To be a director, one needs a degree in video production or media studies along with qualifications in English, art, photography, film studies, or business studies. As a director, one must write scripts, effectively edit films, and make quick decisions on set to guide the camera operators and other staff. While technical camera skills are not required, basic camera knowledge is recommended.

QUALIFICATIONS
If at university the courses that you will be advised to study would be English, a creative subject such
as art/photography and film or media studies.
To be a director you will need a degree in video production but apart from that there are no set
qualifications to be a director but the ones that will help are business studies, Media qualification
and you need to be able to use computers/edit. You will also need a brief knowledge on how to use
a camera, even though most of the time camera men will be hired.

As a director you will need to write the scripts (also having a qualification in English is preferred),
edit effectively and be able to make quick/correct decisions.You need to be able to do this so
everyone working on set for you knows what to do.
