4. Visual Learners
 Use their eyes
 Learns best when given visual media to understand concepts –
images, diagrams, charts, maps, text, notes.
Traits
Remembers what they read rather than what they hear.
Uses colour to organize information – highlighters, pens, sticky notes
Takes notes during class or while listening to a presentation.

5. Auditory Learners
Traits
They are not afraid of speaking up in class.
Great at verbally explaining things .
Follows verbal instructions well.
Skilled at oral reports and presentations.
 Use their ears
 Retains information by hearing and listening.
 Does their best when learning from spoken sources.

6. Kinesthetic/Hands-on
Traits
Uses a hands on approach
Hard time sitting still
Rather demonstrate than explain
 Learns by doing
 Uses movement and touch to help with learning - experiments ,
physical activities, creating art, drama, music.

7. Reading & Writing
 Prefers to have information displayed in word and text format -
easier for them to absorb and store for future use.
 Learns by reading.
 Enjoys writing essays and notes.

8. It is important to know what style works for you,
in order for you to study and learn better. No
matter how you learn, we all have strengths as
learners that we use to help build our success.
