MUSIC OF ART AND ART OF MUSIC: the fantasy
world of European children
 The main aim is to inspire children using work by famous artists
 Children are exploring their creativity and improving their fine motive skills
 They are discovering different ways of creating art work by mixing a selection of
colours as well as dealing with new textures and shapes
 Throughout this project the children are successfully expressing themselves
through art
 Children are also extending their vocabulary by talking about their art and similar
topics
Shapes
Children are exploring shapes as well as their
sizes and learning about cause and effect.

Textures
Children are exploring different textures and
colours and improving their fine motor skills.
Textures
Closing Lines
Children are improving their penmanship and hand &
eye co-ordination by learning to stay within parameters.
Moving Point
Children are improving their concentration and hand
& eye co-ordination by linking dots.
The Point and Pointillism
Children are developing how multiple dots can create an
image. This helps them to focus, to improve their
concentration and to learn how to interpret what they see.
Earth Day
Children are developing how old materials can be changed to different
things. They also explore how to save the environment by using recycled
resources to create art.
By talking about some background information they extend their
vocabulary and learn about the ozone as well as how to save the
environment.
Observation
‘… the art project is about different themes is about different themes in the art and how the pre-
school children will interpret their own choice of design…’
‘… some of the two year old children are able to hold pencil effectively now … with other themes
like moving point and closing line children choose their own design … and they could explain
confidently about their own work…’
‘… the older children of three years are able independently to form 2D shapes like circles and
squares only in looking at the sample picture and listen to the adult instructions …’
‘… all the children who took part in the art project learn about shapes, colours, different way of
draw lines and understanding their movements and thinking critically while they do that…’
‘… They also explore a new way of how to create their own art work and all of them seem to
enjoy themselves and they show a great interest in this art project…’
Observation
 Naomi, 2 years old, holds a pencil effectively and while copying the moving
point she says it is a garden.
 Imaan, 2 years old, (without adult support) is forming a half circle and many
small circles. Imaan confidently says: ‘Teacher look at my circle – is a blue
and is for mummy’
 Kenzo, 3 years old, chooses different colours (moving point) and he said it is a
flower
 Teodora, 4 years old, shows keen interest to complete even corners (moving
point)

  • 3. Shapes Children are exploring shapes as well as their sizes and learning about cause and effect.
  • 5. Textures Children are exploring different textures and colours and improving their fine motor skills.
  • 7. Closing Lines Children are improving their penmanship and hand & eye co-ordination by learning to stay within parameters.
  • 8. Moving Point Children are improving their concentration and hand & eye co-ordination by linking dots.
  • 9. The Point and Pointillism Children are developing how multiple dots can create an image. This helps them to focus, to improve their concentration and to learn how to interpret what they see.
  • 10. Earth Day Children are developing how old materials can be changed to different things. They also explore how to save the environment by using recycled resources to create art. By talking about some background information they extend their vocabulary and learn about the ozone as well as how to save the environment.
  • 11. Observation ‘… the art project is about different themes is about different themes in the art and how the pre- school children will interpret their own choice of design…’ ‘… some of the two year old children are able to hold pencil effectively now … with other themes like moving point and closing line children choose their own design … and they could explain confidently about their own work…’ ‘… the older children of three years are able independently to form 2D shapes like circles and squares only in looking at the sample picture and listen to the adult instructions …’ ‘… all the children who took part in the art project learn about shapes, colours, different way of draw lines and understanding their movements and thinking critically while they do that…’ ‘… They also explore a new way of how to create their own art work and all of them seem to enjoy themselves and they show a great interest in this art project…’
  • 12. Observation  Naomi, 2 years old, holds a pencil effectively and while copying the moving point she says it is a garden.  Imaan, 2 years old, (without adult support) is forming a half circle and many small circles. Imaan confidently says: ‘Teacher look at my circle – is a blue and is for mummy’  Kenzo, 3 years old, chooses different colours (moving point) and he said it is a flower  Teodora, 4 years old, shows keen interest to complete even corners (moving point)
