Jewer Bailey Consultants Limited (JBC) is a multi-disciplinary consulting
engineering firm specializing in structural, mechanical and electrical design and
project management services for commercial, industrial, institutional and
residential projects.
Headquartered in St. John’s, Newfoundland, JBC has an experienced staff of
engineers, technologists and administrative personnel.
JBC was born out of a philosophy of providing high quality, personal service in a
timely manner while maintaining a focus and commitment to project budgets.
We also have a focus committed to the concepts of sustainable engineering and
ecological design, the intention of which is to reduce or completely eliminate
negative environmental impact through skillful, sensitive design.

The goal of JBC is to design the built environment such that energy
and resources are used at a rate that does not compromise the
natural environment or the ability of future generations to meet their
own needs.
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program
currently being implemented by the Canadian Green Building Council
(CaGBC) across Canada is an internationally accepted third-party
certification program and benchmark for the design, construction
and operation of high performance green buildings.

Ray Bailey, P. Eng., Senior Partner
Ray graduated in 1987 from Memorial University of Newfoundland with
a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Prior to establishing JBC in
June of 2012 Ray was employed with BAE Newplan Group Ltd. / SNC
Lavalin in various positions ranging from Design Engineer to Manager
of the Structural Department. Ray also managed the Marine Group and
oversaw many international port projects in countries such as West
Africa, Vietnam, South America, Greenland and Saudi Arabia.
Ken Jewer, P. Eng., Senior Partner
Ken graduated in 1987 from Memorial University of Newfoundland with
a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to establishing JBC
in June of 2012 Ken was employed with BAE Newplan Group Ltd. / SNC
Lavalin in various positions ranging from Design Engineer to Manager
of the Mechanical and Electrical Departments. Ken is a member of
several professional organizations including ASHRAE and NFPA and has
been a volunteer member of the provincial Public Safety Appeals Board
and the Joint Board of Practice between PEGNL and NLAA.
Dustin Cole, P. Eng., Senior Electrical Engineer
Dustin graduated in 2001 from Memorial University of Newfoundland
with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to joining JBC in
2012 Dustin was employed with AMEC Americas Ltd. as a Senior
Electrical Engineer. Dustin is a member of PEGNL and is a LEED®
Accredited Professional. This designation recognizes him as an expert
in Green Building Design.
