This study explores the effects of blending hydrogen with compressed natural gas (CNG) on the performance and emissions of a multi-cylinder S.I. engine. Results show that adding hydrogen (up to 13 wt%) leads to significant reductions in CO2 and NOx emissions, alongside improvements in brake thermal efficiency, while a slight power drop is observed due to reduced energy content. The optimal hydrogen blend was found to significantly reduce carbon-based emissions without compromising power output compared to CNG alone.
