The filmmaker learned several lessons from their preliminary task to the full film opening. They ensured costumes remained consistent by filming all scenes in one day. They also learned to maintain consistent lighting across clips by using the same camera settings. Their shot types improved from relying heavily on shot-reverse shot, to using shots more effectively to build suspense such as during a walk. They also learned to use adult actors who were more focused and efficient during filming. Areas they would improve include adding more dialogue, such as during the walk, and changing the ending to make it scarier by having the baby kidnapped instead of the man being killed.

the progression from it to the full product?
Costume:
One of mymajor faultswhencreatingmypreliminaryvideowasthe factthat the actors costumes
changedthroughoutthe video,thiswasbecause Ifilmedontwodifferentdaysandunfortunately
the actors had differentclotheson,Ihave progressedwhenmakingmyfilmopeningbecauseI
managedto getorganisedenoughtobe able tofilmall the footage inone day,ensuringthatthe
actors were dressedinthe same outfit.
Lighting
Duringthe filmingof myfilmopeningIhave learnttokeepaconsistentbrightnessof myclips,when
filmingmypre-limtaskI(withoutrealising)usedtwodifferentcameraswithdifferentapertures.The
difference inaperture meantthatone camerawashavinglesslightletintothe lensthanthe other,
the consequence of thiswasthathalf of myclipswere reallydarkandhalf were bright.Therefore I
learnthowto editclipsonpremierproto adjustthe brightness,Imanagedtomake the dark clips a
lotbrighterthanbefore howeverthere wasstillanoticeable difference.
Shot types
The shot typesinmy preliminarytaskwere prettysimple andstraightforwardinmyopinion,Irelied
heavilyonshot-reverse shotthroughoutmyfilmtomake itinteresting.Whenmakingmyfilm

because theydidn’tmessaroundandmainlybecause Ihadlessouttakesto sort throughwhen
tryingto findthe correct clips.
What to improve?
If I were tore-domyfilmopeningthenthe aspectsIwouldchange wouldbe:

I wouldlike toimprove mydialoguebecause I simplydon’tthinkthere wasenoughof it,Iwould
probablyinclude some conversationduringthe walkalongthe pathwayif Iwere todo itagain, and
alsoensure thatI useda voice recorderto getthe bestqualitypossible ratherthanjustusingthe
microphone inthe camera.
I wouldimprove myendingbecauseIthinkif Ichangedthe story line itwouldnotonlyimprove my
filmbutmake it evenmore scary/twisted.The changesIwouldmake wouldbe tochange the story
line tothe baby beingkidnappedratherthanthe manbeingkilled,Ihave hadsome peerstell me
that thiswouldhave made fora betterstoryline,andencourage themtowant to see more.
Overall Iam happywithmy filmopeningbecause the genre ismade veryobviousforthe audience,
especiallythroughthe use of the clownmaskat the end.Clownmasksare oftenportrayedasscary
infilmsandare oftenfearedbya lotof children.AlsoIfeelIhave improvedalotsince mypre limfor
the reasonspreviouslymentioned,andfeel Iwouldonlyimprove more redoingit.
