- Teaching approach: communicative approach
- Materials and resources: Label names-shapes in different size-poster- audio
- Seating arrangement: Part of the time sitting on their chairs and another standing
up.
- Possible problems/difficulties and their possible solutions during the class:
Students may not understand all the instructions in English, so fist I will Tell them
in English and after that I will explain in their native Language.
Students have lunch at school because it is a school with “Doble Jornada”. The
bell rings at 12:05 to students get ready to eat at 12:15.
I am afraid of not having enough time to develop all the lesson.
- Potential problems students may have with the language:
Students may be not pronounced good at all.
- Assessment: I will check that they identify shapes correctly and recognize the
order of the sentences.
Routine 10’:
I will enter to the room and greet students: Hello! How are you?
I will introduce myself: My name is Flavia.
Then I will ask them to stand up and sing a “Hello song”.

After the song, I will ask student’s names and give a label to hang in their overalls

- Warm up 8’:
Teacher will hide different shapes around the classroom before students enter to
the room.
Teacher will explain that students are going to go on a treasure hunt to find shapes
T: Listen! There are some shapes hiding around the classroom (teacher will show
and example from each one). Stand up and look for them. Then coming and glue
in blackboard in groups.
(Note: I don’t know If students will understand, I will try to give instructions in
English, then in Spanish)
I will give some minutes to find and glue.
Transition: Ok Well done!! Now look at the blackboard.
- Presentation 6’:
Teacher will ask to look at the blackboard all the shapes that they have glued
there.
She will ask them if they know the names. First in English, then in their mother
tongue.
T: Do you know their names? Conocen los nombres?
S: yes S: No
Teacher will present the shapes in English and will ask them to look for an object
one of the same shape.
T: Ok! Look at this! (Point to the circle) It’s a circle!!! Find a circle in the room!!
S: alla seño! S:Eso seño!
T: Excellent! Very Good!! Now listen! (teacher mimes)
T: Look at this! (Point to the triangle) It’s a triangle!!! Find a triangle in the room!
S: Seño Seño alla!! S: alla seño
T: excellent!!! Look at this! (Point to the square) It’s a square! Find a square in the
room!
S: aca seño S: eso seño
T: Very good! Look at this! (Point to the rectangle) It’s a rectangle! Find a rectangle
in the room!!
Transition: Excellent!!! You found many things!!
- Practice 6’:
4. Teacher will give a square, triangle, rectangle and circle to each student.
They should listen and put in the correct order while they listen. Then glue on their
notebooks.
Teacher will play the audio two times and before they glue the shapes, she will
check that students have done it right.
T: take the shapes. Listen and put them in order as you hear them.
(Again, I will explain in English fist and then in their native language.)

-Production 6’:
Teacher will display a poster with many shapes. Teacher will ask students to describe
the shape that she points out.
T: Look at this poster! Name what I point out!
(I’m not sure if this will be the poster, depends on how big I can make it. However, it will
be something similar)

-Closure 5’:
I will put the shapes on the blackboard. Students should watch them carefully. Then
they should close their eyes and teacher takes away a shape. Students now can watch
and teacher will encourage to name the shape which is missing. She will ask them
What’s missing? (this is a game that students know). Teacher can change the shape
as many times as possible.
