The Problem with Presidential Primaries
The Problem with Presidential Primaries
Ever since the election season of 1972, presidential primaries have become the dominant means of
selecting the two major party candidates. i[i] The primary system is one in which the eligible voters of
each state do one of the following: 1) Vote for a presidential candidate to run for their party in the
general election. 2) Vote for a delegate pledged to vote for a certain candidate at the party s national
convention. As intended, this process would bring the candidate selection processes out into the open
and let the people vote for the candidate of their choice. ii[ii] On the surface, this may look very
democratic (and admittedly, in some instances it was/is), but upon closer ... Show more content on

Standing in his way was the fact that only one of the early primary states had a true open primary
Michigan. Both New Hampshire and South Carolina were considered modified open primaries iii[iii]
that tended to discourage Independent voting. In addition, Delaware and Arizona were closed
primaries that would not allow Independents or Democrats to vote. However, despite the closed
primary, McCain s home state of Arizona was essentially a lock.
Due to heavy campaigning, McCain was able to win New Hampshire by a 48% to 30% iv[iv] margin.
George W. Bush emphatically won the closed Delaware primary by a 51% to 25% v[v] margin. Bush
then went on to win in South Carolina s modified open primary by a 53% to 42% vi[vi] margin, thus
robbing McCain s hopes of gaining momentum. Despite this, McCain did get back on the winning
track with wins in Michigan s open primary and in Arizona s closed primary.
Victories aside, McCain was still going against the mainstream Republicans who were backing Bush.
The structure of the primaries early in the season allowed McCain to make a name for himself, but the
fact that closed primaries worked and would continue to work against him made winning the
nomination extremely difficult.

Similarities And Differences In Colonial Life Today
Colonial times was a period that was very different from the way of life now. Just because it is so
different now does not mean they do not have similarities. There are lots of similarities between now
and then but doesnt mean theres not differences. Our ways now are just modified ways of before,
making them better so people aren t destroying our world. The past two years i ve been told history
repeats itself I find that very true. Now because there are so many things I could talk about i m gonna
narrow it down to the similarities and differences of our government in colonial times and now.
Colonial government and our government today were similar because in colonial times they had Privy
Council who were advisors who set policies, allowed colonies

Citizen Vs Declaration Of Independence
The Declaration of Independence is of major importance to the history of the United States, and the
same is true for the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen regarding the history of France.
Both documents were the start or major change within each of the countries. The Declaration of
Independence stated the colonies were no longer under Great Britain rule, but instead they were now
their own free country. In France the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen was written to
limit the power and authority of the crown and government. Although the documents express different
concerns there are still distinct similarities between the two. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and
the Citizen limits the power of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both documents state citizens have the right to liberty and that men are created equal. In the
Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen says Men are born free and remain equal in rights
(Using APA, 1789, Article 1., The Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen) and in the
Declaration of Independence it states All men are created equal .(Using APA, 1776, paragraph two.,
The Declaration of Independence) The Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen says citizens
have In defeasible rights (Using APA, 1789, Article 2., The Declaration of the Rights of Man and the
Citizen) and the Declaration of Independence states citizens have unalienable rights .(Using APA,
1776, paragraph two., The Declaration of Independence) This means that both of the documents say
that citizens have rights that can not be taken away. Each document was written because there was a
problem with what was going on within each country. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and the
Citizen was written so that the crown was no longer above the laws, and the Declaration of
Independence was written because the king of Great Britain had abused his powers and making the
colonists suffer. Each country wrote the documents because they had a problem with their
government. The Declaration of

The History of Alcatraz
Life on Alcatraz Prison was not as bad as the people described it to be. For the prisoners Living on
Alcatraz was similar to life on other American penitentiaries of the era. It wasn t the brutal hellhole
many movies made it look like it was.
Each prisoner swept his cell clean, dressed, and then stood ready for head count. Then all marches to
the mess hall for break feast before moving on to work out in the docks in the laundry area, or out in
any of the other buildings in the island.
The food on Alcatraz was better than other prison foods in America. The prisoners wore also given the
advantage of having their on cell. Having their own cell gave the prisoners safety and gave them
personal space. It also helped keep the prisoners safe from being raped by other bigger inmates. They
wore also given the privilege of one visit per month. It wasn t much but it was better than nothing.
They got one haircut per month, and took showers twice a week. They wore also given recreational
hours out in the courtyard.
Many dangerous men wore inside of Alcatraz. Al Capone was a famous inmate of Alcatraz. Al Capone
was a master at manipulating his environment at the federal prison in Atlanta, and tats what got him
into Alcatraz. He started to pimp his prostitutes before he even hit puberty. He was born and raised in
the harsh streets of Brooklyn. Despite being a powerful gangster, he opened up soup kitchens and feed
the poor.

Negative Analysis Of Television Commercials
People can relate to their favorite television shows, but can they also connect with the commercials
that inevitably interrupt their programs? Nowadays, most people would answer no by skipping these
advertisements through digital video recorders or on demand and streaming services. However,
commercials continue to generate an abundance of revenue for advertising agencies. The most popular
television ads target specific audiences, and cable is the most appropriate platform. Advertising
agencies strategically place commercials on cable networks that target groups that many viewers may
consider underrepresented on television. Prominent examples include commercials on Nickelodeon
that target children, ads on TV One that attract African Americans, and plugs on COZI TV that draw
older adult viewers. Cable television is an ideal platform for personalized advertisements that target
specific groups of viewers. Every cable network has almost always been personalized; for instance,
certain channels target sports fanatics (i.e. ESPN, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Network, etc.), while
others attract music lovers (i.e. MTV, VH1, etc.). Broadcast networks live up to their name in that
their audiences are extremely wide and consist of all kinds of races, genders, and socioeconomic
statuses. Northern Arizona University communications professor Norman J. Medoff and University of
Tennessee Knoxville journalism professor Barbara Kaye elaborate on the influence of the diversity of
cable networks

Freshman Year Transcripts
Transcripts Throughout my four years of high school, my GPAs have been pretty good. Spring
semester of freshman year was by far the best because I managed to end the year with a 4.0. However,
my classes started to get a little more challenging to me and after that semester, my GPAs started to go
down. I would have to say that my worst year was junior year. I ended the year off with four B s and
only three A s. I would definitely have to say that I let my classes get the best of me that year. Now
that it s my senior year, I now know to never let stress interfere with my grades because it is not worth
it. I hope I can achieve my goal of ending the year with a 4.0.

Overall, my attendance has been good. I have only missed school if

A Report On Toyota s Production System
Abstract
Toyota today is one of the leading lean example in today s manufacturing market. Starting back in the
1930 s with the idea of Just in Time to cut down cost in waste from overstocked storage rooms to a
better efficient assembly lines who produced what was needed at a certain time. The Kanban system is
one of the most used methods that the Japanese found during the 1950 s during a trip to United States
in a super market.
Kanban Systems
Lean manufacturing originated long before Toyota and Ford, however the thought that it originated
with Toyota is flattering since they are the ones who perfected it. By creating the Toyota Production
System (TPS), Toyota found a better way to produce large quantities of product efficiently with
eliminating the waste factor and while cutting down cost. Taiichi Ohno a former Toyota vice president
promoted the idea of JIT (Just in Time) which means producing the necessary units in the necessary
quantities at the necessary time. (Monden) Which leads to Toyota s ultimate goal in the TPS is to
improve productivity for better return in investment. To have continuous flow in a production system
Toyota sought out to achieve the concept of JIT and autonomation . Since the TPS is what creates the
parts who monitors the JIT system? The kanban system which is an informational system that controls
quantities being produce in each process. As the discussion carries on throughout this paper about
Toyota and their use of the kanban system the topic

Synopsis Of The King Of The Flies
It s another one of Aber Hael s main attractions. People come from all over for our wares, but
especially the seafood. I tell you, these people can fry, pickle, and salt anything.
Carlton removed Audra s arm from this elbow and took her hand instead, threading his fingers
between hers. It ll be easier for us to move along this way.
The king pointed out his knights skirting the edge of the crowds. As you can see, I make sure lots of
knights are available on market day to help keep the peace. It s usually calm, but in the warmer
weather when people have too much to drink, things can get rowdy. That s where our men come in.
Audra and Carlton walked from stall to stall and examined the wares without much fanfare. Audra
particularly liked the small charms and sun catchers offered at one stall. She admired a sun catcher of
a beautifully detailed red dragon flying above the clouds over a rushing river, Hael River, she
assumed.
A robust, white haired woman, the stall s merchant, approached. That s one of my favorites. Isn t that
beautiful?
Yes, I love it. Do you make these? Audra turned the sun catcher that hung from a hook so it would
better reflect the light.
I m proud to say the work s all mine. Can I interest you In that instant, Carlton turned around and the
old woman clearly recognized him right away and could not speak. She curtseyed low immediately.

The First World War as a Turning Point in Britain s...
The First World War as a Turning Point in Britain s Relations with India The First World War was a
definite turning point in Britain s relations with India. The worldwide conflict between 1914 and 1918
was widely regarded as a disaster for European civilisation, ten million men were killed and twice as
many were wounded, it changed the political social and economic issues behind British politics in a
way not seen since. To show that it was a turning point in Britain s relation with India Britain s
relations with India before the war must first be explained. British occupation of India had seen the

When War broke out in 1914 the British were still in command of India but their future there no
longer looked as certain as it had once done. The Haladane reforms of 1907 stated that the colonial
armed forces were to be mobilised in times of war to fight alongside those of Britain. This meant that
during the War India supplied over one and a half million men for service. This expense placed a
heavy burden on the Indian taxpayer and pushed the budget into deficit. Although this united the
Indian people into a nationalist movement it put them at a disadvantage to achieve this being a debtor
of Britain. Britain in 1914 was the home of business as usual believing in the policies of free trade,
free currency and free enterprise. Asquith s Government was strongly opposed to interference in the
free play of the market, this decision was strongly supported by the business community and meant
that the frequent government interventions in the financial field were regarded as short term
emergency measures. This policy continued until March of 1915 when a coalition Government was
brought into office under Asquith after the Shell Crisis of Neuve Chapelle, One of the coalitions first
acts was to create the Ministry of Munitions. The advantage that the all party coalition gave was that it
could pass measures that

Comparing Sonny s Blues And The Rich Brother By Tobias...
As we examined the essay Sonny s Blues and The Rich Brother that may not have a great deal in

their own uniqueness. The stories are The rich brother which was written by Tobias Wolff is known
for short stories or memoir and Sonny s Blues which was written by James Baldwin also an American
writer best known for its eloquence or rhetorical force in his writing. Both writers a best known for

As you can see from both stories it about overcoming boundaries, accepting people for who they are,
and understanding each relationship in order to co exist.
The story is identical of each because both narrators have troubling accepting their brother lifestyle.
For example, the narrator from The Rich Brother he wants to make a point that Pete is the responsible
one and successful while Donald is the drifter with little control of his life but for most part it sibling
rivalry. And, in Sonny s Blues when narrator picks up his brother Sonny from prison while he willing
to help his brother Sonny but they still unable to understand each other lifestyle. As the both stories
continue to develop, in The Rich Brother the narrator made a point that while Pete is successful and
might not understand his brother Donald but he will still be there for him because they require each
other like sibling rivalry you cannot have one without the other. In Sonny s Blues the situation is the
same where the narrator still unsure what to verbally express to Sonny and instead he just listens when
require to voice his opinion.
At the end of both stories both narrators made a point of wanting to overcome their boundaries and
accepting their bothers lifestyle. For Sonny s Blues the narrator of coping through the music and the
needs of trying to get out of his environment. Music is what ends up being the light in the

Georgia O Keeffe s Art Analysis
Georgia O Keeffe is considered the mother of American Modernism, known for her New Mexico
landscapes, New York buildings, and abstract flowers portrayed with precise line and form. She was
the first American artist to paint in unadulterated abstraction, painting flowers with exquisitely
portrayed details, making them looks as if they had been magnified.
One of these paintings is the Red Canna, which she painted in 1924. O Keeffe s flowers look like they
were viewed through a camera s macro lens. The focus of O Keeffe s flower paintings were simplified
lines, shape, and color. The focal point is the small petals in center of the flower, which almost look

The Role Of Robots In The Military
During the last few decades, technology has advanced. The modern technology has the capacity to
build robots that are now being used in the military. This website discusses the diverse uses and
advantages robots have in the military force, especially in combat. Everyday soldiers go on suicidal
missions in different parts of the world. These robots have a sense of comfort to these soldiers to
prevent an injury and even death. Certain uses of these robots include performing dangerous tasks
humans cannot be exposed to, using different type of weapons that are 100 percent effective, and
having robots that include cameras to detect enemy troops. Along with these maneuvers, many
advantages for the military occur, such as programming the robot to perform a task they asked for,
completing missions without humans actually been there, and destroying enemies without hurting
soldiers. All of the purposes that robots serve within the military frontier contribute to the big picture
of how the functions of robots help us as a society. Everyday, society observes that humans now
depend on technology in one way or another. This allows the use of robots to be implemented in the
medical field, allowing them to perform surgeries, in the military by letting robots complete missions
without the presence of humans, and to increase the production and profit in big industries. In this
article, their main concern is to prevent humans from drying on the suicidal missions they go to.

Welders Essay
Welders are a large part of the construction industry. Welders build frames for large buildings and
things like bridges. Welders build support frames for many things. They put together car frames and
piece together pipes for gas lines and oil field work. Welders could be called pipefitters, boilermakers,
and ironworkers. Welders must have 500 hours a labor put in before a holiday to get a paid holiday.
Paid holidays include Memorial Day, labor day, 4th of July, thanksgiving, Christmas day, and new

can weld outside or in places that have a draft easier than with a mig welder. Stick welding is usually
used to weld iron and steel but nickel and aluminum can also be welded this way. Tig welding,

For selling the printers in Europe, HP had to add the right power supply for the intended country and
also the instruction manual in the correct language. Since testing with power supply was a part of FAT,
this customization was also done at the FAT plant unlike its computer division which delayed this
process to the Distribution Centres (DC). The inventory was carried at the Distribution Centres and
not at the factory.
Demand
In the Europe DC, it was becoming common to have product shortages for model demands from some
countries while inventory of some other model kept piling up. The target inventory levels at DC were
set by a rule of thumb and were proving ineffective. The primary reason for this seemed to be the
magnitude of variation in demand.

Inventory Model for Existing Supply Chain
Since the variation in demand is high, a fixed order quantity model would have been suitable for
modelling the inventory management process at the European DC of HP. We could have arrived at a
suitable reordering point looking into the lead time and demand variation in that lead time. However,
ordering cost is not available and is hard to estimate given the facts in the case and hence we reject
this model.
We propose to use the Fixed Time Period Model with Safety Stock for this

Wu wanted to break into the circle of senior managers at ETech. He was an early recruit of ETech s
founding partners and had been at the firm since its establishment. He had the credentials and he knew
the technology better than anyone, but he felt like he was hitting the glass ceiling and would be

months since he had mentioned his desires to his boss but had not heard anything. Wu was the only

The Cost Of Having A Baby
The Cost of Having a Baby Tiffany Jones November 16, 2014 HCM 615 Health Care Finance Dr.
Donald S. Brady There are many things in life are great gifts, and being a parent is one. Getting the
news that you are expecting a child is a speechless moment. It is a very joyful occasion and everyone
is happy about what to expect over the next nine months. Baby names start flowing and in every
magazine you are looking at outfits and furniture and things of that nature. But has anyone stop to
think about what is cost to have this baby? What medical expenses that will be incurred during this
forty weeks process. The answer is no. No one probably really cares but the hospital and the insurance
company. Now it s time to take a look at some of the cost behind the blessing of labor and delivery.
The amount that a mother will incur to have her bundle of joy will depend on many different factors.
One may take into consideration where you live, whether there are any complications and whether
mommy has a vaginal birth or a C section. But just to take a glimpse inside this world, here are a few
figures that may surprise you. For prenatal care and delivery, the cost in some areas can range from
about $9,000 to over $250,000 (Alfieri, 2012), which is quite a wide range, if not more. This is
without the privilege of having insurance to cover. Even with the privilege of having health insurance,
the majority of these expenses could be covered, but that s not always the case. It

Price Competition In T-Mobile, AT T, Sprint, And Verizon
The industry I ve selected is the cellular phone service industry. This industry s market structure is an
oligopoly, meaning that a few large firms control the market. Four main firms, T Mobile, AT T, Sprint,
and Verizon dominate the cell phone service industry. Although the four firms compete against one
another, they typically avoid price competition in order to avoid price wars that decrease profits for
all. Instead, they use other tactics, such as advertising and improved customer service to gain a higher
demand in the market. Price wars occur due to the interdependence of firms involved in an
oligopolistic market structure. A decision made by one firm to increase or decrease prices will lead to
a fluctuation of the demand curve for the

The Planets And The Celestial Bodies Of Astrology
The Planets (Grammar Check)
Ascertaining the defining characteristics associated with the celestial bodies of astrology will establish
the novice in the fundamentals of astrology, and enhance the comprehension of adept astrologers.
After all, as planets orbit established positions, the axis of astrology encompasses the idiosyncrasies of
the planets. Additionally, a familiarization of Greek and Roman deities benefits the comprehension of
the various planetary personalities.
The Inner Planets
The moon and the five planets closest to the Sun are relatively quick, moving through an astrological
sign in less than a year. Thus, the combination of their positions and their effects vary significantly
among individuals.
The Sun
The elegant brilliance of the Sun generates life, establishes purpose, and provides direction. Notably,
this majestic orb impressively blazes as the kingpin of the solar system bestowing ego, pride, passion,
arrogance, and strength. Along with these attributes, the Sun controls a person s desire for growth and
expansion. Ultimately, the Sun determines the scaffolding of an individual s personality and destiny.
The Moon
The synchronicity of the moon is phenomenal: instinctively maintaining its composure while
continually rotating during orbit. Habitually, the moon reveals its passively tranquil countenance to the
Earth while simultaneously concealing a secretive side. Comparatively, the nature of this motion
illustrates the way the moon affects an

Job Performance As A Software Developer Myself
As a software developer myself, I found the story of SAS interesting, even more so now that I have
recently been placed in a management position at work. While looking at the factors that have the
strongest influence over work behaviours and looking at how I could apply those factors to my team, I
found the following with regards to SAS: Job Performance Job performance refers to how
successfully and employee meets the specifications set out in the job description 1 . Factors within the
category of job performance that have an influence on job performance are General mental abilities ,
organizational justice and interpersonal relations , stress , positive work attitudes , and personality . 1
In order to delve into these factors more deeply within the management framework and strategies that
SAS used, I explored their website and found an array of content outlining the kind of work they do,
the kind of environment they create for their employees, and many other details designed to attract
candidates with strong general mental abilities , and encourage them that they will be in an
environment with reduced stress. The following excerpt is taken from their careers page: If you have
to spend an average of 54% of your waking hours at work, why not do something meaningful and that
you can be proud of? SAS is making a difference in people s lives all around us. Our analytics

Contemporary Rhetorical Analysis Of The Telos
Contemporary Rhetorical Theory Fall 2015 Rui Zhang Submission Date: 2015/12/02 *All the works
below for the exam are done independently. No cooperation or discussion with anybody else. 1.
Williamson is an example of genus deliberativum. Deliberative genre is used in forum or speech to
persuade the audience to do something or believe in something in future. Williamson s speech is a
typical deliberative genre. He makes the speech on a public forum to persuade voters to agree the
marriage bill amendment, and his telos is to take advantage of this to persuade more people support
his policy. The content is an uncertain decision about future. He provides several reasons to support
his idea so his activity is basically exhortation and persuasion. 2. The telos in Williamson is the
advantages that he gets more voters supporting his policy after his speech. The telos in SAIH is about
the honorable. SAIH clip is a genus demonstrativum. It makes a sarcastic retort to reflect the present
situation that some western people who called themselves volunteer are not really helping Africa.
Thus the clip is to blame this situation. 3. He violates Commandment 4 the relevance rule that
standpoints may not be defended by non argumentation or argumentation that is not relevant to the
standpoint. In his speech, he argues the fire burning eternity sentence on a letter he received. However,
this is not relevant to the marriage bill. There no relevance to his argumentation that support the

Definition Essay Re-Defining The Unknown
Re Defining the Unknown
My original definition: Comprehending monstrosity is only possible when you begin to re think the
idea of villainous creatures. The physicality leads to a better understanding of what makes something
visibly monstrous. Whereas within behavioral qualities, it is acknowledged that, the missing range of
emotion helps to separate them from humanity. Lastly, cultural significance defines what we recognize
as monstrous because it is defined differently through cultures. Defining the unknown is a concept that
originally seemed impossible to wrap my mind around, but analyzing the gray area that is a monstrous
being has shed light on a subject that was once in the darkest part of my imagination.
In regard to my previous definition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There will always be that little spark of empathy, an event that will make the viewer feel sorry for the
tragedy that is the monster. However, on the other hand as humans we all have monstrous tendencies.
My new definition embodies the definition of boundary dwelling because in my opinion there is a
very thin line between human and monster. Sometimes monsters are treated as an entirely different
species, but if we are discussing the true nature of monsters, we are actually discussing a corrupted
human. Cohen emphasizes that monsters are disturbing hybrids whose externally incoherent bodies
resist attempts to include them in any systematic structuration. (Monster Culture: Seven Theses 14).
Cohen is trying to explain that monsters are conflicting in the aspect that they embody both human
and animalistic qualities. They are detached from reality, yet we can see parts of ourselves within
them. When Cohan states that they resist systematic structuration, I think he means that monsters can
not function in society. Monsters are represented differently throughout different cultures, but there is
one quality that each monster has: Rage. You define something as monstrous based off of a scale of
how much negative emotion is accompanied by the presence of the subject itself. Definitions begin to
differ when we ask ourselves not what we define as monstrous, but who we define as

U.s. Foreign Policy During The Cold War Essay
The overview of The U.S. Foreign Policy
The objective of the U.S. foreign policy course is to develop personal ability for applying IR theories
to the U.S. foreign policy. Then, students will be able to understand the direction as well as the
grounds of the U.S. foreign policy. To achieve this objective, I will discuss major the theoretical issues
through the brief history of the U.S. foreign policy until the Cold War. After that, I will examine the
challenges which the U.S. confronts.
One of the theoretical issues in the U.S. foreign policy is the concept of isolationism and
internationalism(or interventionism). To comprehend this concept, we need to figure out the history of
the U.S. foreign policy briefly to find consistency in the flow of the policies. The Monroe Doctrine,
which is famous for the declaration against European Imperialism (Monroe, 1823), was actually not
the first argument of isolationism. As a matter of fact, isolationism began from George Washington s
Farewell Address. (Washington, 1796) Meanwhile, President Woodrow Wilson tried to change the
America s isolationism and to realize his liberalism via his Fourteen Points and the League of the
Nations. (Wilson, 1918) However, his effort failed with the opposition of the parliament and the
interest of World War I s victorious countries.
In 1940s, the U.S. participated and took a significant role in the World War II, and could not hold
isolationism due to the threat of communism and Soviet in Europe.

Amazon has made a business of selling a variety media types while also making the reselling of the

than to resell it and have money to put towards the next interest. As of 2004 Amazon began running
the Linux operating system across the board. Amazon then became one of the largest and well known

Amazon s Founder and Chiefy Executive Office outlines the companies business objectives as:
Increase Sales, promote the brand, create a loyal customer base and fiscal strength. By expanding each
operational goal its gives a better understand on how the operating systems contribute to Amazon s
objective. Sales can be defined as making sure the customer gets what he wants, but also feeding in to
the psychology of impulse buying. Impulse purchases can be promoted through an application
Amazon employs, called the Dash. When conducting a search for a particular item the results of that
search offer not only the item itself, but also similar items. There is also a feature that shows the
customer what other customers, who have order this particular item of interest, have also purchased.

Should Doctors Be Tried in Consumer Courts
The Indian Supreme Court has ruled that doctors can be sued for medical negligence in consumer
courts set up under India s consumer protection act of 1986. The landmark judgment, delivered last
week, caps the nine year old controversy over whether doctors providing medical services to patients
on payment of fees can be held liable under this act.
Responding to appeals by doctors against earlier judgments by state high courts, the Supreme Court
ruled that patients aggrieved by deficiencies in medical services rendered for payment can claim
damages
Should doctors be tried in consumer courts?

Instead we expect them to serve the masses, with minimal(or sometimes even nil) infrastructure, no
incentives and when compared to their better offs in IT and MANAGEMENT sectors, only a handful
are able to give competition. But before blaming anyone else, Is it not the moral and ethical
responsibility of a doctor to serve selflessly his fellow beings? Is this not the first thing taught in
medical colleges?!! May be I am keeping my foot on one more debatable topic.!!!!

Now let me stir the pot a bit more. People die, as sure as they are born, they will die. Its a fact of life
and one had better learn to accept it. People do not die ONLY because of doctors mistakes. If my
memory does not fail me, the lady, whose death caused the JJ Hospital incident, was 75 years old. No
details about what she was suffering from, on how long she was ailing, or the condition she was
brought to the hospital in.Despite lacking these vital dfetails, you are ready to accept that the death
was due to negligence. That is being unfair.Years ago, when I was still a houseman, we had a patient
brought in with a myocardial infarction. The man had suffered a couple of infarctions over the years
and his family was well aware that the next one could be fatal.Despite our best efforts he died. The
family accepted this and were taking the body away, when the youngest son arrived. This guy had

Realism And Constructivism In World War 1
The two major theoretical approaches in international relations that help explain the major causes of
World War 1 are Constructivism and Realism. The prominent reasons for the beginning of World War
1 were, the numerous mutual defense alliances in place at the time, imperialism, and the assassination
of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The assassination of Ferdinand set off a chain of events that would
ultimately plunge the world into one of the deadliest wars of all time. When a Serbian nationalist
assassinated Ferdinand, Austria Hungary used that as justification to declare war on Serbia. Realism is
defined as, power ought to be the primary end of political action, whether in the domestic or
international arena (Moseley, Alexander). While Austria Hungary ... Show more content on

Millions were killed on both sides and it truly put into perspective how devastating wars can be.
Liberalism was the last theoretical approach but was left out of this paper because it didn t explain the
key causes of the war. Liberalism contains the same ideas of realism except that it believes that it is
possible to avoid war through international institutions, economic interdependence, and democracy.
Within World War 1 this theory didn t explain the causes that ultimately resulted in the War. Realism
and Constructivism both helped to explain the major causes brought up in this paper. Realism and
Constructivism are two very different ideas, The striking difference between realism and
constructivism lies in the approach to ideas the latter demands that we take seriously the role of ideas
in world politics, while the former completely disregards it. However, we already saw that realism has
much historical evidence in its favor, so is it even possible to defend social constructivism? Not only it
is possible, but constructivism even offers a much more accurate account for war (Lisinski, Ksawery).
As is evidenced by this quote, these two theories are drastically different but to explain this complex
war, we need both of them to accurately portray the causes. While imperialism, the assassination of
Ferdinand and the mutual defense alliances weren t the only causes of the war; they were the major
ones, which could be explained using the main international relations

The Problem with Presidential Primaries The Problem with Presidential Primaries Ever since the election season of 1972, presidential primaries have become the dominant means of selecting the two major party candidates. i[i] The primary system is one in which the eligible voters of each state do one of the following: 1) Vote for a presidential candidate to run for their party in the general election. 2) Vote for a delegate pledged to vote for a certain candidate at the party s national convention. As intended, this process would bring the candidate selection processes out into the open and let the people vote for the candidate of their choice. ii[ii] On the surface, this may look very democratic (and admittedly, in some instances it was/is), but upon closer ... Both New Hampshire and South Carolina were considered modified open primaries iii[iii] that tended to discourage Independent voting. In addition, Delaware and Arizona were closed primaries that would not allow Independents or Democrats to vote. However, despite the closed primary, McCain s home state of Arizona was essentially a lock. Due to heavy campaigning, McCain was able to win New Hampshire by a 48% to 30% iv[iv] margin. George W. Bush emphatically won the closed Delaware primary by a 51% to 25% v[v] margin. Bush then went on to win in South Carolina s modified open primary by a 53% to 42% vi[vi] margin, thus robbing McCain s hopes of gaining momentum. Despite this, McCain did get back on the winning track with wins in Michigan s open primary and in Arizona s closed primary. Victories aside, McCain was still going against the mainstream Republicans who were backing Bush. The structure of the primaries early in the season allowed McCain to make a name for himself, but the fact that closed primaries worked and would continue to work against him made winning the nomination extremely difficult. • 6. Negative Analysis Of Television Commercials People can relate to their favorite television shows, but can they also connect with the commercials that inevitably interrupt their programs? Nowadays, most people would answer no by skipping these advertisements through digital video recorders or on demand and streaming services. However, commercials continue to generate an abundance of revenue for advertising agencies. The most popular television ads target specific audiences, and cable is the most appropriate platform. Advertising agencies strategically place commercials on cable networks that target groups that many viewers may consider underrepresented on television. Prominent examples include commercials on Nickelodeon that target children, ads on TV One that attract African Americans, and plugs on COZI TV that draw older adult viewers. Cable television is an ideal platform for personalized advertisements that target specific groups of viewers. Every cable network has almost always been personalized; for instance, certain channels target sports fanatics (i.e. ESPN, Golf Channel, NBC Sports Network, etc.), while others attract music lovers (i.e. MTV, VH1, etc.). Broadcast networks live up to their name in that their audiences are extremely wide and consist of all kinds of races, genders, and socioeconomic statuses. • 25. Price Competition In T-Mobile, AT T, Sprint, And Verizon The industry I ve selected is the cellular phone service industry. This industry s market structure is an oligopoly, meaning that a few large firms control the market. Four main firms, T Mobile, AT T, Sprint, and Verizon dominate the cell phone service industry. Although the four firms compete against one another, they typically avoid price competition in order to avoid price wars that decrease profits for all. Instead, they use other tactics, such as advertising and improved customer service to gain a higher demand in the market. Price wars occur due to the interdependence of firms involved in an oligopolistic market structure. A decision made by one firm to increase or decrease prices will lead to a fluctuation of the demand curve for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After all, as planets orbit established positions, the axis of astrology encompasses the idiosyncrasies of the planets. Additionally, a familiarization of Greek and Roman deities benefits the comprehension of the various planetary personalities. • 30. Definition Essay Re-Defining The Unknown Re Defining the Unknown My original definition: Comprehending monstrosity is only possible when you begin to re think the idea of villainous creatures. The physicality leads to a better understanding of what makes something visibly monstrous. Whereas within behavioral qualities, it is acknowledged that, the missing range of emotion helps to separate them from humanity. Lastly, cultural significance defines what we recognize as monstrous because it is defined differently through cultures. Defining the unknown is a concept that originally seemed impossible to wrap my mind around, but analyzing the gray area that is a monstrous being has shed light on a subject that was once in the darkest part of my imagination. In regard to my previous definition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There will always be that little spark of empathy, an event that will make the viewer feel sorry for the tragedy that is the monster. However, on the other hand as humans we all have monstrous tendencies. My new definition embodies the definition of boundary dwelling because in my opinion there is a very thin line between human and monster. Sometimes monsters are treated as an entirely different species, but if we are discussing the true nature of monsters, we are actually discussing a corrupted human. Cohen emphasizes that monsters are disturbing hybrids whose externally incoherent bodies resist attempts to include them in any systematic structuration. (Monster Culture: Seven Theses 14). Cohen is trying to explain that monsters are conflicting in the aspect that they embody both human and animalistic qualities. They are detached from reality, yet we can see parts of ourselves within them. When Cohan states that they resist systematic structuration, I think he means that monsters can not function in society. Monsters are represented differently throughout different cultures, but there is one quality that each monster has: Rage. You define something as monstrous based off of a scale of how much negative emotion is accompanied by the presence of the subject itself. Definitions begin to differ when we ask ourselves not what we define as monstrous, but who we define as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. U.s. Foreign Policy During The Cold War Essay The overview of The U.S. Foreign Policy The objective of the U.S. foreign policy course is to develop personal ability for applying IR theories to the U.S. foreign policy. Then, students will be able to understand the direction as well as the grounds of the U.S. foreign policy. To achieve this objective, I will discuss major the theoretical issues through the brief history of the U.S. foreign policy until the Cold War. After that, I will examine the challenges which the U.S. confronts. One of the theoretical issues in the U.S. foreign policy is the concept of isolationism and internationalism(or interventionism). To comprehend this concept, we need to figure out the history of the U.S. foreign policy briefly to find consistency in the flow of the policies. The Monroe Doctrine, which is famous for the declaration against European Imperialism (Monroe, 1823), was actually not the first argument of isolationism. As a matter of fact, isolationism began from George Washington s Farewell Address. (Washington, 1796) Meanwhile, President Woodrow Wilson tried to change the America s isolationism and to realize his liberalism via his Fourteen Points and the League of the Nations. (Wilson, 1918) However, his effort failed with the opposition of the parliament and the interest of World War I s victorious countries. In 1940s, the U.S. participated and took a significant role in the World War II, and could not hold isolationism due to the threat of communism and Soviet in Europe. ... Should Doctors Be Tried in Consumer Courts The Indian Supreme Court has ruled that doctors can be sued for medical negligence in consumer courts set up under India s consumer protection act of 1986. Responding to appeals by doctors against earlier judgments by state high courts, the Supreme Court ruled that patients aggrieved by deficiencies in medical services rendered for payment can claim damages Should doctors be tried in consumer courts? • 34. Realism And Constructivism In World War 1 The two major theoretical approaches in international relations that help explain the major causes of World War 1 are Constructivism and Realism. The prominent reasons for the beginning of World War 1 were, the numerous mutual defense alliances in place at the time, imperialism, and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The assassination of Ferdinand set off a chain of events that would ultimately plunge the world into one of the deadliest wars of all time. When a Serbian nationalist assassinated Ferdinand, Austria Hungary used that as justification to declare war on Serbia. Realism is defined as, power ought to be the primary end of political action, whether in the domestic or international arena (Moseley, Alexander). While Austria Hungary ... Liberalism was the last theoretical approach but was left out of this paper because it didn t explain the key causes of the war. Liberalism contains the same ideas of realism except that it believes that it is possible to avoid war through international institutions, economic interdependence, and democracy. Within World War 1 this theory didn t explain the causes that ultimately resulted in the War. Realism and Constructivism both helped to explain the major causes brought up in this paper. Realism and Constructivism are two very different ideas, The striking difference between realism and constructivism lies in the approach to ideas the latter demands that we take seriously the role of ideas in world politics, while the former completely disregards it. However, we already saw that realism has much historical evidence in its favor, so is it even possible to defend social constructivism? Not only it is possible, but constructivism even offers a much more accurate account for war (Lisinski, Ksawery). As is evidenced by this quote, these two theories are drastically different but to explain this complex war, we need both of them to accurately portray the causes. While imperialism, the assassination of Ferdinand and the mutual defense alliances weren t the only causes of the war; they were the major ones, which could be explained using the main international relations ...
