Comparison of symmetric and asymmetric steel diagrid structures by non linear...eSAT Journals
Abstract Diagonalized grid structures – “diagrids” - have emerged as one of the most innovative and adaptable approaches to structuring buildings in this millennium. Diagrid is a particular form of space truss, it consists of perimeter grid made up of a series of triangulated truss system. Diagrid is formed by intersecting the diagonal and horizontal components. Construction of multi‐storey building is rapidly increasing throughout the world. Advance in construction technology, materials, structural systems, various analysis and design software have facilitated the growth of various kinds of buildings. Diagrid buildings are emerging as structurally efficient as well as architecturally and aesthetically significant assemblies for tall buildings. Recently these diagrid structural systems have been widely used for tall buildings due to the structural efficiency and aesthetic potential provided by the unique geometric configuration of the system. This paper presents a 12 storey steel diagrid structure which is 36m in height. Symmetric and asymmetric structural configurations of diagrid structures were modelled and analyzed using SAP 2000 by considering Dead load, Live load and Seismic Loads (IS 1893-Part-1, 2002). Then FEMA 356 hinges (auto hinges) are assigned to the same structure and Nonlinear Static (Pushover) analysis is carried out by using seismic load as the pushover load case to find out the performance points that is Immediate Occupancy, Life Safety, and Collapse Prevention of diagrid elements using static pushover curve. At the same time spectral displacement demand & spectral displacement capacity as well as spectral acceleration demand and spectral acceleration capacity is compared to know the adequacy of the design by using ATC capacity spectrum method. Keywords: Diagrid, Pushover analysis, Spectral displacement demand, Spectral displacement capacity, Spectral acceleration demand, Spectral acceleration capacity
Optimization of a multistorey building by optimum positioning of shear walleSAT Journals
Abstract The shear wall is a structural element which is used to resist earthquake forces. These wall will consumptives shear forces & will prevent changing location-position of construction & consequently destruction. On other hand, shear wall arrangement must be absolutely accurate, if not, we will find negative effect instead. For example if the shear walls make an increase distance between mass centre and hardness centre, we cannot expect a good tensional behavior from the structure. In case of mass centre and hardness centre coincide with each other, at that time the distance of shear wall from the mass centre also plays an important role in the shear contribution of the shear wall. The bending moment, shear force, torsion, axial force contribution by rest of the structural element and the ultimate design of all the structural components also affected by that. A study has been carried out to determine the optimum Structural configuration of a multistory building by changing the shear wall locations radically. Four different cases of shear wall position for a 10 storey residential building with keeping zero eccentricity between mass centre and hardness centre have been analyzed and designed as a space frame system by computer application software, subjected to lateral and gravity loading in accordance with IS provisions. Keywords: Shear walls, Lateral loading, Zero eccentricity, Stresses, Design configuration.
KEMPAS TIMBER UN-BONDED POSTTENSIONING SOLUTION NEW APPROACHIAEME Publication
Post-tensioning technique is a commonly used for concrete structure. This
technique had many advantage, it gives thinner section larger span, better cracking
resisting sections. For timber material it is a new technique with limited use. in this
paper a natural timber (Malaysian Kempas type) is used in post-tensioning solution.
Two methods are investigated for post-tensioning solution. The first method is the
standard method of post-tensioning which used commonly in concrete pre-stressing
that include pump and jack tools. The other method is a new way for post-tensioning
that depending on the fundamentals of pre-stressing and bending theory. Two type of
threaded rod bar are used. The two methods were deflection control process and the
post-tensioning force estimated by stress-strain relation. The limitation of posttensioning
force was depending on the timber, rod bar strength capacity. The results
clear that standard method is more effective in post-tensioning process while the posttensioning
by bending is safer for specimens due to avoiding stress concentration at
the end face of beam.

MECHANICAL BEHAVIOUR OF DAMAGED CENTRAL CORE STRAND CONSTITUTING A STEEL WIRE...IAEME Publication
The main objective of this study is to predict the evolution of damage of the central core (strand) that represent the heart of a wire rope, based on simple experimental tensile test conducted on virgin samples and others artificially damaged by breaking wires constituting the samples at different percentages. The experimental results obtained have allowed us to follow the evolution of the damage and quantify it. Thereafter, it was possible to identify three stages of damage. Therefore, be able to intervene in time for predictive maintenance. This study also includes a correlation between two methods of calculating the damage namely static damage and damage by unified theory and this by analogy to cyclical behavior. The comparison shows good agreement.

Relations between Structural Damage and Level of External Prestressing Force ...drboon
Prestressed concrete beams can be damaged by overloading beyond cracking stage leading to the reduction of flexural rigidity and excessive deflection. The progressive of damage, crack and permanent deflection can be occurred at the high level of load after cracking. Structural performance of damaged girder can be recovered and improved by external post tension. The level of external prestressing force required in strengthening depends directly on the level of damage due to overloading. This research studied the effect of levels of damage on flexural rigidity, crack and deflection of the test girder. Three levels of damage can be expressed in terms of 0.65, 0.75 and 0.85 times the predicted ultimate load of the test beam. Three levels of external prestressing forces (2, 2.5 and 3 times of the internal prestressing force applied in undamaged reference beam) are applied in strengthening at each level of damage. The results show that reduced flexural rigidity, increased permanent deformation and crack width due to overloading can be recovered by external post tension. Strengthening by means of external post tension can be effectively applied to the damaged beam at the level of damage not more than 0.65 times of predicted ultimate load.

GIRDER DESIGN OF A BALANCED CANTILEVER BRIDGE WITH ANALYSIS USING MIDAS CIVILAM Publications
Balanced cantilever bridges are used for special requirements like 1) Construction over traffic 2) Short lead time compared to steel 3) Use local labour and materials. If continuous spans are used, the governing bending moment can minimised and hence the individual span length can increase. But unyielding supports are required for continuous construction. Hence for the medium span in the range of about 35 to 60 m, a combination of supported span, cantilever and suspended span can be adopted and bridge with this type of superstructure is known as balanced cantilever bridge. This chapter include the analysis and design of a 50m span prestressed balanced cantilever bridge which comprises of 6 numbers of Pre-Cast Post Tensioned-I Girder 38m long Simply Supported at one end and connected through a Cast-in-Situ Stitch Concrete to a Continuous Balanced Cantilever Box Girder (2x11m). The bridge structure has been modelled by Finite element Technique using MIDAS Civil and analysis has been performed to get various output such as primary and secondary bending moment, shear forces and torsion quantities at various locations of the bridge. The design of super structure is performed as per IRC standards.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
