DI FinTech Conference - Mastering Open banking in the emerging experience eco...Johan Löfmark
1) The Nordic region has been a pioneer in digitizing financial services, with the highest adoption of mobile and online banking globally and nearly all banking interactions now occurring through digital channels.
2) However, while Nordic banks have digitized business processes and customer experiences, the next phase of digital transformation requires disrupting existing business and revenue models through open banking, personalization, ecosystem collaboration, and new digital products and services.
3) Dematerialization of banking through open APIs and platforms will allow banks to offer a range of financial products and services from external providers through bank platforms, moving them away from being vertically integrated providers of their own products and services.
The document provides an overview of e-commerce, including its definition, types, business models, and key features. It discusses how e-commerce has transformed business and society through its ubiquitous and global reach enabled by universal standards. The document also examines the successes and limitations of different e-commerce models like B2C and factors important for a successful e-commerce business model such as value proposition, revenue model, market opportunity, and competitive advantage.
Will Open Banking trigger the API of Me? (Chris Wood)Nordic APIs
This is a session given by Chris Wood at Nordic APIs 2016 Platform Summit on October 26th, in Stockholm Sweden.
Description:
The personal data network, often referred to as the “API of Me” is a concept that has been around for a few years and aims to empower consumers by putting them in control of their data. One of the key data sources to help realise the benefit of the personal data network is bank account data which to date has been notoriously difficult to access without web scraping. However, initiatives such as PSD2 may motivate banks to deliver open APIs that will help unlock consumer. This talk takes a look at how open banking will spur the development of the API of Me and what benefit this might deliver for consumers.
E-procurement involves the online purchase and sale of supplies, work, and services between businesses and governments. Public sector organizations use e-procurement to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve transparency in procurement processes. E-procurement provides cost savings through automation and consolidation of the purchase process under a single online system, making it easier to track from beginning to end. However, implementing e-procurement requires a financial investment in software and getting employees to adopt the new electronic system can be difficult.
The document defines e-commerce as the use of the internet for the purchase and sale of goods and services, including support after the sale. It outlines the key differences between e-commerce and traditional commerce, noting that e-commerce uses internet technology for automated processing of transactions while traditional commerce relies on in-person, phone, or mail interactions. The benefits of e-commerce are described as market expansion, reduced costs, improved customer service and increased productivity for organizations, as well as convenience and choice for consumers. Limitations include lack of security, reliability issues due to rapid software changes, and technical infrastructure requirements for vendors.
This document presents information on e-commerce. It defines e-commerce as the purchase and sale of goods and services using electronic systems like the Internet. The document outlines different types of e-commerce models including B2B, B2C, C2C, B2G, and M-commerce. It also lists opportunities like global markets and reduced costs, as well as challenges such as security issues. In conclusion, e-commerce allows businesses to create new offerings and improve existing products using electronic technologies.
- Integrating the businesses could create synergies by sharing resources and leveraging existing customer relationships, but may also introduce complexity
- Keeping the businesses separate allows them to develop customized strategies for different customer segments and market dynamics
- The core competencies, target customers, product offerings, and business models of the traditional vs Internet business should be evaluated to determine the best organizational structure
- An integrated structure may be preferable if there are significant overlaps, while separate structures work better for businesses with different competencies, customers, or markets

Why Are E-commerce Trends so Important?
Digital payments are becoming the norm as customers increasingly rely on digital services and conduct transactions online rather than with physical cards or cash. Key trends include the growth of peer-to-peer and business-to-business digital payments, tokenization standards, smart point-of-sale devices, and passive contactless payments. Payment providers face both opportunities and threats from new digital technologies and entrants, and must transform their organizations, technologies, and business models to keep up with rapidly changing customer expectations and remain competitive in the digital landscape.
E-commerce allows businesses and individuals to buy and sell goods and services over electronic networks like the internet. There are several types of e-commerce including business-to-consumer, business-to-business, and consumer-to-consumer. E-commerce provides benefits such as global reach, cost reductions, customization, and improved customer relationships. It also benefits customers through more products and services, instant delivery, and cheaper options.
This document discusses the different types of e-commerce systems, including B2B, B2C, C2B, and C2C. B2B refers to business-to-business e-commerce, which makes up about 80% of e-commerce transactions. B2C involves businesses selling directly to consumers online. C2B allows consumers to post projects and solicit bids from companies. C2C enables individuals to buy and sell from each other using online payment systems. The document also briefly mentions several other types like m-commerce, government-to-government, and government-to-citizen e-commerce.

Global e-business faces important challenges related to globalization, culture, and language. Companies engaged in the global market can increase revenues but must ensure their websites respect various cultures. Effective global e-business requires considering issues like cultural differences, providing translations into multiple languages using machine or human translators, determining profitability in new markets, pricing in local currencies, and navigating tariffs and quotas set by governments. Proper understanding of these challenges is key to removing geographic barriers and successfully expanding business internationally online.
Software companies have been moving into the payments space over the last few years in a major way. A number of vertical software companies have embedded payments functionality into their solutions – creating a better experience for end-users, businesses and their customers – and are capturing economics in the process. Other software companies have built payments solutions addressing vertical specific pain points. In doing so, they have been able to take market share from generic horizontal providers and open greenfield opportunities.

How to Build Data Governance Programs That Lasts: A Business-First ApproachPrecisely
Data analytics and Artificial Intelligence play an increasingly pivotal role in most modern organizations. To keep those initiatives on track, enterprises must roll out data governance programs to ensure optimal business value. Data governance has become a fundamental element of success, a key to establishing the component of the data integrity framework in any business. The most successful data governance programs use a business-first approach, delivering quick wins and cultivating sustained success throughout the organization. Unfortunately, many organizations neglect to implement such programs until they experience a negative event that highlights the absence of good data governance. That could be a data breach, a breakdown in data quality, or a compliance action that highlights the lack of effective controls. Once that happens, there are several different paths a data governance initiative might take. A typical scenario often plays out this way: The executive team calls for implementation of a company-wide data governance program. The newly-minted data governance team forges ahead, engaging business users throughout the organization and expecting that everyone will be aligned around a common purpose.

Financial Services - New Approach to Data Management in the Digital Eraaccenture
How current is your data management strategy? As technology—and the requirements and business drivers around it—changes, financial services firms will need to change their approach to data management. To guide your approach, see the three building blocks to Accenture’s data management framework covered in this presentation.
Data analytics tools help organizations derive insights from vast amounts of data, enabling informed decision-making, identifying trends and patterns, personalizing customer experiences, optimizing processes, and driving innovation and competitive advantage.
This document discusses how companies can balance speed and risk through test automation. It provides an example of a successful automation journey where a company started with a small automation project and gradually expanded usage. The keys to success included executive support, strong metrics, and communication. The document emphasizes thinking strategically about automation and measuring the right business outcomes. Automation should be used to drive agility across the entire change management cycle. Success requires collaboration between IT, QA, and the business to prioritize the most important areas for the company.
Using Data-Driven Agile Automation to Advance Digital TransformationPrecisely
Digital business refers to a vision of enterprises that are continually transforming their operational models. This paradigm connects every process into a feedback loop that is self-monitoring, self-regulating, and self-healing.
Automation is the heart of digital business, but so is continual augmentation of human productivity. For modern enterprises, the centerpiece is an agile approach that some refer to as “hyperautomation.” At heart, this refers to operational unification of established methodologies—such as business process management (BPM) and event-triggered workflows—with newer techniques such as robotic process automation (RPA) and AI/ML-automated decision optimization.
Join TDWI’s senior research director James Kobielus and invited guest Andrew Hayden from Precisely on this webinar to explore how to use hyperautomation to power continuous digital business transformation. They will discuss such core principles as:
Orchestration of complex processes that leverage blends of BPM, RPA, AI/ML-guided process management, and other approaches to process automation Consolidation and mining of process intelligence to track key performance indicators and drive analytics to continually sense, predict, adapt to, and respond to changing process events, issues, and contexts Empowering business-level process developers through self-service low-code tools for building process automation logicIncorporating human-in-the-loop processes to speed response to issues, bottlenecks, and exceptional circumstances Monitoring and auditing real-time process status through interactive dashboards, event-triggered alerts, process metric logs, and other observability tools
Does your staff lose time and patience searching for information, client files and documents? Organizing, storing, searching for and retrieving documents should be easy to do, yet few firms have a well-planned document management strategy in place.
The right document management system can improve your firm’s efficiency, accuracy, and ultimately, profitability. But in order to achieve a good return on investment from any new document management system, you’ll need a solid workflow and process.
Achieving Operational Efficiency and Effectiveness with Digital Transformatio...Appian
This document discusses how digital transformation can help achieve operational efficiency and effectiveness in healthcare payers. It describes how legacy systems, manual processes, and rising costs are driving the need for digital transformation. New approaches like workflow automation, integrating clinical and financial data on new software platforms, and low-code application development can help drive cost savings and efficiencies. However, two-thirds of digital transformations fail due to barriers like outdated culture and skills in IT organizations. The document advocates using a low-code platform approach to accelerate digital transformation across various functions like provider data management, utilization review, and claims modernization.

As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
