 Concrete is one of the most commonly used
building materials.
 Concrete is a composite material made from
several readily available constituents
(aggregates, sand, cement, water).
 Concrete is a versatile material that can easily
be mixed to meet a variety of special needs
and formed to virtually any shape.

(100nm to 300 um) that harden on reacting with water.
There are many types of cements used:
 Portland cements
 Ordinary cement
 White cement, etc.

Aggregate is the granular material, such as sand, gravel, crushed stone,
crushed blast-furnace slag, or construction and demolition waste that is
used with a cementing medium to produce either concrete or mortar.
Fine aggregate less than 5mm
Coarse aggregate usually more then 5 mm
Density of normal aggregates 2.8 g/cm3
