Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath born in 1452 in Vinci, Italy who worked as a painter, sculptor, architect, and engineer. Some of his most famous works include the Mona Lisa painting, which he worked on for over three years, and his scientific notebooks containing thousands of drawings and notes on anatomy, astronomy, and inventions like early designs for flying machines. He died in 1519 in France.
