Law Of Attraction Essay
Crafting an essay on the Law of Attraction can be both intriguing and challenging. The difficulty
arises from the need to delve into a concept that blends elements of philosophy, psychology, and
metaphysics. To construct a compelling essay, one must navigate through the intricacies of this
principle, exploring its historical roots, its proponents, and the scientific and anecdotal evidence
surrounding it.
The challenge lies in striking a balance between presenting the Law of Attraction as a genuine
and influential force while also acknowledging the skepticism and criticism it faces. Gathering
credible sources, scientific studies, and personal testimonials becomes crucial to substantiate
claims and counterarguments.
Moreover, articulating the abstract nature of the Law of Attraction in a coherent and accessible
manner can pose a difficulty. The essay must walk the fine line between capturing the mystical
allure of the concept and maintaining a rational, evidence-based approach.
Overall, tackling a Law of Attraction essay requires a nuanced understanding of the subject,
adept research skills, and the ability to synthesize diverse perspectives. It demands the writer to
weave together a narrative that is both captivating and intellectually rigorous, navigating through
the complexities of belief systems and empirical evidence.

Computer Network Topology Essay
NETWORK TOPOLOGIES
Computer network topology is an extension of basic topology. In this discipline we
examine the configuration of computer system elements and their interconnections of
network lattice. Physical network topology deals with the hardware components
associated with the computer system including workstations, servers, remote
terminals and the cabling associated with them. Logical network topology deals with
representation of data flow between nodes which can be dynamically reconfigured
once the selected network equipment such as router is available.

In this topology, a single cable is used to connect all the nodes/devices on the
network. This cable is also called the network backbone. The ... Show more content

When the traffic intensity between the nodes is large then this topology is
preferable. In this topology, a certain proportion of nodes have multiple paths to
another destination node. Each of the traditional network topologies (Bus, Ring,
Star and tree network topologies) had only single path from message source to
message destination. Since Mesh Network topology provides multiple paths from
source to destination so that greatly reduces the probability of single point network
failure. The advantage of mesh network over other networks is that source node
determines the best suitable route from source to destination based on factors such
as connectivity, speed and pending node activities. Mesh topology is not cost
effective, this proves to be a major disadvantage for setting up the network. Another
disadvantage of this type of network is the need of a routing algorithm by each
node for path computation. When each node in the network is directly connected to
every other node then it is called a full mesh. This type of network topology works
best with small number of nodes in the network. When some nodes in the network
are indirectly connected to other nodes in the network then it is called partial mesh.
Figure 1 provides an example of both partial and full mesh
Steve Harvey Research Paper
Though many people know him from the drastic Miss Universe incident, it is
certainly not the defining point of Steve Harvey s career. From the successful
Family Feud host to Steve Harvey s morning show, he has created a household name
for himself and continues to bring comedy to the world. He once also had over 500
suits in various colors and cuts, but he is most remembered for his comedy. I believe
that the long lasting legacy of Steve Harveyis bringing comedy to the world, starting
the Steve and Marjorie Harvey foundation, and being an example of hard work pays

difficult for him, only making $25 a night sleeping in his car and showering in gas

has found much success in comedy. In 1993, he took over as the host of Showtime
at the Apollo until 2000, and also at that time he got his own sitcom, The Steve
Harvey Show that lasted until 2000 (Steve Harvey). He has also appeared in
numerous TV shows and movies. Surprisingly, Steve Harvey has also written
many relationship advice, including best sellers, act Like a Lady, Think Like a
Man (2009) and Straight Talk, No Chaser (2010). These books take a comedic side
to the typical relationship books. In 2010, Steve Harvey won another iconic TV role,
taking over as host of the game show Family Feud. Harvey has won countless awards
for his roles in television and in movies. He has been nominated for awards 16
times and won 14 awards in his career (Steve Harvey Biography). To say the least,
without being dared to enter that comedy contest, he would not be as nearly as
successful as he is
Data Analysis Method
Throughout our observation week we were able to collect vast amount of data both
from observations and interviews. In order to let our data speak to us and help us
to understand how the collaborative work is conducted between ITB and Royal
Danish Library we have adopted grounded theory method as a main data analysis
practice to work with. This decision involved summarizing cons and pros of using
this approach. According to Glaser, Barney G Strauss (1967), using grounded theory
involves development of theory rather by logical deduction then from
experimental data itself. The publication of The Discovery of Grounded theory
finds it relevant in practical applications and enable prediction and explanation of
behavior. As our field setting is not often overflown with different actors we have
decided to unlock behavioral patterns and get insight also on the profiles of
employees. By this approach we have enriched our data, by being able to see
connection between artifacts and articulation work, that draws an implication of
artifacts in collaborative work. Moreover we have observed that each artifact might
have different purpose of use as it is observed by different point of views from
different subjects. The fact that we were able to actually observe appropriation in
collaborative work, which can be described such as an assimilation of technology by
group of people in completely different manner as designer firstly intended to, made
us to logically distinguish between different
Genetic Inheritance Essay
Genetic Inheritance Genes are segments of DNA passed down from parents to
offspring. Genes are responsible for the development of behavioural characteristics.
When genetics and the environment contribute to individual variations in human
behaviour, the premise is that the inheritance of DNA influences behaviour of genetics
. Genes are not only responsible for the behaviour, but it is also the building block so
genetics alone does not affect behaviour. With other factors environmental factors
also influence the development of an organism. Nature versus nurture is one of the
biggest ongoing debates within the world of psychology, however the series of
correlational studies show the relationship between the the effect of genetics and/or
environment. While many psychologists theorize that genetics somewhat influence
human behaviour due to the genes and environmental factor. Type of studies used in
genetic research are twinstudies and adoption studies Twin studies are used to show
the common genetics shared by twinsdue to the correlation between behaviour and
genetic inheritance. Monozygotic twins (MZT) are identical and they share 100%
genetic material. Whereas Dizygotic twins (DZT) are fraternal and they share 50%
genetic material. Other than twin studies, the adoption studies let the researchers
show the comparison between environmental influence on behaviour and genetics.
Adopted children shares 50% of genes with their biological parents but no genes with

Effects Of Cellphones On Society And Environment
In a world and culture where most people own a cellphone and are obsessed of
using them, it is almost impossible to neglect to point out the harmful effects of too
much usage of this technology. Cellphones made today certainly has much to offer,
and without a doubt is a great innovation. But when it comes to relying on them it
can certainly affect us and what is surrounding us negatively. Today, cellphones are
one of the major part of our society. We always see someone texting or making a
quick phone call or even walking around swiping their phones to catch these little
rare creatures. Many people find these to be very convenient in their everyday lives,
but most do not stop to consider the harmful effects on one s health, society and...

harsher. It is something that will never go away and it can be seen by everyone.
Cyberbullying is now made easier with a use of a cellphone because you do not
have to turn on a computer. As we all know, bullying can lead to many emotional,
physical, and mental aspects of one s life such as, depression, eating disorders, self
esteem, and even have suicidal thoughts. The usage of cellphones have also
created less unity with families and friends. Whether you are interviewing
someone, dating someone, or even meeting up with an old friend from years ago,

Modern Thesis Paper
During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, changes in the dynamics of society
caused intellectuals to question the traditions of everyday life. From religious views
to the arts of literature, traditional values and forms were rejected, thus defining a
line between the two time periods, which can be considered as the start of the
Modern era. Also known as Modernism, the modern era used literature as an outlet
for expressing the thoughts and feelings of the time. Modern texts use city life,
industrialization and globalization, and ironic and satirical themes to showcase their
bleak outlook on life post both world wars. The nature of these events are aspects of

The mistrust of the world which is at the center of modernism can be attributed to
the world wars and the psychological effect that it had on the individual. The
horrors and violence altered public perceptions of life, a change that is evident
within writers of the time period. The focus of writing shifted from the outward
world to inner thoughts and feelings and overall representation of an individual s
stream of consciousness which are themes associated with modern text. In Impact
of Modernism , focuses on the idea that world needed new outlets for expression
and in finding them rejected the tradition that was already there with the quote,
Many modernists believed that by rejecting tradition they could discover radically
new ways of making art. (Impact) .The world no longer had the beauty it once did

Compare And Contrast Tesla And Thomas Edison
Nikola Tesla vs. Thomas Edison Throughout history, inventors have stepped up to
present their ideas to the world, and many have made significant contributions. Some
of the contributions and inventions are frequently used today to aid our lives.
Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla were perhaps two of the best inventors, who
impacted our economy and society today. Their brilliant work offered a more
comfortable future for many all over the world. But who was the more significant
inventor? Both Tesla and Edison were significant because of their inspiration for
future inventors, and their contribution to today s society. In some instances,
inventors use the ideas of others and attempt to remake or perfect the invention. Often

While this may not seem to have played an important part, it did contribute to the
pursuit of remote controlled warfare, introduced by the Germans during World
War II (PBS). Finally, and perhaps the most influential, was the idea of limitless
free energy. Tesla s coil and tower were the basis for modern wireless
communication. His idea was that the universe was filled with free energy that
could be utilized to form a world wide web, connecting all people in all places, as
well as allow people to harness the free energy around them, (in Activist Post par. 9).
Without this, the revolution of wireless communication may have slowed to a halt. It
was also believed that Tesla had envisioned the idea for wireless internet, where he
described a system that collected information, encoded it and broadcasted that
information to a hand held device, according to IFL Science (IFL). Though Nikola
Tesla s inventions did impact today s society, many still debate whether Thomas
Edison had a bigger influence.
Thomas Edison often improved the work of other inventors. As a child, he worked
as a telegrapher and experimented in his free time. In 1874, Thomas Edison created
the quadruplex telegraph, a telegraph capable of sending four telegrams at once. Thai
NT states in the Evolution of the Telegraph, that the telegraph later evolved into a
more efficient form messaging and communication later on (Nt. par. 2
Essay on Report on Gullivers Travels, Part 3
Report on Gulliver s Travels. Part III:
A Voyage to Laputa, Balnibarbi, Glubbdubdrib. Luggnagg, and Japan
In October of 1726 Jonathan Swift published his most famous work, Gulliver s
Travels. Most readers are familiar with three of the four parts of this work: the land
of the little people (Lilliput), the land of the giants (Brobdignag), and the land of the
ruling horses (Houyhnhnm land). However, modem readers may not be as familiar
with Part III, which has not received as much critical attention. Some of this neglect
is deserved, since this part is less focused and all parts of it are not as good as the
other three books. Some of it, however, is quite interesting and deserving of critical
attention. In this section, the narrator, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because Gulliver does not need a flapper, he is considered inferior and is placed in
the same class as women and servants. As Ernest Tuveson points out in his
Introduction to Swift: A Collection of Critical Essays, Swift especially hates theorists
who place quot;abstract principle above commonplace needs quot; and saves some of
his bitterest satire for them (6). Joseph Horrell, in his essay on Gulliver, points out
that whereas hi Book II Swift praises the practical mathematics of the
Brobdignagians, he satirizes the impractical Laputians, who attempt to measure
Gulliver for clothes by using a quadrant. Of course the resulting clothing does not fit,
but such lowly devices as measuring tapes they consider beneath them (60).
Unhappy among these inhabitants because no one except the inferior women and
servants can carry on a conversation with him, Gulliver decides to visit the continent
below, Balnibarbi. He finds this place as unpractical as Laputa, for some of the
inhabitants, after having visited Laputa and learned a little of their impractical
knowledge, have tried to improve agriculture and architecture by applying this
learning to it. As a result, they dress badly, their houses are poorly built, and their
farms produce very little. Only the old fashioned inhabitants who refuse to try the
new ideas live in decent homes and produce anything on their farms.
Banning Boxing Essay
Banning Boxing
Last year half the world stood still for one of the biggest spectacles in sport a
championship boxing match. In May 2002, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson
stepped in the ring to settle a yearlong grudge by fighting each other. For the event,
both men were flown to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they trained for weeks and
prepared themselves for the bout. The revenue created from stadium seats,
advertising and pay per view television (arranged by Don King of course) amounted
to over 100 million dollars, all leading up to a bout that, in all possibility, could have
been over in the first round. Months of preparation and millions of dollars in
investment would climax in a 3 minute event. ... Show more content on

Years of abuse in the ring (punches to the chest, head and stomach) have taken their
toll on him, and the evidence of brain damage is chillingly present in his constant
shakes and movements a reminder of the risk involved when entering the ring.
As well as the physical danger there is also corruption in boxing, as illegal gambling
on fixed matches can lead to gang crime and murders. As shown in the film Snatch
, a gang leader is led to placing extraordinary amounts of money on a fixed bout and
ends up in trouble with his clients when one of the fighters had a different bet and
caused him to lose. These chains of events can be seen as a justice for those who
take part in illegal gambling, but nonetheless it should be stopped. Boxing leads us
to believe that our problems can be solved with violence, instead of dealing with
them properly. If boxing were banned, it would almost certainly go underground and
cause even more crimes to deal with.
On the other hand, there are some advantages to boxing, in that it generates a lot of
income for the organisers, promoters and coaches, and even the boxers themselves
get a pay check in excess of one million dollars (in the biggest events). The fighters
are clearly willing to take the risk of injury and concussion to earn large amounts of
money, and if the worst should happen, they accept the responsibility of their actions.
Bending Moment Lab Report
Applied mechanics laboratory report Measurement of bending moment and shear
forces for structural analysis Azamat Omarov ID201102658 1.Theory and
background 1.1 Summary That performed laboratory session on bending moments
and shear forces requires good understanding and sufficient knowledge of axial
forces. Bending is defined as a behavior of any structural element that undergoes the
external load, which is applied perpendicularly to longitudinal axis. That experiment
helps us to find the maximum load that can be applied to the beam with rectangular
cross section. Moments are calculated by using statics theory, or multiplying
perpendicularly directed load by the respective distance to the pivot point. 1.2

Thar resulted in the maximum bending moment occurred. Moment was calculated in
the same manner as in the previous example with only the difference in direction
for positive moment. ∑MR1(left)= ∑MR1(right) ; R1*0.2 P2*0.34=(R2
P3)*0.24; The resultant bending moment was found to be maximum at the point
where shear forces are minimal and thus equals to approximately +0.3856 N.m
Regarding the moment about the cut, here our group was able to find the minimum
difference between the measured and calculated values applying the same formulas
and assumptions. The resultant moment was calculated to be 0.225N.m , which is
approximately 3% difference and thus can be neglected. It is clear from the
bending moment diagram that there is a point except ends where bending moment
equals to zero. Such a point have a different of bending moment on its two sides
(left and right) is known as a point of contra flexture. It can be easily found by using
moment equation about that point and equate it to zero. Taking that reference point
as X , we obtain: ∑MX(left)= ∑MX(right); 5.26*(X 0.14) = 1.962*X Thus the
point of contra flexture for those specific loads equals 0.223m or 223mm from P1

NOI Founder
The NOI founder was Wallace D. Fard, he carefully blended tenets of Orthodox
Islam with anti white doctrine that resonated with the psychological and social needs
of the economically poor African Americans. His followers were frustrated with
traditional religions inability to create change in their lives; these people were
acutely aware of the effects of racism on their civic and economic opportunities.
The NOI grew slowly and spread throughout various cities however, its membership
was very small, for the most part, considered an obscure religion, and did not attract
much attention. However, this began to change when a NOI minister named
Malcolm X became involved; he revitalized and headed mosques in Boston,

This led to a conviction for draft evasion; he served three years in federal prison. His
bold anarchistic stand earned him martyr status among the faithful and helped
solidify his position in the NOI community, where competition for leadership was
constant. When released from prison in 1946, Elijah returned to Chicago; he then
used his enhanced personal authority to begin rebuilding the NOI, which had suffered
during his interment.
While in prison, Elijah observed that through cooperation, the prisoners were able
to produce the food needed to feed the prison population. One of the NOI goals was
to be racially self reliant, because of his prison experience; Elijah soon established
farms, dairies, retail food outlets, and a number of small Muslim owned businesses.
Elijah Mohammed continued to be the leader of the NOI until his death in 1975.
Muhammad had named his son Wallace Muhammad as his successor, and the NOI
faithful united around his leadership. However, Wallace soon announced a new
direction for the Nation of Islam, one more closely aligned with Sunni Islam. The
NOI downplayed its anti white rhetoric and rather than abstaining from white
politics, voting and political participation was encouraged. In 1976, Wallace changed
the name of the group to the World Community of Islam in the West (WCIW).
Because of the numerous reformed ideologies, the Nation of Islam and its unique
beliefs was considered to be no
Queen Elizabeth I And Anne Boleyn
I know I have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and
stomach of a king, and of a king of England too. Queen Elizabeth I. Queen
Elizabeth I was the daughter of king Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. She would later
become the 5th ruler in the Tudor dynasty. After her half sister Mary s rule she was
hailed a hero and known for saving England through one of its toughest periods.
Even more impressive she ruled alone with no king. Queen Elizabeth was one of the
best rulers in European history, she overcame a lifetime of difficulty and was well
liked among her people.
On September 7th 1533 Queen Anne Boleyn and King Henry VIII welcomed their
baby, the future Queen Elizabeth I into the world, the king and queen were very
disappointed that Elizabeth was a girl. All the calibrations they had planned were
almost immediately canceled. It was almost as of they were shamed to have
birthed a girl. Due to her father King Henry VIII and her mother Queen Anne
Boleyn s questionable marriage and the timing of her birth many questioned if she
was actually King Henry VIII s daughter. Even if she really was however many
consider her to be a child of adultery (Doran 8). The controversy of Elizabeth s
legitimacy and Henry and Anne s marriages put a strain on the family. Henry
believed that his marriage to Katharine was invalid from the beginning due to her
previous marriage to Henry s elder brother Arthur. This convinced some of Elizabeth
s legitimacy. Since King Henry VIII had still not had a male heir and the ... Show

African Americans In The Civil Rights Movement
Proceeding slavery, racial discrimination was not yet entirely bygone. African
Americans had been forced into servitude for centuries, and in the process had not
only their rights, but also their culture stripped of them. With every year that passed
as a slave, a piece of their soul disappeared as well. As a result, rebuilding their
culture and regaining their legal rights as American citizens were necessities for the
new generation of free blacks. With this came the Civil Rights Movement. Art was
utilized to portray the feelings of the discriminated against African Americans in a
subtle, soulful manner. Zinn references a few different types of these arts by stating,
perhaps the blues, however pathetic, concealed anger; and the jazz, however
Oppression Essay
Oppression signifies an authority over another group, disengaging that particular
group from the rest of society. The term oppression encapsulates the fusion of
institutional and systemic discrimination, personal bias, bigotry, and social prejudice
in a complex web of relationships and structures that shade most aspects of life in our
society (Bell, 1997). In one way or another every individual experiences some form of
oppression, whether it be through race, sex, gender, religion, age, wealth and/or
sexual orientation. These cultural minorities experience inequality where a dominant

silence of oppression is of the past and the future holds equality for all alike.

fear toward those of different classes, its use is to gain power to which control is

Christianity
Christianity is a salvation religion. Christians and Buddhists turned to the idea of
salvation around the same time. Salvation means escape your earthly bonds. If you
don t follow a righteous path, meaning free of sin, then you are destined to be cast
into the pit of darkness, otherwise known as hell. The new testament of the bible is
what guides these true believers. The Catholics say, for instance, that if you sin and
repent by going to confession your sins will be forgiven. This is the only way to
ensure that the soul is clean. The idea of all Christian orthodoxy is that they follow
the teachings of Christ, which has many different interpretations. Thus it follows that

Led Zeppelin s Influence On Rock Music
Stemmed from a humorous conversation among musicians, the name Led Zeppelin
has had a great impact on rock music. Their influence had carried on past the 1970 s,
the time of their highest peak of popularity when they had toured extensively. Almost
instantaneously they had become a hit, performing four concert tours in the US
within their very first year. As time went on, many heavy metal bands such as Deep
Purple, Black Sabbath, Queen, and Aerosmith as well as punk bands like the
Ramones had been impacted by Zeppelin and showed similar music styles in their
own work. However Robert Plant, frontman for Led Zeppelinremained ingratiatingly

This had taken quite a toll on the band s unity as Plant had begun to separate

Plant in an interview remembered how his band had abandoned him in his time of

even more profound was when Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones (bassist), and Grant

hindered the relationship between Plant and his band members. However, it was
Page that had kept Plant from walking away from the band insuring that the band
was nothing without him. Plant goes on to say how, he [Jimmy Page] wanted me to

How War Has Changed Society
War has been around for as long as mankind has existed. War has been around since
the beginning for two reasons; because people either wanted to have a better life or
to protect their way of life. People go to war to gain land, economic gain, government
affiliations, and religion. Over the time that mankind has been around, warfare has
changed significantly.
There is not much known about prehistoric and warfare. What is known is that war
did not happen very often. Small hunting and gathering groups that weathered the
last ice age had cause on occasion to attack each other. Such attacks were probably
for control of food sources, important raw materials water, trade routes, or perhaps
locations of presumed religious significance. Prehistoric hunters equipped
themselves with weapons to make their living. It was an easy step to turn those
weapons on neighbors. The earliest known burial site that was related to warfare
was along the Nile in Nubia. The skeletons have wounds on their bones that are
consistent with warding off blows. There were also pieces of what is thought to be
small flakes of arrowheads buried along with the bodies. This is significant because
war is not a modern thing, it has been around since the beginning of our species.
There is a little bit more known about neolithic warfare. During this time there was
increased economic incentives for war. Competition and incentive for armed conflict
between groups grew once the agricultural revolution began. The food

Trona is used for many things all over the world. Tata began making soda ash in 1968.
Every year, Tata mines 4.5 million tons of trona. Tata employs many people in
various jobs, in their plant and mines. It is one of the biggest employers in Green
River,Wyoming. The trona that they mine and process, is sent by truck ,train or

On the surface, the plant converts trona ore to soda ash. They use a multi step

Doris Salcedo Installation
Doris Salcedo was born in Columbia in 1958 and graduated from NYU in 1984.
She creates incredible artwork ranging from minimalistic work to chaotic
installations. It is said that she focuses her work on giving a voice to victims of
violence and the Third World countries. Not only do I love the message Salcedo is
trying to put out, I also think her work is extremely creative. The piece that stood
out the most to me was her Installations at 8th International Istanbul Biennial. This
installation is over 1,500 wooden chairs stacked up in between two buildings in the
middle of the city. This piece goes very well with her focus on victims of violence.
This installation could be seen as a mass grave for anonymous victims. Each chair is

Empire Season 3 Effect
The midseason finale of Empire Season 3, A Furnace for Your Foe, left a major
cliffhanger that made fans puzzled and worried for the life of Lucious Lyon
(Terrence Howard). It looks like the death of Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) is still
taking its toll on Andre (Trai Byers), although he is trying to move on. According
to Billboard, Andre is getting the help of his new love Nessa (Sierra McClain) to
forget his late wife. With that, he is seen throwing his wedding ring into the ocean
in Empire Season 3 in an effort to go on with his life, but it seems he still has an ill
feeling with his father, Lucious. Upon throwing their band, Andre promised Rhonda
that he would do everything to take down the person responsible for her and their
child s death. Later, he is seen making a deal with Nessa s brother Shine (Xzhibit) in
Empire Season 3 while swearing that he would tell him when it is the time to kill his

gone in the other direction. For his mental instabilities, he s gone even more manic
in that direction, Hamri said. Does this mean that Andre is about to kill Lucious in
the continuation of Empire Season 3? Of course he means it. He is going to kill
his father. That s his goal. He wants to kill his father. That s what he s going to try
to do for the second half of the season, Hamri explained. However, it is not yet sure if
Andre can do it in Empire Season

The Evolution Of Owls
Owls are interesting nocturnal animals that have evolved in many ways other than
birds. There are over 200 different species of owls and they have all evolved
differently but they share some common characteristics. Some environmental
adaptations that owls have are silent flight, keen eyesight, and the ability to hunt.
Owls have silent flight which helps them catch prey. They also fly without much
effort, because their wings are large compared with the size of their bodies. With
large wings and a light body one can see an owl fly past but they will most likely
not hear them. Because of this owls can carry heavy animals, fly among thick trees,
and hover above open fields. Owls have silent flight from fringed feathers that muffle
the sound

Is Sugar Addictive
Is Sugar Addictive?
While people may argue that sugar can t be addictive because it s not like drugs or
alcohol, a lot of studies are testing that theory to see if it s true or not. Testing to
check these facts can include seeing if sugar shows addictive signs physically or
mentally on someone s body and brain.
In the article, Sugar Not Addictive says Edinburgh University Study by Edinburgh,
Edinburgh university scientists have found that the brain doesn t respond to nutrients
the same way as it does when a person is on active drugs. This is significant because
this means that there is no evidence that people are addicted to certain chemical

scientists have concluded that our brain responds to drugs like cocaine and heroine

Women s Suffrage In The 1800s

I have the right! The fight for women s suffrage went on for about seventy years.
Crazy right? In the early 1800 s, women were considered second class citizens. The
role that we see women have to was not nearly as close to the roll they had back then.
A woman s place was to be at home, baring children, taking care of the family and
the home. They were not allowed to have any interest in anything but home and
family; nor were they encouraged to pursue a career or have an education. Many
women did not even have the right to own property. Women today would not be
where they are if it weren t for the women s suffrage movement. The first fight for
women s suffrage started with the Seneca Falls Convention ... Show more content on

Many men did not agree that men and woman could be equal and that a woman s
place should be at home, cooking, cleaning and baring children. Most of the men
thought very little of women and believed that women were not as smart as them and
that even they could present women better than women themselves. As there were
those who did not support the Women s Suffrage group who protested for their

Cell Phone Use And Inattentional Blindness
Cell phones have become increasingly prevalent in modern life. At the same time,
they bring the possibility of many distractions. These types of distractions can be
potentially dangerous and even deadly (i.e. texting and driving) and can lead to
experiencing inattentional blindness (failure to see unexpected/unusual stimulus in
plain sight). Text messaging has been found to affect a person s natural walk
(Lamberg Muratori , 2012), showing that they can be very inhibiting for a
pedestrian. Thus, cell phone use while crossing the street could be very dangerous
because of not noticing surroundings (cars, people, etc.), traffic cues (stop lights,
signs, etc.), and the possibility of walking off the designated path such as a cross
walk. Although there have been studies looking at cell phone use and the effects of
it on attention, they mostly focus on how it has impacted drivers and pedestrians as
a whole, without differentiating types of people it could potentially effect. Having
information on the type of person to experience inattentional blindness because of
cell phone use could lead to better ways in improving people s overall safety and
awareness and decrease the amount of vehicle related deaths. Cell phone use has been
shown to be positively correlated with inattentional blindness. Schwebel et al. (2012),
discovered that pedestrians who are distracted by their phone through either texting
or music did not look at the street environment while waiting to cross the
What Is The Characteristics Of Puritanism And Pragmatism
Benjamin Franklin s life account is often presented as a surrogate narrative of the
history of the America in the epoch in which he lived. His account of modest
beginnings truthfully, but self consciously re created by Franklin nearly fifty years
later when he began to write his Autobiography has been accepted as the tale of the
America s first Horatio Alger.
Rooted in the New England ethos, Benjamin Franklin was indelibly stamped in the
Puritan dye yet exempt from Puritan spirituality. In his thoughts and deed he showed
possibilities of a secularized and humanized world view (Conkin 73). A study of his
autobiography exposes how the Puritan anticipates the pragmatism of such American
thinkers like Charles S. Pierce, William James and John Deway. This paper endeavors
to trace the traits of Puritanism and pragmatism ... Show more content on

I wished to live without committing any Fault at anytime; I would conquer all that

Franklin while describing the grandiose objectives at the time. He derived from his
Puritan background, diligence, preoccupation with ethics and a sense of
responsibility to an ordered community. But he approached the tradition with
detachment and selectivity . We find his activities confined to the world of men and
he is not involved in any mystical participation in divine being. In the earlier
passages of his autobiography there is a reflection of Franklin s initial optimism in
his ability to achieve the desired results and it perhaps reflects his enthusiasm for
deistic principles that he describes in the earlier passage of the autobiography. His
subsequent account of his failure to reach his goal bespeaks an understanding of
human nature in relation to the Divine that owes much more to theology of Calvins

Essay on The Art of the Renaissance
Though the Renaissance era included all of Europe, Italy was the cradle of the
movement. The cities of Florence, Rome and Venice were of great importance to
this period. Major artists created art mainly in these three. As the center of Italy,
Rome held the residence of the Pope and many other important factors. Throughout
history, the Roman Catholic Church was very insistent on promoting their ideas.
During this time, they used artists and their creativity to promote the Bible and
other aspects of their beliefs. Artists were paid, or commissioned by patrons (often
the Pope) to create art they wanted. One of the most ambitious patrons was Pope
Julius II, who realized the impact visual images had on people s ideas (Kleiner, 599).

His inquisitiveness of the world around him proved his interest in the advancement of
the arts.
Leonardo s Mona Lisa is probably one of the most famous paintings for a couple
different reasons. For one, Da Vinci painted it. He was a master of many subjects,
and this was his. He started using landscape in the background, he had never
wanted to sell it, and nobody knows who (or where) the woman is or fits in to
history. Aside from the fact that she is beautiful, it is one of the small art mysteries
that mystify observers and make the art famous, which makes it one of my favorite
pieces by Da Vinci.
Chapter 22 displays different renditions of the last supper including Leonardo Da

bore the title The Last Supper, but was later retitled Christ in the House of Levi (22

painted from the same aspect, whilst Tintoretto s is from a completely different angle.

In The Film Farewell My ConcubineAndThe King And The
Clown
Drawing on the two films Farewell my Concubine and The King and the Clown will
further explore how homosexuality is represented among China and South Korea.
The film, Farewell my Concubine was one of the first and most significant
discussions towards homosexuality being depicted on screen. It was released in the
year 1993, covering the period of the Chinese social upheavals between the 1920s
through to the 1970s in the setting of the Beijing Opera. The film raises the attitude
of homosexualityin the most painful period of the traditional Chinese history, for the
Chinese and Western viewers (Lau 1995, 22). According to Lau, this film was an
opportunity to stimulate the inherent of the Beijing Opera in relation to the
homosexual practices that were tolerated during the era (Lau 1995, 22). Zheng
further suggested that the film was also a chance to understand the homophobic
anxiety of the historical and political brutality in Chinese history (Zhang 1999, 101).
The film attempts to illustrate that the Chinese cultural connections and
homosexuality cannot coexist. The main protagonist, Cheng Dieyi, sense of identity
is heavily reinforced by the power structure within the environment through harsh
symbolic rapes. Lau suggested that the symbolic rapes, such as the loss of finger and
getting a pipe forced into the mouth are indications of homosexuality (Lau 1995, 23).
According to Zheng, the scene when Dieyi gets raped by the eunuch has exhibited
Dieyi s disruption towards the
Discourse Markers
The Use of Discourse Markers
So um, I mean yeah I was wondering if like, you had any job openings for this
summer? This was the way a potential employee approached my dad, asking if he
had a position for them to work this summer. Filler words such as um and like are
used very commonly throughout conversations between individuals in this day and
age, many individuals not even realizing they are using them. But why do we use
discourse markers? And do they make people seem unprofessional or uneducated to
potential employers? One view of the use of discourse markers comes from Jean E.

Cruz. Her works specialize in the use of discourse markers and enquoting ... Show

The women also typically thought they used less filler words than the men. This
was surprising, as it was not expected that there would be a difference in how many
filler words they thought they used. While this data may not be representative for
men and women of all ages, it does give a good idea of how college students differ
using discourse markers.
In the second part of my experiment, the participants were told the experiment was
actually about the use of filler words, and then they were asked to answer the
question Can you describe the moment you said goodbye to your parents before
they left you at college? . When the participants concentrated on not using discourse
makers, the number of times they used them went down drastically. Two out of the
three women and all three men told the whole story without using a single filler
word or discourse marker. But while they were not using these words, there were
awkward silences in which the participant would think about what to say next. This
was very interesting, as it may explain another reason why we use discourse
markers and filler words. We want to avoid these awkward silences in which neither
person is saying anything, so we use these words and phrases to cease the
Quebec Sovereigntists Swot Analysis
This essay looks to discuss Quebec sovereigntists and federalists, and how they
differ in their understandings of Canada and Quebec. To accomplish this, the paper
looks at three points of contention; how to understand history, the nature of the
Quebec state, and recognition of Quebec. The three points of contention show
where the two view diverge and why, but the paper views these points as merely
pieces of the puzzle. As such only after looking at all three points does the paper
reach a conclusion about the real differences between the two views. The paper
concludes that sovereigntists view Quebecas distinct enfranchised nation within the
confines of Canada, and while viewing Canada as a subjugator and an enemy to
Quebec. In comparison,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, only the sovereigntists us Quebec`s history as a means to define Canada. Do
to the nature of their relationship, they see Canada as a force that undermines
Quebec. The federalists may agree that Canada undermined Quebec in the past, but
this does not lead them to make any decisions about the country as whole like the
sovereigntists. But this does mean that both agree about the nature of Quebec`s
history. Secondly, both want to move on from this history. But this is where
differences arise. Federalists hold that to move on from the past, Quebec must
simply forget about it and instead value progress. But to the sovereigntists it s not
so simple. They view history as creating a path for Quebec`s future, a path of
subjugation by Canada. As such, the sovereigntists search for a critical juncture to
create a new path. They conclude is sovereignty as it naturally follows from the
history of Quebec. This in turn brings us to the final comparison, the justification
for sovereignty. Sovereigntists see sovereignty as following naturally from the
history of Quebec, and furthermore being justified by the nature of the history.
Federalists however do not. This is presumably due to the fact that they do not see
history as creating a path, and as such see the future as open and free. Thus the
history of Quebec causes sovereigntists to have a negative view of Canada, create a
path for Quebec, and justifying sovereignty, while federalists see the past as not

Comparison of Coproantigen ELISA and Serology indirect ELISA on liver flukes
infection.
Hiu Fung Yannis Wong
18123312
Introduction
In this experiment, both Coproantigen ELISA and Serology indirect ELISA were
carried out on samples from a farmer which suspected his herds are suffering from
Fasciola hepatica infection. The aim of this experiment is to find out if the samples
are positive for Fasciola hepatica infection and discuss the difference between two
tests.
Fasciola hepatica, commonly known as the liver flukes, is parasites that are
mainly located in hosts liver, feeding on blood of its host. The lifecycle of liver
flukes start by host consuming plant which the surface were covered by liver
flukes cysts. The metacercariae would be released from the cysts after they get
into duodenum of the host. The metacercariae would then burrow through the
intestines and liver, eventually got into the bile ducts (Kaewkes 2003). They
spend approximately 8 weeks to become adults, which can produce up to 25,000
eggs per day. Eggs would be exterminated via faeces, which start the cycle again
(Swales 1935). Fasciolosis is a serious global problem as a disease. In 1999, there
were approximately up to 40 million sheeps and 6millions cattle fed on pastures
which liver fluke is endemic. Fasciolosis does not only kill cattle but also reduce
milk productivity and quality. Graziers need to spend about $10 million per year just
to prevent fluke itself and production

18th century and what the people did with the inventions. The Inventions changed
everything that happened in that time and it changed what would be invented
forever, and that is why it is called the Industrial revolution.
The development of Railroads was one of the most important ideas of the Industrial
Revolution. With their formation across the US, they brought profound social,
economic and political change to a country only 50 years old. Over the next 50
years, America would come to see great bridges
Summary Of The Book Not Rants
Essays, Not Rants! 229: Meaning Upon Meaning Every movie monster in the book
has some sort of sociocultural commentary associated with it. Zombies are the
embodiment of a fear of conformist consumer culture, vampires are the elite rich
who drain the life of the poor, werewolves are your neighbor s double life, Godzilla
is nuclear terror made real. A lot of fun can be found in figuring out what these all
mean. Is Zombieland about the isolation that comes as a result of being the only
people special in a world of copies? Or is it a celebration of life in a post consumer
society? That s one thing I love about fiction is that there are as many meanings of
it as there are people watching. You see this particularly science fiction and fantasy
which, by virtue, often deal with some embodiment of the unknown/other, and thus
can really explore the parable ness of stories. But like I said, meanings. I see The
Force Awakens as a story about identity and finding belonging (which makes it
different from the original Star Wars despite hitting many of the same plot beats),
Firefly is a story fundamentally about family, and Iron Man 2 is about embracing
mortality. You could disagree and you re more than welcome to because, again, the
joy of fiction.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

mananatiling kawawa naghihirap at walang makain.
Show more content on

A Separate Peace

Setting: The setting in this book is extremely important. The backdrop of World War
II is reflected on the lives of the boys at Devon. At the beginning of the book Devon
is portrayed as paradise according to the main character Gene. The author really
paints a picture in your mind when he is describing Devon. Like for instance the
trees, the animals, and the rivers. Devon is sometimes considered the most
beautiful school in New England, and even on this dismal afternoon its power was
asserted. It is the beauty of small areas of order (Knowles 12). The story would be
different with a different setting because Devon is away from all the world s
troubles in a way. It has the appeal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I really didn t know much about Lance Armstrong before reading this book. I knew
that he was a record breaking seven time winner of the Tour De France and a
cancer survivor, but other than that, I wasn t really all that interested in cycling or
Lance Armstrong. Yet I still decided to read the book. As I read along in the book I
became more engrossed. I felt like he portrayed a lot of qualities that every man
should have. One of those qualities is his never give up mentality. It is said that his
mother taught him at a young age how to keep striving and to never give up. I
really feel like that is the main reason he overcame cancer and pushed himself to
break the record of winning the Tour De France seven times. When the doctors
diagnosed him with cancer he was unsure about some things. They told him that he
only had a small chance of surviving, but lance never gave up and was determined
to beat the disease. He researched a lot about the disease and he believed that his
commitment played a significant role in overcoming the disease. Even when
everyone gave up on him (including his own cycling team), he still managed to come
back and eventually win the Tour De
Preindustrial Society Compared To Today
Week one
Life in preindustrial society was very similar to today
During the 18th and 19th centuries, there were significant changes to lifestyles due to
the industrial revolution. This event allowed us to modernise and build the world we
are living in today. Yet life before the industrial revolutioncompared to today s
society cannot be stated similar. In the modern society, people rely on mechanisations
and machinery for living, however, before the 1750, everything was mostly done
manually as countries had not yet adopted machines. This caused a significant
changes in lifestyles from the preindustrial times to the modern world.
The industrial revolution was a global turning point socially, economically and
environmentally. Alternatively,
The United States The Home Appliance Industry
In the United States the home appliance industry is a mature market with high
penetration, therefore, replacement product is significantly important to the industry.
The United States has three major manufacturers for domestic production: Whirlpool,
General Electric, and Electrolux. The appliance industry is changing rapidly and
becoming more competitive with the influence of Asian competitors, specifically, LG
Electronics and Samsung Electronics, who are major applianceimporters.
Subsequently, in January 2016, a Chinese manufacturer, Haier, bid for the purchase
of General Electric Appliances, finalizing the contract on June 6, 2016 (Thompson,
2016).
Whirlpool Corporation is the largest global manufacturer of home appliances
(Innovation at the Pace of Life, 2016). Although, Whirlpool is globally the largest
manufacturer, they do not dominate all markets as they do in North America. In
North America, Whirlpool s strength lies in a strong and vast brand portfolio,
consisting of seven brands (Fettig, 2016). In 2006, the United States Department of
Justice approved the acquisition of Maytag Corporation by Whirlpool (Henriques,
2006). The acquisition served a two fold purpose, seating Whirlpool in the number
one market share position in North America and adding strong brands such as
Maytag, Jenn Air, and Amana to the portfolio. A series of acquisitions is accelerating
growth for Whirlpool and ensuring global market leadership. Whirlpool acquired
Italian manufacturer,

Law Of Attraction Essay. The Law of Attraction Law Of Attraction New Thought Feeling

  • 1. Law Of Attraction Essay Crafting an essay on the Law of Attraction can be both intriguing and challenging. The difficulty arises from the need to delve into a concept that blends elements of philosophy, psychology, and metaphysics. To construct a compelling essay, one must navigate through the intricacies of this principle, exploring its historical roots, its proponents, and the scientific and anecdotal evidence surrounding it. The challenge lies in striking a balance between presenting the Law of Attraction as a genuine and influential force while also acknowledging the skepticism and criticism it faces. Gathering credible sources, scientific studies, and personal testimonials becomes crucial to substantiate claims and counterarguments. Moreover, articulating the abstract nature of the Law of Attraction in a coherent and accessible manner can pose a difficulty. The essay must walk the fine line between capturing the mystical allure of the concept and maintaining a rational, evidence-based approach. Overall, tackling a Law of Attraction essay requires a nuanced understanding of the subject, adept research skills, and the ability to synthesize diverse perspectives. It demands the writer to weave together a narrative that is both captivating and intellectually rigorous, navigating through the complexities of belief systems and empirical evidence. For those seeking assistance with such essays or similar topics, a valuable resource is HelpWriting.net, where a plethora of professionally crafted essays, tailored to diverse subjects, can be accessed and even ordered to aid in academic pursuits. • 2. Computer Network Topology Essay NETWORK TOPOLOGIES Computer network topology is an extension of basic topology. In this discipline we examine the configuration of computer system elements and their interconnections of network lattice. Physical network topology deals with the hardware components associated with the computer system including workstations, servers, remote terminals and the cabling associated with them. Logical network topology deals with representation of data flow between nodes which can be dynamically reconfigured once the selected network equipment such as router is available. Figure: 1 Bus topology: In this topology, a single cable is used to connect all the nodes/devices on the network. This cable is also called the network backbone. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the traffic intensity between the nodes is large then this topology is preferable. In this topology, a certain proportion of nodes have multiple paths to another destination node. Each of the traditional network topologies (Bus, Ring, Star and tree network topologies) had only single path from message source to message destination. Since Mesh Network topology provides multiple paths from source to destination so that greatly reduces the probability of single point network failure. The advantage of mesh network over other networks is that source node determines the best suitable route from source to destination based on factors such as connectivity, speed and pending node activities. Mesh topology is not cost effective, this proves to be a major disadvantage for setting up the network. Another disadvantage of this type of network is the need of a routing algorithm by each node for path computation. When each node in the network is directly connected to every other node then it is called a full mesh. This type of network topology works best with small number of nodes in the network. When some nodes in the network are indirectly connected to other nodes in the network then it is called partial mesh. Figure 1 provides an example of both partial and full mesh
  • 3. Steve Harvey Research Paper Though many people know him from the drastic Miss Universe incident, it is certainly not the defining point of Steve Harvey s career. From the successful Family Feud host to Steve Harvey s morning show, he has created a household name for himself and continues to bring comedy to the world. He once also had over 500 suits in various colors and cuts, but he is most remembered for his comedy. I believe that the long lasting legacy of Steve Harveyis bringing comedy to the world, starting the Steve and Marjorie Harvey foundation, and being an example of hard work pays off. In order to let our data speak to us and help us to understand how the collaborative work is conducted between ITB and Royal Danish Library we have adopted grounded theory method as a main data analysis practice to work with. This decision involved summarizing cons and pros of using this approach. According to Glaser, Barney G Strauss (1967), using grounded theory involves development of theory rather by logical deduction then from experimental data itself. The publication of The Discovery of Grounded theory finds it relevant in practical applications and enable prediction and explanation of behavior. As our field setting is not often overflown with different actors we have decided to unlock behavioral patterns and get insight also on the profiles of employees. By this approach we have enriched our data, by being able to see connection between artifacts and articulation work, that draws an implication of artifacts in collaborative work. Moreover we have observed that each artifact might have different purpose of use as it is observed by different point of views from different subjects. The fact that we were able to actually observe appropriation in collaborative work, which can be described such as an assimilation of technology by group of people in completely different manner as designer firstly intended to, made us to logically distinguish between different

When genetics and the environment contribute to individual variations in human behaviour, the premise is that the inheritance of DNA influences behaviour of genetics . Genes are not only responsible for the behaviour, but it is also the building block so genetics alone does not affect behaviour. With other factors environmental factors also influence the development of an organism. Nature versus nurture is one of the biggest ongoing debates within the world of psychology, however the series of correlational studies show the relationship between the the effect of genetics and/or environment. While many psychologists theorize that genetics somewhat influence human behaviour due to the genes and environmental factor. Type of studies used in genetic research are twinstudies and adoption studies Twin studies are used to show the common genetics shared by twinsdue to the correlation between behaviour and genetic inheritance. Monozygotic twins (MZT) are identical and they share 100% genetic material. Whereas Dizygotic twins (DZT) are fraternal and they share 50% genetic material. Other than twin studies, the adoption studies let the researchers show the comparison between environmental influence on behaviour and genetics. Adopted children shares 50% of genes with their biological parents but no genes with their adoptive

While this may not seem to have played an important part, it did contribute to the pursuit of remote controlled warfare, introduced by the Germans during World War II (PBS). Finally, and perhaps the most influential, was the idea of limitless free energy. Tesla s coil and tower were the basis for modern wireless communication. His idea was that the universe was filled with free energy that could be utilized to form a world wide web, connecting all people in all places, as well as allow people to harness the free energy around them, (in Activist Post par. 9). Without this, the revolution of wireless communication may have slowed to a halt. It was also believed that Tesla had envisioned the idea for wireless internet, where he described a system that collected information, encoded it and broadcasted that information to a hand held device, according to IFL Science (IFL). Though Nikola Tesla s inventions did impact today s society, many still debate whether Thomas Edison had a bigger influence. Thomas Edison often improved the work of other inventors. As a child, he worked as a telegrapher and experimented in his free time. In 1874, Thomas Edison created the quadruplex telegraph, a telegraph capable of sending four telegrams at once. Thai NT states in the Evolution of the Telegraph, that the telegraph later evolved into a more efficient form messaging and communication later on (Nt. par. 2

Joseph Horrell, in his essay on Gulliver, points out that whereas hi Book II Swift praises the practical mathematics of the Brobdignagians, he satirizes the impractical Laputians, who attempt to measure Gulliver for clothes by using a quadrant. Of course the resulting clothing does not fit, but such lowly devices as measuring tapes they consider beneath them (60). Unhappy among these inhabitants because no one except the inferior women and servants can carry on a conversation with him, Gulliver decides to visit the continent below, Balnibarbi. In May 2002, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson stepped in the ring to settle a yearlong grudge by fighting each other. For the event, both men were flown to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they trained for weeks and prepared themselves for the bout. The revenue created from stadium seats, advertising and pay per view television (arranged by Don King of course) amounted to over 100 million dollars, all leading up to a bout that, in all possibility, could have been over in the first round. Years of abuse in the ring (punches to the chest, head and stomach) have taken their toll on him, and the evidence of brain damage is chillingly present in his constant shakes and movements a reminder of the risk involved when entering the ring. As well as the physical danger there is also corruption in boxing, as illegal gambling on fixed matches can lead to gang crime and murders. As shown in the film Snatch , a gang leader is led to placing extraordinary amounts of money on a fixed bout and ends up in trouble with his clients when one of the fighters had a different bet and caused him to lose. These chains of events can be seen as a justice for those who take part in illegal gambling, but nonetheless it should be stopped. Boxing leads us to believe that our problems can be solved with violence, instead of dealing with them properly. If boxing were banned, it would almost certainly go underground and cause even more crimes to deal with. On the other hand, there are some advantages to boxing, in that it generates a lot of income for the organisers, promoters and coaches, and even the boxers themselves get a pay check in excess of one million dollars (in the biggest events). The fighters are clearly willing to take the risk of injury and concussion to earn large amounts of money, and if the worst should happen, they accept the responsibility of their actions.

Bending is defined as a behavior of any structural element that undergoes the external load, which is applied perpendicularly to longitudinal axis. That experiment helps us to find the maximum load that can be applied to the beam with rectangular cross section. Moments are calculated by using statics theory, or multiplying perpendicularly directed load by the respective distance to the pivot point. 1.2 Objective The main objective... War has been around since the beginning for two reasons; because people either wanted to have a better life or to protect their way of life. People go to war to gain land, economic gain, government affiliations, and religion. Over the time that mankind has been around, warfare has changed significantly. There is not much known about prehistoric and warfare. What is known is that war did not happen very often. Small hunting and gathering groups that weathered the last ice age had cause on occasion to attack each other. Such attacks were probably for control of food sources, important raw materials water, trade routes, or perhaps locations of presumed religious significance. Prehistoric hunters equipped themselves with weapons to make their living. It was an easy step to turn those weapons on neighbors. The earliest known burial site that was related to warfare was along the Nile in Nubia. The skeletons have wounds on their bones that are consistent with warding off blows. There were also pieces of what is thought to be small flakes of arrowheads buried along with the bodies. This is significant because war is not a modern thing, it has been around since the beginning of our species. There is a little bit more known about neolithic warfare. During this time there was increased economic incentives for war. Competition and incentive for armed conflict between groups grew once the agricultural revolution began. The food

A kiln heats the crushed trona to drive off gases. This process changes ore to sodium carbonate. It is combined with water and filtered to remove pollution. The water is taken out, which forms a soda ash crystal slurry. Than it is put into a machine to remove the rest of the water. Then they are sent to round dryers. Some environmental adaptations that owls have are silent flight, keen eyesight, and the ability to hunt. Owls have silent flight which helps them catch prey. They also fly without much effort, because their wings are large compared with the size of their bodies. With large wings and a light body one can see an owl fly past but they will most likely not hear them. Because of this owls can carry heavy animals, fly among thick trees, and hover above open fields. Owls have silent flight from fringed feathers that muffle the sound

In the early 1800 s, women were considered second class citizens. The role that we see women have to was not nearly as close to the roll they had back then. A woman s place was to be at home, baring children, taking care of the family and the home. These types of distractions can be potentially dangerous and even deadly (i.e. texting and driving) and can lead to experiencing inattentional blindness (failure to see unexpected/unusual stimulus in plain sight). Text messaging has been found to affect a person s natural walk (Lamberg Muratori , 2012), showing that they can be very inhibiting for a pedestrian. Thus, cell phone use while crossing the street could be very dangerous because of not noticing surroundings (cars, people, etc.), traffic cues (stop lights, signs, etc.), and the possibility of walking off the designated path such as a cross walk. Although there have been studies looking at cell phone use and the effects of it on attention, they mostly focus on how it has impacted drivers and pedestrians as a whole, without differentiating types of people it could potentially effect. Having information on the type of person to experience inattentional blindness because of cell phone use could lead to better ways in improving people s overall safety and awareness and decrease the amount of vehicle related deaths. In the earlier passages of his autobiography there is a reflection of Franklin s initial optimism in his ability to achieve the desired results and it perhaps reflects his enthusiasm for deistic principles that he describes in the earlier passage of the autobiography. The cities of Florence, Rome and Venice were of great importance to this period. Major artists created art mainly in these three. As the center of Italy, Rome held the residence of the Pope and many other important factors. Throughout history, the Roman Catholic Church was very insistent on promoting their ideas. During this time, they used artists and their creativity to promote the Bible and other aspects of their beliefs. Artists were paid, or commissioned by patrons (often the Pope) to create art they wanted. The film raises the attitude of homosexualityin the most painful period of the traditional Chinese history, for the Chinese and Western viewers (Lau 1995, 22). In the second part of my experiment, the participants were told the experiment was actually about the use of filler words, and then they were asked to answer the question Can you describe the moment you said goodbye to your parents before they left you at college? . To accomplish this, the paper looks at three points of contention; how to understand history, the nature of the Quebec state, and recognition of Quebec. The three points of contention show where the two view diverge and why, but the paper views these points as merely pieces of the puzzle. As such only after looking at all three points does the paper reach a conclusion about the real differences between the two views. The paper concludes that sovereigntists view Quebecas distinct enfranchised nation within the confines of Canada, and while viewing Canada as a subjugator and an enemy to Quebec. In comparison,... Do to the nature of their relationship, they see Canada as a force that undermines Quebec. The federalists may agree that Canada undermined Quebec in the past, but this does not lead them to make any decisions about the country as whole like the sovereigntists. But this does mean that both agree about the nature of Quebec`s history. Secondly, both want to move on from this history. But this is where differences arise. Federalists hold that to move on from the past, Quebec must simply forget about it and instead value progress. But to the sovereigntists it s not so simple. They view history as creating a path for Quebec`s future, a path of subjugation by Canada. As such, the sovereigntists search for a critical juncture to create a new path. They conclude is sovereignty as it naturally follows from the history of Quebec. This in turn brings us to the final comparison, the justification for sovereignty. Sovereigntists see sovereignty as following naturally from the history of Quebec, and furthermore being justified by the nature of the history. Federalists however do not. This is presumably due to the fact that they do not see history as creating a path, and as such see the future as open and free. Thus the history of Quebec causes sovereigntists to have a negative view of Canada, create a path for Quebec, and justifying sovereignty, while federalists see the past as not

Hiu Fung Yannis Wong 18123312 Introduction In this experiment, both Coproantigen ELISA and Serology indirect ELISA were carried out on samples from a farmer which suspected his herds are suffering from Fasciola hepatica infection. The aim of this experiment is to find out if the samples are positive for Fasciola hepatica infection and discuss the difference between two tests. Fasciola hepatica, commonly known as the liver flukes, is parasites that are mainly located in hosts liver, feeding on blood of its host. The lifecycle of liver flukes start by host consuming plant which the surface were covered by liver flukes cysts. The metacercariae would be released from the cysts after they get into duodenum of the host. The metacercariae would then burrow through the intestines and liver, eventually got into the bile ducts (Kaewkes 2003). They spend approximately 8 weeks to become adults, which can produce up to 25,000 eggs per day. Eggs would be exterminated via faeces, which start the cycle again (Swales 1935). Fasciolosis is a serious global problem as a disease. In 1999, there were approximately up to 40 million sheeps and 6millions cattle fed on pastures which liver fluke is endemic. Fasciolosis does not only kill cattle but also reduce milk productivity and quality. Graziers need to spend about $10 million per year just to prevent fluke itself and production

I knew that he was a record breaking seven time winner of the Tour De France and a cancer survivor, but other than that, I wasn t really all that interested in cycling or Lance Armstrong. Yet I still decided to read the book. As I read along in the book I became more engrossed. I felt like he portrayed a lot of qualities that every man should have. One of those qualities is his never give up mentality. It is said that his mother taught him at a young age how to keep striving and to never give up. Whirlpool Corporation is the largest global manufacturer of home appliances (Innovation at the Pace of Life, 2016). Although, Whirlpool is globally the largest manufacturer, they do not dominate all markets as they do in North America. In North America, Whirlpool s strength lies in a strong and vast brand portfolio, consisting of seven brands (Fettig, 2016).
