The document summarizes the LAICS Annual Summit 2013 where alumni, students, faculty and friends of LAICS worked with the Danish Police on co-creation challenges. Participants engaged in design thinking activities like story sharing, brainstorming, prototyping and presenting solutions. Challenges focused on burglaries and organized crime. Through these collaborative processes, the group explored how to design new solutions with the Danish Police. The Police Commissioner found the local dimension and app ideas presented to be inspiring for developing new approaches.

Explaining SSI to C-suite executives, and anyone else for that matterSSIMeetup
https://ssimeetup.org/explaining-ssi-c-suite-executives-anyone-else-john-phillips-webinar-48/
John Phillips from 460degrees in Australia has been exploring with his team for more than two years for a way to describe Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) that was easy to understand. We think he has found a good method to make SSI easy to understand for any C-suite executive and business people that goes beyond the technology.
John published a video in late 2019 that we found deeply insightful and we have invited him to share this with the SSI Meetup audience. This demo has been going down amazingly well with audiences from c-suite technology execs to design students.
This approach quite literally animates the discussion. People add other objects into the mix, move things around, ask relevant, insightful, questions.
John will share the learnings he is gaining from University research, as well as the results of work in supporting capstone projects for higher education students, and how this has led us to a storytelling model to explain SSI.

Sustainable UX - UX Connect Aarhus 14.06.2022Thorsten Jonas
As UX designers we put the user into the center of our work. This is how we define our job: creating outstanding experiences for the users, but, in these times we have to take responsibility for more than just the users.
As the great polar explorer Robert Swan once said:
„The biggest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.“
But what can we as UX Designers do to drive sustainability and make our work more sustainable? What does Sustainable UX even mean?
To answer these questions a group of designers created the non-profit initiative „SUX - The Sustainable UX Playbook“. SUX is a community with more than 1000 designers from all over the world sharing ideas as well as an active workshop space with more than 100 people actively working on ideas how to drive sustainability. Thorsten will give you an overview about Sustainable UX and the aspects of Sustainability in UX. And Thorsten will end with an overview about the initiative SUX.
A group of 7 people who attended the Service Design Network Global Conference 2014 in Stockholm on October 6,7,8 2014, have shared their experiences, take-aways and ideas in a Whatsapp group, during and after the conference.
This deck shares their findings with a wider audience, hoping to initiate a healthy debate in the service design community, on where we ant to go with our conferences. We hope to see you all next year, to share an even better experience together!
Innovation - thriving in the realm of uncertaintyAlastair Lee
To be successful innovators we must be content to operate with limited information. A master at this is Daniel Kish - a blind man who can ride bikes, climb trees and go for hikes in the woods un-aided. What can we learn from him?
I am a friendly and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary designer who is dedicated and willing to learn new things. I am based in the UK and I am a graduate who has just finished studying my final year in BA Design at Goldsmiths University of London. I have gained a variety of skills from model making and prototyping to graphical programmes such as Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. I have a background in the arts and have had a love for drawing and painting for many years and have honed these skills. I am adaptable and love to learn new skills.
While studying design, I discovered how much I love how the subject crosses over many different disciplines and fields and I look forward to hopefully working alongside these many disciplines during my career.

Talk at Interaction 18 - Education Summit, Lyon. It covers the ways of how we teach design through moving our classes around the city and through kinesthetic methods at MOME, University of Art and Design. Interaction and UX design is something that builds on very tangible, human practices. We tend to forget this sometimes. Thoughtful education programs, practical experiments can lead us back to a better approach to design.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
