Samurai Vs Knights
Introduction
In medieval times, the Samurais and Knights lived on other sides of the world. They had some
similarities and difference when it came to the class types and soldier types. They were both
extremely important because of the roles that they had, they both had to protect very important
individuals. This essay will focus on, the code of conduct, weapons, training, education and
apprenticeship and the comparisons between the Knights and Samurais
Code of conduct
The Samurais Code of Conduct is Kendo The Way of the Sword which is about discipline and
mortality, this was also known as Bushido, these were like the Knights code of Chivalry. Bushido
means that a true warrior must keep his loyalty, courage, respect, compassion, and honour as it is
important. It was mainly about how a warrior should act and what they have do. The samurais
code of conduct is extremely strict, if the samurais master or leader dies they must perform
Seppuku. The Knights didn t have to do this but may kill themselves because they feel that they
have no purpose. This is when the Samurai slices his sword straight through his body, if they don t
want to die and perform Seppuku the samurai becomes a Ronin which is a Samurai without a
master or leader. The knights code of conduct was called the code of Chivalry... Show more content

When guns were first made knights and samurais both stated to realize they were uses lees guns
because they can penetrate through Armor and kill extremely rapidly. So, in the late 1800s guns
became a very popular choice of weapon because of their extreme power against low to medium
Armor types. So, when the knights and samurais realized that they need to have guns or there
wouldn t be very much point in having a sword and Armor. Even bows and arrows became useless
because all the other enemies can shoot from long range and it is much easier to win

Different Theories About Learning Styles Essay
Introduction Learning style is an individual s unique approach to learning based on strengths,
weaknesses, and, preferences. Learning styles explains the concept that every person learns
differently. Assessments of learning style typically ask individuals to evaluate what sort of
information presentation they prefer, and, what kind of mental activity they find most engaging,
and, attractive for them. Theories about learning stylesagree that all people can be classified
according to their style of learning. In this paper different theories about learning styles are
reviewed briefly. At the end, Gendlin experiential theory is reviewed in detail.

Romanian Government
Introduction This report targets the Romanian Government and it examines the positive and
negative aspects of the free admission to museums policy which is considered to be implemented in
this country. The main focus of this report is on how an increase in the demand for museum tickets
will boost the economy of Romania, by allowing people to visit museums for free. Throughout the
report, other examples of other countries such as the United Kingdom and Sweden will be used in
order to explain how free admission to museums will have a positive impact on Romania as well.
Economic functioning of the museum market, museum visitor statistics and demographic pattern
for museum visits A very important factor in the market is the price mechanism:... Show more

The museum tickets demand for people from lower socio economic groups is elastic, because
demand for merit/luxury goods is directly related to their income. People from higher class
groups can afford merit goods and thus museum visits due to their increased income. Their
demand for museum tickets is inelastic. For them, museums would be normal goods instead of
luxury ones, as for them it would not be an effort to purchase museum tickets. Cross price
elasticity of demand is the responsiveness of demand for one good to a change in the price of
another (Sloman and Jones 53): Substitute goods, or a pair of goods which are considered by
consumers to be alternatives to each other. As the price of one goes up, the demand for the other
rises (Sloman and Jones 35). For example, if the price of museum tickets goes up, people would
find easier to choose substitute goods such as amusement parks, cinemas or theatres.
Complementary goods, or a pair of goods consumed together. As the price of one goes up, the
demand for both goods will fall. (Sloman and Jones 35) If the price of museum tickets would be
lowered, or if the free admission scheme is implemented, then people would very likely go to
museums and buy goods that go well with their museum visits, such as personalised post cards,
souvenirs, posters, books etc. However, if the price of museum tickets rises, then demand for
complementary goods decreases. Income elasticity of demand is the responsiveness

Essay on Political Correctness Has Gone Too Far
Political Correctness has Gone Too Far
The Politically Correct movement s purpose is to bring historically condescending terms, offensive
music and art, and controversial educational content to an end and replace them with more positive
and less offending references. Offensive and demoralizing efforts are wrong, but the censorship and
deletion of words and phrases that do not contain the intention to demoralize are taking political
correctness too far. Politically correct (or PC ) antics have created a social decline that is growing
worse with each generation, specifically regarding areas of art, education, language, and our right to
freedom of speech; the degradation they have brought to the American psyche has even led to ...

The word snowman is not offensive by any means. It was not created with an intension to offend,
demean, or label any group. But the new term for snowman is snowperson. Frosty the Snowman,
the children s tale that familiarized America with the term snowman, was originally created as a
Christmas song. ( Frosty the Snowman was a Tin Pan Alley novelty created by Jack Nelson and
Steve Rollins in 1950. Wikipedia online Encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowman ) .
It was not a story of a snow woman. It was a story of a snowman. The name snowperson suggests
that it is unisex, and to consider Frosty as unisex would numb the creative aspects of our holiday
song and children s stories of Frosty the Snowman. This is an overly sensitive effort to stop a word
that has no offensive connotation and kill its creative and historical meaning.
However, many groups claim that political correctness in society is justified in its efforts to
sanitize offensive material created though years of oppressing minorities. What was originally a
noble idea, to remove blatant words of offensive meaning, has turned into an over the top effort
to rid any words of possible controversy. We are regulating our ways of plain speaking, freedom
of choice, and freedom of speech. Laws of restrictions on slander and public decency should be
decided on the common law methodology and not by the interests of the liberal mob . If plain
speaking is not allowed, clear thinking is

To Kill A Mockingbird Friendship Analysis
The definition of friendship is the state of being a person attached to another by feelings of
affection or personal regard (dictionary.com). In Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird, friendship
drives the interactions between the main characters that live in Maycomb, Alabama. Miss Maudie
Atkinson, a neighbor whom is kind to the children; Jem, Scout s older brother; and Arthur Radley,
a neighbor whom rarely comes out of his house and is kind, all have a friendshipwith Scout in
different ways that grows throughout the novel.
Miss Maudie and Scout have a friendship that starts very small at the beginning and
progressively grows throughout the novel. Dill and Jem play together and exclude Scout. She
does not want to do what they are doing and be reminded that she is not like them because she is
a girl. Scout spends time with Miss Maudie, a neighbor, on pain of being called a girl, I spent
most of the remaining twilights that summer sitting with Miss Maudie Atkinson on her front
porch (Lee 42), instead of playing with the boys. Miss Maudie and Scout spend a lot of time
together. Miss Maudie treats Scout like she is an equal to her and not a child. Scout enjoys
spending time with Miss Maudie and it makes her feel like she is still a tomboy. Miss Maudie
bakes cakes for the children often and Scout always receives her own little cake. When she finishes
eating the cake, Miss Maudie and her have a conversation. Scout talks to Miss Maudie about their

Suzanne Collins
My favorite author has to be Suzanne Collins. Suzanne was born on August 10, 1962 and is the
youngest of 4 children. In her family history was very important, especially with their father.
Their father would tell his children about the war when he was deployed in Vietnam. She feels it
is important for children to learn history even though it may be gruesome but, it was all real and
it happened. Suzanne graduated college at Indiana University, in 1985 as a double major in
theater and telecommunications. She then went on to earn a master s degree in dramatic
writing from New York University. After all of these she started writing for many children
television shows. Many of these were for Nickelodeon, she also recently was a freelancer for the
show Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! Her first book she wrote, Gregor the Overlander, was published in
2003. This book is about a boy and his discovery of a new world he finds when he fell through a
grate of a laundry room in a New York City apartment building. This book was the start of a 5

record; if you get a traffic ticket you points can go up. Tickets for speeding, parking tickets, not
using turn signals, parking in handicapped spots, reckless driving, DUI, DWI, driving on a
suspended license, driving without a license or drag racing can all make your points go up. You
can receive one point for less severe traffic violations including speeding, running a red light, not

for traffic school if your violation is a misdemeanor, if it is because of traffic tickets, if it
involved any alcohol or drugs, if you must appear in court, if you were driving a commercial
vehicle, and if you have a commercial driver s license. Types of infractions include parking
where you aren t supposed including red zones and handicapped space, running a red light,
turning illegally, not stopping at a stop sign, changing lanes with no signal, using the carpool
lane with no passengers, no headlights when driving at night, and hitting another vehicle. You
can attend traffic school if you hold a valid driver s license and if you are eligible by the courts
to attend driving school you will receive a notice in the mail with the details. If you ve been have
a traffic ticket that is causing your points to go up, causing your insurance company to potentially

The Double Meaning Of A Fairy Tale Or Myth
By pausing and closely analyzing works of literature, we may discover a meaning that was not
obviously revealed through a simple surface reading. These subtle meanings are referred to as
double meanings. Strategies for determining the double meaning of a fairy tale or myth include
close examination of the language, the form and content of dialogue within the text, and in this case
observing the subtle differences in word picture combinations. In American Born Chinese, the
characters Jin Wang and the Monkey King struggle to be content with who they are and battle
external and internal prejudices; however, on a deeper level it teaches us about standing up for our
principles, self acceptance, and forgiveness to paint a portrait of how the... Show more content on

He abandons his principles, lies to his parents, and betrays his best friend to become just like the
people who had tormented him throughout his life. Wei Chen tells him, Now you ve broken
my heart more completely than Suzy ever could (Yang, 190). He abandons the principles of
loyalty and honesty so he will not be harassed. Later Jin then realizes that his transformation is
not worth abandoning his principles, and he goes to make amends with Wei Chen. The Monkey
King says, I came to serve as your conscience as a signpost to your soul (Yang, 221). This shows
that deep down in his conscience at his very core, Jin knows that this is not right. Furthermore,
this tale teaches us about forgiveness in conflicts between friends. Wei Chen consistently
forgives Jin for his rudeness. For example, Jin tells him, This isn t Taiwan, you doof! Stop acting
like such an F.O.B.! (Yang, 89). After Jin kisses Suzy, Wei Chen s girlfriend, Wei Chen loses his
faith in humanity; Jin apologizes, and they attempt to reconcile their relationship. Jin Wang tells

these characteristics they serve as a mirror to show us how the author is portraying God or Tze Yo

Reel Injun Stereotypes
Reel Injun and Misrepresentation and Native Stereotyping on Screen
Misrepresentation of Natives on screen throughout the 20th century has had an adverse effect on
them. Whether it was positive or negative stereotypes, Natives felt the effect of Hollywood and
began to lose their self identity, their honour, and their pride. Reel Injun takes a look at how
movies have defined an entire race and also documents the rebirth of the Native identity after
decades of destructive Hollywood movies by interviewing notable Native actors, actresses, and
activists. By doing so, director Neil Diamond hopes to silence Hollywood stereotypes and get
Hollywood to properly represent the Native people.
Hollywood s early depictions of Natives consisted of tribesmen and noble savages who are in tune
with Nature. Films such as The Silent Enemy portray these stereotypes on screen with actors like
Chief Buffalo Child Long Lance being shown as tribesmen who are very noble Natives. Although
these stereotypes are positive, they are still stereotypes nonetheless. These stereotypes have caused

The Power Of The Nazi Party
Carl Schmitt argues that the role of myth plays an essential role in politics and that nationalism, in
any confrontation, will win over socialism. Schmitt s argument can be used to justify the events
that occurred in Germany during the late 20s and early 30s. However, even though nationalism did
play a key role in post hyperinflation Germany, it is far too simplistic to say that the only motive of
such events was nationalism. Events like the Beer hall putsch or the growth and success of the Nazi
partywere not solely because of nationalism. There were other factors that contributed to these
events such as the fact that Germany was in a terrible situation to begin with. Germany was in
chaos after WW1, and when the Great Depression followed, unemployment, inflation and food
shortage increased even more. Such events led to the growth of the Nazi party as Germans felt like
Hitler represented what many of them felt hatred of the republic. The Nazi party rose significatively
because of their usage of propaganda, their anti Semitism, their violence, their hatred of the Weimar
republicand also because of opportunism.
One way the Nazi party grew immensely was through their usage of propaganda. With such
propaganda, the Nazi intended to appeal their audiences with what they wanted to hear. Their
propaganda had a lot to do with their electoral success in 1930 since it was planned accordingly to
their audience, which mostly directed to workers. According to Richard J. Evans, in

Anabolic Steroids Case Study
In the ongoing issue of the use of anabolic steroids, one of the recurring statements made by
groups of people opposed to their use, is that steroids are harmful to your health. Anything that you
put into your body can cause side effects and health issues. However, many people would argue
that the responsible use of steroids is in no way detrimental to your health. There can be health
related side effects associated with steroid use, but even most of these come with long term misuse
of the hormone in question. Clinical case studies continue to link anabolic steroidadministration
with myocardial infarction, suicide, and cancer, but evidence to support a cause and effect
relationship is lacking. On the other hand, there are several steroids... Show more content on

While certain steroids can raise blood pressure, which can cause anxiety, this can usually be kept
under control by using a responsible dosage. Studies have proven that testosterone makes males feel
positive and motivated. In addition, similar studies also suggest that anabolic steroids amplify
personality traits that people already possess before introducing any exogenous hormones into
their system. So as far as roid rage goes, if a person acts angry and full of rage while they are
using steroids, there is a pretty good chance that they exhibited the same type of behavior before
they put anything extra into their body. The same thing can be said for depression. If you are
depressed while on steroids, you most likely were depressed before you started. There are many
other arguments that can be presented against anabolic steroid use, with the majority of them based
on myth, conjecture, and misinformation. For every argument made against the use of anabolic
steroids, an argument can be made for, most often based in fact. This brings to light the amount of
anti steroid propaganda that exists in our society. Just like many other things in life, the use of
anabolic steroids ultimately rests with the personal choice of an

Analysis Of All That Heaven Allows
The development and implementation of 3D in popular cinema shares many similarities with the
introduction of color into films. If we examine the histories of both technologies, Moana s color
analogue is Douglas Sirk s melodrama All That Heaven Allows. In terms of timeline, both come at a
point when the art form is still in between the astonishment and absorption phases of using the
technology. Though All That Heaven Allows was made around fifteen years after the first
technicolorfilms, the movie is still designed to have the audience notice its beautifully colored
shots. Most of the films landscapes feel oversaturated and doctored. These exterior shots often
feel more like paintings to appreciate rather than providing context for the film s interior shots. At
the same time, color doesn t define the story and characters in the same way as early Technicolor
films like Michael Curtiz s The Adventures of Robin Hood. In those instances color acted as a
constant signal of where we were in the narrative, and formed strong associations between
characters and individual colors. In All That Heaven Allows, the color schemes don t drastically
change to suit the narrative, but they re still far from fading into the background. Sirk uses color
more as an emotional cue, nudging the audience into feeling the drama of the film. Ultimately, All
That Heaven Allows is a film made in the liminal period between astonishment and absorption of
color.
Moana uses 3D in a similar manner to All That Heaven Allows, as a noticeable but ultimately
auxiliary narrative tool. In earlier digital 3D films, negative and positive parallax were used to
create discrete new worlds. Avatar and Coraline were crafted to feel entirely different when the
protagonists ventured into a different environment, similar to the color phases of Robin Hood.
Moana, on the other hand, uses 3D in a way that pervades the entire film. Rather than build new
worlds, Moana uses 3D for the emotional effect, bringing characters and objects towards and away
from the audience to make us feel. Though the purpose of the film is not to showcase 3D
technology, we can t help but notice stuff flying at us during dynamic sequences like How Far I ll

Monitoring Of Competitors Come Into Play At The Grand...
At what stage does ongoing active monitoring of competitors come into play in the grand scheme of
an SEO campaign?
The digital world can be pretty cutthroat. It s not enough to simply be aware of who your

only will this help you to stay competitive, you can critically evaluate what works and what doesn t

Importance Of Mateship

the culture of Australia. This aspect is mateship, something of which involves the creation of
strong bonds with people that you can rely on and form during school life. Being a mate is more
than just a friend, it is a relationship between people that have shared experiences, mutual respect
and unconditional assistance. Usually, mateships are formed by the similar hobbies that you like
to do, for example playing for your local sport team or going to social gatherings like the movies

Miley Cyrus Cultural Appropriation
Miley Cyrus, is an inspiration to many young women all over the world. Due to the flip flopping

songwriter and actress. In 2006, she was recognized as a teen idol when she starred on the Disney
channel television series Hannah Montana. After that, she had a huge downfall, she started using
drugs and behaving lecherously. In 2013, while promoting her fourth album Bangerz her sexually
explicit behavior began, many looked at her in disgust from this point on. Miley Cyrusthen
struggled with her gender identity. In an interview she states, It s weird that I m a girl because I
just don t feel like a girl, and I don t feel like a boy. Cyrus as well as many others identify
themselves as gender neutral. Once cyrus decided to discontinue smoking marijuana, people
began to notice. A December 2016 study indicated the drug use has gone down. I wouldn t
necessarily say she s back to the old Miley just yet, but she s doing better; however, there is still
room for improvement. Miley Cyrus was recently accused of cultural appropriation for hip hop
comments in an interview. In definition, cultural appropriation is the adoption or use of elements
of one culture by members of another culture (Farah). This a horrifying concept because it s often
seen as controversial and strips the group of its identity. Miley Cyrus was accused of cultural

Summary Of Ayn Rand s Anthem
To rule, a ruler needs control. It is the cornerstone of any society with a leader. The society Ayn
Rand creates in Anthem is no exception. In Anthem, the rules in the society depicted by Rand exist
for control, and were initially created for equality but spiraled out of control into a world built on
collectivism and backward teachings. The society Prometheus, or Equality, envisions in the final
chapters of the novella would never have any of the rules in his past society, as he realizes through
his journey that they are evil and damaging. The Unmentionable Times turned into the society we
see in Anthem through giving up freedom for the sake of equality. A high school teacher mailed
Rand her students questions about the novella,

Volkswagen Group s Star Premium Execution Players
Porsche and Bentley, two of the Volkswagen Group s star premium execution players and now
situated to share propelled innovations, are setting out toward unadulterated electric creation
models, each focusing on 500 km (310 mi) range, tremendous increasing speed ability, and 15 20

In a noteworthy proclamation, Porsche Chairman Dr. Oliver Blume has affirmed that its Mission E
idea seen at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show will be underway by around 2020, and Bentley
Director Kevin Rose told Automotive Engineering that the two seat Bentley EXP10 Speed 6 idea,
which looks set to wind up a generation reality, might be offered with an unadulterated electric
powertrain as an alternative.
Other Bentley models may likewise be accessible in immaculate electric structure. There are parts
of all electric innovation that are extremely Bentley, including calm running, easy speeding up, and
practically moment high torque conveyance, said Rose. These advantages would be conveyed by
means of all wheel drive as they are on the Mission E.
With the conceivable special case of calm, this is the parallel intuition at Stuttgart Zuffenhausen,
where Porsche has declared a €700 million spend on generation offices that will incorporate
production of electric engines.

In medieval time, different events were held to test and prepare soldiers and knights for war. Sir
Gawain exhibits a lot of bravery where he opts to face the Green Knight after everybody else
declines. Moreover, he holds up his end of the deal by going to the Green Warrior s chapel to
have him deliver his blow as agreed. At the time when the Green Knight delivers his blow, he
teases Sir Gawain where he shows his bravery by asking the Green Knight to deliver the blow. The
blow causes a minor injury on Sir Gawain.
Other themes captured in the poem include respect for law. Sir Gawain had to honor the duel
otherwise, it would be considered contemptuous to the authority. There were stringent rules that
controlled the above duels with dire ramifications for individuals who did not honour such duels. In
most cases, these individuals were put to death.
The hunting scenes form part of the poem plot. They are highly symbolic which makes the poem
interesting to read. As aforementioned, hunting was an important act in medieval times and was
held in high regard. Moreover, different animals were viewed differently by the society with some
animals being held in higher regard than others are. The hunting scenes provide the reader with an
opportunity to understand the significance of character s actions. These characters include Lord

Nose Cone Designs Lab Report
The experiment conducted was to observe how changing factors, including nose cone designs and
volume of water would affect a water rockets maximum vertical displacement and the forces
involved. It was hypothesised that the round cone would travel a greater distance in comparison to
the square and pointed cones. Another assumption that was made was the water rocket with the 750
ml volume of water would be the most effective and would travel the greatest distance in
comparison to the 500ml and 1000ml volumes of water. As seen from the results collected, it
suggests that these hypotheses were supported and matched the expected outcomes with
experimental errors and uncertainties.
Table 1 illustrates the collected measurements for max height reached(m), max velocity reached(m
/s), acceleration (m/s^2) and drag subjected on the water rocket with differing nose cone designs.
These results show the round cone had an acceleration of 25.22 m/s^2, consequently, it had the
least amount of drag of 19.54N. In comparison the square cone had the greatest acceleration of
36.52 m/s^2, thus, it had the highest drag of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All six motions are a parabolic motion. The r^2 values suggest this as they are close to 1. This is
to be expected as water rockets use the theory of projectile motion. An object that is projected will
continue to be in motion by its own inertia and is influenced by the downward force of
gravity(Berkeley Engineering, unknown). Rockets apply this theory as once they are propelled by
the initial thrust it will continue to move in an upward motion until the direct force is stopped, then
it will follow a path identical to that of a projectile motion, in which the gravity acts to return the
rocket back to the ground. The motion of the rocket can be described using a simple quadratic

Tomato ( Solanum Lycopersicum )
[1] Background According to Kimura and Sinha (2008), tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is one of
the most important vegetable plants around the world, as it s produced in disparate areas like south
western America and Africa. It is also considered the second most abundant horticultural product
after the potato. Perveen et al. (2015), stated that, currently, there are thirteen recognized wild
tomatospecies which allows a great diversity in the phenotypes. The tomato (Solanum
lycopersicum) is an important source for disparate essential compounds such as folic acid,
carotenoids, and potassium. Due to its widely use; not only as a food but also as a perfect
material which can be used in research to treat serious and devastating diseases as certain types of
cancers (melanoma skin cancerand breast cancer), cardiovascular diseases and photo aging (Liu et
el., 2012). The use of it in such important researches returns to its anti oxidant activity which arises
from the carotenoids pigments it contains like alpha carotene, beta carotene, and lycopene(Dorais et
el., 2008). Tomato contains a lot of compounds which have a high benefits for health, and also for
its wonderful flavor which is used in our daily food as a flavor during cooking. The question here
is what is the compound which plays an important role in all this benefits of carotenoids? The
answer is lycopene. 1 Lycopene and its occurrence: Al Amri (2013) clarified that, lycopene is one of

The Outsiders In The Outsiders And Struggle Street
An outsider is a person or people who do not fit in society in due to their appearance and/or
behaviour. Through the use of literary and film techniques, both S.E Hinton s novel The Outsiders
and David Galloway s documentary Struggle Street portray a community of marginalised people
with sensitive people. These techniques inspire empathy from the audience, encouraging the
audience to view outsiders in a different perspective. In Struggle Street and The Outsiders, both
texts create a common theme individuality amongst a gang of outsiders through the use of
techniques. One of the techniques used by Hinton to portray characters as an outsider is the use of
colour. Colour is used to target the audience s understanding of the symbolic use... Show more

Both Galloway and Hinton focus on the individuality of their characters. Allusion is another
technique used by Hinton to represent the unique inner worlds of characters who are ostracised by
society. As Johnny and Ponyboy stay in the church, Ponyboy introduces the novel Gone With the
Wind (GWTW) to Johnny. Through the intertextual reference of GWTW, Hinton allow the
audience to apply their connotations of the novel to a new context. Although the genre of GWTW
juxtaposes with The Outsiders, Hinton connects both text due to the fact that the stereotype of the
tuff Greasers (p.15) contrasted with Johnny s unique perception of the world since he was able to
understand the meaning of GWTW better than Ponyboy. The revelation of Johnny s character
shocks Ponyboy as he stated, It amazed me (Ponyboy) how Johnny could get more meaning out if
stuff in there than I could I was supposed to be the deep one. (p. 92). In the same manner,
Galloway uses different camera shots to represent different outcasts. Similar to the Greaser s
stereotype, Mount Druitt s citizens have been stereotyped as a nest of dole bludgers and layabouts .
This statement was reinforced when the camera was at establishing shot as it shows the amount of
houses that have been destroyed by young adults. However, the director also showed that regardless
of the negative stigma, Mount Druitt will

Beowulf, By William Shakespeare
There is so much more at play in Beowulf than just heroism and monstrousness (for lack of a
better term) and their interrelation; however, a great deal of the poem s meaning derives from the
parallels between them. It is clear from his depiction in the poem Beowulf that the titular hero is
clearly drawn as a parallel to the very monsters he fights. To today s reader, the poet s attempt to
create this similarity may be off putting. After all, the meaning of monster is likely different than
that of heroto a contemporary reader. In the context of reading Beowulf, and attempting to
understand how a hero could be monstrous, is difficult. This is because the term monster is
generally associated with an evildisposition; while the term hero, is generally appointed the moral
good. But in the culture Beowulf was written in, it was possible for a hero to possess monstrous
qualities, yet separate himself from the monster s evil purposes to pursue a social good for his
community. One could compare Beowulf with a character like the Marvel comic books superhero
The Thing from Fantastic Four. Both utilize supernatural capacities of monster into a mission for
the greater good. From reviewing the many parallels drawn by the poet between the heroic and the
monstrous, supernatural capacities are not necessarily evil. The intent behind the ability to
terrorize, intimidate and destroy something determines whether or not an action is heroic or
monstrous, good or evil. Beowulf, in

East Of Eden By John Steinbeck
John Steinbeck s novel, East of Eden , discloses the answer of right and wrong, good versus evil
and overcoming sin with a simple Hebrew word Timshel , meaning thou mayest, allowing us the
freedom to make our individual decisions or choose our path in life; it s actually God s perfect
gift to everyone. In the beginning, God grants us free will so that we have the ability to love and
accept him or not. However, had God not chosen to grant us free will, we would not be human as
we know it today, for the original sinwould never have occurred. Likewise, people s inability to
experience emotions of any kind, whatsoever, would turn us into mere mundane robots, forced to
listen and answer to an authoritarian God. Lee plays an instrumental part in East of Eden, by not
only bringing into focus Timshel and its meaning to the Trask family but through his strength and
character as a whole, for without Lee East of Eden and the concept of Timshel is non existent.
Lee s character in East of Eden commences when Adam and Cathy move to California and Adam
purchases land or his Garden in Eden as Adam refers to it. Lee described in the beginning as a
Chinaman sporting a queue and only speaking in pidgin. However, the more one discovers about
Lee in the book; the more one finds this is not the case at all. Lee is Chinese American, who is
extremely knowledgeable, well spoken, well read, insightful and thought provoking. He was born

Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that affects approximately 1 in every 141 people. While
the actual act in which Celiacs was first discovered is unknown, it was first mentioned in 250 A.D.
Aretaeus of Cappodocia mentioned details of an unnamed disease where his patients were
experiencing koiliakos or suffering in the bowls. He wrote: If the stomach be irretentive of the food
and if it pass through undigested and crude, and nothing ascends into the body, we call such
persons coeliacs. Later in 1856, Francis Adams translated the observations from the original Greek
to English, and giving the disease the name Cleliacs.

experience symptoms such as abdominal bloating, chronic diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, weight

of adult patients experience diarrhea. As opposed to digestive symptoms, adults are more likely to
experience unexplained iron deficiency anemia, fatigue, bone/joint pain, arthritis, osteoporosis,
liver and biliary tract disorders, depression or anxiety, peripheral neuropathy, seizures, migraines,
missed menstrual periods, infertility or recurrent miscarriages, canker sores inside the mouth, and

If you re like me, you can t wait to get your fingers in the dirt and you want to get that old brown
lawn looking lush and green again. If you live in the western United States, and you know that
after October your lawn will become dormant and brown, the following is a 4 step process to
help renovate your lawn. The fundamentals of getting that beautiful yard begins with a spring
fertilizer; nitrate and phosphate. When you look at a bag of fertilizer, there are usually two or
three numbers on the bag, for example: 30 10 0 which means 30 parts nitrate which is always
the first number and 10 parts phosphate which is always the second number. The nitrate greens
up the lawn fast and the phosphate establishes a strong root system. This is your spring fertilizer,
which should be applied first. A good way to decide when to apply fertilizer is to do it close to the
holidays; Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor day. If you are worried about weeds, you
can use a fertilizer with a pre emergence in it. In case you are unfamiliar with this type of
product, you need to know that a pre emergence keeps seeds from germinating. It does not
differentiate between flower, vegetable or weed seeds, so you must be sure that it is not
applied in areas where you have flower or vegetable seeds. Many people like to use a weed and feed
fertilizer, thinking this will eliminate all the weeds. A weed and feed fertilizer can only be used
when weeds are actively growing because the chemical in the product has to attach itself to the
weed in order to kill it. If applied before the weeds are growing, you will have wasted your time and
your fertilizer. Memorial day fertilization means a fertilizer with less nitrate, such as a 25 5 10,
which is 25 parts of nitrate, 5 parts phosphate, and 12 parts of potassium. You can also find
something like this with a slow release iron, which is

Essay on Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton
There were many men involved in the establishment of the government, the laws regulating states
and people, and individual rights in the construction of the United States of America. Two men
stand out as instrumental to our founding principles: Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton.
Thomas Jefferson was an educated, articulate and accomplished man from a well respected family.
He had a great understanding of farming and of the relationship between man and his environment,
working diligently to balance the two for the best interest of each. He considered himself first and
always a man of the land (Jewett, 2005). His vision of the New World was of true, idealistic

As an example, in his efforts to establish a central national bank and raise desperately needed
capital for the new republic, Hamilton encountered opposition from James Madison as he could find
no basis in the Constitution for a National Bank (Tindall Shi, 2010). Thomas Jefferson further
argued that the Tenth Amendment reserves to the states and the people powers not delegated by
Congress (Tindall Shi, 2010). Hamilton insisted that the power to charter corporations was
included in the sovereignty of any government, whether or not expressly stated (Tindall Shi, 2010).
Hamilton s powers of persuasion led to the signing of the bill by President George Washington. By
doing so, in Jefferson s words, the president had opened up a boundless field of power, which in
coming years would lead to a further broadening of implied powers with the approval of the
Supreme Court (Tindall Shi, 2010).
In complete and total contrast to Hamilton, Jefferson, a Democratic Republican, took the
Constitution as the letter of the law. He feared tyranny (Tindall Shi, 2010) and believed the
educated, common man was the best candidate for governing himself. Thomas Jefferson feared that
the unlimited expansion of commerce and industry would produce a large class of propertyless

to Lennie sets George off on a rant enough to say, God a mighty, if I was alone I could live so
easy. I could go get a job an work, an no trouble. No mess at all, and when the end of the month
come I could take my fifty bucks and go into town and get whatever I want. Why, I could stay in

Without Lennie, George is lonely but he knows that he saves Lennie from his own personal

Film Festival At Antelope Valley College
Title Undetermined
When taking a look at the extensive list of films I decided to pick and choose from a date range
and genre range. I wanted to not only focus on one area of film, but also on different aspects
across the board stylistically and ...... Some of the films I chose because they were tried and true
favourites of mine, and some I chose because I had never heard of them before. I wanted to
comfort and challenge myself at the same time while taking into consideration what may work best
for the theoretical Film Festival at Antelope Valley College. When I think of Film Festivals I think
of a presentation to help entice the psyche toward a more progressive thought process. Films need
to make the audience stop and think for a little bit afterward, there needs to be a pause, a
moment of huh... , even if brief. It needs to be something different, something unusual. Film
Festivals shouldn t be for standard films, they shouldn t be for the mass marketed and well
known. So as much as I loved, Star Wars for example, I knew it was less than ideal for this
situation. This assignment also gave me the opportunity to reassess the validity of some films that
I thought I had liked but upon second analysis, might not hold in such high regard. In the end the
films I chose are Juno, High Noon, The King s Speech, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Dr.
Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, and Apocalypse Now. The
Lancaster and the Antelope Valley area in general

Walmart Negative Impact
Negative Impact of Wal Mart When Wal Mart comes to town, the local economic framework is
immediately thrown into turmoil (Wolff Mann). Almost all Wal Mart stores crush nearby
communities and local businesses. Wal Mart stores effect everyone; senior to youngsters, high
end stores to low end stores, and grocery stores to pharmacies. Wal Mart has a major impact on
the community s economy and the overall economy. The stores even have a negative impact on
their employee s as well because they give them bad benefits and low wages. Ethan Wolff Mann
states that the low prices made possible by the massive economies of scale of the giant retailer
trample many small and regional businesses. When Wal Mart comes to town the local businesses
have a hard time to make profit due to Wal Mart cutting prices of items. Whenever, the local
businesscut price Wal Mart cuts the price to match it or makes it cheaper which attract consumers.
But Wal Mart mainly effect the rural area the most because there is no store nearby so Wal Mart
knows that the community is relying on them for produce to clothing.... Show more content on

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Alice In Wonderland,...
When a person watches a movie, and a scene with dim lighting shows up on the screen, that
usually makes them feel tense and scared about what is going to happen next. Directors use
cinematic techniques to convey feelings or connect with the viewer. In the movies Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, and Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton uses flashbacks,
diegetic and non diegetic sounds, and high key and low key lighting to show a characters thoughts
or past, create the mood of a scene, create suspense, and let the viewers know about the characters
as if they personally knew each other. Tim Burton uses the flashback to show or reveal characters
thoughts or past. In the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka has frequent
flashbacks to when he was a child. All of his flashbacks involved memories of candy one way or
another, and they were sparked by either Charlie Bucket or a question the Golden Ticket
winners asked the candy maker. Wonka has a flashback to when he was a little boy trick or
treating on Halloween. The flashback also shows how his father was a dentist that hated candy
and only let Willy go trick or treating so his father could see what kinds of candy are rotting
childrens teeth each year. While Wonka was allowed to trick or treat, his father always got rid of
it by throwing it into a fire. Other flashbacks showed how Willy s love for chocolate started, by
showing how he ate pieces of candy and chocolate secretly at

Chad Research Paper
Chad is made up of over 140 different ethnic groups, whose diets are as diverse as their cultural
traditions. The Arabs of northern Chad who are nomadic or live in the capital of N Djamena eat
staples of dairy and meat, while groups in the agricultural south have a plant based diet. However,
there are certain national dishes that all Chadians share.
Grains
A thick grain porridge called boule is a common dish throughout Chad. The grain used in the north
is generally maize; in the south, millet is the primary grain consumed. Boule can also be made
of peanuts, cassava or sorghum, depending on which crop is grown locally. The porridge is
rolled into a ball and served with any number of different sauces, made of dried fish, meat or
vegetables. Crops such as potatoes, rice and sesame are more common in the agricultural south. A
sweetened peanut and millet porridge flavored with lemon is known as bouillie. A typical Northern

They are often dried, and Chadians cook them into numerous different sauces to flavor their food.
Garlic, okra and dried pimento are other flavorings found in nearly ever dish. Dates, guava and
mangoes also grow in various parts of Chad.
Meat
Goats are the most commonly raised animals in Chad; their meat is frequently eaten and
incorporated into meals. When beef is used, it is chopped and made into a tomato sauce dish
called nashif. For special occasions, Southern Chadians prepare tan oul (long sauce) out of meat,
dried fish or beans. Due to their cost, meat and fish are often dried; they re preserved for later use,
especially in the south.
Dairy and other Protein
Milk from cows and goats forms a staple of the diet of the nomads of Northern Chad. Clarified
butters and yogurts are sweetened and spiced with cardamom; they come in all varieties. Southern
Chadians consume very little dairy. They supplement their protein with peanuts and dried fish.

They had some similarities and difference when it came to the class types and soldier types. They were both extremely important because of the roles that they had, they both had to protect very important individuals. This essay will focus on, the code of conduct, weapons, training, education and apprenticeship and the comparisons between the Knights and Samurais Code of conduct The Samurais Code of Conduct is Kendo The Way of the Sword which is about discipline and mortality, this was also known as Bushido, these were like the Knights code of Chivalry. Bushido means that a true warrior must keep his loyalty, courage, respect, compassion, and honour as it is important. It was mainly about how a warrior should act and what they have do. The samurais code of conduct is extremely strict, if the samurais master or leader dies they must perform Seppuku. The Knights didn t have to do this but may kill themselves because they feel that they have no purpose. This is when the Samurai slices his sword straight through his body, if they don t want to die and perform Seppuku the samurai becomes a Ronin which is a Samurai without a master or leader. Learning styles explains the concept that every person learns differently. Assessments of learning style typically ask individuals to evaluate what sort of information presentation they prefer, and, what kind of mental activity they find most engaging, and, attractive for them. Theories about learning stylesagree that all people can be classified according to their style of learning. In this paper different theories about learning styles are reviewed briefly. At the end, Gendlin experiential theory is reviewed in detail. Learning styles VARK There is a model that use to classify some of the most common ways of individuals learning styles. • 4. Romanian Government Introduction This report targets the Romanian Government and it examines the positive and negative aspects of the free admission to museums policy which is considered to be implemented in this country. The main focus of this report is on how an increase in the demand for museum tickets will boost the economy of Romania, by allowing people to visit museums for free. Throughout the report, other examples of other countries such as the United Kingdom and Sweden will be used in order to explain how free admission to museums will have a positive impact on Romania as well. Economic functioning of the museum market, museum visitor statistics and demographic pattern for museum visits A very important factor in the market is the price mechanism:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The museum tickets demand for people from lower socio economic groups is elastic, because demand for merit/luxury goods is directly related to their income. People from higher class groups can afford merit goods and thus museum visits due to their increased income. Their demand for museum tickets is inelastic. For them, museums would be normal goods instead of luxury ones, as for them it would not be an effort to purchase museum tickets. Cross price elasticity of demand is the responsiveness of demand for one good to a change in the price of another (Sloman and Jones 53): Substitute goods, or a pair of goods which are considered by consumers to be alternatives to each other. As the price of one goes up, the demand for the other rises (Sloman and Jones 35). For example, if the price of museum tickets goes up, people would find easier to choose substitute goods such as amusement parks, cinemas or theatres. ( Frosty the Snowman was a Tin Pan Alley novelty created by Jack Nelson and Steve Rollins in 1950. Wikipedia online Encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowman ) . It was not a story of a snow woman. It was a story of a snowman. This is an overly sensitive effort to stop a word that has no offensive connotation and kill its creative and historical meaning. However, many groups claim that political correctness in society is justified in its efforts to sanitize offensive material created though years of oppressing minorities. • 12. The Power Of The Nazi Party Carl Schmitt argues that the role of myth plays an essential role in politics and that nationalism, in any confrontation, will win over socialism. Schmitt s argument can be used to justify the events that occurred in Germany during the late 20s and early 30s. However, even though nationalism did play a key role in post hyperinflation Germany, it is far too simplistic to say that the only motive of such events was nationalism. Events like the Beer hall putsch or the growth and success of the Nazi partywere not solely because of nationalism. There were other factors that contributed to these events such as the fact that Germany was in a terrible situation to begin with. Germany was in chaos after WW1, and when the Great Depression followed, unemployment, inflation and food shortage increased even more. Such events led to the growth of the Nazi party as Germans felt like Hitler represented what many of them felt hatred of the republic. The Nazi party rose significatively because of their usage of propaganda, their anti Semitism, their violence, their hatred of the Weimar republicand also because of opportunism. One way the Nazi party grew immensely was through their usage of propaganda. With such propaganda, the Nazi intended to appeal their audiences with what they wanted to hear. Their propaganda had a lot to do with their electoral success in 1930 since it was planned accordingly to their audience, which mostly directed to workers. According to Richard J. Evans, in ... So as far as roid rage goes, if a person acts angry and full of rage while they are using steroids, there is a pretty good chance that they exhibited the same type of behavior before they put anything extra into their body. • 14. Analysis Of All That Heaven Allows The development and implementation of 3D in popular cinema shares many similarities with the introduction of color into films. If we examine the histories of both technologies, Moana s color analogue is Douglas Sirk s melodrama All That Heaven Allows. In terms of timeline, both come at a point when the art form is still in between the astonishment and absorption phases of using the technology. Though All That Heaven Allows was made around fifteen years after the first technicolorfilms, the movie is still designed to have the audience notice its beautifully colored shots. Most of the films landscapes feel oversaturated and doctored. These exterior shots often feel more like paintings to appreciate rather than providing context for the film s interior shots. At the same time, color doesn t define the story and characters in the same way as early Technicolor films like Michael Curtiz s The Adventures of Robin Hood. In those instances color acted as a constant signal of where we were in the narrative, and formed strong associations between characters and individual colors. In All That Heaven Allows, the color schemes don t drastically change to suit the narrative, but they re still far from fading into the background. Sirk uses color more as an emotional cue, nudging the audience into feeling the drama of the film. Ultimately, All That Heaven Allows is a film made in the liminal period between astonishment and absorption of color. Moana uses 3D in a similar manner to All That Heaven Allows, as a noticeable but ultimately auxiliary narrative tool. In earlier digital 3D films, negative and positive parallax were used to create discrete new worlds. Avatar and Coraline were crafted to feel entirely different when the protagonists ventured into a different environment, similar to the color phases of Robin Hood. Moana, on the other hand, uses 3D in a way that pervades the entire film. Rather than build new worlds, Moana uses 3D for the emotional effect, bringing characters and objects towards and away from the audience to make us feel. Though the purpose of the film is not to showcase 3D technology, we can t help but notice stuff flying at us during dynamic sequences like How Far I ll Go. Rather than switching ... Nose Cone Designs Lab Report The experiment conducted was to observe how changing factors, including nose cone designs and volume of water would affect a water rockets maximum vertical displacement and the forces involved. It was hypothesised that the round cone would travel a greater distance in comparison to the square and pointed cones. Another assumption that was made was the water rocket with the 750 ml volume of water would be the most effective and would travel the greatest distance in comparison to the 500ml and 1000ml volumes of water. As seen from the results collected, it suggests that these hypotheses were supported and matched the expected outcomes with experimental errors and uncertainties. Table 1 illustrates the collected measurements for max height reached(m), max velocity reached(m /s), acceleration (m/s^2) and drag subjected on the water rocket with differing nose cone designs. These results show the round cone had an acceleration of 25.22 m/s^2, consequently, it had the least amount of drag of 19.54N. Rockets apply this theory as once they are propelled by the initial thrust it will continue to move in an upward motion until the direct force is stopped, then it will follow a path identical to that of a projectile motion, in which the gravity acts to return the rocket back to the ground. Through the use of literary and film techniques, both S.E Hinton s novel The Outsiders and David Galloway s documentary Struggle Street portray a community of marginalised people with sensitive people. These techniques inspire empathy from the audience, encouraging the audience to view outsiders in a different perspective. In Struggle Street and The Outsiders, both texts create a common theme individuality amongst a gang of outsiders through the use of techniques. One of the techniques used by Hinton to portray characters as an outsider is the use of colour. Colour is used to target the audience s understanding of the symbolic use... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both Galloway and Hinton focus on the individuality of their characters. Allusion is another technique used by Hinton to represent the unique inner worlds of characters who are ostracised by society. As Johnny and Ponyboy stay in the church, Ponyboy introduces the novel Gone With the Wind (GWTW) to Johnny. Through the intertextual reference of GWTW, Hinton allow the audience to apply their connotations of the novel to a new context. Although the genre of GWTW juxtaposes with The Outsiders, Hinton connects both text due to the fact that the stereotype of the tuff Greasers (p.15) contrasted with Johnny s unique perception of the world since he was able to understand the meaning of GWTW better than Ponyboy. The revelation of Johnny s character shocks Ponyboy as he stated, It amazed me (Ponyboy) how Johnny could get more meaning out if stuff in there than I could I was supposed to be the deep one. • 31. Beowulf, By William Shakespeare There is so much more at play in Beowulf than just heroism and monstrousness (for lack of a better term) and their interrelation; however, a great deal of the poem s meaning derives from the parallels between them. It is clear from his depiction in the poem Beowulf that the titular hero is clearly drawn as a parallel to the very monsters he fights. To today s reader, the poet s attempt to create this similarity may be off putting. After all, the meaning of monster is likely different than that of heroto a contemporary reader. In the context of reading Beowulf, and attempting to understand how a hero could be monstrous, is difficult. This is because the term monster is generally associated with an evildisposition; while the term hero, is generally appointed the moral good. But in the culture Beowulf was written in, it was possible for a hero to possess monstrous qualities, yet separate himself from the monster s evil purposes to pursue a social good for his community. One could compare Beowulf with a character like the Marvel comic books superhero The Thing from Fantastic Four. Both utilize supernatural capacities of monster into a mission for the greater good. From reviewing the many parallels drawn by the poet between the heroic and the monstrous, supernatural capacities are not necessarily evil. The intent behind the ability to terrorize, intimidate and destroy something determines whether or not an action is heroic or monstrous, good or evil. Beowulf, in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

East Of Eden By John Steinbeck John Steinbeck s novel, East of Eden , discloses the answer of right and wrong, good versus evil and overcoming sin with a simple Hebrew word Timshel , meaning thou mayest, allowing us the freedom to make our individual decisions or choose our path in life; it s actually God s perfect gift to everyone. In the beginning, God grants us free will so that we have the ability to love and accept him or not. However, had God not chosen to grant us free will, we would not be human as we know it today, for the original sinwould never have occurred. Likewise, people s inability to experience emotions of any kind, whatsoever, would turn us into mere mundane robots, forced to listen and answer to an authoritarian God. Lee plays an instrumental part in East of Eden, by not only bringing into focus Timshel and its meaning to the Trask family but through his strength and character as a whole, for without Lee East of Eden and the concept of Timshel is non existent. Lee s character in East of Eden commences when Adam and Cathy move to California and Adam purchases land or his Garden in Eden as Adam refers to it. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you re like me, you can t wait to get your fingers in the dirt and you want to get that old brown lawn looking lush and green again. If you live in the western United States, and you know that after October your lawn will become dormant and brown, the following is a 4 step process to help renovate your lawn. The fundamentals of getting that beautiful yard begins with a spring fertilizer; nitrate and phosphate. When you look at a bag of fertilizer, there are usually two or three numbers on the bag, for example: 30 10 0 which means 30 parts nitrate which is always the first number and 10 parts phosphate which is always the second number. The nitrate greens up the lawn fast and the phosphate establishes a strong root system. This is your spring fertilizer, which should be applied first. A good way to decide when to apply fertilizer is to do it close to the holidays; Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor day. If you are worried about weeds, you can use a fertilizer with a pre emergence in it. In case you are unfamiliar with this type of product, you need to know that a pre emergence keeps seeds from germinating. It does not differentiate between flower, vegetable or weed seeds, so you must be sure that it is not applied in areas where you have flower or vegetable seeds. Many people like to use a weed and feed fertilizer, thinking this will eliminate all the weeds. A weed and feed fertilizer can only be used when weeds are actively growing because the chemical in the product has to attach itself to the weed in order to kill it. If applied before the weeds are growing, you will have wasted your time and your fertilizer. Memorial day fertilization means a fertilizer with less nitrate, such as a 25 5 10, which is 25 parts of nitrate, 5 parts phosphate, and 12 parts of potassium. As an example, in his efforts to establish a central national bank and raise desperately needed capital for the new republic, Hamilton encountered opposition from James Madison as he could find no basis in the Constitution for a National Bank (Tindall Shi, 2010). Thomas Jefferson further argued that the Tenth Amendment reserves to the states and the people powers not delegated by Congress (Tindall Shi, 2010). Hamilton insisted that the power to charter corporations was included in the sovereignty of any government, whether or not expressly stated (Tindall Shi, 2010). Hamilton s powers of persuasion led to the signing of the bill by President George Washington. By doing so, in Jefferson s words, the president had opened up a boundless field of power, which in coming years would lead to a further broadening of implied powers with the approval of the Supreme Court (Tindall Shi, 2010). In complete and total contrast to Hamilton, Jefferson, a Democratic Republican, took the Constitution as the letter of the law.
