OBJECTIVES
In this assignment I will review the accounting software appropriate to the outlined hypothetical
company. On the one hand, I will consider advantages and disadvantages of the software which are
relevant to the proper management of the company. On the other hand I will demonstrate the
relevant connection of the accounting software to the financial management of the company.

Sales management is connected with purchasing management and inventory control to provide
better analysis of the data. The software supports controls of purchasing materials, orders, goods
receipt and payment.
INVENTORY CONTROL (IC)
The inventory control in Emfibia Limited is another important area. The company has to have
organised importation by having large numbers of inventory. Therefore, the company can start
losing the capital. This is why they require appropriate analysis with stock valuation and the
movement of the goods. Sage ERP X3 runs on similar principles to manual ones, but this software is
more flexible and it is possible to receive the information in real time. Inventory Control is closely
connected with the manufacturing management. The software uses Kanban method of Just in Time
production. The information can be grouped by cost centres, price lists. The important tool is to
forecast the future cost. When the company will prepare new production in six months time, the
software can analyze the actual cost of the production.
HUMAN RESOURCES (HR)
When company has 240 employees it needs an efficient HR Management. Emfibia Limited provides
a variety of salaries, contracts and benefits for the employees. Sage has all the important covered
with applications necessary for Personnel Management, Benefit Management, Payroll Management,

Descriptive Experience Of Plant Life
I had imagined the residents to be desperate due to the poverty they face and the small room
sized shacks they live in that resemble a poorly built shed and lack air conditioning, the thought
of which made me shudder as the intense heat of the did not expect much from the Dominican
Republic but from the minute I stepped into the heat and humidity I could tell that there was
something different about it from the thatched roof and marbled floor of the airport, the
sparkling turquoise blue sea and the pearly white sand lining the horizon, it seemed like a
fairytale. Walking through the heat I could smell the floral scent of the plant life that thrived as
far as the eye could see this filled me with nostalgia as I remembered back to my first holiday. I
expected the non tourist areas to resemble heart wrenching poverty and i thought that they would
fill me with an overwhelming drowning sensation of helplessness but it was actually the most
beautiful, serene place I had ever seen. Lavish palm trees lined the roads towering over
everyone, vast amounts of brightly coloured plant life was blooming in every colour of the
rainbow as far as the eye could see and the snow white sand lined the turquoise sea. Groups of
people were laughing on pavements composed of dirt, in front of the amazing plant life whose deep
green leaves and luminous petals wsun bit into the top of my head. They all seemed so happy,
despite everything, which warmed my heart. Confusion and amazement ripped through

Application Of Identification For Biometrics
In order for biometrics to work, there must be a database of information containing substantial
information on each individual. By nature, biometric systems collect more information than just
the users fingerprints, retinal patterns or other biometric data. An individual who uses a
fingerprint contact system allows government agencies and local law enforcement access to
their every move. Most systems will record the whereabouts of an individual at the time of scan.
Organizations will have the ability to anticipate the actions of an individual, and the loss of
privacy will grow tremendously. Cross trading of an individual s personal data will increase, as
an organization will have the attainability to share data in the market. If biometric details such as
your fingerprints are compromised, it is not going to be possible to provide you with a new scan
right away. Pam Dixon s honey pot analogy has some truth, but in the end law breakers will be
held accountable for their actions. Individuals on probation or parole already have to report their
whereabouts to a law official. However, the common citizen is placed under surveillance and
constant security breaches that could ruin their credit, reputation and lives. For those who have
overcome their past mistakes in the judicial system, they will be constantly criticize and monitored
for their personal consumer purchases. No technology is perfect, any loss of data, hackers or
terrorist threats to the database would cause a

North Carolina Tar Heels Research Paper
ВЁUNI has knocked off the #1 North Carolina Tar Heels!ВЁ Gary Rima
***
I have been a UNI men s basketball fan for a long time, and I had been waiting forever for this
basketball game to happen. It was the UNI Panthers vs North Carolina Tar Heels game. The reason
Northern Iowa scheduled this matchup was because North Carolina point guard Marcus Paige was
supposed to play, but he suffered from a broken bone injury in his hand so he couldn t play. Marcus
Paige played for Linn Mar High School with his teammate, Matt Bohannon, who is UNI Panther
player. ВЁSo anything could happen, right? I asked my dad, ВЁDad, do you think UNI is going to

UNI upset the #1 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels 71 67! I saw the crowd of purple and gold
rushed the court to celebrate this huge win! People began yelling and cheering on what a huge win
this was.
ВЁI was right, Dad!ВЁ
ВЁI guess you are right, Nick,ВЁ said Dad.
ВЁThis win would get sports coverage on Sportscenter and all over the sports world!ВЁ
ВЁI know and this is a great recognition for the great town of Cedar Falls, Iowa,ВЁ said Dad.
Drew came over by us after the game and I said, ВЁThe better team won, Drew!ВЁ
ВЁYeah, yeah, yeah,ВЁ said Drew.
We wanted to see if any North Carolina players came out after the game and they did. Marcus
Paige came out. Drew and I asked him for a picture, but he wanted to talk to his friends and family
first. We couldn t get a picture with him, but we did get a picture with Justin Jackson. I told him,
ВЁKeep up the great work!ВЁ
ВЁThank you,ВЁ he said.
As we walked out of the McLeod Center, I learned that I experience history wherever I go. I can
also say that any team can be beaten on any given day. Even if your record is bad you can still

Spartan Women vs Athenian Women
Most people think of ancient Athens as the city of freedom and democracy, while they think of
Sparta as a highly restricted society. The schools teach us that modern democracies are modeled on
Athens, while military dictatorships are modeled on Sparta. However, history shows us that women
had much more liberty in Spartathan in Athens. In fact, the democracy of Athens was available only
to free men who were citizens of Athens. Moreover, to claim citizenship, an Athenian had to prove
that both his parents were astoi. For the father, being astos meant that he was an Athenian citizen,
but the mother could not be a citizen. Women were never citizens, but only able to transmit the
rights of citizenship to their sons (Perry, et al, 1992,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The social standing of the Hetaerae was at best at the level of prostitutes, and the level of power
they achieved was only slightly significant (Cantarella Lefkowitz, 1987, pp. 49 50).
Status of Spartan Women in Society
Life in Sparta was oriented around the state. The individual lived and died for the state. Their lives
were designed to serve the state from their beginning to the age of sixty. Ironically, this soldier
centered state was the most liberal state with regard to the status of women.
Education
Women did not go through military training, but they were required to be educated in a similar
manner. The Spartans were the only Greeks who took seriously the education of women and also
established it as state policy. This was not an academic education for the women or the men. It
was a physical education that could be demanding. Infant girls were also exposed to die if they
were judged to be weak. The children were given physical and gymnastics training. They were also
taught that their lives should be dedicated to the state (Cantarella Lefkowitz, 1987, pp. 42 43).
In most Greek states, women were required to stay indoors at all times, although only the upper
classes could afford to observe this custom. Spartan women, on the other hand, were free to move
about, and had an unusual amount of

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Outsourcing Digital Marketing
The Pros and Cons of Outsourcing Your Website s Digital Marketing
There is no doubt that the option to outsource digital marketing activities for your company
website is appealing. Outsourcing is at most times convenient and blows less of a hole in your
budget than hiring a full fledged in house team. You may securely leave your company s marketing
to a specialized target= _blank Digital Marketing Agency or, better still, utilize the services of a
skilled (and affordable) freelancer, while you concentrate your entire focus on the areas of your
business that need your undivided attention.
Not all companies can afford to hire digital specialists, who belong to a new breed of journeymen
of all trades in online marketing having skills in SEO, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But keep in mind the advantages that an agency can bring to you a team of freelancers with
various skills and their own selection process may beat the extra cost.
Do not forget that even with freelancers and outsourced agencies you get what you pay for. If
you pay for cheap SEO, you may end up with poor quality links and content that could get you in
Google s black books. If a candidate promises 50,000 Instagram friends for $100, these are likely
to be fake friends. A $5 an hour website marketer is equally suspect if such people do not value
their own time, how can you expect them to value the work they deliver? 3.Flexibility:
Outsourcing lets you hire only when you need work done, especially if the projects do not have
mission critical deadlines. Freelancers are often more flexible than employees on your payroll,
working 9 to 5. There are cases when you may want to hire a freelancer despite having a small in
house team, to handle all the extra work that your in house team cannot manage. In such cases, you
can achieve a fine balance of productivity between projects on deadline and more flexible

Women in Hills like White Elephants and The Yellow...
Through history women have fought for equal rights and freedom. This tension is derived from
men; society, in general; and within a woman herself. In the nineteenth century, women in
literature were often portrayed as submissive to men. Literature of this period often characterized
women as oppressed by society, as well as by the male influences in their lives. This era is
especially interesting because it is a time in modern society when women were still treated as
second class citizens. Two interesting short stories, Hills like White Elephants and The Yellow
Wallpaper focus on a womans plight near the turn of the nineteenth century. Both authors,
Hemmingway and Gilman, leave an open end to the stories and allow readers to create... Show more

Instructed to abandon her intellectual life and avoid stimulating company, she sinks into a still
deeper depression invisible to her husband, which is also her doctor, who believes he knows
what is best for her. Alone in the yellow wallpapered nursery of a rented house, she descends into
madness. Everyday she keeps looking at the torn yellow wallpaper. While there, she is forbidden
to write in her journal, as it indulges her imagination, which is not in accordance with her husband
s wishes. Despite this, the narrator makes entries in the journal whenever she has the opportunity.
Through these entries we learn of her obsession with the wallpaper in her bedroom. She is
enthralled with it and studies the paper for hours. She thinks she sees a woman trapped behind the
pattern in the paper. The story reaches its climax when her husband must force his way into the
bedroom, only to find that his wife has pulled the paper off the wall and is crawling around the
perimeter of the room.
Hills Like White Elephants and The Yellow Wallpaper are both about couples dealing with a
delicate situation in a time when the power of men over women is obvious. The characters in both
stories show that the man has more control and authority than the woman. Hills Like White
Elephants demonstrates this through the use of the setting, time restrictions, and poor
communication exhibited by the couple. In The Yellow

Nightmare On Elm Street Movie Comparison Essay
Kaylin Brooks English 1010 October 6, 2017 Nightmare On Elm Street Remake VS. Original
Me being a total horror movie fanatic and with the remake craze taking the horror genre by
storm, we all compare the remake to the original while we re watching it. One of the most
classic horror films of all time, Nightmare on Elm Street, was originally made in 1984 and later
got remade in 2010 after a slew of sequels. When Nightmare on Elm Street got a remake,
everyone at that time had split decisions about the new movie. Me personally, I am not a big fan
of remakes, but since I am such a fan of scary movies, I went in with an open mind and actually
liked it a lot. I have seen this movie hundreds of time since the movie came out and my sentiments

They made Freddy look more human as opposed to the original, where the makeup was
cartoonish and devilish. In the original Freddy was completely red. Freddy is also known for
the red and green striped sweater and razor glove. The sweater is pretty much the same in both
films, but the glove in the remake is much more intricate, probably due to technology, in the
remake. Even the sounds on the gloves, when Freddy is rubbing his fingers together, are much
sharper an realistic. In the 1984 classic, Freddy was about psychologically attacking his victims.
He liked to play off of his victim s fears and when they went to sleep he would bring their fears
into their nightmares resulting to their demise. But in the remake, Freddy would attack his
victims physically and in their dreams, he would constantly remind them of how he died causing
them to develop insomnia. Also making them have psychotic breakdowns and killing themselves.
In both films, Freddy Kruger preyed on the children of the parents that killed him. The parents
decided to kill him because they believed he was molesting their children while he was working
as a gardener at their children school. The parent burned him alive. That storyline remained
constant in both movies. His favorite target in both movies was Nancy. There were some changes
to Nancy in the remake, they changed her last name from Thompson to Holbrook. In 1984 Nancy
was played by Heather Langenkamp and in 2010, Nancy was played by Rooney Mara.

What Creates An Idea Group, And Group Levels And Virtues
Opinion? Or Fact?
(What is justice, what creates an idea group, and group levels and virtues)
There are many good reasons why, as citizens and as scientists, we should be concerned with
studying the ways in which human beings form their opinions and the role that social conditions
play. (Elliot Aronson, Page 17) It s human nature to instantly form an opinion of someone or
something. There s really no way around it. When someone forms an opinion, they think of their
opinion as true, or fact. But can an opinion be fact unless it s proved? That s a legit question for
Republic. Throughout the entire book of Republic, Socrates argues for many different objectives. It
can be assumed that his opinions were never, and were always, stated. ... Show more content on

They are trained specifically for that job and they are trained very well so they can perfectly
perform their operation to make the group run very smoothly. An example of this is leaders and
followers. A leader must be taught to lead and they must be able to lead well. People must be
taught to be followers and to not try to take the position of a leader. Without followers, there are
no leaders. If people can be taught to follow efficiently and the leaders are taught to lead
efficiently, there will be harmony. Don t forget, harmony is a key component of an ideal group
along with unity and balance. Unity needs to be present as well to form an ideal group and stems
from each person within the group doing is or her job. Each of these constituents are achievable
and will form an ideal group if and only if there has been a quality education given to each person.
A person s education started way before they were even born. Each choice that was made by their

clarification of the concept of lifelong education (Dave, R.H.) The clarification is that a lifelong
education doesn t start or stop with school. It s a must more vast time period than that. Education is

Problem The relationship between the use of social networking sites and depression may be
complex, however; there may be a link. For instance, when people spend long periods of time on
social networking, they may be discourage to participate in other activities that promote
emotional health. Activities involving exercising or meeting with friends and family.
Moreover, many adolescents are trying to establish an identity and build self esteem. These
things can be hard to do when it becomes hard to keep up with the lifestyle of others on the
media. I have to admit, I have had a mild form of depression when my friend is vacationing in
Mexico twice a year I haven t had a vacation in almost three years. For these reasons, people start
to question who they are and where they want to be based on the status of others. Many people
will not admit they are depressed because they can t live up to the friend who is thinner, has
more friends, and able to travel the world. This can cause a real threat to the society of social
networking. Solution One possible solution is to raise awareness on the connection between social
networking and depression. Social networking companies should acknowledge the possibilities of
depression and inform their users of the dangers of over usage. Like many products on the market,
if a warning sign is necessary, inform the consumer of the dangers it can cause. Furthermore, they
should provide a hotline to report illnesses

Relationship With Religion In John Donne s Holy Sonnet XIX
Holy Sonnet XIX Oh, to vex me, contraries meet in one: 1 Inconstancy unnaturally hath begot 2
A constant habit; that when I would not 3 I change in vows, and in devotion. 4 As humorous is
my contrition 5 As profrane love, and as soon forgot:6 As riddingly distempered, cold and hot,7
As praying, as mute; as infinite, as none.8 I durst not view in heaven yesterday; and today9 In
prayers and flattering speeches I court God:10 Tomorrow I wake with true fear of his rod.11 So
my devout fits come and go away12 Like a fantastic ague; save that here13 Those are my best
days, when I shake with feare14. After reading this piece of writing from John Donne, it
becomes very clear that the writer is having an internal conflict with himself. He is going back
and forth in his own mind about how he truly feels about religion. John uses many different tones,
word choices, and metaphors to get this point across to the reader. Overall, after getting a closer
look at this writing one can see that this is clearly about John and his relationship with religion.
More specifically, this passage shows how John is frustrated with his internal conflict over if he is
religious or not. In the end however, it becomes apparent that he truly knows how he should feel. To
begin, lines one through three set the tone throughout the entire paper. For instance, line one says
Oh, to vex me, contraries meet in one:... (Line 1). With the beginning Oh it gives off an exhausted
or frustrated tone (Line 1). This

Cultural Culture In Kuwait
Introduction
The term culture is one of those words that we use routinely, but what is it exactly? Basically,
culture is the multipart overall of a society which includes everything that gives a society an
identity. Culture may consist of customs, languages, and religion beliefs amid other characteristics
that are ordinary to people of a nation/region. What is predominantly interesting about cultures is
that each culture, no matter where it is located, shares at least five basic characteristics. However,
every culture has its own distinct characteristics that differentiate it from the others. One of such
cultures is the Kuwait culture. This culture awareness essay will attempt to emphasis on cultural
aspects of the people of Kuwait while drawing your attention to the social culture annalists of
Kuwait nation/region s physical geography, current and passed military conflicts and their impact
on the society, weather, and civil concern.
The Kuwaiti culture is dominant in Kuwait where the people originate. They were primary drawn
to the Kuwait Bay region because of the resources from the sea, and majority of the population still
lives within a short distance of the first coastal colonies. Kuwait exists in the middle east which
borders the Persian Gulf, sandwiched between Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Kuwait have a unique culture

vengeful neighbors. These vengeful acts, however, were a direct result of tensions in and around
the colonies. In a new land faced by harsh weather, disease, and war with neighboring Native
American tribes, many colonists needed an escape, something they could easily control and defeat.
Accusing neighbors of witchcraft, was not only an act of revenge, but a way for colonists to band
together against a common enemy they could destroy. They essentially created a substitute for their
fears and hatred.
Connecticut had already begun to face a renewal of Indian attacks, and dissention between Quakers
and Anglicans, as Stamford begin to experience witch accusations. Goodbeer mentions, in his
Afterword, that the rhetoric used to describe increasing tensions caused by Indian attacks and
religious conflicts was similar to what was used to describe witches. Portraying them as being
worshipers of Satan. In small communities, like those of the Puritans in the colonies, congressional
members were expected to be friendly, kind and generous at all times. Any deviation from this
norm resulted in aggravated neighbors who would then proceed to call that person a witch. Puritans
were not particularly bothered by those who were healers, or practiced the occults, but rather were
bothered by those who did them

Environmental Problems Caused By Deforestation
he world that individuals know today, is not how it used to be before. Before the modern industrial
period, living beings were not having problems such as losing their habitats or worrying about the
water and the oil spilled in the ocean. People at this time live in different types of environment that
are constantly changing because humans are overusing the natural resources that the Earth provides
to them. The planet is going through a lot of environmental problems. These problems affect all the
living beings on Earth. Some of the examples are global warming, pollution of air, water, land,
overpopulation, climate change, deforestation, etc. Our planet is facing severe environmental crises

One of the causes of water scarcity according to J, Rinkesh, a writer in conserve energy
future.com, Water overuse is a huge issue that a lot of people are dealing with. It may be
overused on people, animals, land, or any other number of things. It may also be used for
recreational activities without any care about the effects that it may have on the world around
them. . Also, the same writer talked about the effects. Rinkesh states, Without access to clean
water, there is no way to clean food, dishes, or people. When people are not given access to
proper sanitation, disease ends up becoming much more of an issue than it would have been
otherwise. Meanwhile, Rinkesh pointed one solution that might help people. He says, There are
organizations located all over the world that are looking to bring clean water to areas that don t
have it. Furthermore, water scarcity affects many places around the world. For example, United
States is one of the countries that is facing problems with water. A report written by Lubber Mindy,
called The Ripple Effect explains that the most water stressed regions are Los Angeles, Phoenix,
Dallas and Atlanta. Deepening the report, Los Angeles and Atlanta are the states with the highest
risk of water scarcity because their water utility system bonds present problems. According to
Lubber, some of the nation s largest public utilities may face moderate to severe water supply

Similarities And Differences Between Gnosticism And...
Gnosticism is nearly as old as Christianity and some would argue very similar to Christianity in
beliefs. However, there are distinct differences to Gnosticism in beliefs, doctrines, and practices
from, and practices of Christianity. Gnosticism had several key leaders during its early years, few
of whom we will discuss at further length later in this paper. There were also several key leaders of
the early Christian church who denounced Gnosticismfor heresy and claimed that it was pseudo
way to Christianity. Up until the 1900 s, very little was known about the precise beliefs of
Gnosticism, then this changed with the discovery of the Nag Hammadi works which may have
been written by Valentinus. Gnosticism is a more distinct religion than it... Show more content on

Their idea of salvation is that God sent a spiritual redeemer to teach those humans that will listen
where their true home is and that they can obtain their salvation through self knowledge. Gnostics
held to the idea that Jesus was the spiritual redeemer sent from God to teach humans about their
true home. However they did not believe as Christians do that Jesus was the incarnate of God
because they believed that all material is evil and that God could not take on the form of a human
who died and rose bodily. To justify that Jesus was indeed their spiritual redeemer they claimed
that whoever entered Jesus at his baptism left him before his death on the cross. So while Gnostics
identify themselves as Christians many of their doctrines are not biblically based.
Scholars have not found sufficient proof, but tradition holds that Simon Magus and Cerinthus were
the founders of the Gnostic faith. Tradition also holds that Paul on his second missionary journey
encountered Simon and his beliefs of Gnosticism. Later we will discuss Paul s views of
Gnosticism. Cerinthus was a Jewish Gnostic from Asia Minor who lived around 100 A.D.
Gnosticism was perhaps the most well known in Alexandria because from there haled Valentinus
most famous of all Alexandrian Gnostics. Valentinus wrote his Letter to Rheginos in order to clarify

Persuasive Essay On Fur Slaughtering
According to Born Free USA, more than fifty million animals a year are violently killed and
used for fashion. What do you think of when you think of an animal being used for fashion ?
Animals of all sorts are being raised to where they are big enough to be killed and used for their
fur and their skin to make all kinds of clothing including coats, socks and pants. At least fifty
million animals are used for that EVERY YEAR. Fifty million doesn t seem like a significant
amount, considering how many animals there are in the world. That is about 136,000 animals
being slaughtered every day for their skin. Consider all types of animals, not just house pets; bears,
tigers, deer, birds and water animals. Think about all the animalsthat get put down and day or when
people hunt how many animals are killed or animals accidentally hit by a car a year. Add that

to a prep school to prepare myself for Yale University. I went to Yale and joined the engineering
department of the Sheffield Scientific School. After about two years, just before completing the
three year program, I dropped out of Yale. I dropped out to seek my fortune saying later, I felt the
time was ripe to acquire timber. The evergreen state s population was increasing. The nation
demanded lumber for new homes and businesses. I then moved to Washingtonstate and started the

Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR, is an initiative companies voluntarily take part in to give

responsibility, such as environmental conservation and sustainability, diversity and equal
employment opportunity, and volunteer service projects and charitable giving. The number of
companies embracing the practice of corporate social responsibility has increased in recent years,
as the public has formulated higher expectations that companies act responsibly. Numerous
companies have given in to this pressure and have adopted policies to show the public that they
value the different domains of CSR. However, despite this attempt to become more socially
responsible, companies may excel in some areas while they lag in others, leading to a mixture of
both positive and negative CSR within the same company. Daimler is one company that has both

The Importance Of Checking FICO Scores
Why should I check my credit score?
Knowing your score can give you a general idea of what kinds of financial products and loans
you can access. Additionally, if you check your score and it isn t what you expected, this may be
indicative of fraud or identity theft. Checking your score regularly can help you catch things early
and clean up any problems.
In laymen s terms, what is my FICO score?
It is a number created and published by the Fair Isaac Corporation. The standard range is from 300
to 800. The average U.S. consumer has a score of 637. Higher is better. Ideally, you want to be at
700 or higher. A higher score lets you borrow more moneyand qualify for lower interest rates.

These usually do not offer access to your actual FICO score. They offer an estimate of your credit
score. It may be off by a few points. These are primarily considered to be educational tools.
For example, Credit Karma gets you access to a score based on information from TransUnion and
Equifax but not Experian. Credit.com gets bases their score on information from Experian.
Mint.com uses information from Equifax, and Credit Sesame uses information from TransUnion.
How can I improve my score?
You should be paying all your bills on time consistently. Even if you have plenty of money, late
payments reflect badly on your credit history. If you have too much debt for your income, you need
to work at paying it down. If you are living beyond your means, you need to change that fact.
Although financial products may help, this is mostly about earning more and spending less.
Why do there seem to be so many new ways to check my score?
This is due to a relatively recent policy change. FICO has a new program called FICO Score Open
Access.
If you have any long term goals, such as home ownership or college for your child, you should go
ahead and get free FICO scores today. Knowing where you currently stand is an essential first step
in figuring out how to get there from

The Pros And Cons Of Cochlear Implants
Cochlear Implants are an object that is very controversial in the deaf community. A Cochlear
Implants is a device that provdes direct electrical stimulation to the auditory (hearing) nerve in the
inner ear. ( Cochlear Implants ) Cochlear Implants bypass the damaged hair cells, and directly
stimulate the auditory nerve. Depending on when the Cochlear Implantis implanted it allows people
to hear sounds, and sometimes even their own voice. While it does not cure hearing loss or
deafness, it does allow people to hear. On more technical terms a Cochlear Implant includes
parts like a microphone, speech processor, and a transmitter which each play a different part in
the Cochlear Implant. The microphone picks up sounds, sends them to the speech processer,
and then the speech processor analyzes and digitized the sound signal, thus sending them to a
transmitter worn on the head. The debate of whether or not Cochlear Implants are right in the
deaf community is one that has been going on for years. People believe having Cochlear
Implants are a good thing, because they allow deaf people to communicate with hearing people, it
allows people who are not helped by conventional hearing aids to be helped, and it creates new
possibilities for deaf people. However there are also people that argue that having a Cochlear
Implant is a bad thing, because it proposes the idea that deaf people need to be fixed, it can give
deaf people false hope, and it proposes the idea that deaf people have a

Meta: If you learn what to expect from a Virgo woman in love, you can navigate the ups and downs

are uptight, hypochondriacs who are impossible to truly know. This is generally not the case

around you, she will blossom into the sensual, loving woman of your dreams.
Overview of a Virgo Woman in Love
A Virgo woman in love is exceptionally loyal and extremely sensual. She also tends to be
extremely modest. Even if she is the best writer, athlete or entrepreneur in the world, she won t
shout it from the rooftops. Instead, she will embrace her private life and avoid the spotlight. This

who just needs to know people quite well before she is willing to trust them with her heart.

A Virgo Woman in a Relationship

partner who will cook for you, clean your home and care for your children unless you stop her.
You should stop her though. She will give her everything to you and leave nothing for herself, so
you need to limit her selfless nature. Because of her selfless tendencies, a Virgo woman in love is
easily taken advantage of, so be careful not to take her for granted.
This is one astrological sign that is entirely worth your trust. A Virgo man might not be completely
trustworthy, but a Virgo woman is worth your loyalty. She is too intelligent, moral and loyal to
consider adultery. While she does not

Immelt Takes Charge: New Demands, New Responsesa
On Friday, September 7, 2001, 43 year old Jeff Immelt became GE s ninth CEO in its 109 year
history. Four days later, two planes crashed into the World Trade Center towers. In the turmoil that
followed, an already fragile post Internet bubble stock market dropped further, and the subsequent
downturn in the economy resulted in a drop in confidence that spread rapidly around the globe.
Despite his many efforts to tighten operations while continuing to grow the business, the new
CEO did not have an easy initiation as he tried to deal with the resulting economic downturn, the
post Enron suspicions of large corporations, and the growing global political instability. In 2002,
after promising that earnings would grow by double digits, Immelt had to report a modest 7%

GE s profits on revenues that were up only 5% on the 2001 sales, which had declined 3% from the

A Comparison of the Unites States and Canada s Health Care System America has a very

United States Health Care System and it s Benefits The United States health care system is

Examples Of Hyperboles And Pathos In The Giraffe
The short story The Giraffe by Mauro Senesi uses hyperboles and pathos to demonstrate how quick
society is to discriminate and be neglectful based on the fear of the unknown. Ultimately depicting
that misconceptions created by society can influence how change is perceived and welcomed. The
Giraffe is a fictional short storythat is about a giraffe that is introduced into an environment where
mentalities are outdated when it comes to things that are out of the norm . This new tall animal is
viewed as a massive threat and is severly unwelcomed by the townspeople. Although the giraffe
was not welcome the boys of this small town decide to keep it but face jurastic consquences when
caring for the animal becomes a hassle.
Firstly, Senesi uses hyperboles in The Giraffe to show how society despises new ideas and change,
which restricts citizens to adapt to grow as people in society. An example when the boys were
walking with the giraffe through the streets of the village they described the roofs couldn t
imprison that high head, and [...] the giraffe [was] our periscope, to see from up above who
knows what, who knows where (Senesi, line 47 51). Clearly this quote is a hyperbole since the boys
and giraffe are walking on the streets and a roof is unable to inprison someone who is walking
outdoors. What the author is trying to convey is that the boys are starting to pay attention to issues
in their community that they used to be oblivious to. Furthermore, Senesi criticizes how

Although tallying just two deaths, Ed Gein is one of America s most infamous murderers. His
notorious killings are remembered as being among the most perverse of any this century. His
lunatic atrocities were magnified by the number of victims who fell prey to his sick deeds and who
also fueled his numerous habits of cannibalism, necrophilia of women, and his obsession with the

George Gein died, leaving Augusta with Henry, 38 and Ed, 34 who worked as handymen in
nearby Plainfield to pay the household bills. Henry would frequently bad mouth his mother

The police chose to ignore two marks on the back of his head and put Henry s death down to him

The Deployment Of Military Personnel
What happens to those left behind when a member of the U.S. military gets deployed? At the end
of 2013, there were over 1.4 million active duty U.S. military personnel, of which approximately
half have a spouse and/or children. Once deployment orders are received these servicemen and
women must say goodbye to their loved ones for up to fifteen months. During this time of
separation, the families will go through dramatic changes in an effort to make up for the absence of
a spouse and/or parent. The deployment of military personnel adversely affects their families by
causing negative emotional and/or behavioral changes, by continuously altering the framework of
the familydynamic, and by increasing the risk factors for divorce upon their post deployment
reintegration.
Deployment of a parent and/or spouse can cause a myriad of behavioral and/or emotional changes
in the family members left behind. The stress of deployment on the spouse left at home can cause
mental health issues that have a negative impact on their relationship with their child(ren) and their
parenting practices (Swenson Wolff, 2011). Subsequently, a spouse left to parent and carry on
alone for months on end may begin to feel the weight of their compounded responsibilities, the fear
for their spouse s safety, and the heartache of loneliness in such a deep way that depression,
insomnia, and anxiety lead them to needing medication and/or therapy. The children in these

To draw attention to a specific topic in the texts emphasis is created through other methods.
Authors can fix the reader s attention to specific details they want to emphasize through the
point of view in the story. In both texts, different points of views are used to highlight the serious
outcomes of language barriers. Sinclair uses 3rd person omniscient point of view throughout the
story and focuses on Jurgis experiences and actions. Using an omniscient point of view allows
Sinclair to explain to the reader the outcome of certain actions before the characters experience
them. As the family first experiences the setting of their new life, the narration is used to show
their lack of knowledge: They were not sure that it was unpleasant, this odor; some might have

towards a future filled with unhappiness, it foreshadows devastation from a lack of knowledge
about the new environment. From the narration the reader knows the future of the family but the
characters themselves are not aware: Elzbieta, alas, did not read the papers, and no one had told

with respects to the mass migration. The policy concerning migration at the European Unionlevel
states that each nation has the right to their own migration policies, while adhering to the European
migration institutions, which are not fully established. So far, many of the migrants coming to
Europe are settling in Italy and Greece; many hope to be able to reach Germany as their final
destination. The important underlining problem is the fact that these migrants are arriving and
staying in Italy and Greece. Both Italy and Greece are going through an economic crisis that cannot
sustain the migrants that are landing within their borders; they are asking the European Union to
give them relief, by imposing quotas to redistribute the migrants to other European nations that are
a part of the migration policy. The migrant crisis also brings insecurity to nations such as Italy and
Greece because of they are not prepared to deal with the amount of people entering in their borders.

Stuxnet Virus
According to counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke, Stuxnet was a weaponized malware computer
worm. Stuxnet was launched in mid 2009, it did major damage to Iran s nuclear program in 2010
and then spread to computers all over the world (Clarke, 2012).
Type of Breach
The Stuxnet is a computer worm, it is a digital ghost with countless lines of code... it was able to
worm its way into Iran s nuclear fuel enrichment facility in Natanz, Iran (Clarke, 2012). A worm is
a program that spreads copies of itself through a network and a worm can also spread copies of
itself as a stand alone program (Pfleeger amp; Pfleeger, 2007).
How the Breach Occurred
On June 17, 2010, Sergey Ulasen, head of a small computer security firm called ... Show more

VirusBlokAda reported the vulnerability to Microsoft and Microsoft named the malware Stuxnet
from a combination of file names (.stub and MrxNet.sys) found in the code (Zetter, 2011). One of
the Stuxnet s driver files used a valid signed certificate stolen from RealTek Semiconductor, a
hardware maker in Taiwan, in order to trick the systems into thinking the malware was a trusted
program from RealTek (Zetter, 2011). Internet authorities quickly revoked the certificate. But
another Stuxnet driver was found using a second certificate; this new certificate was stolen from
JMicron Technology, a circuit maker in Taiwan that was coincidentally or not headquartered in the
same business park as RealTek (Zetter, 2011).
The experts said that the virus was designed to target Simatic WinCC Step7 software; which is an
industrial control system made by the German conglomerate Siemens. The system was used to
program controllers that drive motors, valves and switches in everything from food factories and
automobile assembly lines to gas pipelines and water treatment plants (Zetter, 2011). This happens
to be the same software that was used at Natanz facility. The Stuxnet virus looked for industrial
control systems and then altered the code in them to allow the attackers to take control of these
systems without the operators knowing (The Stuxnet Worm: Symantec). In other words, the
Stuxnet worm was designed to allow hackers to manipulate real world equipment, which makes the

Hubris and Drama in Antigone Hubris may be categorized as two things. As a part of the Greek
theater hubris qualifies as being the intentional use of violence to humiliate or degrade (Luebering).
However, a more modern qualification defines hubris as exaggerated pride or self confidence
(Hubris). Throughout Antigone both of these different characterizations of the word hubris can be
found in specific events and characters. Being a Greek tragedy, it is evident that the concept of
hubris plays a very important role in the development of characters and provides the reasoning for
why each person does what they do. Much of the drama in this play is born from either excessive
pride or from the unnecessary violence against sacred rituals or those who perform them.
However, it is also possible to notice characters who fall outside of this hubris and rather choose to
fight against it. By going against this traditional Greek dramatic element these characters highlight
the injustices that are being displayed by those they are going against. Overall, the impact that
hubris has had on this tragedy and on the culture as whole affects how each of the characters either
use hubris to advance both themselves and their goals, or choose to fight against it for the good of
those around them. The incorporation of hubris into Antigone can be visualized specifically by
examining two characters in particular. The first character is

Phase Autobiography
What are those? I asked my mom, walking through Toys R Us and pointing at a large box.
Those are Legos, you can put them together and build things, she responded.
I stared at them, repeating the name in my head. Legos. It was a funny name. They looked like
colorful bricks with holes in them. Can we get them? I asked. Sure enough, we were carrying a box
of them to the checkout section.
Crazy as it seemed, the small blocks mesmerized me as a kid. The different colors, sizes, shapes,
all were astounding. Blue, yellow, green, red, all the colors I had heard of were there. The way
they could stack up together, how they could seemingly transform into anything I wanted, was
amazing to me. I would sit on a Lego board that we had bought ... Show more content on

We walked through the building toys section and I saw an amazing, 2005 piece Mega Bloxв„ў
Space Shuttle. It was by far the largest Lego set I saw in a box. It was supposed to stretch 3 feet
long, and it could open up and have a telescope come out of it. it even had sound effects with
different sayings like, we re ready for takeoff. I had learned all this just by reading off the box at the
store, and I knew I just had to have it.
Can I... Before I finished my sentence, my mom said, Can you finish it? That is what you should
be asking yourself. I don t want to buy you something that expensive unless I know you can
finish it. Of course I can, I m the best at Legos. I had no doubt of finishing it while we took it
home. I got to work right away, but I knew from the start that this was going to take much longer
than any other Lego I had done before. The pieces piled high and the instructions went on forever. It
was the ultimate challenge.
The ultimate challenge was a bit too challenging. I grew tired of building the shuttle, and soon
gave up on it. It was too long for me. This began the downfall of my addiction to Legos. Soon, I
also began getting tired of rebuilding the battleship over and over again, and the instructions for the
rides of Kaynexв„ў got lost when our basement flooded. Also, I wasn t allowed to get any new
Lego sets until I Finished the ones I had. I don t spend nearly as much time on Legos as I used to.

Descriptive Experience Of Plant Life I had imagined the residents to be desperate due to the poverty they face and the small room sized shacks they live in that resemble a poorly built shed and lack air conditioning, the thought of which made me shudder as the intense heat of the did not expect much from the Dominican Republic but from the minute I stepped into the heat and humidity I could tell that there was something different about it from the thatched roof and marbled floor of the airport, the sparkling turquoise blue sea and the pearly white sand lining the horizon, it seemed like a fairytale. Walking through the heat I could smell the floral scent of the plant life that thrived as far as the eye could see this filled me with nostalgia as I remembered back to my first holiday. I expected the non tourist areas to resemble heart wrenching poverty and i thought that they would fill me with an overwhelming drowning sensation of helplessness but it was actually the most beautiful, serene place I had ever seen. Lavish palm trees lined the roads towering over everyone, vast amounts of brightly coloured plant life was blooming in every colour of the rainbow as far as the eye could see and the snow white sand lined the turquoise sea. Groups of people were laughing on pavements composed of dirt, in front of the amazing plant life whose deep green leaves and luminous petals wsun bit into the top of my head. They all seemed so happy, despite everything, which warmed my heart. Confusion and amazement ripped through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Application Of Identification For Biometrics In order for biometrics to work, there must be a database of information containing substantial information on each individual. By nature, biometric systems collect more information than just the users fingerprints, retinal patterns or other biometric data. An individual who uses a fingerprint contact system allows government agencies and local law enforcement access to their every move. Most systems will record the whereabouts of an individual at the time of scan. Organizations will have the ability to anticipate the actions of an individual, and the loss of privacy will grow tremendously. Cross trading of an individual s personal data will increase, as an organization will have the attainability to share data in the market. If biometric details such as your fingerprints are compromised, it is not going to be possible to provide you with a new scan right away. Pam Dixon s honey pot analogy has some truth, but in the end law breakers will be held accountable for their actions. Individuals on probation or parole already have to report their whereabouts to a law official. However, the common citizen is placed under surveillance and constant security breaches that could ruin their credit, reputation and lives. For those who have overcome their past mistakes in the judicial system, they will be constantly criticize and monitored for their personal consumer purchases. No technology is perfect, any loss of data, hackers or terrorist threats to the database would cause a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The schools teach us that modern democracies are modeled on Athens, while military dictatorships are modeled on Sparta. However, history shows us that women had much more liberty in Spartathan in Athens. In fact, the democracy of Athens was available only to free men who were citizens of Athens. Moreover, to claim citizenship, an Athenian had to prove that both his parents were astoi. For the father, being astos meant that he was an Athenian citizen, but the mother could not be a citizen. • 11. Women in Hills like White Elephants and The Yellow... Through history women have fought for equal rights and freedom. This tension is derived from men; society, in general; and within a woman herself. In the nineteenth century, women in literature were often portrayed as submissive to men. Literature of this period often characterized women as oppressed by society, as well as by the male influences in their lives. This era is especially interesting because it is a time in modern society when women were still treated as second class citizens. Two interesting short stories, Hills like White Elephants and The Yellow Wallpaper focus on a womans plight near the turn of the nineteenth century. • 21. The Death Of Witchcraft By Richard Godbeer Essay Ultio, is the Latin word for Revenge, which the witchcraft craze of the 1800 s was indirectly a result of. Richard Godbeer argues that women and men, alike, were accused of witchcraft by vengeful neighbors. These vengeful acts, however, were a direct result of tensions in and around the colonies. In a new land faced by harsh weather, disease, and war with neighboring Native American tribes, many colonists needed an escape, something they could easily control and defeat. Accusing neighbors of witchcraft, was not only an act of revenge, but a way for colonists to band together against a common enemy they could destroy. They essentially created a substitute for their fears and hatred. Connecticut had already begun to face a renewal of Indian attacks, and dissention between Quakers and Anglicans, as Stamford begin to experience witch accusations. Goodbeer mentions, in his Afterword, that the rhetoric used to describe increasing tensions caused by Indian attacks and religious conflicts was similar to what was used to describe witches. Portraying them as being worshipers of Satan. In small communities, like those of the Puritans in the colonies, congressional members were expected to be friendly, kind and generous at all times. Any deviation from this norm resulted in aggravated neighbors who would then proceed to call that person a witch. However they did not believe as Christians do that Jesus was the incarnate of God because they believed that all material is evil and that God could not take on the form of a human who died and rose bodily. To justify that Jesus was indeed their spiritual redeemer they claimed that whoever entered Jesus at his baptism left him before his death on the cross. So while Gnostics identify themselves as Christians many of their doctrines are not biblically based. Think about all the animalsthat get put down and day or when people hunt how many animals are killed or animals accidentally hit by a car a year. Additionally, if you check your score and it isn t what you expected, this may be indicative of fraud or identity theft. Checking your score regularly can help you catch things early and clean up any problems. In laymen s terms, what is my FICO score? It is a number created and published by the Fair Isaac Corporation. The standard range is from 300 to 800. The average U.S. consumer has a score of 637. Higher is better. Ideally, you want to be at 700 or higher. A Cochlear Implants is a device that provdes direct electrical stimulation to the auditory (hearing) nerve in the inner ear. ( Cochlear Implants ) Cochlear Implants bypass the damaged hair cells, and directly stimulate the auditory nerve. • 36. Examples Of Hyperboles And Pathos In The Giraffe The short story The Giraffe by Mauro Senesi uses hyperboles and pathos to demonstrate how quick society is to discriminate and be neglectful based on the fear of the unknown. Ultimately depicting that misconceptions created by society can influence how change is perceived and welcomed. The Giraffe is a fictional short storythat is about a giraffe that is introduced into an environment where mentalities are outdated when it comes to things that are out of the norm . This new tall animal is viewed as a massive threat and is severly unwelcomed by the townspeople. Although the giraffe was not welcome the boys of this small town decide to keep it but face jurastic consquences when caring for the animal becomes a hassle. Firstly, Senesi uses hyperboles in The Giraffe to show how society despises new ideas and change, which restricts citizens to adapt to grow as people in society. An example when the boys were walking with the giraffe through the streets of the village they described the roofs couldn t imprison that high head, and [...] the giraffe [was] our periscope, to see from up above who knows what, who knows where (Senesi, line 47 51). Clearly this quote is a hyperbole since the boys and giraffe are walking on the streets and a roof is unable to inprison someone who is walking outdoors. What the author is trying to convey is that the boys are starting to pay attention to issues in their community that they used to be oblivious to. Furthermore, Senesi criticizes how ... At the end of 2013, there were over 1.4 million active duty U.S. military personnel, of which approximately half have a spouse and/or children. Once deployment orders are received these servicemen and women must say goodbye to their loved ones for up to fifteen months. During this time of separation, the families will go through dramatic changes in an effort to make up for the absence of a spouse and/or parent. The deployment of military personnel adversely affects their families by causing negative emotional and/or behavioral changes, by continuously altering the framework of the familydynamic, and by increasing the risk factors for divorce upon their post deployment reintegration. • 42. William Shakespeare s Antigone Olivia Seeney ENGL 330 Studies in World Literature 11/21/16 Hubris and Drama in Antigone Hubris may be categorized as two things. As a part of the Greek theater hubris qualifies as being the intentional use of violence to humiliate or degrade (Luebering). However, a more modern qualification defines hubris as exaggerated pride or self confidence (Hubris). Throughout Antigone both of these different characterizations of the word hubris can be found in specific events and characters. Being a Greek tragedy, it is evident that the concept of hubris plays a very important role in the development of characters and provides the reasoning for why each person does what they do. Much of the drama in this play is born from either excessive pride or from the unnecessary violence against sacred rituals or those who perform them. However, it is also possible to notice characters who fall outside of this hubris and rather choose to fight against it. By going against this traditional Greek dramatic element these characters highlight the injustices that are being displayed by those they are going against. Overall, the impact that hubris has had on this tragedy and on the culture as whole affects how each of the characters either use hubris to advance both themselves and their goals, or choose to fight against it for the good of those around them. The incorporation of hubris into Antigone can be visualized specifically by examining two characters in particular. The first character is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
