This document summarizes a math lesson taught in English to non-native English speaking students. It describes three activities: 1) calculating percentages by painting squares on a worksheet, 2) playing dominoes using percentage equivalencies, and 3) playing a computer game about percentages. The students were engaged and used English to communicate and justify their answers, showing that math can be taught in a second language effectively. The domino activity was most successful in getting the students to think and explain their reasoning in English. Overall, the 50-minute lesson showed that the students were able to learn in English and were satisfied with the class.
