The Member Of The Democratic National Committee
Dear the respected members of the Democratic National Committee.
As of November 8th, 2016, Donald Trump is the 45th president elect of the United States. As much as
this is a defeat, or victory for a numerous amount of citizens across America ,that is not exactly what
this is about. I m here to say shame on you. If it wasn t already apparent, your chosen establishment
candidate, Hillary Clinton was one painted in scandal, dishonesty, secrecy, and unpopularity. I can t
imagine why you, the democratic establishment, felt it would be wise to practically ignore the
grassroot progressive movement occurring right in front of your eyes. It wasn t an anomaly, it was a
symptom of something much larger. It was a sign that the people of America wanted something
different, as they did in 2008 when they supported President Obama with the aspirations of Hope and
Change . This selfish of choice of yours was a complete betrayal of the people who have supported
you over the decades. It is more than evident that the DNC had a bit of favoritism in this election
process, and that statement alone represents and highlights a significant amount of irresponsibility.
Based on political normalities, winning the presidency after 8 years of that same party holding the
office is not an easy task. Propelling a notably unpopular candidate with well known scandals on her
resume was quite frankly an awful decision. it s apparent that the enthusiasm for Clinton wasn t there,
and definitely did not

Africa Shaped By Technology And Atmosphere Before The 1800s
Africa Shaped by Technology and Atmosphere Before the 1800s
Hieroglyphs can be considered one of the oldest forms of literature; Egyptians developed this
technology at around 4,000 BC. Reasons for creating hieroglyphs are art, and communication
(Mattessich). Parallel to that, farming was another type of technology that was being developed along
the north of Africa and the river Nile, by the upcoming kingdom of Africa. Nubia (modern day Sudan)
also gave rise to another kind of technology in term of agriculture, the cattle herding, their location
made it easy to feed animals because it was tropical and had lots of vegetation. Hunter gathers were
living since the beginnings of times, so this is not a new developed technology but it is significant to
say that the rest of Africa was occupied by them (Britton). By 1,500 BC the Egyptian empire was the
leading power over Mesopotamia, Syrian and Canaan. Around this time somewhere in north Africa,
sub Saharan or the highlands of Ethiopia the domestication of sorghum and millet occurred, giving a
boost in the agricultural aspect and helping societies being more settle (Zohary and Hopf), millet is
thought to be brought from east Asia through land, since it was it has been cultivated there since 8,000
BC years (Lu, Zhang and Liu). This is a crucial event because sorghum and millet are harder to farm
that wheat and barley. Since Africa never had an established continental Bronze era it is generally said
that they jumped from Stone Age

Squeaky Character Analysis
Some people s personalities are like pineapples. rough and tough on the outside and soft out in inside.
Take Squeaky for example. She is very rough on the inside. Her confidence makes her stay strong and
tough, but on the inside of her, is where she s caring for her brother, Raymond.
At first, you might interpret that Squeaky is not nice at all when she is really, is a confident girl who
does not like to be a chicken. This takes place in New York City on 34th street. When Squeaky is
walking down Broadway with Raymond, her brother, all of a sudden she sees Gretchen and her
sidekicks. Gretchen and her nasty sidekicks like to tease Raymond because Raymond has mental
disabilities.

where she and five other girls are gonna race 50 yards. Squeaky is talking to the person who is
coaching the race about the race. Squeaky feels very confident that she is going to win the race against
Gretchen, and four other girls. There are three main people in the scene. One. The coach who is
coaching the 50 yard dash, two, Gretchen who is also participating in the same race with Squeaky.
Finally, three, Raymond, who is going to chant and help Squeaky by cheering her on with her race.
When Squeaky is talking to the coach it seems like she is a little angry at the coach.Squeaky is getting
ready for the race and the race official wants Squeaky to purposely lose the race, so she can give
someone else a break. Well Hazel Elizabeth Deborah Parker, gonna give someone else a break this
year? I squint at him real hard to see if he s seriously thinking I should lose the race on purpose just to

has lots of roughness and toughness on the outside, and caring for her brother and wanting satisfaction

Comparative Analysis of Economic and Political Cleavages...
Comparative Analysis of Economic and Political Cleavages in South Africa and Zimbabwe
Introduction
Comparative politics is concerned with examining the characteristics or qualities of two different
political entities to discover resemblances or differences. These entities can be general in nature, for
example, the comparison of two countries, or more specific in nature, comparing two different
systems of government. But, whether general or specific in nature, comparative politics tries to
determine what caused the governments to form in the way that they did.
One way to do this is to look for the cleavages that affected each of the countries in question. A
cleavage is a split that occurs within a culture and can cause conflict ... Show more content on

This brief discussion will cover such areas as land reform and the impact of political decision making
on landowners and non landowners in a historically agrarian and ranked society and on race,
substandard housing, unemployment, and unequal allocation of funding for public health.
Land Reform
Historically, land reform programs in South Africa and Zimbabwe has been similar in some respects.
It is necessary to briefly review the history of each country in respect to this cleavage to better
understand current discontinuities and to note the clear differences in contemporary land reform that
are being implemented in the two countries.
Both South Africa and Zimbabwe were British colonies. All the land in these colonies was owned by
white Europeans and farmed by poor black Africans. In 1980, Rhodesia broke from the bondage of
white rule and elected its first black president, Robert Mugabe, who came with promises of restoration
of the land to native Africans, and of better health care and educational opportunities. The now
independent Rhodesia was renamed Zimbabwe in 1980.
But during the 1980 s, drought and white emigration badly damaged the economy, which already
strained by the need for massive government spending in the long neglected areas of black education,
health, and social services. The cleavages over land distribution, which continue today, present an
ongoing challenge to the government and an obstacle to agricultural development and will be

Black Like Me By John Howard Griffin
In the book Black Like Me by John Howard Griffin the reader can experience life on the other side of
the color line through his words. John Howard Griffin was an author, more specifically was a
journalist and a specialist on race issues. His desire was to know if Southern whites were racist against
the Negro population of the Deep South, or if they really judged people based on the individual s
personality as they said. Because of this he felt that they had encouraged him to cross the color line
and write Black Like Me. He became another person so he could tell the story of being a black man in
the 1950s south. After his experience Griffin became a leading advocate in the Civil Rights
Movement. He did a lot to promote awareness of the racial situations. John Griffin, in the beginning of
the story is a white man from a nice neighborhood with a wife and two kids. He is medium height but
very large around the middle. However, Griffin wanted to experience firsthand the obstacles and
hardships of being black in America so that he may understand what life is like for blacks. Griffin
underwent a series of medical treatments to change his skin color temporarily to black. He went to his
dermatologist for help. He took pills to darken his skin tone; he used a sun lamp to darken it more.
The transformation was complete when Griffin shaved off his hair, looked in the mirror, and saw a
bald, middle aged black man. After he changed his skin tone he was ready to see how

The Theories Of Psychology And Behaviorism
When one hears the word psychology, a therapist on a couch asking patients to talk out their problems
usually come to mind. In fact, the field is much more important and relevant in our everyday lives
than one may think. Cambridge s Dictionaries Online website defines it as the scientific study of the
way the human mind works and how it influences behavior, or the influence of a particular person s
character on their behavior (2015). How we act and react, what we think and say, and why we do what
we do are all topics that psychology cover.
Many great thinkers and scientists have taken up their time into developing laws and theories in this
broad field of science. Among the vanguard of some of the more eminent scientists is Abraham ...

Background Life
Childhood and Youth
Abraham Maslow was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1908. In Edward Hoffman s biography of
Abraham Maslow, he explains how he was the oldest of seven children born to parents Samuel and
Rose Maslow, who were Jewish parents to migrate from Russia to America in pursuit of a better life
for their family. Although the Maslows were uneducated, Hoffman explained they put high value in
education and encouraged it among their children (Hoffman, 1988). Given the prevalence of racism in
the United States during his age, he suffered anti Semitism from both his peers and teachers in school.
He also dealt with tension in the home as a result of animosity between himself and his mother. In the
book, Hoffman mentioned that Maslow was once quoted saying, What I had reacted to was not only
her physical appearance, but also her values and world view, her stinginess, her total selfishness, her
lack of love for anyone else in the world even her own husband and children her narcissism, her Negro
prejudice, her exploitation of everyone, her assumption that anyone was wrong who disagreed with
her, her lack of friends, her sloppiness and dirtiness... His lack of friends caused him to have more

Catholics Should Legalize Euthanasia
Euthanasia is a controversial topic all around the world. Many governments debate whether or not it
should be legal inside their borders. Catholics have a particular definition of what euthanasia is, why
its is against our human rights, and why it should be stopped. The catholic definition of euthanasia is
that it is a grave violation of G d s law, since it it is the deliberate and morally unacceptable killing of
a human person (Evangelium Vitae). Euthanasia is the killing of one s self before G d does, and
therefore morally wrong. By killing one s self, we do not allow room for G d in our lives and reject
His plan for His creation. It also is the act of predicting the future (which no one can do), and not
allowing G d to permit miracles and intervene into one s life. It also violates the virtue of hope
because it denies that G d is never ending with his love of every human person.
No one except G d can make the final decision about when our lives should end. We do not have the
right to dictate when and where we should die. A right is a moral claim, and only G d posses that
power over us; We are stewards, not owners, of the life God has entrusted us. It is not ours to dispose
of, (CCC 2279). We do not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Christians have a duty protect and preserve human rights through the fifth commandment: Thou shalt
not kill (Exodus 20). Euthanasia is the direct killing of one s self, and therefore a direct violation of
the 5th commandment. 1 Corinthians 6:19 20 tells us Or do you not know that your body is a temple
of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought
with a price. So glorify God in your body. By killing one s self you are rejecting the Holy Spirit you
and destroying the body G d has so graciously given you. A catholic who is pro life must also be
against euthanasia. Both concern those who are in vulnerable states and whose sanctity must be

The Health Of The Livestock Production Of Poultry Carrying...
The Acute phase proteins are produced as the develop of a response caused after a variety of
conditions stimulated by inflammatory cells producing chemical substances that activate specific
organs to produce these proteins to reconstitute homeostasis and thus restore the injured tissue. Even
though the Acute Phase Response generated is not specific for each determined disease, the
measurement of these proteins in an animal may indicate the occurrence of an unhealthy condition,
and a further diagnosis and prognosis of the illness could be accomplish. Regarding veterinary public
health, the livestock production represents a significant field from where products for human
consumption are provided. Thus, the measurement of these proteins in ... Show more content on

These are plasma proteins which are released into the blood stream, mainly produced in the liver by
the hepatocytes (Cray et al., 2009) as part of the Acute Phase Response (APR), that either increase or
decrease in response to the tissue damage (Jain et al., 2011; Stahl, 1987; Gruys et al., 2005). The APR
is a non specific and complex systemic reaction, part of the early defense or innate immune system,
which is triggered by different stimuli such as infections, trauma and inflammations in order to
reconstitute homeostasis and induce healing (Cray et al., 2009; Tothova et al., 2014). As well as in
humans, APP in animals are sensitive to similar triggering events in response to inflammatory stimuli.
A variety of APP have been recorded, such as: fibrinogen, haptoglobin (HP), serum amyloid A (SAA);
C reactive protein (CRP); ceruloplasmin (CER), major acute phase protein (MAP) and α1 acid
glycoprotein (AGP) (Stahl, 1987; Gruys et al., 2005); differentiating their levels according to each
species (Cray et al., 2009; Eckersall and Bell, 2010). Thus, APP have been described for their
application in human medicine to diagnose and prognosticate different inflammatory and organ
diseases. However; altered levels of APP monitored in animals might provide an alternative method to
measure conditions or situations that may be influencing the concentration of these proteins in plasma
(Tothova et al., 2014). For instance, in livestock; APP have been presented as markers of health

4. What is your personal feeling to this films theme(s) or topic and why is it important to you?
I feel happy that courage was the overall films theme, because courage is what motivates us to follow

accomplishments would not have happened in history.

what the film speaks to? Why or why not?
This film helps me to shape my overall outlook at multicultural issues and problems we face as a

The Atonement
The Atonement of Christ
The Atonement is the most wonderful gift we have ever received. It was given to us to lift, to bless, to
strengthen, to sustain, to guide, and to forgive us (Richards, The Atonement Covers All Pain ). The
Savior died for us, suffered for us, and now tarries with us so we all have a chance to return to Him
and our Father in Heaven. God gave us His Son to save us all. This life gets hard to weather on our
own, especially in these times. That s why we have to hold on to this gift and utilize it always. A big
part of the Atonement is faith. Hebrews 11:1 3 explains faith perfectly: [F]aith is the substance of
things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...Through faith we understand that the worlds were

I wouldn t even try to look up because it hurt too much. My family was usually indifferent or mad at
me for my choices. I felt like I had no one. Luckily, I had an amazing and truly inspired Young
Women s President. She came often to encourage my sisters and me to go to activities, and she would
even pick us up for church. One day we had this youth activity where the leaders took each of us on
our own and just asked how everything was going. I hadn t really told anyone about my figurative
jump off the cliff, but I couldn t handle being numb anymore and decided to let her know some. She
was horrified and sad at the same time. I was ready for her to offer a I m so sorry and then treat me
like we never talked about it. But her response was the exact opposite. She started pushing more. She
got me in with the Bishop, and we worked on my repentance. I knew it was the right path, but I still
had a really hard time with it. One day my Young Women s President took me home and told me a
simple sentence that changed everything. She said, God really loves you, Jade. He wanted me to tell
you that. I remember crying because I didn t feel like anyone could love me. That s when I started
having faith. I often struggled with my trials, but I started to rely on the Lord. Only when I gave God
my faith did I begin to change. My heart changed. I was so thankful. I know I wouldn t have been able
to get out of the hole I was in without the Atonement. It changed me and carried me through the guck.

Forrest Gump Is The Portrayal Of A Man That Has Been...
Introduction
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you re gonna get. Forrest Gump is the portrayal
of a man that has been alienated from society, not because he is unintelligent or dimwitted, but rather
because he is not restricted by the conventional ideals, which are embedded, within his culture; thus,
Forrest challenges the conformities and principals that most people are accustomed to. The contrast
that Robert Zemeckis, director of the film, is attempting to convey through the character of Forrest
Gump is how most people are too smart for there own good; and thus, try to escape the realities and
actualities of life. While other characters in the story are suppressed by society s conflicts, Forrest
remains blinded to all; hence, he is able to live in the moment, rather than evading what is real. Forrest
s unique selflessness and compelled nature to do what is right, as opposed to what is easy, are what
our society incorrectly labels stupidity or ignorance. Zemeckis is obviously pointing out that an
individual has no control over his or her own destiny and in order to live a noble life, must accept life
as it is.
I think it is very appropriate that Zemeckis begins his movie with the scene in which he does. Starting
with Forrest s worn out and dirty shoes with a camera shot of a feather floating on the breeze
foregrounds the entire movie. It is an obvious symbol for Forrest and the way he just casually makes
his way through the worst of times

Marketing Of The Craft Beer Industry Essay
Five Major Trends
Rivalry in the craft beer industry is high and in addition to the excise tax and overall high
manufacturing cost have promoted mergers and acquisitions in order to consolidate and globalize the
industry. Anheuser Busch InBev merged with Belgium based Inbev as one of the major transactions in
2008, forming Anheuser Busch InBev. Heineken (HEINY) another major brewer, acquired the beer
business of FEMSA in 2010. As in 2013, Anheuser Busch InBev one of the market leaders acquired
Grupo Modelo, Mexican brewer. In the following year 2014, Anheuser Busch InBev reacquire
Oriental Brewery, South Korea brewer. (Sharon Bailey) The acquisitions combined their market share
and currently owns 41.2 percent of the US market.(Statista)
Although sales of premium brands have fallen in a steady response to the growing popularity of the
craft beer. The industry revenue has been stable over the past 5 years. As a result, from 2011 to 2016
the industry revenue is expected an increase and growth annually at 6.7 percent over the five
years, with a total of $39.5 billion . (IBISWorld iExpert) In the long term, these numbers are expected

Similarities Between Crocodile Dundee And Red Dog Mateship
Good morning/Afternoon Ms Phillips and fellow peers, today this speech is going to be examining
how mateship is represented within the two films, Crocodile Dundee and Red Dog . Mateship has
been developed over many years through the actions of loyalty and respect that individuals have
demonstrated. Within both films, all the characters show characteristics of mateship when they protect
and look after each other. This speech will argue how mateship is positively portrayed through the
actions from the characters.

portrayed the characteristics in reality and through movies. Crocodile Dundee is an Australian comedy

Comparing Hinduism And Shintoism
Hinduism, Buddhism, and Shintoism
Both Hinduism and Buddhism originated in India. Hinduism originated first when around 1500 B.C
the Indian civilization was overtaken by an invasion of pastoral nomads from around the Caspian Sea,
north of Persia. These nomads continued to invade the region over several hundred years, conquering
and settling among the native people. As a result of the clashes between these two cultures Hinduism
emerged as a result of the fusion of the beliefs that the native people of India and the new arrivals had.
Hindu priests created a caste system to deal with the problems caused by racial tensions between the
new arrivals and the native Indians. The caste system divided the population into groups in which
highest caste were the Hindu priests, who were followed by the warriors, the farmers and merchants,
the servants and laborers, and ultimately the lowest caste were the war captives and slaves.
The first encounter between Hinduism and Buddhism occurred consequently when Buddhism was
created, since a Hindu prince named Siddhartha Gautama (also known as Buddha or The enlightened )

The first conflict in which there was significant violence occurred in the third century B.C. when the

many Hindus who in return persecuted Buddhists after the Mauryan Empire fell. After these events the
relationship between Hindus and Buddhists became very hostile until finally in the 13th century
Buddhism became extinct in India, however, Buddhism kept spreading in Asia. Another more recent
conflict between Buddhists and Hindus can be appreciated in Sri Lanka. This conflict was a civil war

The Nature of Traffic Flow on Freeways
INTRODUCTION A modified approach to explaining the nature of traffic flow on freeways is
described in this research. It has its beginnings in the observations of actual traffic data, which are not
easily and convincingly explained by the conventional traffic flow theories. Most conventional
approaches to studying the relationships between traffic flow characteristics use loop detector data.
The loop detectors are typically 6 by 6 ft inductive loops of electric wires. When a vehicle passes or
stops over such a detector, loop inductance decreases and that induces a higher oscillation frequency,
which then invokes a pulse indicating the presence of vehicle. The Inductive Loop Detectors (ILD) s
typically measure flow (the number of vehicles that pass it in some time period) and occupancy (the
percentage of time for which the ILD is occupied in that time period). But the data provided by such
ILDs are often fraught with errors. ILDs under count or over count under different freeway traffic
conditions. Also the accuracy and consistency of detector data depend strongly on their installation
and calibration procedures. A loop detector with percentage accuracy within 5% is considered a good
one.
This research aims to present a simple queuing analysis of freeway traffic that does not rely on vehicle

Differences Between Daoism And Confucianism
It is a well known fact that in order to survive, civilizations must change; they cannot remain stagnant
forever. These changes allow a society to grow and develop which is crucial as new breakthroughs can
lift up a civilization from a place of oppression and boundaries into a more equal and freeing place.
However, long held customs or behaviors may be persistent with the lifespan of a society. Typical
behavior can last centuries, but sometimes a small break will occur where a new change is tested out
only to be reverted back to the previous arrangement. During the time period 100 C.E. to 600 C.E
classical chinese civilization witnessed a change of spirituality that disrupted the traditional social
system. However, despite this, China upheld ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

position of power is given to one who has the desire to help his community, not to one who has wealth
and aristocratic titles. Despite going through many leaders and several dynasties, the political system
remained strong and intact with this practice of choosing officials. The mandate of heaven was strong

Chinese culture remained persistent as well, an ode to the structure of their political system. Because
their basis was so well thought out and organized, it didn t need to be altered or changed much with
each new ruler. While Chinese culture was open to some changes, it s political system hadn t the need
to be changed. An intricate system of testing potential government officials, the civil service exam
proved to be unique to chinese culture; a testament to the organization that went into their political
system and future political candidates. The few changes made to the political structure is proof enough

Fair Trade promotes socially and environmentally sustainable techniques and long term relationships

The world coffee industry is in crisis. A flood of cheap, lower quality coffee beans have pushed world

Many coffee farmers around the world receive market payments that are lower than the costs of

Democratization Of The Market Case Study
In the past, private individuals and large institutions have largely invested in actively managed mutual
funds, such as Fidelity, in which fund managers choose stocks with one goal to surpass the market.
But after the financial crisis of 2008, investors switched to index funds, which reproduce stock
indices, such as the S P 500.
The scale of the changes is striking: from 2007 to 2016. in actively managed funds an outflow of
about $ 1.2 trillion was recorded, while index funds received more than $ 1.4 trillion.
In the first quarter of 2017, index funds raised more than $ 200 billion and this is the highest quarterly

The power of passive investors
With corporate property comes the power of the shareholder.
Recently, BlackRock claimed that it had not legally been the owner of the shares on its balance sheet,
but rather acts as a kind of custodian for its investors.
This is common practice for lawyers.
What can not be denied is that the Big Three still uses the right to vote with these shares. Therefore,
they should be perceived by the owners of de facto corporate leaders.
These companies have publicly stated that they are seeking to exert influence. William McNabb,
chairman and chief executive officer of Vanguard, said in 2015 that in the past, some mistakenly
believed that our predominantly passive management style implies a passive attitude toward corporate
governance, but that s very far from the truth.
And if you analyze the vote of the Big Three, it turns out that it is coordinated through centralized
departments of corporate governance. This requires considerable effort, because technically

Descriptive Essay About Gymnastics
A big building that you could see from the highway in my hometown, filled with the smell of chalk

was where I learned to do my first cartwheel and it was also the place where I spent most of my days

pursue other sports this was my first sport and it played a part in shaping me into the person that I am
today. Even from a young age I could see that gymnastics was going to be a sport that consumed a lot
of my life.
I was pretty young when I began gymnastics, the age of three to be exact and I ended when I was
about nine. Even though I didn t participate in gymnastics for that long and advance to much in my
own skill level, I watched people ahead of me and on the olympic stage. I was able to see how
gymnastics is an art form, and how much talent it takes to advance. Gymnastics requires a lot of talent
and determination because it takes time, patience, and perfection to learn new skills. A skill is a new
flip on the mats or a trick on the bars or beam. I think this is what is amazing about the sport of
gymnastics, it is not something that can be perfected overnight but it must be practiced and practiced

The Media s Impact On Public Opinion
The media has always had a powerful impact on public opinion in Britain. With several different types
and means of communication, such as TV, newspapers, social networking and radio, it is difficult for
the public to not be even slightly impacted by the opinion of thousands that surrounds them every day.
However, with newspapers spinning stories to promote the party they favour (such as the Daily Mail
in favour of Conservatives or the Mirror in favour of Labour ) or to disparage the opposition, is it clear
there is any obvious influence from the media towards the public in relation to reporting on British
Politics?
Since January 2001, the total circulation of the UK s ten major national newspapers has declined . It
could be said that the press choose to slander politicians to gain attention from the public to push
sales, rather than inform the public on the real political issues at hand. For example, women s
magazines discuss political issues such as abortion and the tampon tax , rather than commercial
newspapers that publish stories such as scrutinizing politician Jeremy Corbyn for his subtle head nod
at the remembrance Sunday cenotaph. In a declining market for their product, newspaper titles battle
against each other for audiences and advertising revenue in their respective market segments, while
the press as a whole is engaged in competition with other media sectors, such as the news via the
internet, which makes it easier for the public to instantly engage with

Evolutionary History of Gray Wolves
Evolutionary History of Gray Wolves
The gray wolf is one of the world s most well known and well researched animals with more
documentation on them than any other wildlife species. It is a canid whose main habitats are in the
wilderness of remote areas in North America, Eurasia and North Africa. It is the largest member of the
wolf family, usually weighing between 70 and 120 lbs, and closely resembles in general appearance
and proportions to a modern day breed of dog known as the German Sheppard, although they typically
have a larger head, narrower chest, longer legs, straighter tails and bigger paws. The narrow chest of
the gray wolf allows for swift and efficient movement through the common elements of their
environment such as snow, brush and other conditions. Their larger heads indicate their higher level of
intelligence and their large paws, webbed with fur aid in movement across mud and snow. The colour
of a gray wolf s fur lives up to its name and is predominantly a mottled gray although the gray wolf
can also have fur that is nearly pure white, mixes of red, brown, or black. Being very social animals,
gray wolves do mostly everything in packs of 2 15 animals; living, traveling and hunting. They can
hunt and feed off smaller game, yet with their large pack size, they can work collectively to bring
down large game such as deer, moose or bison. There are 37 recognized subspecies of the gray wolf in
total ranging across six continents with familiar names that one

Analysis Of Hiroshima Exit By Joy Kogawa
Born in Vancouver, Canada, in 1935, Joy Kogawa is a Nisei second generation Japanese Canadian and
a celebrated poet. During World War 2, many Japanese Canadians, including Kogawa, were evacuated
and forced into the internment camps. Hiroshima Exit , one of Kogawa s poem , accentuates the
devastation of the atomic bombing during the war. A Japanese Descendent visits the Atomic Bomb
Memorial Building where she witnesses the horror and destruction from the Hiroshima bombing. It is
clear that the war inflicted great destruction, and much damage was attributed to past actions. Kogawa
uses personification, conflicts, and symbolism to show that instead of clinging onto the harsh past, one
needs to have hope in order to create better prospect in the future. Firstly, Kogawa uses personification
to show the dreadful mood that takes place. When the American tourists are blaming the Japanese, the
words jingle down (Kogawa1). The meaning of this personification is to examine the confusion of
what is happening, which means that the innocent civilians do not know what is happening or what
they have done wrong. Also, when the narrator says ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kogawa s use of repetition emphasizes the important concept of ending a conflict before it further
escalates. In the first stanza, the speaker says: In round round rooms of our wanderings (1). The
repetition of the word round is associated with cyclical motion, which creates a sense of endlessness.
This is similar to the feeling of those in conflict, who feel like they fight a war with no end; only
constant retaliation. However, once leaving the building, the speaker reiterates Believing, believing
(27) which changes these feelings to hope. This implies the speaker s realization of the possibility of a
future unlike the past filled with peace. The only escape from this endless cycle of retaliation is the
ability to accept, forgive, and move

Symbolism of Death Used in Because I Could Not Stop for...
In the poems Because I Could Not Stop for Death , by Emily Dickinson and Home Burial , by Robert
Frost, literary elements are used throughout both poems to get the message the authors are trying to
portray. One main important literary element that is used to entice the reader, is symbolism, because it
helps the authors describe something without actual describing it. Symbolism is also used because it
shows how significant an object is. Characterization is also an important literary technique because it,
gives the reader an idea on how the character would act, work, and their values in life. Death is a topic
that is used in both poems. Also, every character express their opinion about death differently.

We paused before a House that seemed/ A Swelling of the Ground / The Roof was scarcely visible /
The Cornice in the Ground. This quote expresses my theme because the speaker and Death reach their
final destination and the speaker symbolizes the grave as her home because this is where she will be
laid to rest for eternity.
The second poem is Home Burial , by Robert Frost. The poem is about a couple, Amy and her
husband, losing their son causing Amy to go through emotional turmoil. Amy is trying to avoid the
situation by trying to leave, but her husband is trying to pull her back, so he can figure out what s
wrong with her and as the poem continues the drama increases. The topic of the poem is sadness,
which ties into the theme of Amy and her husband s relationship is on the rock. The theme in this
poem is that everyone goes through sadness, but bottling it up doesn t help the situation. This is due to
the death of their son and as the story continues the husband is trying to understand, why Amy is
acting the way she is but she receives the message as rude and offensive. Most of the tension is

Anti Federalists Vs. Federal Republicans Essay
In modern America, many citizens hold to the notion that the Constitution was adopted unanimously,
without debate or disagreement. Not only is this not the case, the debate and disagreement that took
place during the institution of the governing articles for the newly formed country are ultimately
responsible for the system we have in place today as the concerns and counterpoints raised in the
discussion were more crucial to the successful continuance of stability in the nation than any
unanimous decision. Given the apparent import of such discussion, it is therefore prudent to examine
the original points of contention to determine their merit and to further ensure that the concerns
originally raised have been addressed sufficiently.
These discussions and debates often took place between two specific groups, the Federalists, and their
opponents who they termed the Anti Federalists. However, these so called Anti Federalists would have
referred to themselves as Democratic Republicans or Federal Republicans, so they will be referenced
in this vein. On the side of the Federalists were men such as James Madison, Alexander Hamilton,
George Washington, Gouverneur Morris, and other proponents of a centralized Federal government.
The opposition to these ideals was led by men like Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry,
Richard Henry Lee, and other state governors, farmers, and craftsmen concerned about the powers
being allocated to the proposed central government. These

Introduction. Background Of Scotland’S Union With The Uk.
Introduction Background of Scotland s Union with The UK The debate on Scottish independence has
been going on for centuries, and has continued long after Scotland joined the United Kingdom in
1707. Suspicion and mistrust between England and Scotland initially prevented a union throughout the
17th century (Johnson, 2014). The Scots had feared that they would become irrelevant within the UK,
whereas the English felt that the Scots may take sides with France and rekindle the Auld Alliance

Fiscal Stance Currently, England has been using Scottish oil reserves for its own benefit . As an
energy rich country with 24 billion barrels of oil to be extracted from the North Sea (Calder, 2013),
Scotland has the potential to boost economic growth with a second oil boom of between £6.9bn 7.9bn
for the first year of separation (Johnson, 2016). Oil and Gas Reserves in the North Sea could help
Scotland gain it its economic independence (The Guardian, 2015) as the anticipation of higher oil
prices is expected to provide a lucrative source of tax revenues (Keating, 2017). However, the falling
revenues disclosed by the North Sea coincide with the sinking oil prices (Keating, 2017) at the start of
2015, portraying the volatility of such commodities, as tax revenues from North Sea oil and gas
production tend to be unstable over time. Therefore, an economy based largely on oil would be too
subject to oil s price fluctuation (The Guardian, 2015), leaving Scotland in a more vulnerable position
than it already is in. Considering that Scotland s fiscal stance is based on an uncertain commodity
market and an ambiguous hope of joining the EU, Sturgeon s belief that a shortfall would be
compensated through additional economic growth is questionable. Potential Benefits of Independence

Along the way, in order to help Jason, Medea kill her own brother, Apsyrtus.
Before going home, they had to pass the Scylla and the Charybdis.
When they had passed by Crete, they encountered the last man left by the bronze race who was ready
to kill them.
Luckily, Medea had asked Hades s help which he was gladly to do.
Once Jason and Medea arrived by home, they were met with news that Pelias had forced Jason s father
to kill himself and that his mother died of grief.
To avenge him, Medea convinces Pelias daughters that she is able to make Pelias young again only if
they kill him, chop him up, and put the pieces boiling water.
They slice him to bits, but Medea leaves the city, taking Pelias sliced up bits with her after bringing
Jason s father back to life.
Later on, Medea and Jason went to Corinth and had two children.
Despite that, Jason leaves to marry the daughter of the king of Corinth, only out of ambition. Fearing

An Open Letter For Friends And Family
An open letter to friends and family:
A Brief Intro/Background
This letter will no doubt be hard for many of you to read, I empathize as it was also hard to write. I
beg your patience and hope you read through to the end. What I would like to convey to you is my
recent shift in world view. That is to say that I recently came to realize that I am an atheist.
This is likely shocking to most of you. Let me be clear by what I intend to convey by identifying as
such. I do not mean to say I am opposed to religion, or claim there is no God. I still identify very much
with LDS culture and attend church regularly. Rather, I identify as an atheist as a way to convey that I
seem to have lost Faith that there is a God. Over the last year I have studied and ponder in depth to
discover as best I could truth. Before I get there I want to be clear as to the perspective in which I am
coming from.
I was raised in a very active and loving family of the LDS Church. My family is still very active, my
father and my mother have served in leadership roles. They are both full of faith and charity and am
grateful for their love and support throughout my life. I, myself have served in leadership roles in the
church both as a young man and as a missionary for the church. I served a 2 year mission in west
Texas spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ as I understood it. I was married in an LDS temple to my
wonderful wife. My in laws are also very devout members of the LDS church.

Bowling For Columbine Sociological Analysis
In the movie Bowling for Columbine, directed by Michael Moore, you see Moore talking to many
people on why the Columbine shooting happened. He looks for clues on what could have caused this
and how easily it may have been avoided. Macro sociology is looking at a society as a whole. Some
macro sociological issues that could of contributed to the shooting is media and America s need to
have a gun. Media plays a big role by having commercial after commercial about have amazing guns
are. While they may help in a time of need, they should not be allowed in the hands of just anyone.
They should be checked to make sure they are in the right mind of having one. The news talks a lot of
someone getting shot or injured because guns. These kids could ... Show more content on

We see violence everywhere, if not the news then certainly on some type of app, like Facebook or
twitter. People sharing things everyday that is on violence, examples like guy kills wife over her
phone or Olympian killing his fiancee thinking she was a burglar. Things like this you see everywhere,
it s on Facebook, on posters in magazines and on the news. I believe school also have a big impact
because everyone goes, even if you don t finish you still know what it was like. The school had a
bowling class for kids who didn t like gym class, making them an outcast. The school is suppose to
help you get ready for the real world by interacting with lots of people, but Harris and Klebold only
really spoke to each other, making it hard for them to find other friends. If schools made kids do
activities where they interacted with each other more and not just let them ignore people and let them
fall through the cracks then maybe kids would see they aren t losers after all. Also if the media showed
more good things that happened in the world and not the wars and people dying then maybe we
wouldn t be so scared of what s out there. I do believe that stricter gun laws would help because if you
have to go get checked that you are mentally sound to have a gun. You could have a clean background
check but that doesn t mean you should own a

Film And Literature American Pop Culture
Modern Jewish identity is explored and represented through various portrayals in film and literature
American pop culture. A complicated facet of this identity is associated around Jewish masculinity and
where the Jewish man fits in contemporary society. Brought forth in Otto Weininger s Sex and
Character we come to understand that the Jewish man is perceived to be effeminate and lacking the
character traits most commonly associated with the true masculine identity that is most popular for the
portrayal of men in the media of today. Films such as The Producers, A Serious Man and Annie Hall
all represent characters that adhere to the traits of the Jewish man Weininger describes. The
filmmakers intentions of showing this characterization stems from an acknowledgement of validity
and what that means to be a Jewish man in modern American culture.
In order to fully understand what traits to look for in the characters, we must recognize where their
characterizations are coming from. Otto Weininger s Sex and Character is based entirely upon the
notion bisexuality, the idea that a person incorporates attributes associated with both sexes to make up
their character. He believed that bisexuality is a universal phenomenon among all people. He suggests
that men and women aren t completely different sexes, but rather that men and women exhibit various
levels of qualities that are associated with man or woman . He postulates that there is a spectrum of
sexualities that range from

Some people find it strange, but it gives her an insight into the word called life. Her parents always go
around pestering her to be more open and talk to people, but it is not like they make it simple for her.
It has gotten to the point that each question asked would fly through Ellie s ear, not even bothering to
understand them. How was your day today? Why can t you just talk to us like your brothers and
sister? You don t see your siblings hide their thoughts do you? Let someone in! Three siblings are too

Mother To Son
The Message From A Mother To Son In the poem, Mother To Son Langston Hughes uses the concept
of symbolism in order to display the arduous upbringing that he had encountered as an African
American in society. Specifically, Hughes uses the style of a mother telling her story of hardship to her
son, in order to add a personal reflection on his troubles in life. Hughes compares the ups and downs
of growing up, to that of a stair by first indicating that life, ain t been no crystal stair but had, tacks
splinters and torn up boards (1 5). The symbol of a crystal stair is a perfect life, which is completely
smooth with no obstacles or other interferences. Tacks, which are primarily physically painful when
touched, are a symbol of the emotional

Essay on The Effects that Culture Has on Others
The Effects that Culture Has on Others
Through my years of growing up I have moved a lot and never realized I was exposed to so much
culture until I reached my high school years at Linden. I find that in my adolescence years I was
brought to accept other people for their skin color, religion, and their different opinion on things.
Moving to Linden, I was the one of a few students who seemed to really know about different cultures
and was able to embrace them. I saw how I was different compared to the students and quickly
learned, its hard to see people not understand or embrace other cultures besides their own; when that
was the way I was raised.
I began my life at Linden High when I moved to Linden from Dearborn. Dearborn, ... Show more

This was a new way of life almost the All American White World with no differences or diversity. It s
strange to know so much more of the outside world having various multicultred friends, I almost felt
ahead in knowledge. Though, in fact I was a bit more of a minority here. I wasn t the only one though.
I became best friends with Amanda who was also a new student who just the same as me didn t
understand this new nondiverse world. We found that we had many things in common that weren t
common in Linden, but in the vast multicultural world around Detroit. I had her and she had me, and
we both thought how weird it was to be friends with people who looked and acted like us, but did not
understand of how much more we knew and they had no clue. Meaning in these terms how they know
of some sports, music, but didn t know of culture issues of Hispanics, Arabians, African American,
others and some had never even experienced gay people. Our surrounding of people looked the same,
but did not know concepts of accepting ideas of skin tone, language, or racial stereotypes.
The toughest thing to realize in Linden, is for how smart these people are, they have had no true grasp
on real outside world bases. Their knowledge seem to lesson because of how they acted towards other

Memory Of Trauma
Another limitation that can appear when examining the memory of trauma is that trauma victims do
not elicit the same response to trauma. Individuals who experience psychological trauma, physical
trauma or both all remember the abuse differently. Many trauma victims may have repressed those
memories or simply forget the explicit details about their traumatic experiences. Toth and Cicchetti
(1998) argue that victims will elicit different responses of they are diagnosed with post traumatic
stress disorder (PTSD) and experience trauma on a single or multiple occurrence. Multiple
experiences of trauma may give individuals a general memory of the abuse, however, it often
overlooks and forget about the unique features of their traumatic experience.

  • 2. The Member Of The Democratic National Committee Dear the respected members of the Democratic National Committee. As of November 8th, 2016, Donald Trump is the 45th president elect of the United States. As much as this is a defeat, or victory for a numerous amount of citizens across America ,that is not exactly what this is about. I m here to say shame on you. If it wasn t already apparent, your chosen establishment candidate, Hillary Clinton was one painted in scandal, dishonesty, secrecy, and unpopularity. I can t imagine why you, the democratic establishment, felt it would be wise to practically ignore the grassroot progressive movement occurring right in front of your eyes. It wasn t an anomaly, it was a symptom of something much larger. It was a sign that the people of America wanted something different, as they did in 2008 when they supported President Obama with the aspirations of Hope and Change . This selfish of choice of yours was a complete betrayal of the people who have supported you over the decades. It is more than evident that the DNC had a bit of favoritism in this election process, and that statement alone represents and highlights a significant amount of irresponsibility. Based on political normalities, winning the presidency after 8 years of that same party holding the office is not an easy task. Propelling a notably unpopular candidate with well known scandals on her resume was quite frankly an awful decision. it s apparent that the enthusiasm for Clinton wasn t there, and definitely did not ... • 3. Africa Shaped By Technology And Atmosphere Before The 1800s Africa Shaped by Technology and Atmosphere Before the 1800s Hieroglyphs can be considered one of the oldest forms of literature; Egyptians developed this technology at around 4,000 BC. Reasons for creating hieroglyphs are art, and communication (Mattessich). Parallel to that, farming was another type of technology that was being developed along the north of Africa and the river Nile, by the upcoming kingdom of Africa. Nubia (modern day Sudan) also gave rise to another kind of technology in term of agriculture, the cattle herding, their location made it easy to feed animals because it was tropical and had lots of vegetation. Hunter gathers were living since the beginnings of times, so this is not a new developed technology but it is significant to say that the rest of Africa was occupied by them (Britton). By 1,500 BC the Egyptian empire was the leading power over Mesopotamia, Syrian and Canaan. Around this time somewhere in north Africa, sub Saharan or the highlands of Ethiopia the domestication of sorghum and millet occurred, giving a boost in the agricultural aspect and helping societies being more settle (Zohary and Hopf), millet is thought to be brought from east Asia through land, since it was it has been cultivated there since 8,000 BC years (Lu, Zhang and Liu). This is a crucial event because sorghum and millet are harder to farm that wheat and barley. Comparative Analysis of Economic and Political Cleavages in South Africa and Zimbabwe Introduction Comparative politics is concerned with examining the characteristics or qualities of two different political entities to discover resemblances or differences. But, whether general or specific in nature, comparative politics tries to determine what caused the governments to form in the way that they did. Land Reform Historically, land reform programs in South Africa and Zimbabwe has been similar in some respects. It is necessary to briefly review the history of each country in respect to this cleavage to better understand current discontinuities and to note the clear differences in contemporary land reform that are being implemented in the two countries. Both South Africa and Zimbabwe were British colonies. All the land in these colonies was owned by white Europeans and farmed by poor black Africans. In 1980, Rhodesia broke from the bondage of white rule and elected its first black president, Robert Mugabe, who came with promises of restoration of the land to native Africans, and of better health care and educational opportunities. The now independent Rhodesia was renamed Zimbabwe in 1980. But during the 1980 s, drought and white emigration badly damaged the economy, which already strained by the need for massive government spending in the long neglected areas of black education, health, and social services. The cleavages over land distribution, which continue today, present an ongoing challenge to the government and an obstacle to agricultural development and will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Black Like Me By John Howard Griffin In the book Black Like Me by John Howard Griffin the reader can experience life on the other side of the color line through his words. John Howard Griffin was an author, more specifically was a journalist and a specialist on race issues. His desire was to know if Southern whites were racist against the Negro population of the Deep South, or if they really judged people based on the individual s personality as they said. Because of this he felt that they had encouraged him to cross the color line and write Black Like Me. He became another person so he could tell the story of being a black man in the 1950s south. After his experience Griffin became a leading advocate in the Civil Rights Movement. He did a lot to promote awareness of the racial situations. John Griffin, in the beginning of the story is a white man from a nice neighborhood with a wife and two kids. He is medium height but very large around the middle. However, Griffin wanted to experience firsthand the obstacles and hardships of being black in America so that he may understand what life is like for blacks. Griffin underwent a series of medical treatments to change his skin color temporarily to black. He went to his dermatologist for help. He took pills to darken his skin tone; he used a sun lamp to darken it more. The transformation was complete when Griffin shaved off his hair, looked in the mirror, and saw a bald, middle aged black man. After he changed his skin tone he was ready to see how ... He also dealt with tension in the home as a result of animosity between himself and his mother. Catholics have a particular definition of what euthanasia is, why its is against our human rights, and why it should be stopped. The catholic definition of euthanasia is that it is a grave violation of G d s law, since it it is the deliberate and morally unacceptable killing of a human person (Evangelium Vitae). Euthanasia is the killing of one s self before G d does, and therefore morally wrong. By killing one s self, we do not allow room for G d in our lives and reject His plan for His creation. It also is the act of predicting the future (which no one can do), and not allowing G d to permit miracles and intervene into one s life. It also violates the virtue of hope because it denies that G d is never ending with his love of every human person. No one except G d can make the final decision about when our lives should end. We do not have the right to dictate when and where we should die. A right is a moral claim, and only G d posses that power over us; We are stewards, not owners, of the life God has entrusted us. The APR is a non specific and complex systemic reaction, part of the early defense or innate immune system, which is triggered by different stimuli such as infections, trauma and inflammations in order to reconstitute homeostasis and induce healing (Cray et al., 2009; Tothova et al., 2014). As well as in humans, APP in animals are sensitive to similar triggering events in response to inflammatory stimuli. A variety of APP have been recorded, such as: fibrinogen, haptoglobin (HP), serum amyloid A (SAA); C reactive protein (CRP); ceruloplasmin (CER), major acute phase protein (MAP) and α1 acid glycoprotein (AGP) (Stahl, 1987; Gruys et al., 2005); differentiating their levels according to each species (Cray et al., 2009; Eckersall and Bell, 2010). Forrest Gump is the portrayal of a man that has been alienated from society, not because he is unintelligent or dimwitted, but rather because he is not restricted by the conventional ideals, which are embedded, within his culture; thus, Forrest challenges the conformities and principals that most people are accustomed to. The contrast that Robert Zemeckis, director of the film, is attempting to convey through the character of Forrest Gump is how most people are too smart for there own good; and thus, try to escape the realities and actualities of life. While other characters in the story are suppressed by society s conflicts, Forrest remains blinded to all; hence, he is able to live in the moment, rather than evading what is real. Forrest s unique selflessness and compelled nature to do what is right, as opposed to what is easy, are what our society incorrectly labels stupidity or ignorance. Zemeckis is obviously pointing out that an individual has no control over his or her own destiny and in order to live a noble life, must accept life as it is. I think it is very appropriate that Zemeckis begins his movie with the scene in which he does. Starting with Forrest s worn out and dirty shoes with a camera shot of a feather floating on the breeze foregrounds the entire movie. Hinduism originated first when around 1500 B.C the Indian civilization was overtaken by an invasion of pastoral nomads from around the Caspian Sea, north of Persia. These nomads continued to invade the region over several hundred years, conquering and settling among the native people. As a result of the clashes between these two cultures Hinduism emerged as a result of the fusion of the beliefs that the native people of India and the new arrivals had. Hindu priests created a caste system to deal with the problems caused by racial tensions between the new arrivals and the native Indians. The caste system divided the population into groups in which highest caste were the Hindu priests, who were followed by the warriors, the farmers and merchants, the servants and laborers, and ultimately the lowest caste were the war captives and slaves. • 19. The Nature of Traffic Flow on Freeways INTRODUCTION A modified approach to explaining the nature of traffic flow on freeways is described in this research. It has its beginnings in the observations of actual traffic data, which are not easily and convincingly explained by the conventional traffic flow theories. Most conventional approaches to studying the relationships between traffic flow characteristics use loop detector data. The loop detectors are typically 6 by 6 ft inductive loops of electric wires. When a vehicle passes or stops over such a detector, loop inductance decreases and that induces a higher oscillation frequency, which then invokes a pulse indicating the presence of vehicle. The Inductive Loop Detectors (ILD) s typically measure flow (the number of vehicles that pass it in some time period) and occupancy (the percentage of time for which the ILD is occupied in that time period). But the data provided by such ILDs are often fraught with errors. ILDs under count or over count under different freeway traffic conditions. Also the accuracy and consistency of detector data depend strongly on their installation and calibration procedures. A loop detector with percentage accuracy within 5% is considered a good one. This research aims to present a simple queuing analysis of freeway traffic that does not rely on vehicle occupancy data or effective vehicle lengths. Recently, BlackRock claimed that it had not legally been the owner of the shares on its balance sheet, but rather acts as a kind of custodian for its investors. This is common practice for lawyers. What can not be denied is that the Big Three still uses the right to vote with these shares. Therefore, they should be perceived by the owners of de facto corporate leaders. These companies have publicly stated that they are seeking to exert influence. To most people it was just a building that they would drive by on their way to school or work, but to me it was called class act and it was where my love for gymnastics started. This building was where I learned to do my first cartwheel and it was also the place where I spent most of my days and weeks when I was younger. I loved this place, and even though I ended up stopping gymnastics to pursue other sports this was my first sport and it played a part in shaping me into the person that I am today. Even from a young age I could see that gymnastics was going to be a sport that consumed a lot of my life. I was pretty young when I began gymnastics, the age of three to be exact and I ended when I was about nine. Even though I didn t participate in gymnastics for that long and advance to much in my own skill level, I watched people ahead of me and on the olympic stage. I was able to see how gymnastics is an art form, and how much talent it takes to advance. Gymnastics requires a lot of talent and determination because it takes time, patience, and perfection to learn new skills. A skill is a new flip on the mats or a trick on the bars or beam. I think this is what is amazing about the sport of gymnastics, it is not something that can be perfected overnight but it must be practiced and practiced to achieve perfection. • 27. The Media s Impact On Public Opinion The media has always had a powerful impact on public opinion in Britain. With several different types and means of communication, such as TV, newspapers, social networking and radio, it is difficult for the public to not be even slightly impacted by the opinion of thousands that surrounds them every day. However, with newspapers spinning stories to promote the party they favour (such as the Daily Mail in favour of Conservatives or the Mirror in favour of Labour ) or to disparage the opposition, is it clear there is any obvious influence from the media towards the public in relation to reporting on British Politics? Since January 2001, the total circulation of the UK s ten major national newspapers has declined . It could be said that the press choose to slander politicians to gain attention from the public to push sales, rather than inform the public on the real political issues at hand. For example, women s magazines discuss political issues such as abortion and the tampon tax , rather than commercial newspapers that publish stories such as scrutinizing politician Jeremy Corbyn for his subtle head nod at the remembrance Sunday cenotaph. In a declining market for their product, newspaper titles battle against each other for audiences and advertising revenue in their respective market segments, while the press as a whole is engaged in competition with other media sectors, such as the news via the internet, which makes it easier for the public to instantly engage with ... • 31. Evolutionary History of Gray Wolves Evolutionary History of Gray Wolves The gray wolf is one of the world s most well known and well researched animals with more documentation on them than any other wildlife species. It is a canid whose main habitats are in the wilderness of remote areas in North America, Eurasia and North Africa. It is the largest member of the wolf family, usually weighing between 70 and 120 lbs, and closely resembles in general appearance and proportions to a modern day breed of dog known as the German Sheppard, although they typically have a larger head, narrower chest, longer legs, straighter tails and bigger paws. The narrow chest of the gray wolf allows for swift and efficient movement through the common elements of their environment such as snow, brush and other conditions. Their larger heads indicate their higher level of intelligence and their large paws, webbed with fur aid in movement across mud and snow. The colour of a gray wolf s fur lives up to its name and is predominantly a mottled gray although the gray wolf can also have fur that is nearly pure white, mixes of red, brown, or black. Being very social animals, gray wolves do mostly everything in packs of 2 15 animals; living, traveling and hunting. They can hunt and feed off smaller game, yet with their large pack size, they can work collectively to bring down large game such as deer, moose or bison. • 32. Analysis Of Hiroshima Exit By Joy Kogawa Born in Vancouver, Canada, in 1935, Joy Kogawa is a Nisei second generation Japanese Canadian and a celebrated poet. During World War 2, many Japanese Canadians, including Kogawa, were evacuated and forced into the internment camps. Hiroshima Exit , one of Kogawa s poem , accentuates the devastation of the atomic bombing during the war. A Japanese Descendent visits the Atomic Bomb Memorial Building where she witnesses the horror and destruction from the Hiroshima bombing. It is clear that the war inflicted great destruction, and much damage was attributed to past actions. Kogawa uses personification, conflicts, and symbolism to show that instead of clinging onto the harsh past, one needs to have hope in order to create better prospect in the future. Firstly, Kogawa uses personification to show the dreadful mood that takes place. When the American tourists are blaming the Japanese, the words jingle down (Kogawa1). The meaning of this personification is to examine the confusion of what is happening, which means that the innocent civilians do not know what is happening or what they have done wrong. Also, when the narrator says ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kogawa s use of repetition emphasizes the important concept of ending a conflict before it further escalates. This is similar to the feeling of those in conflict, who feel like they fight a war with no end; only constant retaliation. However, once leaving the building, the speaker reiterates Believing, believing (27) which changes these feelings to hope. This implies the speaker s realization of the possibility of a future unlike the past filled with peace. The only escape from this endless cycle of retaliation is the ability to accept, forgive, and move ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the poems Because I Could Not Stop for Death , by Emily Dickinson and Home Burial , by Robert Frost, literary elements are used throughout both poems to get the message the authors are trying to portray. One main important literary element that is used to entice the reader, is symbolism, because it helps the authors describe something without actual describing it. Symbolism is also used because it shows how significant an object is. Characterization is also an important literary technique because it, gives the reader an idea on how the character would act, work, and their values in life. This quote expresses my theme because the speaker and Death reach their final destination and the speaker symbolizes the grave as her home because this is where she will be laid to rest for eternity. • 34. Anti Federalists Vs. Federal Republicans Essay In modern America, many citizens hold to the notion that the Constitution was adopted unanimously, without debate or disagreement. Not only is this not the case, the debate and disagreement that took place during the institution of the governing articles for the newly formed country are ultimately responsible for the system we have in place today as the concerns and counterpoints raised in the discussion were more crucial to the successful continuance of stability in the nation than any unanimous decision. Given the apparent import of such discussion, it is therefore prudent to examine the original points of contention to determine their merit and to further ensure that the concerns originally raised have been addressed sufficiently. These discussions and debates often took place between two specific groups, the Federalists, and their opponents who they termed the Anti Federalists. However, these so called Anti Federalists would have referred to themselves as Democratic Republicans or Federal Republicans, so they will be referenced in this vein. On the side of the Federalists were men such as James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, Gouverneur Morris, and other proponents of a centralized Federal government. The opposition to these ideals was led by men like Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, Richard Henry Lee, and other state governors, farmers, and craftsmen concerned about the powers being allocated to the proposed central government. As an energy rich country with 24 billion barrels of oil to be extracted from the North Sea (Calder, 2013), Scotland has the potential to boost economic growth with a second oil boom of between £6.9bn 7.9bn for the first year of separation (Johnson, 2016). Oil and Gas Reserves in the North Sea could help Scotland gain it its economic independence (The Guardian, 2015) as the anticipation of higher oil prices is expected to provide a lucrative source of tax revenues (Keating, 2017). However, the falling revenues disclosed by the North Sea coincide with the sinking oil prices (Keating, 2017) at the start of 2015, portraying the volatility of such commodities, as tax revenues from North Sea oil and gas production tend to be unstable over time. Therefore, an economy based largely on oil would be too subject to oil s price fluctuation (The Guardian, 2015), leaving Scotland in a more vulnerable position than it already is in.
