*There is no previous knowledge, they have to start from the beginning.
• Materials and resources: pictures, posters and books
• Integration of skills: listening and speaking
• Seating arrangement: all around a big table or on the floor
• Possible problems / difficulties and their possible solutions during the
class: problems with the integrated child (he doesn’t behave frequently),
but there will be a teacher in charge of the kid.
• Potential problems students may have with the language: to understand
the meaning of this is.
• Assessment: their ability to recognize the colors through painting some
pictures.
Warm up (5’)
I say hello to the children, we sing the hello song, and I ask them to sit
down on the floor around me and make silence.
The purpose here is to catch their attention. The hello song says “hello
children, hello children, how are you? How are you? How are you this
morning? How are you this morning? Fine, thanks; fine, thanks”
Presentation (5’)
Activity 1
Once the children are on the floor with me, I’ll show them a big red card,
with the word RED written on it. Then, while I show them the card, I will
say “what color is it?” and as they won’t know the answer I’ll say “it is
red”. Then, I’ll do the same with a yellow and a blue card. The purpose is
to make them repeat the colors and, if it is possible, the whole sentence “it
is…”
Development (15')
Activity 2
I’ll show them different pictures (a flower, a car, a bird) and I’ll ask them,
“what color is it?” waiting for their answers. Once more, the aim here is to
make them recognize the colors but this time with a different material.
Activity 3
Now, I’ll ask students to sit around a big table they have in the classroom,
and I’ll handle each of them a book that is full of pictures you can paint. I’ll
select a picture at random (observing students’ preferences), and I’ll ask
them to paint it with red, for example, and then with yellow (this is in case
they have to paint a flower, the boys can paint a car and a sun).
The aim of this activity is to make them relax as at this stage they
won’t want to pay attention anymore, so they can do what they love but
without forgetting what have been taught.
Closure (5’)
I ask the children to please put the books in their place (they are used to do
it), and I simply say goodbye to them as they don’t know any song yet.

Function Lexis Structure Pronunciation Revision * * * * New - Primary colors - Recognizing primary colors from different pictures - It is yellow - It is blue - It is red I won't ask them for proper pronunciation this time. *There is no previous knowledge, they have to start from the beginning. • Materials and resources: pictures, posters and books • Integration of skills: listening and speaking • Seating arrangement: all around a big table or on the floor • Possible problems / difficulties and their possible solutions during the class: problems with the integrated child (he doesn’t behave frequently), but there will be a teacher in charge of the kid. • Potential problems students may have with the language: to understand the meaning of this is. • Assessment: their ability to recognize the colors through painting some pictures. Warm up (5’) I say hello to the children, we sing the hello song, and I ask them to sit down on the floor around me and make silence. The purpose here is to catch their attention. The hello song says “hello children, hello children, how are you? How are you? How are you this morning? How are you this morning? Fine, thanks; fine, thanks” Presentation (5’) Activity 1
  • 3. Once the children are on the floor with me, I’ll show them a big red card, with the word RED written on it. Then, while I show them the card, I will say “what color is it?” and as they won’t know the answer I’ll say “it is red”. Then, I’ll do the same with a yellow and a blue card. The purpose is to make them repeat the colors and, if it is possible, the whole sentence “it is…” Development (15') Activity 2 I’ll show them different pictures (a flower, a car, a bird) and I’ll ask them, “what color is it?” waiting for their answers. Once more, the aim here is to make them recognize the colors but this time with a different material. Activity 3 Now, I’ll ask students to sit around a big table they have in the classroom, and I’ll handle each of them a book that is full of pictures you can paint. I’ll select a picture at random (observing students’ preferences), and I’ll ask them to paint it with red, for example, and then with yellow (this is in case they have to paint a flower, the boys can paint a car and a sun). The aim of this activity is to make them relax as at this stage they won’t want to pay attention anymore, so they can do what they love but without forgetting what have been taught. Closure (5’) I ask the children to please put the books in their place (they are used to do it), and I simply say goodbye to them as they don’t know any song yet.
