This book teaches students the concepts of making and understanding maps. This book starts out
with a girl named Lisa talking about how her class is learning how to use maps. The story then
proceeds to Lisa making many different kinds of maps. Throughout the book, she creates maps of
places like her bedroom, her dog s treasure map, and her dog s favorite places. The book talks
about important things that need to be added to a map, which I find extremely helpful. This is

These are important because in the international realm, there is always insecurity and a lack of
trust between states; they can never be certain that there are no threats from other states and
therefore there is always the risk that a war may commence. This is particularly a problem as
pluralism exists among states, therefore there are different views and aims, which inevitably cause
disagreements. There is essentially an anarchic condition, where there is no global government to
enforce punishment or control disputes and in turn there is a constant security dilemma .
Institutions, such as the UN, create a forum where different states issues can be discussed and the
institution can act as a mediator to create an appropriate response and plan, in order to deal with
the issues. A prime example of how where institutions this and may have been beneficial is World
War One and World War Two, of which the United Nationsarose. This shows that states were aware
of the dangers and risks of war that an anarchic system had, and wanted an international institution
to help prevent problems such as these occurring again . Not to suggest that global institutions
create world peace, but they can put pressure on certain states, help solve arguments and controls
disputes, to decrease the chances of escalation of war. Had

Universalism
Universalism is the belief that all are born of God, there is no eternal punishment for sin, and
there is no need of Christ s sacrifice. It is the teaching that no one will be ultimately lost since
God will eventually save everyone. Using verses such as those in Galatians 3 where it explains that
all are God s people, they ascribe to a belief that all are include in an enteral heaven (Gal. 3:26).
Universalism often accuses others as being intolerant and arrogant and are presenting a subjective
viewpoint that makes them incapable of producing a valid judgment.
Opposition to Universalism tends to come from those who are more involved in the study of
scripture. Supporting views contend that there are positive features of certain religions or belief
systems. However, being included as created by God does not imply that all will live an eternity
with God. In 1 Thessalonians, Paul compliments those who became examples of those who
turned from idols, serving God and waiting on His Son (1 Thess. 1:4 10). Verses such as these are
difficult to understand if all would be accepted into heaven. Much of Paul s ministry would have
been unnecessary since all would eventually have a place in heaven.
In order to justify an all inclusive salvation, Universalist use the first chapter of Colossians to argue
that God s intention is to reconcile all things, in heaven and earth, to Him (Col. 1:20). Erwin Lutzer
