Leonardo Da Vinci was an artist, inventor, and scientist from Florence, Italy who lived from 1452 to 1519. He apprenticed under Andrea del Verrocchio and learned painting, sculpture, and techniques of artistic creation. Some of Da Vinci's most famous works include the Mona Lisa painting and plans for inventions like a bicycle and flying machine, though he is best known today for his artistic works and his role as a scientist and inventor ahead of his time.

was born in the Tuscan Village of Vinci in 1452. He died in 1519.
Da Vinci was a graceful, vigorous child. His father allowed him to enter as an
apprentice in the workshop of Andrea del Verrocchio. Throughout the six years
that the painters' guild prescribed as instruction before being recognized as a
free artist, Leonardo learned painting, sculpture and techniques and mechanics of
artistic creation. The first work of him that has certain news was the
construction of the sphere of copper projected by Brunelleschi to crown the
church of Santa Maria dei Fiori. At the age of 20 he painted “El Bautismo de
Cristo”. Until he was 38 he invented the bike, but it was only the plans.
Eventually he creates the Air Screw but it didn´t fly. During his lifetime Da Vinci
was a war engineer and he sold his armament to the army. These days he is
famous for his inventions and his paintings. Two of his best-known paintings are
“La Mona Lisa” and “El Bautismo de Cristo”.
