 The camera transmits an image of the
organs inside onto a television monitor.

 Reduced hemorrhaging, which reduces

transfusion.
 Smaller incision, which reduces pain and
shortens recovery time, as well as
resulting in less post-operative scarring.

needed.

slightly longer, hospital stay is less, and
often with a same day discharge which
leads to a faster return to everyday living.

 Special skills required for its use.
 Not suitable to perform complicated
surgeries.
 May need secondary open surgery.

9. Precaution After
Surgery
 It is safe to resume normal activities
when you feel able.
 Do not drive for 24 hours or until after
you have stopped your narcotic pain
medicine since you will be drowsy. If
your stomach is sore enough to limit
motion of your legs, wait to drive until the
soreness subsides.
