A Wiki Formulation of Collaboration StrategyStewart Mader
Lex Slaghuis, Presenter
Observations and experiences on wiki concepts within a large local Dutch government agency are discussed. An analysis of current collaboration processes is presented with five recurring collaborative patterns. These patterns were identified by clustering the collaborative 'issues' of employees. The patterns are of interest as they seem to influence each other as well as they provide quick and easy overview of the organizational collaborative processes. Some of these patterns also appear to relate to typical wiki capabilities, such as RSS-feeds and link indexing.
The document discusses user interfaces that encourage better information management. It presents the thesis that while computers are good at information knowledge management (IKM), people are better at IKM when given the right tools. The document discusses examples of tools like capturing more digital data, collaborating on lecture notes, and structured data authoring. It also discusses findings from a study on "information scraps" or information people capture outside of computers. One finding was that using computers is distracting. The document then describes the List.it tool developed to address issues found in the study by enabling fast, simple note capture in a browser.

Online citation tools allow researchers to store and manage citations online rather than using paper or local files. Previously, finding information involved slow searches across multiple databases and printing or writing citations by hand [1]. New tools like CiteULike, Zotero, and Mendeley allow storing citations in the cloud, sharing with others, and importing references into documents [2]. By scraping citation data from websites, these tools make literature searching more efficient and collaborative [3].
The study tested whether taking notes by hand versus on a laptop affected student learning from lectures. Students listened to TED talks and took notes either by hand or on disconnected laptops. They then completed factual and conceptual questions immediately after and 30 minutes later. The researchers found that students who took notes by hand performed better on conceptual questions 30 minutes later compared to students who took notes on laptops. The researchers concluded that laptop note taking resulted in more superficial processing since students tended to verbatim transcribe lectures rather than process information in their own words.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-und-domino-lizenzkostenreduzierung-in-der-welt-von-dlau/
2. How
did
this

1. I
thought
about
the
fact
that
I
hear
people,

women,
tell
their

daily.
2. How
could
I
make
an
impact
on
them

others
as
we
shared
our

challenges,
and
rewards?
3. What

• 2.
The
quesCons
could

• 3.
The
quesCons
need
to
be
open-‐ended
meaning
the

whatever
they
chose
to

without

of

the

There

this

The
