taipei. After two years of bilateral tensions, the third
U.S. PRC joint communiquГ© addressed this point on August 17, 1982, and
Washington promised in this communiquГ© to reduce and eventually cease the sale
of weapons to Taiwan, stating that the U.S. did not seek to carry out a long term
policy of arms sales to Taiwan, that its arms sales to Taiwan will not exceed, either in
qualitative or quantitative terms, the level of those supplied in recent years since the
establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and China, and that
it intends to reduce gradually its sales of arms to Taiwan . To carry out the President s
conviction, the White House secretly negotiated the so called Six Assurances with
Taiwan to restrict the implementation of the communiquГ© it had just signed with
Long Term Conflict Effects
The effects of long term conflicts are numerous and include both physiological and
psychological effects. Children are specifically effected by ongoing conflicts.
Children who grow up in areas of ongoing conflict develop stereotypes and attitudes
towards those in the opposing group. It effects their understanding of the world in
general and develops the way in which they respond to violence and conflict. In
essence, growing up in an area with an ongoing conflict changes a child s entire
worldview which results in a barrier to peaceful resolutions (Nasie, Diamond, Bar Tal,

effects can include hippocampus shrinkage, damage to neural activity, hypersensitive

The first layer of the brain is the cortex which covers the top and sides of the brain.
This area controls reasoning and language, and this area will be less active when
under sedative drugs. The basal ganglia are located underneath the cortex and it is

The user may increase the amount of a drug taken due to the drug being
metabolized too quickly or being removed from the body. A person may
compensate their behavior when exposed to a drug overtime such as learning to

tolerance. Pharmacodynamics tolerance is the main contributor to the need to
increase the dosage of a drug in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms. The user does
not feel the same effects of a dosage so the dosage must be increased in order to get
the same feeling.

effort to reduce the likelihood of adverse reactions to drugs taken in combination.
The largest deficit that can be produced to avoid adverse reactions to drug taken in
combination is to avoid doing it all such as alcohol and other depressants. Individuals
that need to take multiple medications such as person with diabetes and high blood
pressure need to be carefully monitored and educated on the effects of the
medications individually and the effects of the medications when combined.

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Drugs Crafting a persuasive essay on the subject of drugs can be a challenging endeavor. The intricacies lie not only in presenting a coherent and well-structured argument but also in navigating the sensitive nature of the topic. Addressing the multifaceted aspects of drug use, abuse, and their societal implications requires a comprehensive understanding of various perspectives, scientific data, and ethical considerations. One of the difficulties stems from the polarized opinions surrounding drug policies and their impact on individuals and communities. Balancing the need for empathy and understanding with the necessity for stringent measures can be a delicate task. Additionally, delving into the psychological, physiological, and social repercussions of drug use demands thorough research and critical analysis. Moreover, the language and tone employed in such an essay play a crucial role in maintaining a respectful and informed dialogue. Striking the right balance between persuasion and information dissemination is challenging, as the essay must not only convey a compelling argument but also foster a nuanced understanding of the issue at hand. Furthermore, the continuous evolution of drug-related trends and policies adds an extra layer of complexity. Staying abreast of the latest research findings, legislative changes, and societal attitudes is imperative for crafting an essay that remains relevant and impactful. In conclusion, writing a persuasive essay on the topic of drugs is a demanding task that requires a thoughtful approach, meticulous research, and an adept handling of sensitive subject matter. • 2. Ordovician Life For a long period, up till now, I loved the early life of earth. Kimberella, Dickinsonia, and, later in time, Hylonomus were some of the creatures I studied. To find out, I went online to look around. The first question I looked at, to me at least, was the diversity of life in the early periods of life, specifically the Ordovician. To find out the answer, we must go back in time, at the beginning of the Ordovician in fact, to find out the answer. I started my research on this topic by surfing the internet and looking at various websites until I found the perfect one. I finally found an entire article on how the Ordovician period s life branched out. Next, I wanted to find out information on the missing link between fish and early amphibians.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During this period there were volcanoes dotting the landscape of early Earth. Seems inhospitable right? You are correct in a way, but there is life here, microscopic life, but life nonetheless. Deep in the ocean, in the crushing depths, there are black smokers, early versions of them, wafting out large amounts of heat and food. This is where early life began, absorbing nutrients from the water. ( Proterozoic: Eukaryotes and the First Multicellular Life Forms. Proterozoic: Eukaryotes and the First Multicellular Life Forms. • 3. What Was Galileo s Accomplishments Success, is it determined on how you look, your health or your wealth? Galileo was one of the most respected scientist in modern day science because of one simple fact. The way you represent your work and represent yourself is what makes up your success, but it starts with you. I once heard somewhere laziness is not attractive and that you ve got to work towards your goals and this is a story about someone on pushed these things to the extreme. Making revolutionary discoveries that some only dreamed of Galileo did extraordinary things and pushed the limit of science. His discovery of astronomy was the starting point to many modern day discoveries, you know the stuff NOVA does. His book relating to his astronomical (hehe get it) discovery ... Galileo discovered the largest moon of Jupiter. Lo, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. Not only that, but he was the one who made the scientific discovery that earth wasn t the center of the rotating planets we and that and the other planets actually orbit around the sun. When Galileo came out with this discovery King George III wasn t happy and I don t even know why. What I do know is he blackmailed Galileo in saying If you don t retract your statement you will be burned at the stake in a long painful death and some other scary stuff. And lastly he discovered how to convert math into a language. I don t really know how they figured things out before, but this surely made it x10 easier. Honestly I don t have much information on this, but I can entertain you until I get to a paragraphs length. So this weather we are having isn t it lovely, if only you could see since you re only reading this I will describe it to you. I have gained valuable information for the last couple on months interning at my agency. For this self evaluation I will be describing the1 3 and 6 9 competencies I set up at the beginning of the semester and see if I have achieved these skills. I will also address the growth and challenges I have come upon throughout this semester. For competency one on processional and ethical practice I wanted to demonstrate having a professional behavior, communication, boundaries, and writing skills throughout the semester. I also wanted to provide integrity, competence, core values, services, dignity, and worth in the agency and my clients. In addition being aware of the mandating reporting, parental consent, and legal consent in the school setting. I feel the growth in this competency I have gained a lot by the agency in proving lots of training, group supervision, and individual supervision has not only broaden my skills but have gained valuable knowledge of what to do in certain situations. For some of the challenges I encounter at the beginning was learningabout mandating reporting and how much work it goes into calling, summiting the paperwork all this is a curial aspect when doing a CWS report. For example, when doing my first mandated report my supervisor stayed and walk me through each step to make sure I did it correctly which was wonderful and learned the right way to do a mandated report. • 5. Alan Turing Psychology Psychology Throughout The Imitation Game Ostracism is very dangerous to a person s health and can cause detrimental damage to themselves. Throughout the movie The Imitation Game Alan Turing has been ostracized all of his life from in school to even as an adult. Since he was much brighter than his peers in school and enjoyed subjects like cryptography they considered him to be different from them and did not acknowledge him except for Christopher Morcom who became his only friend and first love. As an adult at work Turing was still ostracized because since he was so used to being alone he didn t know how to properly socialize with people or how to work in a group like he was supposed to working for Bletchley trying to solve the Enigma coding... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being excluded or ignored by a group of people can be harmful to a person. It can make someone feel that they are alone; that they do not have anyone to care for them or to lean on it times of need. Being ostracized can make someone believe that they do not belong or that no one cares about them, which can lead to low self esteem and depression causing one to often question taking their own life. Ostracism can cause one to go to extreme measures to gain attention such as; bullying, becoming violent, self harm, homicidal, or suicidal. Everyone strives for attention and is a basic need for living. People need to feel that they are loved and that they belong. People are often ostracized for being different and not fitting in with the crowd; however, instead of praised for being unique and different they are excluded to feel worthless. This forces people to believe that they ought to conform to society s standard in order to fit in and gain worth. People can be ostracized for their religion, sexual orientation, sexuality, personality, brains, social class, and even how they look. Like Alan Turing, many people are faced with ostracism because they are different forcing them to feel like they have no option but to commit
  • 6. Traffic Control And Congestion Control Essay 1. Increasing the router memory to infinite cannot control the congestion. Agree or disagree? Elaborate briefly (60 100 words) Why is it true that route with infinite memory does try to minimize congestion, this can simply get out of control and get worse if the rate of incoming packets is far more than the outgoing packet and especially if more incoming packet from multiple input line arriving at any given router need the same output channel. This build up a queue and before other packet reach the beginning of the queue they have already timeout prompting re submission of duplicates building up the queue again leading to more congestion. A lot of other factors are in play here, among these include router CPU and bandwidth. 2. Compare the following: Flow Control vs Congestion Control Congestion control basically states that a network device can transmit only a certain number of packets and can not add more packets to a network until an acknowledgement is received. Congestion control prevents too much data from being injected into the network, causing links and switches to be overloaded Flow control works by refusing new connections until congestion is resolved. In serial transmissions, Xon/Xoff is used for flow control. It is a handshaking mechanism that will keep a sender from sending data faster than a receiver can receive it. flow control prevents senders from overrunning the capacity of the receivers Open loop congestion control methods vs Closed Loop congestion
  • 7. Amazing Strength Characteristics Of Stone Thrower Wales... Astonishing Strength Characteristics of Stone Thrower Wales Defects in Graphene under Compressive Load G. Rajasekaran Rajesh Kumar and Avinash Parashar Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee 247667, India ABSTRACT: One atom thick sheet of carbon discovered this century is flaunted not just for its electrical properties but also for its physical strength and flexibility. The bonds between carbon atoms are well known as the strongest in nature, so a perfect sheet of graphene should withstand just about anything, but to use it in real time applications, we have to understand the useful strength of graphene. So for, researchers have looked extensively at graphene s electronic properties and tensile strength, nobody, had taken comprehensive measurements of its ability to withstand a compressive load. We find that, counter to standard reasoning, graphene sheets with Stone Thrower Wales (STW) defects are able to bear high compressive stressas compared to pristine graphene. We show that this trend can be understood by considering the critical bonds in the seven and five membered carbon rings which bears the maximum compressive stress. Graphene with STW defects is stronger in compressive strength point of view because they are able to better accommodate these strained rings. Our results provide guidelines for designing graphene with STW defects to obtain maximum compressive strength, so that we can get the benefit of this

Reflection On Aa Meeting After my experience of attending an open AA meeting, I decided to continue learning about alcohol addiction and how it affects family and/or friends by going to an Al Anon meeting. In class we have touched upon how addiction affects not just the individual, but all those involved in their lives. After the experience of the AA meeting I was eager to see what would happen and be discussed in an Al Anon meeting. Trying to find an open meeting was more difficult than when I was looking for an AA meeting. In order to find one I went to the Al Anon website and was then directed to the New Jersey website. I chose not to read aloud from the book when it was my turn because I felt a little uncomfortable. Not everyone chose to read aloud, so that helped me to feel more comfortable and not as out of place. There were a lot of repeated reflections about how the members felt like they had to be the one to take care of everything and everyone. They felt responsible for everyone s actions and took responsibility if/when something went wrong. Also, there was discussion on how step ten has helped group members to realize that in order for them to be able to take care of anyone else, they had to be able to take care of themselves first. This statement was one that is really important. It made me think about how that concept is something that is always talked about in regards to being a social worker and how it can be applied to everyone. Another topic brought up during the reading of step ten was the pain and hurt of addiction. A couple of the women talked about how addiction is very hard, not just for the person who has the addiction, but for family and friends as well. They went on to say that for those who have not experienced it really have no idea how it could affect you, even when you are not the addict. Some of the women talked about how alcohol is all encompassing. When this was brought up, I noticed other people in the room nodding their heads in agreement. Additionally, a couple of the members discussed how much they have changed since coming to the meetings, specifically how step ten has helped them in their

Although the exact day is not known, we can trace the origins of the modern day short story to the 19th century. The novel foregrounds Carson s struggle to defy all odds aided by his iron will, tremendous faith, respect, meekness and an unconditional devotion to God. Carson displayed great determination and dedication from a young age. He thrived to be ahead of his studies and went the extra mile for the well being of his education. After I started pulling ahead in school, the desire to be smarter grew stronger and stronger. Carson focused more on being the best he could be rather than being top of the class. A pristine example of Carson s faith is portrayed before a major chemistry final. Although Carson was unprepared, he laid the situation before God and was able to miraculously score well in the exam. Carson lived a Christ oriented life and the blessings were endless. His faithfulness demonstrated the power in living in such a way. Carson was no ordinary man. His intricate way of thinking was like no other. One of the most obvious and well known achievement is his concept of incorporating lasers in neurosurgery to nullify complexities faced whilst operating. He knew there was an easier way and took the initiative to act upon his ideas. Comparing Carson s accomplishments and initial circumstances serves as living proof that anyone can be an influential figure in our society. Carson s radiant demeanor shone throughout the course of his life. His pleasant behavior and respect for others produced a very likable individual. Although there were countless incidents where Carson could bad mouth white folk, he never resorted to racial prejudice and whole heartedly believed in equality amongst everyone. The problem with many of the intellectually talented is the mentality they withhold which automatically grants them bragging rights. Carson on the other hand was a silent achiever, very humble about his success
  • 17. Essay on Alan Bennett Talking Heads Alan Bennett Talking Heads In Bennett s monologues the main character faces an important decision which will affect the course of their lives. I will go on and explain in this essay, the play writer s use of literary techniques including setting, theme and characterisation which may make the decision seem correct or not. Talking Heads was originally produced for BBC television but has recently been used as a collection of short stories. Each of the characters portrayed, is played by an actress that has been previously associated with Alan Bennett e.g.:Thora Hird who plays Doris worked on a BBC Radio 4 programme Deadringers .It is safe to say that Alan Bennett tailored some of the material, to suit the actors, own ... This is excellently demonstrated in A Cream Cracker Doris wants to stay in her house, but the council recommends she moves to a nursing home , but she refuses on the grounds of hygiene clearly this shows that she is against a change of setting and a change of life and this is cleverly portrayed throughout the plays. Is their setting a safe haven or a prison? Looked at from different angles, we all would have different views. With Graham, his home and mainly his bedroom is a sanctuary for him, some where he can escape prejudice and critics, but on reflection what they really are is a hiding place , a place for Graham to hide away and wallow in self pity. But for Irene she feels her home is a prison. She has no freedom or liberty, no way to express herself. The only way she achieves this is by writing letters which may anger or offend other members in the community. But as she enters an actual prison she feels more freedom than when she was actually a free woman, that may seem strange to you and I, but for some people, this can be reality and a break from a life they do not enjoy. When dealing with Doris, it is or can be a confusing situation, from different viewpoints it

(Beowulf 906 907) A mauling such as this cannot be done silently. The devoured warrior would no doubt have been woken from his slumber immediately. As the monster would feed on the man s flesh it would undoubtedly wake the others. If this is indeed the case then it can only mean one thing. Those men sleeping alongside Beowulf are among the bravest and most disciplined thanes that were likely to exist. They would have shown great restraint in not making their consciousness known. Meaning they had to lie there in silence as one of their very own was ripped apart in what had to be a very gruesome affair. A fact only strengthened by their response when Grendel s mother assaults the hall. All while Beowulf did the same, but that is to be expected of a man of his caliber. Since no man moved during this time it allowed Grendel to fall into a sense of false security. Allowing the beast to fatally fall into the trap that Beowulf had laid out. Analysis of the battle of Beersheba Essay History learning task The Battle of Beersheba was fought on 31 October 1917, when two infantry and two mounted divisions of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force (EEF), attacked units of the Yildirim Army Group garrisoning Beersheba. This EEF victory began the offensive, which six weeks later resulted in the capture of Jerusalem, during the Sinai and Palestine campaign of World War I. I think that the Australian soldiers were very effective in winning Beersheba although the charge was born of the desperation of having no water and needing to capture the wells in Beersheba. That was when an even greater threat was unveiled machine guns they may not be as powerful as the field guns but there were more and they could be aimed. But some extreme luck, in the confusion of the charge many of the Turks forgot to change their sights from 1600m and therefore fired over the charging Australian s heads if the Turkish machine gunners had adjusted their sights then the battle may well have turned sour for the Light horse. (The Australian, 2007) (Lancers, 2013) In source 2, which is believed to be the only photo to have been taken of the battle of Beersheba, you can see the light horse charging and that they are using swords. This was because in those days guns were unwieldy and hard to load so it was easier to just use swords this created an insane battle but the key to it was speed because as soon as the horsemen got passed the trenches the Turkish would be cast into disarray. Even as the horsemen vaulted the trenches a huge cheer went up from not only the English infantry but also some of the Turks, such was the magnificence of the feat. After

In order to determine normality graphically, the output of the normal Q Q plot was also used (Fig. 5). From Fig. 5, it is clear that the data points are along the diagonal line. Hence, the data are normally distributed. The equilibrium equivalent radon concentration (EERC) has been found to vary from 7В±2 Bqm 3 to 26В±1 Bqm 3 with an arithmetic mean of 17В±5 Bqm 3 and geometric mean (and geometric standard deviation) of 17 (1.11) Bqm 3. In William Shakespeare s play Hamlet a grief stricken prince of Denmark comes home to his father s funeral and he seeks revenge against the murderer. Hamlet is a story of love, loss, and overall revenge. Hamlet is also a coward because of his inability to act against those who betrayed him, but had other people carry out their demise. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern used to be friends of Hamlet until they betrayed him for the King and Queen and for money. They spied on Hamlet for the King and Queen and for money. Later we discover that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were carrying letters and Hamlet states in the final words of the letters That, on the supervise, no leisure bated,/No, not to stay the grinding of the axe,/My head should be strook off. However, driving in circles is nowhere near a complete explanation of what a racecar driver can do. Most people know racecar drivers drive with the purpose of going fast. Their goal when drivinga racecar is to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. They drive endless loops of a racing circuit to improve previous lap times by milliseconds, just to say they were the fastest. This is something that few understand, and racecar drivers have difficulty explaining why this is their passion to others. It s almost as if they are looking into a different boxcar than others. Sometimes when people think of a racecar driver, they think, Can t anyone drive a car? or Oh driving in circles like NASCAR? That must be easy. These answers couldn t be farther from the reality, and it s astonishing how unknown the world of auto racingis to many people. Racing is not just driving per se. Racing is the art of driving fast with a bunch of other like minded idiots, who all risk their lives with the, widely misunderstood, willingness to endanger their life just to say they beat the other guy. A big underlying factor is the slowdown in women s wage growth. That s what helped propel the closure of the gap in earlier decades, but women have seen a standstill in wage growth since about 2001, as has most of the country.Women make less than men, on average, for a number of reasons. About 10 percent of it is thanks to different work experience, often because women are much more likely to take breaks from work to care for family members. The drop of women in the labor force over the last decade can be tied to the country s lack of paid family leave, child care assistance, and support for flexible schedules. Some of it is also due to the fact that women end up working in areas that tend to pay less. But that doesn t mean they can escape the gap by choosing different paths. They make less in virtually every industry and every job. And while getting more education boosts earnings, women make less than men with the same educational credentials at every level and even make less than their former male classmates when they graduate from top tier universities. Some of that difference may be due to different majors or grades, but when salaries in the first year after graduation are compared while taking the college, major, grades, and other factors into account, women still experience a significant wage gap.Discrimination therefore plays a role. Economists consistently find a portion of the gap that can t be explained by a variety of other factors. Meanwhile, women s job performance is continuously underrated compared to men s. Therefore in the workforce are discriminated

In order to locate the dataset a Google search was conducted with search terms that include SUV sales data annual sales. Google returned a number of website sources, which were examined and sorted. From the list of searches, the best and most credible source was The United States Department of Transportation website. Using the search feature available on the website an additional search was carried out using similar search terms. The data titled Table 1 21: Period Sales, Market Shares, and Sales Weighted Fuel Economies of New Domestic and Imported Light Trucks (Thousands of vehicles) was downloaded and it contained sales, market share and fuel consumption information for a number of light trucks (Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 2016). Using Excel, the original dataset was filtered in order to remove the small, medium, and large size pickup data and only leave data on SUVs. The main reason for this is that the study was interested in studying price, market share and consumption as factors that affect sales of SUVs in America. The dataset contains annual data from 1990 to 2012. It also contains data from 1980 and 1985 (Bureau of Transportation Statistics, 2016). This in total consisted of 25 observations for each dataset.

Flying Spaghetti Monster Research Paper The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (often shortened to FSM), also known as the Pastafarian Church, and Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, was created in 2005 after a letter protesting the teaching of intelligent design in schools, written by Prophet Bobby Henderson, was posted online. Since that time, The FSM has gained much internet fame and what Henderson estimates to be millions, if not thousands . The Church is founded on the belief that the world was created by the benevolent and undetectable mythical being known as the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
