Deserts are areas that receive little or no rain throughout the years. They are known to have some of the harshest conditions on Earth. They have dry air and a lot of wind. They can be very hot or very cold, too. During daytime, the temperature in the desert is very high thus it is very hot. At night time, the temperature drops steeply thus it becomes very cold. A cold desert has snow in the winter.
