BRIEF HISTORY
With the vision of expanding the coverage of
grocers in other cities in the country and
improve the LIFE quality of the people of
Ecuador, in 1976, Wright Durán Ballén
family, founders of supermarkets (currently
La Favorita Corporation), decided to open its
capital to natural and legal persons to be
part of this great undertaking, through the
sale of shares.
4. DISTRIBUTION CENTER
La Favorita Corporation owns the most modern Distribution
Center of America here in Ecuador that combines technology,
order and discipline in an area of 165 thousand square
meters. Furthermore, its 8 warehouses dispatch daily more
than 205,000 packages on average.
5. MORE CHARACTERISTICS
It is located in Amaguaña, outskirts of Quito.
To this place arrive more than 6000 suppliers in order to begin
with the distribution around the country.
The 8 warehouses are for: Perishable Goods, dairy
products and meats, meat and poultry; Fish and seafood;
General Goods; Toys; General Services; maintenance and
Winery of baskets.
It has a built-in radio frequency system that helps to minimize
errors during shipping; moreover, it serves to locate and relocate
product, carry out a daily control on stocks and evaluate
productivity.
Additionally, the high-tech equipment such as automatic
labeling, baler vacuum and the modern application of
packaging of meat at the global level.

Note: Its transport fleet is composed of more than 360 trucks and it is
equipped with communication radios with a satellite tracking system for a
perfect control of the established routes from the distribution center.
