Lesson 5 1_
1. 14
________________________________ Lesson 5: I use to go out everyday.
Read the conversation below:
Isabel: So, how long have you lived
here in Colombia?
Ben: It’s been 9 years already.
Isabel: And how is life here different
from life in Canada?
Ben: It’s quite different. When I lived
in Canada I used to stay indoors much
time because the weather is cold most
of the year. Now I use to go out more
often.
Isabel: I see. And what did you and
your family use to do when you were
home?
Ben: I used to practice the guitar, my
brother used to play videogames, and
my parents used to read and watch
TV.
Isabel: And now what do you use to
do?
Ben: Well, I use to come to the beach
very often.
Isabel: Does you brother use to come
to the beach, too?
Ben: No, he doesn’t. He still uses to
play videogames a lot.
Isabel: And your parents, what do
they use to do?
Ben: They use to practice sports a lot.
And what do you use to do?
Isabel: I use to study a lot, read books,
listen to music…
Ben: I use to like beautiful Colombian
girls like you!
Isabel: Awwww!

Read the following text and answer the questions below
My name is Jenny Torres, I used to be my nephews’ nanny, I used to like playing and dancing
with them, often we used to go to the park run around it, jumping and laughing a lot. Sometimes
we ate a lot of ice cream. We didn’t use to be in the park after 6, because it used to be very cold
and often dangerous, so we used to go home to read fantasy stories, because we used to like
them, we don’t use to watch horror stories, because we can’t sleep. I always used to help them
with their school homework; we really used to like math because we use to love it, but we don’t
use to like history because sometimes it uses to be boring, but now we are trying to read a little
more about it. We use to watch funny movies, we like preparing popcorn. We also use to enjoy
preparing different kinds of desserts, like cookies.
