Essay about Mt. St. Helen
Mount St. Helen is a very active volcano classified as a stratovolcano, stratovolcano is basically
a tall volcano built up of layer after layer of hard lava, tephra, pumice, and volcanic ash. Mount
St. Helens location is in Skamania County in Washington, with coordinates of 46 12 00.17 N122

It goes on to explain some of the Europeans to first record the sighting of the mountain which
happened May nineteenth seventeen ninety two during the surveying of the northern Pacific
Ocean. It was named by Vancouver for a British diplomat, 1st Baron St. Helens, on October
twentieth seventeen ninety two, but before this local Indians had already named it louwala clough
or smoky mountain. In eighteen twenty nine Hall J. Kelley led a campaign and planned to
rename this mountain and all others after one of the United States president, he had tried to
rename Mt. St. Helen to Mount Washington. As horrible as the explosion in May og nineteen
eighty claimed lives the paper says if the explosion had waited just one day later on Monday rather
Sunday when all the people were at work such as loggers they believe the death poll would have
been much more higher. A second eruption was noted to had occurred on may twenty fifth, noone

Fear In The Tell Tale Heart
Fear is both beneficial and dangerous. Fear offers restraints and withholds irrational acts. It hones
alertness and survival instincts, such as adrenaline. If one is stuck in an unknown dark alley, fear is
the instinct that compels them to run or take action. Fear also causes confessions. Fear of
punishment, for example, would make a naughty child confess. However, fearcan also induce
paranoia. Instead of running, the person becomes paralyzed. Even though fear dispels unreasonable
behavior, it also can cloud rational thoughtif that fear becomes a wild obsession. If someone is
always focused on one thing because of fear, they lose sight of reality and their obsession could
have harmful consequences. The Tell Tale Heart, the Pit and the

In the Tell Tale Heart, the narrator is haunted by the beating heart of the old man he had just
murdered. The heart beating is compared to the sound that a watch makes when enveloped in
cotton (77, TTH). During and after the murder, the narrator hears the old man s heart in his ears,
and it drives him mad. The heart becomes an unhealthy and unnatural obsession as it gets louder
and louder and louder. It induces guilt for killing the old man. When the heart beating becoming
almost deafening, he explodes and has an intense confession in front of the police. The of the
heart made him lose his common sense and fear of the old man haunting him forever ultimately
compelled him to confess to the crime. In the Masque of the Red Death, Prince Prospero and his
followers also have an unnatural obsession. Poe writes, And now was acknowledged the
presence of the Red Death. He had come like a thief in the night (61, MOTRD). The prince and
all those who were locked up with him had an unnatural obsession with the Red Death. So severe
is this obsession, that in the end, they see it appear at the ball. They heavily personify the Red
Death, so much that it becomes real. When it kills Prince Prospero, everyone at the ball all rush to
kill it, but they realize that it was just their imagination. Despite this, they are all too late and

The Right to Own Property Essay
The Right to Own Property The United States of America was built on the ideals set forth by our
founding fathers in the Constitution of the United States of America. Such ideals are held to the
highest standards in our community to this day; like our right to the freedom of speech, our right to
bear arms, and the right to own property. Each of these rights are firmly stated in the Constitution,
along with many other rights that citizens of the Untied States have. The ideals of our founding
fathers were so profound that many other nations modeled their democracy after the Constitution
put forth by the Americans. It is basic human rightsthat people should have the freedom of speech,
religion, and press and the right to own property. And we... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The standing practice was that currency would remain in the hands of the military administration
while valuables had to be transferred to the
Reich Central Bank in Berlin. In return for these valuables, the central bank transferred cash to
the local administration equivalent to the value of the items it had received (Arad 22). While
the practices of this are inequitable, in the eyes of their Nazi dictatorship, it was considered fair.
They would take the property of another human being and sell it so they could help their war
effort to kill more people that were against the Nazi government. In no way is taking the
valuables of these innocent victims just, and it is salt in the wound to sell their valuables to aid
in their death. While the Nazi situation is confiscation to the extreme, the principles of the
practice are around today. To some, hearing the word IRS might as well be hearing Nazi. The
IRS is responsible for taxes, and the confiscation of property if taxes are not paid or taken care of.
Back in the days of the founding fathers, the IRS was clearly not around, yet the confiscation of
property, for reasons other then taxes, was happening. In the times of the Civil War, when the north

how they did nothing to help the government. The Confiscation Acts were merely was to try and

Analysis Of The Poem Adrienne Rich
Women had little resources to escape an unhappy or abusive marriage during the nineteen fifties.
Most just learned to deal with it behind their closed doors in silence. During this time the divorce
rate, according to an article published in 1973 by the National Center for Health Statistics , was at
twenty five percent. (Plateris). Most women did not have the luxury of getting one due to the fact
that most husbands of that time had control of the household finances, not to mention that it was a
costly venture. Some marriages struggled with spousal abuse as well; be it emotional or physical
yet domestic violence at this time was something that people really did not talk about, nor were
there the resources for victims that we have today. In this haunting poem, Adrienne Rich uses
symbolism to paint a picture of a scared, and lonely woman as she creates this tapestry of Tigers
being hunted, in a colorful landscape, while she is pondering her relationship between her and her
spouse.
The author starts the poem in a quiet manner with the character Aunt Jennifer sitting peaceably
weaving a tapestry of majestic Tigers being hunted. With bright colors in the first stanza, Bright
topaz denizens of a world of green, (line 2) Topaz is a gem that has a wide color range that
includes brown, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, pink and purple but the definition of it states that
a true Topaz is colorless. Denizens means a place or places so the author s meaning is, in a sense

Profession Education Association Essay
What is the purpose of a profession education association? An association can be defined as a
synergistic group, meaning that the effect of a collection of people is greater than just one person
(Cherwin, 2010). Being part of a professional association can be very beneficial to a teacher s job.
Associations can help professionals network and/or meet other professionals in the same field.
Participants often find support from others and gain knowledge by learningabout new things, ideas,
etc. about their career. Many times journals, magazines, and newsletters are provided with
membership. Associations also offer career resources such as tips for effective resumes, providing
job leads, and assist with negotiations of contracts, etc.
As with any profession, there are many professional association in which teachers can join. Some of
them include the National Education Association (NEA), the American Federation of Teachers
(AFT), NEAFT Partnership, Phi Delta Kappa, ASCD, etc.

the story is rarely discussed alongside the power of the unions and the public is left with only one
part of the picture: that the union is solely at fault. (Goldstein,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Limited Partnership
MEANING OF A LIMITED PARTNERSHIP There are two types of partnerships one of them
being limited partnership. Limited partnership is a type of partnership in which at the minimum
one of the owners of a business is a limited partner and at least one of the other partners has
limited liability, that is, he/she is a limited partner. Unlike general partners who are involved in
every aspect of the business from making day to day business decisions to being personally
responsible for all the debts of the business, limited partners are just investors in the business
venture and therefore have very little to no influence at all on the everyday operations of the
business. Advantages of a Limited Partnership Some of the advantages of a limited partnership
include the following: Tax benefits limited partners get a share of the profits as well as the
losses of the business but an advantage to them is that they do not have the responsibility of
running the operations of the business on a day to day basis like the general partners. Personal
income of all the partners is taxed but a limited partner has lesser liability and responsibility
compared to a general partner. Liability limits the liability of a limited partner for a debt owed by
the partnership is only limited to the level of the partner s investment in the business. No turnover
issues a partnership will remain intact and in operation even if a limited partner decides to leave or
is replaced by another partner. There is

The History of the Belgian Congo
The History of the Belgian Congo The year is 1960, at first the Congo was a colony, but on June
30th, 1960 Prime Minister Patrice Lumumba gave independence to the Congo freeing its
citizens. Only to be kicked out of office just a few weeks after their independence. Six months
later Lumumba to be assassinated. When Lumumba came into office, it was a time where the
Anti colonial movement reached its peak. It is a staggering example of what the Western ruling
classes are capable of when their vital interests are threatened. Assassination then becomes a
useful measure, a possible solution. (Kanza XXV) Lumumba s assassination binds together that
a self proclaimed European mental hierarchy that created the basis of Africa. Frightened by
Lumumba not only as a well rounded man who loved his job and who he worked for and also
being a supporter of the Anti colonial movement. But as an African Male whose ego became the
best of him, he had the chance to gain the loyalty of many and be able to pin point the struggles
and goals in their everyday lives.
The Congo crisis is due to just one man, Patrice Lumumba (Hochschild 49)
He had the Ability to change everyone s lives because of the power he had. The chance to spread
and promote democracy among the people while also spreading equality among them as well.
Lumumba...advocated a complete decolonisation that would benefit the population as a whole. He

Dolly Parton Is So Much More Than What People See Her As
Dolly Parton is so much more than what people see her as. She is much more than a Barbie doll,
that is why I am going to inform the class about Dolly Parton s early life, her career, and about
information that most people do not know about her. Additionally, I want to make the class more
familiar with some of Dolly Partons most sensible words, which serve as valuable quotes to live
by. I want people to know how wonderful Dolly Parton is so that less people will possess negative
opinion about her. Dolly Parton proves that there is so much more to people than just their looks.
To begin, Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946 in Sevier County, Tennessee. She is the
fourth of twelve children of Robert and Avie. Furthermore, Dolly Parton described her family as
dirt poor, which is expressed in her song A Coat of Many Colors (Perone, James). From the start,
music was extremely important to Dolly Parton. She first started performing in Church with her
family. It has even been noted that she, ...loved performing since [she] was big enough to wrestle
[her] little brothers and sisters into sitting long enough for [her] to sing them [her] latest musical
masterpiece. Also, as a child she sang on the local radio and television program in Eastern
Tennessee. At the age of thirteen, she recorded her single Puppy Love and appeared at the Grand
Ole Opry. You know that someone is going to go far in life if they are that young and have already
accomplished what most wish they could.

chivalry means the ideals, virtues, or characteristics of knights, (Velde). There is one specific knight
who shows this code in the story, Sir Gawain and The Green Knight. The knight is Gawain, a noble

In the story, he and the Green Knight have a deal where Gawain can either cut the Green Knight
s head, or slice it completely off. Whichever he chooses, Gawain must find the Green Knight a
year later and the Green Knight gets to return the favor . Furthermore, the story explains, Gawain
grips his ax and gathers it aloft...brought it down deftly upon the bare neck...and cut the flesh
cleanly and clove it in twain...the head was hewn off and fell to the floor, (page 176, lines 192

for he is magical. Although he is still alive, Gawain has to use his strength to slice the Green
Knight s head off. This is just one more way Gawain shows chivalry, through strength.
The story also mentions the idea of chivalry by displaying honesty. Honesty, once again, is one of
the main factors in the knight s code. In the article, The Tenets of Chivalry The Knights Codeen,

Stopping Plant Junipers, Some Pines, And Evergreens
Avoiding to plant junipers, some pines, and evergreens is a good idea because the chemical
content in these plants is extremely flammable. New Mexico Association of Counties implies,
Deciduous trees and shrubs are the best for firewise plants. Many needled trees contain a highly
flammable chemical content. Sedums are among the good groundcover plants due to the fact that
they keep flames low to the ground and from spreading because of the high water content. Planting
things in shaded areas around the yard is also helpful because dead plant material collects

Barkley et al claim that from past vegetation, charcoal, layers in the soil, fire scars on trees, the aged

of years.
In order to save lives and property from wildfire, people need to become educated on how to adapt
to living in areas with a high risk of wildfires. Being able to adapt to living the way many prefer
means taking responsibility for what is in order to defend the forest and natural lands.
Overwhelmingly, idahofirewise.org reports that most grass, brush, and forest fires are started by
people. Between 87 and 96 percent of wildfires are human ignited, and only about 20 percent are
intentional. Most human caused fires are accidental or related to careless disposals of hot embers,
ash, or cigarettes. This is a shocking statistic about how carelessness is a major contributing factor
and can be blamed for many of the fires that occur each year throughout the country. This is why
knowledge of firewise is so important because it can help to prevent many of these fires due to
carelessness.
It is a strange thought that America s population is only going to expand, and more and more
people are building houses or cabins in the forest to escape the compacted communities of cities. So

Essay on Complexity Theory
The words complexity and complex have been used in the context of management. While the word
complex suggests dynamics rising from the interaction between elements, factors, parts, it results in
nonlinear and ongoing changes in the parts. The word complexity is used different ways in many
organization systems. The different uses of this word is dependent on the systems being chartered
and organized. Nowadays, complexitytheory is at the center of what systems are today and it is
attached with the concept that a system is more than a set of machines. Regarding complexity
theory, Margarita Mayoral (2012) stated that Complexity theory enables the identification,
characterization, and comparison of the structure and dynamics of many... Show more content on

Complexity theory tries to rationalize the behavior of complex systems by attempting to discover
how the separated factors of a system cooperate together to shape the system and its outcomes.
Characteristics of Complexity theory
Complexity theory also has some basic characteristics: Complexity theory is characterized by a
number of similar elements but they are separated. These elements interact information together by
receiving from their neighbors.
While elements keep interacting together, one agent s actions will affect to another agents so based
on these action, they divide into two kinds of feedback which are negative and positive feedback
which are the unique feature that differ the complex system from a complicated system. Due to
these characteristics, small changes in one area can make a large changes in the whole systems: It
is not always easy to determine and identify the boundaries of a complex system. The boundary
often comes from the observer s needs. But sometimes, we can base on the property of the systems
to find the boundaries of a complex system. History is an important characteristic in complex
systems. It is easy to recognize that all the actions, reactions, and behaviors in the past can influence
the current s behavior. Besides, the complex system also has some other

The Senate Should Be Abolished Of The Senate
The Senate plays a key role in tandem with the House of Commons, in the operation of Canada s
government, some people think that the Senate should be abolished; however without the Senate,
The right to bear arms could become true for Canada. The Senate should be reformed; abolishing
or keeping the Senate at its current state would be unjust. The current Senate is not elected,
effective, nor equal. If the Senate is kept at its current state, it will continue to operate fine,
however the Senate can be much more effective at what it does if it gets amended. Currently the
Senate is not elected, equal, nor efficient. People who comprise the Senate are selected by the
governor general on the advice of the Prime Minister, so those selected most likely will act in good
intention towards the Prime Minister. The Senate, unlike the House was designed to represent
Canadas regions, however it over represents some provinces at the expense of others. For example
currently, Quebec and Ontario each have 24 seats, the same amount of seats as the four Western
provinces as a whole. Atlantic Canada, with a mere 7% of the population, holds a unproportional
29% of the seats. Canadians deserve laws that are fair and free of errors, and the Senate contributes
to that. The Senate s job is to foster national unity, however currently they act in the interest of
themselves and the Prime Minister rather than in the interest of the people.
Abolishing the Senate is country suicide. If there is a

The Fall of the Qing Dynasty
D Addese 1
The Qing Dynasty prospered well into the 20th century despite the numerous problems the
administration faced. However, during the early days of the 20th century, civil disorders continued
to grow in such unmanageable factions that the administration was pushed to do something about
it. The high living standards of the previous century had contributed to a sharp increase in China s
population, there was approximately 400 million people living in China around the nineteenth
century. This spike increased population density, it also created a surplus of labour shortages, land
shortages, inadequate food production and several famines. As an attempt for a solution, Empress
Dowager Cixi proclaimed a call for proposals for reform from ... Show more content on

There were mainly six reasons for the failed attempts of reformation in the late Qing dynasty. These
six reasons include: Empress Dowager Cixi s role, the opposition from conservatives, lack of
careful planning, lack of capital, corruption and the rising popularity of revolutionary
movement. Empress Dowager Cixi was born in 1835 to a family of Manchu government
officials. It is believed that she was born somewhere in Beijing and had entered the Forbidden
City as a concubine to the emperor Xianfeng. She had moved up the social ladder after giving
birth to a male in 1856. During this time period Xianfeng was facing unmanageable problems,
these included, the Taiping rebellion, intrusive foreign powers and the depletion of the royal
treasury. After the death of emperor Xianfeng in 1861, Cixi was able to manipulate officials and
succeeded in placing her son as the next Emperor. The first gesture in the direction of
constitutional reform was made by empress Cixi in 1905, she ordered the formation of a small
study group of five princes and officials three Mancus and two Chinese who would travel to Japan,
the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and Italy to study their governments (Spence,
235). Empress Dowager Cixi however, was the biggest obstacle in carrying out the reforms. Her
opposition towards the reforms was the main reason for

The Significance Of Physical Education Essay
The Significance of Physical Education in American Schools
Review
Hommes, Tiffany J., Bemidji State University, USA
Background Many children in America do not receive the needed amount of physical activity
needed to maintain a healthy weight. Approximately17% of children are obese (Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation, 2016) and one in three children are overweight or obese (American Heart
Association, 2016). This is a local and national emergency that needs to be addressed to keep
children healthy, prevent morbidities, and control the costs that are associated with being
overweight or obese. Pre diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension in children is at an all time
high. However, research indicates that only 3.8 percent of American elementary schools provide
daily physical education (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2007). This paper will discuss the
importance of daily physical education in our schools. There is an abundance of support to
provide daily physical education in our schools. First Lady Michelle Obama is leading a
national initiative called Let s Move to reverse the childhood obesity epidemic. One of the
initiatives in Let s Move is to increase physical activity (Let s Move!) In fact, Healthy People
2020 has objectives to increase the portion of the America s private and public schools that require
daily physical education (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services 2011). There is also a
national initiative, the FIT Kids Act of

Organization An organization is an arrangement of people, pursuing common goals, achieving
results and standards of performance. There are many different types of organisations that are
set up to serve a number of different purposes and to meet a variety of needs. They come in all
forms, shapes and size. Size can be measured in many ways, for example, the numbers of staff,
number of branches sales revenue each year, number of customers and market share. So there
are large, medium and small businesses. The type of activities which individual businesses are
involved in varies depending upon their product. There are three levels of economic activity.
They are primary sector, secondary sector and tertiary sector. Organisation can be categorized by
legal structure. They are sole trader, partnershiop, private or public company, government,
voluntary organisation, co operative, charitable and not for profit organisations and franchise.
Fashion Queen Elsa is a small business because it normally employs less than 200 people. It is a
tertiary sector because it includes not only products but also services. As it is owned by one
person and run by a few people, it is a sole trader. Sole Traders Sole traders are single individuals
carrying on a business on their own. Such businesses are usually small although large ones with
some managerial delegation do exist. The advantages of being a sole trader are as follows (a)No

Goodwill Impairment at Jackson Enterprises Case
1. When is a company required to perform the two step test for goodwill impairment? Explain in
your own words and provide citation from the ASC.
Goodwill is considered impaired when the implied fair value of goodwill in a reporting unit of a
company is less than its carrying amount, or book value, including any deferred income taxes. By
qualitative factors, if the fair value is less than its book value (likelihood more than 50%), two
step of the goodwill impairment test is necessary. According to ASC 350 20 35 2 and 3(A amp;B

to make a cost benefit analysis to determine if having 9 employees that generate only 10% of the

quadrant model based on the task specific performance of the physical brain. Each quadrant is
described to have an ideal style of learningand preferences for individual types of learning behavior.
Quadrant A is logical analytical, Quadrant B is sequential organized, and Quadrant C is emotional

Kolb s Experiential Learning Model: One of the most popular and influential LS models is Kolb s

consisting of concrete experiences (CE), reflective observations (RO), abstract conceptualizations

experiences from different perspectives. From these reflective observations they engage in abstract
conceptualizations creating generalizations that integrate observation into sound theories. They use
these generalizations for active experimentation resulting in other concrete experiences, which
initiate the next spiral of learning. Kolb discusses the relationship of this model with the MBTI, and

(Jarvenpaa amp; Leidner, 2006). When a virtual team is established there are many reasons why the
team was developed, the main reason would be physical locations from one another. When teams
are spread out over a long distance it can be very time consuming as well as costly to travel to that
current location for a meeting, while the meeting could be conducted via the internet and

aspects of the first initial meeting that need to be made to make the team as effective as possible.
According to Nyström amp; Asproth, once initial contact has been made there needs to be
standards that need to be set for a positive communication standard. Technology According to Pitts

Plagiarism, Cheating And Academic Standards
1.Introduction
The demonstration of showing the thoughts of others as your own without referencing known as
plagiarism. This is cheating and degrades academic standards. One of the most important
contributing factors that make plagiarism a worldwide problem is the simple access to web assets,
where all the investigative papers and reports are effectively accessible. It has been evaluated that
plagiarism has always been an area of interest for both administrators and teachers when they want
efforts of students in order to reflect the learning consequences. On the other hand, the web is
anything but difficult to access to practically boundless composed material on each possible
subject, suspicion of understudy copying has started to influence educators at all levels with the
advent of the internet. The thought of the center estimations of scholarly respectability is the part
of greater image of individual integrity at the heart of the plagiarism debate. A link between their
values and plagiarism from the students has been observed from past articles. However, plagiarism
is an ever increasing issue (Appiah, 2016).
2.Causes of Plagiarism
The causes of plagiarism include insufficient languages abilities, an absence of talents for utilizing
data, newness to western scholarly societies and burden to attain education marks. It has been
evaluated from different approaches that student s understandings of plagiarism are provided
through academic integrity. In fact, students did not

Literature And Film From The Late Nineteenth- And Early...
In focusing on literature and film from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries,
Somerville demonstrates how emerging models of homo and heterosexuality at the turn of the
twentieth century were embedded within discourses of race and racialization, particularly
bifurcated constructions of black and white bodies (175). Noting that the 1896 Plessy v.
Ferguson Supreme Court case, in which the government s right to determine an individual s
racial identity was affirmed, emerged at the same time as the discourse of sexology, Somerville
explains that it was not merely a historical coincidence that the classification of bodies as either
homosexual or heterosexual emerged at the same time that the United States was aggressively
constructing and policing the boundary between black and white bodies (3). Somerville argues
that this new polarization of bodies and focus on desires reflected a similar, simultaneous shift in
racial thinking. Over the same time period, the cultural figure of the mulatto gave way to a new
vision of the races as natural opposites, and increasing numbers of legal and social mechanisms
were put into place to prevent people of different races from having sex with one another. Thus the
emergence of new sexual categories mirrored, and was profoundly influenced by, the hardening of
the color line, the stark division of Americans into strictly segregated categories of black and white.

Vladek Tragic Figure In Late Into The Maus
Late into the Maus narrative, a series of squared panels depicts a series of events which leads the

Van Milligan immediately started his change initiative within the city organization. He wanted to
make the government aspect of this vision more effective and efficient. To do this he cut a layer of
bureaucracy out. This layer consisted of seven upper management level jobs. By doing this, he
streamlined the organization and started building his guiding team, which consisted of the people
that needed to be a part of the change and those that wanted to change.
Readiness for Change (Jeremy Jensen) Van Milligan next required each department to justify their

How many things do you carry with you every day? Everybody carries things that symbolize who
they are or where they are from. Those things may be heavy, light, or even things that you cannot

Often, they would share the load of machinery by taking turns carrying the equipment and giving
relief to the men that routinely carried it. This is just some of the things that were specialized to
an individual according to their size or skill. But the soldiers also carried things that weren t so
necessary, yet they would bring these things along anyway for certain personal reasons and a sense
of security.
Not only did the soldiers carry heavy physical burdens, they carried heavy emotional burdens of
fear and the need to maintain ties to home. According to Evans, Grief, terror, love, longing these
were intangibles, but the intangibles had their own mass and specific gravity, they had tangible
weight (Evans, 2015). O Brien clearly defines one of the hardest things the men had to carry, By

Symbolism Of The Scarlet Letter
The Scarlet Letter:
Symbolism of the Scarlet A Symbolism has many different meanings, and the Scarlet A in The
Scarlet Letter has many different meanings as well. Hester Prynne is the main character who is
forced to wear the scarlet letter as remembrance for the crime and the sin that she has committed.
This letter completely ruined her reputation in her community. How could a small piece of fabric
do so much harm? This letter was a representation of something much greater than the letter A .
This letter was originally made to stand for adulteress, as physical reminder of her sins. The
vibrant scarlet red is meant to shame Hester, to make her feel sorry for her mistakes. Most
importantly it was a symbol for change and an emblem of identity. In short, the scarlet letter meant
much more than a letter of shame, it was simply a piece of fabric with meaning that could easily
change.
The first representation of the A was adulteress. When Hester Prynneslept with Reverend
Dimmesdale, as a married woman, she became pregnant. The community thought her a widow, and
knew that she could not be pregnant, unless she had committed adultery. The community decided
on a punishment for her crimes, Hester was forced to wear the scarlet A at all times as a reminder
of the sin she had committed before God. In the puritan era sin was utterly unacceptable, and Hester
had committed adultery, a sin punishable by death itself. This brings us to the next symbolic
evidence of the letter.

The Start of My Love for Wrestling
I believe wrestling is one of the hardest sports around the world. There are only a few who stick
around throughout the season because they are willing to endure the pain. I had difficulties
deciding which sport to play, and I chose the one that called out to me the most. I had difficulties
throughout the season at first, and then I loved wrestlingeven more after it ended.
Ever since I was little and saw WWE RAW, a wrestling TV show, for the first time, I enjoyed
watching wrestling on TV. I would always jump up throwing my arms in the air when my
favorite wrestler was winning. I would invite some of my friends over on Saturdays to mimic
the wrestling moves that the wrestlers were doing from the TV on a trampoline in my backyard
during the afternoon because it looked awesome and it was very fun. The wrestling TV show
inspired me to join wrestling in High School. During my freshmen year in Oroville High School
the winter sports basketball and wrestling were about to start. I kept asking myself Agh, why do
both of the sports I want to play have to be at the same time? After the second week of school
passed by since the fall sports started, some of my friends in basketball kept telling me, You should
play basketball because you got a fine arm.
I replied, I would have to think about it a bit more. Later on in the school day when I was in
weight training class the teacher, Coach Rice, who was also the wrestling coach called me over to
talk because he had seen

Clothes” by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni Essay
The short store Clothes by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni is about a young Indian woman, Sumita,
and her cultural transition to America that is symbolized by her clothes and the color of her
clothes. The traditional Indian attire for a woman is a sari and each one has its own purpose. Her
clothes also indicate her progression from daughter, to wife, to woman.
The story starts off with the bride to be in a yellow sari preparing to meet her future husband by
bathing in a lake. She describes the yellow sari as a sunflower after rain. Yellow here could
possible signify new times to come or peace. The bath she was taking is relaxing her to the idea
that she is about to marry a man she has not even met, as well as the thought of losing her ... Show

[talk about Indian tradition and beliefs about Indian women becoming Americanized]
In some countries white signifies purity and cleanliness. In others it is the color of royalty or deities.
Sumita s husband owns a 7 11 store in California. He is constantly having to work the night shift to
try to earn extra money so that they can move out on their own. One night he is held at gun point
and shot to death. To mourn his death Sumita wears a white sari.
During the mourning of his death they perform a bangle breaking ceremony. [talk about the
ceremony and what It means] They break the bangles that are on Sumita s arm and send multi
colored shards flying all over the room and on the sheet that her husband lies under. The multi
colored shards might represent the fact that right now her life has shattered like the bracelets and
she is scattered in a place that she is not familier with.
You can now tell that Sumita has become pretty Americanized compared to when she first arrived
in the United States. For instance, she is talking about getting an education and working in a
school teaching in front of a classroom of blond kids in her cream and brown American dress.
She is beginning to make more decisions on her own and step away from her beliefs. Here the
color cream and the color brown are making her feel more americanized. If you are to go back a
few paragraphs when her husband first bought the skirt and

Mordor s Rings Essay
I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.
It began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest and
fairest of all beings. Seven to the Dwarf Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls.
And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desire power. For within
these rings was bound the strength and the will to govern each race. But they were all of them
deceived, for another ring was made. Deep in the land of Mordor, in the Fires of Mount Doom, the
Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a master ring to control all others, and into this ring he poured
his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One ring to rule them all. ... Show more

A last alliance of Men and Elves marched against the armies of Mordor, and on the very slopes of
Mount Doom, they fought for the freedom of Middle Earth. Victory was near, but the power of the

It was in this moment, when all hope had faded, that Isildur, son of the king, took up his father s
sword.
Sauron, enemy of the free peoples of Middle Earth, was defeated. The Ring passed to Isildur,
who had this one chance to destroy evil forever, but the hearts of men are easily corrupted. And
the ring of power has a will of its own. It betrayed Isildur, to his death.

Construction Projects For The Construction Industry
Introduction Construction projects contain a high level of complicated procurement processes. Not
only the revenue or profit is critical in the construction industry, but market intelligence and
construction procurement knowledge are also important. The bidding process in the construction
industry is illustrated by many different involved parties including the architectural and
engineering firms, client, general contractors, material suppliers, specialized contractors,
manufacturers, etc. (Halaris, 2001). Preparing proposed documents, appraising bids, and
awarding the contract to the winner of the bid are among the major duties of the client (Gokhan
et al, 2006). (Gokhan et al, 2006) Fig. 1. Bid proposal preparation process Sub contracting has
comprehensively been used in the construction industry. It allows general contractors to employ
the lowest workforce in construction projects and promotes specialization (Maturana, 2005).
Many general contractors only play a role as construction management agents in construction
projects, for example, they sub contract a large volume of their work to sub contractors (Shash,
1998). The characteristic bidding process is showed in Fig. 1. Bidding requirements and
procedures vary and have disparate requirements that are created by the owners. There is a
challenge of a bidding procedure is the quantity of paper based forms that need to be filled, revised,
and filed. This spends a large amount of time, which the contractor changes very

Problematic Hope in Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Park
Many people around the world take delight traveling to a paradise full of beautiful, relaxing and
enjoyable scenery ( Virgin Islands ). Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Park is a site full of
these blissful attributes. ( Virgin Islands ) Not to mention, the reef is filled with remarkable
diversity among marine species and corals.( Virgin Islands ) Although the reef is full of aesthetic
components, this underwater city, among many others, is slowly disappearing.( Virgin Islands )
There are not as many reef fish as there used to be; there s more algae, more coral diseases, and
more reefs that ... are now simply gone, says Ginger Garrison, a marine ecologist with the United
States Geological Survey (USGS). Virgin Islands National Park is a protected area on St. John s
island that is facing many problems beneath the waters.
Beneath its facade, the reef is sick. Around the 1980 s, it was suspected at least three diseases had
swept through the waters. More than 60 types of microbes from the dust have been found. This
includes fungus known to cause disease among Caribbean sea fans. It still eludes us where the
source of the diseases are, but researchers have suspicions it s from African dust. It travels through
the Atlantic trade winds in the summer. The dust carries pathogens... Show more content on

Similarities Between Video 5 And Video 7 Essay
There are many similarities and differences within the health care system, specifically when it
comes to Electronic Health Records (EHR) and its privacy. According to the Centers for
Medicare Medicaid Services, an Electronic Health Record is an electronic version of a patient s
medical history, that is maintained by the provider over time, and may include all of the key
administrative clinical data relevant to that person s care under a particular provider, including
demographics, progress notes, problems, medications, vital signs, past medical history,
immunizations, laboratory data and radiology reports (CMS, 2016). In this paper, we will be
comparing and contrasting some of the main similarities and differences found between Video 5
and Video 7. Some of the similarities that will be discussed are the definition of privacyin regards to
Electronic Health Records, methods that would enable more effective privacy for EHRs, the CSA
s 10 privacy principles of PIPEDA, and the responsibility of the health professionals in maintaining
the privacy of personal information.
The two videos that were chosen discuss electronic health records in regards to privacy. There are
some similarities with the content that was presented amongst the two videos. First of all,
according to Abrams Gibson (2013), privacy is the right an individual has over their personal
information in terms of sharing it, who has access and also enables the individual to control what

Martha Stewart Scandal
Even if they d never met her in person, people would talk about being like Martha, dressing like
Martha, or having tastes like Martha (Knowledge Wharton, 2004). Martha Stewart, Omni Media
CEO, represents the company s image more than anything else; being tied directly to the company
can damage reputation when the CEO is in the middle of a public scandal. After all, Stewart was an
Icon to many women and her reputation is what helped her brand be so successful. From magazines
to TV shows Martha Stewart Living Omnimediawas becoming a very successful company. Martha

Stewart then built a website in which where she tried to claim she was innocent but did not
communicate effectively. Marthatalks.com, which is now unavailable, the site launched by her PR
firm which began to show Stewart as a good natured person. The website contained letters from
Stewart, fan mail, and case updates. This was able to make the public more aware of her situation
and bring them hope that he would be okay.
When she was sent to prison Martha Stewart compared herself to President Nelson Mandela as
an example of the many good people who have gone to prison. While in Jail she would post
letters about her life in prison so fans could read how she was doing; even though she went to
prison she still retained a pretty loyal fan base. Omni media did some damage control and
repositioned the brands image; Martha Stewart was taken off magazine covers, and her name was
made smaller on other products. In an effort to stop the losses MSOL dropped the Letter from
Martha in Living magazine and reduced the size of her name on the cover of the Magazine
Stewart even decided to go to prison early against advice from her lawyers and this was another
key tool in her communication. This finally showed people that she truly accepted her decisions
and wanted to serve her time and move on; her fan base stayed by her side and this is what made
the difference in her current success. Once Stewart was out of prison she became the spotlight of
the company again.

Appeal
The Federal Court allows for the application for judicial review of the removal order and the
decision of the Immigration officer regarding eligibility . If the application reviewing officer has
any concerns regarding the claimant, and determines that the applicant is not eligible for the
refugee status based on one of the four key grounds mentioned above the case is most likely to be
appealed through the court.
During the trial each individual will have the opportunity to clarify any specific information and
give more precise and clear reasons for the purpose of immigration, with no right to further appeal
the final order issued by the Federal Court. In case the appeal goes well, then there is a hearing
before the Trial Division of the Federal Court.
Furthermore, specific groups of the applicants who were determined ineligible by the Citizenship
and Immigration Canada (CIC) may be reviewed by the Immigration Division, however only due to
the request issued by the CIC department.
After the review process, if the claimant has been determined to be eligible for the referral under

The Theme Of Death And Death In Shakespeare s Hamlet
In Hamlet, Shakespeare depicts the diffusion side of the problematic part in the life of the hero
who recoils and leads to his death. The use of death in storytelling offers many pathways to
character development and can also carry the theme of the story. Many stories can also be centered
around death. In the story of Hamlet, the story begins with the young prince depressed about the
deathof his father.
Prince Hamlet was ordinary boy just like any other. He was a smart and clever young man and
was probably very kind to have many friends and a girlfriend, but after the news of his father s
death, he had changed. Hamlet soon began to shut himself in his room every night and wears

suspicious and proceeds to walk out of the room. This means that what the ghost said must be true
and he may now proceed in getting his revenge. Even though the young prince believes that he is
pretending, it seems that between the death of his father and the feeling of betrayal by his loved
ones has taken its toll on Hamlet.
During a conversation with his mother, Hamlet hears a noise from the tapestry and thought it
was Claudius, so he proceeds to stabbing him, but out came Polonius, Ophelias father. Hamlet s
obsession with revenge has caused him to kill an innocent man and unavoidably leads his lover
to perish. The death of her father drives Ophelia insane and eventually she drowns causing her
brother Laertes to hate Hamlet for destroying his family and teaming up with Claudius to kill the
prince. Their plan was to have Laertes fight Hamlet in a fencing match where Laertes will fight
with a sword that is coated with poison and later Claudius will offer Hamlet a Cup filled with
poison. As the match begins Laertes cuts Hamlet, then they accidentally switch swords and then
Hamlet cuts Laertes. Now both boys have been sliced by the poisoned blade and their lives are
reaching their end. As Claudius watches the match with Gertrude, too focused on the match to be

The Basic Parts That Make Up A Computer
Lawson City
Since you are looking to upgrade or purchase a new set of computers, I would like to discuss the
basic parts that make up a computer. It is important for everyone to have a basic understanding of
what makes a computer. As technology advances, it s important that you be able to make an
educated decision on whether to upgrade or to replace your current systems. The difference can
be a good deal of your hard earned money. Therefore, I will be detailing the Operating System,
Processor, Memory, RAM, and a few other things that will help you make good decisions when
purchasing new machines.
Let s start with the Operating System. Chris Woodford describes the operating system as the core
software in a computer that (essentially) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These computers date back to DOS, and Windows NT. Now we have multicore Processors, which
allow us to run two or more tasks at the same time. Of course now days, you can surf the internet,
write a word document, while listening to your favorite playlist on iTunes. We have come a really
long way.
The next thing we will discuss is Memory. Your hard drive allows you to store all the
applications, programs, pictures, and any other data that you might like to save on your
machine. Hard drives now come in many different sizes depending on your needs. They range
from 100 GB to 3.9 Terabytes. The average home computer has 500 GB of memory. We also have
Solid State Drives which are said to be more reliable because there is no spinning mechanism to
worry about possibly failing.
Now we must discuss the RAM (Random Access Memory). Even though this is wiped clean
every time you shut down your computer, your random access memory stores the location of
that data. Because of this, the CPU doesn t need to go back out to the address bus and find the
data s location on your hard drive. It s like going to the library. If you need to know the definition
of a word, you don t need to get up repeatedly, walk over to the shelf with the dictionary and open
it to the corresponding page. Instead you can just take the dictionary off of the shelf and keep it at
the table until you are done. Your RAM does the exact same thing, thus speeding up the process.

If one is stuck in an unknown dark alley, fear is the instinct that compels them to run or take action. Fear also causes confessions. The Right to Own Property Essay The Right to Own Property The United States of America was built on the ideals set forth by our founding fathers in the Constitution of the United States of America. Such ideals are held to the highest standards in our community to this day; like our right to the freedom of speech, our right to bear arms, and the right to own property. Each of these rights are firmly stated in the Constitution, along with many other rights that citizens of the Untied States have. The standing practice was that currency would remain in the hands of the military administration while valuables had to be transferred to the Reich Central Bank in Berlin. In return for these valuables, the central bank transferred cash to the local administration equivalent to the value of the items it had received (Arad 22). While the practices of this are inequitable, in the eyes of their Nazi dictatorship, it was considered fair. They would take the property of another human being and sell it so they could help their war effort to kill more people that were against the Nazi government. In no way is taking the valuables of these innocent victims just, and it is salt in the wound to sell their valuables to aid in their death. • 5. Analysis Of The Poem Adrienne Rich Women had little resources to escape an unhappy or abusive marriage during the nineteen fifties. Most just learned to deal with it behind their closed doors in silence. During this time the divorce rate, according to an article published in 1973 by the National Center for Health Statistics , was at twenty five percent. (Plateris). Most women did not have the luxury of getting one due to the fact that most husbands of that time had control of the household finances, not to mention that it was a costly venture. Some marriages struggled with spousal abuse as well; be it emotional or physical yet domestic violence at this time was something that people really did not talk about, nor were there the resources for victims that we have today. In this haunting poem, Adrienne Rich uses symbolism to paint a picture of a scared, and lonely woman as she creates this tapestry of Tigers being hunted, in a colorful landscape, while she is pondering her relationship between her and her spouse. The author starts the poem in a quiet manner with the character Aunt Jennifer sitting peaceably weaving a tapestry of majestic Tigers being hunted. As everyone knows, I m always extremely late to everything, so I woke up at 7 o clock SHARP to make sure I would arrive on time to the party. People always ask me Why are you always late? The answer is, my mother. She takes an excessive amount of time to get ready and the last thing to do is rush her. It was already 9 o clock and the party started at 11, meaning we had to get things going. I began to run back and forth, room to room, checking on my mother to see if she was anywhere near ready. The Senate Should Be Abolished Of The Senate The Senate plays a key role in tandem with the House of Commons, in the operation of Canada s government, some people think that the Senate should be abolished; however without the Senate, The right to bear arms could become true for Canada. The Senate should be reformed; abolishing or keeping the Senate at its current state would be unjust. The current Senate is not elected, effective, nor equal. If the Senate is kept at its current state, it will continue to operate fine, however the Senate can be much more effective at what it does if it gets amended. Currently the Senate is not elected, equal, nor efficient. People who comprise the Senate are selected by the governor general on the advice of the Prime Minister, so those selected most likely will act in good intention towards the Prime Minister. The Senate, unlike the House was designed to represent Canadas regions, however it over represents some provinces at the expense of others. For example currently, Quebec and Ontario each have 24 seats, the same amount of seats as the four Western provinces as a whole. Atlantic Canada, with a mere 7% of the population, holds a unproportional 29% of the seats. Canadians deserve laws that are fair and free of errors, and the Senate contributes to that. However, during the early days of the 20th century, civil disorders continued to grow in such unmanageable factions that the administration was pushed to do something about it. The high living standards of the previous century had contributed to a sharp increase in China s population, there was approximately 400 million people living in China around the nineteenth century. There were mainly six reasons for the failed attempts of reformation in the late Qing dynasty. These six reasons include: Empress Dowager Cixi s role, the opposition from conservatives, lack of careful planning, lack of capital, corruption and the rising popularity of revolutionary movement. Empress Dowager Cixi was born in 1835 to a family of Manchu government officials. It is believed that she was born somewhere in Beijing and had entered the Forbidden City as a concubine to the emperor Xianfeng. She had moved up the social ladder after giving birth to a male in 1856. During this time period Xianfeng was facing unmanageable problems, these included, the Taiping rebellion, intrusive foreign powers and the depletion of the royal treasury. After the death of emperor Xianfeng in 1861, Cixi was able to manipulate officials and succeeded in placing her son as the next Emperor. The first gesture in the direction of constitutional reform was made by empress Cixi in 1905, she ordered the formation of a small study group of five princes and officials three Mancus and two Chinese who would travel to Japan, the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and Italy to study their governments (Spence, 235). The Significance Of Physical Education Essay The Significance of Physical Education in American Schools Review Hommes, Tiffany J., Bemidji State University, USA Background Many children in America do not receive the needed amount of physical activity needed to maintain a healthy weight. Approximately17% of children are obese (Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, 2016) and one in three children are overweight or obese (American Heart Association, 2016). Learners have concrete experiences. They reflect on these experiences from different perspectives. From these reflective observations they engage in abstract conceptualizations creating generalizations that integrate observation into sound theories. They use these generalizations for active experimentation resulting in other concrete experiences, which initiate the next spiral of learning. In focusing on literature and film from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Somerville demonstrates how emerging models of homo and heterosexuality at the turn of the twentieth century were embedded within discourses of race and racialization, particularly bifurcated constructions of black and white bodies (175). Noting that the 1896 Plessy v. Ferguson Supreme Court case, in which the government s right to determine an individual s racial identity was affirmed, emerged at the same time as the discourse of sexology, Somerville explains that it was not merely a historical coincidence that the classification of bodies as either homosexual or heterosexual emerged at the same time that the United States was aggressively constructing and policing the boundary between black and white bodies (3). Somerville argues that this new polarization of bodies and focus on desires reflected a similar, simultaneous shift in racial thinking. Over the same time period, the cultural figure of the mulatto gave way to a new vision of the races as natural opposites, and increasing numbers of legal and social mechanisms were put into place to prevent people of different races from having sex with one another. Thus the emergence of new sexual categories mirrored, and was profoundly influenced by, the hardening of the color line, the stark division of Americans into strictly segregated categories of black and white. Symbolism Of The Scarlet Letter The Scarlet Letter: Symbolism of the Scarlet A Symbolism has many different meanings, and the Scarlet A in The Scarlet Letter has many different meanings as well. Hester Prynne is the main character who is forced to wear the scarlet letter as remembrance for the crime and the sin that she has committed. This letter completely ruined her reputation in her community. How could a small piece of fabric do so much harm? This letter was a representation of something much greater than the letter A . This letter was originally made to stand for adulteress, as physical reminder of her sins. The vibrant scarlet red is meant to shame Hester, to make her feel sorry for her mistakes. Most importantly it was a symbol for change and an emblem of identity. In short, the scarlet letter meant much more than a letter of shame, it was simply a piece of fabric with meaning that could easily change. The first representation of the A was adulteress. When Hester Prynneslept with Reverend Dimmesdale, as a married woman, she became pregnant. The community thought her a widow, and knew that she could not be pregnant, unless she had committed adultery. The community decided on a punishment for her crimes, Hester was forced to wear the scarlet A at all times as a reminder of the sin she had committed before God. In the puritan era sin was utterly unacceptable, and Hester had committed adultery, a sin punishable by death itself. This brings us to the next symbolic evidence of the letter. ... By mid June, all of these divisions were on the move North to the North. During their travel up North, they did have a lot of random battles with Northern troops, however they continued on their way almost steamrolling over all the Northern troops. On June 21, however one of the divisions that was led by General Ewell, entered into Chambersburg Pennsylvania. A few days later, the other two divisions arrived in Pennsylvania. They took food and horses from the farms that scattered around the countryside. One of the Confederate soldiers wrote to his wife explaining that they were doing all of this to pay back these people for some of the damage that they have done us even though we are not doing them half as bad as they have done us. The soldier added, We will have to fight here, and when it comes it will be the biggest on record. The Southern Confederate troops in Pennsylvania were somewhat scattered, however General Lee was not even worried about this. He felt safe, mainly because he believed that their enemy General Hooker s Union army had yet to cross over the Potomac River. Lee, however did not realize one key thing and that was that his scouts were so far away that they could not report to him quickly which had then meant that General Lee still did not even know the truth to what was ... • 40. The Start of My Love for Wrestling I believe wrestling is one of the hardest sports around the world. There are only a few who stick around throughout the season because they are willing to endure the pain. I had difficulties deciding which sport to play, and I chose the one that called out to me the most. I had difficulties throughout the season at first, and then I loved wrestlingeven more after it ended. Ever since I was little and saw WWE RAW, a wrestling TV show, for the first time, I enjoyed watching wrestling on TV. I would always jump up throwing my arms in the air when my favorite wrestler was winning. I would invite some of my friends over on Saturdays to mimic the wrestling moves that the wrestlers were doing from the TV on a trampoline in my backyard during the afternoon because it looked awesome and it was very fun. The wrestling TV show inspired me to join wrestling in High School. During my freshmen year in Oroville High School the winter sports basketball and wrestling were about to start. I kept asking myself Agh, why do both of the sports I want to play have to be at the same time? After the second week of school passed by since the fall sports started, some of my friends in basketball kept telling me, You should play basketball because you got a fine arm. I replied, I would have to think about it a bit more.
