● The term "library science" seems to have been used for the
first time in India in a book in 1916 in the Punjab Library
Primer written by Asa Don Dickinson and published by the
University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan.

● Library science – The study of collecting , preserving
and cataloguing of books , other documents in the library.
● Information science - the study of processes for
storing or retrieving information , especially scientific or
technical information.
