What Changes Have Happened Since 1945 In Technology
Essay pop culture technology
In this essay I will cover the changes that have happened since 1945 in technology and secondly I will
cover the influences that changed technology and thirdly I will talk about the positives and negatives
of the advances of technology.
What changes have happened since 1945 in technology? The main form of household communications
device most people had in their homes was the radio to listen to music and also dance to it any time
they wanted even when doing chores in the house as many people I know still do not to mention my
mother, she always listens to mix 102.3 when she is doing chores and also when she is helping with
my homework which is really important and she always turns up the music when it s her favorite
songs . Televisions existed in 1945, but they were generally very expensive and the programming
options were very few. In back to the future which is a movie that was made in the 80s I saw a scene
when Marty Mcfly was travelling to the past and then when Marty was in his mother s house they
bought a new television set which they said was very expensive and was in black and white . The
televisions exploded tremendously in popularity in the 50s and 70s and know in the twenty first
century people are buying more than one television in their house.
As years and years went on, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Animal Testing Uses
Animals are appropriate research subjects because they are similar to humans in many ways.
(procon.org) They are essential for allowing scientists to learn more about human biology and health,
and for creating and developing new medicines. (yourgenome.org) Animal research helps save and
preserve lives. Animals themselves gain from the results of animal testing. Because vaccines were
tested on animals would have died from rabies. Infections, hepatitis viruses, and canine pro virus.
Animals are used to develop medical treatments, determine the toxicity of medication, and check the
safety of the products which are destined for human use. The research animals are cared for by
veterinarians, and animal health technicians to ensure their wellbeing ... Show more content on

The US Food and Drug Administration endorses the use of animal tests on cosmetics to ensure the
safety of the product and ingredients. Mosquito repellant which helps protect people from Malaria and
other dangerous illnesses, must undergo toxicological tests in order to be sold in the United States.
(procom.org) It has been estimated that millions of animals per year are used to test the safety of
household cleaners, pesticides, industrial chemicals, food additives, packing materials, drugs and
vaccines for both people and animals, and even the food eaten by other animals. The use of animals to
test cosmetics and other care products has declined in recent years, a wide array of non animal skin
and eye irritation tests have been developed to determine the effects of short term exposure to new
ingredients. The pressure from the public has played a major role in these alternatives.
In conclusion, animal research is important to saving the lives of many people. Animal testing is used
to determine how much of a drug is being absorbed into the blood. Animal testing enabled the
development of countless lifesaving treatments for both humans and animals, that there is no
alternative method for researching a completely living organism and that strictly regulates and
prevents the mistreatment of animals in the laboratory. (prezi.com) Animals should be used in
laboratories to continue to find advancements

Roe Vs Wade Research Paper
Ever since I can remember abortion has been a very controversial issue to talk about. Roe v. Wade was
a Supreme Court landmark case on this controversial issue. This case was the beginning of a national
debate that continues to date. This case took place in Texas, before the case the law said that unless
you need to save the woman s life because they are endangered then abortion is illegal. The decision
in this case made it legal for women to decide. To this day people are fighting against this. Pro choice
are people who are pro having the choice to have an abortion or not. There are a lot of people who
would just like to make an abortion illegal. I am pro choice and thanks to Roe v. Wade the right for a
woman to decide what she wants to do with her own body was fought against the U.S. Supreme court.
Instead of ending the debate of abortion this decision only made it worse. People who were against it
multiplied and strengthened their groups. As R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of Southern Baptist ...

Nixon never publicly commented on the decision but when the Nixon tapes were release you could
hear that he said sometimes abortion are necessary, although things concerned him about it. Other
presidents who have supported it and continue to do so are Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack
Obama. In the 2008 elections it was revealed that Normal L. McCorvey had endorsed Republican
candidate Ron Paul. McCorvey said I support Ron Paul for president because we share the same goal,
that of overturning Roe v Wade (Ertelt, Steven L.). Who would have thought that the original Roe
would then want to overturn the case. Norma L. McCorvey became a pro life advocate in 1995. She
does not want women using this as a form of birth control she says women have come up to her
thanking her for their five or six abortions. This is why states like Texas have taken it upon them to

Analysis Of Nella Larsen s Passing, Issues Of Race,...
In Nella Larsen s Passing, issues of race, identity, and privilege are explored. Irene Redfield, the
African American wife of a doctor, is herself passing in the Drayton Hotel s rooftop garden when she
comes across Clare Kendry, a childhood friend. Clare is passing as white in her daily life with her
husband believing that she is a white woman. Although Irene does not approve of Clare s passing, and
tension exists among the characters, Irene grows to feel sympathetic for Clare and becomes closer to
her. The tension that exists between the two women is suggestive of another form of passing and
sublimated desire. Through the novel, Larsen demonstrates that passing manifests.
By developing unsteady characters, Larsen communicates how simple it is to escape one s
appreciation of themself. Clare breaks the tragic mulatto stereotype, but never has the chance to
identify to a particular race. While she passes as white, Clare still seeks comfort from her friend Irene
who is from the African American community. In Irene s mind, Clare has become a mysterious double
of herself due to their contrasting lives they lead. Irene is obsessive and envious of Clare. She destroys
her own self by psychologically ruining herself, thinking that Clare is having an affair with her
husband, Brian. While openly discussing racial passing, the book also secretly analyzes gender
passing. Irene s connection with Clare is based on desire, jealousy, and obsession. Both Clare and
Irene fail to try to

Self-Identity In Ayn Rand s Anthem
Self identity, this is a word that is sewn into the fibers of our very being, but in all reality the true
definition is unknown. This word means the complete opposite of whatever the world has decided for
the meaning, because quite frankly in the end self identity does not revolve around any one self , but
the contrary but works to benefit the masses. Once one discovers who they are they are able to find
their gifts to bless others live and potentially bless them with the gift of identifying themselves. When
we discover ourselves this only leads to discoveries that can provide help or assistance to the world
and other individuals. In the book Anthem by Ayn Rand it is taught by the main character that you
must discover yourself and identify your strengths and weaknesses so that you may prove to the world
that you are beneficial. We learn of a male, the age is unknown, who is looked down upon by his
fellow men who believe that people with intelligence are undesirable and a burden to the rest of the
population. Throughout the book this boy grows though his brain and curiosity grew quicker. So he
was breaking rules and laws left and right. It was then when he discovered that his brain was able to ...

But even the slightest differences in all of these define and shape every personality that crawls the
earth today. It is our differences that make us great. Kurt Vonnegut perfectly depicts how we should
praise others for their differences and build them, rather degrade them for their strengths. In Vonnegut
s short story Harrison Bergeron we see the consequences of destroying what makes people into a
someone. In this story the smart and intelligent thinkers, the strong, authentic, graceful, tall, and
beautiful were all put down and disable to prevent any to feel like they were greater than the other.

Essay on Hunger
Unrelenting Hunger Hunger , by Lan Samantha Chang, is a cautionary tale of an immigrant Chinese
family in this complex story about unrelenting hunger, oppression, love and loss. Narrated by Min; the
deeply unhappy and obedient wife of Tian, a gifted violinist, finds work as a music teacher in New
York, but ultimately fails to land a permanent job at the school. Driven by personal failure and his
unrelenting hunger for the violin Tian cruelly forces his two daughters, Anna and Ruth to play the
violin, so they can follow in his footsteps. Tian s inability to separate himself from his violin ends up
destroying his family. Chang uses Tian s obsessive hunger for the violin as a symbol of his identity,
showing us that we must be careful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this sacrifice he sees his violin as his main identity; he is a violinist, and he must honor
that at all costs. He can t allow himself to enjoy anything else in life for fear that he sacrificed
everything for nothing. The great irony here is that this all consuming obsession with the violin leaves
him bereft of any time or desire to spend time with his wife and children, unless it involves the violin,
which ultimately causes them to reject him too. When Tian s own dream dies he ruthlessly pushes
music on his daughters in order to allow him to live vicariously through them. Anna, the oldest, tries
to win her father s love through the violin but ends up having a mediocre sense of pitch (54) and Tian
can no longer stand to teach Anna the violin. Min notices when he looked at Anna he saw nothing but
his own struggles; he hated her difficulties, but he especially hated his own. (55); this immense self
hatred, and lack of an identity outside of the violin, causes him to viciously force Ruth to become a
violinist. Despite her lack of interest and the fact that she cries during every practice, Tian does not
care as he sees promise in her. He yells at Ruth Do you understand? From now on, you work. You
practice every day (60) to which Ruth responds No no no no (60). It does not seem to matter to Tian

The History Of Animals Being Domesticated
The history of animals being domesticated starts as far back as 20,000 years ago, when large mammals
such as bison roamed the tundra of Europe and Asia. They were hunted widely by two groups of
hunters, both smaller and weaker than the bison, but both had sufficient developed social systems to
allow them to hunt and kill in packs. These two hunters were the humans and the wolves. These two
groups of hunters are surprisingly similar. Both are family based and led by a dominant male whose
female partner has authority second to his. All of the members are friendly towards each other, but
extremely suspicious of outsiders. All members are also protective of any newborn and young in the
pack, and both are good at interpreting the moods of others, by facial expression or other forms of
body language. Though humans and wolves started out competing for the same prey, but soon realized
the advantages for both of them in teaming up. On the side of the wolves, human ingenuity and the use
of weapons mean a share in a greater number of kill, and maybe a taste of bigger pretty they couldn t
take down alone, such as mammoths. On the side of humans, the speed of the wolves and ferocity is
equivalent to a new weapon altogether. The partnership between the two is natural. People love to
nurture an abandoned young animal, and a wolf cub is adapted to learn the rules of a hierarchical
human society. For a species like the wolf to become domesticated, it must be willing to breed in

Management Functions And Functions Of Management
Essay
Management is viewed as a critical part in any business or corporate commercial enterprises. Group
assignments provide a useful platform for understanding the management functions that consist of
planning, organizing, leading, and controlling (POLC). I totally do agree with this statement.
Management of groups is actually the key to all of these P O L C functions. Any management can
accomplish and succeed objectives through the organizing execution of these four functions
(123helpme.com, 2015). Management involves coordinating and controlling a gathering of one or
more individuals or elements with the end goal of planning and blending them towards finishing
expansive, organization or office, or perhaps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If it is done efficiently, one can reduce much the necessary effort and time of achieving the goal. Plans
are similar to maps. When a plan is followed, one possibly can always observe how much one has
progressed towards the goal and what s left to reach the destination. Also a person should know where
they stand. This helps in making good decisions. Another important thing I grasped from the group
work was the 80/20 rule. It indicates that 80 percent of one s respective outcomes originate from 20
percent of one s respective inputs. The second management function is organizing. Organizing means
relationship between persons, work and resources used to achieve the common goals. The principle
purpose connected with being organized is to establish successful lines connected with responsibility
along with authority designed. Leading is the third management function. Leading involves the actual
social as well as informal types of influence that can be used to be able to inspire activity taken by
others. If managers are competent leaders, their subordinates are going to be enthusiastic in relation to
exerting effort to get organizational goals. A lot of contributions have been made understanding this
specific function of management. Controlling is the fourth and the final of the management functions.
It involves building standards to help measure functionality, measuring actual performance, comparing
performance and taking

The Python Of The Kingdom Animalia
Topic 1: Context
By Selah Green
Topic 1A) The Python of the Kingdom Animalia, Phylum Chordata, Class Reptilia, Order Squamata,
Family Phythonidae is vertebrate with several diverse species (spp.) (Banks, 2004).
Topic 1B) The Python spp. is classified with Kingdom Animalia because they re heterotrophs and
exhibit motility. The Python spp. descendent from a chordata because they have a spine and backbone
developed from the notochord and dorsal nerve cord. The Python spp. is cold blooded species and
covered in scales. They have embryos or eggs that are covered by an amniotic membrane. All
phylogenetics are consistent with their relationship to lizards around 150 million years ago in the late
Jurassic Period (Strauss, 2016).
Topic 1C) There are different species of Pythons so their environments vary. The P. molurus bivittatus
inhabit Southeast Asia in jungles and grassy marshes (Society, 2014). The P. regius lives in Africa
adapting into farmland or grassland savannah. Most Python spp. are native to parts of Asia and Africa
(Gorzula, 1997). Some of the Python spp. swim and water features are important to their environment
such as the P. bivittatus. Juvenile P. bivittatus spent most of the time inhabiting trees but as adults, they
increase in size and weight will shift their habitat to the ground (Society, 2014). P. anchietae inhabits
rocks on mountain terrains and plains with shrubs (M.A, 2010).

The George Hotel s Prospects for the future
The George Hotel is a controversial project that will bring much needed rejuvenation to a lacking
lower Gibsons. The George though being battled by many will bring much needed employment
opportunities to the sunshine coast. This expansion to our waterfront will also bring with it a boost in
tourism and keep the bustling culture of lower Gibsons alive. With this project comes heavy
opposition from people all over the Sunshine Coast. Many people feel that the design of this project is
not aesthetically pleasing and will not fit in with the quaint style of our town. I would like to pose the
question what is the style of this town? Is there a style of architecture that is recognizable feature of
Gibsons or does the the differentiation of all buildings make Gibsons unique. One other problem that
has been posed is the breaking of the OCP height restrictions. The proposed height for The George is
25 metres which is approximately 8 stories, double the current OCP restrictions. People worry that if
we were to change the rules for one building would other developers run in and try slip under the rules
too. For this town to further flourish we need to think about changing some of the rules of the OCP to
allow projects that will help further our community culturally, and economically. Economically
speaking The George will provide many full and part time jobs for residents of the Sunshine Coast. A

The government will take cuts from the amount of power the British army has, this means that the

Tristars are approaching the end of their services lives and the C 130 fleet will be retired 10 years
earlier than planned this will save money on if the C 130 fleet gets damaged and the aircraft will take
its place because it was cheaper to make and it can be used for multi use purposes. .
Royal navy
The government has also cut back on the amount power the Royal Navy for example The Royal Navy
flagship aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal will be decommissioned almost immediately rather than in
2014 this mean that they can t afford to use these because of the cuts that the government are doing to
the Royal Navy. The Joint Force Harrier aircraft will be retired this means that the joint force harrier
aircraft is not needed anymore and something new would take its places. Both of these measures will
help save money for the cost of the Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carriers.
Also the cuts on helicopter will be made for example Either HMS Ocean or HMS Illustrious will not
be used anymore, whichever is not capable as a helicopter carrier.
The Royal Navy will delay making more ships and planes to help save money for example
Replacement of the UK s nuclear deterrent based on Royal Navy Vanguard class submarines will be

Examples Of Stereotypes In The Return Of Jahar
Although the use of animation inherently calls for more caricatured characters, Disney s Aladdin and
The Return of Jafar are full of harmful middle eastern Arab stereotypes. Almost all the characters,
save for Aladdin and Jasmine, who are the most white out of almost all of the other Arabs (they have
middle class American accents, are of a lighter skin tone) are painted as the Violent Arab, for example;
the shopkeeper attempts to slice Iago for attempting to steal some grapes. The villains are painted as
stereotypically faceless/ uniform Arabs that blunder around stupidly and are ridiculously superstitious
(in The Return of Jafar they immediately assume that a box is mystically floating, rather than being
lifted from below). On top of all that, there is the obvious stereotyping present in the opening song of
Aladdin, Oh, I come from a land, from a faraway place/ Where the caravan camels roam/ Where it s
flat and immense/ And the heat is intense/ It s barbaric, but hey, it s home . The description of the
Middle East being totally barbaric and almost mystical ( a faraway place ) is harmful, especially
through song, as children will repeat the lyrics without a second thought, reinforcing the stereotypes
they hear and see. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

animated films, especially if they are produced by Disney, will include more stereotypes in an attempt

as they depict the Arab characters in the harmful ways previously

Main Points, Objections And Significance And Definition Of...
Definition of Germplasm:
Germplasm is the living genetic resources such as seeds or tissue that is maintained for the purpose of
animal and plant breeding, preservation, and other research uses.
Weismann s Germ Plasm Theory, Main Points, Objections and Significance:
Germplasm theory was proposed by August Weismann (1834 1914) who was a neo Darwinian
biologist. He proposed this theory in his book Das Keimplasma.
According to the Weismann the variations are of two types. Some are congenital i.e. organisms are
born with them and others are acquired during the life time of a particular plant or animal. The
acquired character, was with the latter type of variations, Weismann was very much concerned. To
explain that acquired character could not be inherited Weismann introduced the theory of Germplasm.
The main points of germplasm theory are the following:
The main concept of theory is that living bodies are made up of fundamentally different types of
material the germplasm (protoplasm of germ cell e.g. sperm and ova) and the somatoplasm (
protoplasm of somatic or body cell). The germplasm remain in the organism and responsible for the
development of reproductive parts, secluded and sealed from the somatoplasm which grow ... Show

According to this concept, the stimulus affects simultaneously the germplasm and the soma (body).
He proposed that internal stimulus affects germs in such a way that it results inheritable variations. For
him the stimulus are nourishment which is necessary for determinants and biophores. The determinant
which get better nourishment are fast and stronger than those who get less nourishment. Consequently
the determinant would produce weaker parts or stronger organ in organisms. For Weismann there is a
struggle for existence between better and less nourished, that will cause appearance and disappearance

Risk Management Within The Homeland Security Enterprise
Risk Management within the Homeland Security Enterprise Risk has been defined as the likelihood of
a specific outcome and the results or consequences of that specific outcome (Masse, O Neil, Rollins,
2007). Risk is inherent to every facet of life. There are risks involved in the mundane of driving down
the road or walking on a sidewalk. Certain factors are added which increases the risk of conducting
these mundane tasks. For example, driving at a high rate of speed during a rain storm exponentially
increases the risk that one will lose control of the vehicle and probably wreck. Assessing and
managing risk is also a part of everyday life though most people do not realize that they are actually
using these tools to mitigate risks. In the previous example, one would assess the risks of travelling at
a high rate of speed during a rainstorm and manage that risk by slowing down to a rate of speed that is
commensorate with effects of the rainstorm in order to avoid hydroplaning. Thus, the risks have been
mitigated and the probability of losing control of the vehicle is significantly decreased or eliminated.
The principals of identifying risks, assessing risks, and managing risks are used throughout the
homeland security enterprise to mitigate risks posed to the public, critical infrastructure, and
ultimately national security. According to the Department of Homeland Security s (DHS) (2010)
Quadreannial Homeland Security Review Report, homeland security is about

Emerson s Divinity School Address
Emerson and the DSA : A Reception Study Analysis
Delivered to the Harvard graduating class in June 1838 by Ralph Waldo Emerson, the Divinity School
Address sparked outrage amongst the church, its leaders and various critics throughout the nineteenth
century. Within critic reviews of the address, Emerson s words were deemed distasteful and
unintelligible and those same critics believed that the writer exposed himself as an atheist and an
infidel. In researching the reception of the Divinity School Address, I encountered not only widely
known and hostile criticism from Andrews Norton, but positive appraisals from writers such as
Orestes Brownson. I discovered that the overall reception was a representation of the controversy
centered on the topic of individualism versus religious collectiveness or community. Such controversy
is illustrated by the polarizing views of the address, despite the writer s intentions to not dismiss
religion, but encourage the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

nineteenth century reader, which led to the confusion in understanding why individual freedom within
religion was considered distasteful. However, in reading the variety of reviews, my understanding has

The Colonization Of New England
If you wanted to record the beginning of English colonist history in North America, you would have to
begin with the settlements of New England. The English colonists had to endure the ecological
challenges of New England, oppose to the conditions they were accustomed to in England. They also
had to coexist with the original inhabitants of the lands the Native American Indians for information
on techniques of agriculture for proper sustainability, and for trade pur poses. English colonists had to
obtain knowledge from Native Americans along with learning from trial and error to master the
ecological challenges they faced while establishing settlements within New England. Coping with
environmental challenges to facilitate survival on the day to day basis was the first hurdle the English
colonists had to overcome. The ultimate goal of the colonists was after mastering the terrain of New
England was to distinguish the natural commod ities of the region to obtain maximum production of
resources for profit to themselves and the mother country of Great Britain.
Before English colonists settled into the New England area the only human inhabitants that could ve

Tourism Effects on Machu Picchu
High in the Andean mountain range, nestled on a ridge between two mountains high above the valley

1400 kilometers south of the Equator on the eastern slope of the Peruvian Andes. The site lies near the
head waters of the Amazon River and is on the ridge between two prominent mountain peaks –
Machu Picchu and Hauyna Picchu – about 500 meters above the valley bottom (Wright and Kenneth,

There is also the impending problem that with the increase of tourism in Machu Picchu there will also
be an increase in the crowding and congestion on the roads, footpaths, and in the narrow streets of the
site. In addition, tourists also compete with residents for available services and facilities (a prime
example of this is the local train service in Peru, in which many backpackers tend to use the local train
service rather than the much more luxurious and expensive tourist train). An increase in visitors to the
area will also lead to an increase in the crime in the area. Finally, a big social/community impact from
tourism has been the desecration of burial sites and the removal and display of human remains from
Machu Picchu to further stimulate the tourist industry, which has ultimately led to the destruction of
the Indian spiritual heritage. (Barcelona Field Studies Centre S.L., Machu Picchu: Impact of Tourism)
Environmental Costs and Benefits The environmental costs to increased tourism to Machu Picchu out

The White American Dream Research Paper
The White American Dream
After being arrested, African Americans are 33% more likely than whites to be detained while facing a
felony trial in New York. The amount of African Americans killed solely based of skin color
throughout history is astonishing from lynching to police brutality. The American dream was
something everyone coveted because it was the opportunity of success and prosperity in society. This
included living in the suburbs with a family with a successful job. For many this was available
through hard work and diligence but if you were African American during the 1950s it was a different
story. The American dream was unattainable by African Americans in the United States because of
racism and prejudice.

Basic Principles Of The Diet
DUKAN DIET BASIC PRINCIPLES OF THE DIET: In our society, there are a lot of different types
of diet. Some of them are not healthy, but some diets bring nourish nutrient to our body to help our
metabolism work well. Dukan diet is created by Dr Pierre Dukan in 2000. He discovered this diet
based on natural protein method. There are 100 foods on this plan including 72 types come from
animal sources and 28 types come from plant sources. The method proposes that dieter don t have to
deduct the amount of food that they eat regularly as long as the meal contains of these foods. Dukan
diet is a combination of dieting plan and exercise plan which limit the carbohydrate sources, increase
the lean protein sources and force the body work out to burn fat. In order to get the best results from
this diet, you should avoid certain nutrients are only available from the industrial processing; you also
choose the organic food for choice. Through out the research, Dr. Pierre has found out 100 types of
foods that are essential for our body, rich in proteins and low in fat and carbohydrate during the four
phase of the diet. For protein, this diet prefers to have lean beef, pork, eggs, poultry or fish, such as
beef tenderloin, filet mignon, pork loin roast, reduced fat bacon, fat free turkey, and chicken sausages.
For fish, there are catfish, monkfish, and tuna. Seafood includes crab, crawfish, some vegetarian
proteins required, for example, tofu, and soy foods. In order to enrich the diets, fats

Argumentative Essay On Human Cloning
Human cloning is threatening our society. Yes it has benefits but with these benefits there s a risk. First
and foremost i disagree with cloning because, it hasn t developed yet and it can take a lot of tries
before getting a human being to this earth. On the other hand, animals have been cloned since the
beginning of this technology. They have a 70% chance of being born safely but that is not the same for
humans the percentage to clone a human is 20% to 40% which is not even past birth. There has been a
lot of failure on cloning but maybe one day it will be perfected. But over the years cloning has
increased at a more stable rate. This new cloning technology can really wrong because, you re
basically make a robot just in a human form factor. One good thing about cloning is that they can
clone certain organ cells and damaged tissue. But to do something like that it s 50,000 dollars which
only certain people can afford. That s why is not extremely common to hear someone say that they
have cloned a tissue or an organ. However cloning is not cheap it s expensive but is it worth it?
Favorably, it all depends on what you would like to clone and does it have a value to your day to day
life. Supposing that you want to clone your dog or cat the estimated price is from 25,000 thousand
dollars and it can reach higher pricing. People who have the money to do these sort of things must
have been with that pet for a long time and that pet means a lot to them. However when you re cloning
a pet yes they are going to have the same characteristics as the one who passed away. Although it won
t feel the same as having your original pet. In my opinion people are doing this because it s an outlet
for them to forget how their pet and pretend like it s still there with them. Part of these people don t
even think on what they are doing because they are so inlove with their animals. They should really
think about cloning pets and them make a decision. But if it means a lot to them then they should do it
at there own risk. Know in an article named What happened to cloning? They are stating that back in
the 2000 s they thought of banning cloning but politicians could not agree at what stage of
development cloning should be

Destiny Of The Republic Analysis
Destiny of the Republic was a story of the life and death of James A. Garfield. It was told in the
viewpoints of many different characters throughout the story but mainly in the viewpoint of James
Garfield, Charles Guiteau, and Alexander Graham Bell. Garfield was the 20th president of the United
States. His presidency was cut short when he was assassinated by Guiteau, and later Bell attempted to
Garfield make a recovery to continue his presidency. James Garfield was born into poverty on
November 19, 1831, in a log cabin in Ohio. Eliza, James s mother, wanted nothing more than a good
education for her son and he went to school for a while but then left to work at the canals in honor of
his father. He had a close call with death one late night when he almost drowned, this gave him the
realization that god had saved him for something greater than working on a canal. He went on to get a
better education and became a passionate and determined student. To pay for tuition Garfield worked
as a janitor and was later moved up to assistant professor. He wanted to be the top in his class. He was
accepted into Williams college an was one of the top five in his class. He graduated with honors and
returned to the Eclectic Institute where he became the school s president. Shortly after he married
Lucretia Rudolph and would later have six children. Ending his career in academics Garfield ran for
senator in 1859. About a year later James joined the Union in the Civil war. He was made a

A Report On Auto Maintenance
When it comes to auto maintenance, your tyres are one of, if not the most, vital components of your
vehicle. You might be thinking, Harjeev, everyone knows this already , and you re not wrong. Yet,
despite this being largely common knowledge amongst drivers, a majority of auto owners across the
world tend to delay or neglect their maintenance altogether. According to TyreSafe s 2015 Tyre Safety
Month study 65% of UK drivers (out of 102,000 tyres they surveyed) needed to check their treads
more often. Not only does regular service and maintenance reduce your service costs, as scheduled
maintenance outweighs large repairs, it impacts your safety. TyreSafe s study painted a potentially
frightening image of UK roads with over a quarter of tyres (27.3%) having an illegal tread depth of
1.6mm or less. That s 10 million tyres in 2015 alone that were potentially illegal! If that didn t catch
your attention, maybe the penalty will. In the UK, you could face a £2500 fine and three penalty
points per illegal tyre on your vehicle! Imagine how much you could have saved when comparing the
price of new tyres against potentially £10000 in fines. Let s delve into why you cannot put off your
tyre care. If you aren t maintaining your tyres, expect to see a decline in your vehicle s braking,
cornering and gas mileage while your CO2 emissions go up. Just think, neglecting your tyres affects
everyone s safety, your wallet and the environment in one fell swoop! Let s pretend that wasn t

Biography on Charles Dickens
This greatest of Victorian writers was born in Landport, Portsmouth, on February 7, 1812. His father
John worked as a clerk in the Navy Payroll Office in Portsmouth. The elder Dickens was transfered
several times, first to London, then to Chatham, and finally, in 1822, back to London, where the
family lived in Camden Town. John Dickens was constantly in debt, and in 1824 he was imprisoned in
Marshalsea debtor s prison (Southwark). Charles was forced to leave school at the age of 12 and go to
work in a bootblack factory to help support the Dickens family. It was his personal experience of
factory work and the living conditions of the poor that created in Dickens the compassion which was
to mark his literary works such as Oliver Twist. Dickens was released from the purgatory of Warren s
Blacking Factory when his father received a legacy from a relative, and could finally pay his debts and
be set free from Marshalsea. Charles went to Wellington House Academy for two years, then took
work at Gray s Inn as a clerk. Dickens worked as a Parliamentary reporter before finally moving on to
The Morning Chronicle in 1834. His first published work appeared in Monthly Magazine in December
1833, and he followed it with nine more, penning his name as Boz to the last two articles. The
pseudonym Boz was drawn from a pet name for his younger brother when they were children. In 1836
his articles were compiled and published as Sketches by Boz . Shortly after Boz was published,

A Comparison of John Steinbeck s novel Of Mice and Men and the 1939 Film Version of the Novel
Looking at the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck there is the clear comparison that this is a
print text, while the 1939 film version of the novel by Milestone is a visual text. There are many
things that need to be taken into consideration when analysing a visual text, these being the use of
camera angle, sound, lighting, editing and the mise en scène, whereas when looking at the print text
the use of description, dialogue, characterisation and imagery. The three scenes which are most

Candy looks helplessly saying it s hurt him after Carlson suggests shooting him because the ol dog jus
suffers hisself all the time . This suggests, just as clearly as the film, that the dog is important to him
and he doesn t want to lose him. This is also suggested when Candy says that he don t mind takin care
of him . Throughout the scene there is also the focus on the newspaper article as well as the main story
of Candys dog. This is a good technique used to build up tension because the audience wants to know
what s going to happen to the dog. Throughout this scene in the film there is still a clear focus on
Candy although the story of the newspaper article is going on around him. This causes an emotional
build up, along with the other characters that are placed in the camera shots who appear not to care
about Candy. The emotional build up is created in the novel with the description of Carlson who
continued to look down at the old dog as Candy watched him uneasily , this builds up tension between
the two characters even more so as the other characters present are unaware of this non verbal
communication until Carlson finally speaks. Once the conversation is over between the two and

The Locked Door Gladwell Summary
In the second chapter The Locked Door: The Secret Life of Snap Decisions . Gladwell delivered a
story about a retired tennis player. The player realized that every time he watch a tennis game, he can
predict when the server about to double fault. Gladwell explains that the tennis story proves how
important snap judgment is; he believes those snap judgments are extremely quick so that it can use
the smallest slice of experience. But at the same time they are unconscious. Because snap judgments
are unconscious, people often cannot rationalize them and thus do not trust them. It s one thing to
acknowledge the enormous power of snap judgments and thin slices but quite another to place our
trust in something so seemingly mysterious . Gladwell states that the Getty ... Show more content on

Another section in this chapter describes how we rarely understand why our unconscious works the
way it does. Gladwell illustrates with an example of Ted William, the greatest hitter of all time, when
he asked about the secret of his success he answered that he could track the ball right onto the bat.
Later on, when he confronted with the fact that human beings cannot track the ball onto the bat. He
said, Well, I guess it just seemed like I could do that . The author continues with the conclusion that
we have the tendency to explain almost everything, even when we do not have real explanation.
According to Gladwell, this is known as storytelling problem , and therefore we are better off by
saying I do not know more often. In the third chapter The Warren Harding Error: Why We Fall For
Tall, Dark, and Handsome Men . Gladwell uses Warren Harding, America s 29th President, as an
example of the disadvantages of thin slicing. He continues to describe how handsome and elegant
Harding was, and how he was elected president based on

The Resistance Of Female Leadership
Advancing Scientific Knowledge
Phenomena under discussion: Disparity, discrimination, gender bias, and resistance to female
leadership in churches, and historical ties to modern churches.
Historic phenomena such as events, gender bias, tradition, and mistranslation may influence/instigate
the resistance to female leadership in mainline American Protestant churches today and will be the
main thrust of this study. The findings from this study may advance scientific knowledge or add to
literature by providing understanding about how traditions, gender bias, organizational culture, and
other phenomenological reasons play a role in the resistance to female clergy. Furthermore, the study
results will provide an educational tool that may lessen the resistance to female clergy.
The theory: There are historical phenomena involved such as events, gender bias, tradition, and
mistranslation that continues to cause resistance to female leadership in Protestant churches in
addition to, or unrelated to biblical beliefs.
Significance of the Study
This study is significant because it is not known why historical phenomena continue to instigate and
influence resistance to female leadership in mainline American Protestant churches. Under discussion
will be: Disparity, discrimination, gender bias, organizational culture, and resistance to female
leadership in churches and historical ties to modern churches. This qualitative, phenomenological

The Future of Management

thought the world would stay on a standstill when the millennium loomed. The new word on the street

expect for the future to hold? This paper will tackle such issue.
The Future of Management
Companies are geared into increase in efficiency and productivity, better choice of goods, more
competitive prices, faster execution and better resource allocation. What was true then, will still hold

Customers are no longer afraid of the World Wide Web. They are actually what you call Internet

today s hard business, they need to enhance their business knowledge of Information Technology.
More and more technological innovations are sprouting. If a company stays within its boundary of
relic technology, it will not survive. The same goes for the managements and leaders of any
organization. The need to shed the old ways of management is a must. For companies to keep
employees, the need to embrace effective leadership and good management style. The organizational
culture needs to be value driven, empowering employees to have the entrepreneurial spirit. Line
managers, top managers and executives need to be able to manage change in a continuous learning
environment while creating and maintaining the appropriate working culture.

Donald Trump Race Summary
In this article, Martin explains how Donald Trump s inclusion into the race and his increasingly racist
attacks on minority groups is worrying Republicans. His recent statements regarding Hispanics and
Blacks have been highly controversial, and while his favorability rating is extremely low among those
demographics, 15% respectively, Donald Trump still leads by a large margin in the polls. Republican
party leaders do not believe he will win the nomination, but his attacks have drawn the Republican
talking points to the right. Just last week, Trump attacked Jeb Bush for speaking Spanish on the
campaign trail, and August 29th he criticized recent attacks on the police in regards to the recent
Baltimore riots. Other Republican nominees, hoping to grab some of the primary voters from Trump,
have begun attacking the two largest minorities in the United States. Ted Cruz recently spoke about
the Houston deputy who was killed, where he said Obama was to blame for the shooting, and that the
President was also responsible for the recent rioting in Baltimore. Ted Cruz has not been the only

Michael Pollan once said, In America we eat, collectively with a glum urge for food to fill us. We are
ignorant of flavor. We are as a nation taste blind. I agree with his statement; fast foods and frozen
foods are slowly killing people s taste buds. Fast and frozen foods leaves our taste buds blind towards
true flavor of homemade meals. People need to stop eating foods that are not freshly cooked, and they
should start eating foods that are freshly made with rich seasonings. The problem is that people do not
take the time to realize that fast and frozen foods are causing them to become blind to the taste of
cooked traditional homemade dinners. Americans have to wake up, open their eyes, and spend more
time making homemade foods to enjoy the true meaning of flavor. Until then, our nation s taste buds
will be blunted by fast foods and frozen foods. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Waves Zone And The Mid Tide Zone
As the Cellana denticulata is distributed in the upper lower intertidal zone and the mid tide zone it
must be able to withstand the upper lower intertidal zone and the mid tide zone as the rocky shore
experiences tidal fluctuations (abiotic factor) that occurs in a regular pattern in which the beach has
submerged areas and desiccated areas (the niche of the Cellana denticulata) this is an abiotic factor
that affects their survival. Tidal fluctuations are when the tide (sea) comes in and submerges areas of
the rocky shore while others are exposed. The tide ranges in vertical differences along the rocky shore;
from high tide, mid tide to low tide this is called zonation. These are the tides that fluctuate in a
regular pattern along the rocky shore and this is mainly due to the gravitation pull of the moon.
However the sun also affects the tides but has less gravitational force as the sun is further away from
earth. The gravitational pull of the moon is the main cause for tidal fluctuations as the moon has a
stronger gravitational pull as it is closer to the earth than the sun, hence the main cause for tidal
fluctuations as the gravitational pull from the moon exerted onto earth is greater than the earth.
Because the earth is in constant motion of rotation the earth and the moon become closer in distance
as the earth is not perfectly round and has uneven surfaces. These uneven surfaces or areas of the earth
are closer in distance to the moon and therefore the gravitational pull

The Most Meaningful Gifts In Chaim Potok s The Chosen
The Most Meaningful Gifts are Hidden in Plain Sight American singer and actress Ethel Waters once
said, We are all gifted. That is our inheritance. Whenever people think of someone as gifted they tend
to think of superpower type qualities. The Chosen, a book written by Chaim Potok, depicts several
different characters pertaining different talents. Characters such as Reuven, Danny, or even Mr. Malter
all possess abilities that help them in life. The types of gifts displayed in the book are not what people
usually think of as special gifts, but a special talent can seem as little as forgiving easily and genuinely
caring for others well being or as big as recalling information at a moments notice. In The Chosen,
characters such as Reuven, Danny, and Mr. Malter all demonstrate certain gifts that they maintain. To
begin with, Reuven Malter demonstrates many of his different types of gifts throughout the story. Two
of the key traits Reuven reveals are the gifts of compassion and the mind for logic. In the beginning of
the book Danny tries to kill Reuven by hitting him with a baseball, however, he later comes and
apologizes to him and Reuven forgives him (Potok, 70). Not everyone, when provided with a chance,
will forgive someone who wronged them. Instead pf clinging onto his resentments Reuven graciously
forgives Danny, an act that requires great compassion to fulfill. Another example of Reuven s gifts is
his ability to solve logic problems, Well, they try to

Loyalty In The Song Of Roland
The social class of a Western Medieval citizen played a significant role in the attitudes and behaviors
one was expected to maintain. Honor and glory were brought to those who knew their place in society
and never strayed from it. Nobility were no exception to this as we can see in the case of Roland, a
great knight whose life is portrayed in The Song of Roland. The setting of Roland s life is during the
Carolinian era during the battle of Roncevaux between France and the Islamic people. The unknown
author of this epic poem portrays Roland as a near faultless man who is able to uphold the duties of
knighthood and sustain his place in the feudalistic society. We can see many examples of him acting as
a perfect knight throughout the book until his honorable death. The first instance of Roland s
knighthood is seen in his loyalty to King Charles of France. Roland is so trusted by the King that he
sits by him and even advises him saying Woe the day you trust Marsile! (pg. 8) in regards to a
proposed treaty. The warning he gives proves to be accurate, proving his intellect and great war
strategy abilities. Roland also honors the when he fought in his name against the Saracens saying We

The fact that he takes part in the counseling of the King and is trusted as the leader of the rear guard,

Blancandrin who says Very fell is Roland, who would make every nation cry him mercy, and who

  • 2. What Changes Have Happened Since 1945 In Technology Essay pop culture technology In this essay I will cover the changes that have happened since 1945 in technology and secondly I will cover the influences that changed technology and thirdly I will talk about the positives and negatives of the advances of technology. What changes have happened since 1945 in technology? The main form of household communications device most people had in their homes was the radio to listen to music and also dance to it any time they wanted even when doing chores in the house as many people I know still do not to mention my mother, she always listens to mix 102.3 when she is doing chores and also when she is helping with my homework which is really important and she always turns up the music when it s her favorite songs . Televisions existed in 1945, but they were generally very expensive and the programming options were very few. In back to the future which is a movie that was made in the 80s I saw a scene when Marty Mcfly was travelling to the past and then when Marty was in his mother s house they bought a new television set which they said was very expensive and was in black and white . The televisions exploded tremendously in popularity in the 50s and 70s and know in the twenty first century people are buying more than one television in their house. As years and years went on, ... (procon.org) They are essential for allowing scientists to learn more about human biology and health, and for creating and developing new medicines. (yourgenome.org) Animal research helps save and preserve lives. Animals themselves gain from the results of animal testing. Because vaccines were tested on animals would have died from rabies. Infections, hepatitis viruses, and canine pro virus. The US Food and Drug Administration endorses the use of animal tests on cosmetics to ensure the safety of the product and ingredients. Mosquito repellant which helps protect people from Malaria and other dangerous illnesses, must undergo toxicological tests in order to be sold in the United States. (procom.org) It has been estimated that millions of animals per year are used to test the safety of household cleaners, pesticides, industrial chemicals, food additives, packing materials, drugs and vaccines for both people and animals, and even the food eaten by other animals. The use of animals to test cosmetics and other care products has declined in recent years, a wide array of non animal skin and eye irritation tests have been developed to determine the effects of short term exposure to new ingredients. The pressure from the public has played a major role in these alternatives. In conclusion, animal research is important to saving the lives of many people. Animal testing is used to determine how much of a drug is being absorbed into the blood. Animal testing enabled the development of countless lifesaving treatments for both humans and animals, that there is no alternative method for researching a completely living organism and that strictly regulates and prevents the mistreatment of animals in the laboratory. • 4. Roe Vs Wade Research Paper Ever since I can remember abortion has been a very controversial issue to talk about. Roe v. Wade was a Supreme Court landmark case on this controversial issue. This case was the beginning of a national debate that continues to date. This case took place in Texas, before the case the law said that unless you need to save the woman s life because they are endangered then abortion is illegal. The decision in this case made it legal for women to decide. To this day people are fighting against this. Pro choice are people who are pro having the choice to have an abortion or not. There are a lot of people who would just like to make an abortion illegal. I am pro choice and thanks to Roe v. Wade the right for a woman to decide what she wants to do with her own body was fought against the U.S. Supreme court. Instead of ending the debate of abortion this decision only made it worse. People who were against it multiplied and strengthened their groups. As R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of Southern Baptist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nixon never publicly commented on the decision but when the Nixon tapes were release you could hear that he said sometimes abortion are necessary, although things concerned him about it. Other presidents who have supported it and continue to do so are Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama. In the 2008 elections it was revealed that Normal L. McCorvey had endorsed Republican candidate Ron Paul. McCorvey said I support Ron Paul for president because we share the same goal, that of overturning Roe v Wade (Ertelt, Steven L.). Who would have thought that the original Roe would then want to overturn the case. Norma L. McCorvey became a pro life advocate in 1995. She does not want women using this as a form of birth control she says women have come up to her thanking her for their five or six abortions. • 5. Analysis Of Nella Larsen s Passing, Issues Of Race,... In Nella Larsen s Passing, issues of race, identity, and privilege are explored. Irene Redfield, the African American wife of a doctor, is herself passing in the Drayton Hotel s rooftop garden when she comes across Clare Kendry, a childhood friend. Clare is passing as white in her daily life with her husband believing that she is a white woman. Although Irene does not approve of Clare s passing, and tension exists among the characters, Irene grows to feel sympathetic for Clare and becomes closer to her. The tension that exists between the two women is suggestive of another form of passing and sublimated desire. Through the novel, Larsen demonstrates that passing manifests. By developing unsteady characters, Larsen communicates how simple it is to escape one s appreciation of themself. Clare breaks the tragic mulatto stereotype, but never has the chance to identify to a particular race. While she passes as white, Clare still seeks comfort from her friend Irene who is from the African American community. In Irene s mind, Clare has become a mysterious double of herself due to their contrasting lives they lead. Irene is obsessive and envious of Clare. She destroys her own self by psychologically ruining herself, thinking that Clare is having an affair with her husband, Brian. While openly discussing racial passing, the book also secretly analyzes gender passing. Irene s connection with Clare is based on desire, jealousy, and obsession. Both Clare and Irene fail to try to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Self-Identity In Ayn Rand s Anthem Self identity, this is a word that is sewn into the fibers of our very being, but in all reality the true definition is unknown. This word means the complete opposite of whatever the world has decided for the meaning, because quite frankly in the end self identity does not revolve around any one self , but the contrary but works to benefit the masses. Once one discovers who they are they are able to find their gifts to bless others live and potentially bless them with the gift of identifying themselves. When we discover ourselves this only leads to discoveries that can provide help or assistance to the world and other individuals. In the book Anthem by Ayn Rand it is taught by the main character that you must discover yourself and identify your strengths and weaknesses so that you may prove to the world that you are beneficial. We learn of a male, the age is unknown, who is looked down upon by his fellow men who believe that people with intelligence are undesirable and a burden to the rest of the population. Throughout the book this boy grows though his brain and curiosity grew quicker. So he was breaking rules and laws left and right. It was then when he discovered that his brain was able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But even the slightest differences in all of these define and shape every personality that crawls the earth today. It is our differences that make us great. Kurt Vonnegut perfectly depicts how we should praise others for their differences and build them, rather degrade them for their strengths. In Vonnegut s short story Harrison Bergeron we see the consequences of destroying what makes people into a someone. • 7. Essay on Hunger Unrelenting Hunger Hunger , by Lan Samantha Chang, is a cautionary tale of an immigrant Chinese family in this complex story about unrelenting hunger, oppression, love and loss. Narrated by Min; the deeply unhappy and obedient wife of Tian, a gifted violinist, finds work as a music teacher in New York, but ultimately fails to land a permanent job at the school. Driven by personal failure and his unrelenting hunger for the violin Tian cruelly forces his two daughters, Anna and Ruth to play the violin, so they can follow in his footsteps. Tian s inability to separate himself from his violin ends up destroying his family. Because of this sacrifice he sees his violin as his main identity; he is a violinist, and he must honor that at all costs. He can t allow himself to enjoy anything else in life for fear that he sacrificed everything for nothing. The great irony here is that this all consuming obsession with the violin leaves him bereft of any time or desire to spend time with his wife and children, unless it involves the violin, which ultimately causes them to reject him too. When Tian s own dream dies he ruthlessly pushes music on his daughters in order to allow him to live vicariously through them. Anna, the oldest, tries to win her father s love through the violin but ends up having a mediocre sense of pitch (54) and Tian can no longer stand to teach Anna the violin. Min notices when he looked at Anna he saw nothing but his own struggles; he hated her difficulties, but he especially hated his own. (55); this immense self hatred, and lack of an identity outside of the violin, causes him to viciously force Ruth to become a violinist. Despite her lack of interest and the fact that she cries during every practice, Tian does not care as he sees promise in her. He yells at Ruth Do you understand? From now on, you work. • 8. The History Of Animals Being Domesticated The history of animals being domesticated starts as far back as 20,000 years ago, when large mammals such as bison roamed the tundra of Europe and Asia. They were hunted widely by two groups of hunters, both smaller and weaker than the bison, but both had sufficient developed social systems to allow them to hunt and kill in packs. These two hunters were the humans and the wolves. These two groups of hunters are surprisingly similar. Both are family based and led by a dominant male whose female partner has authority second to his. All of the members are friendly towards each other, but extremely suspicious of outsiders. All members are also protective of any newborn and young in the pack, and both are good at interpreting the moods of others, by facial expression or other forms of body language. Though humans and wolves started out competing for the same prey, but soon realized the advantages for both of them in teaming up. On the side of the wolves, human ingenuity and the use of weapons mean a share in a greater number of kill, and maybe a taste of bigger pretty they couldn t take down alone, such as mammoths. On the side of humans, the speed of the wolves and ferocity is equivalent to a new weapon altogether. The partnership between the two is natural. People love to nurture an abandoned young animal, and a wolf cub is adapted to learn the rules of a hierarchical human society. For a species like the wolf to become domesticated, it must be willing to breed in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Management Functions And Functions Of Management Essay Management is viewed as a critical part in any business or corporate commercial enterprises. Group assignments provide a useful platform for understanding the management functions that consist of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling (POLC). I totally do agree with this statement. Management of groups is actually the key to all of these P O L C functions. Any management can accomplish and succeed objectives through the organizing execution of these four functions (123helpme.com, 2015). Management involves coordinating and controlling a gathering of one or more individuals or elements with the end goal of planning and blending them towards finishing expansive, organization or office, or perhaps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If it is done efficiently, one can reduce much the necessary effort and time of achieving the goal. Plans are similar to maps. When a plan is followed, one possibly can always observe how much one has progressed towards the goal and what s left to reach the destination. Also a person should know where they stand. This helps in making good decisions. Another important thing I grasped from the group work was the 80/20 rule. It indicates that 80 percent of one s respective outcomes originate from 20 percent of one s respective inputs. The second management function is organizing. Organizing means relationship between persons, work and resources used to achieve the common goals. The principle purpose connected with being organized is to establish successful lines connected with responsibility along with authority designed. Leading is the third management function. Leading involves the actual social as well as informal types of influence that can be used to be able to inspire activity taken by others. If managers are competent leaders, their subordinates are going to be enthusiastic in relation to exerting effort to get organizational goals. A lot of contributions have been made understanding this specific function of management. Controlling is the fourth and the final of the management functions. Topic 1B) The Python spp. is classified with Kingdom Animalia because they re heterotrophs and exhibit motility. The Python spp. descendent from a chordata because they have a spine and backbone developed from the notochord and dorsal nerve cord. The Python spp. is cold blooded species and covered in scales. They have embryos or eggs that are covered by an amniotic membrane. All phylogenetics are consistent with their relationship to lizards around 150 million years ago in the late Jurassic Period (Strauss, 2016). Topic 1C) There are different species of Pythons so their environments vary. The P. molurus bivittatus inhabit Southeast Asia in jungles and grassy marshes (Society, 2014). The P. regius lives in Africa adapting into farmland or grassland savannah. Most Python spp. are native to parts of Asia and Africa (Gorzula, 1997). Some of the Python spp. swim and water features are important to their environment such as the P. bivittatus. Juvenile P. bivittatus spent most of the time inhabiting trees but as adults, they increase in size and weight will shift their habitat to the ground (Society, 2014). • 14. Examples Of Stereotypes In The Return Of Jahar Although the use of animation inherently calls for more caricatured characters, Disney s Aladdin and The Return of Jafar are full of harmful middle eastern Arab stereotypes. Almost all the characters, save for Aladdin and Jasmine, who are the most white out of almost all of the other Arabs (they have middle class American accents, are of a lighter skin tone) are painted as the Violent Arab, for example; the shopkeeper attempts to slice Iago for attempting to steal some grapes. The villains are painted as stereotypically faceless/ uniform Arabs that blunder around stupidly and are ridiculously superstitious (in The Return of Jafar they immediately assume that a box is mystically floating, rather than being lifted from below). On top of all that, there is the obvious stereotyping present in the opening song of Aladdin, Oh, I come from a land, from a faraway place/ Where the caravan camels roam/ Where it s flat and immense/ And the heat is intense/ It s barbaric, but hey, it s home . Definition of Germplasm: Germplasm is the living genetic resources such as seeds or tissue that is maintained for the purpose of animal and plant breeding, preservation, and other research uses. Weismann s Germ Plasm Theory, Main Points, Objections and Significance: Germplasm theory was proposed by August Weismann (1834 1914) who was a neo Darwinian biologist. He proposed this theory in his book Das Keimplasma. According to the Weismann the variations are of two types. Some are congenital i.e. organisms are born with them and others are acquired during the life time of a particular plant or animal. The acquired character, was with the latter type of variations, Weismann was very much concerned. To explain that acquired character could not be inherited Weismann introduced the theory of Germplasm. The main points of germplasm theory are the following: The main concept of theory is that living bodies are made up of fundamentally different types of material the germplasm (protoplasm of germ cell e.g. sperm and ova) and the somatoplasm ( protoplasm of somatic or body cell). The germplasm remain in the organism and responsible for the development of reproductive parts, secluded and sealed from the somatoplasm which grow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 17. Risk Management Within The Homeland Security Enterprise Risk Management within the Homeland Security Enterprise Risk has been defined as the likelihood of a specific outcome and the results or consequences of that specific outcome (Masse, O Neil, Rollins, 2007). Risk is inherent to every facet of life. There are risks involved in the mundane of driving down the road or walking on a sidewalk. Certain factors are added which increases the risk of conducting these mundane tasks. For example, driving at a high rate of speed during a rain storm exponentially increases the risk that one will lose control of the vehicle and probably wreck. Assessing and managing risk is also a part of everyday life though most people do not realize that they are actually using these tools to mitigate risks. In the previous example, one would assess the risks of travelling at a high rate of speed during a rainstorm and manage that risk by slowing down to a rate of speed that is commensorate with effects of the rainstorm in order to avoid hydroplaning. Thus, the risks have been mitigated and the probability of losing control of the vehicle is significantly decreased or eliminated. The principals of identifying risks, assessing risks, and managing risks are used throughout the homeland security enterprise to mitigate risks posed to the public, critical infrastructure, and ultimately national security. According to the Department of Homeland Security s (DHS) (2010) Quadreannial Homeland Security Review Report, homeland security is about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In researching the reception of the Divinity School Address, I encountered not only widely known and hostile criticism from Andrews Norton, but positive appraisals from writers such as Orestes Brownson. First and foremost i disagree with cloning because, it hasn t developed yet and it can take a lot of tries before getting a human being to this earth. On the other hand, animals have been cloned since the beginning of this technology. They have a 70% chance of being born safely but that is not the same for humans the percentage to clone a human is 20% to 40% which is not even past birth. There has been a lot of failure on cloning but maybe one day it will be perfected. But over the years cloning has increased at a more stable rate. This new cloning technology can really wrong because, you re basically make a robot just in a human form factor. One good thing about cloning is that they can clone certain organ cells and damaged tissue. But to do something like that it s 50,000 dollars which only certain people can afford. That s why is not extremely common to hear someone say that they have cloned a tissue or an organ. However cloning is not cheap it s expensive but is it worth it? Favorably, it all depends on what you would like to clone and does it have a value to your day to day life. Supposing that you want to clone your dog or cat the estimated price is from 25,000 thousand dollars and it can reach higher pricing. People who have the money to do these sort of things must have been with that pet for a long time and that pet means a lot to them. However when you re cloning a pet yes they are going to have the same characteristics as the one who passed away. Although it won t feel the same as having your original pet. In my opinion people are doing this because it s an outlet for them to forget how their pet and pretend like it s still there with them. Part of these people don t even think on what they are doing because they are so inlove with their animals. They should really think about cloning pets and them make a decision. • 29. A Report On Auto Maintenance When it comes to auto maintenance, your tyres are one of, if not the most, vital components of your vehicle. You might be thinking, Harjeev, everyone knows this already , and you re not wrong. Yet, despite this being largely common knowledge amongst drivers, a majority of auto owners across the world tend to delay or neglect their maintenance altogether. According to TyreSafe s 2015 Tyre Safety Month study 65% of UK drivers (out of 102,000 tyres they surveyed) needed to check their treads more often. Not only does regular service and maintenance reduce your service costs, as scheduled maintenance outweighs large repairs, it impacts your safety. TyreSafe s study painted a potentially frightening image of UK roads with over a quarter of tyres (27.3%) having an illegal tread depth of 1.6mm or less. That s 10 million tyres in 2015 alone that were potentially illegal! If that didn t catch your attention, maybe the penalty will. In the UK, you could face a £2500 fine and three penalty points per illegal tyre on your vehicle! Imagine how much you could have saved when comparing the price of new tyres against potentially £10000 in fines. Let s delve into why you cannot put off your tyre care. If you aren t maintaining your tyres, expect to see a decline in your vehicle s braking, cornering and gas mileage while your CO2 emissions go up. Just think, neglecting your tyres affects everyone s safety, your wallet and the environment in one fell swoop! Let s pretend that wasn t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Biography on Charles Dickens This greatest of Victorian writers was born in Landport, Portsmouth, on February 7, 1812. His father John worked as a clerk in the Navy Payroll Office in Portsmouth. The elder Dickens was transfered several times, first to London, then to Chatham, and finally, in 1822, back to London, where the family lived in Camden Town. John Dickens was constantly in debt, and in 1824 he was imprisoned in Marshalsea debtor s prison (Southwark). Charles was forced to leave school at the age of 12 and go to work in a bootblack factory to help support the Dickens family. It was his personal experience of factory work and the living conditions of the poor that created in Dickens the compassion which was to mark his literary works such as Oliver Twist. Dickens was released from the purgatory of Warren s Blacking Factory when his father received a legacy from a relative, and could finally pay his debts and be set free from Marshalsea. Charles went to Wellington House Academy for two years, then took work at Gray s Inn as a clerk. Dickens worked as a Parliamentary reporter before finally moving on to The Morning Chronicle in 1834. His first published work appeared in Monthly Magazine in December 1833, and he followed it with nine more, penning his name as Boz to the last two articles. The pseudonym Boz was drawn from a pet name for his younger brother when they were children. In 1836 his articles were compiled and published as Sketches by Boz . A Comparison of John Steinbeck s novel Of Mice and Men and the 1939 Film Version of the Novel Looking at the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck there is the clear comparison that this is a print text, while the 1939 film version of the novel by Milestone is a visual text. There are many things that need to be taken into consideration when analysing a visual text, these being the use of camera angle, sound, lighting, editing and the mise en scène, whereas when looking at the print text the use of description, dialogue, characterisation and imagery. The three scenes which are most relevant to the novel and the film are, the shooting of Candy s dog, the fight which takes place between Curley ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Candy looks helplessly saying it s hurt him after Carlson suggests shooting him because the ol dog jus suffers hisself all the time . This suggests, just as clearly as the film, that the dog is important to him and he doesn t want to lose him. This is also suggested when Candy says that he don t mind takin care of him . Throughout the scene there is also the focus on the newspaper article as well as the main story of Candys dog. This is a good technique used to build up tension because the audience wants to know what s going to happen to the dog. Throughout this scene in the film there is still a clear focus on Candy although the story of the newspaper article is going on around him. This causes an emotional build up, along with the other characters that are placed in the camera shots who appear not to care about Candy. The emotional build up is created in the novel with the description of Carlson who continued to look down at the old dog as Candy watched him uneasily , this builds up tension between the two characters even more so as the other characters present are unaware of this non verbal communication until Carlson finally speaks. Once the conversation is over between the two and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The player realized that every time he watch a tennis game, he can predict when the server about to double fault. Gladwell explains that the tennis story proves how important snap judgment is; he believes those snap judgments are extremely quick so that it can use the smallest slice of experience. But at the same time they are unconscious. Because snap judgments are unconscious, people often cannot rationalize them and thus do not trust them. It s one thing to acknowledge the enormous power of snap judgments and thin slices but quite another to place our trust in something so seemingly mysterious . Gladwell states that the Getty ... Later on, when he confronted with the fact that human beings cannot track the ball onto the bat. He said, Well, I guess it just seemed like I could do that . The author continues with the conclusion that we have the tendency to explain almost everything, even when we do not have real explanation. According to Gladwell, this is known as storytelling problem , and therefore we are better off by saying I do not know more often. In the third chapter The Warren Harding Error: Why We Fall For Tall, Dark, and Handsome Men . • 37. Donald Trump Race Summary In this article, Martin explains how Donald Trump s inclusion into the race and his increasingly racist attacks on minority groups is worrying Republicans. His recent statements regarding Hispanics and Blacks have been highly controversial, and while his favorability rating is extremely low among those demographics, 15% respectively, Donald Trump still leads by a large margin in the polls. Republican party leaders do not believe he will win the nomination, but his attacks have drawn the Republican talking points to the right. Just last week, Trump attacked Jeb Bush for speaking Spanish on the campaign trail, and August 29th he criticized recent attacks on the police in regards to the recent Baltimore riots. Other Republican nominees, hoping to grab some of the primary voters from Trump, have begun attacking the two largest minorities in the United States. Ted Cruz recently spoke about the Houston deputy who was killed, where he said Obama was to blame for the shooting, and that the President was also responsible for the recent rioting in Baltimore. • 39. Michael Pollan Foods Michael Pollan once said, In America we eat, collectively with a glum urge for food to fill us. We are ignorant of flavor. We are as a nation taste blind. I agree with his statement; fast foods and frozen foods are slowly killing people s taste buds. Fast and frozen foods leaves our taste buds blind towards true flavor of homemade meals. People need to stop eating foods that are not freshly cooked, and they should start eating foods that are freshly made with rich seasonings. The problem is that people do not take the time to realize that fast and frozen foods are causing them to become blind to the taste of cooked traditional homemade dinners. Americans have to wake up, open their eyes, and spend more time making homemade foods to enjoy the true meaning of flavor. Until then, our nation s taste buds will be blunted by fast foods and frozen foods. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 40. The Waves Zone And The Mid Tide Zone As the Cellana denticulata is distributed in the upper lower intertidal zone and the mid tide zone it must be able to withstand the upper lower intertidal zone and the mid tide zone as the rocky shore experiences tidal fluctuations (abiotic factor) that occurs in a regular pattern in which the beach has submerged areas and desiccated areas (the niche of the Cellana denticulata) this is an abiotic factor that affects their survival. Tidal fluctuations are when the tide (sea) comes in and submerges areas of the rocky shore while others are exposed. The tide ranges in vertical differences along the rocky shore; from high tide, mid tide to low tide this is called zonation. These are the tides that fluctuate in a regular pattern along the rocky shore and this is mainly due to the gravitation pull of the moon. However the sun also affects the tides but has less gravitational force as the sun is further away from earth. The gravitational pull of the moon is the main cause for tidal fluctuations as the moon has a stronger gravitational pull as it is closer to the earth than the sun, hence the main cause for tidal fluctuations as the gravitational pull from the moon exerted onto earth is greater than the earth. Because the earth is in constant motion of rotation the earth and the moon become closer in distance as the earth is not perfectly round and has uneven surfaces. These uneven surfaces or areas of the earth are closer in distance to the moon and therefore the gravitational pull ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Most Meaningful Gifts In Chaim Potok s The Chosen The Most Meaningful Gifts are Hidden in Plain Sight American singer and actress Ethel Waters once said, We are all gifted. That is our inheritance. Whenever people think of someone as gifted they tend to think of superpower type qualities. The Chosen, a book written by Chaim Potok, depicts several different characters pertaining different talents. Characters such as Reuven, Danny, or even Mr. Malter all possess abilities that help them in life. The types of gifts displayed in the book are not what people usually think of as special gifts, but a special talent can seem as little as forgiving easily and genuinely caring for others well being or as big as recalling information at a moments notice. In The Chosen, characters such as Reuven, Danny, and Mr. Malter all demonstrate certain gifts that they maintain. To begin with, Reuven Malter demonstrates many of his different types of gifts throughout the story. Two of the key traits Reuven reveals are the gifts of compassion and the mind for logic. In the beginning of the book Danny tries to kill Reuven by hitting him with a baseball, however, he later comes and apologizes to him and Reuven forgives him (Potok, 70). Not everyone, when provided with a chance, will forgive someone who wronged them. Instead pf clinging onto his resentments Reuven graciously forgives Danny, an act that requires great compassion to fulfill. Another example of Reuven s gifts is his ability to solve logic problems, Well, they try to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Loyalty In The Song Of Roland The social class of a Western Medieval citizen played a significant role in the attitudes and behaviors one was expected to maintain. Honor and glory were brought to those who knew their place in society and never strayed from it. Nobility were no exception to this as we can see in the case of Roland, a great knight whose life is portrayed in The Song of Roland. The setting of Roland s life is during the Carolinian era during the battle of Roncevaux between France and the Islamic people. The unknown author of this epic poem portrays Roland as a near faultless man who is able to uphold the duties of knighthood and sustain his place in the feudalistic society. We can see many examples of him acting as a perfect knight throughout the book until his honorable death. The first instance of Roland s knighthood is seen in his loyalty to King Charles of France. Roland is so trusted by the King that he sits by him and even advises him saying Woe the day you trust Marsile! (pg. 8) in regards to a proposed treaty.
