Crafting an essay on the subject of cannabis legalization is not without its challenges. The topic
itself is multifaceted, involving legal, social, economic, and medical aspects, each demanding a
comprehensive understanding. Navigating through the intricate web of arguments for and
against legalization requires meticulous research to present a balanced and informed perspective.
One of the hurdles lies in addressing the diverse viewpoints surrounding cannabis legalization.
Different stakeholders, including policymakers, medical professionals, activists, and the general
public, often hold contrasting opinions shaped by their unique perspectives. As a writer, it
becomes crucial to delve into these perspectives and construct a coherent narrative that respects
the complexity of the issue.
Furthermore, the ever-evolving nature of cannabis legislation and research adds another layer of
difficulty. Staying abreast of the latest developments in the legal landscape, scientific studies,
and societal attitudes is essential to produce an essay that reflects the most current and relevant
information.
While exploring the topic, one must also be conscious of potential biases and stereotypes
associated with cannabis. Addressing these preconceptions requires a nuanced approach to
ensure a fair and objective analysis of the subject matter.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the legalization of cannabis demands careful consideration of
multiple facets and the ability to synthesize diverse perspectives. It is an intricate process that
necessitates thorough research, critical thinking, and an awareness of societal nuances. Despite

Diction In Blackberry-Picking By Seamus Heaney
In Seamus Heaney s poem, Blackberry Picking , the author utilizes diction,
alliteration, and rhyme in order to express his discontent in how greedy people can
become when they desire something. Heaney wishes to present this idea to his
reader through very aggressive diction. The poet juxtaposed the summer s blood (7)
in his poem with the juice, or blood of blackberries, admiring the fruitfor its addicting
taste which reawakens his temptation every summer. Had Heaney chosen weaker
diction in this metaphor, the individual reading this poem would not feel such
powerful emotions towards Heaney s message about nature s fragility when injured
by human greed. Also, Heaney associates blood with the juice of the berries since
humans need blood to live, but there are times when... Show more content on

When hiking out to gather them, Heaney describes how the briars scratched (10)
their wet boots. In this line, the reader s mind is brought to a wooded area that
seems friendly and hospitable except for the clawing briars and bleaching water. It
is unmistakable how tiring the work can be, but the poet never mentions his
exhaustion. While it takes a great deal of effort to pick berries, they still seem to
be fragile to the point that they are annually torn down by the claws of greed. Also,
the poet explains how their hands were peppered/ with thorn pricks (15 16), as the
repeated p sound places a dimension of anger and pent up rage to the poem s tone.
The reader up to be pained by the ruined berries, turned into a fleeting memory from
their former grace as they become largely forgotten and wasted if they are not eaten
immediately. Similarly, the poet points out that unsuppressed desire can lead to this
type of selfishness, and can prove to be dangerous if permitted for a long

Constitution Dbq
When the America was given their independence from the Great Britain, Americans
have created a government that were distinct from the previous governments. The
writers of the Constitution were worried about Tyranny, since The Articles of
Confederation had numerous weaknesses. It gave too much power to the King and
the King had the absolute power, tyranny: a form of government in which the ruler is
an absolute dictator. The meeting that the writers of the Constitutions, delegates,

Checks and balances make sures that no one branch of government becomes too
powerful, each branch has some control over the actions of the other branches. In
document C, the powers that the legislative branch has over the executive branch is
that the legislative can override the president s veto (kills a bill). The power over
judicial is that the legislature can propose constitutional amendments. The checks the
executive branch has over the legislative and judicial branches that are stated in

the judicial branch can declare (rule) that law or executive act/ orders are

Application Of Delay Tolerant Network Essay
Abstract A class of wireless network is represented by Delay Tolerant Networks
(DTNs) that experience regular and long lasting partitions due to light distribution
of nodes in the network topology. In DTN, store carry forward mechanism is used
for packets routing. In this paper, for performance evaluation three popular routing
protocols are used namely; Epidemic, Direct Delivery and First contact. The
performance of these routing protocols generates a new subarea movement model
based on the splitting of network simulation area. Keywords: Delay Tolerant
Network (DTN), The ONE (Opportunistic Network) simulator, Movement Models,
Routing protocols, TTL (time to live). 1. Introduction Delay Tolerant Network
(DTN) represents a class of wireless networks that has no connected path between a
source and the destination. The network is partitioned into several sub networks in
DTN. DTNs represent a class of wireless systems with no infrastructure and support
the functionality of networks experiencing recurrent and long lasting partitions.
Delay tolerant networking [1] has received major attention in recent years. Since in
DTN, the destination path is not connected, so the main purpose here is to find the
intermediate nodes for routing the packets [2, 3]. When two nodes come in contact
with each other, they may exchange the packets and such an occasion is known as
encounter. In DTN, store carry forward model is used for packet delivery. According
to this model, each node along the

Fair And Balance Argument Analysis
The facts to this are that FOX news channel is notorious for being a conservative
news channel. They report one sided toward conservative views and arguing
against the liberal side on a regular basis. The slogan fair and balanced is not a
good representation of words, which simply describe what the news channel gives
their viewers. It would make much more sense for the station to take Haddock s
advice and change the slogan to something like perspective that better describes the
station. FOX news is not giving fair and balanced information to their viewers but
rather they are showing them the perspective of the conservative side. The slogan
fair and balanced also is not supporting the individual values of the viewers, but
rather they reporters are talking about and arguing for what they value. In order for
the station to truly be fair and balanced they need to argue for and against topics on
both the liberal and the conservative side. If this is not something that FOX news is
willing to change then... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the reporters job to keep their personally thoughts on a topic to themselves and
give the reader/viewer a change to decide for themselves which side they support
more. Anyone who has never seen FOX news would think that everything they are
saying is fair and balanced between liberal and conservative, which would cause
them to develop a more conservative bias on the topic. FOX is not giving people a
chance to hear the good and the bad about both sides, but rather they are hearing
the good of the conservative side, and the bad of the liberal. As media
practitioners, it is their job to make sure that the viewers have the freedom to form
an opinion free of bias. Since FOX news tends to go one way more than the other, it
makes much more sense to use perspective . By doing this they are showing the
viewers that this is just one perspective of the
India s A Growing Economic System
For this research report, I want to further the understanding of the Indian attitude,
external opportunities and threats of entrepreneurship, and how the International
world and India is progressing with entrepreneurs. I have an interest in being in
working internationally, after gaining more experience in the corporate/sales area of
a company, which is one of the reasons I chose to explore this topic on an
international level. This paper will cover some basics of entrepreneurship in India.
In India they have a growing economic system. Global Edge states that in 2011,
India s estimated GDP was $1.843 trillion with 7.8% growth (Global Edge). Then
another measurement was taken in 2013; according to the CIA, India s GDP is about

Although India has some of the biggest billionaires living there, more than 30%
50% of the people in India live below the poverty line on about 50 cents a day. It is
a high poverty rate, the highest among all the BRIC countries. In India this
problem is growing and becoming more unbalanced. This is an issue because of
the caste system in India. This castes system makes it extremely difficult for one to
change social classes. Women also have a problem when trying to break into the
workplace, because it is something that is seen as taboo. I recall in a TED TALK
that was shown in a class of mine, it showed how women and lower class citizens
of India were learning about IT and how they were being taught simple key logging
types of work in hopes of the availability of the jobs will help balance the distribution
of income through the lower classes.
The key sectors of the company in India are listed as agriculture (17.4%), industry
(25.8%), and services (56.9%). Many belonging to the lower class in India are
farmers and they spend quite some time selling their produce which proves to be a
difficult tasks since many rural areas do not have the means to provide efficient
transportation (i.e. underdeveloped roads). Because of this, many of their produce go
bad/expire before they make it to the market. The main agricultural products that are
produced in India are rice, wheat, oilseed, cotton, jute, tea, sugarcane, lentils, onions,
potatoes; dairy products,

quote was in a book by a once lost soul that did not know what was to come of his

illustrator, even after questioning what he was going to become. Although he was

He left a legacy on this earth that will forever be remembered. Dr. Seuss s books
have a story line that related to the problems in the world that were taking place.
For example, The Lorax was all about the environmental issues that were present at
that time. Geisel s books helped kids to learn about these issues, but his books
were written in a kid friendly way. By the early 21st century, Seuss s books have
sold over 600 million copies worldwide (Encyclopedia Britannica). In his lifetime,
Geisel wrote about 44 children s books, created many cartoons, and even wrote
scripts for films and movies (Seuss In Springfield). In 2004, Seuss was even on a
postage stamp in remembrance of all of his great work (Poetry Foundation). When
Geisel died, he had some unpublished books that his widowed wife published for
him. One of these books was, What Pet Should I Get (Encyclopedia Britannica).
This goes to show just how much Theodor Seuss Geisel has left behind on this earth
and how big of an impact he had on us
Irish Culture
MY DISCOVERY OF IRELAND
WHAT MAKES IRISH CULTURE POPULAR WORLDWIDE?
I am of Ireland,
And the Holy Land of Ireland,
And time runs on, cried she.
Come out of charity,
Come dance with me in Ireland.
William Butler Yeats
My first encounter with Ireland and its culture was rather trivial. I saw some Irish
dancing and was fascinated by its rigor, energy, and emotional charge. I am not a
dancer myself but Irish dances that I saw on TV made me want to get on my feet and
start tap dancing.
Unfortunately, at our English classes at school we mostly study the history and
traditions of Great Britain. We have not had any special lessons devoted to Ireland
yet. I was surprised to learn that the Emerald Isle is a unique country with its ... Show

For example, anyone can participate in St Patrick s parades or try Irish dancing.
Other reasons of the world wide obsession with the Irish culture are its beauty,
freshness and originality. Original , fresh and beautiful are the words which come
to my mind when I read a poem by W.B. Yeats, watch an Irish dance, see a colorful
St Patrick s procession or listen to Irish traditional music. Despite its international
popularity Irish culture on the whole retains its uniqueness and authentic spirit. That
is why people around the world still see Ireland as a spiritual reservoir and turn to
Irish culture when they need to feed their souls.
In the era of globalization when boundaries between countries and nations are
becoming more and more blurred, it is really important to preserve and promote
your own culture. The Irish are very good at it. They have managed to make their
culture a visiting card. Although some people say that Irish culture is losing its
authenticity and is becoming commercialized, I don t see it that way. By weaving
traditional elements into popular culture the Irish make more people familiar with
their country. For instance, some popular songs by U2 contain traditional Irish
melodies. Songs like In the Name of the Father , Tomorrow , or The Ballad of
Ronnie Drew are really Irish despite their rock and pop style. The
The Group Islamic State Of Iraq And Levant
The group Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) is a jihadist group predominantly
active in the Middle Eastern countries of Iraq and Syria. In addition, the (ISIL)
group is also attempting to gain authority over other countries in the neighboring
region of Turkey, Jordan, Israel, and Iran. The Islamic State of Iraq and Levant s
expansion is fueled by political aspirations legitimized through fundamentalist Sunni
views of religion. They claim that they are a religious movement that will establish
once and for all, a universalist Islamic identity under the supreme leader, Al
Baghdadi who has self proclaimed the title of Caliph, the rightful political and
religious ruler of the universal Ummah. These actions have unleashed a wave of
new violence against minority, ethnic, and religious groups as well as the beheading
of several Western journalists and citizens. Their methods of coercion and violence
are aimed at the fragmented political and religious groups trying to make sense of a
regional sectarian conflict that has claimed millions of lives and displaced millions
more into refugee sanctuaries. Furthermore, their movement is a response to Western
political ideologies that have imposed political, social, and cultural norms that are
inconsistent with Islamic religious views. First, through the Colonialist experience,
and later through post colonial, Cold War, post Cold War and post 9/11 events. In
my opinion, the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant is trying to accomplish
Billy Budd Analysis
Billy Budd is the story of the sailor Billy Budd and his time on the H.M.S
Bellipotent during the last decade of the 18th century, after being impressed from
the previous ship he was on The Rights of Man . He was seen as a handsome sailor ,
and was loved by his old crew. He was also innocent to a fault. This man could not
see the bador suspicious in someone at all. In the context of this novel, he was the
purest good in this ship, which could also be seen as a microcosm of the world as
it was. Billy as a whole is seen mainly as a man without fault. He could do no wrong
in his world, because he is the personification of all that is good. This makes his
one flaw, that being his stutter, the perfect aspect of his being to show us of the
dangers of innocence. The fact that he cannot bring words out to defend himself
against the malice tossed at him because his very being will not allow him to even
comprehend that there are people in the world with such ill intent. Ill intent does not
exist to him, and it ultimately proved to be his undoing. As if almost a flip of a
coin, Claggart can be seen as the complete opposite than that of Billy. An ugly man,
in both the figurative and literal sense, Claggart s innate malice is without cause or
limit. While Billy lacks the awareness of the differences of human actions and the
intentions behind them, Claggart knows these differences all too well. He has a great
understanding of deception and ambiguity that he uses to hide his real
Lightning Thief Themes
The first book of Percy Jackson and The Olympians series is called The Lightning
Thief. I chose this book due to its several themes that are unique. The Lightning
Thief has several different themes such as discovering identity, family, and
versions of reality. There are plenty of more themes in the book, but those are the
most important ones. The first theme in The Lightning Thief is discovering
identity. The main character, Percy, is left with barely any knowledge of his
father, and is sent from one boarding school to another. He is stuck believing that
he is unwanted, and that he is stupid because of his dyslexia. On a field trip, Percy
discovers that his math teacher isn t what she seems and is actually out to kill
him, and his Greek professor isn t at all a human. Percy then discovers that he is a
demigod and is actually the son of the Greek god Poseidon. After learning this,
Percy realizes that he is a hero who will save the world. Percy goes from an average

Although he doesn t get to see her much he still loves her more than anything and
would do anything to keep her safe, like fighting the minotaur. He spends the

save his mother from his stepdad, Smelly Gabe , who hurts his mother. Although
Percy doesn t have a lot of real family, he meets a lot of friends who become like
family to him. Percy learns that his fatal flaw is caring too much, yet he still does
everything he can for his family. Family is a main theme in this book, because Percy
realizes how much it means to
Nat Turner s Role In The Abolishment Of Slavery
Some people think his actions are crazy. Other suggest that his actions were rational
and justified. Whether or not you believe either of these, it is certain that Nat Turner
was a revolutionary figure.
Nat Turner played a key role in the abolishment of slavery. He organized the most
notable slave uprising in modern history. Under his leadership, rebellious slaves
killed over 50 white people in August 1831. Although violence should not be
condoned, the brutality of the massacre opened the eyes of Virginians and citizens
across America. The rebellion began to make people see the extent slaves would go
to in order to be freed from their confined lives.
Nat Turner s impact on human history was substantial. His initial goal of freeing his
people of slavery was not accomplished initially. However, his expression of
fearlessness and determination was a key point in the disintegration of slavery 34
years after his death. Ever since the attacks, Nat Turner and his life history have
been well documented. There are so many people that have been affected by Nat
Turner s life. People have been left with questions that cannot be answered about the
rebellion. In order to look for answers to Turner s controversial actions, we look
toward the authors, producers, and historians who have studied Nat Turner and his
life.
Immediately after his capture, Nat Turner delivered his confessions to Thomas R.
Gray. Gray wrote down what Turner told him and published a pamphlet after Turner s
death.

whether participating teachers are curious and eager to learn new skills that will

eager to learn how to infuse advanced technology and also develop an understanding

amount of time available for the researcher to conduct this study, which may also

Therefore, based on the quantitative nature of the study, this investigation is better
outfitted to present a wealthy account of the practice of teaching and learning with
wireless laptops (Skevakis, 2010) within K 12 classrooms, as opposed to a
qualitative or mixed method investigation of the phenomenon (Leedy Ormrod, 2010).
Thus, this study does not suggest that teaching and learning should be limited
exclusively to wireless computing. Significance of the Study The significance of this
proposed study will add to the literature by illustrating a more inclusive picture of the
universal practice of instructing and learning with wireless computing (GaDOE,
2008, Wellings Levine, 2009; Weston Bain, 2010). Although the XYZ school district
is making considerable progress in incorporating technological resources in the
classroom effectively, there is still more work to do on leveraging (GaDOE, 2008)
technology potential. The XYZ district provides teachers with Internet access, online
subscriptions and training on ways to develop digital content (Skevakis, 2010).
However, teachers are not provided with adequate preparation, planning or assistance
to align digital (Skevakis, 2010) resources to the curriculum. This study is unique
because limited studies are available addressing teachers technology attitudes

school and a teacher stopped me and asked, Are you doing cross country. When she
said cross country my eyes opened. This is the first year when you can do cross
country. Then I remembered that It was so far away from now. It s going to be 2
months till practice starts. So later on in middle it was finally time for the first

surprised to see tall, long legged, fast people zooming pass me. Like Usain bolt.
While I admired watching the racers run the coach said, How are you doing young

Characteristics Of Bona Fide For The Audience
Bona Fide for the Audience A step off the podium, an audience in applause, and the
thoughts inside whispering, How did I do? when they should be urging, What did I
give? The good news is that the audience can indeed become the focal point of any
speech if the speaker tailors their message toward it. In this paper, I will analyze three
situational characteristics and three demographics that contribute to the uniqueness
of my audience, explain why these traits matter, and briefly examine the scope of
their limitations in an attempt to understand the art of the invaluable audience
centered speech(Holloway, An Exercise in Audience Analysis ). Nervousness is
linear, at least for me it is. As the audience size increases, I find my nervousness
does as well. People usually have an audience of one every day in their normal
conversations, sometimes that might grow to an audience of two, three, or even four.
As the audience size increases, it s only natural to realize that it s more challenging to
please everyone. Sense of humor, attention span, interests, these are all variable and
unique to each audience member. How then, can this divide be reconciled? The
answer is simple and it s a technique that the education system has embedded in
students minds. Find similarities. Find common ground. (Fraleigh and Tuman, 141).
One way to ensure that the speakeris understandable and relatable to as many
audience members as possible is to utilize a technique called teaching in the middle
(Fraleigh and Tuman, 122). This method roughly calculates the median expertise in
the audience and tailors the speech toward that level. The audience that I will speak
to is large enough (approximately twenty five) to where I certainly need to factor in
this approach. It makes common ground much more achievable, while also humbling
the speaker, which makes for a friendlier relationship with the audience though they
may be more obligatorily than enthusiastically present. In the classroom setting, let s
face it, there are students who are watching the clock, patiently awaiting the end of
class. Yet some teachers have the ability to capture a student s attention so well that
the student might forget all about the time until the end of

Throughout the history of science, there has not been an animal creature that sparked
the human s fantasy as iconographically as the dinosaurs. Extinct from the face Earth

such realization has been possible due to Steven Spilberg s science fiction film

mentions his vision on having actors who could be as naturalistic as possible, instead

be taken in the journey the film proposes; otherwise, the interlocutor would never

As Hester s story in The Scarlet Letter progressed, she became more independent. She
started to question the community s thinking, and decided to accept the sin she
committed rather than live in self pity. Hester did not need to be dependent on a man,
which was not ordinary during this time period. Instead, Hester was dependent on
herself and spent her focus on her daughter or the poor, caring for young Pearl and
attending to the less fortunate. Hester Prynne also began to think more freely, and did
not restrict herself to thinking the same way all the puritans had done. After going
through suffering and embarrassment because of her crime, Hester realized that she
was not enemy, but society was. With the shameful thoughts towards the scarlet letter
on her clothing drifting away, the A had transformed into a symbol of independence,
growth, and how Hester became to be the person she was when she had finally

The interior trim quality and delivery problem
Nature: Tactical and StrategicTiming: Long termand Short Term
Interior trim was provided for each truck in the form of kits that contained a specific
group of sequenced interior trim parts necessary to complete each truck. When kits
were delivered to Navistar assembly, problem arose when assemblers attempted to
assemble the trim into truck, were not able to do so because of missing or
inappropriate interior trim parts. therefore, the subsequent consequences of trim parts
reordering, additional material handling, post assembling resulted in the premium on
direct materials, labor costs and the delivery delay of finished truck.

Quality Issues and Quality Control Procedures
Nature: Tactical and StrategicTiming: Long term and Short Term
Trimco provided 420,000 parts during the course of a year, and of these parts,
approximately 3,100 were defective, missing or inappropriate for installation. Even
because of a lack of centralization and limited computer system capability, trimco had
difficulty monitoring outgoing parts and sometimes send shipments with

Salary Inequality and Performance in Mlb
Salary Inequality and Performance in MLB Introduction/Overview: This paper will
explore the effect of team chemistry on performance in Major League Baseball
(MLB). In the 2000s, the Yankees were a team of great individual talent, however,
their lack of team unity was noticeable. In the playoffs, when heart, guts, and team
chemistry matter greatly, the Yankees fell short and were easily eliminated each year.
It wasn t until 2009, when the Yankees acquired jokester Nick Swisher, prankster AJ
Burnett, and fun loving C.C. Sabathia that the chemistry of the team improved
drastically. Shaving cream pies to the faces of players who got the game winning hit,
and various other team pranks became the norm in the once tense Yankee clubhouse.

Romeo And Juliet 1968 And 1996
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , is the most well known classical piece
of sentimental literature in the world. Throughout the years, it has been adapted
into films by directors from an extensive range of dialect backgrounds. Among
those, Franco Zeffirelli s 1968 version and the modern version directed by Baz
Luhrmann in 1996, are both unquestionably the most successful and popular
variations. Roger Ebert, quoted Franco Zeffirelli s 1968 film version of Romeo and
Juliet stating The success of the film depends upon Whiting and Miss Hussey...They
are magnificent . The leading actors incorporate Leonard Whiting in the role of
Romeo, and Olivia Hussey essentially as Juliet. Peter Travers, quoted Baz Luhrmann

The 1968 adaptation, used reassuring and dignified music to give the viewer a
sense of perception and awareness to the rituals that were commonly explored

What is a Youth was the first arrangement of lyrics by Nino Rota words by Eugene

The props and clothing devoted to both Franco Zeffirelli s and Baz Luhrmann s

selection of costumes were exceptionally customary and traditional. However, within
the 1996 form the costumes had aroused a sensation of interest to the audiences. For
Baz Luhrmann s 1996 film, Romeo and Juliet s costumes were thoroughly picked

Summary Of The City Of Pigs
In the book the Republic Socrates creates a city called the City of Pigs. Socrates
refers to it as the true city, the healthy ones. His companions do not like the idea of
this city. They all come up with a city that they all agree with called the City of
Luxury. They believe this city is good and unbiased. I agree with them, I think the
Cityof Luxury is a better city and is overall more unbiased than the City of Pigs.
The City of Pigs is a peaceful city. Everybody gets along and nobody causes trouble.
Every citizen in this city has their own craft. If the people have a lot of skill and
ability to be really good at their craft they will stay with that craft the rest of their
life. There is no money in this society, everybody contributes by using their craft to
serve the community. There is no greed or envy towards one another. The
craftsman s class are made with builders, farmers, cobblers, carpenters, weavers,
shepherds, smiths, and traders. There is however some sort of currency for trading
goods. This is for everybody to be able to cover their needs of housing, clothing and
food. The people in this city are stable and healthy. Nobody overindulged or was
unhealthy in this society. Socrates believe if people ate healthy and felt good about
themselves, people would strive in society and become more valuable to the
community. They believed that a healthy body and healthy mind equals a successful
life. They would feed themselves meals made of barley, flour and wheat, noble

There is not a segment of American society that does not benefit from public
transportation. It is a fact of life that some portion of the urban population is

Consider for a moment if your elderly mother or grandmother lived in this
neighborhood and could not get about without the help of others. Now consider how
much more self sufficient she would feel if she were able to get out and about on
her own when she needed or wanted. Some form of public transportation is necessary

Stetson. Tonyaa Weathersbee wrote an article in the Florida Times Union titled
Mass Transit Is a Crucial Issue for Working People without Cars where she says
The mass transportation market its riders and potential riders comprises two broad
groups, captive riders and choice riders. Captive transit riders must rely on mass
transit; they do not have an alternative way to travel for some or all of their trips
because an automobile is required but none is available or because they cannot
drive or cannot afford an automobile. Choice riders use transit if it provides service
superior to that of their principal alternative, usually the automobile. Captive and
choice riders have different needs and preferences, and different services can be
designed to accommodate them. The captive riders are the ones that are
disadvantaged and thereby lacking in transportation choices and are the ones in
Deland that are most in need of an additional bus route. Getting a bus line to run near
these neighborhoods is crucial as presently for many the nearest bus stop is a one mile
or more walk through an area with a high crime rate. While many of these
neighborhoods do have sidewalks, if the weather is inclement or a person gets off the
bus after dark, they still must walk one mile, perhaps further from the nearest bus
stop, depending upon the location of home. That is not
Student Financial Aid
Developing and implementing plans for attaining a formal education aimed at
beginning a long term professional endeavor can quite readily mushroom into an
incredibly expensive and foreboding proposition few can easily afford in modern
times. Where such finances source and their long term obligations, all represent key
questions demanding unambiguous answers in any event. In all likelihood, those
efforts will necessitate outside funding commonly referred to as student financial aid.
And while employers occasionally shoulder the cost of higher educationto their staff,
how does one accrue comparable benefits requiring a credential they so desperately
need to become hired in the first place? With the treachery of a modern day Riddle

substantial portions remain underwritten from individual states or the federal

Julianna Alternate Ending
Julianna, a happy and energetic four year old girl went to play at her beautiful
garden one sunny day. Julianna loved to run through the colorful flowers and
chase butterflies. But that morning, there was something very different in the
garden! As Julianna ran, hopped and skipped across the flower beds, she saw
something huge and purple at the very back of the garden. What is that! she
exclaimed with surprise. She stopped running and tip toed to the huge purple blub.
It was as big as a whale. No, wait, it was a whale! Julianna s eyes got round like a

suddenly, she heard her mom call out her name. Oh no, Julianna whimpered. Mom

for a place to hide Hugo. Spotting the huge bed sheets drying in the sun, she pulled

The fluttering wings made Hugo sneeze loudly. What was that? Mom wondered as
the huge gust of wind blew her hair and dress back. Uh, I think a storm is coming,
we should go inside. Julianna said, twisting her fingers. Mom looked at the sky with

Analysis Of My Dream
Dream
In my dream, I saw my stepmom talking to a group of men. This group of men
looked like they were part of a bike gang, and they all had either a knife or a gun on
them. The group of men had scary tattoos all over them, leather vests, and distressed
jeans on with boots. The men took off and were headed to an apartment complex in
search of someone. They didn t knock on any doors or try to break into a specific
apartment; they were just walking around looking for someone outside the apartment
buildings. When they found who they were looking for, they started running and
shooting towards that person. It was my father.

I then asked her to describe their tattoos, but again I got no answer. At that point, I
knew that the only two characters that I had to focus on were on her dad and her
stepmother. When I ask the dreamer to tell me about her stepmom, she replied by
saying that she was an awful person and that they never got along. She also added
that when she was living with her, she felt like her stepmom did not love her and
that from the very beginning she was trying to separate her from her dad. Then,
when I ask her to tell me about her dad, she went on to tell me that her dad and her,
have always had a close bond, and that she feels until this day that she has to
protect her dad from her stepmom, as she has done some pretty bad stuff to her
dad during and after their marriage. I then ask the dreamer to explain what her
stepmom has done to her dad in the past and now that they are divorce? She
discloses that when her dad was marry, her stepmom was not a very responsible
caregiver because she used to leaved her dad to take care of all the children and all of
the responsibilities of the house, and when her stepmom returned home there always
seem to be a lot of conflicts between her and her dad as he was starting to suspect
that she was probably cheating on him, but he was never sure if that was true or not.

The Similarities And Differences Of The Catholic And...
The Emmaus school has four different Churches working together to create an
ecumenical school. They live as one in harmony, and they are promoting unity among
the Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican and Uniting Churches. The Catholic, Lutheran and
Anglican Churches have a long history with each other, and it is only recently that
they have begun to work side by side. They have many differences and similarities in
beliefs, their sacraments, worship, their social teachings and justice. Although they
have many distinct ways of doing things, they have managed to work together
harmoniously.
The Catholic Church in Australia believes, they must become Christlike, to live by
the example of the Saints and Holy Spirit, (Catholic Enquiry Centre, Australia,
2018). This differs from the Lutheran Church as they believe that there is nothing
they can do to gain eternal life, but they must try all the same. (Lutheran Church of
Australia, 2017). Although they accept there is nothing that they can do to earn
God s favour they live by the idea of love one another above all else. This teaching
fits the scripture 1 Corinthians 13:1 13. The Anglican Church believes in the
resurrection of Christ, and the Christian story has no real beginning. They also
have faith that if they are baptised, they will be saved and gain Gods favour, this
belief is supported by the scripture Mark 16:16. The scripture Galatians 5:13 26

Parole Is Not A Sentence
Parole is the conditional early release of a prisoner back into the community under
the supervision of correctional authorities until the end of the full term of their
sentence. When a sentence is handed down to an offender, they are given a non
parole period which they must serve first before being eligible to be released or
apply to be released on parole. Parole is not a reduced sentence, it is a part of the
sentence where the offender can be conditionally released back into the community
under supervision (Evans, 2013). This essay will look at both the advantages and
disadvantages of offenders serving the remainder of their sentences while integrating
back into the community under supervision, and finally discuss the use of parole in
Australia and whether this approach to corrections is under or over utilised.
There are two types of parole; court ordered parole and board ordered parole. Court
ordered parole is applicable if the offender is sentenced to a period of imprisonment
of three years or less; at the time of sentencing the court will set a date when the
offender can be released on parole. Board ordered parole is applicable if the court
sets a date for the offender to be eligible to apply for parole; it is then up to the
parole board to make the decision whether the offender will be released on parole
(Queensland Government, 2012). Parole boards will consider each offender and case
individually, and assess factors such as the nature of the offence for which
The Pros And Cons Of H1 Bulb
Introduction
Few things are more important in a vehicle than a good set of headlights. Choosing
inferior bulbs for the sake of saving a couple of dollars is a mistake you will quickly
come to regret. If your car is designed for H1 bulbs, you should fit it with the best H1
bulbs you can find.
What Is A H1 Bulb?
The H1 headlight bulb can trace it s roots back to Europe, where it was first
introduced in 1962. The first halogen lamp designed for use in cars and other
automotive vehicles, the original H1 bulb proved to be a controversial invention. So
controversial, in fact, that it was banned in the United States of America and would
not be permitted for use in the country until 1997. Nowadays, H1 bulbs are not only

This means that if you are replacing your headlights, you must purchase a total of
four bulbs, a high and low model for either side. Headlight bulbs only equipped to
release one beam are called single filament bulbs .
Twin filament bulbs are designed to emit both low and high beams from a single
source, so if your car requires twin filament bulbs, you ll only have to spend money
on one bulb for each side. While this may seem more economical, the general
consensus is that twin filament bulbs are nowhere near as powerful as their single
filament counterparts. Single filament bulbs are far more common than twin filament
models, with the latter being very rarely seen outside of H4 bulbs.
H1 bulbs, if you haven t guessed it already, are single filament bulbs. That might
come as a bit of a disappointment if you were hoping to keep costs to a minimum
when replacing your headlights, but it can actually work out more economical in the
long run. Because single filament bulbs offer a brighter and further reaching light,
the risk of an accident is significantly lower than if you were lighting your way using
twin filament bulbs. This means the chances of you having to repair certain parts of
your car are significantly

No Treatment Or Vaccine For The Zika Virus
Currently there is no treatment or vaccine for the Zika virus but there are antibiotics
available to treat a range of bacterial infections. (WHO, 2016) The only way to
prevent the dangerous complications is to avoid contracting the virus. The main
prevention is to avoid mosquito bites since it is mosquitoborne, especially for
travelers. Some prevention methods include staying inside, wearing long sleeves and
using insecticide. Many countries in Latin America and the Caribbean where Zika
has been locally transmitted have restrictive abortion policies, and contraceptives in
these areas are often hard to obtain. (WHO, 2016) So the only way to prevent the

Adventure tourism:
Hall and Weiler defined adventure tourism as:
A broad spectrum of outdoor touristic activities, often commercialized and involving
an interaction with the natural environment away from the participant s home range
and containing elements of risk; in which the outcome is influenced by the
participant, setting, and management of the touristic experience (1992:143).
The above citation briefly describes the experience of adventure traveler. Adventure
tourism is interaction to the new environment and cultural setting which creates a
unique experience for the travelers. Mountain expeditions have become one of the
main parts of adventure tourism. Mountains in particular attract many backpackers
and adventure seeker tourists. The factors that have facilitated the emergence of
adventure tourism which has made impact on mountaineering are a deferring of
control to experts, a proliferation of promotional media including brochures, and the
application of technology in adventurous settings making the urban location and
extraordinary experience of adventure holiday (Beedie Hudson, 2003).
Adventure tourism is growing rapidly in developing countries. The increase in the

Alzheimer s or just expressed symptoms of an undiscovered neuropathology. Many

Analysis Of Richard Rodriguez s A Stranger And Strange...
Comparative Analysis
Over the past month, we have been studying the concept of reading and writing in
different communities. To assess this, we have read two different texts. Richard
Rodriguez s the achievement of desire , from his autobiography Hunger of Memory ;
and Lucille McCarthy s A Stranger in Strange Lands: A College Student Writing
across the Curriculum from Research in the Teaching of English . Both answer key
questions regarding what it takes to become a great reader and writer, however,
from the reading that I have done, each one only answers one part of the question.
Rodriguez s main focus is in the aspect of reading, whereas McCarthy mainly
focuses on the writing portion. Both do a decent job of analyzing and putting forth
a view of how they believe a person can best perform in these environments. This
then allows us to use their concepts and create our own version, based on their
points of view. But why should we care? Most people at this level of academia will
have developed a system of writing that works for them, and will have a difficult
time breaking from it if they re process doesn t meet the criteria that Rodriguez, and
McCarthy put forth. The reason it s so important is because of implications these
ideas have. Both authors put forth concepts that are indirectly related to one another
and that are highly beneficial to all who will apply them. They will force you to
conform to new environments in order to succeed, this in turn will make you more

Unromancing The Dream Analysis

Reading 7: Unromancing the Dream Summary
The reading begins with two researchers Aserinsky and Dement, researching into why
humans need sleep. Then, it begins to talk about another two researchers, Allan
Hobson and Robert McCarley. They both came up with a new theory about dreaming,
which was in essence, was that dreams are nothing more than your attempt to
interpret random electrical impulses produced automatically in your brain during
REM sleep. (Hock 2013). Basically what they were saying is that while we sleep, a
part of our brain produces electrical charges in the brain stem. While we sleep most
other parts of the brain are inactive, but the brain stem isn t. Hobson and
Symbolism In The Century Quilt By Marilyn Nelson Waniek
Throughout American history, quilting has been a major part of African American
culture. Starting at the time of slavery to relay information about safe routes in the
Underground Railroad, this tradition has continued and has begun to take on many
different levels of significance to this community. Used as a tool to escape racial
persecution throughout history physically and mentally, quilting has acted as an
art that transcends racial barriers and to bring the races together in a positive way.
In The Century Quilt , poet Marilyn Nelson Waniek develops complex meanings of
the quilt using the literary devices of color symbolism, time shifts, and a warm
atmosphere to effectively demonstrate the theme of love in families transcending
the idea of race. Color drives a significant amount of the meaning in this poem, as
the idea is used in describing the characters and objects throughout the poem and in
creating the atmosphere of the work. This was especially prevalent in the
description of the quilt in lines 15 through 17 as having Van Dyke brown squares ,
white squares , and one square the yellow brown of Mama s cheeks . By having
these different skin tones present, Waniek is representing the races represented in her
family, which includes African American and European roots. Including the
sweetgum lead in each of the squares, this further emphasizes that while the speaker
s great great great grandfather was white, the speaker s father is black, and she
herself is

Division or Analysis: Memento
The film Memento, directed by Christopher Nolan, is an American neo noir,
mystery psychological thriller film that was released in cinemas in the year 2000.
The movie was inspired and based off one of Nolan s younger brother s short story;
Memento Mori. Despite not widely known, the movie is critically acclaimed for
what it was able to accomplish. The movie did not do well in theaters nor were its
box office statistics notable, however the movie is well received by critics and
cinema centric websites. Memento is astounding and astounding film because of its
innovative use of narration and creative mystery that requires multiple viewings. ...

The film has one overall branching storyline but is told through two different time
lines. The film begins at the end of the story and is told backwards, colored, in
fifteen minute intervals. Each scene going backwards is told in these specific
intervals to juxtapose Leonard s condition, where the overall storyline is confusing
and doesn t make a lot of sense, similar to how Leonard feels constantly. And his
general length of memory is also about fifteen minute parallel to the lengths of
scenes in the movie. While most of the plot is told backwards and new information
is revealed in these intervals, the story s reverse order sequence is broken off and
alternated by no color, black and white scenes. These scenes are shown interchanged
with the main backwards plot and alternate every scene. The colorless parts are
depicted in standard chronological order to give the story better overall rhythm. As
the main story is nonlinear, the plot starts to become more and more difficult to
understand, so the director uses related black and white scenes that connect with the
colored story line. This structure is used to keep the flow consistent. In written
material sentences are usually structured so that old previously established
information is shown at the beginning of the sentence and new, untold information is
organized toward the end. Without these black and white interludes, the story would

The Destruction Of The Temple Essay
Before the destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70, Jewish practices had their own
meaning. In The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia it states,
Israel s chosenness consists of this special designation and the task that accompanies
it. God promises the land of Canaan to Israel as their homeland, the place in which
the Temple will be built and sacrificial worship of God carried out. The holy days
were the Sabbath, Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkoth; and circumcision, dietary laws,
and laws pertaining to dress, agriculture, and social justice characterized the structure
of the biblical religion. (Judaism)
As you can see from this explanation, the Temple within the Promise Land and Torah
are the centrality of this faith. Rabbi Dalia Marx (Ph.D.) wrote, In the past, only those
who made pilgrimage and entered its gates experienced the Temple, making the
Temple only seem as important to those that made that trip to the Temple, before its
destruction (Marx). The authors Daniel R. Schwartz and Zeev Weiss bring up another
topic all together concerning Jewish change before the Temple destruction. They state
that, Diaspora Jews developed various strategies to deal with the inaccessibility of the
Jerusalem Temple...They created alternatives to Temple worship...At least for
Diaspora Jews...the destruction of the Second Temple would not have made a major
difference with regard to their religious practice and Jewish identity (Weiss and
Schwartz).
Another object to discuss that was apparent
Segregation In African Americans Essay
Walls,Borders and Boundaries Assessment Despite its controversy in society, many
individuals still smoke marijuana recreationally. In November of 2016, eight states
of the U.S. legalized use of marijuana for both medical and recreational use. Black
rap music often has references to marijuana either directly or by using slang, and
these references have increased over the years. This has created an association
between the African American community and cannabis usage. Specifically, society
primarily focuses on drug crimes committed by black individuals solely because of
this false connotation. We conducted a survey centered around marijuana usage and
black rap music, with no emphasis on having participants of different races. While

Segregation was a practice commonly used to separate the two races, white and
black, in a variety of social settings. Segregation was a form of racial stereotyping
that affected the lives of many innocent people of color because of the false mindset
that a certain race is better than all the other. These stereotypes resulted in the deaths
of thousands by the hands of the KKK and lynching, and a biased judicial system. In
the same vein, marijuana stereotyping has limited the lives of many African
Americans through bias in the education system, work force, and justice system to
name a few. By tearing down the wall of false stereotypes about African Americans,
the vast cultural implication would abolish incorrect preconceived notions in modern
society, therefore expanding the prospects of minorities and elevating social
standards to provide equality for all. The decrease in assumptions and the constant
search for truth impacts not only minority races, but can expand to other
demographics such as the poor, rich, or mentally insane, and even regions such as the
deep south or west coast inhabitants in the United States alone. By erasing the walls
and stereotypes between different social groups, ethically America would become a
more inclusive, less assuming, and overall a better
Essay on Cloudstreet Oriel and Dolly similar
Text response homework:
Dolly and Oriel have more in common than they realise.
Tim Winton s novel Cloudstreet presents two seemingly dissimilar families that are
forced to live together in the same house. This piece of fiction contrasts many
characters with diverse morals and behaviours, in particular the two mothers of the
families, Dolly Pickles and Oriel Lamb. Beneath the surface, these women have more
in common than they realise, especially when it concerns gaining power, suffering
trauma, their partners, experiencing loss and their home.
The characters Dolly and Oriel both display the need for power in their separate lives.

my mother. The way both of these women have been shaped by the trauma they each
underwent influences how they perceive people.
Each of these characters struggle with the personalities and habits of their
partners. Oriel s husband, Lester, has an inability to strive for anything, he
procrastinates and would not do anything if it was not for Oriel, she loved Lester,
but a lot of loving him was making up for him, compensating. He was never quite
up to anything. Oriel grapples with Lester s personality because he is so unalike
her. Dolly shares the predicament of not harmonising with her husband, Sam.
Dolly sees Sam as weak because of his lost hand and addiction to gambling, they
also have different views about their children, don t you touch her, Dolly. Don t you
put a finger on her, or or what, you weak mongrel? Dolly refers to Sam as a weak
mongrel, which is indication of the indifference she
Dna Damage, Repair, And Dna Methylation Essay
Introduction:
Modification of damaged DNA seems to be an understudied subject, there is much to
understand on the restoration of DNA damage, repair and DNA methylation.
Genomic DNA can be modified by methylation but much of it is affected on a gene
when silenced. When epigenetic modification has been implicated with cancer and
aging it causes DNA methylation to also have an impact on the double strand of
DNA analysis. Modification as such provoke deteriorating changes like aging found
in multicellular organisms and DNA damage may magnify biochemical pathways
that regulate a cells growth or control DNA replication with DNA repair. In the
article DNA Damage, Homology Directed Repair, and DNA Methylation written by
Concetta Cuozzo, Antonio Porcellini, Tiziana Angrisano, et al. they hypothesize how
DNA damage and gene silencing may induce a DNA double strand break within a
genome as well as when DNA methylation is induced by homologous recombination
that it may somewhat mark its reparation through a DNA segment and protect its
cells against any unregulated gene expression that may be followed by DNA damage.
The experiments used to demonstration how gene conversion can modify methylation
pattern of repaired DNA and when that occurs methylation is able to silence the
recombined gene. When exploring the molecular mechanisms that link DNA damage
and the silencing gene then there is an induced double strand break that can be found
at a specific location or DNA sequence in where the

This means that the price of inventories purchased by the Retail Group is
increasing. A further examination revealed that the Selling, General and
Administration expenses (SG A) of the Retail Group are nearly two and half times
higher than that of the Manufacturing Group. Because Harrington Collection thinks
that sales people are the most important factor in the consumer decision making
process, they spend significant resources training their personnel and offering
them attractive commissions. Their expenses are understandable, and didn t
change for the fiscal year of 2007. What did change were the Manufacturing Group
s expenses. The Manufacturing Group s SG A increased 4.63% in 2007, meaning
that the cost of maintaining the current manufacturing set up is increasing.
Overall, the profit before tax of the Manufacturing Group decreased 13.24%, and
the Retail Group decreased 10.77%, for a total decrease of 11.28%. In simple
terms, expenses have increased, profits have decreased, and Harrington Collection
hasn t performed very well over the last several years. Recommendations Interest in
active wear is growing and does not appear to be waning anytime soon. Active wear
is both stylish and comfortable, which are two of the qualities of Vigor s clothing
line. Harrington Collection could seize this opportunity and jump into the active
wear market and launch a new line of active wear under the Vigor label. In order to
do this successfully,
Analysis Of Archie Andrews By John L. Goldwater, Louis...
Archie Andrews. One of the characters where some 35 years old know him and
even some 13 year olds know it? How is this possible? Well back in the day the day,
there used to be something called Archie comics. It was founded in 1939, and many
people around America were fans of it because it featured all types of genres,
including but not limited to humor, romance, crime, and adventures. The founder of
this innovative comic was John L. Goldwater, Louis Silberkleit, and Maurice Coyne.
Now getting back to this generation s Archie Andrews, which is from the new series

tall, muscular teenage boy with pale skin red hair, and his love for music for
music and football only increases. He is generally calm, but he does get annoyed
when he is trying to do the right thing and someone stops him. He must be 15 or 16
years old because he is studying as a high school sophomore. I feel that he is sort
of expendable because every other character from Riverdale has their own
consistent storyline. He doesn t know about Polly. He doesn t know about his dad
and Veronica s parents. He only heard the gunshot. He is actually involved with
Ms. Grundy with her music, his dad, Betty, Veronica, and sometimes Jughead.
They just need to give him more to do. I guess they thought the Grundy storyline
was crazy enough to tide him over for some time. But there are no lasting effects of
the relationship with him. This character is often a time shown to be extremely
passionate towards music. He has stayed shut of what he heard a gunshot on the

He got rejected due to the lack of written music, so he stayed up all night writing his
song, though sloppy and rushed. Instead of practicing for his football game which
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Track Gauge
In attempt to stimulate economic development and de congest roadways between
two major cities in South Africa, the decision has been made to build a railway as
alternative transport. An important decision needs to then be made concerning the
type of track gauge for the new railway line. A comparison, by a review of pros and
cons, is made between the 1076mm Cape gauge and the 1435mm Standard gaugein
order to recommend the more economically viable track gauge for the transport
infrastructure.
The Cape gauge was initially a better option as the narrow gauge reduced costs when
building through and around South Africa s mountainous terrain. These narrow
networks are lighter and have smaller radius curves, this makes them useful in the
mining, construction, tunnelling and quarrying industries where temporary railway
is needed.
Moving rolling stock is difficult with Cape gauges so there must always be enough
rolling stock to keep up with demand during peak periods, however, this is
unprofitable during periods of low demand.
The Standard gauge is used widely in the United States, Canada, Europe, China and
many other countries which allows for a wider variety of suppliers. Fewer countries

Cost per kilometre for the Cape gauge lies at R1.6 million while the Standard
gauge cost is higher per kilometre at R1.8 million. The track costs are balanced out
due to the ease with which the rolling stock for a Standard gauge can be accessed
as there are existing designs that have been tried and tested that are available, this
saves vast quantities of money and time. If a Cape gauge were to be used the
designs would have to be tested, prototyped and optimised before they are

How To Write A Narrative Essay About American Culture
Languages of Another Assimilating into this melting pot that we call America
may be a walk in the park to some but to others, there is a high barrier that blocks
the doorway like a security guard to the trendiest club in Los Angeles. As easy as it
may be for some to come up to the front of the line and walk right through the red
rope, there are others who are not as lucky. Most people much like you and I, have to
wait in a long line and pay their way through. Whether a native on this land or an
immigrant from another country, languageis a very powerful tool required in order for
one to be successful here in America. There is a high price of hard work and
determination that can pay the cost of making this success a reality. I was born
and raised as a Filipino American in a household full of Filipinos who mainly
spoke the Kapangpangan language. My parents were both born in the Philippines
and when they were in their 30 s, came to start a new life in Oakland, California.
They worked double jobs with long hours, so my sister and I were raised by our
grandparents who also mainly spoke Kapangpangan. Although we were always
spoken to in this language, my sister and I never caught on to speaking the language
fluently. The background of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In reality, full assimilation is not necessarily needed to succeed here in America, but
instead, having a diverse background and knowledge of another language actually has
more benefits than not. There are many more opportunities available for people who
are multilingual because of the melting pot that America is. The most beneficial thing
that can come out of learning a new language whether it be English, Spanish,
Chinese or Kapangpangan, is being able to use that language as a platform to reach
out to a greater number of people near and
The history of Rooster Teeth Production, LLC.
Part One: Background and History Rooster Teeth Productions, LLC. is a
production company based in Austin, Texas. It was officially established April 1st,
2003; although, the company made video production content, such as parodies and
short movies, before then. The history of Rooster Teeth starts at the University of
Texas in the mid 1990s. Three friends, Michael Burnie Burns, Matt Hullum, and
Joel Heyman were friends who attended the university in Austin. They were not the
best students, and they were worried the high paying technology jobs, that were
growing increasingly popular at the time, were out of their reach. So, as an attempt
to get themselves noticed in the industry, they decided to make a short film
together. The film was called The Schedule; Burns and Hullum directed it while
Heyman played the lead role. The three of them brought their film to several
festivals, and they received some minor recognition. In fact, it prompted Heyman to
move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting, and Hullum decided to follow his
heart (i.e. Joel) (roosterteeth.com) and decided to move there as well to work in
visual effects. Burns stayed in Austin, where he started working at a tech support
center, and where he eventually became Director of Operations. At this point in time,
three key players who would eventually form Rooster Teeth were separated from
each other, and they could have feasibly spent the rest of their lives this way.
However, one more important

  • 2. Diction In Blackberry-Picking By Seamus Heaney In Seamus Heaney s poem, Blackberry Picking , the author utilizes diction, alliteration, and rhyme in order to express his discontent in how greedy people can become when they desire something. Heaney wishes to present this idea to his reader through very aggressive diction. The poet juxtaposed the summer s blood (7) in his poem with the juice, or blood of blackberries, admiring the fruitfor its addicting taste which reawakens his temptation every summer. Had Heaney chosen weaker diction in this metaphor, the individual reading this poem would not feel such powerful emotions towards Heaney s message about nature s fragility when injured by human greed. Also, Heaney associates blood with the juice of the berries since humans need blood to live, but there are times when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When hiking out to gather them, Heaney describes how the briars scratched (10) their wet boots. In this line, the reader s mind is brought to a wooded area that seems friendly and hospitable except for the clawing briars and bleaching water. It is unmistakable how tiring the work can be, but the poet never mentions his exhaustion. While it takes a great deal of effort to pick berries, they still seem to be fragile to the point that they are annually torn down by the claws of greed. Also, the poet explains how their hands were peppered/ with thorn pricks (15 16), as the repeated p sound places a dimension of anger and pent up rage to the poem s tone. The reader up to be pained by the ruined berries, turned into a fleeting memory from their former grace as they become largely forgotten and wasted if they are not eaten immediately. Similarly, the poet points out that unsuppressed desire can lead to this type of selfishness, and can prove to be dangerous if permitted for a long

The writers of the Constitution were worried about Tyranny, since The Articles of Confederation had numerous weaknesses. It gave too much power to the King and the King had the absolute power, tyranny: a form of government in which the ruler is an absolute dictator. The meeting that the writers of the Constitutions, delegates, were called the Constitutional Convention. • 5. Application Of Delay Tolerant Network Essay Abstract A class of wireless network is represented by Delay Tolerant Networks (DTNs) that experience regular and long lasting partitions due to light distribution of nodes in the network topology. In DTN, store carry forward mechanism is used for packets routing. In this paper, for performance evaluation three popular routing protocols are used namely; Epidemic, Direct Delivery and First contact. The performance of these routing protocols generates a new subarea movement model based on the splitting of network simulation area. Keywords: Delay Tolerant Network (DTN), The ONE (Opportunistic Network) simulator, Movement Models, Routing protocols, TTL (time to live). 1. Introduction Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) represents a class of wireless networks that has no connected path between a source and the destination. The network is partitioned into several sub networks in DTN. DTNs represent a class of wireless systems with no infrastructure and support the functionality of networks experiencing recurrent and long lasting partitions. Delay tolerant networking [1] has received major attention in recent years. Since in DTN, the destination path is not connected, so the main purpose here is to find the intermediate nodes for routing the packets [2, 3]. When two nodes come in contact with each other, they may exchange the packets and such an occasion is known as encounter. In DTN, store carry forward model is used for packet delivery. According to this model, each node along the

  • 7. Fair And Balance Argument Analysis The facts to this are that FOX news channel is notorious for being a conservative news channel. They report one sided toward conservative views and arguing against the liberal side on a regular basis. The slogan fair and balanced is not a good representation of words, which simply describe what the news channel gives their viewers. It would make much more sense for the station to take Haddock s advice and change the slogan to something like perspective that better describes the station. FOX news is not giving fair and balanced information to their viewers but rather they are showing them the perspective of the conservative side. The slogan fair and balanced also is not supporting the individual values of the viewers, but rather they reporters are talking about and arguing for what they value. In order for the station to truly be fair and balanced they need to argue for and against topics on both the liberal and the conservative side. FOX is not giving people a chance to hear the good and the bad about both sides, but rather they are hearing the good of the conservative side, and the bad of the liberal. As media practitioners, it is their job to make sure that the viewers have the freedom to form an opinion free of bias. Since FOX news tends to go one way more than the other, it makes much more sense to use perspective . By doing this they are showing the viewers that this is just one perspective of the
  • 8. India s A Growing Economic System For this research report, I want to further the understanding of the Indian attitude, external opportunities and threats of entrepreneurship, and how the International world and India is progressing with entrepreneurs. I have an interest in being in working internationally, after gaining more experience in the corporate/sales area of a company, which is one of the reasons I chose to explore this topic on an international level. This paper will cover some basics of entrepreneurship in India. In India they have a growing economic system. Global Edge states that in 2011, India s estimated GDP was $1.843 trillion with 7.8% growth (Global Edge). Although India has some of the biggest billionaires living there, more than 30% 50% of the people in India live below the poverty line on about 50 cents a day. It is a high poverty rate, the highest among all the BRIC countries. In India this problem is growing and becoming more unbalanced. This is an issue because of the caste system in India. This castes system makes it extremely difficult for one to change social classes. Women also have a problem when trying to break into the workplace, because it is something that is seen as taboo. I recall in a TED TALK that was shown in a class of mine, it showed how women and lower class citizens of India were learning about IT and how they were being taught simple key logging types of work in hopes of the availability of the jobs will help balance the distribution of income through the lower classes. The key sectors of the company in India are listed as agriculture (17.4%), industry (25.8%), and services (56.9%). Many belonging to the lower class in India are farmers and they spend quite some time selling their produce which proves to be a difficult tasks since many rural areas do not have the means to provide efficient transportation (i.e. underdeveloped roads). Because of this, many of their produce go bad/expire before they make it to the market. The main agricultural products that are produced in India are rice, wheat, oilseed, cotton, jute, tea, sugarcane, lentils, onions, potatoes; dairy products,

He left a legacy on this earth that will forever be remembered. Dr. Seuss s books have a story line that related to the problems in the world that were taking place. For example, The Lorax was all about the environmental issues that were present at that time. Geisel s books helped kids to learn about these issues, but his books were written in a kid friendly way. By the early 21st century, Seuss s books have sold over 600 million copies worldwide (Encyclopedia Britannica). In his lifetime, Geisel wrote about 44 children s books, created many cartoons, and even wrote scripts for films and movies (Seuss In Springfield). In 2004, Seuss was even on a postage stamp in remembrance of all of his great work (Poetry Foundation). When Geisel died, he had some unpublished books that his widowed wife published for him. One of these books was, What Pet Should I Get (Encyclopedia Britannica). This goes to show just how much Theodor Seuss Geisel has left behind on this earth and how big of an impact he had on us

Come out of charity, Come dance with me in Ireland. William Butler Yeats My first encounter with Ireland and its culture was rather trivial. I saw some Irish dancing and was fascinated by its rigor, energy, and emotional charge. I am not a dancer myself but Irish dances that I saw on TV made me want to get on my feet and start tap dancing. Original , fresh and beautiful are the words which come to my mind when I read a poem by W.B. Yeats, watch an Irish dance, see a colorful St Patrick s procession or listen to Irish traditional music. Despite its international popularity Irish culture on the whole retains its uniqueness and authentic spirit. That is why people around the world still see Ireland as a spiritual reservoir and turn to Irish culture when they need to feed their souls. In the era of globalization when boundaries between countries and nations are becoming more and more blurred, it is really important to preserve and promote your own culture. The Irish are very good at it. They have managed to make their culture a visiting card. Although some people say that Irish culture is losing its authenticity and is becoming commercialized, I don t see it that way. By weaving traditional elements into popular culture the Irish make more people familiar with their country. For instance, some popular songs by U2 contain traditional Irish melodies. Songs like In the Name of the Father , Tomorrow , or The Ballad of Ronnie Drew are really Irish despite their rock and pop style. The
  • 11. The Group Islamic State Of Iraq And Levant The group Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) is a jihadist group predominantly active in the Middle Eastern countries of Iraq and Syria. In addition, the (ISIL) group is also attempting to gain authority over other countries in the neighboring region of Turkey, Jordan, Israel, and Iran. The Islamic State of Iraq and Levant s expansion is fueled by political aspirations legitimized through fundamentalist Sunni views of religion. They claim that they are a religious movement that will establish once and for all, a universalist Islamic identity under the supreme leader, Al Baghdadi who has self proclaimed the title of Caliph, the rightful political and religious ruler of the universal Ummah. These actions have unleashed a wave of new violence against minority, ethnic, and religious groups as well as the beheading of several Western journalists and citizens. Their methods of coercion and violence are aimed at the fragmented political and religious groups trying to make sense of a regional sectarian conflict that has claimed millions of lives and displaced millions more into refugee sanctuaries. Furthermore, their movement is a response to Western political ideologies that have imposed political, social, and cultural norms that are inconsistent with Islamic religious views. First, through the Colonialist experience, and later through post colonial, Cold War, post Cold War and post 9/11 events. In my opinion, the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant is trying to accomplish
  • 12. Billy Budd Analysis Billy Budd is the story of the sailor Billy Budd and his time on the H.M.S Bellipotent during the last decade of the 18th century, after being impressed from the previous ship he was on The Rights of Man . He was seen as a handsome sailor , and was loved by his old crew. He was also innocent to a fault. This man could not see the bador suspicious in someone at all. In the context of this novel, he was the purest good in this ship, which could also be seen as a microcosm of the world as it was. Billy as a whole is seen mainly as a man without fault. He could do no wrong in his world, because he is the personification of all that is good. This makes his one flaw, that being his stutter, the perfect aspect of his being to show us of the dangers of innocence. The fact that he cannot bring words out to defend himself against the malice tossed at him because his very being will not allow him to even comprehend that there are people in the world with such ill intent. Ill intent does not exist to him, and it ultimately proved to be his undoing. As if almost a flip of a coin, Claggart can be seen as the complete opposite than that of Billy. An ugly man, in both the figurative and literal sense, Claggart s innate malice is without cause or limit. While Billy lacks the awareness of the differences of human actions and the intentions behind them, Claggart knows these differences all too well. He has a great understanding of deception and ambiguity that he uses to hide his real

The Lightning Thief has several different themes such as discovering identity, family, and versions of reality. There are plenty of more themes in the book, but those are the most important ones. The first theme in The Lightning Thief is discovering identity. The main character, Percy, is left with barely any knowledge of his father, and is sent from one boarding school to another. He is stuck believing that he is unwanted, and that he is stupid because of his dyslexia. On a field trip, Percy discovers that his math teacher isn t what she seems and is actually out to kill him, and his Greek professor isn t at all a human. Although Percy doesn t have a lot of real family, he meets a lot of friends who become like family to him. • 14. Nat Turner s Role In The Abolishment Of Slavery Some people think his actions are crazy. Other suggest that his actions were rational and justified. Whether or not you believe either of these, it is certain that Nat Turner was a revolutionary figure. Nat Turner played a key role in the abolishment of slavery. He organized the most notable slave uprising in modern history. Under his leadership, rebellious slaves killed over 50 white people in August 1831. Although violence should not be condoned, the brutality of the massacre opened the eyes of Virginians and citizens across America. The rebellion began to make people see the extent slaves would go to in order to be freed from their confined lives. Nat Turner s impact on human history was substantial. His initial goal of freeing his people of slavery was not accomplished initially. However, his expression of fearlessness and determination was a key point in the disintegration of slavery 34 years after his death. Ever since the attacks, Nat Turner and his life history have been well documented. There are so many people that have been affected by Nat Turner s life. People have been left with questions that cannot be answered about the rebellion. In order to look for answers to Turner s controversial actions, we look toward the authors, producers, and historians who have studied Nat Turner and his life. Immediately after his capture, Nat Turner delivered his confessions to Thomas R. Gray. Gray wrote down what Turner told him and published a pamphlet after Turner s death.

It is assumed that teachers are curious and eager to learn how to infuse advanced technology and also develop an understanding of instructing with available technological tools such as wirelesslaptop technology (Marino, Sameshima, Beecher, 2009). Therefore, based on the quantitative nature of the study, this investigation is better outfitted to present a wealthy account of the practice of teaching and learning with wireless laptops (Skevakis, 2010) within K 12 classrooms, as opposed to a qualitative or mixed method investigation of the phenomenon (Leedy Ormrod, 2010). Thus, this study does not suggest that teaching and learning should be limited exclusively to wireless computing. Significance of the Study The significance of this proposed study will add to the literature by illustrating a more inclusive picture of the universal practice of instructing and learning with wireless computing (GaDOE, 2008, Wellings Levine, 2009; Weston Bain, 2010). Although the XYZ school district is making considerable progress in incorporating technological resources in the classroom effectively, there is still more work to do on leveraging (GaDOE, 2008) technology potential. The XYZ district provides teachers with Internet access, online subscriptions and training on ways to develop digital content (Skevakis, 2010). However, teachers are not provided with adequate preparation, planning or assistance to align digital (Skevakis, 2010) resources to the curriculum. This study is unique because limited studies are available addressing teachers technology attitudes (Wayne, Yoon, Zhu, Cronen, Garet, 2008) and

Characteristics Of Bona Fide For The Audience Bona Fide for the Audience A step off the podium, an audience in applause, and the thoughts inside whispering, How did I do? when they should be urging, What did I give? The good news is that the audience can indeed become the focal point of any speech if the speaker tailors their message toward it. In this paper, I will analyze three situational characteristics and three demographics that contribute to the uniqueness of my audience, explain why these traits matter, and briefly examine the scope of their limitations in an attempt to understand the art of the invaluable audience centered speech(Holloway, An Exercise in Audience Analysis ). Nervousness is linear, at least for me it is. As the audience size increases, I find my nervousness does as well. People usually have an audience of one every day in their normal conversations, sometimes that might grow to an audience of two, three, or even four. As the audience size increases, it s only natural to realize that it s more challenging to please everyone. Sense of humor, attention span, interests, these are all variable and unique to each audience member. How then, can this divide be reconciled? The answer is simple and it s a technique that the education system has embedded in students minds. Find similarities. Find common ground. (Fraleigh and Tuman, 141). One way to ensure that the speakeris understandable and relatable to as many audience members as possible is to utilize a technique called teaching in the middle (Fraleigh and Tuman, 122). This method roughly calculates the median expertise in the audience and tailors the speech toward that level. The audience that I will speak to is large enough (approximately twenty five) to where I certainly need to factor in this approach. It makes common ground much more achievable, while also humbling the speaker, which makes for a friendlier relationship with the audience though they may be more obligatorily than enthusiastically present. In the classroom setting, let s face it, there are students who are watching the clock, patiently awaiting the end of class. Yet some teachers have the ability to capture a student s attention so well that the student might forget all about the time until the end of

When a sentence is handed down to an offender, they are given a non parole period which they must serve first before being eligible to be released or apply to be released on parole. Parole is not a reduced sentence, it is a part of the sentence where the offender can be conditionally released back into the community under supervision (Evans, 2013). This essay will look at both the advantages and disadvantages of offenders serving the remainder of their sentences while integrating back into the community under supervision, and finally discuss the use of parole in Australia and whether this approach to corrections is under or over utilised. There are two types of parole; court ordered parole and board ordered parole. Court ordered parole is applicable if the offender is sentenced to a period of imprisonment of three years or less; at the time of sentencing the court will set a date when the offender can be released on parole. Board ordered parole is applicable if the court sets a date for the offender to be eligible to apply for parole; it is then up to the parole board to make the decision whether the offender will be released on parole (Queensland Government, 2012). Parole boards will consider each offender and case individually, and assess factors such as the nature of the offence for which

Most people at this level of academia will have developed a system of writing that works for them, and will have a difficult time breaking from it if they re process doesn t meet the criteria that Rodriguez, and McCarthy put forth. The reason it s so important is because of implications these ideas have. Both authors put forth concepts that are indirectly related to one another and that are highly beneficial to all who will apply them. They will force you to conform to new environments in order to succeed, this in turn will make you more

They both came up with a new theory about dreaming, which was in essence, was that dreams are nothing more than your attempt to interpret random electrical impulses produced automatically in your brain during REM sleep. While we sleep most other parts of the brain are inactive, but the brain stem isn t. Hobson and
  • 43. Symbolism In The Century Quilt By Marilyn Nelson Waniek Throughout American history, quilting has been a major part of African American culture. Starting at the time of slavery to relay information about safe routes in the Underground Railroad, this tradition has continued and has begun to take on many different levels of significance to this community. Used as a tool to escape racial persecution throughout history physically and mentally, quilting has acted as an art that transcends racial barriers and to bring the races together in a positive way. In The Century Quilt , poet Marilyn Nelson Waniek develops complex meanings of the quilt using the literary devices of color symbolism, time shifts, and a warm atmosphere to effectively demonstrate the theme of love in families transcending the idea of race. Color drives a significant amount of the meaning in this poem, as the idea is used in describing the characters and objects throughout the poem and in creating the atmosphere of the work. This was especially prevalent in the description of the quilt in lines 15 through 17 as having Van Dyke brown squares , white squares , and one square the yellow brown of Mama s cheeks . By having these different skin tones present, Waniek is representing the races represented in her family, which includes African American and European roots. Including the sweetgum lead in each of the squares, this further emphasizes that while the speaker s great great great grandfather was white, the speaker s father is black, and she herself is

The film has one overall branching storyline but is told through two different time lines. The film begins at the end of the story and is told backwards, colored, in fifteen minute intervals. Each scene going backwards is told in these specific intervals to juxtapose Leonard s condition, where the overall storyline is confusing and doesn t make a lot of sense, similar to how Leonard feels constantly. And his general length of memory is also about fifteen minute parallel to the lengths of scenes in the movie. While most of the plot is told backwards and new information is revealed in these intervals, the story s reverse order sequence is broken off and alternated by no color, black and white scenes. These scenes are shown interchanged with the main backwards plot and alternate every scene. The colorless parts are depicted in standard chronological order to give the story better overall rhythm. As the main story is nonlinear, the plot starts to become more and more difficult to understand, so the director uses related black and white scenes that connect with the colored story line. This structure is used to keep the flow consistent. In written material sentences are usually structured so that old previously established information is shown at the beginning of the sentence and new, untold information is organized toward the end. Without these black and white interludes, the story would be constantly
  • 45. The Destruction Of The Temple Essay Before the destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70, Jewish practices had their own meaning. In The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia it states, Israel s chosenness consists of this special designation and the task that accompanies it. God promises the land of Canaan to Israel as their homeland, the place in which the Temple will be built and sacrificial worship of God carried out. The holy days were the Sabbath, Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkoth; and circumcision, dietary laws, and laws pertaining to dress, agriculture, and social justice characterized the structure of the biblical religion. (Judaism) As you can see from this explanation, the Temple within the Promise Land and Torah are the centrality of this faith. Rabbi Dalia Marx (Ph.D.) wrote, In the past, only those who made pilgrimage and entered its gates experienced the Temple, making the Temple only seem as important to those that made that trip to the Temple, before its destruction (Marx). The authors Daniel R. Schwartz and Zeev Weiss bring up another topic all together concerning Jewish change before the Temple destruction. They state that, Diaspora Jews developed various strategies to deal with the inaccessibility of the Jerusalem Temple...They created alternatives to Temple worship...At least for Diaspora Jews...the destruction of the Second Temple would not have made a major difference with regard to their religious practice and Jewish identity (Weiss and Schwartz). Another object to discuss that was apparent

Segregation was a practice commonly used to separate the two races, white and black, in a variety of social settings. Segregation was a form of racial stereotyping that affected the lives of many innocent people of color because of the false mindset that a certain race is better than all the other. These stereotypes resulted in the deaths of thousands by the hands of the KKK and lynching, and a biased judicial system. In the same vein, marijuana stereotyping has limited the lives of many African Americans through bias in the education system, work force, and justice system to name a few. By tearing down the wall of false stereotypes about African Americans, the vast cultural implication would abolish incorrect preconceived notions in modern society, therefore expanding the prospects of minorities and elevating social standards to provide equality for all. The decrease in assumptions and the constant search for truth impacts not only minority races, but can expand to other demographics such as the poor, rich, or mentally insane, and even regions such as the deep south or west coast inhabitants in the United States alone. By erasing the walls and stereotypes between different social groups, ethically America would become a more inclusive, less assuming, and overall a better

  • 48. Dna Damage, Repair, And Dna Methylation Essay Introduction: Modification of damaged DNA seems to be an understudied subject, there is much to understand on the restoration of DNA damage, repair and DNA methylation. Genomic DNA can be modified by methylation but much of it is affected on a gene when silenced. When epigenetic modification has been implicated with cancer and aging it causes DNA methylation to also have an impact on the double strand of DNA analysis. Modification as such provoke deteriorating changes like aging found in multicellular organisms and DNA damage may magnify biochemical pathways that regulate a cells growth or control DNA replication with DNA repair. In the article DNA Damage, Homology Directed Repair, and DNA Methylation written by Concetta Cuozzo, Antonio Porcellini, Tiziana Angrisano, et al. they hypothesize how DNA damage and gene silencing may induce a DNA double strand break within a genome as well as when DNA methylation is induced by homologous recombination that it may somewhat mark its reparation through a DNA segment and protect its cells against any unregulated gene expression that may be followed by DNA damage. The experiments used to demonstration how gene conversion can modify methylation pattern of repaired DNA and when that occurs methylation is able to silence the recombined gene. When exploring the molecular mechanisms that link DNA damage and the silencing gene then there is an induced double strand break that can be found at a specific location or DNA sequence in where the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Track Gauge In attempt to stimulate economic development and de congest roadways between two major cities in South Africa, the decision has been made to build a railway as alternative transport. An important decision needs to then be made concerning the type of track gauge for the new railway line. A comparison, by a review of pros and cons, is made between the 1076mm Cape gauge and the 1435mm Standard gaugein order to recommend the more economically viable track gauge for the transport infrastructure. The Cape gauge was initially a better option as the narrow gauge reduced costs when building through and around South Africa s mountainous terrain. These narrow networks are lighter and have smaller radius curves, this makes them useful in the mining, construction, tunnelling and quarrying industries where temporary railway is needed. Moving rolling stock is difficult with Cape gauges so there must always be enough rolling stock to keep up with demand during peak periods, however, this is unprofitable during periods of low demand. It was officially established April 1st, 2003; although, the company made video production content, such as parodies and short movies, before then. The history of Rooster Teeth starts at the University of Texas in the mid 1990s. Three friends, Michael Burnie Burns, Matt Hullum, and Joel Heyman were friends who attended the university in Austin. They were not the best students, and they were worried the high paying technology jobs, that were growing increasingly popular at the time, were out of their reach. So, as an attempt to get themselves noticed in the industry, they decided to make a short film together. The film was called The Schedule; Burns and Hullum directed it while Heyman played the lead role. The three of them brought their film to several festivals, and they received some minor recognition. In fact, it prompted Heyman to move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting, and Hullum decided to follow his heart (i.e. Joel) (roosterteeth.com) and decided to move there as well to work in visual effects. Burns stayed in Austin, where he started working at a tech support center, and where he eventually became Director of Operations.
