Main Aims: 
· Students will learn how to describe parts of the body of animals with have 
got/haven’t got 
Personal Aims: 
· We will try to use chorus repetition when dealing with new items of 
vocabulary. 
Materials: 
· Photocopies. 
· Cardboards. 
· Animal images. 
· Beamer, headphones. 
Anticipated problems: 
· Students may find it difficult to write a short text describing an animal 
Possible Solutions: 
· We give them more examples apart from the ones on the powerpoint and 
explain them the structure to use have got / haven’t got as many times as 
they need. 
PROCEDURES 
1) Warm-up activities:

a) We give the students who were absent last class, the photocopy about parts 
of the body of the animals and we make a quick revision of the meanings of 
the new vocabulary with the help of the cardboards. 
b) We watch a clip from the Lion King film asking students to focus on particular 
animals because then they will have to describe them.

Animals in the video: Lions, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, rhinos, zebras, 
giraffes, hippos, monkeys, crocodiles, anteaters. (write on the board) 
2) Main Activity: 
a) After we watched the video, we show students how to write a brief 
description using have got /haven’t got. For this we will present brief 
descriptions of three different animals in a powerpoint presentation. 
These ones will also be delivered to the students in photocopies in 
order for them to have the examples on their folders. Then, they will 
have to choose one of the characters they saw in the clip and write 
sentences about it. ( 35’)
