Kundalini Yoga is an ancient practice dealing with expanding consciousness through energy centers called chakras. It involves mixing life force energy (prana) with eliminating energy (apana) through breathing exercises, body locks, exercise sets, postures, gestures, and mantras. This generates pressure to force the kundalini energy to rise up the spine and activate the chakras. The seven major chakras are located along the spine and are associated with different parts of the body, elements, colors, and soul desires. Activating each chakra impacts one's consciousness and relationships with the self and world.
