1. Essay On Proverbs
Writing an essay on the topic of proverbs may initially seem deceptively simple, as proverbs are
short, pithy sayings that encapsulate wisdom and cultural insights. However, delving deeper into
the task reveals the complexities involved. Proverbs are often deeply rooted in cultural contexts,
making it challenging to interpret them accurately without a thorough understanding of the
specific cultural nuances.
Additionally, the essay requires more than just a compilation of proverbs; it demands an
insightful analysis of their meanings and applications. One must explore the historical and
cultural origins of proverbs, considering how they reflect the values, beliefs, and social structures
of different societies. This necessitates extensive research to ensure a comprehensive and well-
informed discussion.
Furthermore, crafting a compelling essay on proverbs involves skillful incorporation of relevant
examples and anecdotes to illustrate the practicality and universality of these sayings. Striking
the right balance between theoretical analysis and real-world applications requires a keen
understanding of the diverse situations where proverbs find relevance.
The task is not merely about regurgitating information but requires a creative and critical
approach to weaving together a coherent narrative. Choosing the right proverbs and structuring
the essay effectively to convey a clear message is an art that demands thoughtful consideration.
In conclusion, writing an essay on proverbs is a multifaceted challenge that goes beyond the
superficial compilation of sayings. It demands cultural sensitivity, research prowess, analytical
skills, and the ability to present insights in a compelling manner. Success in this endeavor
requires a thorough understanding of the topic and a skillful integration of diverse elements to
create a coherent and engaging essay.

2. Essay about Henry VIII
Early years
Henry VIII was born on June 28, 1491 at Greenwich Palace. His Parents, Henry VII
and Elizabeth of York, were very loving and proud parents, even though they didn t
see much of their children. Henry was their second son. He was styled as the Duke
of York . He had his own servants, Court Jesters, and to top it off he had is own
whipping boy that would receive whippings whenever Henry did something bad.
Henry was said to be charming, handsome and full of life. He loved music, so much
that when he was only ten years old he could play many instruments including the
Fife, Harp, Viola, and drums. He was also very smart. He could speak French, Latin,
and a bit of Spanish. He loved Hunting. His favorite sports were hunting ,of ... Show

Henry was engaged to Catherine of Aragon, widow of his older brother Arthur at
age 12 when his brother died. Catherine was 5 years older than Henry was. They
were married when Henry s father, Henry VII, died and Henry VIII took the Throne
and Catherine became Queen.
At this time Henry wanted a son so badly, an heir to his throne. Catherine had many
children with with Henry. Only one survived and it unfortunately was not a boy. It
was a girl, Princess Mary. She somehow managed to survive the plagues and
sicknesses at that time. Although Henry wanted a son badly and did not get one he
still did not blame Catherine for not giving him any boys.
During the time he was with his 1st wife Catherine he was believed to have been
with 2 mistresses. He didn t know that Catherine knew he had them all along and
she kept silent about it. Then he met his second wife. Her name was Anne Boleyn.
She was the daughter of an English diplomat who lived in France and served Henry
VIII s sister Mary. After King Luis died Mary returned to England and became one
of Catherine s servants. With her, she was secretly betrothed to Henry Percy. Percy
was already promised to another woman and his parents would never except him
marrying her. Wolsey found out and told the King and Anne was banished from the
royal court. She held a grudge against Wolsey and never forgave him for it. She
returned in 1524 or 1525. In 1526 Henry began to pursue her. She refused

4. Soccer Is The Most Popular Sport
Soccer is the most popular sport played throughout the world, especially in Europe
and South America. However, here in America it is not that powerful yet. Will
America succeed in soccer? How? In my opinion, America will be one of the biggest
powers in soccer, with a good league MLS and with a good national team. My goal
in this paper is to give you reasons that the United Stateshave already had soccer in
their list of main sports in the country, maybe the fifth one, after baseball, football,
basketball, and hockey.
If we go to deeper in the meaning of soccer, what is the goal of the sport? Use your
feet to put the ball inside the net. Why does football mean soccer in all over the
world, but United States? If we look at other languages, in Spanish is fГєtbol, in
Dutch is voetbal, and in Portuguese is futebol. Why do we call football or anything
close to that in the whole world, but here football is the sport that we use the hands
for the most part? Those are good questions to think about. If we go to history,
people used to say that soccer and rugby were called football at first, but then they
have split up because some rules came up. Nevertheless, in my opinion, they should
have changed the American football name, but not soccer, because soccer is the sport
played with the foot, not American football.
America is a super power in football, basketball, and baseball. Those are classified as
American sports. However, soccer is the most played sport in the world. Any sport
5. Relapse And Control Behavior
Understanding relapse is important because the phenomenon suggested that even
when there is suppression on responding, operant behavior may be susceptible to
relapse as changing contexts (Bouton, Todd, Vurbic, Winterbauer, 2011).
Lapse and relapse effects evidence that extinguished responding returns if the context
is changed after extinction (Bouton, Winterbauer, Todd, 2012). Specifically,
following extinction in context B, the relation learned in context A (CS results in US
or response results in reinforcement) will not control behavior if in context B.

In ABC renewal, acquisition occurs in context A, extinction in context B, and then
testing context C. In addition, AAB should also be taken into consideration.
Taking together, the hypothesized process of ABA renewal can be due to excitatory
conditioning in context A or inhibitory conditioning in context B or both. Therefore,
in order to isolate these processes, Bouton, Todd, Vurbic and Winterauer (2011)
found other ways of changing the current context. Specifically, Bouton and
colleagues included between group comparison of ABA versed AAB renewal in the
first experiment. During baseline training, the lever press responses resulted in food
as reinforcement on a variable interval 30 seconds (VI 30s) schedule. The trainings
happened in the context A for both groups. However, extinction occurred in context A
for AAB group, whereas extinction occurred in context B for ABA group. Finally, the
two groups were put into test sessions in both context A and context B in a
counterbalanced order. The results of this experiment found both ABA and AAB
renewal after operant extinction. This revealed that renewal not only due to returning
to training context as AAB group did not go back to the original context but still got
the relapse effect. In addition, rats did not only learn the excitatory conditioning in
which case learning to respond to get reinforcement in context A. This was because
rats still responded even when
6. The Role Of Aphrodite In Greek Mythology
Goddess of love, sexuality, and fertility, Aphrodite is one of Greek mythology s
most widely known goddesses. She was a goddess of great power, strength, and
most of all, beauty. Aphrodite held great power over both mortals and immortals so
it comes as no surprise that she appears in many stories, myths, and poems. The
story of Aphrodite s birth as she emerges from the sea foam is told in 1.5 Hesiod s
Theogony. It is in this story that Aphrodite is introduced as a mysterious and
beautiful seductress. In 5.4 Aphrodite and Anchises: The Homeric Hymn to
Aphrodite, Zeuscasts a spell over Aphrodite making her fall in love with a mortal
man. Finally, in 5.8 Hymn to Venus From Lucretius De Rerum Natura, the poet
Sappho calls to Venus (the Roman equivalent of Aphrodite) to help her during a
terrible heartache.

The term bear arms, without further modifiers, did not gather a bigger meaning,
such as hunting or the mere carrying of arms in that time period. Individuals could
be safe under the Second Amendment if they were using guns or another type of
firearm as protection. For example, I have multiple firearms in my home and have
taken Hunter Safety, which is a class designed to teach youth under the age of 13
about how to handle and safely use a firearm. I have never needed to use any type
of firearm as self defense, though if I ever needed to, I know my right to protection
would not be infringed, or invaded. I fully understand why the necessity for
regulations, such as safe handling techniques and properties from which a person is
allowed to hunt, might be necessary. Citizens would not feel they need to protect
their homes and property due to knowing firearm regulations would be enforced. I
believe the initial reason the Bill of Rights was created was to protect the rights of
individuals, while simultaneously granting the government power as well. However,
we must also look at how the protections of both individualistic and collective rights
are afforded to each citizen. Aside from each amendment, no one protection is greater
than another. While it is argued the Second Amendment as individualistic, it is
important to realize why others see the amendment as shared rights. Some may
perceive the Bill of Rights as being entirely collective, and each

In the third painting of A Rake s Progress, The Orgy or Tavern Scene, the man can
easily be identified as the subject. Tom, the man in seen throughout all of the
paintings, is engulfed by females who take interest in his appearance and idolize
him. The text portrays women as being submissive to men and fulfill the title of
being second class citizens. Moreover, the image of men relies on the
misrepresentation of women. The exploitation of women in mass media dismembers
their existence (physically and mentally) as for men who are overrepresented for their
masculinity and domination. In Scene 5, The Marriage, Tom is getting married to an
older woman as the woman from the previous painting, Sarah, is being held back
from entering the building. Simultaneously, both of the dogs in the background
symbolizes marriage as it creates parallelism to the dogs displayed in Marriage A La

Evidence of this lies within the strata of Crete. Here it can be seen that a thin layer of
pumice, left behind after volcanic eruptions, exists at the same layer that remains of
the ancient Minoan civilisation were found. The following is an image of this pumice
within the strata:
Radiocarbon dating of this pumice has indicated that the eruption occurred
approximately 3,600 years ago, as indicated by the educational Thera Eruption
website (2006). This eruption however, did not bring the Minoan civilisation to an
end as there is still evidence of the Minoan civilisation found in the strata for another
one hundred and fifty years after the volcanic eruption. Start Dunn, an archaeologist
who graduated from the University of Durham with a PhD in Aegean Bronze Age
archaeology, conducted fieldwork in Crete and also concludes that, in his opinion,
this volcanic eruption did not cause the end of the Minoan civilisation. Dunn states
that: ...the volcanic ash from the Thera eruption obviously shadowed Crete for a few
days, but under no circumstances destroyed the Minoan civilization... Stuart Dunn
(2007), as viewed in Archaeology, mythology and history of Crete: Minoan

11. Comparing Brutus s And Mark Antony
Both Brutus s and Mark Antony s speeches are compelling, and play a very
important roll in the plot of the very famous play by William Shakespeare: The
Tragedy of Julius Caesar. This play was based on the actual story of Julius Caesars
death. Here we will compare and contrast their speeches, and look at some of the
effects they had on the plot of the story.
Firstly we will talk about Brutus s speech, since it came first. When Brutus gives
his speech, he appeals to logos, a more logical and straight forward type of speech.
He talks about how Caesar was a very ambitious man, and how he killed him to
protect Rome. If then that friend demand why Brutus rose against Caesar, this is
my answer: Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved Rome more. . . .as he was
ambitious, I slew him. Brutus. In Brutus s eyes, he was eliminating a threat to all of
Rome. When Brutus speaks about how Caesar was an ambitious man, he means that
he was too ambitious and wanted to much, and would eventually drive Rome into the
ground. The audience doesn t really react to Brutus s speech, and it doesn t really

17. Dante s Inferno Irony Analysis
Dante Alighieri, as you know, was a religious Italian poet during the late middle
ages who wrote on of the most famous poems of all time: Dante s The Inferno. In
The Inferno, like many of Dante s other poems, he uses an array of literary devices
that give his poems more depth and make a specific point to the reader. One of the
many literary devices that Dante utilizes throughout the Infernois irony. Dante uses
irony in two ways in the Inferno; first to illustrate to readers that what you do in life
comes full circle and haunts you in hell. The second way Dante uses irony in this
poem is in specific characters Dante encounters in hell to add some comedy to the
poem. Both forms of irony, however, serve the purpose of touching the reader and...

This usage of irony is used in certain characters in hell and it often has to do with
why they are in hell. Furthermore, the irony is portrayed in the stories that the sinners
tell Dante about how they wound up in hell. One example from the poem that shows
this irony come from canto V where Dante and Virgiltalk to Francesca and Paolo
who tell them their story about how they wound up in hell. Dante recounts their
story, On a day for dalliance we read the rhyme of Lancelot, how love had mastered
him. We were alone with innocence and dim time. Pause after pause that high old
story drew our eyes together while we blushed and paled; but it was one soft
passage overthrew our caution and our hearts. For when we read how her fond
smile was kissed by such a lover, he who is one with me alive and dead breathed on
my lips the tremor of his kiss. That book, and he who wrote it, was a pander. That
day we read no further. (Dante 39 40). In this passage, Dante recounts the story of
how Francesca and Paolo (Francesca s brother in law) read a book and fall in love.
Shortly thereafter, both of them are killed by the husband and they end up in hell.
In Christine Perkell s, Irony in the Underworlds of Dante and Virgil: Readings of
Francesca and Palinurus Author(s): Christine Perkell, Perkell exclaims, To
summarize: As Francesca tells her story, she inadvertently ironically reveals thГЁ
justice of God s judgment in placing her in Inferno. She fails to confess; she fails to
take responsibility as a moral Christian agent; she fails to see herself or her sin as
God sees her and it. Perkell sees the irony in Francesca s story just as Dante
intended it to be. What is ironic about Francesca s story is that while she tries to
make Dante feel pity for her, she reveals to Dante the truth as to why she is in hell
and the

appear on the skin of the penis, vagina, and mouth. In some occasions, the sore can
appear in the rectum, on the tongue, lips, or breast.
During sexual intercourse, the bacteria is transferred from the sore of the person
and enters the moist membranes of the sexual partner s penis, vagina, mouth, or
rectum. Once the bacteria enter the body, it multiplies at a fast rate. The bacteria
enter the lymph circulation, which carries the bacteria to adjacent lymph glands,
which swells as a response to the infection. During the first stages of the disease,
which is called primary syphilis and lasts for a few weeks, sores and ulcers begin to
develop, particularly in the genital area of the victim. Blood tests during this stage
may not reveal the disease yet, but the bacteria can be scraped from the sores.
Eventually, the sores will heal, and the victim may recover from the disease without
any treatment.
The second stage of the disease is called the secondary syphilis, which begins about
two to six weeks after the sores have healed.
19. Pricing Strategy Associated With Services
1.Pricing strategy associated with services is typically more complex than the
pricing of tangible goods. As a consumer, what pricing issues do you consider
when purchasing services? How difficult is it to compare prices among competing
services, or to determine the complete price of the service before purchase? What
could service providers do to solve these issues? Consumers pay attention to many
different factors when determining to purchase a service. One of the major
factors is the quantity of the service. When deciding on which carrier to sign a
contract of service in the mobile phone industry there are two major companies.
The two major companies are AT T and Verizon Wireless. The consumers that live
in a major city will just look at the deals that each carrier is providing since both
carriers have excellent service in their area. The consumers that live out in the
country or in small towns will look at a different factor. These consumers will
determine which carrier provides the best service in their area. There are parts of
Alabama that AT T s service is very bad and consumers have no service to make
phone calls or send messages via their mobile phone. The same location some of
the Verizon consumers have full service and no problem making calls or sending
messages. It is the same as the other way around in other parts of Alabama. The
consumer must make a decision on how often they are in certain areas to determine
which carrier will provide the best service for

Christopher Nolan is the last director mentioned. Nolan is addressed as a cinematic

Nolan s films have a genre hopping superiority, his characters are all fanatics, and
his film s plots and descriptions are refined to systematic accuracy. Heath Ledger s

21. Between The Letters Of Abelard And Heloise And The...
When Students first enter a history class, they come in with a basic understanding
of how much the world has changed over the time of human existence. The
students really feel like the world has changed from it first started out to be, but
when their class takes them into a small time period to see how much changes
happens in a little amount of time, it changes things. It s really astonishing how
much change happens in a minimal amount of time, that is often looked over when
looking at a larger time period. Changes do not come in small packages, change
normally comes in a bundle along with lots of other change. The change that I be
looking at is between The Letters of Abelard and Heloise and the Sixteenth Century
martyrs. Among those changes are; the role of religious practices, the role of the
Bible, and the role of women and families.
During the time period that The Letters of Abelard and Heloise, the main religious
power was the catholic church. Most of Europe were catholic and followed the Pope
s guidance. Going alongside the Pope and the catholic church, there were monks and
nuns. Monks and nuns practiced abstinence, as long as not being able to get married.
When a citizen thought that they have wronged God, then they felt like they had to
join a monastery. The belief was that it would bring you closer to God because of
their devotion the church. Religion was even see in the education that the rich

22. Leopard Sharks Hypothesis
Leopard sharks are a commonly known organism in the California reefs, each
summer they flock in large groups to the warm bodies of water called La jolla
shores. Researchers from the Scripps institute conducted a research and found out
that majority of the leopard sharks showing up at the beach were pregnant females.
Using the warm ocean as an indicator to determine where to go .The scientist s
wanted to figure out how the sharks knew where to go and end up on the same
beach year after year. So they conducted some research and realized that the sharks
are using their excellent sense of smell to get them to the same location year after
year. They tagged and tracked 26 sharks to determine if this theory they proposed was
indeed true. They wanted
23. Characteristics Of 20th Century Fantasy Fiction
20th Century Fantasy Fiction
What!
Fantasy is what dreams are made of. Fiction is what form these dreams take. Fantasy
fiction meanwhile is a genre which has its roots in legends, myths, magic,
supernatural and the impossible. It combines the ___of fantasy and the make belief
nature of fiction to create an out of the world (literally!) work of art. Fantasy fiction
may not necessarily be only literature, it can be plays, movies, shows or even video
games. It is everything that is missing in the real world. Also the thing about fantasy
fiction is that we can never be sure that it doesn t exist because of the sheer detailing
and the fact that the magic world is hidden even in the story.
Why!
Children are often read to fairy tales. The stories about how the princess gets saved
from the evil queen, or how animals are our friends, or how monsters are evil and
should be avoided. It s not without reason that they are told these fantasy world
stories. Since children s minds are a powerful and imaginative thing, these stories
help them to think creatively and can even define the direction which they want to
go early on. They also help develop critical thinking, teach right from wrong, boost
their imagination and also are a great source of fun. So it really comes as no surprise
that young adults and fully grown adults need a dose of fantasy fiction too.

24. Frankenstein As An Experimental Error
Frankenstein was the type of mad scientist who would isolate himself in a
laboratory, secretly creating another human life, only to discover he created a
monster (Haynes, 2006). The Frankenstein story was a product of the subconscious
rather than the conscious mind of its own author (Haynes, 2006). The monster
replied to the beauties of nature, to the joys of domesticity and ideas of excellent
novels (Haynes, 2006). The monster had both an alter ego and even denied that he
had a child while married to Elizabeth (Haynes, 2006). According to the novel
Frankenstein is known as the innocent victim of a mistake and his careless
supporter has brought him the brain of a murderer instead of a dignified person, for
inserting into his creature (Haynes, 2006). The evil character of the Monster is now
considered an experimental error, rather than the predictable result of Frankenstein s
hubris, and the allegation is that the creation of the Monster (Haynes, 2006). The
film ended with the Monster being burnt to death and the celebration of
Frankenstein s wedding to Elizabeth (Haynes, 2006). The film focused on the fact
that the creation of the Monster was possible only because Frankenstein would let
his normal, healthy mind become filled with evil and perverted thoughts (Haynes,
2006). When the monster eventually fades away, it leaves only his reflection in the
mirror (Haynes, 2006). The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is about a
London lawyer that go by the name Mr. Utterson,

27. Infertility In The Handmaid s Tale By Margaret Atwood
Infertility is the incapability or failure conceive after one year of unprotected sexual
intercourse or due to an impairment a person s capacity to reproduce either as an
individual or with his/her partner. While infertility can cause issues in men and
women, women are more susceptible to having issues conceiving naturally. 1 in 8
women (or 12% of married couples) have trouble getting pregnant or sustaining a
pregnancy(2006 2010 National Survey of Family Growth, CDC). There is a process
in which three stages such as ovulation, fertilization, and implantation that a women s
body must go through to get pregnant. When there are issues in these stages, infertility
is diagnosed and examined by a doctor therefore, making it hard to conceive a baby
naturally. Throughout this paper, I will explain three common causes of infertility
in females like endometriosis, sexual transmitted diseases, and poor nutrition. In
the story The Handmaid s Tale, by Margaret Atwood, women are infertile because
of pollution, STD s, and radiation. If in fact, radiation caused the women of Gilead
to be infertile it could possible because the radiation caused a chemical or hormonal
imbalance. With that being said, the world we live in today, the leading causes of
infertility in the U.S. is endometriosis. Infertile women are 6 to 8 times more likely
to have endometriosis than fertile women (Verkauf BS). This syndrome is found
mostly in women because this is where the endometrial tissue grows outside of
28. Characterism In The Play Hedda Gabler
A brutal mix of manipulation, affairs, fear, and death, the play Hedda Gabler is a
fine example of unhappiness in marriage and self. The author, Henrik Ibsen, creates
a scenario which highlights the faults of his main character, Hedda Tesman, showing
the audience where her true priorities lie. Throughout the play Hedda s character
begins to regress, obsessively trying to gain control over those around her by plotting
characters against each other and skillfully manipulating them. Devolving into a
caged manic when she is unable to get her ways, she becomes trapped in a marriage
that brings out her worst attributes. Ibsen brings about Heddas instability slowly,
using character Judge Brack to show how an already unhappy woman can become
a ticking bomb under marital restrictions. Putting her into more and more
precarious situations , until, inevitably, she explodes. Ibsen s use of literary foils
highlights Heddas weaknesses, revealing her true nature of cowardice. Building to
her ultimate demise, brought about between the collision of [her lack of] control
and fear. As in trying to gain control of others, you ll lose control of yourself.
Hedda Tesman has many visitors over the couple of days that we see of her life,
but a frequent visitor that leaves a lasting impression is Judge Brack; an older man
that is held with high respects by all. He has power in the community and is able to
pass through people s lives without much talk, judging those who he saw fit to judge.

This paper is a book report of Benedict Anderson s famous book Imagined
community: Reflection on the Origin and spread of Nationalism. It was published
by Verso in 1983 and had revisions in 1991 and 2006 with some additional chapters
and it became one of the most read books on nationalism. Anderson explains that the
concept of nationalism is a very new but a powerful concept, which has been
neglected by many important thinkers. Nationalism according to him is connecting
bound among the people of a nation, which creates an imagined community. People
do not know each other personally but they share a nation, which makes them tied to
each other. When it comes to the reason of why it is emerging in the modern times,
he explains that the main underlying reason behind the growth of the imagined
communities is the rise of the movements against the monarchs and the development
of the capitalism, which mainly started in Europe with the industrial revolution. I will

Nation is not a thing that can be changed or left away easily, he describes is as it is
felt to be something fundamentally pure . Д°n addition, Anderson explains the
emergence of the race concept which was a natural phenomena accompanied by the
rise of nationalism. However, he distinguishes the idea that the concept of race that
people started to understand and visualize in their mind is not the racism as a
discrimination concept but as more being bound to one s own race, what Anderson
calls it attachment that peoples feel for the inventions of their imaginations . He
explain that being white or a female or being born in a specific era is not our
choice, such ties are not chosen, they have about them a halo of disinterestedness. we
are out of control on that sense yet it form an important parts in our social

women s rights. Women rights have come a long way in education, work, family
life, politics, and sports. But I am writing to remind you the importance in women s
work force. Women have always in a general manner...been under appreciated. It

that men where away at war. Women worked both hard labor, and intelligent jobs.

31. The Bull At The Palace Of Minos Essay
INTRODUCTION
One of the most captivating tales from Ancient Greece is that of King Minos of
Crete and the Minotaur, a beast half man and half bull. This legend, immortalised by
modern films, has its origins in the Aegean, at a time when the bull held a special
place in society.
During excavations near Heraklion in Crete in 1990, English archaeologist Sir Arthur
Evans unearthed a massive structure built by a sophisticated Bronze Age civilisation.
Evans identified this as the Palace of King Minos in the ancient city of Knossos,
inhabited by people he called the Minoans. Evans excavations at Knossos revealed
an extensive body of evidence for the Minoan civilisation, an analysis of which
proves the bull to be a significant motif depicted on a range of iconographical media.
The Australian Museum s latest exhibition, Minotaur: The Bull at the Palace of
Minos draws on this evidence to present different representations of the bull at
Knossos, as well as to communicate the significance of the bull to the Minoans. The
blockbuster, which is expected to run from April September 2018 will showcase
over 100 objects from the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, as well as integrate
innovative digital technologies to provide visitors with enjoyable immersive
experiences. The following report provides a detailed overview of the exhibition,
beginning with an explanation of its value, content and layout, before moving on to
outline the target audience and visitor experience on offer.
32. Summary OfThe Yellow Pill Short Story
Sanity is in the mind of the beholder; one man s reality may not be the reality of
everyone. This becomes a sticking point when two men meet in either a
psychiatrist s office or in the depth of space in the short story The Yellow Pill.
Since both men cannot be in reality, the story takes place in a comfortable office
based on evidence from the story. Throughout the story, Mr. Elton talks with
Gerald Bocek in his office about the details of Jerry s crime. It is at the end of each
conversation they have in the office that proves them to be on Earth. Mr. Elton
tells the police officers to take Gerald out of his office and back to the mental
ward. For example, after their first conversation Mr. Elton says, All right, take him
away. Bring him back the same time tomorrow. The two officers pushed him
firmly toward the door. The officers taking Gerald out of his office every time they
talk shows that they are on Earth and not in space. Gerald would die immediately
if he was taken outside of a spaceship, because of the lack of atmospheric pressure
and oxygen. Gerald also comes back into Mr. Elton s office each day which means
he couldn t have died in space, which would be caused from leaving a spaceship
every time Mr. Elton and him talk. In the story Mr. Elton is discussing the
problems about Gerald Bocek with Helena, but before they had started talking
Gerald had told Mr. Elton to take a pill and that nothing bad would happen. During
Mr. Elton s conversation with Helena he says, I took one three years ago when
they first became available. You d be surprised how little you actually see of what
you look at, especially of people. You look at symbols instead. I had to cancel my
appointments for a week. Mr. Elton is proving that the pills blurred his sense of
reality. This shows that the pills cause hallucination and the reality Gerald is living
in is a messed up reality, furthering the argument for why they are on Earth.
Towards the end of the story after Mr. Elton has taken the yellow pill and Gerald
ejected himself from what they considered the airlock. When Gerald had ejected
himself it is described as, Jerry s chest quickly expanded, then collapsed as a mixture
of phlegm and blood dribbled from his

34. Modern Norse Interaction
The early Norse people of modern Scandinavia were an amazing group of people
that traded, raided, and farmed, we known as Vikings. Norse people were well
known travelers of most of the known world during the Viking age, approximately
800 1150 CE. Their customs and technology made impacts on civilizations a great
distance from their homeland. It seemed that once contact outside their native land
had taken place, an explosion of interaction occurred. They reached out and interacted
with people from the east, south, and west. Some of these interactions were ferocious
in nature filled with slaughter and raiding. Other interactions were peaceful that led
to settlements and open trading. From humble beginnings of farmers to feared sea

The Frankish emperor Louis the Pious and his sons were at war. The Norse people
continued to attack some and became allies for others. Louis s son Lothar
welcomed the Norse people and used them in future battles as mercenaries. After
Louis s death in 843 CE the Treaty of Verdun ended the civil war and the kingdom
was separated into 3. Charles the Bald became king of the West Franks. During his
time, near the Loire River, the Vikings founded a settlement. This was a major
disadvantage to the Franks and their trade routes. Norse men then began to travel
up rivers to find more monasteries and villages to attack within the Frankish
kingdoms. Charles made several attempts to fortify the towns to protect them, but
not enough to overthrow his rule. None of these strategies were very efficient.
Charles made an extreme mistake in 845 CE in an attempt to deal with these
Vikings in a new and less painful way. He tried to buy peace from the invaders.
Paying in large amounts of gold and silver to the Viking s he simply asked not to
attack him. This had the opposite effect he intended and led to waves of Vikings
attacking him, all of which sought to just be paid off . After the death of Charles the
Bald , his grandson Charles the Simple developed a much better plan to deal with
this threat (I love their nicknames). He gave the mouth the Loire River to a Viking

35. Baldassare Castiglione, And Giovanni Pico Delia Mirandola
The Renaissance and Literature During the Italian Renaissance, many people began a
new way of thinking and with this new way of thinking, came literature. With these
passages or books characteristics of humanism, individualism, feudalism, and the
interest in antiquity became clear. The writings of Francesco Petrarch, Baldassare
Castiglione , and Giovanni Pico delia Mirandola all give insight to the beginnings of
these ideas. Francesco Petrarch is a perfect example of a new found fascination of
antiquity through humanist teachings. In a passage from one of his literary pieces,
Petrarch scorns educators stating, There has arisen of late a set of dialecticians, who
are not only ignorant but demented...They condemn Platoand Aristotle, and laugh at

first should be to handle every sort of weapon well on foot and on horse...and
especially to be familiar with those weapons that are ordinarily used among
gentlemen... In this quote Castiglione is explaining how strong a man should be if
he were the ideal Courtier, completely focusing on the importance of a human. As
the book progresses, Castiglione mentions that a Courtier, ...be also a musician and
unless, besides understanding and being able to read notes, he can play upon
diverse instruments, as well as knowing how to play tennis extraordinarily well
and, ...that he does not seek or expect praise for it, nor let him seem to devote much
care or time to it, although he may do it admirably... The whole focus of The Book
of the Courtier, is to describe how an individual human should act, what he should
achieve, and what he should know if he were seeking to become a

37. Financing Green Energy
Investment in Green Energy Production
Case Study Indonesia
Introduction
The term Green energy refers to energy sources which have less injurious impacts on
the environment in comparison with the traditional sources of fuel such petroleum,
coal, natural gas etc. The use of green energy is intended to produce power without
causing much harm to the natural habitat and also in a rather pollution free manner.
Indonesia has been taking measures and been involved in policy reforms meant for
facilitating the use of green energy. Various projects have been initiated in this
regard. In the case of Green energy, the typical forces of demand and supply are
activated and this industry is becoming excessively lucrative from investment point
of view.
Investment in Green Energy in Indonesia
In order to select a potential project which is worthy of investment, the overall
dynamics of green energy in Indonesia have to be considered. As per the current
statistics available.
Indonesia has managed to cross the benchmark of USD 1 Billion in Green energy
investment and has observed 520 percent growth in investment in 2011.
As policy measures, Indonesia has various policies in place such as Energy
Law(LawNo.30/2007), Geothermal Law(LawNo.27/2003), Geothermal Business
(GovernmentRegulationNo.59/2007), Green Energy Policy
(MinisterialDecree:No.0002/2004) which would encourage the use of green energy
in Public as well as private sector. The aim is to increase the share of renewable

39. Legend The Legend Of Sam Houston
Myth Legend The Legend of Sam Houston: His True Intentions for Texas They say
everything is bigger in Texas, and that incorporates the legends who produced the
state s freedom. Texas history would ever be finished without covering Sam Houston,
standout amongst the most complex and intriguing characters in American history.
Since sources give restricted responses to the subject of why Houston came to Texas,
various myths have developed with the end goal to clarify Houston s journey and

calamity for Sam Houston. He couldn t take it anymore and immediately
surrendered governorship and escaped his catastrophe with Oolooteka. The great

governor of two separate states, a congressman, a senator and the first president of
the Lone Star State the Republic of Texas. With limited documentation clarifying
Houston s genuine goals for coming to TX researchers will probably keep on
debating the problem.
Myth Legend Texas Under the Terrible Carpetbaggers As indicated by one of the
state s most persevering myths, TX was overwhelm with carpetbaggers during
recreation time. Carpetbaggers was the highly derisive name given to Northerners
who went South after the fall of the Confederate States of America (CSA) seeking
personal, financial gain or political advancement during the Reconstruction Era
following the American Civil War (April 12, 1861 May 10, 1865). Southern
Democrats alleged that the newcomers were corrupt and deceptive adventurers
whose property comprised just of what they could convey in their carpetbags
(suitcases made of carpeting), who seized political power and pillaged the vulnerable
individuals of the South. This evaluation of the carpetbagger ended up plainly
standard in late nineteenth century histories and held its money among a few
students of history as late as the 1990s. Carpetbaggers
40. Florence Griswold Museum Mission Statement
The Florence Griswold Museum is located at 96 Lyme Street in Old Lyme, CT.
Florence Griswold was the youngest child of a sea captain. Her father lost the
family fortune by investing in boats at the time when Connecticut was losing the
boating community. This made them broke and in debt. Mr. Griswold went and
took out multiple mortgages on the house. Mr. Griswold passed away and
Florence Griswold outlived her siblings. She inherited the family home, and along
with that home came all of the debts also. Miss. Griswold had to figure out how to
keep her home. She opened her home to boarders, which was common in the late
1800 s and early 1900 s. In 1899, Henry Ward Ranger boarded at The Griswold home
and wanted to set up an art colony in New England. He loved the... Show more

This began Miss. Florence s chance of keeping her home in tack. For two decades the
Florence Griswold house and Old Lyme was a budding center for an artist colony. The
Florence Griswold Museum s Mission statement, that is found on their website, is
The Florence Griswold Museum fosters the understanding of American art, with
emphasis on the art, history, and landscape of Connecticut. I feel this accurately
describes the location I visited. The Florence Griswold Museum is not only an art
museum it is also the house Florence lived in, and the grounds that many artists
stayed on. The purpose of the house was too board many artists that wanted to come
to the artist colony and by doing so impacted many lives. The art museum is a
building of four rooms. There are three rooms that house the museum s collections
and the current exhibitions. The other room is the visitor amenities, the orientation
film, and a small little shop. My favorite piece of art in the art gallery was the Peony
Window Panel, Richard Beatty Mellon Mansion in

Bad Hooks Catch No Fish
A good hook is what, best, brings a reader into any form of writing. If not, then all
could be lost, unless it is mentally forced upon. This is especially true for a novice,
or introductory, reader getting into the finer aspects of literature or composition. Such
as, Paul Rankin s (2005) essay, on Hemingway s Hills like White Elephants, lacks a
motivated lead. The opening transition word could throw a reader in the opposite
direction Rankin would have hoped for. The beginning paragraphs poor lead could
cause one to become lost before the revelation of thesis which makes a poor asset to
novice readers.
With the opening word Although (Rankin, p. 234) would make sense if a complete
thought was presented prior. It leaves one to ask, what this complete though could be.
With this lingering thought of what was the original, paves the way for a very
complex sentence, which is still a continuation of the leading thought. Now for
someone venturing into the literary scene, to read a sentence of this magnitude,
could become hesitant to continue. Although, the composition of the first sentence
is artful, it could still be a hard read. Which, from a scholar s perspective is
refreshing and at par. But the little guy becoming a scholar has not earned his
letterman mark yet. It is wise to be careful into reading a sentence with complex
composition of over 100 words. Additionally, the first sentence, a summation of
multiple views could introduce a novice
