Working with data is a challenge for many organizations. Nonprofits in particular may need to collect and analyze sensitive, incomplete, and/or biased historical data about people. In this talk, Dr. Cori Faklaris of UNC Charlotte provides an overview of current AI capabilities and weaknesses to consider when integrating current AI technologies into the data workflow. The talk is organized around three takeaways: (1) For better or sometimes worse, AI provides you with “infinite interns.” (2) Give people permission & guardrails to learn what works with these “interns” and what doesn’t. (3) Create a roadmap for adding in more AI to assist nonprofit work, along with strategies for bias mitigation.

6. WHY DO WE NEED A VISION
2025?
Competition of other organizations and activities is growing
Free time of people is getting more and more professionalised
Oversupply of information makes only strong messages stand out
Young people are very committed, but want to spread their
attention and focus
Young people need to see a clear added value to commit themselves
7. WHY DO WE NEED A VISION
2025?
JCI exists for 70 years in Belgium. Decisions taken in the past were good,
seen from the context those decisions were taken in.
Times are changing, so we should also ask ourselves if we need to change as
well, looking for the solutions we need for the future, not for the past.
There are no such things as “holy houses”. Everything should be able to be
changed when necessary to build a strong organization towards the future.
A modern organization should be purpose driven, customer centric and agile
and authentic. These elements should be strengthened in our vision towards
the future.
8. VISION 2025
