meaning plant. thus bonsai is a Japanese art of growing
miniature trees in containers.
Penzai literally meaning tray plant ,tray landscape or
miniature trees or rockery is an ancient Chinese art of
depicting artistically formed trees ,other plants and landscape
in miniature.
During kamakura period Japan adopted most of Chinas
cultural trademarks ,the art of growing trees in containers
was introduced in Japan
